20 Best Saw Blade For Mdf (2023 Updated)

This is one of two blades that I use frequently on my table saw. I use a Freud Industrial 24t for ripping and this blade for all my crosscutting and also for ripping sheet goods. The little material diagram on the blade doesn’t list any of the cuts in the “Excellent” category and plywood cuts are listed as “Fair”.

Freud must be very conservative when rating their own blades because it does a great job cutting all of it. I’ve cut birch ply quite a bit with a very thin veneer and it’s a perfect, splinter free cut every time.

More recently, I cut about 50 2″ lengths of bloodwood for an end grain cutting board. If you are not familiar with the wood, it is a beautiful wood, but very dense and has a dulling effect on blades and the wood has a tendency to splinter.

This blade cut through the bloodwood beautifully and still gave me splinter free cuts on plywood afterwards. While I’m sure there are better 60+ tooth blades for what I do, this blade has not let me down yet and the price is fantastic for a Freud Industrial series blade.

The Industrial line has very thick carbide teeth for more sharpening, but I haven’t had to sharpen it yet, despite using it very often. Overall, a very good blade and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile 60 tooth blade.

So far, this has been a great saw blade. It is a high quality blade and that is easy to see because of the materials used to make it. It is also very durable which is important when working on a lot of projects.

It doesn’t dent or break and it’s thick and heavy. The coating that is used on this blade keeps it sharp longer and makes it last longer. I also like that it fits all 6 and 1/2″ circular saws. It makes it versatile.

The nicest thing about this blade, is how fast it cuts through wood, and how precise it is. It can cut through pretty much any kind of wood which is really nice. I also like that it has an anti kickback design to it.

This construction grade blade tore through the four one tonne bags of 2×4 rough softwood timber I use for firewood. It always has lengths that have been missed when de-nailing, but this blade makes light work of any nails or staples, gives me utter confidence to sail through the lot ready to put my feet up in front of my nice cozy fire when I’m done.

Definitely recommend this little toughie!.

The site seemed to indicate that I would be buying genuine Metabo blades at a good price but they are not. This should be made clear. I have not used them yet so quality unknown. I was looking for genuine blades and would have preferred those even if more money as they cut so well and last for ages.

Ordered two Starrett blades. Had Woodford blades substituted without any notice. After light duty the first is cutting at 30 degrees through excessive wear. Will not deal with this company again.

I reckon these blades are good value and certainly cut well in my bandsaw. The saw works at a greater speed than the old Record 250 I had before and this blade is like a hot knife through butter against or with the grain.

The Dewalt tablesaw has been incredible. The saw comes with a 24 blade general construction blade. I decided I get a 60-tooth blade for finer cuts. The Dewalt blades are excellent and tge kerf size and width of the saw blade accommodate the table saw perfectly.

The blade arrived new, quickly, and undamaged at a great price. I am very happy with the purchase.

Love this product. Never had it kickback, burn, or chip the wood i was working with. I cut reclaimed pallet wood for furniture i build. Other blades go dull dull faster than i would like. You can make at least two times the cuts with this blade.

Price of these blades are very close or even to other competitors.

To start, I’m a construction superintendent. I’ve been in the trades for 40+ years so I have a firm grip on good products. I’ve come to respect DeWalt more and more over the last several years. Each new product seems to improve my expectations.

This saw blade is no exception!! I wanted to test it hard because it claimed “elite” and I like that name, “Elite”. I ran about 50 crosscuts to check that it cut normally and the blade performed very well.

Low pitch buildup which makes a cleaner cut. I’m pretty fickle about clean cuts. Now the real test, rip cuts. I ran several 12 foot rips, back to back to purposely build up heat on the blade. I was attempting to see how many rips i could get before warping the blade.

Well, my mistake was that I ran out of battery, actually 2 batteries, 90 v , 6 Ah so, at that point I gave up. NOTE: I don’t recommend making several back to back rips for the reason I did. I was purposely trying to ruin the blade.

