Sandpaper is a material composed of an abrasive grit and a backing. The backing is usually paper, but can also be cloth, film, or foil. Abrasive grits are typically natural minerals such as sand, but can also be synthetic materials such as aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, or diamond.
Sandpaper is used to smooth wood surfaces prior to staining or painting. The grit size of the sandpaper determines how much material will be removed from the surface of the wood. Coarser grits will remove more material, while finer grits will remove less.

I have installed the first of 8 belts & it is performing very well. I bought a pack of belts previously from a different vender. they where poor quality. They blow apart after a short run time. The vender would not stand behind them.
good quality for the price. I’m an amateur wood worker so I get my moneys worth before they wear out. Bought them on eBay but they were dropped shipped from amazon. Store them in a cool, dry place. Humidity is not their friend.

I just been turning for a couple of months but I’ve been an aircraft mechanic for 37 years so I know quality emery cloth and this is it. However, when trying to use the provided slots for dispensing the media the rolls kept getting tangled between the dividers.
I first untangled and rearranged the rolls then widened the slot in the box. No help. So, now I just dispense the rolls out the opened box top. No big deal but the design of the box was one of the things that attracted me to this product.
Buy this for the sanding media, not the box and you’ll be very satisfied.
Ideal for use between coats of finish on freshly coated surfaces such as wood and metal. Angled sides help strip coatings from small details and get into corners. Lasts up to 5X longer than conventional 3M sandpaper.

I have to tell you I was rather impressed with this sponge and it really help with my lighter woods and even around the house like my shower and window seals. The flexibility of the sponge lets you get into those tight corners and little designs without damage.
I also found that the dust and fine wood particles are less apparent when I am sanding. I used the sponge on my table to remove some old paint around the delicate swirl designs and it worked perfect.
The sponge actually was able to get into the tiny grooves and crevices. Another thing I used it on was the wood around my kitchen cabinet. Finally, my big test was getting the paint off my shower walls, which the painter left.
I have tried everything but was worried I would scratch the surface. First, I tried a small edge of the shower using the sanding sponge and it removed the paint in seconds without leaving a scratch. This is the first time in 4 months that I have my beautiful shower back in pristine condition.
Again the sanding sponge was really flexible letting me hold on to it comfortably, plus it has 2 different sides. One side for the finer work like my table and then a flat side that I used in the shower and on my kitchen cabinets.
The best thing about it is after all this use; you can barely tell I used it at all. It still looks almost new. Definitely a wonderful product that I will be buying again and my sister says she loves them and uses them all the time in her wood working business.
This is a type of product I look to purchase, so it was important for me to see in person what it actually looked like. I received the 220 Fine to test and it has a Premium aluminum oxide mineral for its’ surface use.
I love it simply by construction. On one side it is flat and the other has a 6 sided hexagon raised puffy sanding pattern. The two elongated sides are also coated making it versatile overall. Long ago, I used one or two regular sanding blocks which were less strain on my hands and faster for my project.
But, it also degraded easier, especially if it got wet. I tried this sanding product on a smooth unfinished wood, a slightly sealed wood hammer handle and on the wall. If lightly addressed, it might help with glue residue on paint, etc.
To differentiate it, I placed a bit of water over the raised pattern to clear some of the particles from my painted surface. It did not cause a separation or fall apart as of yet, which is a big advantage.
I feel if the cost is low then I would want to try many from the line and keep them on hand for home repair, crafting, and maybe cleanup uses. There is one big downside and especially noted because I would prefer to purchase this over another.
It is labeled as being only at Lowe’s and I am not sure about in the future how to get them.
I had new a new countertop installed in my bathroom which required about 6 inches of drywall to be replaced around the backsplash. I usually sand with a block that you attach the sandpaper to. I had tried sanding sponges before but they were expensive because you couldn’t sand very much before they clogged.
3M had sent me this sponge to try, and I was pleasantly surprised that it worked so well. I started with the grooved side and was able to get all sanded by just knocking and shaking out the drywall dust.
And it was so much easier to get the neat edge where the drywall meets the granite than using a block. I did put down blue tape on the granite so I wouldn’t scratch it. Very neat, smooth edges and ready to paint.
Probably would not be using for large projects but great for small and tight space projects!.

I have used these sanding sheets for a couple of years. They may more expensive than cutting rolled glass paper but are much quicker and more convenient when changing sheets. They also last a fair while.
I have been making my own sheets to fit my old Bosch sander but they were inclined to slip. However, these fit the hook and loop fitting on the sander and do not slip. Also, they have the correct dust extraction holes.

I used it dry the first time to sand a flat surface and it worked quickly giving me a smooth surface. To make even smoother, I wet it a little and went back over the surface again. It did the job quickly.
Once I was done with sanding, the block/sponge rinsed off easily and didn’t have any sawdust on it from what I can tell. I just let it dry before putting it away. It seems to be holding up well so I should get some good use out of it before it needs to be replaced.

36-grit is my go-to starting grade for sanding softwood projects. Since my ‘first-cut’ papers get well-used and experience brief service lives, the concept of a consumable sanding block is quite appropriate.
This block served me well on small flat areas and re-entrant corners. Where it really shined was applying its various contours and edges to irregular surfaces. Its profiles can be applied to linear moldings and routed edges.
I saved some well-used bits to touch up some spindles and discovered that the smaller bits served well to address errant paint and glue. So, now it is the case that I virtually never throw these away – they just vanish with use on smaller and smaller details!.
I used this sanding sponge to help me refinish a set of coffee tables. These tables were probably 20+ years old and had a heavy stain finish to be removed. I used this 36 grit sanding sponge in the early stage to remove the bulk of the stain.
The sponge is comfortable to hold, and very durable. I was able to sand three tables with a single sponge, and it is still usable. I used many grits to get the finished product, but this heavy grit made quick work of the bulk of it.
