20 Best Loose Fitting Mens Jeans (2023 Updated)

My husband likes them very much. They fit right and the fabric looks like regular jeans not just work jeans. He decided to keep them for his going out jeans. The other heavier different colored ones he wears to work.

Those are great too. Thank you for a durable product that stains and dirt wash out good.

As a Senior Citizen, nothing fits like it did at one time. It took a long time for my old jeans to finally wear out. Based on my experience with the brand I decided to order on-line and was not disappointed.

Wore them a week before washing, not shrinkage, fit like new. Only time will tell about durability.

-First, I’m 6’2″, 200lbs, semi-athletic build (I ride bikes and hunt a lot). I wear 36/32. -Second, I’ve been buying Carhartt “loose” fitting shorts, pants, and jeans for over 20yrs. -Third, phone sizes, whether we like it or not, aren’t getting any smaller.

Carhartt should keep up with that. -Since the number of loose fit items seem to be dwindling I was glad to see these were available. I bought one of each color, both look nice, and both fit my wallet, truck keys, pocket knife, and iphone 12 mini nicely.

-We’ll see on the durability, I expect they’ll last a few years. -Lastly, the darker pair was HUGE around my waist, the lighter pair was true to size. However, the size seems to vary from one pair of Carhartts to the next.

My B151s are tight, my B147s are variable. Sure would be nice to have some size consistency within a fit.

awesome pair of work pants slim profile pockets yet big enough to hold tools and utilities. Most work pants run a high price for low quality materials and cheap stitching methods they also like to add Corny accessories/utility items like hammer slings and tape measure “proof” pockets Yet they use cheap materials and in the real world they hold no practical USE! its just a marketing strategy, rather than a practical application for my work pant that I can actually use on the job site.

Not here! these pants are great and come at a great price tough materials and well stitched with proper stitching methods the hammer sling actually fits a hammer and the accessory pockets are fully equipped to lend a hand on the roof or wherever your working.

These are 4th and 5th pairs of these jeans I’ve ordered. I wear them each 2 times a week and get about a year and a half before they start showing wear. Always carry a razor knife on a clip on my pocket and it takes a while before it starts to break down.

Best part is being able to get a 35″ inseam for use with my boots. If only a 35″ waist was available would be perfect. Also, one of the only carpenter type jeans that fit my cell phone in the utility pocket.

The jeans received were not carpenter jeans. Didn’t look anything like the picture. Fit was tight. Material was bulky. Nothing like dungarees

The best work pants I have ever owned. I had no idea that Carhartt no longer makes the B159. The 159’s last for years, which is why I was just getting around to ordering some new ones. Someone at Carhartt made a terrible decision.

I was told by customer service that the 159 was “upgraded” to the B151. I just bought a pair of 151’s. In my opinion, the 151’s are a DOWNGRADE. Bad call Carhartt!.

Exactly what I was looking for; comfort, good fit, looks good and appears to be high quality and durable (only started wearing it recently. ) The problem with most all of Carhartt’s pants products is finding the right fit! They are VERY inconsistent; the same measurements on one pair is too tight/too loose or too long/too short.

(Online I received two pairs with the same inseam size which varied by over 2 inches!). Had to go to the store and try on MANY pairs to find the right fit. But, after doing so, I’m VERY pleased with my purchase.

I highly recommend Carhartt, but online is a REAL challenge (gotta’ go to the store). BTW, the people working at the store were VERY helpful.

I purchased a pair of these pants. I was worried that they would be too baggy , as I’m slim. After wearing them a few times, I found that I absolutely LOVE the extra room in the seat and legs. They have quickly become my favorites.

I then purchased each color, in fact, I have more than one pair in my favorite colors. I also really like the feel of the thick duck fabric. Actually, I’ve taken such a liking to Carhartt clothing, that I have also recently purchased shirts, jackets, and pants.

Great style and even greater functionality. Gotta love Carhartt!.

I am involved in community stray animal care 365 nights a year. During the winter months, while we do not get as frigid as northern states do, windchill off the water at our location frequently is in the 20s, enough to be very uncomfortable without some type of warm clotihing.

