20 Best Lotion For Peeling Sunburn (2023 Updated)

I tried this one, because I love the Sun Bum SPF50 roll on sunscreen so much. It’s EASILY my new favorite. I’ve always loved the aloe type aftercare products. This one has it in it as the first ingredient, but the consistency is so much better than other aloe products I’ve tried.

It’s not sticky, I usually will put it on 2-3 times on my not-so-sun-friendly places that happened to get burnt. I wish it would let me add my picture of the day after being burnt. It goes down SIGNIFICANTLY! To the point where you wouldn’t be able to tell that I was burnt.

The way that the tea tree leaf oil soothes my skin, the natural cooling sensation of the aloe, on top of air drying in front of a fan, is AMAZING. It’s my holy grail go to now.

I had a second degree burn on my nose (I have an auto immune disease and it causes severely dry skin). I sat outside for two hours without sunscreen- it didn’t seem hot enough and I was in the shade *awful mistake*.

Before I made a dermatologist appointment I was willing to try anything- this saved me a doctor appointment. Note that it does feel “tight” and “sticky”. I applied 3 times a day and then before I went to sleep.

I wish I could post the before and after photos here! The HOLY GRAIL of sunburn and peeling relief.

I am a 52 year old in Louisiana who has never really used any skin products. After an extended day on the beach and a little excess sun it tried this product. I would give it 6 stars if I could, I now use it twice a day all over my body.

The reason I say guys will love it: 1. No greasy feel! 2. Not typical lotion feel 3. Apply and it soaks in quickly and feels great 4. It truly is an incredible daily moisturizer. 5. People now see me at the pool and beach and literally ask why my skin is so smooth.

I already use another body lotion, so I just got this product for something fun to try on my vacation. I was a little nervous because I don’t like scented products and I knew this had some fragrance.

Good news is that the fragrance is very light, doesn’t linger and has more of an essential oil smell than a masking smell. So, from a scent perspective, you will like it even if you don’t like scented products.

I promise! As a moisturizer, it’s really nice. Does the trick – not too thick, not too thin. I used it during my entire trip and it was great!.

I got a completely unexpected sunburn on my face that was horrible. No moisturizers worked like this cream – it helped me heal after the first day and even stopped peeling from happening. And the fact that I was able to liberally apply this on my FACE is a testament to how beautifully made this product is – it’s light and smooth but you feel the nourishing effects right away.

This stuff literally SAVED my face and I will 100% stand by using it for the rest of my body should I get burned again!!!.

This is the holy frigging grail of post-sun products!!!! Seriously I’m amazed! I’m a Floridian through through but my Irish/British heritage fails me in the skin vs sun department. (for reference I’m not paper white pale, my skin does hold a golden colored natural tan-not dark deep-but if I’m out in the sun after not being so for a prolonged period of time is when I burn easier)With that said I’ve learned I haven’t had a true sunburn since I was in high school.

This past week however I went on a mid-day yacht cruise for a work because of the purpose didnt even think to do my usual beach day pre putting clothes on at the house full sun bum sunscreen lather… BIG MISTAKE this soflo sun destroyed my covid not tanned whatsoever skin within 3 hours.

I was in so much pain. sun bum is one of my favorite brands that is eco/REEF friendly that have never let me down I’d seen their “cool down†products but didn’t have use for them. They immediately came to mind I ordered the gel.

It gives you SO much more relief than regular aloe gel I don’t feel that normal dryness that comes from traditional aloe which is great because I have sensitive finicky skin. Plus on top of that OMG INSTANT RELIEF.

Like before it arrived I was at times holding back tears normal skin soothing lotions aloes only seemed to actually make it hurt more. I will forever keep this as a staple in my medicine cabinet. It’s so magical I’m sure I’ll find ways to use it for more than just sunburns :).

My honeymoon was an amazing time in Hawaii. We rented a convertible and the second day we drove across the island with the top down. However I didn’t reapply my sunscreen and wound up SCORCHED. I am talking about little blisters and tomato red skin.

My husband and I were crushed. We had over a week left and a couples massage the next day. I scoured the internet and found that earl gray tea with sun bum was the best remedy. The earl gray uses antioxidants to resolve the sunburn and the sun bum soothes the burn.

