20 Best Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery (2023 Updated)

After success with two out of three new batteries, it was determined that the third new battery didn’t even respond when attached into the phone for its initial chargeup. ALL of the batteries, including the original battery that came with the phone sometimes discharge after being fully charged, and removed out of the phone.

Perhaps after just the initial charging, the battery memory is imprinted onto the unit itself. I performed a controlled experiment, with detailed results. The original battery, after being fully charged does hold 99% of its charge after fourty-eight hours out of the phone.

Second battery did retain 100%, and the third also 100%. 3 out of 4, so seventy-five percent success rate. Obviously, results may vary. Still a dependable battery as looking for.

This is a great price for an older cell phone battery. Sadly, the reason we needed it was because the old battery, which didn’t fail, swelled up to fat in the middle, so I knew it had pressure inside it.

It is actually the second new battery. In both cases, I think we were part of the problem,we left it on the charger continuously, so perhaps being overcharged all the time, and no change to run down, or through a normal charge/discharge cycle.

The primary reason to seek a new battery is that the original battery you have doesn’t last as long as you want it to. I did not have unrealistic expectations from this 2800 mAh battery, except I thought it would last 12 hours on the run from 8 AM to 8 PM.

It’s been 5 days since I’m using this product and I’m yet to see a day in which the battery doesn’t drop to 10% by 2 PM in the afternoon. That’s actually worse than the 2 year old battery which this was intended to replace.

I had a failing Samsung battery for my Galaxy S5. I was a little worried because some reviews said that the new battery they bought was just as bad as their old failing batter. This was not the case for the battery I received.

The new battery I purchased lasts just as long as a typical new battery. No problems. VERY SATISFIED!.

it looks and functions about right. but the only thing is its life is short. i need to charge my phone after just several hours after it has 100 % charged. In other words, i need to charge my phone more often.

and there’s not much app running.

When first arrived, I had a bit of scare, because of the insane hot weather that day, the package was HOT! so was the battery, I decided to let it cool down before using it. When I plugged the battery in the phone, I saw it go from 60% to 58% within a 3 minute timespan, Which scared me for good measure.

When I went to recharge it, it seems to take a long time, thinking it wasn’t working and the charging was broken or something. But it was just slow, I honestly hope it doesn’t become a problem in the future, but overall the battery seems to be doing fine, no issues at the moment.

I honestly recommend it as it arrived within a couple days of the purchase, which I’m happy with, and I got what I purchased. I only wished I had received it on a cooler day, because I’m just worried the heat might’ve cause some problems.

I only needed a new battery because the last one was kinda puffy, which worried me.

The battery has performed perfectly with the phone only having to be recharged every 2nd to 3rd day whereas the previous generic cbranded battery would have to be charged at least once a day and often, twice a day.

It is a huge relief to be able to use the phone without having to constantly worry about the battery going flat. I can get 3 to 4 days out of it if I turn off WiFi, Internet and Location. Get the real battery – they are far better than the generic alternatives which I have found do not work as well.

It works fine. But does retain charge as long as the original Samsung battery that came with the phone, even though it is labelled as a Samsung battery with identical markings as my original. Cannot prove if it a fake or original but lasts 30% longer than my aging original.

The battery did a good job close enough to the original. Sometimes you pay for the overpriced original product on the market only to be let down on poor performance, but this is actually performing better than I had expected based on sales value.

Though a do noticed a significant difference from my original battery that came with the phone in terms of in-use drop rate but it nothing major that warrant a defect. As a low smart feature user. I.

e social media, the battery tend to last on a full charge for about 12 hours without battery saver on. in terms of durability?. I hope it will stand the test of time,if one get 2year quality use out of this then why pay more.

Overall it’s a superb replacement at a reasonable price.

*NOTE: This review is NOT for the Mobilitee battery, it was written for a ‘genuine’ Samsung battery. The Mobilitee one seems good so far. Edit: After using the Mobilitee battery for a few months I can confirm it is a very good battery* I fitted this new battery and did a full re-calibration to ensure it took a full charge.

In use, it seems to be worse than my 4 year old original battery. It claims to be NFC capable, but doesn’t appear to actually work with NFC devices, so I suspect that’s just printed on the battery to make it look more genuine.

As a cheap spare battery its ok, but if you want long life don’t buy one.

First of all, I question whether or not this battery was original. I think it was either not original or used battery. I bought this battery to replace the old battery that kept on losing its charge quickly.

The new battery for the first day was good, holding its charge, however unfortunately on the second day the battery just lost its charge. Now it is worse than the old one I had. I just wish I kept the old battery, as it gave me more of a hold on the charge then this new one.

Not sure if I was just unlucky or if the battery I received was a used one or one that wasn’t original.