While I have had great coverage wtih jackets and upper body wear, the jeans I prefer to use have been quite inadequate to keep my legs war. These Wrangler insulated denims seem to be a perfect balance.

The denim weight is heavy; these are not lightweight pants. The Dupont Thinsulate layer is finished with a fleece lining, allowing good mobility and bending while still keeping heat in and cold out. While I haven’t used them yet this season, they appear to be just what the doctor ordered to avoid having to see the doctor for pneumonia.

Very happy with this purchase and feel the price was quite fair for this product.

Pros: — fit perfectly, — very glad that these jeans, which have been around for a long time, are still available. They are my favorite of all men’s pants. Cons: — although these are the Rugged Wear jeans, the fabric seems thinner than the ones I’ve purchased in prior years.

Hopefully it’s just my imagination. Hopefully they will last as long. Time will tell. By the way, whatever happened to the triple-stitch jeans? — buying these online cost almost twice as much as when I bought them from Vanity Fair outlet in Centralia a few years ago.

I wish the Vanity Fair was still open or that the online price was lower. If so, I would buy more of these jeans.

A couple of issues with these jeans led me to return them. First, was they size. I ordered the right size for me, they were tagged the right size. Problem was they were about 4 inches to long. Second is the quality of the material.

Denim in general has become a very light weight fabric, but these were really lightweight to the point I doubt how well they would hold up. I, instead bought 2 pairs of the Redhead Relaxed fit jeans.

They fit properly, but again the material is fairly lightweight, but felt more durable than the wranglers.

The jeans have a nice fit however the material is so-so. After 2 months or wearing in the office the material does appear to be durable but, it does stretch out a fair amount (especially in the waste).

Additionally, the belt loops are a little flimsy and also stretch out – the belt loops would be better if they were twice as wide or thick. I would recommend going with the Big and Tall as it gives extra space in the inseam and seat.

I am 6’4, 250lbs (athletic build) and the 40W/36L fit well (could have probably gone with the 38W as the waste did stretch. I would like to see the pants in additional colours (grey, or khaki).

I need a loose fitting , high inseam, comfortable pair of jeans. I have ALS and and need assistance to dress me whole I’m lying down. I purposely bought this “loose fit” pair with 36″ waist (instead of my regular 34″) to make it as easy as possible to get on.

They fit smaller than my 34″ jeans. Very disappointed.

Nice jeans but way too stretchy, they would not stay on. Leg opening was better than the straight/tapered leg and thigh was okay. Purchased my regular size looking to get just a little flex in material, but way too much.

They need to make a jean with just a little stretch for comfort but able to stay on.

I ordered the Dark Wash and the Black in this jean. I got 2 of each. THE FIT DEPENDS ON THE COLOR!! The dark wash fit him great. 88% cotton 10% polyester 2% elastane. It has a smooth texture and fits very well with just the right amount of stretch.

The black however is NOTHING like that! My husband and my 2 adult sons tried the black on and it was STIFF and they couldnt even squat in them. The fabric makeup is 99% cotton and 1% spandex. There is absolutely no FLEX in the black.

The 2 pairs are going back ASAP. I am not happy that the fabric makeup is totally different depending on color. Who does that??? I can’t stress enough how stiff and unyielding the black denim is! Be leary of the black but definitely try the dark wash.

I ordered these jeans online. A black and light wash. Size 29. I love that they are rigid and 100% cotton. However, when I tried them on, the fit was not the same. The black fit well while the light wash was bigger on the waist.

The length of the inseam of the black jeans was different too. The left leg was longer by an inch than the right leg. I love the material but I was disappointed by the size/labeling and inconsistent inseam.

This was the second pair of jeans that I purchased online and im not sure I will ever do it again. I wear a size 42 jean and most of them are tight. I ordered a size 44 and they were HUGE. I sent them back and ordered a 42.

Those were also very large on me. So I ordered a total of 4 jeans from Buckle online store and all of them were different sizes and lengths. The return process for online purchases was frustrating. It took nearly a month to get my funds returned.

