Best Lowlights For White Hair (2024 Updated)

Pro: great product, I’ve been using it for over 20 years. I have gotten compliments from actual hairdressers on my highlights who thought they were salon highlights. Con: cap is garbage as others have pointed out.

Mine ripped, i. e. the cap part ripped away from the tie part but I called L’Oreal and they are going to replace the kit (supposedly). Anyway I’m pretty sure you can get a reusable cap at Sally and it is worth the investment if so.

I did not have a huge problem getting my hair through the holes but I highly advise using the metal hook and not the plastic hook. They are NOT the same. Also I didn’t try and do the back this time. I have in the past and the results have been great but you can’t do it with a slip slidey cap or at least I wouldn’t attempt it.

The bottom line is you need first of all a good product that will give you pretty highlights and not weird orange hair. This is that product. I have medium brown mouse hair but I always use the Chardonnay i.

e. the lighter tint because I have found that when you try to go for the more subtle tints you can end up with orange hair and highlighter remorse. You MUST leave the product on for the full time indicated and sometimes longer.

Check the strand like the box says. Furthermore, the price compares favorably to other highlighting products. I used to think all highlighting kits were created equal. I was wrong. Many do not even HAVE a metal hook.

To try and highlight with these crappy caps using a plastic hook is like trying to catch an alligator with a fishing pole. Bottom line: this is a great product even disregarding the great price. It is what is says: petite.

You cannot highlight a full head of long flowing locks with this kit. This is great for literally highlights on short to medium length hair i. e. a few standout locks of hair as opposed to basically going blonde and calling it highlights.

Do not highlight when you are in a hurry and/or you have a date later. You must always consider the possibility that something will go wrong, even just missing a chunk. For example, because of my ripped cap, my left side is blonder than my right, but since I don’t have a hot date tonight, I don’t care.

I didn’t use all the product and I will fix it later on. Give yourself 48 hours to fix any mistakes or highlighting remorse issues. Also I highly advise investing in blue/purple shampoo which takes any brassiness out.

never ever ever buy this product. I have been highlighting my own hair for 20 years. I have never ever used this brand, but my normal brand was out of stock everywhere. the cap is ridiculous because you can’t see any of the holes or circles or anything on it.

then once you do find a hole you can’t punch through it. I’ve never really enjoyed coloring my own hair, but I do it out of necessity for saving money. but I’ve never hated it this much. if you like your sanity do not buy this product.

I would give it zero Stars if I could.

This was my first attempt at doing my own permanent haircolor. Ambitious, yes, but it went perfectly! Took a couple practice trys getting the hair to come through the cap nicely, and that ended up being the hardest most time consuming part.

Having someone to help would’ve made that a lot easier. I just did crown highlights and it gave nice small strands of color all over. A helper would be a must if you’re going to do all over highlights (unless you feel like sitting with a plastic cap on your head for 4 hours).

I have light golden brown hair, and in 25 mins it was done. Only drawback is the smell of the leave-in toner which is the last step 😛 So many haircolors (Feria) are nice smelling, why couldn’t Loreal do this? Especially on a leave-in product.

Oh, and when you mix everything you get this huge tub of haircolor about 1. 5×1. 5×4 or 5 inches. I barely made a dent in it and I have hair about 2in past my shoulders. Maybe if you’re doing this with your sister or something you could rinse re-use the cap.

You’d definantly have enough dye.

I have a medium blonde color. My results were amazing with this product. First, you’ll notice while mixing the liquid/powder together that it looks runny/grainy. Please make sure you mix for at least 5 min! It will turn into a thick base with no clumps! I then put half my hair up and used the brush to do some highlights.

Next I pulled the top of my hair down and did 4 highlights on each side with the brush. I left on for about 10-15 min until I saw the product turning my hair lighter. I did re-highlight the areas I already brushed on for a thicker coat.

Came out amazing. Looks like I went to a salon!.

This is an excellent product which adds blonde highlights. You just paint on streaks of blonde, where ever you want them. So easy. You do not paint the root so it is safer than an all-over hair color.

I have long hair and have been using these highlights since I was 20 years old. I am now 70. You should always test first underneath your hair, where it does not show, because it MAY turn brown hair a reddish tone.

I used this product on untreated dark blonde / light brown hair to lighten it. I did test the product on a section of my hair before treating it and saw no ill effects, so I transitioned into using on my whole head.

