20 Best Protein Powder For Men’S Weight Loss (2023 Updated)

This is the best chocolate protein powder that I have tried – and I have tried a whole lot of them. Great taste, no chalky texture, and mixes easily. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a low carb protein powder.

The grass fed component literally taste like grass. It is great as far as aiding me in a good amount of protein after I work out, but nothing special as far as taste goes. Also, this will fill you up if you are looking for a meal replacement.

I did not like the taste of this product. I mix it with an equal part of Gold Standard Vanilla Whey so as not to waste it. I will not buy it again. Just my opinion.

I have to have a diet free of artificial sweeteners, so finding a protein powder that is free of them can prove to be difficult. Enter Isopure Unflavored Protein Powder – it is a lifesaver! First, as I do with all new supplements I mixed this with both cold and hot water to see if it was truly “unflavored” and to test how I would feel this product could best be utilized.

In cold water, it added the faintest taste of skim milk, in hot water I would compare it to tap water with a calcium feel. Both were great, had no off smell, and let me know that it would be wonderfully versatile.

Second, I tried this product mixed into hot soup, it did well on this test too and neither of the other two people in my house who tried it could even tell it had been added. Third, I tried it mixed into scrambled eggs – this was also a success and made the eggs feel richer in texture.

So far I have had great results adding it with instant coffee, ice, fiber, and cashew milk in the blender, it actually adds some of this missing creaminess that the cashew milk lacks. There is no problem adding this to hot teas, and the powder gives it the appearance of a splash of milk without altering the flavor.

This is great, mixed in with ice water. It still has the faint taste of skim milk, but that’s not a bad thing unless you don’t like milk. When consumed as a cold beverage with only water, I prefer to drink it out of solid colored glasses as the appearance of cloudy water is offputting.

Overall I would absolutely recommend this product and will purchase it again in the future.

Love that it’s zero carbs! I’m on Keto(Dirty Keto right now), and that’s definitely what made me choose this brand. Just add it to unsweetened vanilla almond milk or coconut milk, and you have a great tasting low carb protein drink.

I also suggest trying the cookies and cream, as that one is even better, I just add a little bit of peppermint extract and I have a delicious tasting shake. If you want an even better set up, freeze some almond milk in an ice tray and blend the frozen almond milk into the shake to have a frozen dessert.

Or if you are really adventurous frozen avocado can be substituted. But only if you like the idea of avocado ice cream. I wouldn’t recommend using just water to mix it into though, as that isn’t very good.

Also, remember that it’s Dirty Keto friendly, and not Clean keto friendly. I don’t think they could make a good tasting zero carb shake for Clean Keto though.

Absolutely love these protein powders. They are so tasty! The cookies and cream one tatses exactly like and Oreo milkshake from Eddie Rockets. The chocolate mint and strawberry shortcake are amazing as well.

Couldn’t recommend this enough. Have another 2kg of each on the way! Only downside is that it tastes gross if you mix it just with water so would recommend mixing with milk of any sort Goes Well With: Oat milk (to cut down on calories I do half oat milk and half water).

I had started taking MetRx back in 88 and havent stopped since on a daily schedule. Apple 3 cups juice or cider froz strawberrys Acai frozen fruit an a banana an now 1 packet of MetRx. From what I know, Back then it was developed for sick hospital patients who couldnt keep down solid food.

So you woukd mix two powders with liquid to get the shake. Now its a packet. I am in great health active at 57 w 3 kids. Its truly a great meal replacement and should be one of your meals however u make it, : maybe 1 1 cup of ice 1 cup of water 2 cups chocolate almond milk , a banana and one packet ether Vanilla or Chocolate MetRx , yummy.

I love it I think they made it thick now and that being able to be sick it stays in your stomach longer and absolutely eliminates that hunger pain that we all get. I love that but I did feel a large glass and it still came out like pudding but it’s better than being watery I can’t stand a watery protein drink forget about it.

I purchased it to reduce my weight because I get steroid shots in my spine and they make me gain about 30 to 40 lb and a very short time then I have to lose it again which is why my skin is flabby under my arms you can’t win but we get closer to the finish line.

I have been using Met-rx Meal Replacement since back in the 90s. It was back when it was called Total Nutrition Drink Mix. The original vanilla flavour is something I never get tired of. Great taste and the thickness is just right, even when blended with just water.

This is a great way to get all the necessary nutrients you need on a daily bases. It even give me piece of mind and a sense of well being.

I previously gave them a bad review. This is because of their deceptive labeling. The container says 60 grams of protein per serving. But that is for 2 servings, not 1 scoop. So just like most of the other protein powders sold it has 30 grams of protein per scoop.

