24 Best Pull On Work Boots For Men (2023 Updated)

I purchased a pair because of the price. I noted the “leather boot with man made inner” Once I waterproofed them they became just a manmade inner/outer the heel broke in half the first week I got them the heel was made of compressed wafers of cardboard.

Not wood. Not the usual Rubber, Cardboard!! some wood glue and extra nails had the heel repaired but these boots are not meant to be worn , despite the description of being tough and durable. Anyone considering Old West Men’s Boots because of the price please rethink and save up the extra fifty bucks and buy some real boots.

Tractor Suply sells quality name brand boots at a fair price and have occaisional bargins. I would not recommend Old West Men’s Boots to a homeless man because he could find a better hand me down pair of boots at a local charity shop.

Fact!.

I’ve been dealing with Sheplers for at least 30 years and always have gotten a bang for my hard earned dollars. As a trucker these boots are perfect with there slip resistant soles at a fuel island for example.

(note; resistant, not slip proof) For the price these boots are well worth every penny. Depending on your work environment and how well one takes care of them, these boots will last at least two years or so.

Bang for your buck? You bet it is. Save your 2, 3, $400. 00+ boots for boot scooting with you lady. These boots are good looking enough, I got an extra pair for Sunday go to meeting if needed. For a time Sheplers didn’t have these slip resistant Trucker boots available.

I’m so pleased they are back. Thank you Sheplers for your fine affordable Western Ware Products and looking out for us needing to pinch pennies at times. 30+ years a pleased customer. (Don’t drop your Old West Trucker Western Work Boots with slip resistant soles again).

My first pair of Old West Truck Western Work Boots to add to my collection. Very satisfied with quality, look and fit. I prefer leather sole to rubber but will give these a fair trial. Sheplers has never disappointed me.

Looking forward to breaking these in.

These boots started out great when I bought them in April of 2021. I had to get used to walking with the wedge style sole, not a problem. In August I blew out one of the eye hooks, it literally broke in two, the front away from the back (rivet came undone).

I lived with them that way for another few months. Then in November, the same thing happened, now outside of the 6 month warranty. I took them to a Red Wing store and they told me they could fix them, no problem, only about $6 an eye.

I told them that was a problem for me, not financially, but just the fact they wouldn’t stand behind the craftsmanship. Since the second eye came off, I started wearing my old boots from another manufacturer about every other day.

I barely had many miles put on the Wingshooter. I replaces the laces with paracord after having one lace shred (maybe from the eye?), and decided to do that with all my boots. I had an old pair of Irish Setters that I wore right into the ground, they lasted MANY years, so I hoped to get the same from these Wingshooters.

not the case. If this is how they will hold up, I will never buy another pair, especially with the limited warranty. I’m enclosing a pic of my boots, you can see they have little wear, just missing the eyes.

I was looking for a waterproof boot for the winter months and wanted to try Red Wing or Irish Setter again. I did not have much luck several years ago but now lived in Minnesota and have several Red Wing dealers close by.

I wore these boots for about 4 weeks. I had applied leather conditioners before wearing but they never seem to feel broken in even after several weeks. My feet have never hurt so bad. I went back to the store to see if there was a return option.

I was just a few days past the 30 day guarantee at this point. The manager said there was not a return or exchange option but that he would “make me a great deal on another pair of boots. ” I said I just spent $200 on these and why would I want to spend more money on a another pair of boots.

I have been wearing Thorogood boots for the last 8 years without a single comfort or construction issue. Again I thought I would try Red wing because of manufacturing issues, I was not finding the Thorogoods in my size but needed new boots before the winter came.

I continue to wear them because of the money spent but can’t wait for spring so I can switch back to my Thorogoods. I will never spend my money on another Red Wing or Irish Setter product.

IšverstiShow in original languageThese boots are comfortable for work and walking long distances. I have the same boots in pink and have been looking for a pair in purple for some time. As the style has been updated with the side zip, I didn’t think I would find any older stock.