I actually applied this product twice. The first time, I did a 20 minute “incubation” (which was how long my test strands indicated I needed), but after washing that out, I felt like I wanted more color.

I did another 20 minutes, and ended up with very natural-looking but noticeable highlights that I am very happy with. I will definitely use this product again next time I want to update my highlights.

I recently ordered 2 boxes of the GDY Lightening Kit from my local Sally store. When I opened the boxes to use them, I noticed that the kit was an older version of the product. The product & its formula have been updated since this kit (like it’s been YEARS) and I feel like I was cheated by paying full price for these old old products.

I have used this kit before many times and the older product does not lighten as well as the current formulas that they use. I’m a big fan of GDY’s products and know that I’m not the only person that’s received old products from Sally before.

Makes me wonder how many other products Sally is keeping on the shelves and selling.

I never want to use another brand of lightener for my hair at home besides GDY! It’s got the best consistency and is so easy to apply. It doesn’t drip, it doesn’t run, and if you pass the patch test, it doesn’t fry your scalp to bits of you accidentally get it too much of it on your skin for a few minutes.

Its developer is not too severe (25 vol. ), meaning you can take your time with application and not worry about the first sections you applied it to getting too light or becoming brittle and weak from the process of the formula.

I especially was grateful for this in my most recent bleach sesh, as I ran out of bleach mid-sesh and had to have my dad buy more! The first sections ended up enduring a few hours with the lightener on them, but they came out virtually unscathed in terms of texture and strength! I did my research and saw the reviews and it seemed like a good product to lighten my hair without too much damage or irritation. Well I guess I was wrong because as soon as I got to my roots to start to finish the application it was burning.

My hair was really damaged afterwards. Luckily no hair fell out but still. Usually if I get bleach damage I can easily fix it but this time it’s being tricky. This stuff really messed up my hair. I have lightened my hair before with box stuff and it was much more pleasant.

So I buy Salon Grafix spray-on color to add some highlights. This one is #31 Brown but I’ve tried many colors. I always keep a can of brown though. It shows up really good, looks so natural, and you can get as creative as you like.

With wigs, it washes out synnies with a wet towel and with human hair just a wash. Great product! Especially if you don’t want anything permanent.

I use this for my perimeter when I am wearing blonde and honey hued wigs. It’s so easy to apply a little goes a long way. It’s affordable and comes in an array of colors. It’s easy to wash out, doesn’t rub off to easily.

This product Rootflage temporary hair color is an amazing quick change up for your hair. I was delighted to try it. I had been tempted to try a crazy color for a couple of months, but in the end I chose to try the champagne blonde color.

This just was perfect for highlights to my light brown hair. The highlights were subtle but I made them heavier in the front and used the powder to cover roots as well. The fun of it is that you know that it is temporary so you can experiment and not worry because you know you can get it out.

I am in love with Roux Fanci-full Temporary Hair Color Rinse in Frivolous Fawn as it’s a lifesaver in-between trips to the salon. Roux addresses my outgrow when I’ve got extended time separating my salon visits and allows me to successfully blend my outgrow without lines separating my hair color and what’s been treated with Roux and doesn’t alter my gator color nor cause any damage.

It’s super easy to apply and the only con I’ve experienced after multiple applications is that it can be a little messy as it’s pure liquid. One of three was open bag when getting to me, so it was dirty. But overall, they are good products, which I like the quality and result. Before I ordered one from Walmart, same name with yours, which is Roux Fanci-Full Instant Hair Color 21.

But, the ingredients are somehow different. For example, the one I bought from Walmart has no PVP, while yours have. Of course I prefer “No PVP”. The names of companies are also different, so are the locations.

The other is Roux Lab at Jacksonville FL, while yours is Beautyge Brands in San Diego CA. I searched infos on google to understand the difference. It is fine for me though. Unless you would tell me more.

I have been using the Fanci-full, 23 Frivolous Fawn (9 fl. oz/266ml, pink color bottle) temporary hair color for years and have loved it. It seems not to be available anymore. So was happy to see that there was a ‘new look’ Fanci-Full 23 Frivolous Fawn by Roux 15.

2fl. oz/450mL available. I am sure the product in itself is fine, it is the color that I am so disappointed with. It is just not the same 23 Frivolous Fawn color as the previous pink colored botttle 23 Frivolous Fawn.

