20 Best Pillow For Shoulder Pain Side Sleeper (2023 Updated)

I’ve had the pillow for a couple of nights so far. I love the shape and support level and it’s really comfortable when I’m on my side. However, the lavender scent was quite strong and smelled more like soap hadn’t been fully rinsed out.

That wore off a bit and it’s more tolerable, but I won’t be using the mist. I’ve also started to break out in hives on my neck and shoulders and cheeks. I’m not entirely sure why. I have a latex allergy, but I can’t see anywhere that latex is listed in the materials.

I’m hoping that after a couple more washes whatever is causing it will go away.

I am very particular about my pillows and have had a difficult time finding one that is supportive as a side sleeper. Previously I’ve been using a pillow cube pillow and my problem with that pillow is the foam gets so warm by the morning from the heat of my head that it doesn’t hold support by the morning.

This pillow doesn’t have that issue which is really great! It does get warm at night so it isn’t really a cooling type of pillow but that’s not a deal breaker for me. I like that the pillow case that comes with it is fitted to the pillow and is removable through a zipper.

I’m pretty in love with this pillow. First of all the pillow alone is very comfortable. I sleep in all the positions: back, side and stomach, and it works for me however I change. It has great support and I don’t have to fluff or change it in the middle of the night.

I have tried several new/different pillows over the last few months and was beginning to think that I’ve become a picky pillow person. Then I slept one night on this and knew this was the one. It’s my new favorite.

2nd the lavender smell. I have never had a scented pillow and was a little nervous to try this. However I really like it! The scent is fairly subtle. I opened this pillow as a gift during a Christmas party and everyone passed it around to smell it.

Comments were as follows: ‘It makes me want to sleep’ ‘It smells like spring’ ‘I can’t really smell it’ to which then my husband compressed the pillow/smashed it, so that the air would rush out and they agreed they could smell it.

It smells like spring time. As I’ve slept on it for several nights now the scent is less strong (I think because I’m getting a bit more used to it). I haven’t used the lavender spritzer and don’t expect to use it for a few months.

The scent is subtle enough that my husband can’t smell it while I sleep next to him. Overall I’m pretty in love with this pillow and would buy one again and give it as a gift.

Was hoping this pillow would finally be the pillow I needed. Alas, it was not to be. I spent $130 on it and was very disappointed after only a few days. I slept on it a few more days hoping I would to just need to get adjusted to it being a new pillow.

Not gonna happen. The cooling pad only stays cools for a short time. It does not hold its shape well. Ends up way too flat and unsupportive halfway through the night. It is of no help to me. I am a side sleeper.

Unfortunately ,the place I bought it does not allow returns on bedding so guess I am stuck with a $130 paperweight.

I was in the infantry for 12 years. Needless to say, my back and neck aren’t in the best shape, thanks Marine Corps. Sleeping on this pillow, it don’t matter on my side, back or belly, I tend to toss and turn, this pillow stays cool all night long and when I do wake up my neck pain, back pain and sciatic pain is all gone.

Now, waking up feeling energized is just something you cannot replace. Great pillow. I never knew a pillow could help resolve so much.

I have suffered from neck and shoulder pain for years. I woke up after sleeping on this pillow for only one night with no pain. I can’t believe I never knew something like this existed. It is work every penny!.

I never thought I would spend this much money on pillows but they are so nice! They are very comfortable and stay cool and conform to my head and neck. They stay in place when you move around and don’t need any fluffing and seems that they will keep their shape! As I have gotten older, I have had to go to a firmer mattress due to aches and pains after waking and the pillows we had were too soft and I was still having an issue with neck and shoulder pain in the mornings.

I tried these in the store before I decided to purchase and was impressed with them. It took a few nights for my body to adjust to them but my spine seems to be more aligned and I have slept better and felt better waking up! I opted for a medium firm pillow because it’s good for combination sleep positions and also so my head doesn’t sit too high like it was doing with my old pillows with the new mattress.

I feel they are worth the money we spent on them!.

It has been almost a month since I have received my Purple Harmony Pillow and OMG. I am obsessed. It took about 1 to 2 nights to get used to, BUT WOW! My absolute favorite pillow, without a doubt, guys.

It provides me true pressure relief. I was experiencing really annoying neck pain and it would not go away. I went through a variety of pillows and it was getting ridiculous. This pillow was pricey but worth it.

LOVE IT! The harmony purple pillow is what I spent years searching for. It holds its shape all night and never goes flat. Perfect for side sleepers also works well for back sleepers. I think I’ve tried every pillow Target & Walmart sell as well as ordering several online including a my pillow, a bamboo pillow, and even a buckwheat pillow.

Don’t waste your money on any of them. I resorted to sleeping with my arm up under my pillow and to keep its shape. Finally, I don’t have to do that! The purple harmony pillow is soft yet supportive.

that might be easily addressed. The incline of the wedge is steep enough that over the course of several hours, I slid down it. It doesn’t seem like you’re going to slide when you get on it, but each time you shift position, even slightly, gravity asserts itself and you move ever so slightly downward, so the arm that’s positioned through the pillow gradually becomes more uncomfortable.

