20 Best Saucony For Plantar Fasciitis (2023 Updated)

I have run in several versions of the Ride (6, ISO2, 13, 14), and although I’m tempted to try something else, I always seem to find my way back to old faithful. I feel most comfortable in a wide, even though I’m told my foot is borderline wide, and the Rides generally do have wides that fit like wides.

I will say the 14 wide seems narrower than previous versions (the 13 was really wide, which I liked), but not so narrow that my foot feels cramped. It took just one day of wearing them around the house to break them in (I felt like the 13s took a bit longer).

I have a low to medium arch, and these are just comfy. I don’t have to think about them, which is the way a shoe should be. Not too soft, not too hard. Just right. I’m not running a ton right now, and I haven’t had them too long, so I can’t speak to durability yet.

But for now, this is my winner. Now just add better colors lol.

I have worn Saucony for over 20 years now; they just fit my feet well! I usually buy the some variety of the Cohesion–mainly because they tend to be one of the cheaper Saucony options. I went for these because they were on sale (still a bit more expensive than what I usually spend), and (terrible reason here) I loved the look and color! I will say, compared to the Cohesion, this pair is more flexible and “squishy”.

To be honest, I actually prefer a more rigid sole, but others (like my husband) love flexible and squishy. That said, they are REALLY cute. and, I mean, that definitely counts for something. or a lot.

Size 12. 5 normal width. My family wears Saucony for running. All of us. My previous pair of Saucony lasted several years and I put a lot of miles on it. Really happy. But this pair has a design problem and they just broke, few months after I bought them.

The sole is too narrow near the tip. This makes that my toe, thru the top fabric actually can touch the ground when running. Actually, that fabric at the top is broken because it touches the floor. Bad design.

Now I am hesitant to buy more Saucony online and I will have to check them first in a store.

I’ve been wearing Guide’s since they first launched (version 1), and have owned multiple pairs of every subsequent version. I used versions 1-11 for treadmill running. I ran 20-30 mi/week in my Guide’s and never once had a complaint.

The 13s, however, are a major disappoint to me. I can no longer run in them, they are simply too uncomfortable. So much so that I’ve designated them specifically for outdoor walks. And even the first 3 months just walking in them physically hurt.

Version 13 took thrice as many miles to break in and aren’t nearly as wide as previous versions. For the first three months of wearing them, which was every day for the 2 mi I push my 59 lb disabled rescue dog in a stroller around the neighborhood, my feet, ankles, shins, calves and hip flexors were in pain both during and after the walk.

It wasn’t until month 4 that they felt “broken in” and my body stopped screaming at me for lacing them up. Despite my brand loyalty and long-standing affection for the model, I cursed the 13s every day of those first 3 months.

I swore I would never buy another pair again. They were so uncomfortable that it felt like I was wearing cheap hard plastic bricks that weighed me down. I doubt I will ever consider purchasing the 14s.

I’m sad to have to break up with Saucony this way, but with age comes the knowledge that comfort is most important. I’m ditching what no longer suits me. They don’t have the arch support I need. The toe box isn’t wide enough but the heel is too wide.

While I find them somewhat comfortable now that they’re broken in I still have to “row the boat” with the laces to keep my heel in place, which often cuts off circulation at my instep. Unfortunately these were a major fail for me.

I am a heavy runner, 6ft 225lb- athletic build. I put 20-25 miles in a week. I really enjoyed the plush cushion and the fair response of these Rides ISO’s. I really wanted to love these shoes because I enjoyed the perfect blend of cushion and response so much! So easy to run in.

They are medium weight- not to heavy. But after running in them for a week, approximately 20 miles, I develop plantar fasciitis. I realized I need slightly more arch support. So I returned them and went with the Guide ISO 2.

The only major complaint I had with the Ride ISO is the first generation ISO upper. The shoe strings go through a loop like material which kinda make for an uncomfortable feel in the upper. However the 2nd generation ISO’s are coming out with that fixed/changed to regular eye holes.

The Giude ISO 2 reflects this change and it’s a much improved fit. I am running in the Guide ISO 2 now and really enjoy it. The Ride is the neutral version of the Guide.

