20 Best Low Pressure Tire Gauge (2023 Updated)

Great air pressure gauge. Well made and accurate. I purchased it for use on my riding lawn mower and other smaller wheeled carts and tractor that has low pressure tires. Proper tire pressure on a riding lawn mower is essential for proper and even cut, before leveling out the mower deck.

This is by far the nicest gauge I have ever had the pleasure of using. Love that it has max 30 psi range. Precise accuracy for my off road racing build. Will suggest this to everyone in our 4×4 group here in Utah.

You can’t beat Jaco products and customer service! This tire gauge works perfectly and easy to read especially with the back lite. I highly recommend this tool for low pressure tires.

01/19/22: Originally purchased in and used until now. Can’t find it and I’m not sure if it grew legs or I just put it away, unlikely since I use it all the time, and forgot. Either way, back for another.

It’s hard for me to read but served me well and I tend to be loyal. I always use the gauge on the tire inflator as a quick measure and then verify with this one.

Great low pressure tire gauge. I have a Grasshopper mower and the tires run at low pressure. With this guage it much easier to read than a standard gauge that measures higher pressures

I recently switched to using ONLY Milton gauges — yes, they do cost a bit more, but I believe that it will be cheaper in the long run. I’ve had to throw away so many cheap gauges over the decades, I could have bought Miltons and come out ahead.

And, some of those cheap gauges caused me to improperly inflate some tires, which can be unsafe. This Low Pressure-range gauge works beautifully — it’s necessary for accurate inflation of my ATV tires, and riding lawn mower tires.

I bought several, and stuck them in convenient places. I’ve done the same for various Pressure-Range Milton gauges — standard range for my car, higher range for my towing truck, and the High range for my Air Shocks and bicycle tires.

They all work great — you MAY see a variation of about one pound between one Milton gauge and another Milton, but that’s perfectly acceptable for me.

I was skeptical of a digital gauge because I figured they would be somehow less accurate. This gauge was put to the test. I kept it in my work shorts pocket for a few days and periodically would test every tire I had, including one on my wagon that has a slow leak.

It was consistently spot on. And it lights up bith on the read out as well as the tip so it acts as mini green flashlight. Glad I got one.

Non-replaceable battery and a light that can’t be turned off. Ugh! I would not have bought this if the description was clear that the battery cannot be replaced. I never want to buy anything like that.

This “feature” makes it useless as an emergency tool since it could fail fatally at any time. Ecologically irresponsible to manufacture such crap. Get a mechanical one, or one with a standard size, replaceable battery, not this thing.

The battery will die on you when you need it the most. You have to restart the device in between taking each tire pressure reading. And then your batter will be low because the light stays on, and you will not get an accurate reading bc the battery is low “Lo Bat” will read on the display.

Hard pass on this trash!.

After using the old fashioned push out analog for my whole life I was a bit dubious to try this, But at this price I figured why not. My mechanical one is tedious and sometimes have to measure several times to get a reading that I thought was correct.

And sometimes it let more air out than I wanted skewing the reading. But that’s they way we did it. I turned this on and wasn’t really happy to see so many choices. All I wanted was PSI. So I cycled through until I got to PSI.

I pressed it onto the valve and It registered almost immediately with little or no loss of air. OK I thought not bad. This week it was time to check all 8 tires again. I hadn’t noticed this since the last time I used it but it remembered my PSI setting, and continued to remember it through my tire filling.

Of course I brought my mechanical one along to check it. Once again not a solid connection and loss of air with the mechanical one. After the second tire I didn’t use the mechanical one again. No air loss, fast readings and I didn’t say but the AstroAI Digital was always within.

5 pound of the mechanical one. The filling went much faster with less double checking and faulty connections. It saved time and effort! I would have liked a small nub or bump to help me let air out when I put in to much but no big deal.

My old one will be good for that.

While these gauges do what they are intended for you are essentially getting what you pay for here. Upon unboxing all three gauges they feel like the cheap plastic pieces that they are made of. Very lightweight with very little heft to them The plastic body is very slick which makes it hard to hold on to especially in awkward angles.

There is also nothing to use to release air in the case of an overinflated tire. Finally the LCD readout can be funny to see, looking straight on it’s hard to read the dim/washed out numbers but tilt it to 15-20 degrees away from you and it is clear as day.