Hope the ‘Old Look’ color becomes available again soon.

A great hair color at a great price. I am not African American but this product does very well for my Middle Eastern hair. It is watery enough to spread well and it colors within 30 minutes the most stubborn grays.

No hair fall like other products either. I use the jet black shade and no harsh odor either. The cream conditioner that comes with the product needs to be used very little at a time unless it would make the hair too greasy.

Highly recommended!.

I have been using this particular brand to color my hair for almost 7 years and have no complaints. I typically will die my own hair and have been for several years. Yes, my hair is natural and curly and dark brown is my natural color.

I will say that this product does not work for every hair type. I’ve had women tell me that they use the same product but with different results. I will also mention that I have never used the recommended time for leaving the color in my hair.

My hair does not take to hair coloring well so the typical 30-45 minutes never works for me. For those that indicate the product has not worked, I suggest using another product like Crème of Nature product.

This product works, But like many Hair dyes even if it comes with a booster highlighting package. It’s a waste of time and Funds Lady if you recently dyed your hair with a dark brown medium brown or black.

So if you are trying to go lighter with dark dye in your hair. Use color oops and dye it the next day after deep conditioning. You will get the color you want. Also put a plastic bag over your dye while processing.

I used the Medium Brown Touch of Gray for years then switched to Control GX for about a year. The GX seemed easier but not great coverage unless I used very frequently and seemed to get blotchy dark areas etc.

My new Barber said stop using it. It doesn’t look good. I went back to Touch of Gray, My Barber said what did you do it looks great? So I use it about every 2 weeks On day of haircut (#6 blade on sides) short on top and then 2 weeks later which takes me to next haircut 2-3 weeks.

I don’t use the Comb I don’t use enclosed oversized plastic gloves (too Messy) I use latex gloves apply it all over and wipe off any that gets on skin with tissue. I leave it on about 7 min I don’t get the advertised Salt and Pepper but more overall coverage that is somewhat translucent and shows some gray depending on light conditions It looks natural I tell some people I color my hair and they said they never would have guessed.

I have used hair coloring products (Original JFM + others) for years and also used Touch of Gray previously. Since I have colored my hair 6-8 times per year for over 10 years, I find it relatively easy to color my hair.

My recent experience was frustrating because it seemed like the coloring out of the tube was a lot thinner and runny. I didn’t care for the comb included. I left the product on my hair for 10 minutes versus the 5 minutes (starts when 100% complete with application) as instructed.

Results were HANDFULS OF GRAY and not touch of gray. The frustration when dealing with a runny product was compounded by the weak gray coverage. Maybe I got a bad batch. This product was not easy to use, did not get rid of desired amount of gray and was messy to apply.

I will switch to the Autostop product because of all the prior success with JFM products.

It’s a lot closer to black than brown, but nothing wrong with that unless you’re expecting brown. It could be that it shows darker on me since my original natural color is black, even though it’s white now.

Main thing is it looks like a natural color. The next shade darker (Black) can look unnatural, with a purple tint. So I recommend Dark Brown over Black even if you’re looking for black.

Salt & Pepper & the White. This product does a great job covering my pink thinning scalp. However, I wish they would make a selection with more salt than pepper. I have to buy white and put some of the salt & pepper into the white to make a much lighter grey.

The total white is too white and the salt and pepper is too dark. PLEASE MAKE AN IN BETWEEN COLOR: WHITE with GREY HINTS. Please!!! Or make a compact that is White w/ Touch of Grey ( Swirled powdered form).

Also, when One orders 3 compacts, I expected 3 brushes: one brush for each compact. Other than that, I highly recommend this product!! It works.

I tried the grey color first and it didn’t match my hair at all so I returned it and received the white a few days ago and it matches my hair perfectly. I do have some darker silver around my temples and neck area so I just highlight those areas so it blends in and looks natural.

I have some areas where the hair is very, very thin so I found that after using the product I use a large comb to brush the hairs back and forth and that seems to blend the powder into the hair better so it doesn’t appear so artificial on my pink scalp.

The powder definitely stays in until washed out and all I had to do was comb my hair and the coverage, body and style lasted for a few days. The brush does lose alot of bristles each time I use it which is disappointing and annoying but I have other brushes when this one can’t be used anymore.