Using 2 scoops is not only twice the cost, but the taste would be off unless you are drinking a quart size drink. However, to me it’s the best tasting of the protein powders that I have tried. As a matter of fact if you make it with coconut water, frozen fruit, some avocado for creaminess, and cinnamon it’s actually really delicious.

I add collagen powder too for hair, nails, and skin. Their protein isolate version of this product is a healthier more effective type of protein, but costs much more and does not taste nearly as good.

This is not organic if that’s important to you. But they use artificial sweetener not sugar – if you are watching the sugar and are cutting back on carbs. There is an unusual (to me) instruction on the package that advises you to consume your protein smoothie within 15 minutes of making it.

I called the manufacturer for a better explanation as that makes no sense to me. Unfortunately, the representative could not explain the reasons behind this – and I would still love to know why. You can buy premixed protein shakes at your local convenience store, and they were likely mixed months ago.

So what gives? Bottom line; same number of grams of protein as other products with (again to me) the best taste. So yes, I use this one. This 5 pound container is the best value, most are 2 pounds.

Taking this immediately after heavy gym workouts usually means my subsequent muscle fatigue and pain is dramatically reduced the next morning.

Recovery is so fast sometimes, it’s shocking. The trick is, to take a serving no more than 30 minutes after workout. I live 10 minutes from my gym, so I hustle home and down two scoops mixed in my electric blender.

Most chocolate flavored Whey Proteins I’ve tried are flat out nasty. Body Fortress Chocolate is not quite as bad, but similar. I’ve also had better Strawberry and Vanilla flavored proteins. So I’ve tried all the Body Fortress flavors, and like the Peanut Butter and Cookies & Cream the best.

I’m giving it 5 stars because I can’t think of anything I dislike about it? You got huge amounts of protein per serving, lots of BCAA’s (to help recovery), low sugar, low carbs, creatine, leucine, FANTASTIC PRICE.

Literally, half the cost of other brands that don’t offer anything more than this does. Can’t think of any reason to give it a 4 stars or less?? Thumbs up!!.

I only use protein powder once a day – in the morning in my proats. It seems like there’s so many new protein powders coming out and with my consumption (and personal stock) its hard for me to try new ones.

I was fortunate enough to get a trial pack from RSP in Chocolate. The proteins I have at home are either straight casein or a casein blend – just because i like my proats real thick. I typically don’t buy isolate/concentrate blends, so I was curious to see how this one stacked up in oatmeal.

Macrowise its pretty good. 130 calories nets you 25 grams of protein so 77% of a scoop is protein. nice. I see they added in some digestive enzymes (papain/protease) which is an added plus. I saw a bunch of thickening agents in here so I was hopeful it would mix up thicker than your usual isolate/concentrate whey.

I only tried this in oatmeal but i was pleasantly surprise that it mixed up a bit thicker than I had expected. taste wise, the chocolate was very good. RSP put a nice touch to it – to me it tasted more of a milk chocolate ala a candy bar instead of your typical run of the mill chocolate whey proteins.

Overall I liked/enjoyed RSP Whey. When I finally finish up my current stash I will definitely consider purchasing it.

I have been using protein powders for a few years now and there are two brands I would recommend and purchase out of all the brands on the market. This is one of them and the second is the current brand I use.

For me personally the price along with the amount of protein you get in this (only 16g per serving) isn’t enough to make me switch from my current brand which is $37 for a 4lb tub and has 24g of protein per serving.

I like how easily this blends, although it’s not a very rich flavor (unlike my current brand) and it doesn’t leave an aftertaste or tase chalky which is awesome. Overall I like this and if my current brand would ever go out of business I’d switch to this brand.

I ordered the banana flavor. It was delicious and blended well. No clumpiness. This mix is a whey isolate. That means no bloating. I felt full as well with lots of energy. Since I also use MCT in the morning, I use this shake for dinner.

This shake is great for weight control, with no loss of energy, and using good fats. I recommend this as a great addition to your daily regimen.

I made a drink with this for the first just now, and it is so horrible that I sat down to write a review. The flavor is nothing like the bottled drinks. (If you read the other reivews you’ll see they say similar things.

) Secondly, it tastes nothing like coffee. I can’t describe what the flavor is other than it’s closer to a french vanilla than anything else. I had to dump some espresso in our large drinks and it still doesn’t taste like coffee.

Lastly, it tastes like a powdered drink, which I realize it is, but good powdered drinks don’t taste this badly.

We had searched online for the Jay Robb Egg White protein 80oz and clicked the link that displayed the Egg White photo to Pharmaca. Unknowingly, that link brought us to the Whey protein 80oz, nearly identical packaging and we bought the Whey protein.