I usually try different brands and models when I need new running shoes. The main criteria are cushioning because I have been a heavy runner hitting 215 and a wide shoe. I got these when I was down to 195 and are now I’m at 170.

These are the best running shoes! Saucony has been a good choice in the past. The cushioning is like nothing I have experienced before. It’s not soft. It’s not a rubber ball rebound. It just cushions.

It’s amazing. No joint pain. I like the drop. I’m a heel striker/midfoot landing. The front cushioning is thin but this works for a really strong kick like in flats. The upper mesh and laces work great.

I like them enough that I am on the site now to buy another pair even though my current ones are still fine.

I have put about 25 miles on these shoes and they are a great shoe, but there are some things that were slightly annoying when I run in them. Since your foot and needs may be different than mine I will start off with my stats: 5’5”, 135 lbs/61.

5 kilos, mid foot striker, some past injuries/surgeries. Pros: – Cushioned but not overly “pillowy” when running. – Responsive cushioning and doesn’t just absorb impact like a heavy foam shoe like some NB shoes – Shoelaces! I think the additional stretch in the laces makes the shoe adapt as your foot swells – Good lockdown on the foot – Stable feeling as the midsole flares out slightly Cons – There is a lot of padding in the ankle which doesn’t feel like it’s cradling my heel/ankle – Heel to toe offset is pretty big which makes my heel graze the floor – Tapers in at the pinky toe and feels like it may cause a blister on longer runs.

I just bought the Hurricane 23 after walking around the store. I’ve owned/used the Hurricane 22 for about 3 months now and I have logged just over 100 miles with these shoes (I rotate them between a couple other stability training shoes – Asics GT’s – to ensure time for my shoes to decompress).

The Hurricane 22’s are AWESOME! The outer sole shows no wear at 100 miles, and the cushion and stability of the shoe is in like-new condition still today. Each time I run with these shoes, whether on the road or treadmill, my legs and feet do not feel tired.

I try saving these shoes for my long run day because they feel secure and comfortable. Although I anticipate using the H-22’s for another 250-300 miles, I plan to start rotating in my new Hurricane 23 shoes.

If things do not goes as planned (i. e. , the H-23’s fail to perform like the H-22’s) I will update this review if possible – if not, I’ll add another review. Regardless, I recommend this shoe if you like a solid stability trainer.

I hope Saucony doesn’t make things worse when they discontinue this Hurricane model (which I understand is the plan). I hope you find the same enjoyment.

I ran in Saucony Ride’s from 10th edition and always loved them. However I found the 13 dull and overly firm so passed on the 14. I decided to take a punt on the 15 given the advertised changes and I’m glad I did! The cushioning has been softened significantly and weight is reduced.

The upper is also more breathable and is very comfortable. My first run was a 10 miler and there was plenty of cushion and snappiness which helped the run fly by very pleasantly. I would recommend these as a solid daily trainer.

I’ve always been a 7. 5 in Saucony and went with this size which fits nicely. Some are saying they run sightly big but I wouldn’t have needed to size down. Very comfortable and versatile given the light weight.

Feels like there is enough cushioning and comfort for long distance efforts.

My PT recommended Brooks shoes to me several years ago and I have been wearing the Ghost shoe. The 14 version was comfortable but did not seem to hold up. it got feeling too loose in the width really quick.

Based on a Wirecutter review I tried the Brooks Glycerine. It was a disaster. I had knee, hip and ankle pain almost immediately that only got worse over time. I took the shoes back to Roadrunner and the clerk recommended the Saucony Ride 15.

So far I love the support in my heel and mid-foot as well as the roominess of the toe box. And after only two days my knee and ankle pain are gone and my hip is better. I do have a narrowish foot so can understand why some think the B width is too narrow.

At 76, it is great to feel comfortable again on my daily walks. Thanks Roadrunner for good service and selection.

I’ve been running for almost a decade now and I’ve been a loyal Brooks Ghost customer for most of that time. However, my most recent pair of ghosts faded pretty quickly, and so I started to research other shoes.

