20 Best Lipstick For Brown Skin (2023 Updated)

Oh this is such a pretty lipstick. Lovely packaging, lovely colour and consistency. You’d think with all the blessed mask wearing I would be drawn to ever more matt lipsticks but no. I’ve been longing for something moisturising and glossy for when the mask is off.

The shade I bought is ‘Love is On’, a beautiful red with blue undertones. A sister gloss version of ‘Chic Red’ my Holy Grail NYX lipstick, now sadly discontinued. It goes on like a dream, has lasted well now for five hours without touch up but I do anticipate having to reapply after I eat considering its consistency.

My suggestion with the flat tip is to, one, only roll up exactly what you need and, two, once applied roll it down back beneath the lip of the tube to protect the tip. It’s a girlie treat, enjoy!.

I love Revlon creme formula and matte formula in lustrous lipstick! Rose Velvet is my daytime go to shade! It’s comfortable and has great staying power! The package is great, I love that the top is clear so I can see the shade easily when grabbing it out of my lipstick tray! And the lid is easy to get off and snap back on! And at the $3-$5 price point you can’t go wrong! Revlon has a huge shade range too so I’m sure you’ll find a few shades you like! 💄💋😘.

Oh how I love this lipstick. The colour is just perfect – a deep, saturated pink that’s bright and cheery but still just muted enough to look perfectly at home on my face. I may be wrong, but I think the reason for this is because there’s no white base.

I’ve noticed that in lipsticks that look really jarring on my skin there’s usually an underlying chalkiness that indicates a white base (think MAC Candy Yum Yum and Lady Danger – amazing colours in the tube, utterly revolting on my face).

This is also a great face brightener – I reach for it whenever I look tired and a bit haggard and look instantly perkier. I took a lippie off for the texture – it’s not terrible, but it’s thinner and more slippy than I’d like.

I prefer a thicker, creamier texture in satin finish lipsticks. That’s a minor issue though, as this still has decent longevity and is non-drying. By the way, if you’re a redhead reading this, pay no attention to all the outdated beauty “rules” that say redheads shouldn’t wear bright pink because it’ll clash with our hair.

I get nothing but compliments when I wear this colour.

These are a winner for a Bobbi Brown lover. The twist up crayon design means it’s really easy to use to define and fill in your lips. The packaging is luxe but lightweight and includes a sharpener in the end.

It’s perfect for throwing in your bag or pocket and using on the go (when we’re finally allowed out)! I have the shade Red Illusion which is a universally flattering medium toned red with a brown undertone – good for a red lip lover or a red lip newbie (I’m a #redlipliberationfront member) On application it’s a highly pigmented, shiny, creamy formula that glides on very easily but it does set and mattes down so don’t blot it! It reminds me a lot of my favourite BB Luxe Intense Shine formula, it has the same stick to your lips feeling.

The shine can be blotted off that range but this gives a very comfortable creamy matte finish. Its not as drying as some find the BB Luxe Matte range and is much more smooth and comfortable on the lips.

I have found I get the same amount of wear from both. I received mine as a sample to review but I really will buy some more shades! A very nice addition to the BB Luxe range.

I was gifted this product so I should add I don’t usually wear lipsticks. I normally opt for the BB lip tint (pale pink) or BB oil infused gloss because I have thin lips and feel too much colour on them accentuates how thin they are.

That said, I’m trying to brave more use of lipstick so I’ve worn this for the past week. I have it in Romantic which is a neutral pink tone. It’s a lovely subtle colour, but I felt it went a slightly peachy colour on my lips.

It did have a creamy feel to it but after wearing it a while it sat in my lip creases which made my lips look a bit dry, so I ended up topping up with a gloss. I also preferred to use less of it to just add a bit of colour, rather than using more and defining my whole lip line.

The packaging I love! Love the thin design and genius having a sharpener a one end. Im not 100% sold on this product, but I think that’s more a personal choice because I’m usually shy of lipsticks, especially Matt ones.

If you love a lipstick though, I think this product is a hit. I did receive a few compliments whilst wearing it so I’ve not given up on it and I’d like to try it in the violet vision.

I love these lip crayons. They glide on effortlessly and without struggling at all it was so easy to apply and the colour pay off was instant. I have the shade Orchid Noir and I was a bit hesitant having seen it after on models on line and thought it would be too dark for me but honestly it’s a beautiful and perfect berry shade.

I really like. If you have a medium or deeper skin or even just warm skin tone this would be beautiful on you. Today I’m wearing it defining the lip line and dabbing it in (bb pro Amy Style)! It’s gorgeous.

The shape of the lipstick is perfect and so easy to use. Lined perfectly without the need to touch up. I highly recommend and can’t wait to try other shades. They all look beautiful.

I’m a matte makeup gal all the way due to issues with oily skin so naturally when I use matte products I’ll use the same type of lipstick. I prefer to use a lipstick versus glosses because I feel they tend to last longer and this one really surprised me.

The color is very nice for fall with hints of brown mixed with berry. This color looks beautiful on a dark shadow look as well. I have trouble with matte lipsticks smudging but this one didn’t do that at all.

I used a matching shade pencil before applying and it lasted all day. It glides on super easy and dries instantly leaving a nice even matte effect. Even after lunch it was still very noticeably on. I can’t wait to see what other shades are available.

Tried the Mattest Matte lipstick in the shade Nut-Ella. This color is a beautiful dark brown. Lipstick goes on smoothly and is a great matte color. If you are not familiar with matte it can be a bit drying.