This was the same for all three gauges. Now on the positive side, the light is nice on the nozzle and the screen especially in the dark. In actual use, reading tire pressure is fast and all three gauges were within 1 psi of each other.

The fact that I purchased a three pack to have a couple to throw into the glove boxes of the cars for emergencies and have a spare for the garage these will do just fine.

As accurate as my $90 Motion Pro 08-0684 digital gauge; they actually read exactly the same at 14% the cost. This proves tire pressure gauges don’t have to cost a fortune to be accurate. I came to realize there is no need to pay more than $15-$20 for a TPG.

Digital is definitively better than analog bourdon tube mechanisms. Incorrect tire pressure translates to premature tire wear, degrades ride quality, can increase fuel cost and cause long-term suspension damage, so to me, anything beyond a 1.

5 Lbs. reading error is a big deal and unacceptable. I recommend this gauge; it meets my needs and I would buy again.

SX tire gauge works as I expected. After checking 8 tires on my two quads I checked them again and got same readings. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to everyone who wants an easy to read and accurate low pressure tire gauge, Chuck.

The gauge in the picture is not the one you get, but it is still a decent gauge. It is the same make as the better gauges you could probably find in your local parts store, but they probably won’t have this low pressure version.

I have been looking for a tire guage like this for a long time. It keeps the pressure so you can read it without having to keep it on the valve stem and the end swivels to make it easy to get on the valve stem.

Of course all for an affordable price.

I really like this gauge with two minor exceptions. I deducted them in the “ease of installation” column. 1} After using the gauge and twisting to position the valve end compared to the gauge end, the hose came unscrewed.

It would be nice if the hose wasn’t detachable and still swiveled. 2) It bleeds air off too slowly using the button. Works well for minor adjustment, but if I need to lose a half a pound or more I’m forced to use the post on the back side of the valve end of the hose.

These are minor annoyances. If I’d known of them before, I’d probably still have purchased it.

Got to use this gauge this weekend. I bought it to use on track, I drag race & check pressure before every pass. It isn’t the best one I have. It has an odd action (slowly rises about 50% of the pressure, then jumps to the pressure it wants to read) and the chuck hurts when you press on it because it has the little pin on the back you can use to let air out if needed.

The pressure release button only works on the gauge, it doesn’t release pressure in a controlled way to lower tire pressure, it’s just there to maintain whatever the last gauge reading was. I had to release air with the chuck.

But yes, it does work as a tire pressure gauge. As long as you’re okay with it’s other flaws.

I bought this gauge because the description, in two places, said it had a 4” tube and I felt this would help with the difficult to access valve stems on my motorcycle. It only has a 2” tube just like the less expensive Summit gage.

I called Summit and they sent me, post haste, another Autometer gage with a 12” SST braided hose. They let me keep the first gage because of return shipping cost. So I now have 2 new Autometer gages to use with my 2 other gages and all 4 read the same pressure whether 5 psi or 55 psi.

These are quality made gages. Summit has been and still is the best auto parts / equipment company to deal with.

Anyone can afford an excellent tool like this. Much better to have a gauge with a narrow 0-60 range, so you can more accurately gauge pressure. I ignore manufacturer’s recommendation and innate to 37 pounds to maximize fuel economy and tire wear on the average passenger car.

You can do it accurately with this gauge. I tried electronic gauges and got tired of failures and dead batteries. Some things are better mechanical!.

Like the length of the hose from the gauge to the end you put on the tire. Really like that the gauge locks in the tire pressure so that you don’t have to read while holding the end on the tire. Over all very satisfied.

I did quite a bit of research to find the best tire gauge tool to use on the race track. There are many tools on the market and some are much more expensive, so I asked the Pirelli tire guys and they mention that they use this tool and it works great.

I bought one for myself and it has been working great. It is important to keep the gauge away from sun and heat because the batteries heat up and the tool stops working.

Excellent reusable filter element, used by the likes of F1 teams in professional racing. Well built, no fitment issues. Sounds slightly better, freer breathing, could be slightly more competitively priced against some of its other competitors.

Upgraded to the digital gauge after my Motion Pro liquid filled gauge went vastly out of spec after 3 years. Unlike that model, this one doesn’t need to be exposed to the atmosphere to remain accurate.

Back lit screen is a nice touch, and no signs of needing the batteries replaced after several months of frequent use.