I could not afford to return another pair of jeans and wait for the funds to hit my account. Over all the purchasing/return process is a nightmare if you are expecting a timely turnaround. Also, the sizing is all over the place.

The color not even close to the color pictured, they are WAY darker. All in all, I’m really disappointed. I have four pair to return – they must’ve altered the cut because all four pair are the same.

The leg openings are about 1 to 1. 5 inches bigger than advertised, and they are straight not tapered. Also, they’re considerably baggier now(they are looser everywhere). I have five older pair already, and the news ones fit like a totally different cut.

The buckle always does this with the BKE jeans.

In this day and age, jeans are all over the place from way to big to skin tight ones. These carters are a perfect blend for me. They are lower rise so I don’t feel Like my crotch is too low or the waist at my belly button either.

The thighs area is snug enough to look and feel good and the knee down is just the right amount of tapper to look natural and balanced. Just a great Jean. The little stretch makes them super comfortable to wear all the time too.

For reference, I’m 38 yr old male, 5’10” 145 lbs. I where the 29/32.

Seems these are the jeans I always loved. This style of Wrangler jean has always been my go-to jean. For me – WAY better than Levi, Lee, or other jeans. Loved the fit, feel, deep pockets, quality fabric, hardware, etc.

Then, I saw changes, as did a lot of other people according to reviews. Comments were that the material was lighter weight, back pockets smaller, front pockets shallower, watch pocket smaller, crotches tighter, waist fit lower to comply with new style trends, etc.

This concerned me to the point I started checking out local inventory, trying them on. Yes, it did seem they had changed them – a lot probably having to do with they were being manufactured in a lot of different places.

It appeared that what you ended up with depended on what country they were made in, probably what factory. So for 5 years I was afraid to buy these jeans. Finally, I decided if I made sure I only ordered the 96501DS, maybe they might have gone back to the old reliable standard great jean they were before.

Well – good news folks! The jeans I received had all the attributes of the old jeans. I’m extremely happy that I have my old jeans back!.

I’ve worn Wrangler relaxed fix jeans for over 25 years. I used to be able to walk into any store and buy a pair without needing to try them on. Sadly, at some point Wrangler changed the fit/design of these jeans.

The newer style has tighter thighs, narrow pockets, and the belt loops on the waistband are positioned very awkwardly and not proportionally across the front. I emailed Wrangler about this issue almost two years ago and customer service acknowledge the change.

I was told back then that they would be reverting to the original design in early 2021 due to the number of complaints. Unfortunately this did not happened. I still love my remaining pairs of the old 9760 wdr style, but this new design is terrible and uncomfortable.

I understand that companies don’t care about individual customers anymore, but Wrangler has lost me as one due to their lack of desire to produce a product that was comfortable as what they once did.

These are my favorite jeans for work in my lawn and landscape maintenance business, so you know they take a lot of wear and tear. I have been buying these same jeans every year, for many years, and really like them.

Good fit, a bit loose, which I like, and good durability, at a reasonable price. I was a bit concerned with my recent order though when I looked at the product picture and it looked like they reverted to the narrow coin/watch pocket of a couple years ago, which I did not like at all because it was so small it was difficult to put anything in or take out.

I keep my riding mower key in there. But when I received the jeans I was happy to see they still had the larger coin/watch pocket. Thank you, Wrangler! Please always keep it that way, as I plan on buying more again next year.

I purchased two pair of your work jeans years ago and have used them in all types of work. Mostly outdoor work including wood cutting, maple sap harvesting and processing. A good friend recommended your work jeans when I bought my first pairs, He is a contractor and puts them too the test, Only now, after washing and wearing over and over is a hole forming where material is getting thin.

I would strongly recommend your product and the price is reasonable.

Red kap has fairly good quality material for the price. Inseam options are great as some people like me prefer shorter inseams. They were all out of slimmer styles so I settle for relaxed fit. Although they were good quality they leggings were too baggy for my preference, I could see someone with longer legs and likes bagger leggings like the relaxed fit.

