20 Best Pillow For Hip Pain While Sitting (2023 Updated)

This pillow is incredibly big. it takes a bit to mold to your body so you can hug it; its sort of like hugging a massive tree trunk but when it softens – it’s pretty great. It’s great for a side sleeper; you can put it behind your back and will provide lots of stability.

It’s also fantastic if you want to elevate your legs; place it at the end of the bed and toss your legs over it – great. If you are buying it to help with a pregnancy; it’s tough to get your body over the top.

Why? Because once you take it out of the package – it expands big time. but fantastic for behind the body.

I bought this body pillow for my daughter for Christmas of 2021. We weren’t able to celebrate until mid-January. She has tried everything to ‘get along’ with this body pillow but the pillow is non-compliant.

She says it takes too much muscle to make it comfortable to use. She can not squeeze it down enough to use it as it was meant to be used. I need to return it as I paid a lot of money for it to not be able to use it.

got the purple harmony pillow 7. 5 inches the other day. 1 week into using it i have less neck/ shoulder pain. i am a side sleeper. 6’3″ 230. i still find, even ordering the tallest available version that i need to put my arm under the pillow to boost it, but it is still extremely comfortable aside from that.

it is a very hot pillow. hotter than any pillow i have ever owned. it has been in the single digits overnight this week and i keep my place at 65, and i still get very hot. not looking forward to summer.

if i keep it that long. they ship fedex as the only option i could find. i f’n hate fedex with an uncontrollable burning passion and they as usual had a delivery exception and delivered 2 days later than promised.

ridiculously comfortable pillow when propped with arm. ridiculously hot pillow, horrible shipping option. mediocre to bad customer service. i may get another pillow, but it will be from a different source.

join me in boycotting any business that uses fedex as its delivery provider.

We got the Hybrid 3 on June 4 (almost 3 weeks ago) and then the , Purple Mattress Protector and Purple Sheets came in about a week later. I got $200 off the package because I ordered a matress. I had the choice of their 3 pillows but took a gamble and ordered the purple pillow, which was the most expensive at $99 regular price.

But with the deal I got it at half the price. I had done a bunch of research on the mattress, but not on the pillows. This ended up as a lucky gamble–both my husband and I love the purple pillow. After using it two nights, he admitted to me that he was skeptical because he has seen very mixed reviews on the purple pillow.

To be honest, if he had told me that, I wouldn’t have taken the gamble. I am mostly a side sleeper and my husband is more of a back and sometimes side sleeper. The purple mattress protector and sheets are not listed yet, but I loved them too.

When we took them put of the box, I initially thought they gave us the wrong size. But they were super stretchy more that I have ever seen in a sheet. It really keeps the bed looking sharp and always made.

NOTE (about the pillow): The phone sales person did a great job and asked about our height/build when we ordered the pillow because he said side sleepers that are taller people (over 6’0″) may have a larger space between their head and shoulder and sometimes need the purple pillow boosters.

So I bought a Purple pillow per my doctor’s recommendation (looking back they are likely paid for that). I now sleep with the new Purple pillow plus the two old ones. The pillow (medium) is very thin, does not have support resulting in extreme neck pains, and well is very not constructed very well at all (Note purchase was made directly off their site).

Not sure what the hype is about but this pillow is not worth the cost and gives no neck support.

Very comfortable. Unlike others brands I’ve purchased (3). Would have loved to been a few inches wider, but I guess the average person, it’s more than adequate. My Frame is 6’2″ – 250 lbs. Priced perfect.

My previous purchases were more pricey.

It is a little on the large size. For a short person, a bit hard to position. No easy way to pull it under the legs to sit back in a recliner. This also makes it awkward to remove when you want to get up.

I injured my tailbone from snowboarding and got recommended by my doctor to get a donut cushion. It’s been a week since I’ve been using and it’s okay, not super good. It’s not soft or hard. Though it’s medium, so if I sit on it for too long my butt/thigh gets sore from it.

Couple hours may be ok but no longer than that. My thighs get sore cuz it’s just my butt on the cushion and then my thighs are on the edge of the seat. Even If I put the donut all the way to the front, it doesn’t hit the purpose cuz then I’m basically sitting on my tailbone again.

My chair seat is bigger than the cushion so I have to place it in the middle to back so the hole is aligned with my tailbone. Every now and then I have to adjust it to get comfortable again. I suppose it relieves the pain but it’s not that comfortable.

I sit in other places too like around my house or go outside, so I can’t always bring it around. When I remove the cushion and sit in my own chair it’s like a relief I’m not sitting on a rock.

Initially, I was looking into those gel seat cushions, but it seems I cant afford one of those! But this was a GREAT substitute at a reasonable price – plus Free Shipping! Very Comfortable in my computer chair and I spend a lot of time (way too much) in that seat!.

Makes sitting greatly more comfortable. Easy to keep clean. It even looks good with the removable cover. A good product.

We bought two of the purple pillows with a purple bed. My neck has been hurting every night I tried the pillow. I adjusted and tried again but wake up in pain which has never been an issue. Mattress firm does not offer exchange so we have 2 purple pillows in the closet.