I really like the color, the added body and ease of use this hair powder provides and plan to continue using it.

I’m not quite sure what people are doing wrong, but I have used this product for years if not decades to cover up grays. I have black/brown hair with bright white grays and I use the dark brown color.

The color lasts for two months. I have no problem with matching- because the color always “reveals” itself at two weeks- which is normal for all box dye in my experience. I love everything about this kit.

I purchase extra gloves nitrile, hair dye brushes, cheap butterfly clips and disposable shower caps. I do it on a day where my hair is greasy because I’m about to take a shower (this protects my scalp from the color and my hair from damage).

I mix the color and developer together and let it sit while I rub the pretreatment in with my gloved hands. I shake up the color a lot (60 seconds!) and after I see actual color develop I shake it some more and then start applying.

I apply to the top of my hair, brushing it in and then I clip that section off. I work in sections, top, sides and back and then let the dye work for 40 minutes from when I finish applying- cover it with a disposable cap so I don’t drip dye everywhere.

I use all of the bottle for my shoulder length hair. This is key!!!! You need to let the part of your hair that is seen the most sit for the entire time. I rinse it out with cold water only (gloves!!!) and then add the conditioner (the whole tube) and let it set in my hair for 5 minutes (also in a cap) before rinsing it out with cold water and washing it with color safe shampoo in cold water.

I do not apply this with a comb. There is a comb attachment- but I use a brush to spread it on my hair and the comb attachment to spread it on the brush. You want to paint your hair, soaking it with dye.

The other trick is that when I shower, I condition first before I shampoo. This keeps the color in more and I get an incredible volume without my hair getting crunchy.

I have medium brown hair and I bought this product L’Oreal EXCELLENCE Medium Brown 5G by mistake (I usually buy L’Oreal PREFERENCE Medium Brown 5) and figured it is basically the same product so I went ahead and used it.

I was very suprised to see that my hair came out a very dark brown. After the fact I looked at the reviews and saw that quite a number of people said brown came out almost bIack. I have been using L’Oreal Preference Medium Brown 5 for at least 20 years.

My hair is naturally medium brown and I use it to cover greys. When I use Preference, my hair always comes out medium brown. I guess I’ll make sure not to buy Excellence again.

Dear L’Oreal, I’ve been using L’Oreal Excellence hair color 7R Red Penny for many years. Everywhere I go I am complimented on my amazing hair color – the beautiful color, the shine and softness. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that my color was discontinued! I, too, have tried 6R and the color was bland in comparison.

I have now been forced to try other brands to try to duplicate the look of 7R, but to no avail. Please, please, please bring Excellence Cream 7R Red Penny back! The multiple benefits this shampoo provides anyone with blonde hair, whether natural or color-treated, are unparalleled by any other product on the market. It’s the best product available for keeping those brassy undertones at bay, and keep the platinum shades looking bright.

It may take a few Washes to get use to applying a very purple shampoo to your hair, but there’s nothing more effective for removing orange or brassiness from blonde hair. It’s so effective in fact, it can be used as a toner after you’ve bleached your hair to neutralize that ugly orangey color that’s inevitable regardless of your natural color.

We’ve all seen people walking around with that orangey hair with white roots after bleaching their hair. It’s not exactly the best look for anybody. Especially when it can be avoided and get more natural and blended results simply by applying this shampoo after you rinse the bleach out and letting it sit for a few minutes before rinsing out.

It works the same way as the toner your stylist would charge an arm and a leg for to tone your blonde at a salon. Immediately after rinsing the bleach from your hair, while it’s still wet, apply the shampoo and keep a constant eye on it.

Check your color every minute or so until you get the shade your trying to achieve, then rinse throughly followed by a deep conditioning treatment. Even if you don’t get all the brassiness out the first time, give your hair a break to let the follicles close for a few days then use it to tone your hair again.

But be warned, this product works FAST. Once your hair is the desired shade and free of brassiness, this shampoo with start to tint your hair purple if left on for more than a minute or so. But nothing works better to neutralize any orange or brassiness out of your hair.

The platinum blonde you would normally only get by spending over $100 at a salon can easily be achieved in the comfort of your own bathroom using only Clairol Professionaal Silver Lights shampoo.