They are great; I alternate between both colours outside of work and for work have steel blue boots with side zip. Thank you for your great service.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe boot had fit me fine at the store, but not much padding in it and since I’m walking on concrete all day, I need good support. I bought some insole while I was there.

I cut them out and placed them in the boot. When I put the boots back on and walking in them to break them in, they are now too tight on the top due to the added cushion. Hopefully they will break in and loosen up as I wear them, but the overall boot, I’m very happy with.

The guy next door came over and said “wow look at those boots!” as i was showing them off we noticed that I’m wearing 2 different boots! one was yellowish and the other was brown.

IDK if the employees switched them up in the store or what was going on. So with that being said don’t just try on one boot at the store, look at them both before buying.

Super sturdy and he wears them All day long for farming, fishing, dirt buke riding and working in garage. I am told that they are very comfortable.

IšverstiShow in original languageI really like my boots and the fit is fine. The only thing I don’t like is that the right boot, although laced up tight, has bulging sides. I can’t tighten them up anymore and it’s still loose.

The left boot isn’t like that. It’s weird because the right boot has more of a gap at the laces looking like it isn’t as tight as the left, but it’ll be in fact tighter. I think it was too big of a cut for the side peices.

Emailed Thorogood about it thinking possibly another defective pair (the first pair was definitely defective with the leather at the sole bunching up where you foot would bend) I sent those back. I recon I would expect a little better quality on these boots, but not unhappy with them.

They are comfortable. Much more than my Redwings. I think Redwing is a better quality boot once you break them in. Thorogood is ready to wear right out of the box. All in all, I might buy another pair of Thorogoods, but might try another brand for comparison.

Buying boots is a big deal for me. I think others would agree.

When I could not order them online and the closet store is 50 miles away and they would not answer phone so I left message and they never called back I started looking for other brands then my son in law told me about Thorogood boots I checked them out and ordered a pair.

Best choice I made. You have gained another customer for life. They are the most comfortable boots, fit is perfect and construction seems very well. You gained a customer for life. And I will tell everyone.

IšverstiShow in original languageHave been delayed in writing this review but so happy I received an email to remind me. Well let me start by saying, these boots Saved my Son’s Foot! My son is a Local 5 Iron worker, and since his Apprenticeship started, he has worn these boots.

Well worth the money! My son will be finishing his Apprenticeship June 2022, with his foot intact Thanks to these boots. He recently (June 9)had the unfortunate accident, while moving a pallet Jack onto a hoist.

The pallet Jack slipped off the 2×4 needed to load the Jack onto the hoist. (Safety Flaw-now noted), and it slipped onto his foot. While this accident could have had a worse outcome this Steele toe boots Saved His FOOT! Since this accident, the Safety Inspector asked if he could have the damaged boot as a Safety Demonstration, as to why Steele toed boots are required.

IšverstiShow in original languageDespite everybody’s great reviews, I didn’t even get 4 months out of mine. The foam in the sole is my first complaint, it flattened out before anything. Started hurting my back only a few months into wearing them.

The heel was next, soft material opened way up so no side heel support at all. Lastly the sole is coming loose at the toe. Definitely NOT worth the money I spent on them, very disappointed.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought these for my son. He has lots of ankle and foot issues so boots usually hurt his feet, but he likes them so he just deals with it. He wore these for the firdt time to a wedding and reception, so all day and most of the night.

When we got home he told me his feet didn’t hurt at all and that he could easily wear these to school all day without foot pain. He is so happy to finally have nice boots to wear without suffering!.

IšverstiShow in original languagePopped these bad boys open today. I wear size 11 men’s. The conflicting size reviews convinced my to go a half size up. Size 11. 5 fits like an 11. 5. I don’t mind the extra room plus I need these boots now.

I will not be sending them back. These boots will definitely be broken in! Size fits to size and they are beautiful. It’s a bit heartbreaking to think these will be abused in a wood shop. The insoles are not as nice as my last pair of Durangos.

But the steel toe and water resistance its worth it. Time to break these bad boys in!.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis boots have a softer more flexible rubber which I like very much. Usually after a few months the boots crack where the foot bends. I was proactive and duct taped where the cracks formed on my other boots- they didn’t last 6 months.

