20 Best Lithium Ion Battery Charger (2023 Updated)

Several reviewers complained it takes many hours or days to charge a dead battery. It will charge a dead battery but it’s designed intent is to maintain the battery. If you don’t drive your car, motorcycle or lawn tractor often this will keep the battery charged without over charging it.

The first time you use it it goes into standby mode and does nothing. You have to select the mode you need. Then it checks the battery and begins charging. If you have a newer computer controlled car there is something always running.

After a couple of weeks your battery will be dead. You need something like this.

I have several vehicles that I store each (Michigan) winter and have tried most if not all of the other “smart” chargers on the market. It has been frustrating to have batteries die while on those chargers, leaving me to question their advertised performance.

This time, a Delco battery in my Corvette, just barely out of warranty, was full green one day and blinking green (trying to charge) the next day before it got so low it would not allow the (electronic) doors, and therefore the hood, to open.

Eventually, using my 10 amp (non smart) charger the battery would take a charge, then fully discharge (even though out of the car) in about an hour. With a $150 battery replacement the only solution I thought I would try the Noco1.

It took about 2 days for the Noco to go from pulsing red (never indicated a battery fault) to pulsing green, and another 8 hrs to go to steady green. I then unhooked the battery, reinstalled it, and purposely left the charger off overnight.

The next morning the car was fully functional (electrically) and when I re hooked up the Noco it went from pulsing green to full green in about 2 hrs. 3 weeks later it sometimes pulses green but then goes full green shortly after, and stays fully charaged.

THIS PRODUCT WORKS AS ADVERTISED. (I then bought 3 more Noco1’s and a Noco10 replacing the “junk” I had been trusting).

2005 Ford F-150 battery was completely dead. The lights must have been left on and the truck had not even been attempted to start due to other problems related to the vehicle, for about 6 months. It took 5 days to charge it all the way to green but hey, it worked!!! On day 3 I thought there was no way it was gona work.

I even unplugged everything. For some reason, I hooked everything up again and 24 hours later it was green. If I needed the battery charged faster, this obviously wouldn’t have strong enough Amp power.

The truck was there for 6 months, what’s another 5 days?.

I don’t know how long this particular Charger has been available, but wish I had purchased it years ago. In maintaining my lawn, I have 5 Lithium 20 Volt Batteries I typically try to keep charged for use with my Weed Eater & Leaf Blower! The original Battery Charger that came with my Lithium 20V batteries required nearly TWO days of charging for all five which is nearly as often as I mowed grass! This required much planning as to what equipment I could use and for how long based on available CHARGED batteries! A REAL Pain in the Butt! I was NOT aware that anything different or better was available! Upon purchasing THIS NEW CHARGER which permits 12v-20V Charging, each Battery is charged in 15-20 minutes; NOT days; NOT hours!.

This charger is 5 times as fast as the charger that comes with most B&D products that use the 20V MAX lithium battery system. It is very difficult to find out the charging rate of that system, but with multiple online inquires and phone calls to B&D, I found out that the standard system is a 400 mA charger.

Thus a 2 AH battery would take 5 to 6 hours to charge with the standard charger, but could be charged in just over an hour with this FAST charger. If you are using your B&D product for a heavy duty application and need to swap batteries and do fast recharges, this product is the thing to get.

The main drawback is that it is a little bit expensive.

I have a battery operated weed eater from Black & Decker. I love it. It does a great job and is light weight. It came with 2 batteries. I bought an extra battery. When a battery runs out of power, I put it on the fast charger and before I use up the power on the other 2 batteries the one on the charger is ready to use.

I have had both my hips replaced and 4 back surgeries, so a light weed wacker is what I need.

I really have loved my Bauer cordless drill (the first non-plug-in drill I have owned). A couple of months ago I noticed the battery was dead, even though it had been recently charged. Attempts to recharge it were unsuccessful.

As a result, I had to buy a new battery, upon which I posted a review indicating my dissatisfaction with how long the original battery lasted. HF reached out to me as they were interested in determining the cause of the product failure, possibly the battery itself or the charger.

They offered a new battery and charger in exchange for returning the originals which they intend to analyze. I now have two new batteries for my drill and a new charger. In the process, hopefully I have helped HF develop longer lasting products in the future.