I remember when I bought 3 couple of batteries from this company for replacement I have come to the conclusion that some batteries goes slow after charging, like 2% low even not in use. At times, it shuts down the mobile and I reopen turns to 54%.

Then, when I charge back it gets up really quick like 5%. So it is really weird. That’s why I bought a new one. But I hope that this one I bought does not repeat the same thing because it’s really upsetting that I have to shut down my phone and then on it to use it.

Even when it’s off it takes the battery down even though most of the apps are uninstalled. Another thing is, when charging the battery for couple of months it gets big. So that’s one of the other issue.

I give it 3 because it’s a good battery but invaluable.

I bought one of these for my Samsung Galaxy S5. The battery works well and holds a charge but the NFC no longer works even though Near Field Communication is printed on the battery. (NFC worked fine before) It is possible I have the wrong battery but on the original, you can clearly see a square NFC antenna outline under the surface of the battery and that doesn’t exist on the replacement which makes me suspicious.

Also it came in an envelope (no original packaging). If you just want a battery this is good value for money but use caution if you plan to use NFC.

I had a real problem trying to find a genuine Samsung galaxy 5 battery. There are so many fake one. I even had one exlode on me. This one seems genuine as far as anyone can tell with all the fakes on Ebay.

This seller answered my email quickly and it holds it’s charger longer than the battery I had in. I am pleased so far but only time will tell. You almost feel you want to hold your feedback for a year to give it a good testing.

Bought this product for to replace the original manufacturer’s phone battery that I was having to charge two or three times a day. The phone was getting very _HOT when I was both (Using and charging the phone up.

) From a Full 100% charge on a night time, in the morning the phone was down to around about 40% left. New Replacement battery installed and the different was amazing?. The phone charges up really fast and it only gets a little bit warm now when you charge it, not red hot like the old one did.

I bought this as a backup battery for my phone. I often wonder if they are a genuine product and in this case it is. When I received it I fully charged it and tested it in my phone for a few days and it’s perfect.

So I now have a great backup battery should my current one fail. If you need a battery for your S5 Mini than you’ll do well to get this one.

After a few charges, I had to keep my phone on constant charge to work, or cahrge every 10 mins. Waste of money

I bought this as a replacement battery for my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) but returned it after one week. See details below. Major issues: + The battery worked but didn’t behave like a new battery, not holding a charge well, as compared to the previous two batteries I’ve had for this phone.

For example, it would discharge from 100% to 20% in 2 to 3 hours of moderate use (email, web browsing, social media over strong wifi with screen on dimmest setting). + The battery was slightly too long for my S5, but it was able to eventually fit with a little “encouragement.

” Potential minor issues: + The battery I received was not the battery pictured on the Best Buy product page. (However, the labeling on the battery still indicated compatibility with the Galaxy S5. ) + The battery’s UltraLast product packaging was not sealed.

(However, the battery was shipped directly from Dantona/UltraLast, so this might’ve merely been the result of their shipping procedures and not indicative of tampering. ) Overall, I expected better performance from an allegedly new battery.

Compared to the previous two batteries for my S5 (the original Samsung battery and a third-party replacement battery with the same specs), when new, this battery greatly underperformed. Giving UltraLast the benefit of the doubt, I’m hoping that this one battery was just a dud, but I’ll keep shopping around.

For the price l think it was a good buy–we’ll see how it performs 6 months from now. Still fairly early to make a solid review. When I first got the battery it was already charged to 60 % which I believe is a quality control issue done before the battery is sent out from the factory.

When I first charged the battery it was having a hard time hitting a 100% charge but after charging overnight the issue corrected itself and has not reoccured. As long as the screen is not left on continually, the battery pretty much levels out as far as battery charge is concerned and lasts all day and l end the day at 50 to 60% charge remaining.

This is the only aftermarket battery I’ve found that has the embedded near-field antenna AND also meets all the OEM battery specs. It is not a knock-off battery nor one that uses inferior non-matched cells.

The price is reasonable.

I received my new S5 cell phone battery, today. So far, it works great. The previous one that I purchased on Ebay, from another vendor, had a very low charge and kept losing power quickly. My new one was almost fully charged and isn’t losing power as quickly.

This battery (EB-BG900BBE) will replace an EB-BG900BBZ battery, but it is slightly longer so that it’s a bit hard to insert — you have to push kinda hard to get it in. Otherwise it is fully compatible.

Of course, don’t expect it to last as long as the original as lithium batteries age on the shelf. All in all, looks like a very good buy.

Since comments below I have checked the battery, as I noticed my phone was very low on charge very quickly. I thought if this was a new original battery the charge should last longer than my old battery.

Also today I noticed that the battery was swelling ! Which is a real problem! Now will probably have to replace my old battery & spend more money purchasing elsewhere! Not happy! This is the correct battery for my phone; after purchasing the wrong item from other suppliers.