I basically was a brunette most of my life and worse I had curly hair. So one day as a teenager I just tried to go blonde but wasn’t aware I needed a toner, uhm can you say hello lemonhead 🍋 and I don’t mean the band or the candy.

Well, after years I decided to try it again and I finally did it. But no thanks to this wonderful product right here from Clairol. Shimmer Lights not only helps take out the brassy look(although I do my hair myself, it’s way cheaper and with kids it’s in my lane) but it also helps bring out that beach blonde look most people go for.

I think I have harder time finding a bleach since I color my hair randomly through the year, no real reason as to why but I was always into a quick spur of the moment thing like that. I learned a quick hair dye(change) can really make you feel great, well at least for me.

Anyway this toner is perfect and it doesn’t have a heavy chemical smell or anything. It smells actually really decent. Definitely my go to when I am in the bleaching process, as I am currently. Worth the buy!.

This is a classic for blondes. If you have near white/lightest blonde hair this can dye it lavender. I specifically bought this a year ago to make my hair lavender. You leave it on about 15-20 minutes and you will have lavender/some lavender hues for about 1.

5 weeks. I also used this later on as a regular toning shampoo for my blonde hair and it works great. I have tried other purple shampoos that I like better. This is very drying and smells like faint musky cat pee smell with shampoo.

Those are my reasons for giving it a 4/5. Of course that scent washes out but it’s pretty strong when applying. I think Pravana has the best blonde products.

I’ve never done anything to my hair before and I used this with 40 volume developer, and I went from black to a deep orange with one round of bleach which I think isn’t too bad. I’m no professional but I’m just glad my hair didn’t fall off.

I did a test strand to check if my hair would get stretchy like I’ve seen some on YouTube after using specific bleaches, but it was fine. I definitely would recommend using a plastic bag to wrap your hair if you’re not using foil, so you get an even lift and spray the plastic with some water.

I didn’t do this with the back, so I got patches and the hair that touched my neck was significantly lighter. As for the actual product there is a lot in there which removes panic of ever running out of bleach if you didn’t mix enough.

It doesn’t smell bad either and my roots didn’t sting (I didn’t shower my hair for 3 days before bleaching).

If I knew this product was from your store (bought online), I would have bought it from somewhere else. The 2 snarky ladies that quipped that I had to wear a mask or could not shop there (in store) should have been the last time I attempted to shop from you.

This mistake of buying from you won’t happen again. I can get the products from other stores that respect peoples right to chose. I wonder if this will get deleted like all the other things being censored?.

I have been highlighting my hair for all of my adult life, going to the salon and getting it foiled when I could afford it, which was most of the time, however with the pandemic and money being tighter, I went back to doing my own hair at home.

I have used professional bleach with developer, and every kit available, and this is the one that is most reliable, and easiest to use. I started out not using the cap, and I know some YouTube tutorials for this kit show people painting on highlights, instead of using the cap.

I did that, and it works fine if you know what you are doing, and if you make sure to saturate each section you are highlighting, and then over your hair as it develops so it doesn’t dry out. That’s actually a lot of steps that could end up not going well, and if your hair doesn’t process fully, it will be orange.

At some point I decided I wanted to get it closer to my scalp, and I decided to use the cap as I used to do when I was a teenager. It came out really well! I made sure to use a very small highlighting hook, (the metal one in the kit is small, but I have one that it tiny, like 1/4 of the size of the one that comes with it, and I created my own holes, pulling tons of fine pieces through, instead of fewer chunky highlights.

It was time consuming to pull the hair though the cap, but when it was done, it looked like I’d had my hair professionally foiled. Frankly, I was surprised! I was thinking it was going to be a disaster.

Make sure when you pull the hair through, to not make huge holes, that bleach can leak into, and inspect the hair you pull through to make sure it is fully pulled through, with no loops of hair that will lead to patchy hair.

It is important to fully saturate the hair with the bleach, cover it, and let the hair process until it’s the level you are hoping to achieve, and not to rinse it too quickly. Somewhere between the inside of a banana, and the color of spaghetti, is the color I wait for my hair to get to.

Otherwise I have to do a lot of toning, and if you use this kit properly, you actually might only need the toning rinse that comes with it. I always do a brown root smudge the next day after highlighting, and fix any spots with the brown dye that might not have turned out perfectly.