So, to my delight, the blade was/is awesome!!! I am still using it today, though getting a little tattered after a few weeks on the job. I will say that I’m glad I’ve had the chance to review this blade.

It will become a part of my normal, daily use as a hard working, reliable blade. The thin, 1/16th inch kerf is razor sharp, held that edge for a solid week of hard use. AWESOME BLADE Dewalt!!.

First I’d like to say that I tested this new blade as part of DeWalt’s smapling community. All in all, I’d say it’s a win. Pros include significantly more durability in most cutting applications. I used this saw to cut the following: Green treated framing lumber Composite decking Aluminum soffit panels Soffit panels were first.

Using a typical cutting table and pulling the saw backwards I found this blade to be about the same as the other blades I have used. This would be a negative if you only intend on using this blade for soffit material as this blade will no doubt be more expensive than your typical department store home brand.

After soffit I next used this blade to build a 16×8 deck with a large staircase. 2×10 greentreated framing lumber was a extremely easy to cut. This is a seriously sharp blade! When cutting stair stringers I used this one for two stringers, and a new blade from my usual brand.

I’m sure you could guess which brand it is (here’s a hint: It’s red), and you’ll have to as I’m not supposed to reveal the name of any competitors. On the stringers the results were even more obvious.

DeWalt’s new blade is extremely well made. The paint didn’t even rub off after I bound the blade a few times. Up next: composite decking. Typically blades will get gunked when cutting this material as it is a plastic product and will often melt onto the blade.

In this aspect the performance of DeWalt’s new “elite series” circular saw blade was purely average. That being said, I don’t see this as too serious considering that I would generally cut decking with a miter saw.

At the end of this decking project it was time for a good old fashioned torture test. In this case two rip cuts through 4′ of green treated 4×4 with galvanized 16d nails every 6”. DeWalt lost 4 teeth against my usual brand’s 7.

I’d still get a carbide blade for demo, but this would be a decent substitute. All things considered, this is a excellent blade for framing. And I do specify framing. I would look at using another tool for decking and a cheaper blade for metal soffit materials.

I used my DCS577 saw with this blade. Previously I had been using a Diablo ultra finish blade with 60 teeth to cut some plywood. This blade did give great cuts in plywood but struggled in regular lumber.

This Dewalt blade is able to match the clean cut of the Diablo in plywood and excels in cutting regular lumber. Cross cuts or ripping at the maximum depth of the saw pose no issues. Plunge cutting offered no noticeable kick back or wandering as the blade made the initial cut.

I used this blade on a window installation on an older home and found that the blade was outstanding cutting lapped style wood that was used in the area I was installing the window. The cuts were clean and the blade did not make the saw more difficult to handle.

Cuts both forward and backwards were not a problem and it was easy to make a cut out that only needed a small amount of cleaning in the corners with an oscillating tool. I was careful not to hit any nails or fasteners in this project so I can not tell you how it would handle that situation.

I grew up exposed to some of the cheapest saw blades one can imagine. It took getting into blades of this quality to understand that there are huge differences in blade quality and the experience that you will have with them.

This blade will be one that I will absolutely purchase in the future. Combined with the 60 volt DCS577, you will have a saw that will do what ever you need it to do.

This seems like a very good blade; cuts well and leaves a smooth finish. It’s also very flat; it doesn’t wobble, and won’t touch a zero-clearance insert when slowing down. One item of note is that the kerf is slightly wider than 1/8 inch, so if you depend on the gauge on your rip fench, it will probably need a little adjustment.

I’ve always used Forrest blades in the past, but $160 for a saw blade seems a bit much, and I can’t really see any difference in performance. I picked Amana because I have several router bits from them, and performance has always been top notch.

Should have replaced my original blade years ago on my Craftsman 19. 2v circ saw. I thought the batteries were dying. Nope, it was a dull blade. This new Irwin is thinner and the saw rips thru pine quickly, and doesn’t overwork the batteries.

it’s a bit of a rough cut, but i have plenty of files and sandpaper.