It charges the 5AH battery fairly quickly. The charger gets a little warm while charging, and eventually, I can smell plastic getting more than warm. I don’t leave the battery on the charger very long once charging is complete.

How long will it last? I dunno. I’ve only owned the charger for a couple of weeks and charged 5AH batteries 4 times. Over the last year, I have been buying more tools from Harbor freight. They do the job and last.

I don’t use the tools professionally. So far Bauer products are solid for this DIY mechanic, Landscaper, and handyman.

Charger does not fully charge the battery. It only shows two lights of charge on the battery that came with a impact tool so I bought a new battery Thursday. February 3, 2022. It did not fully charge and will not break the lugs on my pickup.

The red and green lights both flash and I do not see the diagnostic emblems as described on the front of the charger. I suppose I got a bad charger with the set; I cannot recommend this set to anyone I consider a friend.

No matter the price, if it does not work properly one has wasted money.

Great product, use it on a Gyro plane that has a Lithium battery. Keeps the battery up during Winter months when it’s not flying. On the third year with the same battery.

Worked well to fully charge up a Bike master Lithium battery. Only issue is it didn’t charge first as the battery was either fully discharged or in deep sleep mode. So I used a regular battery tender charger to wake up the battery, after 2 minutes, shifted to this and it worked.

Took about 2 hours to charge to about 80%.

I bought this to charge my 2021 KTM motocross bike battery. The stock battery doesn’t have a “battery management system” on it, so I was concerned about over charging. This charger did the trick for me.

Was a little displeased, I did not receive the product that i ordered, which was a RYOBI 40v lithium battery 4ah with charger that has USB port. The battery is a 40v A ah but the charger does not have the USB port, which is the reason for me to order this one to be identical to my the one I have.

So I’m a little DISAPPOINTED.

USB charging states 2.1A output, but it’s not achieving this. With the screen off my phone estimate 24 hours to charge. I’ve tried several cables, the USB is outputting milliamps of power.

the charger works as it should. EXCEPT if you fully discharge your battery. at that point, it will not recognise the battery and flashes the dreaded red/green instead of charging. i used an OP401A charger that i had to recover a minimal charge in my expended battery, and then the OP403 was able to take over and complete the charge.

i have not had an occasion to test the USB functionality, so i cannot verify nor deny this charger’s ability to pull power from a charged battery and send it to a USB-chargeable device.

I have (4) of these chargers wall mounted to a piece of 1×8. I use them for my larger batteries and haven’t had any trouble. *I have (3) others that go on the road with me. I had one fail a year ago but that’s the only DeWalt charger that I’ve had fail out of about 12 of them.

DCB101/ DCB102/ DCB107 (Lots)/ DCB112/ DCB115. *I also have (4) DCB107 units mounted on the same board. I use those to charge my 12-volts and my 20-volt 1. 5 & 2 AH batteries. No trouble with any of them.

Just leave about 1-inch in between each unit for air flow. Mine are wired directly to the wall outlets. No surge strips or splitters. *Click the battery in tight and they work great. (Seriously, why is that a thing.

Do people turn on light switches half way and I don’t know about it? Of course you need to click the battery in tight for the connections to make contact and for the battery to charge. ).

My Dewalt gear is 9 years old. The batteries have a higher amphour rating then my existing and they fit perfectly to all of my devices and existing battery charges. I appreciate companies like this who go out on a limb to provide a comparitive or supurioir product at a very affordable price.

I was having trouble figuring out what this charger was doing, it kept not charging batteries and using a solid red light to indicate that depleted batteries were full. Looked at the manual, but nothing helpful there.

Then I accidentally found a random YouTube video with 200k views (!) indicating that you have to be careful to fully click in a battery to get this thing to work. Used at least 4x competitor’s systems and never seen anything like this.

Just plain bad design, and the comment section of the video was riddled with folks thinking there was something up with the battery pack and working on RMAs and the like. A few people said they had contacted Dewalt but were brushed off.

Only one reasons this is One of the best Battery chargers. Take a NO Name battery and use it having no idea how long it will last or how many times you can recharge it. Put it in this charger and tell it to Grade the battery, it will first charge it up full, then totally discharge it and back again to record how many amps come out of the battery and in the process calculates how much internal resistance is created.

