20 Best Products For Low Porosity Natural Hair (2023 Updated)

I am a fan of the honey pomegranate leave in conditioner I’ve been using the conditioner for several months and I feel that my concerns have been corrected and or reversed and I have a smooth and even luck with all of my styles and my hair is doing really well doing the extreme heat which tends to freeze and dry my hair out most of all I’m happy because the porosity in the face has been corrected.

At least, I can say during the summer of 2021, that I have stopped having clinical low porosity problems throughout the edges – in the temple. I also bought the pomegranate and honey custard and the product works amazing on my hair, just a little last a long time.

Even though the porosity level is mixed throughout my head (scalp). However, in the centerpiece, of my head, I wear a bun that is a dread lock and the dreadlocks is very long (down to my derrière August 2009) because there is a mix combination of hair throughout my head and scalp; however, the dread seems to be enduring high porosity.

My hair journey with my alley in 2021 has been nothing short of Fabulous because of the point that I understand the crown of a woman’s hair is her glory and that the first elements are the temple the four head but fear not I’ve got the alley organic hair products I’m ready for healthy conditioned against UV rays; heat rays, I am ready to grow my hair past my ankles.

This hair care product is amazing! I have been using it for a year now and I love how it makes both my daughters hair so soft and manageable. I used it while the hair is still wet. One of my daughters have 3C hair and the other has 4C hair.

It works on all hair types. That’s what make this product so wonderful. It’s a lightweight leave in condition, however, it does have alot of water in it. So it is great for protective styles that causes to use a leave in conditioner and gel.

Also this product mixes well with all types of gel.

I am currently a colored natural with 3C/4A medium porosity hair. It’s really, really hard to find a product that will work with my texture but this is my go to conditioner! This product leaves my hair extremely moisturized and it feels like silk without the extra frizz.

This is especially important to me while living in the South Florida humidity. The consistency is perfect and not heavy at all. The scent is divine while not being so overbearing or perfumed.

I use this for my Wash days. I love this conditioner so much. My hair feels so hydrated after I rinse this product out my hair. I do notice that my hair is less frizzy too. I love TGIN and their products.

I especially am a huge fan of the Rose Water collection! Great products!.

So, this mask on it own doesn’t really do anything super revolutionary. It does help the hair retain moisture. But that’s nothing that can’t be done with a leave in conditioner. I did use it consistently for 3 weeks prior to deciding whether or not I liked it.

Frankly? It’s just okay. The smell isn’t anything to get super excited about, in my opinion. I’d describe it as an earthy, nutty scent. Nothing floral, fresh or fruity about it- which I do prefer my hair products at least somewhat fragrant.

Using it following the matching shampoo does help split ends and hair shafts retain even more moisture, but I was significantly more impressed with the shampoo than the hair mask. 5/10 in my personal opinion.

Nothing to get very excited about, but is a good, basic, moisturizing hair mask.

This conditioner left my hair the softest it’s ever been, yet very hydrated. Even my very dry ends were put back together. It’s very thick coming out of the bottle, yet its not heavy and does not weigh down my hair.

All natural ingredients, curly girl safe, and vegan. The smell is wonderfully refreshing, a cross between light pear and fruit loops cereal but not overpowering. I use less than a quarter size to cowash and it has so much slip the tangles just melt out.

I was surprised that something this rich would work on my lower porosity hair, but it did! I have also used as a pre-poo, and a deep conditioner. It’s got lots of B vitamins and lightweight oils, too.

This conditioner isn’t terrible, but it didn’t work for me. As other reviews have mentioned it smells just like Fruit Loops. It had pretty good slip and it was easy to work through my hair. However, once I rinsed it out I thought my hair was just “meh”.

It didn’t really feel as soft as I expected. It didn’t have that super soft, silky, curls poppin look and feel that I’ve gotten from other conditioners. For reference I have fine, low porosity 4a hair.

I would not repurchase this but I can see how this might work for other hair types.

Now that I’ve tried the product for my natural hair, the curl enhancing did not work well. I looked at a video of a young lady using the product and she twisted strands of her hair to make it curl after wetting her hair and applying this product.

