10 Best Lithium Trolling Motor Battery For The Money (2023 Updated)

We purchased two 200AH Bluetooth Lithium batteries. The batteries are hooked up to our system and work fine. they are batteries. Two things that could see improvement: 1) The app (Renogy BT) that connects to the battery via bluetooth is borderline unusable.

Sometimes only one battery shows up in the app to connect to, other times both show up. After selecting the battery to connect (assuming it shows up on the app), the information displayed is all zeros.

So if you’re fortunate enough to get a bluetooth connection to the battery, no info is actually being transferred from the battery to the app. 2) We are using a Victron Solar Charger and there are several parameters that are user adjustable in order to make solar charging as efficient as possible for a particular brand/make of battery.

i. e. Absorption Voltage, Float Voltage, Equalization Voltage, Re-Bulk Voltage offset. none of which I knew about before purchasing these batteries. Had I known, I would have purchased from a supplier that publishes such information.

After scowering their website and manuals with no luck, I eventually did get some of this info from Renogy after many attempts via email. At any rate, we are happy with the batteries, with the exceptions listed above.

I ordered it online direct from Renogy, I received the next day, The only thing I distinctly remember is the shipping weight was in Kilograms should have been in pounds like 60. 2 lbs. As soon it arrived, upon opening the box, I was struck by the sense of hygiene it was packaged with.

I charged it up using the CTEK Lithium Battery Charger (56-926), The CTEK is pretty much a trickle charger and never had been tested with this large of a battery, it had only been tested with a 120ah, the batteries Bluetooth processor seemed to know all about it, it told me exactly how long of a process it was going to be 27.

6 hours to charge. Very Exact. It got to 99. 1% SOC. All the directions in the manual were very straight forward. I used dielectric grease on all the contact points. It is a “Grand” product I look forward to using every day from now on.

Battery is incomparable with it’s features. BMS with low-temp charge cut-off, screw off lid with easy access for replacing cells and bms and an attractive and durable metal case. I purchased 3 of these SOK 12 v 100 ah batteries to run a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter at our family cabin.

I ordered my first 2 batteries in February and was pleased with Shop Solar’s customer service team as they generated frequent emails with updates on shipment. Keep up the great work!.

Not only is the battery outperforming expectations, but the customer service and communications regarding shipping is also exceeding expectations. Wonderful to see a small business that is really worth it.

Would buy more stuff if needed, but our boondocking requirements are minimal. The Dometic fridge doesn’t phase the SOK. Don’t hesitate to do business with these folks! Guy and Cheri.

Solid performer at 100Ah. I am using it as a backup. With a good PSW inverter and a transfer-switch, the setup is much better than off-the-shelf UPS systems. I also like the strong screw type connections.

A suggestion for improvement would be to add a suitable power switch and a voltmeter on the battery casing.

Trying to find replacement B. B. Battery HR9-12 which I cousin;t din at a reasonable price, I found these PowerMax 12V 9 Ah “replacements”. I crossed my fingers, bought a pair, and replaced the batteries from a 10+ y/o GeekSquad (i.

e. CyberPower-rebranded) 1500 UPS I had in storage and needed new Batteries. The UPS recognized these PowerStars as its original “B. B. Battery HR9-12” batteries and began working as it did the purchases at BestBuy 10+ years ago; supporting 2019 equipment.

No Frankenstein here, the UPS with these PowerStars works and behaves as new.

It went well of using the battery case and putting the replacement in the case. We then charged overnight and put it in the tractor and it ran. So far I can’t give a detail of how long it will last or anything of that nature because my grandson has not been able to ride it very long to this point.

The gentleman and Lady who got in touch with me and gave me the directions on installing was of great help to me. My husband who passed away normally done that kind of stuff so my daughter and I did it and it was very easy to get done and we appreciate their help more than they know.

The batteries arrived quickly well packaged and new as claimed. They fit my APC UPS fine and had a small initial charge. However my UPS has gone bad so I’ll have to find another one to use these in. They did power it up fine but it refused to charge them and stays on battery power.

Not the batteries fault. I will eventually repair or replace it and happily use these batteries.

I use this as a starting battery for a 1979 150hp outboard boat motor. This application requires a strong power delivery to crank and start from cold. If the battery is even the slightest bit weak, it won’t crank fast enough to cold start this old motor.

This battery has exceeded my expectations and never let me down at the boat ramp. It was well worth the price for the piece of mind. With my old battery, I had to make sure I had it on the charger overnight before going out.

This battery is always ready-to-go with no need to have it on the overnight charger. I like the maintenance-free design so I don’t have to top it off every season. I expect that the AGM composition will allow it to have a longer life in a shock/vibration prone marine application than a standard flooded battery.

I havent had the opportunity to use them for very long on the lake yet. But. they have worked great on the short trips. These are longer than regular optima batteries and more narrow. I can almost fit both batteries in one compartment on my 2002 crestliner.

I think with a little adjustments I can make it work. These do not fit in normal battery trays, just be aware. I have always used optima batteries, in my trucks, cars, and boats. Great batteries all around.

I ordered this battery online and had it shipped to my home. The battery was poorly packaged and loose in between the packing in the box. The battery was less than 80% charged. I had to take it to the local store to have them check it on their tester before I put it on my boat.

Exactly the kind of inconvenience I was trying to avoid. The entire process did not meet expectations. I will see how the battery performs, I might recommend the battery but based on this experience I would not recommend the online order process.

Well worth the wait. The 206 ah battery will probably be more than I need for the next 10 or more years. It has been great so far. Couple of K-cups each morning, frozen meat and cold beer in the fridge, fans and lights and charging all my misc.

I did message the seller and request that I receive newly manufactured batteries, no reply.

IšverstiShow in original languageI researched this for months as there isn’t great material on Lithium batteries as replacement for traditional lead style. I was running 3 lead batteries 100ah for Minn Kota 112.

I wanted to reduce weight and after months of research I took leap of faith with drop to 60ah batteries for less weight and expense. I also ended up purchasing new charging station called Noco Genius Genpro 10×3.

The install was simple and works identical to old lead battery style. Batteries charge much quicker than lead style, probably takes 3 hours for full charge, another large difference is that lithium batteries deliver max power until they die versus lead which begin losing power right away.

I was able to remove over 100 pounds of weight from my boat with the switch and my last boating trip I decided to run trolling motor hard all day to see what it would take to kill them. After 6 hours of trolling cranks and lindy rigs the batteries died and I went in to recharge them for another run later that evening.

On a prior trip I used them extensively for anchor lock and was not able to kill them after full day of use. Overall very happy with purchase and was nervous moving from 100ah to 60ah for my 36V system but happy with that decision as well.

IšverstiShow in original languagepurchased on 2/11 have used the battery 6 days. Great performance steady volts all day. Weighs less than 20 lbs. Runs a Minn Kota Rip Tide 45 for 8 hours, stop and go, and still showed over 12 volts.

Needs a Lithium Charger, and I purchased a NOCO Genius 5 amp. for $83. 00 and it recharges in about 6 hours to 13 volts. Care to not weed up your motor to a dead stop in weeds, as the battery can/will burn out a 30 amp fuse.

Carry extra fuses as a precaution. I fish heavy cover and grass mats and bury the motor often in a tangle of weeds. RipTide 45 and this grp 24 Tracker Lithium pulls my Gheenoe at over 4 mph on high in open water.

worth the expense if it lasts as advertised.

It is true. As a result power indicators showed full power until my trolling motor shut off in the deep water channel. One last note. 60 amp hours is 60 amp hours is whether it is, lead acid, agm or in this case lithium.
