20 Best Lip Balm For Accutane (2023 Updated)

I’m a big fan of the EOS lip balms. It started with the sphere balms (my fave is in Sweet Mint) at first mainly because of the unique packaging but soon after because of the formula itself. Then I found out that EOS came out with lip balms in a twist up stick and in Vanilla Bean (I love Vanilla!), I knew I had to try it out.

I have generally very dry lips despite the humidity where I live and most lip balms tend to feel too slick or feels like the product just sits on my lips and then flakes off. This product however was exactly what I needed in a lip balm.

It glides on smooth, smells delish, hydrates and doesn’t flake. I still personally think the sphere packaging is cute but I’ll admit, this packaging is much more convenient and space saving for travelling or for having in my purse.

You can’t tell from the photo but it’s actually larger than most lip balms in the market with a wider application area.

I posted a picture of the after math from using eos. My entire mouth broke it like never before and my lip somehow got a fever blister/cold sore and this is after a week or so. Honestly I understand allergic reactions happen but when I was doing my research about why this happened they have several law suits against them for this exact thing.

I am just sharing for my people that have reactive/sensitive lips. DO NOT use this! It is also way over scented and never keep my lips moisturized. It’s one of those balms your lips get very addicted to because you are constantly re-applying.

Eos is also way overpriced, you can get way better quality lip balms for cheaper.

I’ve never used any item from this brand before but I am soooo pleased with this lip balm!! It’s everything I wanted. a formula that is not too thick and gooey, but also not too thin and watery. I got the unscented/original formula and it truly is unscented.

no icky taste either. It really solves my dry lips problem and with this balm I don’t have to apply it so many times during the day like other balms. Even my husband loves this balm and he is VERY picky! So am I, but he’s pickier! LOL I loved this balm so much that I purchased 5 more tubes.

I grabbed this up because it claims that it is peppermint, and I am always looking for the next best balm. This product does moisturize well, but I recommend that you put it on before sleep. It doesn’t fare well in the day, as it is super greasy and will travel far and wide, which can look a bit funny and also clog pores around your lips.

A little goes a long way, and you will wake up with lips that don’t feel dry. (I like to gently exfoliate my lips in the evening with a damp toothbrush or washcloth, and then apply my lip product before sleep.

) The peppermint flavor was hardly noticeable and there was a strange aftertaste, reminiscent of good ole vegetable oil. The formula is very slippery and will run all over. There is a lot in the tube, and you only need a bit, but I feel like there are so many better options out there that I wouldn’t purchase this again.

I love many Bedescu products, but I’ll stick with Carmex, Burt’s Bee’s peppermint, L’Occitane shea balm, or Rituals Miracle Rescue when it comes to lip care.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. I bought this back on July 8th, and today (August 12th), my lips are finally back to where they were before using this product. I used this product ONE time, and it dried my lips out so bad to the point that they cracked just opening my mouth to eat! The dryness/chappedness was so unreal, that I probably spent close to $100 on other chapsticks and lip scrubs just to get my lips to stop hurting.

I mean, the peeling was so bad from being chapped that I could peel off an entire layer of skin from my lips. The dryness was so bad that I could put another chapstick on, and not even 10 minutes later, I was putting more on.

I will NEVER buy this again, and if they were smart, they would stop making it and take it off the shelves. I will stick to Blistex Lip Infusions and Chapstick Total Hydration. So far, I haven’t found ANYTHING even close to the hydration these 2 give my lips.

Title is a semi-joke but relates entirely to the effectiveness of this product! I’ve used EOS lip balms for YEARS — probably since I was in middle school, if I really think about it. For a lip balm, they’ve been a go-to for some time so to see that there was a new lip-quenching product was exciting! Overall, I think the best thing about this is the tubing.

We all know and love the famed EOS-egg, however it’s elliptical design makes it bulky and hard to place. PLUS, you lose out on some product towards the end of the use simply due to design flaw! With a squeeze-tube (and great doe-foot applicator tip) that doesn’t happen! Even with the cylindrical tubes, the product would catch in the side of the cap or it would melt and smush inside the packaging.