Overall comfortable fit, durable material.

My husband loves these pants for work. The quality and fit are the best he has ever had and will only wear these pants. He is a farmer and is very hard on jeans, but these are extremely durable. I buy these in bulk so that he always has “nice going out pants” and once they begin to fade (which is after many washes), they become work pants.

My husband has been wearing Wrngler jeans all his life. He loves the comfort and the slightly loose fit which allows freedom of movement as he is active. My hubby loves them!

Fit is all over the place on these jeans. Same brand, same size, but cut was wrong so they didn’t fit.

I am a senior citizen and definitely not a male model. For MANY years I have worn jeans 99% of the time for work, casual and most dress. They are the only pants that have consistently stood up to my work and recreational activities.

I have tried expensive canvas styles and many blue jeans. Canvas stains and frays. Lots of jeans are stiff until they fade so much the look awful. Found the flex relaxed jeans and tried them by chance.

Super comfortable, hold their color well, and are very sturdy. Ordered 5 pair-all fit, are comfortable, and consistent.

I really prefer 100% cotton for flame resistance. They didn’t call out that “Flex” meant “Stretch” and “Not 100% Cotton” or x% polyester. They also shipped from a warehouse or something and the smelled bad, like pesticides or something.

I had to wash them immediately. Other than that fine. Next time I’ll be sure to get the 100% cotton I really want. They are comfortable, but I need natural fiber for the flame retardant “feature. “.

Ordered 40 waist X 28 legs. Tags inside said 40 X 28. Waist ok, legs varied from 29 to 31. Should have sent them back. Took them to a seamstress to have them shortened. She had a hard time removing the hems and finding out the cuffs were crooked and had to straighten them out.

Cost me an extra $80. 00 to have the 4 pair shortened. Seller should verify leg lenghts before shipping since the tags are incorrect.

Reading the reviews others have posted, I can confirm similar experiences – the sizing is “loose & long”. I have two pair of these jeans now – my first pair I ordered 2 inches shorter than normal inseam, my 2nd pair I ordered at my “normal” 32 inches, wondering if the length issues were a fluke.

Ordering a normal waist and 2 inches shorter seems to be the right combination for me. The pair at normal inseam of 32 inches is definitely too long. I am very pleased with the flexibility and comfort of the jeans – however, i am extremely disappointed in the zipper quality.

My first purchase – even though i have had the jeans for < 1 year, I suffered the most embarrassing failure of the zipper coming apart in the middle of an airport preparing to board an outbound flight.

The jeans are now useless – and I am dreading wearing the 2nd pair publicly in case the same thing happens. When I attempt to see if i can return the defective pair, it tells me “We don’t seem to recognize that order number”, which is plain to see in my order history.

I cannot recommend anyone buying these expensive jeans, based on this very poor zipper quality, an un-repairable outcome, and less than 12 months of value with no remedy. I expect my Duluth purchases to wear well and last many years.

I have always worn “relaxed” fit jeans and had no issues with them. I have bigger thighs and calves and normal fit are not usually comfortable, and slim fit would pretty much be impossible. These are the most relaxed “relaxed” fit jeans I have ever tried on.

They are so loose they are sloppy looking. I went to my local store and the employee said this is a common comment that they hear and suggested I try the regular fit. The regular fit was significantly better and not as sloppy looking, but the store was having trouble getting regular fit in stock.

To give you an idea of how big the legs are in the “relaxed” fit cut, I was able to wear a pair of running tights and a pair of sweat pants under the jeans and no one could tell I had the additional layers on.

Turning lemons to lemonade, I intend to keep the one pair I bought and make my own “lined” jeans using the previously mentioned sweat pants. As far as the look and quality they seem far superior to other brands I have worn (Lucky, a brand that starts with a W that the website won’t let me type, Gap).

My only complaint is how they are so much larger cut than any other “relaxed” fit jeans I have ever worn. You might want to try on the regular fit, before buying these to avoid a potential return or buyers remorse.