I like to do a root smudge to blur the lines that might happen if hair is pulled through a hole that wasn’t right above where it was growing from, and to make it look more natural.

This stuff is my jam!!! I have used it for so long, and always love the results. I have really thick hair, and having to sit at the hairdresser for highlights is painfully boring and time consuming. This kit comes with a plastic highlighting cap and metal hook to pull your hair through.

I brush through my hair really well, and it’s so easy to pull my hair through with the metal hook. It makes such a HUGE difference in time and control compared to plastic ones. just make sure it doesn’t get near any of your dye— but you don’t mix that until your ready to immediately put it on.

It also comes with a leave in toner. Love this stuff. I leave it on longer than the recommended time too 🤷‍♀️.

Great hairdryer. Light weight to hold so no arm soreness. I also find that my hair is not fly away anymore and I don’t need to use a straightener as much. My hair feels much healthier and smoother.

Excellent product! Identical to the one I used to have in Europe. Made in Italy. Extremely powerful dries my thick hair in minutes. Not inferior to Dyson, in my opinion.

Parlux always delivers great quality and this one does not disappoint. It is lightweight and drys hair quickly. This is my second one in as many years. I have had a Dyson for the last 4 years and it does nothing but cut out frequently and the filter cap keeps coming loose!! Back to Parlux for reliability.

I decided to purchase Virgin Snow, after spending countless hours online watching YouTube tutorials. I had been trying to find the perfect product that could turn my bright pee yellow hair to the platinum white I so desperately wanted.

( I was 15, and didn’t have the money to do it the right way, going to a professional would have meant multiple appointments spread out over a month or two. ) These were the glory days for emo/scene kids, who like me dyed and styled their hair at home.

So of course I mistakenly looked at them as though they really knew what they were doing. Anyway many of them mentioned Manic Panic Virgin Snow Toner in their WordPress Blogs or Youtube videos. So I made the $25.

00 purchase. I was so ecstatic that I didnt even use gloves or wrap a towel around me before getting started. I literally just dug my hands in, and squished the goop into my hair. My fingers ,especially my nailbeds started to burn after 30 minutes of doing my hair that way.

Looking back that makes me question the ingredients since Manic Panic is known for not using harsh chemicals and for being all vegan. So, to wrap this review up, I emerged from the bathroom disappointed, as my hair looked exactly the same.

The only difference was the smell of my hair. I was so mad, especially since $25 was a lot for me to spend on just one thing at the time. So if you are looking for a toner that will take you from yellow to white, I’m here to tell you that it most definitely won’t.

If you want A toner that can remove brassy yellow tones from your hair then most already know this but look into the Clairol toning shampoo Shimmer Lights. Manic Panic won’t work for toning, probably because it’s not strong enough to remove most brassy tones.

Your hair will have to already have white tones for this to do diddley squat to it.

I was done with wasting my money on purple shampoos that just made my hair dry and brittle, and I was definitely done with chemical toners that damaged my hair further. I went to Sally’s to buy Manic Panic Ultra Violet dye with intentions of mixing it with conditioner to use as a toner (saw this method on Reddit).

But while browsing I saw the Virgin Snow toner, and decided to try it first. First impression, my god this stuff smells amazing! Just a really light, clean scent- no chemical smells at all. My method: I first brushed my hair throughly and started to apply the toner.

You should probably wear gloves, but I didn’t because I like to use my bare hands, and did not have any issues with this product staining my skin. I started at my ends (my hair is ombré, so the ends are very blonde while my roots are brunette).

I worked it into all of the blonde. A little goes a long way. Unlike chemical toners, this made my hair more manageable / detangled as I applied it. I was able to comb through my hair easily with a vented brush to ensure a saturated application.

My hair is very long, but since I only did the ends, I used about half the tub. I put my hair up and wrapped in plastic wrap. I let it sit for about 20 minutes (shorter time than recommended, as my ends were looking very gray/blue and I panicked!).

I rinsed thoroughly, and since my hair smelled amazing/was so silky, I did not follow up with shampoo or conditioner. My hair was the softest it had ever been. My yellow ends were a gorgeous white blonde, my orange mid-section was a cool, ashy blonde and it all blended seamlessly.

It even took the red tones out of my roots! I just repurchased today and it’s been over a month since I last applied, and I only just started noticing the brassiness returning! I do not use purple shampoo or conditioner, but I do use Eva NYC Tone It Down! Blonde Leave-in Foam every time I wash my hair so that may help as well (it’s a purple-tinted foaming mousse that also treats damaged hair).