The fix may be to use a non-slip fabric on the face of the wedge. I was going to try a piece of non-slip shelf liner fabric on it, but hit a point where I got tired of trying things. I needed sleep badly and went in another direction that eventually worked for me.

What I did adopt and really love is the body pillow. It’s full of memory foam pieces rather than the usual polyester pillow fill, and that makes all the difference. The feel of it is substantial and it doesn’t just flatten under the weight of an arm or leg.

I love the feeling of being surrounded by the pillow. However, I don’t understand why they adopted a J shape rather than a full U. Contrary to the video on the website, when you’re facing away from the long side, it isn’t possible to pull the long side through your legs in a way that allows you to support your upper leg And the short side is a little short for supporting my upper arm, as well.

I’m 5’9″, so not short, but there are plenty of people taller than me, too. My solution was to make a supplementary pillow about 24″ long and the same width and girth, also stuff with memory foam. I use that to extend the short side of the body pillow, so effectively it’s a U shape and I’m really comfy.

I have a very bad shoulder (replacement surgery in a couple of months) and one that is still useable. I purchased the shoulder relief system to help me get some sleep prior to and after surgery, following initial recovery.

For me, the trick was to get my armpit as far up the base wedge pillow as possible and extend my arm into the side opening so that my armpit and forearm took all the strain off of my shoulder. No more “propeller movement” all night. I wake up 3 times to change positions from one side to the other, falling back asleep after each repositioning. The pain causing the “propeller” movement is greatly reduced, allowing me to sleep much better.

I’ve purchased quite a few pillows in the last year or so spending hundreds of dollars. I 1st bought an original Casper for my husband who needed a new pillow and had been complaining he wasn’t sleeping good, couldn’t get comfortable, I’d seen ads for Casper and thought I will try one.

He sleeps like a baby now. I only bought 1. After he told me how rested he is I thought I’d buy myself one. So I did and it was good, then I bought myself the hybrid Casper and I didn’t sleep as well with the hybrid version, so I went back to the original Casper, I liked it so much I bought 2 more.

I’ve bought them for my children as well, when they come for a visit they never complain. Casper pillows have grown on us, I think I’ve purchased 8 so far. A couple extra for guest rooms. I’m thinking of changing mattress soon, I may do some research on Casper beds.

Dear Casper, I’ve had my pillows for years. As I launder them for the countless time, I’m inspired to let you know how much I STILL love my Casper pillows. They are still comfortable. They are holding up so well, and we are frequent launderers.

We follow the directions to make sure we unzip the outer pillow before washing and drying. Even when we had the one, and only, issue with a manufacture defect, you remedied the situation with immediate effect.

My husband has slept on this exact pillow for over 25 yrs. After spending much too much money on high end pillows and returns, or just wasted money, I finally found this same pillow here!!! And gave it a try.

Perfect!!!! Not at all brick hard like other foam pillows, but soft enough for some give, yet the support I need. I am for reference, 5. 1, and petite. Most pillows are too soft, or too firm and hurt my ears, or jack my head way too high.

I had a stiff neck every morning until I slept one night on this pillow. The lower side is just right for me. I can’t believe I never tried my husband’s, other than I thought it would be brick hard and not fit me.

This is the second time I have purchased this pillow for my son. He has neck issues and is very particular about his pillow. He has been using the Company store contour pillow for at least two years.

I got him a new one for Christmas, because nothing lasts forever, but this pillow is still in great shape! The one criticism is the soft pillow case. It seems to pill after repeated washings. We would prefer a smooth pillow case.

This is my first overstuffed pillow and I am in love! I didn’t realise just how much sleeping on the wrong pillow was affecting me. I have had the overstuffed pillow for about a month and it has made such an incredible difference in my sleep routine.

I am able to stay asleep without needing to get up and find another pillow to put under my neck for support. Though the pillow is overstuffed, it does not feel too big or bulky. It actually molds to my head and neck so I feel protected.

This set also came with an allergy free mattress protector which is also very comfy. It has a decent protective layer which keeps dust off my actual mattress. This alone has been a huge time saver, as I can now vaccum my mattress only once a month as opposed to once a week.

Overall, this set has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with my purchase.

I know pillows are very personal it’s like trying to find the perfect pair of jeans without trying them on! I prefer soft pillows that are not overly filled. I also do not like Feather pillows. I read the reviews that said “it was flat.

” PERFECT. However, I do not feel this pillow is flat. I have only been using it for a month now however it is holding it’s softness and relative fullness. I really like this pillow. I did not stack them as others have done.

The Blu Sleep Ceramo Shoulder Pillow is so comfy. It has a nice cooling feeling when touching it. It is a thick and super soft pillow but I do wish it was thicker. It supports my neck and head and I am not waking up with a stiff neck as I sometimes do with “normal” pillows.

I am actually getting a full nights rest without waking up to adjust my pillow throughout the night. Compared to other pillows, this one definitely gives me the support for my neck that I was needing.

I plan to purchase additional pillows for the rest of my home and as gifts to my family members so they can experience the lovely sleep that I have been experiencing lately when using the Blu Sleep Ceramo Shoulder Pillow.