No cracks. But the heels inside have been rubbed have worn down. OUCH! I should have put heel protectors in when they are new, if I had known, because nothing sticks to them. My last boots didn’t have this issue.

I know that bog sells boot with some heel reforced thing but they are SO uncomfortable. Like wads of foam. But then they probably wear down eventually too. They aren’t wearable anymore. They have rubbed by heels with blisters.

Trying other things like double socks but really hot, heel protectors- won’t stick, duct tape- won’t stick. Sad. Love them otherwise.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis marks my 3rd pair of Ariat boots. They’re my 3rd pair because I’m addicted to boots not because the other ones wore out. I have to say this particular pair is my favorite.

They are by far the most comfortable yet they give your foot the support that’s needed to complete tasks around your property. My feet do not fatigue after wearing these for 12 hours. The materials used in them are top notch.

If your doing chores or putting in hours on the clock these boots are up for it. Heck, they look so good that I even wear them when I’m going out on the town. Only time I wouldn’t wear these boots is if I was running frequently; if that were the case I’d look for a boot with laces.

As far as the sizing goes, I typically wear a regular width 9. 5 maybe a 10 sometimes in most tennis shoes. When it comes to Ariat boots I need to size down by a 1/2 size. A size 9 in these fit me perfectly with normal socks.

If you’ve never owned a pair before I would recommend going to a retailer and trying a pair of any Ariats on first to verify the sizing. They’re sizing is consistent from boot model to boot model. I’ve had these for three weeks now and have worn them every day.

I know it’s extremely early in their life but absolutely no complaints at this time. Get yourself a pair, I think you’ll like em’.

IšverstiShow in original languageI love my Ariat, but for some reason this specific style required a longer break-in time than my WorkHog XT Work Boots and my Big Rig Work Boots. Both of those required almost no break-in period.

With the WorkHog Work Boots unfortunately I had to wear only for a few hours then switch to other work shoes until they were fully broken in which was far more of a hassle. For reference I walk a guaranteed 7,500-10,000 to steps a day on concrete, gravel, and climbing ladders.

In general Ariat will last me a little over a year (1 year, 2 or 3 months) before the sole starts to really show wear and the liner will rip. The Timberland Pros I used to use prior to switching to Ariat would start to have the sole separate from the shoe at about the 6 month mark, and cloth liner would wear through and absolutely ruin the foam beneath before the 1 year mark.

The Merrells before that started to have issue with the soles between 4-6 months. In my experience the Ariat work boots have been significantly more durable for only a little bit higher upfront cost.

IšverstiShow in original languageI can honestly say that this is easily the biggest letdown on a pair of Ariat boots. I have a pair over 5 years old that are in better shape than these after 3 weeks of moderate to “light” heavy work.

I am a pest professional, so needless to say I’m not putting these through the craziest conditions by any means but after 3 weeks the soles are already falling apart. Kinda ridiculous considering the price you charge for these.

Will probably try other products after this. Ariat used to be my go to brand, now they are slipping. Good luck. One final note, I really hope the waterproof capabilities of these boots doesn’t become compromised, that will definitely answer my question on whether or not your boots are even worth buying anymore.

Timberland pros are terrible boots, having these same problems. You two should never be in the same sentence, and now your products are comparable. Thats bad.

My Ariat workhogs have a more pointed toe, and they start to squeeze my pinky toe a little too much. My Justin square toe work boots seem too big and clunky, they feel like skis sometimes. I had my eye on these round toe boots for a while as a compromise between the two, and finally picked up a pair.

They are great and fit really well. They had enough extra room to fit some gel insoles in. They are quicky becoming my favorite. I oiled them up with Red Wing Boot oil and they broke in quickly. The heel is more subdued and so they are not as loud on hard floors.

I get tired of my work boots making alot of noise on tile and hard surfaces. I really like to sole, good traction in dirt and mud, but fairly easy to clean too. I grew up wearing only Red Wings, then switched to Ariat due to the work hog feeling lighter, and now I am definitely a big Justin fan for work boots.