I forgot how good relaxed fit feels. This is the fit Duluth excels at. They sit above the waist, did not have to adjust them once during a workday. I like the way they drape down your legs, to me it looks polished.

The roomy fit gives me the space I need to work and doesn’t pinch when I’m moving vertical. These are also 100% cotton. I would recommend this Jean if you’ve never tried Relaxed fit before, you might want to switch over like me.

They’re a great value. I do have to say though, these are different from the Ballroom Jeans I purchased a while back. Unfortunately, it seems the inseams were a little inconsistent back then so I never wear them but I still have them.

A direct comparison, the original Jeans were thicker and felt like higher quality. Which brings me to my only real complaint, the new Ballroom jeans are pre-washed. And if you look closely at the material, you can tell they didn’t do a spectacular job.

Is it nit-picky? Yes. Are the old Ballroom jeans better? As others have pointed out, yes. Do I still think these are the best jeans in Duluth’s lineup? Absolutely, highly recommend.

I have several pairs of these jeans both in dark blue and black. Very comfortable and perfect for casual or more dressy wear. I have 32 length for wear with boots and 30 length for wear with low heel casual or dressy shoes.

There is a bit of length shrinkage if you dry them in a dryer, so stretch them a bit while they are still wet. Color stays very good and fit is great. Highly recommend.

This is the 4th pair of Urban Star Jeans that I have purchased. The first thing that you will notice when you put them on is how comfortable they are. I can wear them all day with ease. They also are very stylish.

The darker colors, especially dark blue are a bit on the classier side, and the medium blue offers a more rugged look. They wash well and they don’t wear out very easily. Not only does the fabric hold up, but it takes many, many washings before any fading is noticeable.

All things considered, Urban Star is a tremendous value.

These are great jeans! Just be sure to order a waist size smaller than what you normally wear. Im usually a 36, had to order 34s and they fit great!

In the past, I had bought a pair of Denizen Athletic Fit jeans for my husband and the fit was really great. I felt confident ordering online once again, since the first pair had worked out so well. Unfortunately, the Relaxed Style are not only much larger and looser in the legs, but also in the waist as well, even though the sizes were identical.

They also fit strangely in the behind in a way I can only describe as “thin, rectangle butt” that was atypical. I returned them in-store and tried out the Skinny Fit style instead. They were tighter than the Athletic Fit, as expected, but much closer in sizing and comfort.

If you or your husband are on the taller, more slender side, I’d recommend possibly skipping the Denizen Relaxed Fit style.

These seem like nice jeans, but the sizing is WAY off. I purchased these online so I wasn’t able to try them on first, but I wear 32/30 in regular Levi relaxed-fit jeans so that’s what I purchased. These are huge in comparison, and I just started a return so I can instead get them in 30/30- hopefully those actually fit.

We’ll see. I’ll update my review after getting the smaller pair. I think the stretch in these is what makes them feel so much larger, I dunno. Just keep that in mind if you’re buying these blind (online) and can’t try them on first.

About two years ago, I bought several pairs for my son which fit well and he loved. He got the Marine color which then was 99% cotton and 1% elastane. After less about a year of regular use, like wearing around the house, eating out, taking leisurely walks in subdivision, one pair developed holes in the crotch on both sides of the center seam.

Also, a hole looked like it was starting to develop on a bottom corner of the back pocket in which he carried his Swiss Army knife.

one of the best H&M buys for me definetely. the fit, the price, the look; everything about this jeans is just so perfect. although, the colour of jeans in real is more lighter than what’s shown in the pictures.

Perfect fit in waist, loose and comfortable through legs and perfect mid raise. Pockets though seemed smaller compared to other branded jeans. Quality was reasonable.

Bought these for my husband, and in the past two months he’s been wearing and washing them, they’ve shrunk a full size. When he first tried them on, they were loose and comfortable (how he prefers his jeans) and even a tad long.

They’re now super tight, and even on the verge of being too short. Another wash or two and he likely won’t be able to wear them anymore. So disappointed. He loved the look and style of them when they first arrived, they’re quite sharp looking for jeans.

