17 Best Sandblaster For The Money (2023 Updated)

I use this sandblaster with Vevor’s 18. 5gal 4HP compressor and it does a great job. I’ve used it with “black diamond” grit to blast off all the mill-scale from the steel I used to build a 12’x6′ trailer before painting it.

Just got it and tryid it. It works like it should. Build quality is okay for that price. The unit is not very good packed. I had 2 breaks on the unit, mount to the handbags and the monometer.

I agree. This item was very easy to setup and use. I blasted the bumper to my TJ. I have a 120 gal compressor. I ran larger coal slag with the biggest of the four nozzles. I ran a lot of material through that way.

However, there were no clogs. I also found that when I put cardboard down on the driveway where I was working, I could reuse the material. This was when using the slag. I used finer grain mix as well.

I could only get one use out of the fine material bcuz it seemed to pickup moisture from the compressed air which caused it to clog on a second pass. The slag was a great stripper. $8 per 50 lb bag and I could reuse it again.

Although I have a smaller compressor, I have not tried it. The larger one did such a great job I will go back to it. I recommend getting a thick long sleeve shirt and gloves. I also used protective glasses under the provided hood.

I would recommend this product. It’s awesome.

Love this sandblaster. Using it to blast a 39 Chevy Sedan I am restoring. Not the fastest way but great for my DIY project. I have an 80 gallon 5hp Ingersoll shop compressor running it and a air feed blasting hood.

I use fine black diamond blasting media from Tractor supply. Its only $10 per 50 LB bag.

It’s works like hoped it would. Highly recommend it for anyone, very easy to set up and use.

This sandblaster is good for smaller jobs. I used it to blast a chainsaw bar and it did a great job. It removed the rust and old paint in no time and left a nice clean surface for painting. Can do bigger jobs with it.

It will just take a little more time. I sandblasted a 275 gallon oil tank years ago and it turned out real nice.

Bought this to clean small parts on a tractor we are restoring. Works great stripping rust and paint. The course media blasted through grease dried on as well. You need to understand (or find someone who does) how to manage the air supply and then select the proper media for the surfaces you are cleaning.

I sized a compressor for this purpose, built an aftercooler for the compressor, installed a regulator, a desiccate drier in line and a regulator with a filter. We are now making a funnel bucket to hold the balsting media for easier uptake in the siphon line.

The poor reviews I’ve seen on sandblasting seem to be because people don’t understand how to get air dry and of capacity to adequately operate the sandblaster.

I had purchased an HF blast cabinet and was very dissatisfied with the gun that was included. After looking at some reviews, I came across this Campbell Hausfeld gun that seemed to be an answer. I ordered it about 3:30 on Friday and it arrived about 2:00 on Saturday (yep, less than 24 hours).

I quickly switched out the gun and grabbed an old rusty saw I had laying around. Using some glass media, I quickly cleaned the blade with no issues. The draw on this gun is a huge improvement compared to the HF original.

For $20, a great deal.

Bought this bench top unit last year because I needed to clean up some small parts, and didn’t have room for the larger free standing unit. It was easy for me to set up. I added a moisture separator to the cabinet and a look online guided me through the process of setting up a home built cyclone vac system.

Under cabinet LED lights are taped to the outside of the viewing window. The compressor is a five HP sixty gallon tank and has no issues. So surprise, surprise, here it is a year later and I’m able to cram 14 inch MGB wire wheels in there and do a bang up job of stripping the paint and rust off them for restoration.

It’s tight, and my tip to anyone doing this, is to make sure and keep the blast nozzle pointed down or the plastic shield covering the inside of the viewing window won’t last very long. With wire wheels it’s easy to get caught up in the wrong position and next thing you know the ricochet of media takes out your shield.

It’s a great tool to have and is worthy of the space it takes up on my bench!.

I just picked this up last week and got it set up. It comes assembled and will work well for small parts blasting. I recommend several things for you to love this cabinet. First, make sure you have a light source directly above it and you will never have a lighting issue, I placed this in my basement under a recessed high hat light (10w LED).

Second, make sure you use the large 3 1/2 inch hole on the top right in the back for air draw. Leave the rubber grommet on and I mounted a Oatey Round Black ABS Shower Drain Model# 422494 (Home Depot) on it with 4 self tapping screws, make sure you remove the 4 screws and the top of the flange.

Then you just run some 2 inch PVC away from the back and the add reducers so it will hook up to a Shop Vac. For ease of media recovery I put in a 2 inch PVC trap and put a piece of steel wool in it to act as a baffle trap.

Do not use the blasting gun that comes with this, get one from eBay or Amazon (Wogoboo Air Sand Blaster Kit Blasting Grit Shot Sandblaster Siphon Feed Gun Nozzle Tube Rust Remove Abrasive Sand Blasting for Sandblast Cabinets) for 20 bucks, it comes with 4 ceramic tips and more important the pick up is a black tube with a aluminum based that also has a aluminum air line built in.

