20 Best Sauce For Stir Fry (2023 Updated)

I love this hot sauce! I am following a whole food plant based diet that is low in fat and sodium, and mostly gluten free. I am trying to avoid sulphites and eat mostly natural food. Finding tasty spicy sauces that fit this long list of dietary requirements was completely impossible until I found Tangy Bang.

I put this hot sauce on everything. It’s delicious!.

On the one I got in the fridge there is no mention of soybean oil. The product description has been updated I guess since then and now I see that the horseradish has soybean oil and sugar. It’s a shame because even tho I do enjoy the flavour very much.

I suspected it was too good to be true because I felt minor symptoms after eating it. I can’t handle refined sugar or soy. so. that explains it. Wish they would find ways to keep great tasting products like this completely clean of allergens.

Like agave nectar over sugar and sunflower oil over soybean oil. Not too fond of the citric acid either. They might have to raise the price by a dollar to get the right blend but I think it’s worth it to win over the real health-conscious people along with everyone else.

They almost got it.

Have tried several of their sauces – all good. The Ginger Stir Fry is very good, useful in many ways: in salad dressings, sauces, drizzled directly on meat, fish or vegetables. Mixed with soft cheese/yogurt as an ingredient in dips etc.

etc.

My wife used this sauce for stir fry that we both were looking forward to. It tasted worse with eat bite we took. Neither one of us could stomach anymore. We still talk about how horrible it was, months later.

Probably the worst thing we ever ate in our entire lives. Kikkoman, you certainly left a lasting impression. Never again!!!.

My family and I used to love this sauce. Needless to say we don’t anymore. I dont know if they changed the recipe or what but it is WAY TO SALTY now. We can’t even eat it. We thought maybe it was one batch they did but every bottle we haven’t gotten even from different stores all taste the same.

Sad cause like I said we really enjoyed this sauce.

A great ready made stir-fry sauce. I have been using it for years. It has a touch of sweetness but not too much. The savory side allows the umami tflavoring to come through. The viscosity is perfect, no “soupy” stir- fries.

This part of my order has still not been delivered, been several weeks and they stopped responding to requests for up dates.

I bought this a few weeks ago to make orange chicken. My husband and I love orange chicken, but I can’t eat what he gets from the local Chinese restaurant as I am gluten intolerant. This had an odd bitter taste, and I could not detect an orange flavor at all.

I accidentally picked this up looking for something else in a hurry. Thought I would try it anyway. I wasn’t a fan, my husband wasn’t either. We however did eat it, instead of wasting it. Just wasn’t for us.

However, if its a flavor you like. I will say. it was not bland, had a little heat to it, seemed well made, price was on sale when I grabbed it.

This sauce/glaze is GOOD. I salt & pepper some boneless skinless chicken breasts and sautee in some oil until browned on both sides, then transfer to a baking dish, brush on this glaze and finish cooking in the oven till chicken is no longer pink and the glaze is nice and sticky.

Served with rice and broccoli—this makes GREAT chicken.

House of Tsang has been our go to since it first came on the market. Raised on “meat and potatoes,” we cook mostly Asian inspired dishes now. Fresh produce, meat and shrimp. Don’t let the lack of color be off-putting.

A dash of soy sauce, which I don’t care for due to high sodium content, will add more color. I enhance the already enjoyable flavor with fresh basil. I will add this to my “staple” sauces, along with Szechuan Spicy.

This is the most addictive sauce I’ve ever tried. I go through several bottles of this a week sometimes, when I’m eating a lot of Asian-inspired dishes. It’s pretty hot which is awesome, very savory, and just the right amount of sweetness to level it all out.

On top of that, it’s not all that terrible for you, compared to some sauces.

I used this sauce with some stirfry veg, noodles, and some cubes of pre-prepared cornflour-crusted tofu (obviously could be chicken, etc. ). Very substantial sauce. They fit a lot in the small bag, there’s lots of flavour, it tasted very good as other chow mein sauces are often bland.

I didn’t use the whole bag in the stirfry as I’m cooking for one person, so it made a great dipping sauce for spring rolls by adding soy sauce, vinegar, hot sauce, sesame oil and seeds.