Be careful when trusting the search results and the products they’re linked to. My wife hates the JR whey but loves the JR Egg white. Disappointed in the entire purchase.

This product is amazing for after workouts. Are use this after games and after practice. Blends well with water and the taste is great. Really affordable and easy to get on Amazon. Last a while and stays mixed with water throughout the day.

Yessss this powder is SO good! I am SO happy to finally have a protein powder that is not sweetened with Stevia! While I totally understand not wanting to sweeten with sugar, it seems every powder I have found only uses Stevia or erythritol as a sweetener, and I have developed an intense dislike for the flavor and lingering aftertaste of these sweeteners.

It’s like having a blanket of Splenda on your tongue that you can’t get off. I have been using other Orgain protein powders, and I’ve had to come up with the right blend of dairy and oatmilk which masks the Stevia taste enough for me to enjoy it.

This new powder is SO great though! It’s sweetened with coconut sugar, which I love! I can use whatever milk I want and it always tastes so good that I just gulp it right down! It’s also a little less grainy then the other Orgain powder I use, which is really nice.

I have the chocolate flavor, and I intend to get the vanilla flavor once I go through my current tub. **My one wish for this product is to develop a few more flavor choices. I have been searching for a strawberry or strawberry banana protein powder, to no avail for the longest time.

I’ve always avoided protein powders because I couldn’t find any without non-nutritive sweeteners like stevia/monk fruit/aspartame/etc. and that were also dairy and gluten free (allergies). I realize that’s a lot to ask of a powder but Orgain knocked it out of the park! This powder is made with SIMPLE, nutrient-rich ingredients, tastes amazing, and blends into everything.

I love that it is just lightly sweetened with actual sugar (coconut sugar). It is amazing mixed into yogurt and blended into smoothies. My kids love it too! I’ve ordered the PB flavor twice and can’t wait to try the other flavors! The price per carton is a bit steep but the subscribe and save option shaves off a good bit.

I’ve recently adopted a primarily plant based diet and needed a simple and easy way to supplement my protein needs, especially when suffering from poor appetite. I’m so glad to have found Orgain SIMPLE.

I first tried the regular Orgain plant based powder and hated it, but then I decided to try Orgain SIMPLE. I’m a big fan of the SIMPLE line because it does not have erythritol, which not only tastes funny to me but also causes gastrointestinal upset.

My staple is the Chocolate Peanut Butter, available through Costco. It’s very tasty and has more fiber than the 3 standard flavors. I add collagen powder, peanut powder, chia seeds, frozen banana, ice, and water (or coffee if I need a boost) to provide about half of my daily protein and fiber needs in one shake.

If I’m just mixing a SIMPLE powder with water or almond milk, vanilla is my favorite flavor. It’s also delicious blended, and even more so using chai tea instead of water as the base. Peanut Butter is my next favorite flavor, especially for sprinkling on a breakfast cereal.

It also makes a delicious shake. If you like the taste of peanut, you’ll like it a lot. The regular chocolate is ok. It’s not that the Chocolate SIMPLE tastes bad. Plain chocolate flavor is just typically not a top choice for me.

If chocolate is your top pick flavor, you’ll like it. Makes a tasty chocolate milk or even a hot chocolate. I also plan on experimenting with making SIMPLE fro-yo and cookies since I’m having trouble getting my dad excited about shakes to supplement his protein needs.

If you order online, you can take advantage of sales and stock up since it’s got a long shelf life. It’s nice having a bunch of food on my shelf. Less trips to the store is a giant plus right now.

I bought the Blueberry Muffin Whey Protein Powder today at my local GNC. I have used 3 other Alanis Nu products in the past, including the Confetti Cake Protein Powder, which tasted amazing. However this Blueberry Muffin flavor is so bad.

I had high hopes for this one after having good experiences with other products. Not only does it taste nothing like Blueberry Muffins, it had a very artificial taste and just overall not good. I bought this container on sale over half off as well and it expires in a few months from now.

It was also the only one that was on sale, which should’ve raised my concern, but I thought I was getting a good deal. I truly don’t know if I can push through and complete this container, but I’m going to try.

I also took this with water, I don’t think that should mess with the taste too much. Rating for 2 star just because of the other 3 products I’ve bought in the past. Not for the Blueberry Muffin Whey Protein.

Do not recommend.

This protein is amazing! I have been lifting for over 8 years and have tried many types of protein and this is the first one that I am actually excited to consume. When I first got it and tasted it I had to refrain from having it multiple times a day.

The taste is addicting and it blends very easily. I didn’t get any stomach issues or bloating from this protein which is something I experienced with others. This is great to add in smoothies and tastes great with just water but even better in cold almond milk.

I HIGHLY recommend this flavor (confetti cake).