Her results were very nice curly locks, however, when I tried the exact same method, it did not work. Not achieving the curly results, I braided my hair with the product intact, and left the braids in for several days.

The look resulted in wavy, stringy strands of hair. Ok if you are satisfied with that look. Maybe my hair is too coarse, or I may try it again dividing my hair into smaller strands to see if it curls.

The product smell good, and it’s not too heavy on the hair. It was a good deal for two jars.

I added a before and after pic so everyone could see how dry and brittle my hair was before I shampooed and used the conditioner mask. I can already tell this is going to be apart of my holy grail hair care after just 2 uses.

It made my hair so much more manageable and sealed in moisture. Usually after I blow dry I lose so much hair in that process due to it being dry, but not today. The ends of my hair feel so good to the touch which is something I’m not use to.

This shampoo smells wonderful and lathers up easy. You don’t need much to get the scalp and hair clean. I usually always still have some flakes even after I shampoo a few times, but after using this I haven’t spotted any flakes when brushing my hair.

Deeply nourishing and moisturizing for my daughters thick, damaged and dry hair. She reports that she enjoyed the scent and how it lathered nicely and left her hair soft and manageable without drying it or causing more damage.

This is especially formulated for curly and coily hair but worked so well she requested the matching masque/conditioner. It is full of super foods and other good stuff like, baobab, aloe vera and oils like mongongo and jojoba.

No sulfates, parabens or phalates. It is cruelty free and I have enjoyed other Shea Mountain products for years.

Found it in Target for $12 a piece and bought it on a whim due to the anti shedding claims. I’ve been using it exclusively for several weeks, and I have noticed significantly less shedding and hair fall during wash day and normal styling throughout the week.

The shampoo has a great lather, got my hair/scalp clean without stripping it, and my curls were soft, hydrated, defined. The scent is also AMAZING… very fresh and it lingers without being strong. I was still getting compliments on how good my hair smelled days after I’d washed and styled.

The leave in conditioner has the same great scent and did a good job of hydrating and clumping my curls with a soft hold. I was able to get 4 days of curls before I needed to rinse and restyle. But my favorite product by far is the gel masque! It has a very slick and jelly like consistency and leaves my hair feeling extremely soft, my curls absolutely love this stuff!.

The product itself is phenomenal. The packaging and dispenser is SUCH CHEAP GARBAGE it makes it impossible to dispense the product. It’s too thick for the dispenser and you have to struggle to squeeze.

I’ve broken two dispensers and started buying extra bottles to keep replacing new dispenser on the broken one. Why do I have to do this ? And the bottle weight is SO LIGHT while you try to dispense it falls or slides.

Like a simple process of DISPENSING SHAMPOO FROM A BOTTLE turns into a struggle. At this price PER UNIT, I will not be buying this product anymore until you invest more into your packaging. You want true reviews go to Amazon everyone is complaining about the same thing.

You cut the wrong corners to save a few bucks.

Let me start by saying I am a big loyal customer of Mielle. But since I opened the bottle I disliked the smell 😩. It reminded me of ocean scented aromatics, febrezze, soaps, etc. I use the babassu shampoo , I got this for my husband , well I tried it today and I was please with the results it cleaned my hair wonderfully and the smell toned down in the shower, I did picked up some sweet aromas.

If you don’t have allergies to perfumes or scents or strong scents don’t bother you, than this line is a 5 star but for a nose like mine is a 4. The deep conditioner and leave in gave me so much volume , clean feel, defined light curls, but the smell of the leave in has already given me a headache.

Maybe tone it down with the fragrance ? I am going to stick to my babassu line ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Much love to Mielle for always shining with the products.

Okay so I’m a wavy girl, but most importantly my hair is BRITTLE, fine, porous, & dry all the time. It breaks like nobody’s business. I literally thought that was just going to be my life forever until I tried this shampoo.