Most batteries out there claim 3,000 mah 150% higher than they can actually store and can only cycle (fully recharge) 20-30 times stating they can recharge 2,000 times. Name brand batteries can recharge 2,000 times and have nearly 3,000 mah, and this charger will tell you the lies or if its a waste of time to charge it up.

I bought this model to very fast charge the Fenix 21700 batteries which are very long (76mm) With the VC8 I quickly charge the battery of my Fenix PD 36 TAC, it has a 21700 battery (ARB-L21-5000U) with integrated charging chip, the charging speed is approximately 1.

3A while with this Xtar VC8 I can go to 2A or 3A To get to the speed of 3A you need a latest generation USB power supply but I’m using a 5-port Anker and with it I can only charge at 2A but that’s fine anyway.

The price of this VC8 charger is good, the USB-C cable is provided (length: 80 cm) I like it because I can select various charging currents including 250 mA which is useful for small batteries like AAA or 16340.

It says it does, but I put a battery in backward and now it does not work. I tested the wall wart and cable, still works fine, tried another and it works fine but the charger will no longer power on.

Oh well you get what you pay for. Wish the Gryfalcon was in stock, I got one 2 years ago and it has been great.

Just purchased the Ego single stage snow blower which comes with the dual charger. This is my third Ego battery product. The fact that you can charge both batteries at the same time only makes since due to the fact that the snow blower requies two batteries to operate.

Another great Ego product.

Better to get a single rapid charger. Too slow. I wish the snow blower came with a rapid charger instead as it is faster to charge each one separately than two at a time with the dual. Unfortunately, EGO did not give you a choice which one you wanted.

They should do that going forward.

It came with the Snow Blower, arriving just hours before a snow storm! Charged both batteries quickly. They powered the blower perfectly. Glad I have it. The Snow Blower is my 4th EGO product. Love them all.

I was given a 20v Worx weed eater by a family member but they no longer had the charger. So I needed one. The charger does it’s job. I just wished the weed eater did. Among many issues it drains the battery in less than 15 minutes.

Of course that particular battery is “obsolete” so not like I can get a replacement if it’s a bad battery. Everything going to Goodwill.

We love all of our Worx products! That being said we were disappointed with the charger that was included with our weed eater. The weed eater is the best I’ve ever owned! BUT, the charger does not work.

I’m not sure what can be done because the charger has been discontinued. I do have another Worx charger for our drill. So for the time being I can still weed eat my yard. I’m loving my wheel barrow. Such a versatile design! Still loving all my Worx tools.

My husband even bought a drill for my son-in-law for Christmas. Now he also loves Worx tools.

After I bought this extra charger to always have my batteries on hand, and not have to wait I could kick myself a long time ago. It’s made my life so much easier. I’m a woman of 58 and love doing yard work.

I find the edger is lite weight for me. I never regretted buying this item.

Wanted to use this for a couple weeks before reviewing. This thing is awesome. Charges several different levels and brands of batteries at once, and turns off when the charge cycle is comlete. Intellegently reads the battery level before charging to determine charge time.

Springs on batterys are stiff but that keeps them from moving and ensures a good connection. Car charger for when I travel. Could not ask for a better charger for the price. I wish it had a digital readout, but for this price thats asking too much.

Easy to use charging system for your reusable batteries. I use this with 18650 batteries for vape pens and it works like a charm. Quick charging and easy to read the charge of each battery as it chargers.

I don’t use the extras for the larger batteries that it came with since I just use AA for recharging. The car adapter was a nice addition since often my vape pen comes with me wherever I go and if I forget to charge batteries or they run out during a fun road trip now I am prepared for whatever life throws at me.

This is a great charger. I have several different types of batteries from AAA, AA to 18650 lithium batteries and this charges them all. The biggest plus for me about this charger is that you can charge odd numbers of batteries or even a single battery.

Most chargers won’t do this. I have some items that only take 3 batteries and it was a pain trying to charge them before. Just be sure to read the instructions carefully before charging a single battery.

I have a blower and weed wacker that uses the Hart 40 Volt battery. The battery is a work horse and lasts a long time. I have only had my set one season. What I noticed was it took a while to recharge the battery since it lasts so long.