I found that the endorphin speeds were very loved by other runners and decided to wait for the release of the 3s. I just ran in them this morning and shaved 22 seconds off my usual tempo pace during a 5 mile run.

They feel incredible-I can feel them subtly propelling/bouncing me into my next stride. But it’s not harsh feeling at all or so cushioned that you sink and lose energy – it’s the perfect balance of spring, responsiveness and softness.

They are also incredibly lightweight. The overall experience helped to make my legs feel completely weightless and refreshed like I’d just come off a rest week. I honestly can’t believe I waited this long to try a plated shoe.

They are absolutely going to help me run more efficiently and shave time off my tempo and threshold runs. I will add my natural pace is just under 7 minutes /mile, race pace anywhere from 5:50-6:30. I can’t comment on durability yet, but so far I’m extremely impressed and excited to put some more mileage on these babies.

I’m a true 7. 5 and purchased that same size, they fit well even a bit on the loose side. I have a bit of a bunion on my left foot and the toebox is wide enough in the normal /medium width to accommodate that without any sort of pressure or rubbing.

If you are a faster paced runner who wants a high performance shoe that you can use as effectively on race day as you can on training days, this is your shoe. Saucony, make some more colors of these bad boys please!.

I just received the Endorphin Speed 3 and have only put in 10 miles so far but I’ve been a serious runner long enough and own/owned many good running shoes to know that this one’s a winner. I run 50+ miles per week (both the road and trails) so I have quite a collection to rotate on a regular basis and I was immediately able to tell that the Speed 3 will turn out to be my most used and versatile shoes.

Most racing and speed-oriented shoes just aren’t comfortable or stable enough for daily running. Daily training shoes are comfortable but not exciting or as fun to run in as racers. The Speed 3 somehow combines the best elements of both in one seamless package.

Although I haven’t taken this out on races yet but two fast 5-mile runs tell me that it will do just fine for racing. It’s also at least as comfortable and stable as my daily trainers, so I expect to use the Speed 3 a lot for my everyday road running needs.

I’ve seen and read dozens of reviews and I can definitely concur that the hype is real for the Endorphin 3. It’s comfortable, light, fast, stable, and just plain fun to run in. What more can one ask for? This is the one road running shoes I’ll take with me on trips (business or pleasure) along with one trail runner (if needed).

I just know I won’t sacrifice anything with the Speed 3. I already have the Pro 3 for racing/speed but that’s what I’ll save that for. Most of the time, it’ll be Speed 3. Now I’ve got my eyes set on the Edge to round out my trail runners collection.

Saucony really knocked it out of the park with the Endorphin Speed 3.

I have always read about people looking forward to putting on a running shoe. This is that shoe. I wanted a shoe with a nice bouncy cushion, but not too pillowy. I wanted a shoe with some stability, but not overbearing.

I wanted a shoe that could handle a long run, but didn’t feel heavy. Also, I am over 200 lbs, and run 20-30 miles per week. In short, I was looking for the Goldilocks of shoes. This is it. I had never had a pair of Saucony shoes but got fitted for these and am so happy I did.

I’ve put about 100 miles on these and they’re still as comfortable as when I bought them. I’ve never had a blister or a “hot spot” and they have handled my 10+ mile runs with comfort. I would buy these again and again.

I really can’t recommend them enough.

For me, the Saucony Men’s Liberty ISO Running Shoe, the first version, has been for me, with out a doubt, the best running shoe in which I have ever run. I am a twenty year veteran of the sport of running, with most of my shoes coming from Saucony.

With its mild, pronation support, full-lenght Everun cushioning, and a very durable outsole, these shoes are perfectly matched to my expectations, performance and training needs. It’s what everyone should expect from a well-suited, running shoe.

My latest purchase of the “Liberty”is my fourth. That should say it all. Highly recommend.

I followed the extraneous fitting advice pre purchase. The shoes are great for off road walking and path walking. I added my own orthotics as the footbed is removable. Great looking shoes too. Thank you.

I’ve ran in many other brands over the years, but Saucony keeps being my No 1 neutral running shoe. Right now, Freedom ISO 2 is one of the few running shoes out there that offer superior comfort, and trust me I’ve tried many.