My tractor has calcium chloride filled tires which will destroy a regular tire gauge. I like the Milton brand because of quality, accuracy and ease of cleaning. I have used many brands and these seem to last the longest.

None will last for years but if you clean them by putting the end in a glass of water and pulling the plunger out repeatedly every time you use it will last much longer. Calcium Chloride is just salt water which is extremely corrosive.

Now they are using beet juice which isn’t corrosive but is sticky and the gauge still will need to be cleaned if you want it to last. These gauges are for tractors, would be very irritating to use on car or truck tires as the plunger will spring back in when it is not connected to air pressure and not hold the reading as car gauges do.

Good choice for tractor tires.

The pressure reading was accurate – checked against another gauge – and it had no problems with the little bit of fluid resulting from the first pressure check. I would wish that the gauge was not spring loaded and did not retract when pressure is removed – it would be a little easier to read the gauge, but it works and works with a good price.

Do you have liquid filled tires on your tractor? THIS is the product to get. Appears to read accurately. You still need to minimize the liquid injection by having the stem near 12:00 but this gauge wont be ruined if you get a little liquid in it.

Only annoyance is the pressure readout is spring loaded so you must read the pressure with the gauge ON THE STEM otherwise it springs back to 0. Not a biggie. Solid product.

I purchased this gauge because it had high marks, made in USA, doesn’t need batteries, and the cost is very reasonable. I’m very glad I did. There is a little collar around the air inlet, almost like a well, the helps to helps to align the unit so it sits flat against the tire valve.

It makes it much easier to get a pressure reading. I have an old gauge where there is no such collar around the air inlet. It sometimes took some fumbling, and loss of air, before I got it to seat properly on the valve to get a good pressure reading.

Goodby old gauge. Everybody should have this gauge. There is really no good reason not to.

This Milton tire pressure gauge only lasts a few years before becoming inaccurate. The Milton tire pressure gauges used to last longer. I have one that lasted ten years. But the latest Milton gauge I bought only lasted two years.

I take excellent care of my gauges.

I bought this gauge several years ago, and at this price it’s hard to imagine a better TP gauge. A recent TPMS warning light situation that showed up on my daughters mini van prompted me to order one for my son-in-law.

If like me, you do your own seasonal tire changeovers, you will be well served to have one of these in your garage.

Very nice, high quality gage. It works great on those difficult to reach rear duals which is the main reason that I purchased it. It will encourage me to check my tire pressure more often now, even with a TPMS.

A high-end unit, solid build. The selection between different measurement unit got in the way. If I short pressed once, it changes from PSI to other unit system. You have to long press instead to avoid the issue.

Overall nice unit.

Very easy to use and it is definitely an improvement over the the little pencil tire gauge I had. Also works on the rear inner extension cables where my precious gauge would leak by and was inaccurate.

Being a senior female and disabled, I use tools to do projects, but I want tools that don’t require a lot of strength and are easy to use–this digital air pressure gauge works great for me. I selected this digital gauge hoping it would be easier to use than most on both my car tires, as well as the tires on my garden wagon.

It didn’t disappoint. You have to pull the little plastic clear tag out and then you’ll see it has a super bright LED light to see the air valve, but also a large lit digital screen to see the readout of the air pressure reading.

I also liked that if you get pulled away from getting the air pressure reading, the LED light and the large lit digital screen will go off on their own, which is such a good feature. I found this to be a nice small size, has a few grooves underneath so that fingers fit well around it, it fits well in my hand, I LOVE the LED light and the large lit digital readout screen, and is very easy to use.

I also like the lime green and black design, so it is easy to find if you put it down and are searching for it later. I recommend.

At this point in time, designing something like a tire pressure gauge should be close to a no-brainer, but it seems that so many mediocre gauges still exist. This one is an exception: in addition to good ergonomics (yes, ergonomics matter when you’re managing a slow leak at night in the rain), there’s a seriously-legible display – backlit, at that! – as well as a utility light to help you find that valve stem on that rainy night.

Accurate, too: I measured it against my Astro Pneumatic Tool Tire Inflator/Gauge, and was virtually dead-on. Battery life seems decent as well. (Pro tip: even though it isn’t mentioned in the owner’s manual, you CAN manually shut power off on the gauge by simply holding the Power button down for about 3-5 seconds; it shuts off automatically, eventually, but you’ll eke out a bit more battery life by doing it yourself.