My yard is big and even though it lasts a long time the battery may die a few minutes early. I drained the battery today and charged it with this fast battery charger. It took an hour or maybe more. I wanted to time it but I got interrupted which is typical in any household.

It did charge a LOT faster then the charger that came with the set. One thing I was surprised at was there is a blower on this charger. It must get a bit warm so the blower is there to keep things cooler.

Not a problem. It is just the first time I have seen a blower on a battery charger. Maybe it will keep the battery and the charger functioning longer? I just got this charger. I can say it is a great little item and will be welcome when spring arrives.

I have a few HART batteries from products I’ve purchased in the past, But as I bought them in a set from a third party, I Only had one charger for three batteries. I’m not able to get out and do the yards and the like when I’d prefer to, as such a friend usually stops by to help me with them.

This uses two batteries up at the same time, and often leaves one person sitting on their hands when the two inevitably run out of battery power. With this, When the two run out of power, we can hook one of the batteries up to this charger and take a break for a little, drink, snack, what have you, and both get back to working much faster than if we waited on the battery charger i got with the products originally.

This thing charges incredibly fast in comparison and lets me do more work in the long run without needing to stop and wait, stop and wait, every time i need a fresh battery.

I love it. Chargers quick and keeps three different brands of batteries charged in rotation with no problems whatsoever. I use Molicel 18650 p28 35a batteries and one Samsung 18650 30q battery for a Voopoo Argus X vape and a Voopoo Drag X Plus Vape and I use the charger for Imren 18650 25rs batteries that I use in a flashlight cuz honestly Imren batteries are trash besides for a flashlight but even then they get hot after awhile so I would suggest stay away from wack *** Imren but Molicel p28 35a are my favorite batteries and stay charged for like ever.

This charger is a nice step up from the previous Nitecore i2 charger that has served me for a decade. Some notable features include dt/dv charging for Alkaline batteries. This allows the standard AA, AAA batteries to be fully charged instead of stoping at immediately at the peak voltage.

The screen is nice and helps with giving a view on the health of the batteries such as making sure they are being drained equally and not being drained too much (Li-ion). D(4) has four charging slots and will divide 1500 mAh charge between how many are being used.

2 slots used = 750 mAh per cell and so on. It will automatically pick the correct charging method but I noticed bad Alkaline cells will make it choose the wrong one ( no safety issues, just a good indicator that your cell is going/gone bad).

Ordered 2 new 18650 batteries for my HC60 headlamp and a new intellicharger. The USPS package was torn open, but everything that was ordered was there. I have been satisfied with Nitecore products, as an aircraft mechanic I put the headlamps through the wringer, wearing it almost 10hrs a day.

I have to buy new batteries about every 1. 5 yrs. They hold up well and are much more affordable than the competition. Would highly recommend for professional use!.

I bought this last year after my on board charger went out on my boat. The great thing about this unit is, set it and forget it! I have three batteries on my boat, one for starting and 2 deep cycle batteries for my trolling motor.

The small size of this unit along with it’s ability to recognize different technologies (I have an AGM starting battery and regular sealed lead acid trolling batteries) makes it ideal for me to just plug it in when I get home from fishing knowing that the batteries will be ready to go next time.

One bank would work, the other would not. The bank that worked did exactly what it was supposed to do. Saw that the battery was charged and went into Maintenance mode. The bad bank made a noise and then just rotated through the lights.

I may give it another try, could just be bad luck on my part.

There not kidding when they say 3 to 5 hours for charging. It usually takes about 5 hours. I’m glad I have a backup battery.

I had been unable to charge my Echo batteries recently and wasnt sure if it was the charger or the batteries that were faulty. I decided Id try replacing the charger first. Brand new chargers can cost up to $100, so when I found this refurbished charger for a fraction of the cost it made sense to try the charger first.

That was the ticket! Now I can charge my two batteries!! So glad I found this item. It even looks new!.

I received the chain saw and battery with charger as a gift several years ago. Opportunity never arose, until recently, to use it. Battery is now defective. And as luck would have it, warranty just expired.

$329 to replace the battery? Braand new and nowhere to go.

Either charger or battery has some kind of malfunction. u check the battery first then plug it in the charger if it starts on anything other than what the battery indicated unplug. replug. sometimes it takes 3 time’s.