Loved the product but hated how much it would wind up being damaged some way or another. Now, onto how it wears. The product is a clear, light scented gel that applies smooth and with a consistency comparable to a petroleum product like Vaseline.

The one-star removal is simply because although the product applies clear, when talking and eating, a white-ish film begins to form from the friction and it makes your lips look a little funky.

If your lips need a little extra lovin’ the EOS Lip Repair Extra Dry Lip Treatment might be your saving grace. This product has a clear glossy finish with a fruity scent (from the natural strawberry extract) that makes for a luxurious lip product at a budget-friendly cost.

The strawberry scent is added well so that it doesn’t overpower you or punch your nostrils with fragrance! It’s marketed to condition and protect severely dry lips so this would be great for the whenever there’s harsh winds, super cold, or when there’s less moisture in the air.

My lips felt super hydrated and soft after a few uses of this product and I like how it’s super small travel friendly. You can use it in the morning or evening without any worry. It all depends what your goal is at the end of the day.

Since this product focus more so on lip repair and hydration it doesn’t have any SPF properties. So if that’s what your looking for I would avoid morning use if you’re going out and wanted lip SPF protection.

But evenings or midday at home would be great! Also love how the EOS product is hypoallergenic, paraben phthalate-free and not tested on animals.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve tried almost every lip product out there. From super expensive to drugstore and in between. This is absolutely the winner for overnight wear. I’ve never found another product that is actually still there in the morning when I wake up.

With this stuff I can get a full night of sleep and still wake up feeling the product on my lips. The last thing I do before bed every night for the last 20 years is apply a lip treatment and this is the first time I’ve stopped waking up with dry flaky lips.

It’s healing and moisturising with a very thick texture. If you want a smoother feeling version for daytime wear under other products the stick version of this product is excellent.

I love this! It’s super thick and occlusive so I use it as a nighttime lip mask and it doesn’t an amazing job. I put a thick layer on at night and wake up with the softest lips. It’s thick enough that it stays on all night so you still have some on in the morning.

I wipe off what’s left and have the softest lips after! The ingredients are also great for the lips and really nourishing, but it’s the thick formula I love. I can always rely on this to keep my lips happy over night and especially during winter, that’s amazing! Definitely a must try product!.

If I could, I would give this 10* stars! As I have only used it for a couple of days (2 days to be exact) but can see the improvement in my extremely dry lips. They are becoming visible more moisturised.

This stays on overnight, and I can feel it on in the morning, very intensive treatment. Not heavy or sticky but just what my lips needed. Dont need to reaply as often as other lip products. The smell is subtle and pleasant, it doesn’t sting my lips like other lip balms did.

It is so worth trying if you have really dry lips. Highly recommend!.

For the past few years I have been having the hardest time finding a good lip balm for me. They all irritate my lips, with blisters, burning and like sand paper feel! I mean every brand, tatcha, biossance, ilia, bite, Dior, laneige.

I always end up with worse lips and bleeding. I dont know what it is about any of them. I always stayed away from buying this because its so expensive for a small amount. I have and use a lot of DE body and hair products so now I wish I tried this sooner.

It took away my burning sand paper lips in less than 2 nights and now they feel normal again. No smell , no weird feel, just s pleasant balm. Ill see how long it lasts me but it might just become a staple, esp fall and winter months.

I received this as part of the classic advent calendar. My favorite use is as an overnight treatment. So many women wear lip products during the day and while these may look great they just don’t hydrate and I’ve noticed since the matte lipstick trend has started that there are all these products on the market to deal with the fallout- overnight lip masks, lip scrubs etc.

At some point we have to give our lips some nourishment and this product is perfect for that, it feels wonderfully hydrating and luxurious. Replenishing and great for overnight or an evening in while relaxing.

I LOVE this lip balm!! One of the only ones I can put on before bed without feeling like I’ve left oil on my lips when I wake up. Super moisturising and great for sensitive skin. Only problem is the applicator area splits after about half the tube has been used.