I slept in a shirt soaked in earl gray tea after being lathered in sun bum. The next day, MY SKIN WAS NO LONGER RED! It was still a little tender and a couple of the blisters popped but I managed to enjoy my massage and use the sun bum to further soothe my skin.

I enjoy this product…. I keep it in the refrigerator for a cooling lasting affect. It’s thick so leave time before putting on any clothes or climbing into bed! Has a light aloe scent.

This is a great aloe gel to smear all over your body when you have laid out in the sun for much too long without proper sunscreen. I am a pale being with great need for this, in the summer, as it heals my sunburn and feels absolutely spectacular against that horrible heat in my flesh.

This will instantly cool down your body and help heal it, as well, after a nasty sunburn. Or just for an everyday moisturizer, as well. I will purchase this again and recommend others give it a try, too.

Has the gentle cooling effect that is so necessary after a day out in the summer sun. Sunburns can be extremely uncomfortable but this product is sure to make it more bareable. It’s an affordable product.

Can have a sticky after effect if applied too thick.

After a day at the lake, I stopped at the nearest walgreens and purchased this. I was immediately obsessed and started using it as a daily moisturizer. And dare I say, even on my face! It’s moisturizing, it didn’t break me out, it wasn’t oily, and it gave my skin such a nice glow! So I went online to order a backup and I was confused by all the negative reviews.

Apparently the formula recently changed which causes the product to become watery over time. Banana Boat mentioned that they will be changing it back to the original formula but who knows how long that will take.

I would give this 5 start but it’s not the same product. I was just happy to see that Banana boat was responsive and they plan on fixing the issue.

I used this moisturizing lotion for a very, very long time – 10, 15 years or more, and recommended it to everyone I knew. That is, until the formula changed about a year or two ago. Gone was the rich, buttery smooth lotion with a hint of fresh aloe that so many men, women and children loved over the years.

It was replaced with a thin, watery concoction, in a new bottle, that absolutely wreaks of chemicals. I’m writing this because it appears the formula has changed yet again. The consistency is even more thin/runny and the chemical smell is even more pronounced.

I will no longer purchase this product unfortunately. There are others that are far superior, right next to it on the shelf.

I am glad I got this rehydrating and replensihing lotion with aloe vera to sooth skin ater it has been exposed to sun for extended periods of time.

It is gentle with mild smell. I like the texture of this lotion. It spreads easily and is indeed very soothing. It is light weight. The only thing is to not apply on eyes or around eyes.

I have been reading about and trying remedies for aging, acne prone, uneven skin for months! I can not afford high dollar creams, let alone medical treatments! Nor, do I have the time to invest on the shopping, mixing, finding the remedy that will work best for my skin.

I have been using coconut and/or Evo oil from head to toe for a couple months. I love how my skin feels, and the perks from using it on my 33yr old thinning hair line! But. I have to wait to dress, wait to sit on my microfiber couch, keep my hair up, not touch my phone, for the time it takes for oils to absorb.

Plus, it has not faired so well for my facial pores, or my already Deep brow wrinkles, and my adult hormonal jawline acne! Enough babbling!! You can NOT find a product Anywhere for This Price with all these Awesome ingredients you would spend hours trying to mix yourself!! And IF you do, it will be filled with the top few ingredients being alcohol (drying) (unnatural) products! Though I will not give up my essential oils, and home remedies completely, this is without a doubt my new go-to ‘in a hurry, need all in one head to toe’ lotion!! Not to mention, the nice clean smell I have missed from my generic perfume filled lotions.

I will def reccomed to friends. My personal advice, works better on clean skin and a clean face After using a good toner like lemon juice or apple cider vinager. What I wish I had known, That this exsisted before my wrinkles got so deep, and when I was a Tan Salon addict! And just a little extra personal info for anyone starting their aging journey, out of all Ive tried for the acne, organic raw honey has worked best for me.

For the infant And rapid wrinkles you notice and then obsess over!. any pure Vit C or Rose Geraniam oils.

This is a good cream after being in the sun for the day. I have used this cream several times a day after spending time in the sun. The cream is thick and not as liquid as some other creams I have used.

I do not love the scent but its not too bad. After use the skin feels smooth and has moisture. I would recommend this product.