My husband is having the same issue. Reaching out to purple in hopes to just exchange and not waist money.

I love this pillow. The scent is natural lavendar but not overpowering. This pillow has multifunctional use. I rest my hands on the spikes, I place it on my face, abdomen and back. It does take some getting used to.

Within 3 days of daily use I fell asleep with it on my face. Now one side of my face looks better than the other. The spikes are sharp so start with a few seconds then work your way up. Even a few seconds goes a long way.

Love!!!! I had purchased a “similar” cheaper product on amazon. That product was OK and serves the purpose but this one is so much better!! The buckwheat help to keep it positioned. I really like this color but was worried about the “aromatherapy” feature.

It is not overpowering AT ALL! buy it, you will not regret it!.

I have been on an extended search, it seems “forever,” to find a pillow that would not result in increased neck pain and/or headaches upon waking in the morning. I have also historically had difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep.

Searched high and low and seen an ad for cushion lab and was glad I found it. May 20th I had a decompression spine surgery and a spinal fusion from L2 to S1 and due to be a small petite woman and only at 100 lbs my mid spine bones after the fusion, I was suffering every time I sat in a car or a hard back chair.

I found cushion lab and this lumbar pillow feels as if it was custom made for spinal fusions and any other upper and middle back pain. My upper spinal column is cradled by the lumbar cushion and the deep opening allows me to sit in a car for hours and also a hard back chair.

I bring my pillow everywhere and would be lost without this cushion. Since I was so thin my spinal column due to the fusion from mid spine all the way up was feeling so much pressure. Thank you for creating the best product I have found to protect your spine.

We purchased 3 of these for our king bed for several reasons including a solution to having 8 pillows on the bed to help with pillows falling behind the headboard and for health issues of sleep apnea and acid reflux.

They were shipped super quick and are just as described! They provide a ton of support and solved all of the issues we bought them for! Covers are super soft and only took about 10 minutes before they were puffed all up to their proper shape.

This pillow is a good concept but during the night I slide down defeating my purpose for buying the pillow. The sliding may be due to the type of fabric the pillow case is made from that came on the pillow.

I don’t know I will try to find a pillow case made with a cotton fabric. It’s great for sitting up in bed to read or watch TV.

I had to throw out my recliner; The Superior Pillow assimilates the recliner position, helping to relieve pressure and pain from my back and knees. The white pillow cover with the gray birds design is lovely.

How can I order an extra pillow cover? However, it was an uphill battle trying to remove the pillow from its circular plastic bag.

Good product. Rrasonably comfy – not too firm, yet firm enough. A low wedge yet helps with all the conditions. Nice outer cover with zip for laundering too.

It works! It popped back into shape after I beat it several times. Took less than five hours to restore original shape. Now I am looking for additional covers.

I actually purchased the pillow as my doctor suggested something to raise my head due to sinus problems. So, even if it doesn’t remedy the problem, I still think the pillow was a good purchase.

I typically sleep with a bed pillow between my legs to address hip pain caused by sleeping on my side. The bed pillow is bulky and shifts during the night, causing me to wake and reposition the pillow several times during the night.

I purchased the Cooling Foam Leg Pillow to combat this problem. The Cooling Foam Leg Pillow stays in place all night and does a good job of eliminating any hip discomfort. It is lightweight, but firm so that it doesn’t squish down under the weight of my leg.

I did have difficulty putting the pillow cover back on the pillow after washing it. The cover retained it’s shape and did fine with the washing, but it is form fitted to the oddly shaped leg pillow, making it difficult to put back on the pillow.

I had to completely squish down the pillow in order to get the cover back on the pillow. But overall a good product.

My wife loved the pillow, as a side sleeper. However, after less than a couple months of use (for an expensive pillow!) the zipper came off the cover and the cover is ripping down the middle! Very upset with the poor quality.

I have had back problems for years & never realized my sleeping position was part of the problem! My daughter who is a Physical Therapist adjusted me after noticing my hip was rotated forward. Trying to diagnose cause of problem, she had me show her how I slept.

She immediately noticed I was sleeping on my side with my left thrown over & forward (exactly in position pictured on label of this pillow!). She commented that could be contributing factor to my discomfort & suggested I sleep with a pillow between my thighs! Regular pillow was not comfortable so I decided to try this one! Probably should’ve gone for the down for softness, but these are certainly very supportive and you don’t have to worry about the animals or the allergens. The pillows are thick and do not lose their shape at all.

I’ve been on it for a few months now and have no issues. Tried both the medium and the firm and the medium is pretty close to the firm. If I end up on my stomach then I am a little sore in the neck. I will say that for how I usually sleep, these pillows are very supportive and as such they seem to encourage healthy sleep.

I was turned on to Brooklinen by the National Sleep Foundation for these exact pillows to improve my sleep. I would say it has worked. Very thick pillows. Cushion is awesome. Thickness is something of a concern so make sure you get the right one for how you sleep.