Happened with multiple tubes but is amazing except the plastic applicator area.

This balm with shea butter helps me to repair lips’ natural moisture barrier, addressing the problem for the long term instead of just temporarily. It also layers well with lipstick, keeping lips moisturized without causing it to slip and slide around.

Especially L’Occitane Shea Moisturising Organic Lip Balm in good in winter period, it keeps the lips protected from cracking. And the thing I also love in Lip balm is it not to have perfume smell that do not cause any allergy like others.

I do defenetly recommend it to other customers and am pretty sure them to feel good with it.

TLDR at the end! Long review incoming! Let me start by saying I have the driest lips of anybody I know. They get so dry that sometimes my top lip literally loses feeling because it’s just a layer of dead or dehydrated skin.

I have tried probably 80 different brands in the last few years trying to find a balm that works to hydrate these languished lips without also breaking out the area around my mouth (particularly when I was wearing a mask constantly, but also because I’m a Face Sleeper™.

) This balm works wonders for me. It’s the best thing I’ve used in years. The *scent* is really beautiful and the finish is fine, although I’d prefer if it was slightly glossier (but that’s a nitpick.

) The reason I believe this isn’t quite a holy grail is because the sunscreen taste is absolutely undeniable. A lot of other reviews mention that it isn’t bad, which is curious to me because I find it approaching a level I consider to be overwhelming.

It’s also especially curious because you can’t SMELL it! It’s only in the taste. However, I still absolutely recommend it if you have dry lips that nothing seems to work on. This really has made me feel so much more confident not having a Crusty Lip™ TLDR: if you don’t mind a pretty strong sunscreen taste, this is literally the best lip balm I’ve ever used as far as functionality is concerned.

I have dry skin and lips year round, through very hot summers and cold winters. I had tried some of the more expensive lip balms and masks and they either didn’t work me, didn’t stay on my lips very long, or were a hassle to use and goopy (I really hate both the Laneige and Tatcha lip masks).

Not to mention the ridiculous prices, and gross overly artificial flavors. I first tried this in lemon (which is sweet like lemon cake or limoncello), and I liked the performance enough to just try the basic scents.

Shea is very light, just smells like shea butter, and mint is refreshing, like you just brushed your teeth. These are great both in performance and packaging. Easy to use on the go or in the dark when I’m getting into bed, stay on my lips all night, even stay on pretty well throughout the day with eating and drinking, a very thin layer works great for lipstick prep.

They never feel goopy, waxy, or turn white. I saw another review mention tasting the sunscreen, I know that flavor from trying the Supergoop lip balm, and I do not have that problem with this at all.

In fact, I don’t really “taste” the scent either, it’s really just a scent. It might be fun to try the others but I think these two are the best. I also love that this brand is cruelty-free.

Now this is what I call a great lip treatment! It’s just my kind of thing – natural ingredients, decent SPF, compact, not too expensive and a unique minty flavor. The spf25 is protective enough for the hot/sunny Florida climate I’m exposed to every day, and it smells and tastes refreshing! This works better than other lip balms/treatments that are double and triple the price.

Oh and did I mention it actually works?! One very minor gripe is the tube it comes in (always got to cut in half to get the last of it out) but that’s so minor you can forget I just mentioned it! I only bought this because it was on sale and I wanted one last item to qualify for a promotion on PC products – I am blown away by the quality of this lip treatment. It has a soft, creamy feel but enough ‘Stick’ to it that it will last hours hours.

I love the ingredient list and I use this when my lips get really dry and need extra TLC. I cannot believe how long this little container has lasted! I use it on my brows too, to “seal” the eyebrow color, and same thing – lasts forever.

I’ve used this on elbows, cuticles, too but mostly lips. I would say it’s a similar texture to Carmex but has no scent and a much safer ingredient list, not to mention the size. Awesome.

I have perpetually chapped lips. I’ve used every product you can think of, but most are too greasy (especially under a mask!), too dry, too gloppy, or too something. This one is wonderful! I can easily control the amount I apply.