Great boots, great price.

I have been wearing Justin boots for about 18 years and they have gone down will terribly. I bought my size and could not get my foot in the boot. Shelper’s was fantastic handling the refund. I got with Justin about the issue and their response was a certain type of ES series boots were running a half to one whole size small, try something else.

I am not sure knowing a boot or several types are small coming out of the factory and not letting retailers or consumers know is how quality companies operate. Letting a factory put out off spec products seems like poor quality management.

I don’t recommend Justin or their many other brands.

I gave a 3 star review, upon receiving the leather on the left boot was weird and wrinkly. The leather was dried out and seemed like it was ready to crack. I put some neatsfoot oil on them and that helped.

I also noticed a few flaws here and there. I love the rubber work boot type sole. These boots run big so I had to order a smaller size than my regular boots. Once broken in and worn for awhile I’ll review them again.

overall these boots seem alright like they’ll get the job done.

They look great. Kinda sad they are going to be abused! I may get another pair for “dress”. Great price, too.

IšverstiShow in original languageJust recieved today and they are my first cowboy style boot. They feel amazing right off the bat! Better feel than my old hiking boots these are partially replacing (not for hiking, I just wear them everywhere).

They are a little loose in the heel area compared to lace up boots but that is to be expected (or so I’ve read). I am surprised how spot on the size is just ordering online (from Boot Barn). I had to check the website for the EE width size for my old boot since it just said a generic “wide” on the tongue.

These are slightly tighter but not tight, just hugging my foot more, probably because my old boots are very broken in. We will see how long these last and how comfortable they are after I go to work today and stand around and walk a lot.

Build quality is definitely there. I got these specific boots for the steel toe, waterproof, and dark leather to match my jacket. (I’ll edit with update if I can/remember).

I’ve bought 8 different brands of work boots to this point and I believe these are one of, if not the best/most durable work boot on the market. Excellent job Rocky. Give your material purchasing and designers a raise for this one.

He tried these out and FELL IN LOVE. The break-in period was less than a day, and his feet no longer hurt after a day at work! He says they are the most comfortable boots he has ever owned or worked in.

I highly recommend these for the hardworking man. I couldn’t change the presets for this review, but if I could have, it would be GREAT in every category. They fit him true-to-size, they are durable, and comfortable!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had these boots for 10+ years. They are not my everyday boot as I wear safety boots at work, but these are my go-to boots for work around the house and everyday wear.

I have only bought one pair of fancy boots since these but can only stand to wear those on a night out bc I have been spoiled by these durangos. I would buy them again but these have lasted forever! I would have to get boots every 6 months at work mostly bc soles wear out or separate from boot.

The soles on these boots may show 25% wear over 10+ years.

No hot spots throughout the day. They don’t scuff easy. Good leather! Good traction on wet surfaces. I live in the northwest. I am pleased so far. BTW, I am 6’4″ 300lbs. I don’t wear boots nicely. I know when a boot feels good.

IšverstiShow in original languageI started buying these boots about 4 years ago. My first 2 pair were great! I have terrible feet and ankles and LOVED how stiff the leather was not only for ankle support but for longer wear.

With the stiff leather, these were the first boot that I found that actually worked for me putting in 12-14 hour days on the concrete as well as on the farm. This most recent pair the leather is super soft, not providing much support and loosened very fast.

I have been wearing them to get my money’s worth out of them, but I need a new pair and not sure if I try another pair if the leather is going to be soft and not provide me with any ankle support. If they go back to a stiffer leather, I would buy these forever.

I absolutely love these boots because of their comfort and aesthetic appeal – they truly are the most comfortable boots and age beautifully.

Keep reading. I wish I could give the new pair a 5 star review, but after putting my new pair on, specifically the right shoe, I noticed the upper/lacing area was noticeably off center. Whoever stitched/made my pair attached this area substantially off center.

It doesn’t affect the integrity of the boot but it does look downright goofy and forces me to question the quality control Georgia Boot enforces. Something like this could have been avoided by implementing better quality control procedures – paying a single employee to open each pair of purchased shoes and checking off certain measures.