We saw this tool on a DIY video and it is perfect for our job. Purchased the tool, battery & charger. 1 battery was green out of the box (odd) and 2nd flashed red-green. returned batteries, got 2 new ones.

Exactly the same. Returned the charger and 2nd one was exactly the same. No idea if tool works or not as could not get a good battery. Returned everything! This stopped forward progress on a project till we can figure out how to get into a tight spot to loosen a years old tightened bolt.

Too bad. Looks like the right tool for the job but we’ll never know. Have to think twice about purchasing again. Or will sure have to see it work before we shell out any more of the big money they want for this tool.

I have just opened the second of two M12 2326-21XCH kits that I have purchased in the last two weeks. The first one was returned to Home Depot as the battery would not charge and the charger indicated alternating red/green flashing lights.

I have just plugged the second unit in and have the same result. I have purchased many Milwaukee corded tools and trusted them. I cannot, in all honesty, suggest anyone buy this kit or tool based on my experience.

I would very much like to hear from Milwaukee to see what the issue is and how I can get this unit repaired/replaced. Otherwise, I suppose I will have to return this one and pursue a different manufacturer.

This is a technology and product safety situation that depending on how the designers implemented the features. I don’t know what a solution might be; that’s up to the designers of the batteries. The Charger works OK (see below) but it also won’t charge 2500mAh 12V Replacement for Milwaukee M12 Battery.

From the construction I’d say that both batteries came from the same OEM supplier. Both were bought from Home Essentials Direct within the past month. The reason seems to be a charger safety feature to prevent trying to charge a bad battery.

More on that later. When plugged into the charger, nothing happens: No steady or flashing indicators With other equipment I use for my electronics hobby, these batteries have been discharged and charged many times.

That to condition them for maximum charge. I use a ZB2L3 discharge controller and a stand-alone Li-Ion/Li-Po charger. They have also been used and work OK in a Milwaukee M12 drill. So I’m confident they are good.

But they would not charge in the same type of charger that comes with the drill kit my In-Law has. The stand-alone charger I have won’t charge a bad battery either. Unless the Milwaukee charger circuits detect an acceptable voltage level, nothing happens.

The sensor uses the LED supply voltage from the 3 terminals to do this. If that voltage, tapped from the battery cells, isn’t within the required limits, charging won’t happen. Apparently, the batteries mentioned above do the 3 terminal arrangement differently than the batteries that do charge.

DON’T DO THIS AT HOME How do I know all this? By inserting a thin plastic strip to cover the 3 terminals, a partially discharged battery charged OK. All I’m able to measure is the voltage at the 3 terminals.

It seems to be OK relative to that needed to light LEDs. But. How would one know before hand? Home Essentials Direct? UPDATE: 22 Feb 2020 I’ve discovered the reason for my charging problem. My stand-alone charger charges to about 14.

2 V. The Milwaukee charger only to about 12. 6 V or 3 x the nominal 3S 18650 4. 2 V per cell full charge. Trying to charge a battery with more than 12. 6V volts on the terminals must look like a failure to the Milwaukee charger and it shuts down to prevent damage.

I’m still using my stand-along discharge controller and charger and making sure the end charge voltage in no higher than 12. 6 for both the 3S 2. 5A and 2x3S 6A battery packs.

I bought a Nitecore charger a couple years ago for my home, when I was at my cabin I kept thinking I should get another Nitecore charger for the cabin. Finally did i got one and it is used regularly.

It is a great, reliable charger, you can’t go wrong.

Nice battery charger. It charges batterys and thats about it. I do like the grips to keep it locked in place so it doesnt slide around. Nothing super fancy but does a great job!

Really good value compared to vape shops and their 50%Mark up or higher. Great packaging. Little box damage on a corner but product perfect. Will be buying again in future.

I’ve used this charger several times now, with mulitple sized batteries. Batteries insert easily, although I find the smaller they are, they sometimes want to walk off the positive terminal side and sometimes takes a couple tries to get them to stay put under the spring loaded terminals holder.

Larger batteries do not have this problem. The display options are awesome and I love to be able to cycle through the batteries charge cycle in terms of mA’s, time of charge or voltage. Each charging port has its own display.