I went with Garnet 100 grit from Grainger, got a 55 lb bag for 47 bucks and the stuff works amazing. I have heard some sources of aluminum oxide are crap, so this avoids the issue and is half the price.

I am running a 2 HP 27 Gallon tank, with a water separator coming off the tank and another small one near the blasting tool. Even at 70-80 psi the gun works with no issue with a 5mm ceramic tip. Prepped a a billet aluminum receiver for Creakote in 5 minutes.

This is worth every penny.

Very nice blast cabinet. Thought I might have to replace the gun but it turned out to work as good as my skat blast gun so far. The only complaint I have is that the supplied ball valve and associated fittings leaked badly even with 8 wraps of Teflon tape.

No biggie, went to Lowe’s and bought new ball valve and 3/8-1/4” bushing and fixed the problem for $12. Really nice cabinet, if you’re in the fence don’t hesitate to buy this.

This media blast cabinet arrived quickly and was well packaged. Set up was fast and easy. This is a quality unit with plenty of room to get the job done.

I absolutely love this blast cabinet. little overpriced for what it is in my opinion but for the amount blasting I’ve done in this thing I’ve got my moneys worth. I’ve blasted 5” exhaust sections in this thing love the space.

Little disappointed in the quality of the product. Lot of self tapping screws in things that need regular removal and installation. The sight glass plastic needs to be changed on a regular interval. I took out the self tapping screws in the gloves and sight glass and put in 10-24 rivet nuts with 5/8 stainless button head screws.

Makes the unit more robust and only cost about $10 dollars. Cords running on top of machine need to be cleaned up, in will be running 1/2 conduit, will look nicer and improve quality.

The quality of this blaster is exceptional! From the time I first see the crate and how it was packaged I was very impressed. It is obvious that attention has been given to every detail. It may seem expensive but this is such a nice machine (industrial quality) that it is actually a great value.

I recently purchased the 940 DLX Skatblast media blasting cabinet. It has been amazing. It’s nice when you purchase a tool with expectations and it exceeds them in every aspect. I have since purchased the additional flood light kit.

You’ll want it. The shadows from the one light defiantly make you wish you had better lighting. But that’s a simple fix. The media they ship with the cabinet works beautifully. Anything larger I feel would cut into the objects I’m blasting.

I would recommend staying with the same grit of media. Overall extremely happy and wouldn’t hesitate recommending friends to buy from TP Tools and skatblast products Mike L.

Tool works good! But would be nice if you didn’t have to use both hands to operate the gun without losing media out the end of the nozzle. Otherwise works fine.

Love this hand held sandblaster. Compact enough to get into those tight corners, and does a great job. Would recommend it to anyone that has small projects to sand blast

This is an excellent product for those smaller projects you want to do. It works great and JB Tools was awesome to deal with. Everyone should have one of these!

It worked well for me. BUT. CampbellHausfeld does not sell parts and none of their distributors has them. All other sources appear to be sold out/ unavailable. If you can find a ceramic nozzle it comes in a kit with the air jet and the seal that costs 2/3 s of the cost of a whole new set.

My presure blaster came with a ball valve-type gun, which lasted for 3 or 4 tanks of sand before it was so eroded that it was pretty much useless. I bought one of the above guns from Northern and was sure that I has found the answer to my sandblasting woes.

However, after a few tanks of sand, the gun started to leak air after the handle was released. The leak worsened to the point that the hose loaded up with sand as a result of the leakage. I disassembled the gun according to the instuctions and installed the single replacement rubber tube that came with the gun, which restored proper function.

After the second tube wore out , I had a hard time finding rubber tubing that would work with the gun (most tubing found at auto stores, etc. are reinforced with cord and are too stiff to work). This gun is a great design, but I suggest that more tubes be supplied with the gun, that replacement tubes be listed in the catalog or that tubes and replacement nozzles be packaged together.

I havent used it yet, but it seems substantial. I liked that it came with extra tips and other wear parts.

It comes with four tips, which would run you almost as much as the unit. The problem is that the rubber blocks are very poor quality and you can’t buy new ones. If you’re turning the flow on and off often, you could go through one of the blocks in as little as an hour.

I made a new one out of wood and stuck some 1/8″ gasket material on the bottom. The quality of the gasket rubber is way better and I’ve been using the same piece now for probably 8 hours.

The adjuster broke the first minute of use the knob broke off when I tried too turn it by hand very weak part. The blaster it self didnt pull sand either I tried to make adjustments with a wrench since the knob feel off and no luck.

I got my grinder with a wire wheel to do the job its only sale for a reason not sure what to do with it at this point I wouldnt feel right selling it to someone since it doesnt seem to work at all. I usually dont give bad reviews but save your money pass on this thing.

The little T air fitting broke off after 5 minutes of use. Works OK with my Honda 3600 psi.