**Keep in mind, this is not a very pigmented toner so works best on very light hair. If you have darker blonde or darker orange / red you’d like to tone, I’d suggest the Ultra Violet dye + conditioner mix.

So much better on your hair than toners & purple shampoo. **.

I’m a heavy highlight cool blonde and struggle to keep my locks that’s way despite expensive shampoos/conditions from the salon. I happened upon this color after a google search. I immediately went to the local beauty supply, was looking for amplified but they only had the voltage.

Followed the instructions and now I’m never going back. This cooled my strands to a beautiful platinum. Not the dull ashy/ grey either. AND. my hair feels soooo hydrated and soft, another plus for processed hair.

I will be spreading the word! A MUST FOR PLATINUM FOLKS.

I have never been so impressed with a dark hair dye in my life. I bought the juniper green and used it to dye a chunk of my hair. The texture of the dye itself is very thick, and therefore less likely to drip and splatter.

It smells fantastic, almost like something you would find in an apothecary. I had previously made the mistake of using splat and completely ruining the bathtub, but this dye took maybe a minute before the water ran clear, and what few stains were left behind came out effortlessly with a magic eraser.

Despite the lack of sticking or transferring of dye to skin, this looks FANTASTIC. The color is vibrant and absolutely gorgeous (photos of the dye itself on the website are very accurate), and while I’ve only just done it I’m eager to see how long this lasts.

Not only that, but I used this on freshly-bleached hair and the dye itself made it feel softer and look less damaged. Stunning, impressive, I can’t even begin to dream of going back. Absolutely stellar product.

This is probably one of the worst hair dyes I’ve ever used. I mixed it with the Blue Velvet because I wanted a slightly more blue shade. It came out a little dark and more purple, but that would have been fine if it didn’t get absolutely everywhere.

I dyed my hair back in August and the dye still stains everything. If anything touches my hair, it will stain. And whenever I wash my hair, which is only every couple of weeks because I have naturally coily and damaged hair, more dye comes out.

I rinse until the water becomes clear and it will still stain something later. Up until like a week ago, my fingers still turned blue when I scratched my head. And the worst part is that when I straighted the front of my hair, some of the dye must have come off because some strands turned blonde again.

I still have a full container left because I did a 1:1 ratio with the blue velvet, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. The only reason I gave two stars was because the color was pretty.

Dude this is the best and most coverage hair dye I’ve ever used! Even for its size, when I had shoulder length hair hardly even used a full container, now I use 1/3 for my short hair. I tried Arctic Fox before I learned about this and the color would wash out first wash! I have used Lunar Tides over a year now and I’m AMAZED at how long the color holds.

I have naturally thick dark brown hair so to use a product I can put right over without bleaching first is a key thing. Plus it softens my hair and smells good. I’ve used black, blue, green, pink, orange from them so far and I love the way my hair looks and feels and the fading of colors doesn’t look ew either.

Quick blue works great! It has worked better for me than any other lightning powder I’ve ever used. I am very satisfied with results. It worked very well with a 40 volume developer to get my hair light enough so Arctic Fox color would be extremely vibrant and fun! I often recommend quick blue to family and friends.

Will continue to buy at Sally’s and use this product. My hair is naturally dark brown/black. In the darker picture below I was lightened with a couple bleach baths and previously had Arctic fox colors Wrath and Purple af in it.

I had not used color remover before bleaching, mostly because I really dislike the smell. Also, I am definitely not a professional. I am just doing this for fun and because I like it. In my opinion, life is too short and its just hair, it grows back.

So have fun and do what you want. Cut it short, color it blue, pink, green, who cares. As long as you like it, it is your hair after all. Don’t let anyone or even yourself hold you back from doing what you want! I hope this review will help someone out there.

I have bleached my hair before an the directions on this product not great 2 ozs is not enough developer it was like baking soda once it had mixed tried to get it in my hair in fpur sections like it says nope was like cement trying to put in my hair.

My husband ended up putting more developer in my hair to try an mix it in an for it to spread more thank god he did cause otherwise it qouldve been patches. Npte i ended up using 2 packets an still not enough I highly dont recommend using this product at all shimmerimg white an developer a lot better.