Can’t believe how bad they turned out to be, and even worse, the money we wasted on them.

I kept thinking these jeans looked too short on my son. I thought maybe he had just grown again, but his other jeans were long enough. When I was doing his laundry, I held these up to another pair of the same size.

These were MUCH shorter! So I got out the tape measure. Supposed to be 34″ inseam, but they are only 31″!!! I wish I had noticed when we first got them in the mail. Too late to return now.

Y’know, you folks use a whole bunch of words to say a simple thing. These are jeans, just loose enough for you to actually move in without pinchin’ the sensitive bits. I prefer the non- stretch, that way I’m not spending a bunch of time ‘ hiking trou’ to get them back in place- that’s truly a move that doesn’t look good on anyone.

These Carhartt denim Loose fit/Dungaree jeans are the best jeans you can buy. I wish you would bring back the Signature denim version, but these are close. They are the only jeans that still fit me right in the thigh and crotch area after several washes.

So called “relaxed”, “gusset crotch” or “ballroom” jeans never fit right especially after several washes. I also hate other company’s stretch jeans. These Carhartts have nice big brass zippers and the correct number of belt loops.

My big cell phone fits easily in the side pockets. Ditto for the Loose fit/Dungaree Duck Utility Pants. Levi’s/Dockers hasn’t made any Loose fit pants since the late 1990s. I have worn Carhartt for about 20 years and will continue to do so.

They are very thin and the crotch hangs down a couple of inch below where the older kind did. I can’t wear them. They are cheaply made with very thin material (11 oz. verses 15 oz. in the older ones) and even if I could wear them, they wouldn’t last no time.

I’m very disappointed as I have been wearing these pants for several years without any problems, but I guess saving a dime on material is more important than making good quality clothing. I also tried what the store said was the replacement for the good pants that you quit making.

They were Flex fit and I swear they were womens pants. Even my wife took 1 look at them and said “What are you doing wearing women’s pants”. They are terrible. So now I have 10 pair of Carhartt pants that I can’t wear.

I have them in the top of my closet but can’t wear them at all. I am currently looking for another brand to buy.

Well now that I see that Carhartt is discontinuing this style of jeans it would explain the inconsistency in their sizing. I bought some of these in a local store that were slightly short, so I ordered the next size longer and they are way to long in both the legs and the crotch.

The next time I ordered the same thing as I bought at the store and they are even shorter than the ones from the store. I think Carhartt must have given up on quality control when they decided to discontinue these so they just ship whatever and hope it doesn’t come back.

On a brighter not though Duluth Trading seems to have great quality control, I have ordered 4 different styles of pants in the same size and fit and they consistently fit great. No more Carhartt jeans.

I ordered online and ended up returning them. They are cut weird, nothing like my other loose fit jeans. I don’t like nut hugger jeans. Not very comfortable. I always rock old navy but these were a bust.

I really couldn’t believe that I found a 2fer on a clothing website. But Old Navy had it and the product is excellent. The pant fit my nephew very well and the quality is great. With the economy being what it is, it’s Great to find an actual great deal!.

I needed a new pair of jeans and had purchased a different style Cremieux pair years ago. I liked it so tried another. Very comfortable. They fit me well and the stated size is true. They are well made.

The pair I bought years ago is still in good condition. I’ve had the same results with Cremieux shirts in the past. I would have bought more than one pair if they’d had other colors I could use in my size.

Very comfortable pair of jeans. They are not not heavy duty or stiff like other brands. I have this style in 5 different colors. Will purchase more if new colors are made.

Listen, I was looking for the perfect light washed pair of jeans, you know. for the wet insta skate clips. I was skeptical at first, but let me tell you these pants were worth every penny. ASOS DESIGN never disappoints with their baggy jeans! I have about 4 pairs now and absolutely love them. I hope in the future they come out with different colors and possibly ripped ones. I will say though that depending on how you like your jeans to fit, you might have to size differently.

I’m a 32/34 and mine always fit me like high rise/boyfriend jeans, which I personally like.
