20 Best Lotion For Ichthyosis Vulgaris (2023 Updated)

This lotion smells like ashtray. I understand that it’s unscented which is hard to do and it’s and it’s supposed to be for sensitive skin and dry skin but the smell is so horrible. It also leaves your skin feeling sticky and doesn’t really moisturizer very well.

I don’t think this was a successful line.

Works absolute wonders for dry skin! Not only is the smell virtually nonexistent but the lotion itself is amazing. Best for after shaving! If you want to have velvet smooth skin, use this product! A little goes a long way though, which is always great!.

Dove is so soft on the skin and makes for really soft legs in bed. I love laying under my blankets after shaving and putting on lotion. It’s easy to use and not messy while lathering. I would recommend this highly.

As a medical student, I am very concerned about the products I put on my body. The more informed I am the more I learn how gross some of the things we use are! I use this lotion on a daily basis. It really works! Especially for those of you who may have those small annoying red bumps on your arms or legs.

This works by helping to chemically open your pores and clear out that junk that is getting trapped to make those red bumps.

This is usually prescribed by a doctor. My grandmother gave it to me. It’s for external use only. It’s used on the body not the face. It works extremely well. I saw a difference the first use. It may burn the skin because it did for me.

You wash it off immediately with soap and water. I recommend this for adult use only. It really works though.

I have had severe KP my whole life and nothing has ever helped the way this lotion and scrub has. There’s no cure and nothing will ever make me look perfect but this is the closest I’ve ever gotten. The lotion has a funny consistency and smells kind of weird and it doesn’t feel the greatest when you’re putting it on, but the results make it worth the minor inconveniences.

Brilliantly formulated cream. It sinks into the skin so nicely leaving the skin feeling soft and hydrated and leaves absolutely no residue behind. It holds up to the harsh winter weather very well unlike many others and ensures the skin stays hydrated all day long.

My dermatologist recommended this lotion for dry, scaly skin. It does seem to help but is very greasy, and the grease persists and doesn’t dry. I had to use paper towels to wipe it dry after minutes passed without any change in the wetness on my skin.

Also, the main ingredient is an ammonia compound and the stuff smells strongly of ammonia on your skin. I was worried about putting clothes on over it because it is so greasy and smelly. I was certain it would stain and be absorbed into my clothes.

This is probably why my doctor said to only put it on before bedtime, so it will only affect pajamas. I will likely switch to a different lotion because of the grease and smell.

I’ve been using this for nearly 6 months now and I definitely noticed a difference in my skin. I don’t have many problems, to begin with but on my legs especially I suffered from these little bumps that don’t go away and I also had so many of these little coily hairs stuck under my skin that I often had to pluck out with tweezers.

Now I no longer have any bumps or ingrown hairs and I don’t even use this product religiously or anything, maybe once a week or so (I’m still on my first 200 ml tube!). What I like about this product is that a little goes a long way (hence why I’m still using the same tube).

I only use it on my arms and legs/thighs and it really doesn’t take much at all. I also love that it’s very hydrating and leaves the skin very soft and glowy. I give it 4 stars and not 5 for two reasons: first because I’m not in love with the smell.

I ordered this as part of my quarterly orders on my United Health Care plan. Upon receipt I began using it after showers on my NEW creapy and easily bruising skin and arms. It helps a lot. The most important thing to me is no slick and OILY feeling afterwards and the need to remove it! I have tried so many products and cant wait to get them or their fragrance OFF my hands!! Too clingy, slimy, sticky, or oily or the smell was like nasty toilet water! However this product smells like a lovely, soft vanilla and is silky on the hands and is barely noticeable except, yes, EXCEPT your hands and body feel LUXURIOUS afterwards.

It stays on when you put them in water and doesnt require more applications so you get your moneys worth. Plus, this saves me time in having to stop and reapply more and more, which I hate to do. Another BEST in my book, is that I suffer from itchy and painful psoriasis on my elbows and nothing that my Dr has ever provided has given me relief.