This is my first Irwin bade and I am pleasantly surprised. I was using a 20T Craftsman combination blade that was still very sharp but the feed felt slower than I wanted. I got this Marathon blade on a whim and it zips through pine and plywood with virtually no resistance.

It is very thin, I couldn’t even tighten the nut far enough as the threads stopped the nut on the shaft. Had to make a washer fit just to tighten it up. Not a big deal. Inexpensive blade that does a great job.

It can wander a bit as it is so thin, but it makes your table saw act like it has twice the horse power.

I was about to undertake building a desk out of ash and figured it was time to replace my table saw blade. What a difference. I was able to rip boards and then glue them up straight off the table saw without using a jointer.

Great blade for the money wouldn’t hesitate to get another one when it is time.

This item is just what I needed to replace the old blade which has been in use for over 5 years. It’s a very good product I just hope it will be as good as the original item. One thing I would like to see less of, is all the spare parts for my German saw, comming from China.

They may be a good product,who knows? It seems like everything we purchase now is made in China. It would have been nice to buy Parts for a German saw and find they have been made in Germany.

I bought this blade to replace the blade that came on my Bosch gts 10 xc table saw. The new blade transformed the saw. Ripping was slowed down but the quality of cut was perfect with no blowout, burning and the face of the wood was as if it had been sanded down.

Cross cuts were the same. Plywood and melamine cuts were perfect too, with zero chips on either side of the wood. Highly recommended.

Purchased a few different brands for a laminate floor project. Unfortunately this blade only lasted for about 15 cuts before the blade was dull and started smoking when cutting. Same for many of other brands as floor is very hard.

The winner was the Dewalt brand.

Been using Dewalt corded but now that I purchased my milwaukee m18 2732-20 and this blade came with it. This blade is a thin kerf and super sharp. Cuts through the wood like it’s melted butter. Should have made this switch a long time ago.

I would rate this blade better than the diablo I used in my Dewalt. Perfect combination, cordless, cuts true, ultra portable. Win win win.

I have been framing for a solid two years and the Milwaukee blades hold up as the best blade because of its durability! Much better than Dewalt and the diablo blades and it’s worth the money because it’s able to withstand a lot more abuse from cutting metal as well! Never will I switch to another blade other than this one.

Their Reciprocating saws are also the best demo blades too and I recommend anyone trying them as someone who has used diablo and Dewalt blades for renovating jobs and demo!.

This blade came with my rear handled circular saw. I have been using it to cut 2x10s and pressure treated 4x4s for a deck. I don’t even know how many cross cuts I’ve made with it so far and it’s still cutting like it’s brand new.

The saw itself is really powerful but no matter what kind of saw you have, a dull blade won’t cut. At roughly $10 a blade, you’ve got a great price for what seems like a quality blade. I will continue to buy this product.

It is what it is. You need a new saw blade and this fit my bill. It works and hopefully will last as long as the original unit on my Jet Contractors Saw. I can not really give you a good or bad review, because it has so far cut about a dozen pieces without any issue or struggling, give me a few more years and maybe I can advise further.

If you need a new saw blade and use your machine infrequently then this will do the job, just as will any other branded unit.

Whilst I am sure this blade is fine for regular wood cutting, I bought it to cut 8mm. thick wood laminate flooring and it blunted within the first day of cutting. For the first dozen or so cuts, it cut smoothly and accurately.

I have said that it was poor value and of poor quality, because for MY purposes it was, maybe the manufacturer should be more specific with their labelling of the product?.

These had a good review generally when researching blades. This was the best price I could find. Really pleased. Ps. The adapter rings, for different bore needs, were not obviously included but are.

I thought my saw was on its last legs. This blade has given it new lease of life. A hot knife through butter comes to mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. Great value at 9. 99 delivered and this includes reducing rings.

Good Blade cuts thro’ timber like butter. Adapter ring fits the Parkside saw perfectly. However the Parkside saw cuts in an anti-clockwise direction- no big deal just insert the blade with the printed surface facing the trigger.