I have used the Ocean Potion Aloe after sun lotion for years. It truly extends my tan. I use it also before I tan becasue it moisterizes and evens out my tan making it more smooth and all over not spotty.

This year I have had difficulty finding it. I orded my last two bottles on line, paying 4 times what I did in stores. I now can not find this on line either. It says discontinued. I’m so disappointed.

It was the only lotion that soaks in well, did what it said and extended my tan. I’ve tryed a couple other brands and have not been happy with them. Also the ocean potion lotion smell is awesome. My hubby loves it too.

We don’t care for the smell of some of the other brands.

This does what plain aloe can’t do! I get sun burnt a lot with my fair skin, and this is the best product I have found so far to treat after sun irritation and burns. It goes on smooth and cools the skin immediately without a strong smell.

My sister-in-law and I went skiing in Colorado and we both got really sun burnt on our face/cheeks. I applied the Uncle Bud’s Hemp After Sunburn Soother that I had packed, and the next morning my skin was 100% better than my sister-in-laws.

This cream is the bomb ,! My skin feels amazingly smooth. It goes on so well and it’s something I will definitely buy again. There is nothing I would change. Great value for money. I enjoyed this product alot.

I own hundreds of SPFs and apply suncream all the time, but because of that I rarely burn and don’t often find the need for after sun. However, given our unusually hot summer, I have found that although I haven’t burned, my skin has been getting really dry does need some extra TLC after sun exposure.

This spray is gorgeous – first of all, it’s great to apply and I can imagine if you had sun burn, not having to rub it in but being able to spray a cooling product directly onto it would be really nice.

The spray action is great with a nice fine mist, and you can choose to saturate your skin with it as much or as little as you like. The cooling effect is really enjoyable and the formula is a lovely oily water type texture.

The product contains aloe Vera and vitamin E, making it really nourishing for your skin. I’d highly recommend this product and I’ll be repurchasing it myself.

this moisturised my skin nicely but i didn’t notice any particular cooling effect (i also wasn’t sunburnt so i can’t say if it soothes irritation and damage). the dry oil texture is a little strange, and i felt like it tended to sit on top of my skin rather than fully sink in, and the spray bottle meant that quite a lot of the oil ended up on my floor and made it weirdly greasy and squeaky.

the scent is a little strange too, can’t quite place it, and i did notice that the main ingredient (after ethylhexyl palmitate, the emollient) was fragrance rather than the aloe or cocoa butter, which is a bad sign for me personally.

overall not a bad product but i think i’d stick to a simple aloe vera gel for after sun in future, especially if my skin was properly burnt.

I absolutely love this gel, anytime we’ve been out in the sun all day this is a must! The gel feels so good on our hot body’s, it cool and soothes our skin. It doesn’t have a strong scent so it’s not bothersome.

The price isn’t bad so it’s a must to try, you won’t regret it.

I love this stuff! I use it for everything! Sunburned ? Aloe Vera. Hair dry? Aloe Vera. Need a face mask? Aloe Vera!!!! This stuff is amazing!

This is the best summer must have item by far. If you been gardening a bit or laying on the beach you still might burn from too much sun!. This aloe gel is very soothing on contact and gives you instant cooling.

and pain relief when it touches your skin. Moisturizing also, this keeps your skin from tha dry cracking feeling know matter how you got the burn, I say that is a win win for everyone’s summer relief from the sun!! Great for adults and children.

Totally agree with SFNY. Have been using this product for years. It was also my go to after a day in the sun but no more with this new formula. It wasn’t soothing at all! Fragrance was totally offensive.

Felt like I was applying a toxic chemical, not something all-natural. Please change it back or you’ve lost a customer for ever.

I’m reviewing Malibu lip balm but it isn’t in the app, frustrating! These are my fave summer lip balms. They have spf 30 with UVA and UVB protection and come in great summer flavours (watermelon my favourite).

Have tried the tan extended version of this product. The smell is lovely and nice and light weight but I did not realise it contained fake tan, no problem it left me looking nice and golden however because I did not know it had fake tan in it stained my sheets and in between my fingers.

I would recommend but it should be clearer that it contains fake tan instead of just tan extender.

I suffer from an allergy to the sun that causes intense itching. This can calm the storm and has a lovely scent and texture. Definitely one that I’ll be sticking too