My Husband had a major stroke September 2015. The hospital had a small bottle of this in his care package. It worked so well I had to look and see if it was available to purchase on the open market. It is the only lotion I have found that not oly quickly norishes and helps repair dry skin, it smells great with out being full of perfumes.

We are both scent sensitive. It rubs in easly and does not sit on top of the skin as most lotions do. A lotion that sits o top does not let your skin breath and you never get rid of that greesy feel, it will also make you perspire.

When this happens your pores clog and you get break outs or just feel plain uncomfortable. This is the only lotion I have found that does not do that. We love it. I still use it on my husband and he has no skin break down that can happen with people that can not move well and the skin gets thin & dry.

Ladies this lotion has changed my life for the better, I was born with what some call “chicken skin” aka (Keratosis pilaris) on the back of my arms but ever since using this product those bumps have gone down tremendously, I definitely would recommend buying this for those who suffer from bumpy arms however fair warning the smell is a bit off, honestly it’s the only thing I would change about the product, but the results are worth it plus the smell goes away once it drys so no worries! 🙂 overall a 10/10 I got mine at target btw for those wondering where to get it.

Amlactin is my savior!! I had the roughest skin on my upper arms. It was bumpy and blotchy and just terrible. After only 2 days of applying Amlactin morning and night I totally felt a difference! After one week you could see the skin tone evening out.

Now I can say that my arms are soft and smooth enough that I sometimes find myself stroking them unconsciously. The only thing about Amlactin is it smells slightly medicinal. though once you run it in the smell goes away.

I can’t imagine life without Amlactin!.

Wow this stuff. wow wow wow. Not many skin lotions on the market blow me away, but this one does. My skin loves this stuff. and when I use it, it my skin smooths out and becomes more even. The little bumps on my legs from ingrown hairs completely disappear and my arms look more even-toned with regular use.

It is gentle, so even my sensitive skin likes it. I always have this around. even on my desk at work.

Okay, I really wanted to love this product for my dry skin. I read review after review of y’all raving about this lotion. I recently moved from the very humid coastal southeast to the harshly dry midwest.

Therefore, I am currently experiencing my first midwest winter. My skin is not amused. In fact, my skin is angry. My arms are dry, rough, and itchy. I thought maybe I was having an eczema flare-up but alas, it is just my skin’s reaction to a midwest January.

I bit the bullet and paid for the Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Hydrating Body Lotion with Squalane. Now don’t get me wrong, I normally LOVE all of Kiehl’s products. And I don’t necessarily hate this lotion.

but it isn’t “knocking it out the park” for me. After applying this lotion, I feel greasy for hours. I rub, rub, rub, as much as I can and I still feel greasy. not the best feeling in the world. Also, it didn’t really do much for my extremely dry skin.

Compared to a lotion you can buy at any drugstore, I am disappointed. I guess a high price tag doesn’t always mean better quality. Overall, I will continue using this lotion but I will not purchase another bottle when I run out.

There are cheaper options out there that will yield better results.

In past reviews, I’ve shared my struggle with eczema. I tried using this lotion in high school, and liked it a lot, but I think I was too young to understand how exactly it should be applied. I would wait until I was fully dry and then apply, feeling like the lotion would just sit on my skin.

Older me is a NUT behind this lotion. 😂 It’s done such a great job and improving my skin and pesky areas of eczema. My skin is soft, glowing, and stays moisturized throughout the day. The ingredient that stands out the most is shea butter, which you’ll distinctly smell.

I sometimes use it to help enhance a scent I may be wearing for the day. I love its reusable packing, which allows me to pour it into my mini Kiehl’s dispensers that I received as a gift. I truly don’t use any other lotion, except for my backup Jergens when I run out of this.

I have used Kiehl’s skincare products for many years and I will spend hundreds of dollars on creams, serums, and moisturizers for my face. I could never convince myself to spend as much on bodycare though.

Kiehl’s always has great sales. hold out for one and you will save $$. I now buy the 1L refill which saves even more and also uses less plastic than the pump.