The ability to charge 4 batteries at a time is always appreciated as I run some lights requiring 4 18650 batteries and is a pain to do them 2 at a time. Quality as always is excellent as I have been using these lights and chargers for going on 8 or 9 years and never dissapointed.

Fenix is my go to for all things needing light.

This is simple, I’ve been using Fenix Flashlights for a long time now. I personally have not had any real problems, only incredible reliability time and time again. I love the ruggedness of the flashlights and the Lithium Ion batteries are amazing, the charger is very quick here’s an interesting thing I’ve experienced with these Lithium batteries is Fenix said the could be charged for only 500 cycles.

I have made it through 1,100 times one will still charge up it take a bit longer the other has passed away after 4 years and more than doubled the time of its expected life. The batteries were for my Fenix TK 35UE Flashlight 18650 3500 mAh batteries.

I intended to use this charger in my car as well in my home. But Fenix no longer sells the 12 volt cable for connecting to the car. I thought this would not be difficult. I got the most common car power cable which has a 5.

5 mm barrel plug. But the Fenix charger does not use a 5. 5 mm connector. Not sure what it is. This is just annoying. The charger works fine, just gets pretty hot when charging four AA batteries. I measured 160 degrees on the charger bottom.

This charger will charge Lithium ion, NiMh and also charge the LiFePO4 batteries. This charger and the Nitecore D2 are two chargers that will properly charge ti LiFePO4 batteries. Other chargers that charge the regular Lithium ion batteries will over charge and damage them.

This charger will charge the regular 18650 batteries faster than most other chargers. An important thing about charging the NiMh batteries is that each battery needs to be charged in an individually controlled slot.

Most of the consumer chargers for the major US battery makers will only charge batteries in pairs which tends to destroy batteries by over charging the one of the batteries. If the batteries are not discharged the same amount those paired chargers will continue the charge after the less discharged battery is full and over charge and ruin it.

I ruined many batteries before I discovered this fact. A really good charger for NiMh batteries is the Opus BT-C2000 which will charge as well as test and recover some older batteries. It is best to know the capacities for your batteries as you should only use similar capacity batteries in devices which use more than a single battery.

The device will only work till the battery with the least capacity is drained completely. Many people do not like therechargable batteries because they use poor chargers and don’t keep the batteries updated.

They will pay too much for disposable Alkaline batteries when properly maintained Nimh batteries would save them a lot of money in the long run.

I was searching for this the Nitecore i2 battery charger, because it was recommended by some professional RDA vapers I have talked to. The only problem I was seeing locally in my town, is how much overcharge they were pricing this device.

I do feel this product is every bit worth what I paid for it, though I am also on a budget. I would recommend this charger to anyone who is searching for an easy to use and is a safer charger for 18650 batteries than many I have seen online.

This charger takes up to 2 hours to fully charge the batteries I use. This charger will not charge the batteries if they are placed incorrectly and it will quit sending any power to the batteries once it detects they are fully charged, which is a great safety net when you hear about others with batteries exploding from being over charged and over heating.

I also ordered this because this was also being sold with 2 LG HG2 3000mah 35A 18650 batteries. I only need 2 batteries for my mod I vape with and I don’t vape everyday, so this best suited me. The batteries and the charger both perform like a champ for my uses.

I use my charger along with the batteries for my Smoant Battlestar 200W temperature control mod along with my current Flawless Tugboat V3 RDA.

The only thing that concerns me is that smaller batteries can easily sit crooked making it possible for the positive charging poll touch the edge of the batteries at the same time. the edge is ground so make sure the battery isolating shrink wrap is in good condition.

other then that its ok. I liked my older one with LDC read out better.

At first I thought this was a very slow charger, but it was just that my new batteries have a much higher capacity than my old ones. It’s a very versatile charger. I did have to hunt around for a 2 Amp power adapter to get the most from this charger, but anyone with a small collection of electronic gadgets will probably have one lying around.

As far as chargers go it is simple yet effective. It charges up my 18650s to the top and doesn’t cut short the charge too early. It did cut the charge a little too early for my aa and aaa batteries but I can live with that.

The display is fine as well. Best Efest charger I’ve had and well worth the money.

Extremely useful, nice, and compact no need to change the setting for each type of battery you just put the batteries in and plug the charger into either the pc or USB mains adaptor, and the charger selects the appropriate type.
