20 Best Lotion For Sunbed Tanning (2023 Updated)

I’m on a vacation with my husband in the Dominican for our 5th anniversary, and I bought some of this before our trip. I used it on Monday, and kept using it throughout the week…only just yesterday did I realize that the painful and extremely itchy rash that has developed on my arms was caused by this oil.

Nothing like this has EVER happened to me before, and it was my first time using this product. I’m obviously not near my home, so I can’t just go to the doctor. The concierge at the resort at which we are staying called a pharmacy to have some hydrocortisone cream delivered for me.

It cost us $40 for a tiny tube. We fly home tomorrow and I’m not sure I’ll have enough to last me until I get home. I’m very upset as this has definitely affected our vacation. I’m miserable and it’s all because of this oil.

I’m seeing now that there are tons of reviews all over the internet where people are saying this have them a horrible rash. Even if I had seen them, I probably still would have purchased this, because I have used Sun Bum products in the past with no issue, and am not allergic to ANYthing.

So instead of enjoying my last day in paradise, I am in pain and so very itchy. Even the cream doesn’t really totally relieve it. I really feel like this product should be removed from shelves until something is figured out.

I will be telling every one of my friends to steer clear of this. I really wish I hadn’t used it, but it’s too late now and I’m stuck with this agonizing rash. Please do better.

I found this stuff on the ulta website and despite mixed reviews decided to give it a try. I took this stuff with me to South Padre in hopes of laying on the beach and getting a nice tan but this stuff did not work for me at all.

Mostly because I couldn’t get it to absorb into my skin. I followed the instructions, applied sunscreen first then after giving that a few minutes to dry I applied this lotion. It just made a mess all over my swimsuit and towel.

I thought maybe the sunscreen was preventing it from absorbing completely so I tried applying this before the sunscreen and still couldn’t get it to absorb. And it has a really bad smell. Smells like cocoa butter and chocolate.

I would have returned it but I ordered it online because there’s no ulta store near me and mailing it back is more hassle than it’s worth so I ended up throwing it away and buying some banana boat tanning oil.

Daisy and I went to the bahamas on our honeymoon. Daisy wanted to get a tan and I wanted protection from the sun. We tried out this tanning oil since it seemed to accomplish both our goals. We each ended up with a terrible rash everywhere we put it on.

I ended up with it a lot worse than her because I was applying liberally every 80 minutes as directed (I hate getting a sun burn). We broke out on our arms, legs, and especially on the stomach. ZERO stars!! It took us a while to figure out what was causing it since we were traveling and had a lot going on, but we googled this product and saw several of other reviews (CVS, Target, etc) with pictures *oof* that mentioned this.

I do not have especially sensitive skin btw and I’ve never gotten a rash from anything else. Will NEVER use this product again and I think they should have a warning label or something. To be fair, neither of us got a sun burn.

I remember my Mom having her friend pick this tanning lotion up for her from FL from when I was a little girl, I always remembered the smell of it and loved it! When I got older, I went on a hunt for this tanning dry oil and lotion and as soon as I saw the Koala and orange cap, I knew I found it! I always purchase this exact one and it really helps jumpstart your tan especially those of us stuck in the Midwest lol! I love how it soaks into your skin so quickly and it isn’t oily or sticky and smells amazing!!! I would absolutely recommend this to others who haven’t tried it! I will continue to buy Australian Gold for as long as it it available, which is hopefully forever!!!.

I can’t find this on Wpg. shelves as of last year and a half, so glad to find it on well. ca. Don’t let the label fool you into thinking it’s oil, or oily, because it’s a gel. I have always used this because when rubbed on your skin it doesn’t roll off into “dimethiconey like balls” or pieces like the others, especially when layered with other lotions or creams.

It is a transparent brown gel. It has a small amount of natural bronzer from walnut. I don’t like dha bronzers, they tend to make me turn orange. I like to use the dry oil as a serum on my face before i put on another cream.

This dry oil is safe for indoor tanning beds, and is a cheap alternative for pricey tanning lotions. I like to use it as a starter before I move on to tingle lotions. I use this dry oil for outdoor tanning too, and it is nothing like an oil, and doesn’t clog my pores and make me break out.

Love the scent!.

Since I have dark olive skin (when I’m tan) this is my go to. It’s got a great summery feel to it, scent is tropical and delicious. Helps keep my skin softer as well. I tend to have dryer skin and suffer from ketosis pilaris so this doesn’t irritate my skin, it instead helps with the dry cracking.

When I’m out at the beach I like to feel sexy and tan, and once I get my base tan going this is all I use all over, except my face. It doesn’t get five stars because the package can get greasy and hard to manage in sand.

Fix that and I’ll be super excited. I keep my products in a ziplock bag and then in a pouch for protection, however I still get sand everywhere and on this packaging it tends to stick and stay. If you want a nice deep dark tan and can handle it, use this for your tanning lotion or oil.

You get what you pay for and Elizabeth Beauty Products always delivers the best lotions at half the cost. Even when there’s a mishap with the shipping, such as mine. It happens. EBB straightened everything out promptly and had my bottle delivered to my door in just a few days.