It worked better than I expected with my 4000 psi power washer. Sand I used was for a sand box $4 it needed to be sifted and pool filter sand which did not need sifted $5, both available at Home Depot.

For years I toiled away with that small red thing. You all know what I mean. I thought that was the norm. Hours spent on parts that had to be prepared. Hands cramped, and back hurting from being hunched over.

I needed something bigger to handle more items. I did my research and landed on tptools and on skat. Man oh man I was worried. This is a large purchase. Worth every penny. Parts that took me hours are now done in minutes.

The quality of the blast is astounding. Pedal controls? Light weight nozzle? Is this some kind of weird dream? Nope! My sand blaster is no longer the bottleneck. I’m gonna need a bigger powder coating oven….

Arrived in excellent condition. Well packaged in wooden shipping box. Instructions were vague. Parts were not labeled as stated in instructions. Wasn’t aligned correctly as the legs didn’t fit correctly.

I chose to grind some of the ends to make the legs fit flush as opposed to taking the whole cabinet loose to shift some panels around to square up the edges. That was a bit frustrating. The air hoses are a bit too short, another 12 inches would have been great.

This design caters to right handed people so I had to cut the platform and move the hose up through the middle between the gloves so I can use my left hand or right hand. Well intended but needs better design and assembly.

Inside the light box were two angle brackets with No instructions as where they go so I used them to strengthen to legs on the side of the cabinet. Overall it will eventually be a good piece of equipment for my shop.

I just had to customize it to fit my needs. I also welded some wheels using 2” x 2” x1/8”steel angle iron as my platform and I store extra bags of bead blast under the cabinet and off the floor. I added the vacuum reclaimer to the cabinet so I can now roll it around my shop to where I need it.

When I first got this cabinet and set it up I was pretty disappointed but as it turns out the problem was of my own making. I bought this to replace a smaller HF red cabinet. I also bought the vacuum that mounts on the back which was on backorder for a long time.

Once I got it all set up I picked up some blast media, which I thought was glass beads and gave it a try. The cabinet did horrible, worse than the smaller cabinet it replaced and the vacuum couldn’t keep up with the dust.

I finally took a better look at the media I bought which was listed at the local HF as glass beads and realized it was a soda based media. This stuff is complete garbage in a blast cabinet and does little of anything other than to plug up the vacuum filter and make a fine powder mess.

I scooped it all out, vacuumed the cabinet out, cleaned the lines, and cleaned the vacuum filter. Then I replaced it with pure glass bead media and now everything works fine. The vacuum keeps up with the dust removal and the cabinet works like it should.

Make sure you don’t put the soda based media garbage in this cabinet because it doesn’t work.

They are very few things anymore that are worthy of the attributes that this blast cabinet possesses. Right out of the box ,and by the way I’ll get back to the Shipping box shortly, You will understand this is truly a professional grade cabinet.

From the paint that is rockhard and totally protective of the metal surfaces in this application, To the integrity of design with the hinges, latches, Lighting, The unit is heavy and you will need help from another person assembling it, Assembly was very easy parts lined up beautifully.

I also purchased the Dust reclaimer kit, which is also engineered and design of the same quality, Extremely powerful vacuum, And honestly wasn’t that loud at all. When purchasing something of this size the concern is always, Will it make it in one piece do to its size and weight, Shipping container that this Blast cabinet comes in is made of wood and metal, And it is designed in such a way to totally protect the cabinet.

And because of its design it’s totally reusable! Bottom line, you’re looking for a blast cabinet? you don’t need to look anywhere else. The price is unmatched from anywhere you can go by hundreds of dollars.

Stripped paint from a 4 X 8 trailer bed in 1. 5 hours. Used 1 60 lb bag of crushed glass. Used Simpson 4400 Psi 4 GPM pressure washer. Best for continuous use, If you stop you probably need to clean the nozzle.

Takes less than a minute, easy. I recommend a short 16″ for better control if you can reach. Very satisfied.

First I received my Sandblasting, not a complete kit, had no siphon tube and took FOREVER to get the incomplete kit. Emailed requesting the tube got a prompted reply within a week I received a UPS box just a box had nothing inside except a piece a packing paper.

I tried to use without the tube and first time ran water through the air adjustable valve T-handle broke. I still have NO TUBE and now broken handle. Had planned on purchasing a pressure washer if this blaster kit worked as advertised, however, even if I do it WILL NOT be from BE Pressure Supply! I can not understand why they waste their money advertising with this kind of service.

I have a dozen cast aluminum patio chairs that are old and have peeling paint. I was concerned that my 2900PSI pressure washer would not be powerful enough, but it worked fine. It takes practice to keep the sand from getting wet.

I knew that you had to keep the sand intake tube up, but found out that you had to keep the gun horizontal,To keep the sand dry. Also you cannot get too close. For my chairs, pool filter sand did not work well, but play sand did.

It does take a little time, but wet sandblasting does work.