It is accurate and fast. I have a random pancake Porter small compressor and a large hundred gallon industrial air compressor they both have regulators and when I set them and then test with this tire pressure gauge it was very accurate.

You do have to turn it off and back on per reading but that is not a flaw that is the logic of a digital psi reader. This is also not a bleeder. Pulling over on the side of the road at two in the morning called out to quickly check for trailer tires was very pleasant with a large LED readout.

While it’s probably NOT COVID related, over the last two years I’ve had a series of issues with tires on my vehicles as well as malfunctions of on board TPMS. I needed an inexpensive, accurate and reliable device to verify tire pressures before operation of my vehicles and this unit meets the need.

The hose allows me to hold the gauge up to my face rather than stoop to the ground, and the pressure relief valve allows for easy bleeding of excess tire pressure. Have one in each vehicle I own, and always believe the second most important safety feature on a vehicle (with #1 being the operator/driver) are good, properly inflated, tires!.

Having purchased a lawn tractor, I found myself needing a tire gauge that would work to show very low pressures. All the “normal” gauges don’t start until about 20 pounds. The tractor tires need to be inflated to 10 and 12 pounds.

That doesn’t leave much room for error. This gauge is perfect for the task and the flexible hose with rotating tip makes it easy to manipulate. I cannot vouch for the actual accuracy of the gauge but I am happy with the results this tool gives me.

After having bought, and lost, countless “small ‘n’ cheap” pressure gauges over time, I took a shot at one a little bigger. Too new to say I won’t lose it, this gauge seems like a keeper. Easy to handle & easy to read.

The reading part was important to me. Seems like it’s pretty well made, so hopefully I’ll have it for awhile. Too big for the average glove box if you use the box for much other stuff, but perfect for the trunk.

I would buy again at this point, without hesitation.

I recommend this to anyone. Get an extra one for your home. Keep one in your back pack or bicycle kit bag. Its handy to have.

Yeah, this is just a tire pressure gauge – but – it is a very easy to read and use tire pressure gauge. It seems sturdy too. So, it is nicest tire pressure gauge I have owned!

I bought this because round tire gauges are easier to push against the valve stem versus the stem-type gauges. I thought the valve was a gimmick. It actually works! It helps you get you a more accurate reading then you bleed pressure from the gauge.

Then you take another reading and bleed pressure until you get down to the proper psi.

I bought this along with another manual gauge to compare with a known accurate electronic gauge and this one is consistently 1. 5 psi low compared to the other two. It is well-built and I like to look of the dial, but I need more accuracy than this one provides.

This works great! Glad to have it and it came loaded with necessary batteries installed.

Bought 2 for our vehicles. Easy to use and hold. Didn’t have to return nonworking one- rep just credited my credit card-easy.

I own and operate many machines, and I find these pressure gauges to be a perfect balance of price and quality. I use the 0-30 psi model for our ATVs and motorcycles. I also own the 60 psi model, which I use for the cars, trucks, and tractors.

I have never used a more user-friendly, accurate, and well-built pressure gauge. The pressure release near the head is an absolute perfect solution, allowing you to place the chuck on the nipple just once, then release the pressure to the target level while viewing the gauge.

The head glows in the dark and does not use batteries, both features that I really like. The analog dial allows you to get much more accurate pressures than a typical digital unit that rounds to 1/2 or 1 psi increments.

There is a rubber bumper around the dial, which I have inadvertently used several times. The package comes with the installed swivel chuck, plus a separate brass angle chuck if that works better.

I had to finally put my 15lb. tire gauge to rest when I switched to radial slicks. This gauge appeared to be a good value and I didn’t want anything digital/electric, so I made the purchase. This gauge is accurate, easy to read, and the glow in the dark is bright! I do hope it stays that way in the future!.

A solid piece of kit for the shop. The analog is a bit tricky requiring minor assembly of a pressure equalization valve. Simple but fiddley. Compared to the digital gauge it lacks the special motion pro valve chuck.

Very pleased with this gauge. Easy to use due to swivels at air chuck and at gauge head. Bleed button ensures correct pressure is spot on. I have noticed improvement in bike handling now that they have correct pressures! Great piece of kit!.