I will continue to purchase from them time and time again. As an avid tanner, I’ve tried almost every product line there is, but have found the Designer Skin line to be the best one for me and my body chemistry.

Even the bargain DS products are superior to the “others” premium. The bronzing, the after tan smell, and the absorption is luxurious. Although I’ll continue to experiment, the only 2 lotions I’ll ever need are the DS Missbehaved and the Awestruck.

They’re incredible! The longevity of these lotions are unheard of. I have a lot more free time because once a week, in a 12 minute bed, is all I need to maintain my tan. Buy it now!.

Well it was Amazing on bronzing my skin with the black beads i saw almost instant results and no it didnt wash off in shower after tanning i loved it However after 2 days Red Hives started popping up all over me and I Itched to death.

So the only downside is I was allergic to something in this lotion. Which makes me Very SAD.

If you want to get dark fast this is great. But you must rub in completely or you will have major streaks. Also, I spilled a little bit of water down my leg after applying ( which I thought was already soaked in) anyway after tanning I noticed I had a white line down leg.

This lotion reminds me of really bad self tanners. But gets you dark fast but don’t know if worth the hassle. Also wear gloves or wash your hands really really good right after applying. I’m r align soap water and scrub.

I loved it at first. The first 2 weeks were great I looked really dark but these last 2 1/2 weeks of using it I feel like I’ve gone back to square one not as dark. Yes I tan at least 5x a week. I don’t know what happened.

But now I have to work on looking for a different lotion because I don’t like this and the way it’ll work for a few weeks. It does smell good but I also do smell burning at the same time. If I spend money for lotion I expect it to work to the last drop in the bottle plus some and this one doesn’t.

Too bad because I like the smell and the way it makes my skin feel.

Very good tanning lotion. Works well establishing a nice tan and smells great. The only downfall in my opinion is that it seems to have a lot of self tanner in it so if there’s any way to wipe your hands immediately after applying it, I recommend doing so!.

Great tanning lotion!! It doesnt leave you feeling all yuck or orange so that’s extremely important. It comes out Clear from the bottle so it doesn’t stain your clothes or anything!! My only issue is there’s not much in that size of a bottle, so if I had a suggestion It without her larger sizes but staying fairly cheap.

Absolutely love this product. So light and easy to apply and the results are unreal. Gives me a great bronzed look after tanning and I rate it 10/10!

I used to LOVE this tanning lotion, I used it for years, they recently changed the formula, probably to increase the bronzing power, but the after-smell is awful. It leaves your skin smelling like coconut-laced playdough.

It USED to smell fantastic and have true clear bronzers. The new bronzers an you much more quickly and leave a more golden color, but they are definitely no longer “clear” they leave discoloration on your hands and in lines/creases.

This never used to happen before. Highly disappointed that Fiesta Sun changed their formula, on a hunt for something new now.

I got great results from this lotion and will definitely buy it again. This entire line has great skin care and it very moisturizing. Great lotion & I love the smell. Great value

Smells heavenly and really easy to massage in. Doesn’t leave you feeling sticky and it really does boost your tan.

I was dubious about the great reviews I read about this lotion but decided to give it a try anyway. I started using this before the summer and I can’t believe the difference it makes. I would have naturally pale skin and it used to take forever for me to get even a base tan but with this lotion I can see the difference after the first session! It has no bronzer in it so at least you know all the tan is really yours lol and it leaves your skin really soft and smooth!.

I thought that this was a tanning lotion that was to be used outside to accelerate the tanning process, but this is an actual self tanner, and I usually do not like a self tanner. This one though, because of it’s thin consistency is easy to apply with no streaking and it is not at all orange! I am wearing a light yellow dress today and nothing transferred nor did it when I placed a light pink purse on it the first time I used it.

I will order this again.

This product is very streaky and feels very unpleasant on the skin. Even after a wash it still looked very streaky. I think if the formula was less oily it would coat the skin more nicely ! I definitely would not but again.

My review from iamtan. com 06/17/2011 I like this lotion a lot and will be getting it. I liked the scent its supposed to be “Fresh Pomergranate”,to me it was punchy/citrusy. I had some ato but nothing unbearable.

this is one I’d use when I know I’m gonna be home after tanning. Overall its nice and moisturizing and I felt slight warming and the bronzers in this are pretty good. Hours after tanning and using this my husband came home complimenting me on how nice and dark my tan was! 5/5 stars.

First time using this product and I am very satisfied with Black & Tan! I would recommend this to all who wants to try it out. I’ve only used it the 5 times I’ve been tanning and I’ve noticed from the very 1st time I’ve used it.

Amazing. I keep buying it over and over. I did try a couple, but they hardly work. This 1 is working the same day as I put it on when I go to sunbed. I can differently recommend it. Also you can same money to go to the sunbed.

Smells amazing and really enhances my tanning when on a sunbed. I have seen a noticeable difference in using this product. It has also been voted in previous top tens for sunbed creams! I received my cream within 2 days of purchase also.

This actually does work , it has beautiful light feel on , not sticky, and has fantastic smell. Have used it fir last 18 months and have bought many many tubes. All After having wasted money on others.