What a find, I came across these a while back, and since then always have a stash in my cupboard. So handy to have, and the taste is delicious. So no need to get a chinese takeaway now. I try and eat healthy and love a good stir fry with veggies and noodles with chicken or beef.

This is such a lush taste and a well flavoured thick sauce. enough for 2 people and really coats the noodles n veg so well. A really tasty sauce and so handy to just grab, no mess and great value!.

One of these is about right for standard pack of Asda fresh noodles. I usually add some raw prawns- cook these first in my wok – take them out and stir fry some veg add the sauce add the prawns an then pop in the fresh noodles and mix it all up.

Dinner in minutes – Delicious!.

This Amoy offering will serve one. It contains ginger, unlike standard BBS, & it is very good, but so are the two Waitrose branded BBS’s – I can’t decide which I like best – they’re all good in my opinion.

BBS is usually made from fermented black soybeans, [called douchi in Chinese] & garlic. It is strong stuff & many people are put off by the smell BEFORE it is cooked – don’t judge it from the raw smell out of the container – very different from when it’s combined & cooked! It can be used like soy sauce, but it’s richer & more subtle both.

Great in stir-fries especially Chinese noodle dishes or used as a BBQ sauce on pork spare ribs [steamed, grilled or roasted] INGREDIENTS: Water, Sugar, Black Beans (6%), Soy Sauce, Modified Starch, Ginger (3%), Sunflower Oil, Shallots (2%), Garlic (2%), Acidity Regulator, Salt, Plain Caramel, Sesame Oil, Pepper.

I love Thai food and keep buying products with Thai in the title to try to recreate my favourite dishes at home. I keep buying this Amoy product by error. Every time I have cooked with it I take a bite, gag, try another bite to confirm, then throw it out for the birds.

The pigeons ignore it for days until the cold forces them to eat anything to survive. Poor pigeons. I usually fed them prime RSPB foods so they are not used to scraps. Anyway, this ‘sauce’ is a glutinous thick red syrup which tastes of nothing except sugar and the merest hint of pepper which might be the faded ghost of a mild chilli.

All it does to stir-fried noodles or veggies is to turn them red and claggy. Not something you’d want to eat or even to look at. Waitrose should add a function to let shoppers put hated products on an avoid list like an inverted favourites.

Any product that appears on a lot of avoid lists will know it has a serious problem to fix. I predict this product would be in the top ten avoids.

I add this to most of the asian sauces that I make. It’s great instead of sugar too (ie – substitute this for the soy sauce and the sugar). Love it!

My son and I are both gluten free and love Mongolian beef but can never have it. This sauce is fantastic! It is every bit as good as a restaurant which never happens at home, It is also incredibly easy to prepare.

I made a king prawns stir fry with this added at the end. Delicious sauce, sweet but not overly so, and not spicy at all. One star deducted as the sauce is quite thin and if you use a lot your meal tends to sit in the sauce.

I coated chicken thighs with this sauce then baked them – truly delicious, sticky and sweet.

Excellent product. Always buy when on offer . Added to mushrooms and spring onions for a sauce .. yummy

These arrived safely packed within a box of other food items. They were individually wrapped in ample waffle type brown paper wrap. Excellent packing on this entire order! Thank you Walmart! The expiration date is more than a year away.

I was hesitant in buying this sweet and sour sauce, because every one I have ever tried was just too sour. La Choy sweet and sour sauce is a perfect blend of sweetness and a little bit of tart. Absolutely delicious for chicken strips or egg rolls.

I finally found my sweet and sour sauce!.

This is a brand I like. It’s really tasty and have used for a very long time. No corn syrup so that’s good for me. The only improvement maybe would be if there were nice sized pieces of pineapple and bell pepper.

Highly recommend this product. Keep on hand as a dipping sauce as well.

Wow, did you know that sauces could be not only high in sodium, and fat, AND sugar? I was oblivious, until my doctor told our family to start watching our sugar. We started trying all of G. Hughes sugar free sauces with the Hickory BBQ one (tasty good!).

Then we moved over to dressings (honey dijon/mustard I think is my favorite), and finally STEAK SAUCE. Yes, sugar all over the place in that A-1, so if you are watching your sugar, you might want to try to transition to this sauce.