I imagine my right shoe should have either been thrown out, donated, or re-stitched. I love these boots more than the several other boots I’ve owned, including $250+ Carolina and Chippewa boots, but I was simply given a “blemished” pair of boots.

I am fine with overseas manufacturing as it lowers the cost and doesn’t necessarily affect the quality, but when you do outsource the manufacturing to China, Vietnam, Korea, etc. , quality control is crucial.

In my opinion these are the highest rated and ‘prettiest’ boots Georgia Boot make. Maybe consider adding it to your “Made in USA” line? I’d gladly pay an extra 50 bucks to ensure top-notch quality. I want to keep purchasing this specific boot, but I’m left unsure now.

IšverstiShow in original languageBoots designed to last with comfort every step of the way. I work a relatively medium duty job, but the boots have definitely seen some hard work periodically. From weld shops to sludge, I’ve had the same pair for just over 5 years, and they have held up great.

Albeit they probably should have been replaced before now. With my experience with other brands/models, this is an easy repurchase, worth every penny.

They changed the design of the sole and now they are horrible! There is very little tread when they are new, so they become slick on the bottom very quickly.

Also, they REALLY hurt my feet. Because they hurt my feet so badly, I can’t wear them any more. I have only worn them for about 2 months and I have stopped wearing them. I tried different sole inserts and it makes no difference.

Until they change the design of them, there is no way I will buy another pair. I really hate to say it, but it’s the truth.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is my third and last pair of Georgia Boots. Look for other comments like mine before you buy these. My first pair lasted ten years. Then, the company changed hands and they ruined this model of boots.

I bought one pair, wore it out in a few years, bought this pair, and after a month said “I’m done. ” The soles are cheap. The rest of the boot is fine, but the soles on the new design are way worse than the original.

Georgia: bring back the old sole design and I will buy your boots for life. If not, I am done with this brand. Signed, A former loyal customer.

Ironically, our wonderful crisp fall like weather (October-ish) vanished the very day my Oxblood colored Pebbled Leather Dowler Boots arrived and full blown winter set in; hey its December in Chicago.

The obvious beauty of the boots made me want to just take them out of the box and look at them like a statue in an art exhibit, and not expose them to the brutal snow and ice immediately outside of my door.

Then my wife said, “you’ve waited a good three months for these boots wear them!” and as usual she can pretty much talk me into anything. So, I slid them on and the calming Vachetta Italian Leather engulfed my feet with a comfortable confidence that screamed, “hey lets go”.

Admittedly, I sprayed them with an additional blast of repellant, (Salt and Ice protection) and headed out the door. I was amazed at how well they gripped the icy side walk. The break-in time was pretty much immediate and my the wool sox I had on helped to keep my feet war.

so far I have worn them with cords and heavy woolens; jeans are next and they have only upgraded my style points. I love these boots, and I am looking forwarding to graceful aging that the wear on them will bring.

So I thank the artist and craftspeople at Beckett Simonon for yet another impeccable job well done. Looking forward to ordering my next pair. A tassel loafer maybe?.

My Oak Dowlers’ arrived much earlier than expected, which is totally all right with me. The shoes are top quality leather and construction. Thanks to a personal note, I know Sonia made my shoes and she does wonderful work.

The sizing was correct and my shoes fit exactly right. Because they are all leather, there will be a little break in period. The shoes are the perfect combination of dress and casual, and I know I will be wearing them proudly for many years to come.

Highly recommend Beckett Simonon for their quality shoes and excellent customer service. You will not be disappointed! I’ll be back.

I will be honest. When I first purchased these I thought I was buying boots like I would buy anything else. Order, get shipping info, have them in 5-7 days. I didn’t realize they were made to order and would take a couple months.

I thought about cancelling and just buying from a store that has stock of the boot I wanted. I’m so glad I didn’t! These guys and gals went above and beyond to truly make buying your boot an experience.

They were so involved with you the whole time so you never worry that your boots aren’t being made. They send you updates on almost every step and you get to experience what it takes for your boots to be made and even who will be making the boots.