Try exfoliating before putting on your lipstick. Can either add a moisturizer before or add a gloss after. I used mine just matte and it looks great. Very long lasting. Overall great lipstick.

This is definitely a matte lipstick. That being said it’s extremely difficult to put on because it’s hard to apply because of the matte texture. Even when I warm the side between my hands and try to apply it it was still very stiff and hard to put on.

I love the color though it’s a very nice natural brown color for a live however if I had to decide on whether not to purchase this product in the future I don’t know that I would because of how difficult it is to apply.

I do love the casing it is very sleek and very simple. And the overall wearability is nice to you as it stays on for a long period of time does not rub off. I would be hesitant to recommend this product just because the application is such a chore and I don’t want to wear something where it will be talking on my lips because it’s hard to apply.

While this brand is very affordable and has good products, I am rating the NYX Suede lipsticks stock in my local Walmart. I recommend checking the batch codes for freshness. Typical at many Walmarts, patrons open caps to see the actual colors (but they normally don’t touch the product).

They just look at the shade and replace the cap. Browsing for a new lipstick locally, I looked on several “new” intact bullet lipsticks from the NYX suede matte line. The lipstick product had visible white fuzzy patches on various parts of the lipstick surface.

It was not a big fluffy cotton ball type fuzz. It was definitely there and resembled when something is going bad in the early stages of mold growth. I highly recommend that you inspect in-store lipstick with a flashlight and check for freshness using the batch codes.

These products have a long shelf life, but due to a very humid climate, it could deteriorate faster than in drier climates.

I bought this in the blue raspberry. I love the texture of this lip color. It is very smooth with a bit of shine. It is not very long wearing, but a joy to reapply. Blue raspberry is a nude on me, but has no orange undertones which is great for my cool skin.

I would say it is a my lips but better shade, maybe just a bit darker. I would certainly buy again. Please don’t discontinue.

I absolutely loved the packaging when I opened the box, it’s absolutely luxurious and when I started applying on my mildly chapped lips they started to become hydrated and smooth with every swipe on my lips.

The main reason I am giving this 3 stars is that it’s not at all a cool color as depicted by the swatch and name. Once applied it has a hint of coral but as the day goes on tones down. Apart from the color this lipstick is so delicate that it can potentially break while applying, other than that it’s wonderful!.

It’s a moisturizing lipstick made w essential oils such as those from avocado, jojoba, and babassu. I was looking to replace a Makeup Forever lipstick I had received as a sample from Sephora. My search ended after I found out that the product was discontinued.

So I set out to find something somewhat similar and I found this lipstick. -Long-lasting considering that it is a lipstick (but not an all-day wear but still pretty long). -Moisturizes- hydrates! no cracked lip look (win!)-Gloss- I don’t tend to like glossy lipsticks but this makes your lips look so plump without the shiny mess -Buildable- you can use it as sheer or early pigmented as you’d like I wear this lipstick for both my makeup-no makeup days and on my nights out since I can wear it sheer or downright bold.

I have tried a lot of different matte lipsticks and, most of them dried my lips and the lipstick ended up cracking on my lips. This lipstick is different, it nourishes the lips, leaving them very smooth.

It also smells lovely (very delicate) and the colour lasts for ages. I also love the idea around Zao packaging (they use bamboo) and the refills. Simply brilliant.

Heard so much about the famed Pillow Talk series and decided to try out on a whim, their MEDIUM shade, as the reviews reveal that the Original Pillow Talk shade might be too pale/nude or non-existent on fair skinned people.

The MEDIUM shade is lovely when I wear my full make up on, but without any foundation, it makes my lips a little too brown for my liking. To circumvent this issue, I have to layer it with some mauvy lipgloss from Bobbi Brown to reduce its ”chocolateness” a tinge of old rose.

Speaking of chocolates, the Pillow Talk lipstick has a chocolatey fragrance. The only thing I don’t like it is that it doesn’t glide as smoothly as Bobbi Brown’s Luxe collection lippies. You need to moisturise your lips with a balm before applying this very matte Pillow Talk lipstick.

Its staying power is at most 4 hours for me, after 1 meal.

Before discovering Kim K. W. , I didn’t put nearly as much stock into the “perfect” lipstick as I do, say, foundation. Basically, if it was the right warm peachy-pinky-nude shade, I didn’t really care about the brand or the formula.

From Tom Ford to Wet N Wild, I applied them all. Charlotte Tilbury’s Kim K. W. is an absolute cut above EVERYTHING. The formula lasts without drying, and the shade is PERFECT. The most flattering, gorgeous nude that looks perfect whether the rest of my face is done up or not.

It’s instant polish. Even if this particular shade doesn’t suit your skintone, the other shades are worth trying just because the formula is so dang fabulous. In love!.

Love this shade in stoned rose. It goes on my lip as a coral orangy shade. If you are looking for a shade that’s not neutral or not to dark, this shade will be perfect for you. Great with or without a lipgloss.

I’m wearing this lipstick shade with pat McGrath lipgloss in the shade dare to bare. Goes on like butter and is very moisturizing. This color is great for an everyday look. Retails for 34$. Definitely does not have anything great to say for the price range of 34$ but that being said I couldn’t find any similar shade at the drugstore.

Definitiv Kaufempfehlung. Habe jetzt schon 3 verschiedene Farben und würde sie jederzeit nachkaufen.