People that say A-1 is spicier are RIGHT. This steak sauce is more of a savory, sweet flavor that tastes delicious on meat, sides, pretty much whatever. You are not supposed to use half a bottle of steak sauce on your food, btw, which is what my boys used to do.

“WHO ATE ALL THE STEAK SAUCE” they would grumble back and forth. You did, you both did, last night. :::head smack::: We’re on our 4th bottle of this stuff, and it’s being used lightly (yay!), which saves us money too.

bonus! I think it’s a great substitution, and even when we are eating sugar more often, I can see us using this as a regular pantry staple. Try it, but PLEASE don’t buy all of it once you like it. Save a few bottles for the rest of us.

lol. PS – if you miss the TANG of the other sauce, you could always add some vinegar to your food. It’s vinegar. You know, really inexpensive, good for your vinegar? You’re welcome.

It is excellent for it to be a low carb, sugar free marinade. Now, being a southern woman, I cannot help but add other things to it such as an extra 2 TBS. of low sodium Teriyaki sauce, 4 TBS of oil, a splash or 2 of liquid splenda and the zest of 1 orange for each bottle so I guess you would say I use it as a starting base to make an excellent marinade for boneless/skinless chicken breasts to be grilled.

I like the fact that it is not loaded down with sugar. I have tried other sugar free sauces that were awful, this one is good, but like I said, I am a southern woman, I have to do extra with it. I like the Orange Ginger variety and the Teriyaki versions the best and do the same thing with either of them.

I use this versatile sauce primarily for stir fry dishes. Terrific with veggies, rice noodles, chicken, beef, pork. just use your imagination. I try to keep a few bottles in the pantry so we don’t run out.

I use this sauce in a lot of my stir fries (along with other ingredients). It is the key element and results just aren’t the same with out it!

I’m so glad I discovered this sauce. It’s very spicy hot, but maintains a flavor all its own. The only thing I don,t like is the size of the bottle opening. It’s big, and the sauce comes out quickly.

So be careful when you pour !.

San jay dipping szechuan sauce is so flavorful!. best we ever tried in our home and we keep buying it. bought 5 bottles last month. we hate to run out of this stuff. We tried a couple other brands in the grocery store and feel this is so much better.

Just a little with chicken or turkey pieces makes a good meal great! This is the only place I have found for gluten-free. spicy…but not too spicey!

Ever since Nestle bought Minor’s, their products have deteriorated in quality. Minor’s was known for outstanding taste and quality and only sold their products to restaurants, hotels etc. not generally to the public in stores which is why you may not have heard their name.

Nestle has cheapened their products so they have no taste, are loaded with starch and fillers, and very low quality. Won’t. buy anymore and am looking to return what I have. This stuff is LOADED with red pepper WAY BEYOND USABILITY and has no authentic taste (I know what Gen Tsao’s should taste like, and this isn’t it!).

So much pepper it’s like someone made a mistake and dumped ten times the pepper they were supposed to when making it.

This General Tso’s sauce is the next best thing compared to authentic! Great flavor and consistency. Guests loved this and the price was great. Shipping was quick and secure.

This sauce reminds me of the delicious sweet and oh so spicy hot sauce you get in the standard Chinese restaurant. Now you can have it at home. I put this sauce on a lot more than chicken. Be aware this hot in spices heat isn’t for the timid.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This made a very quick and flavorful meal. I browned some chicken wing sections in a skillet with olive oil, removed them, and sautéed zoodles in the remaining fat.

When the zoodles were almost done, I added the Stir Fry Sauce, tossed it to coat, then added the wings back with a splash of Stir Fry Sauce over each. So easy, and so tasty! I will definitely keep this versatile sauce on hand for other dishes.

I love that all the complex flavors are easy to pour, no separate bottles needed. If you aren’t heavy handed, the sodium is doable.

I wish it had a longer shelf life since it is a massive amount of sauce to consume in a few months. Luckily, it seems like it will pair well with lots of different things. I would definitely purchase this again, but I would look for a smaller container of it next time.

The flavor stood out with a zesty taste but not an overwhelming taste that you can’t also taste the vegetables and meats in the stir fry.

We used it for stir fry but I will also try it on grilled chicken wings. This is a must have sauce for anyone that loves a good stir fry. I would recommend this to anyone.