I’ve tried other moisturizing shampoos & they either do basically nothing or completely weigh it down. This legitimately felt like it changed my hair. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS FORMULA! Like my hair & scalp literally feels SO HAPPY after I wash it, and it stays clean for around 3 days – amazing.

This shampoo along with the conditioner is my favorite Mielle products! It cleans my hair from all the dirt and OMG the smell 🥰 is the best! This is a great product! I was very surprise when the company change the product and I couldn’t find the original. This product have helped my hair tremendously! I got my items fast and everything was secure.

I used this conditioner today mixed in with my regular deep conditioner (silicon mix) and it was amazing. i still cant get over how smooth my hair has become. Earlier in the week my hair was extremely dry and trust me i used everything but once i put this in my deep conditioner, life was great.

I am going to be using it every week for the next month and afterwards, once a month.

The Porosity Control Step 2 is the BEST products EVER! I have no idea why Roux decided to merge with Fermodil to create a what they call improved version of this—-NOT SO! It DOES NOT compare to Step1 and Step 2.

Please put these back on the shelves! Pros: This product is ALL pro! Cons: The only cons against this product its the merging of companies and replacing them with another product that does not come even close to the results of step 1 and 2.

Since the Pandemic started, my hair has been looking less than satisfying. I stumbled upon this leave-in conditioner, and after using it for the last few weeks my hair has completely transformed! It has gone back to my original curl pattern (more of an S wave) I actually thought I had lost my curl pattern.

My hair is now soft, the curls are extremely well defined, moisturized and shiny. I also have much less shedding when I wash my hair in the shower. I am so glad that I purchased this product. This was exactly what my hair needed!!! Just a sidebar.

it took me a while to adjust to the product’s scent, but what do I expect from Sea Moss?.

This smells so good I can still smell the product AFTER I’ve styled my hair a day later but that it’s! The stars are for the smell and nothing else because that all I got with this product. I use this line frequently and I love everything else but this is the 1st time I tried the deep conditioner and this is not for me! My hair felt like I had washed it and stripped all the oil after I rinsed this off.

I’m not reading the other reviews and I see the people saying they like have 4c hair where mine is more 3b/c so maybe that’s why it’s not for me. I also used almost all of the jar on my hair. It’s very watery.

I will continue to use the other products in the line but this one was a disappointment for me.

This product is made from a small black woman owned business who values using natural products. I think because of this the products can be expensive. Since I have bought and loved other products (Lemongrass leave in conditioner and Shea Yogurt Hair Moisturizer) from this company I wanted to try their deep conditioner as I’ve been looking for an intensive deep conditioner to moisturize my thickly dense, coily, possibly high porosity hair since it loses moisture quickly.

When I first used this product I sat under a steamer for about 20 minutes, sectioned my hair, and drenched each strand with the product. I felt it soften my hair and gave me the moisture I required but I utilized half the jar.

I used it again and even though it did soften and moisturize my hair it was not as magical (2nd time I did not section or drench but 3rd-5th time I sectioned and used moderately as well as all times sat under a steamer).

I think the first time experience was me wanting to love this product so much and also me taking my time to ensure it works. It does have a strong smell that people may not like but it also STAINS (like most Alikay Naturals products since they are natural).

It stains my hair towels and surrounding area when I comb/detangle my hair. It does have good slip but for me a little too watery as I’d like something just a little thicker. It is also hard to wash out (especially when I have my hair breaded or twisted after detangling with the deep conditioner) and I do find myself having to come back and wash out my hair again.

I have gone through two jars with 4-5 deep conditioning sessions and am looking for something more moisturizing, thicker, less strong smell, and not staining. If I can not find another deep conditioner I will come back to this product as it is a good conditioner.

Has a light sweet scent and the texture is similar to a creamy lotion. Not too thick or thin. Minimal slip and I applied it to wet hair. Used ny hooded dryer for 20 minutes. I could feel tiny particles mixed into the product.

I was concerned it would be stuck in my hair. However, nothing was left in my hair upon rinsing. My hair was VERY soft and moisturized. 1st product I have ever used from this brand.

This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo.

I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely.

Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. So it is still dry and tangled.