I couldnt remember what i used last time so igave this a try. It didnt work my hair is now orangish red lookimg an still can see brown to. Called the one I went to years ago they told me shimering white purple label an npw that I see it i can remember that was it an it will get it done first time make sure when you do this it is like a cake batter not a baking soda mixture wont work an it was burning me at the end to.

I don’t know how to feel about this. I purchased from Sally beauty for about $12. 00. I was sick of dying my hair every two weeks because I have to use no ammonia natural hair dye which really doesn’t last long.

So I decided to use this instant color mousse between color treatments and I wasn’t impressed. First, it smells bad, second, it’s darker than advertised and third, it doesn’t last that long. It is Ammonia and peroxide free but I can’t get over the cons with this.

Will not buy again.

I like this product but the outcome was more of a silver grey instead of chocolate brown. My normal natural color is whitish blonde, so maybe it depends what color your hair actually is that determines what color it ends up to be.

Very easy and nice to use. I would recommend it to anyone who does not want to dye their hair!!.

I wish I could rate the product a 0. This product is the new formulation of the Roux #21 color mousse with a small yellow label on the side of the bottle. The old formulation was wonderful & made me look 10 years younger.

I used it for several years. It was a light brown with red highlights. The new formula isn’t even the right color. It is labeled as #21, but it is a black color with gray highlights. HORRIBLE. The color also stained my hands black & wouldn’t come out until I scrubbed & scrubbed my cuticles.

I wrote the company (Revlon) & they blew me off.

I have fine curly hair that gets frizzy easily if I don’t put my Pureology pure volume blow dry amplifier gel or Pureology texture twist reshaping styler in while wet or damp before it starts to dry.

My hair has always taken a long time to dry, somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes. Not anymore thanks to my T3 Featherweight 2! I’ve cut down half my drying time since now it’s dry in 10-15 minutes, not including extra time if it’s frizzy and I use my new T3 twirl curling iron or T3 single pass flat iron.

I straighten it with 1 or all of my 4 round brushes: T3 Volume 3. 0 round, T3 Volume 2. 5 round, Scunci 1” round boar bristle, or Olivia Garden ceramic+ionic thermal oval brush. This hair dryer has a big motor which makes it a bit heavier than other dryers, that doesn’t bother me.

Another great feature is how quiet it is especially if you have a child’s hair to dry like myself. Getting my daughter ready for school in the mornings can be crazy around my house. This dryer helps me with both time management and with its quiet engine, she sits still and lets me dry her hair without a fuss.

The function of the dryer is more important but it’s pretty to look at the Tiffany blue shiny chrome finish.

I love this hairdryer. My hair is type 2a-2b that is fine with lots of texture and thick. This dryer can blow-dry my hair consistently in about 6-8 min. It’s pretty loud and kind of heavy. My hair was past my bra band and is still past my shoulders and this dryer blows it smooth in under 10 min.

I bought a hair dryer holder from Romwe and it doesn’t stay up on it, it’s too heavy or the sticky pad isn’t holding to the wall (it might be that the sticky pad was never sticky enough to hold any tool, or it might be my wall is too textured to hold, but the dryer def doesn’t stay up on the plastic dryer holder).

It does fit in the mdesign metal hair tool caddy, even with the diffuser on. I’m writing this review 2 months after having it. Would def repurchase. And I also purchased a t3 trio wand for curls. I never owned any t3 products before so I have no idea why this was less expensive, but it seems legit to me compared to my old janky hair dryer.

Best for reducing frizz. I tried conair infinity pro, harry josh pro and dyson before buying this. This is best amongst all to give me frizz free look that i was looking for. Hair looks healthier and smoother after using this.

Good ionizer hair, turmoil air flow, 2 speed settings, 3 heat settings, cool shot button. I preferred this one over other models of T3 that has sensor based auto shut off which is erroneous and have lot of complaints.

Not much change in terms of technology you just pay way more for auto shut off which is a failure and few extra speed/heat settings that you dont really need. Saves 100s snd get ghis one instead. Pros: Reduces damage, good heat control, much cheaper at Costco – $80 with round brush included, reduces frizz, shiny hair.

Cons : Not really a featherweight but lighter than above 3, no lock out for cool shot button (you have to hold it), non removable filter, no significant difference in terms of drying time.