I have problems in my right foot: bunion + arthritis in my big toe, a hammer toe, and bony soles. I need comfort, but also like shoes that are not sluggish on performance, and Freedom delivers on both.

The Freedom shoes did not require breaking-in, like all my other Saucony shoes. During the run my soles feel pampered. The upper is also comfy. The shoe feels light, molded to your foot, snug and secure, yet extremely comfortable.

Size-wise, I am a 9. 5 in Saucony shoes. My regular shoe size is an 8 to a 9, depending on the brand and shape of the shoe. Because my big toes are badly bent upwards, their nails can press on the upper of the shoe.

So if the shoe size is 9, that can be painful. Therefore 9. 5 is my perfect size to run in. Saucony, please do not ever consider altering the great comfort of these shoes! People with feet like mine need them, and we do not have many choices out there on the running shoe market.

I was looking for a good pair of casual walking shoes that could be used with either exercise clothes or regular clothes. These looked nice and had a nice neutral color. Anyway, the see feel narrow to me.

with a size 14, it’s almost like they extend the length of the shoe but didn’t match the ratio for increase in width. I’ve usually worn mizuno wave rider and wave sky for my running shoes and never had to order a wide shoe with that brand.

These are nice quality and I kept them anyway. I just probably won’t be able to stand/walk in them for as long as I’d like.

I was intrigued by the new sole and wanted to try these out. Despite reading I should size up a LOT I went with my usual saucony size. I wear Kinvaras and honestly nothing else seems to match them lately, though I worry I shouldn’t be running in only a low drop, low support shoe.

That’s why I keep looking for something else to balance them out! I am a size 6. 5 in street shoes and usually a 7 in running shoes. These are a 7. 5 and they are a half size too small. I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel, and high arches, and my foot actually goes over the medial edge of the shoe but because the upper is stretchy, they appear to fit.

When I run in these, my right big toe goes numb (that happens in shoes that are too hard) but halfway through a run I forget about them entirely (which seems like a good sign. ) It leaves me uncertain what I think overall.

I don’t think I’d buy these again, but I’m alternating them with my Kinvaras for now.

Not worn this pair yet but previous identical pair produced my PB’s at both 5k and 10k. Also used them for everyday training. My favourite racers, even since the introduction of later “high tech” carbon plate shoes (which I’m not keen on) Very good price on these A8’s too !.

I am a competitive racewalker in the men’s senior division (age 75-79). The Saucony A8 is very light in weight, very flexible where a racewalking shoe should be flexible, and enough softness in the heel to lighten the landing.

The only complaint is that the sole wears out in the heel area in 3-5 months and loses its lateral heel tread leading to pronation. If you can afford to buy shoes every 4-5 months, it is a great choice.

I really enjoy running in these. They’re probably best for mid and for-foot runners because they simply seem to promote that type of running. But they still offer lots of comfort and they’re really lightweight.

I love everything about this shoe. Fits the foot perfect, light as air, fantastic propulsion, and I have been having a lot of fun running fast in them (but saving them only for my important runs)! Have enjoyed on longer runs (20+ miles) and shorter runs.

The only small annoyance is the tongue which takes a minute to lay flat. I think that is a normal consequence of a thin and breathable upper. Sizing note: I had to go up half a size in every other Endorphin shoe (to a size 9).

I ended up needing a “true to size” in this one (went with an 8. 5). I hope this shoe never goes away!.

The bottom half of this shoe is amazing; the toe box is just a little to fragile for me. The mesh on top is so thin and breathable, which should be a good thing, that it bunches up when you lace them.

My feet are thin so this might not be an issue with someone who has a wider foot. It really is a good shoe if you don’t mind a flimsy top. It has not caused any pain or blistering, it just looks wrong more than anything.

Good running shoes but run big! It would’ve help if it stated on the shoe description so that I can make a better decision before purchasing because now they won’t changed. I called customer service and was told someone will reach out to me and I am still waiting.

They are asking for many pictures of the shoe, but like I mentioned, they are not defective, they run big it it should be stated.