There are many batteries on the market claiming to be for my model phone; which I found to be not the case.

Product was well presented and very easy to install. It came with sufficient charge (59%) to allow quick verification and holds its charge extremely well. The product replaces an original one (now 5 years old) and has given the original mobile a new lease of lift.

Thankfully someone who is a great ebayer still offers these batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S5. I buy a new pair about every 10 months and keep the old gal going strong. Don’t go the cheap route with higher mAh ratings, stick with the original Samsung batteries and you won’t regret it.

I was worried that replacing the battery wouldn’t solve the issue with my phone turning off with more than 20% battery charge remaining. I was wrong. now my charge lasts the entire day without any issues.

At first I was leaning toward other batteries which boasted higher capacities. After carefully looking at the pictures of all competing batters and reading reviews I adopted the viewpoint that the physics of packing more capacity into a batter of this size may be exaggerated.

I’ve had a 7,000mAh battery before in an S3, and it was much bigger than this battery. Once I decided I could live with the lower, but likely more accurate mAh reading on this battery, I ordered it. It’s working exactly as I hoped it would, no charging issues common to other battery manufacturers where you plug it in for hours, unplug it and find out it’s at, say, 60% charge when it said 100% before you unplugged it.

I would not hesitate to order this batter again. If you’re on the fence about ordering this batter or some other battery I would stop looking and just order this battery. I don’t think you’re likely to be disappointed.

Oh, and a nice plus is that in comparison to the previous high mAh batteries for the S3 at least, this is a lower profile and lighter battery. The phone is noticeably thicker and heavier, but not annoyingly so especially since I can squeeze 2 days of use out of it.

Excellent products. The battery lasts over twice as long as my regular battery when I first bought the phone. And it doesn’t take twice as long to charge as I thought. The case is very nice, they ran out of the black so I had to order the white one, which I like a lot now.

Customer Service is very responsive and easy to work with. They waive the shipping charge on my rubber cases because I accidentally ordered the battery and case on separate orders, just had to email them the order numbers.

I had high hopes for this product. The extended battery is a godsend and I was thrilled to find a soft cover for my phone after the battery upgrade, but alas the cover didn’t fit well at all. It just doesn’t snap on the edges like it should and the small piece by the power port just flopped in the breeze.

To the company’s credit, they sent me a new one to see if the first one was a dud, but the second one was the same. Too bad too cuz I really wanted it to work! Maybe you’ll have better luck, but you’ve been warned!.

The instructions on disassembly missed one screw, top center just under the cushioning for the bezel. Put new battery in plugged in the charger and was rewarded with a blinking yellow LED. Reading up on the condition, the blinking yellow light indicates the battery is not charging.

Left it plugged up for 3 days hoping it would start to charge, no luck. Pulled the battery and plugged in the charger and same result, no battery no charge so what I read rang true. Long story short the battery arrived dead and could not be charged.

Returned to Walmart and was disappointed to find I could not get a refund. I will have to send to original seller. No advantage to ordering from Walmart. Bad experience all around.

Way too difficult for the average person. Use your old tablet until the battery is cold dead. During that time, pick up a new one on sale at Costco and have it ready for when the old one dies. This is NOT like changing a battery in a flashlight.

the battery does not hold a charge, gets about 1/2 a day out of a charge, no more than the old battery I replaced. At one time, the old battery would stay charged for days before I would have to recharge it, then as of late, I would need to charge it twice a day (at least).

So I decided to get a new battery, so the new battery that I ordered does not stay charged any longer than the old battery.

This really helped my Mother-in-Law. She’s on the older side and she’s used to her flip phone. Getting these batteries really gave us peace knowing that she can get in touch with us anytime. I definitely recommend buying from here.

Worked like a charm. The original phone battery was dying in about 1-2 hours with very little use. This new battery lasts 24 hours. It took a few charges to build up to full charge capacity and I am sure that there is a better procedure than I used to achieve full charge capacity.

I bought this battery from Battery Mart as a replacement for the original spare that I’d purchased with my S4. I’d started having problems with the phone shutting it self off as it neared 70% battery level.

It was so bad the phone wouldn’t even stay on for the full startup. I dropped this battery in and turned it on with a residual charge of 55% and VOILA!!. the phone started up and remained on during the entire recharge to 100%.

I always look first to Battery Mart for replacement or spare batteries for everything from Auto to electronics.

So far so good, it held charge longer than my original replacement OEM. I’ve allowed it drain completely then recharge a few times(kinda like a break in period). Will order some more as I’ve clinged on to the S4 for so long, no need to upgrade.

I was having a big problem with my old battery shorting out my phone. Before I spent hundreds of $$$$$ I figured I would try a new battery. The replacement battery I ordered from BestBuy works great! Lasts at least 24 hrs.