It healed my lips virtually overnight. And as an extra bonus, it’s a terrific primer under matte lipstick! I love my mattes, but they usually destroy my lips. I found when I apply a little Lip & Body Treatment underneath, my lips stay soft and comfortable without changing the color or texture of the lipstick.

I just ordered more to have one in every room.

I needed relief for constant chapped lips. The product reviews sounded promising. I initially tried this at bedtime and woke up with the amazing healed, soft lips. (I’m contemplating using this on the heels of my feet now.

) I’ve been using the product consistently on my lips for nearly two weeks and don’t have to reapply throughout the day. I use it once in the morning after prepping for the day and once at night before bedtime.

It’s plenty regardless of mealtimes and current weather conditions in the NYC area. The recipe lives up to its marketing and majority customer reviews. Thank you, sincerely, for a winner.

I received this as a gift. I thought it was pretty decent at first, kind of like glorified Vaseline. I started to use it more regularly and was experiencing some discomfort. My lips felt red and irritated and kind of burned.

I had tiny red patches on them. I did a search of things that are irritating to lips and there were at least 5 ingredients in the lip balm on that list. I stopped using it and made my own product of butters, oils, and vegan waxes and my lips no longer burn and are healing.

In my experience, I cannot recommend this product. It’s also pricy for what it actually is. If you have sensitive lips, stay away. For this kind of money, go spend it on Evan Healy or make your own.

I have been using Kiehl’s products since I first started loving skincare in my early teens. I received this lip balm as a free gift with purchase for my birthday. I remember using this balm all through highschool of course now there are different flavors.

I originally had the original formula so I thought I would switch it up and go with cranberry. It is still a clear color and has a very slight cranberry flavor/scent. It is super moisturizing while still being light weight and not sticky in any way.

This lip balm is nice enough, but doesn’t have the moisturizing power I am looking for in a winter lip product. It can’t quite repair my moisture barrier in such a dry winter climate that I live in. Doesn’t last very long unfortunately, so my lips are still dry come morning after applying before bed.

It has a faint minty smell, like toothpaste, but doesn’t taste like it oddly. Difficult to squeeze out of the tube. Application and mouth feel are nice though; not sticky but not too thin. I will try it again come summer, it may perform better then.

I went through two months of my lips being red, swollen and sore. I had to go though the process of elimination of what I am sensitive to. For a while all I could use was vitamin E capsules broken open.

It seemed as if I was sensitive to petroleum and scents and I reacted positively to glycerin. This was the only product I could find that met all of those requirements. This mixed with using some cortizone lip balm at night cleared up my chapped lips within a week or so.

This was a life saver, I seriously had spent so much money on so many different lip balms before I found this one. 100% would recommend.

I won this @biossance Radiantly Rose 🌹 Duo from @suzannec_713 awhile back. I’ve used them both enough times to where I think I can give a good review. Their *holy grail Vitamin C Rose 🌹 Oil is a nice face oil that’s a thin consistency it has a light scent of roses 🌹🌹🌹 It helps moisturize while brightening your skin the Vitamin C is not only great for your skin, but it helps to reduce dark spots.

I haven’t seen the reduction of dark spots *yet, but I’m hoping over time it will fade them. It also has Squalane in the Rose 🌹 Oil which is also great for hydration fine lines. My skin does look more radiant when I use this oil, I don’t even need a moisturizer because it’s plenty hydrating! I’m usually pretty sensitive to scents, but the rose scent isn’t heavy.

It’s very light fades after you rub in the oil. I have acne-prone, sensitive, combo skin I didn’t get any breakouts from this oil, so it’s safe to use if you have similar skin. The Rose 🌹 Vegan Lip Balm comes in a squishy tube it’s smooth, almost like a lip gloss, but not sticky.

It has no scent that I can detect, so if there is a rose 🌹 scent, it’s super faint. It leaves my lips hydrated for hours gives them a little shine, too. Not quite like a gloss, but just a healthy shine.

This is a holy grail product. I’ve tried tons of lip balms, but none like this. This feels almost like a thick jelly consistency, where it’s not going to move around a lot on the lips but offers intense moisture.

I feel like this holds in moisture because of the thick consistency. It gives a glossy appearance to the lips foe a while but does soak in after a bit. On top of that, it smells amazing but in a non-fragranced, natural way.

Compared to other high-end lip balms, this one is very reasonably priced. Love love love and will continue to repurchase.

I have been religious to using lip sense lip balm for the last five years. I use it once in the morning and once at night. But no sunscreen. That is what sold me on purchasing this, however the quality of this product has kept my lips soft, a little goes a long way, and I still only need to use it in the morning and at night.

No more using Chapstick or Berts bees several times a day. Stew will last you forever.

I’m very active outdoors and unfortunately for me, my lips are very prone to sunburn. This is the best product with an SPF greater than 15 that I have used. Most products with high SPF are petroleum based, hence on hot days you pull out your tube and find a big glob of overly soft sunscreen.

This unscreen remains usable no matter what the temp and does a great job of combatting dryness as well.

I started looking at the ingredients on this sunscreen and lip balm, and, at least one of them is going on the FDA banned ingredient list starting January 2023, and two of the ingredients are harmful for the Coral Reefs.

I really like these products and trusted the company when they said they were good for you. I will have to start really looking into the full ingredients list. Feel disappointed.

I’ve tried many brands of lip balm and very particular about the performance, feel, smell, texture, packaging of such expensive lip balm. The only reason I’m repurchasing this although I don’t think it’s worth it’s pricey price tag is because it doesn’t sting my lips when I’ve peeled lips.

I like the non very sticky/ oily/ or heavy feeling. It feels comfortable on my lips and I’m a sucker for that mild cocoa-mint scent. I’m not sure if it helps much on repairing. I think it’s only maintaining.

In terms of repairing and hydrating performance, Chanel’s lip balm (the one in pot packaging) performs better than La Mer, unfortunately Sephora isn’t selling it yet. But Chanel’s lip balm texture is slightly heavier.

Personally I like this La Mer lip balm is better than Tatcha’s. Tatcha’s only nice packaging but did nothing. If you’ve budget and willing to splurge on a brand like La Mer it’s ok but don’t expect it to heal your lips fast.

I think Chanel’s lip balm helps to heal faster. My lips still peeled while I was using this La Mer lip balm religiously. This product is just an okay borderline lovely lip balm, not the best, I’m still searching for the best.

I normally don’t leave reviews but I had to for this. My lips have been chronically dry for as long as I can remember. Regardless of the lip balm used at bedtime, I would wake up to rough and dry lips that peeled before I even had my morning coffee.

I’ve tried them all – lanegie lip sleep mask, fresh lip balm, caudalie, qtica, Vaseline, Burt’s bees, etc. Some were better than others but none of them have done what this lip balm has done. In less than a week, my lips have become soft, moist, plump.

There’s nothing to peel! I can’t stop looking at them and I’m totally amazed by the transformation. I was hesitant to pay so much for a lip balm, but I’m so glad that I did. I can even go without balm during the day now and my lips stay soft.

Seriously, if you’ve tried it all like I have, you have nothing to lose by trying this one too. You can thank me later.

Being a massive fan of most things La Mer, I thought I would love this product. In the summer my lips tend to get dry, and I’ll run through insane amounts of lip balm trying to keep them feeling and looking nice.

La Mer is my go-to when I want to treat myself. From their toner, to their cleanser, their various moisturizers, I could go on and on, I thought this lip balm would be top tier. Sadly it felt cheap from the jump.

The jar itself is cheap plastic that doesn’t feel like suitable for a $100 lip balm. The product itself is meh, and I find myself having to re-apply constantly throughout the day with mediocre results.

The smell and taste is quite nice, and it absorbs fairly well, however I guess I just expected more for the price point and was let down once I received it. Overall, I still believe La Mer is often worth the insanely high price point, but on this product in particular it simply isn’t.

There are far better lip balms out there for half the price or less. Even some drug store lip balms outperform this for a fraction of the cost. I’ll still be a La Mer customer for life, but this was a once and never again purchase.
