20 Best Lightweight Comforter For Summer (2023 Updated)

The comforter is soft, lightweight, warm and very easily laundered at home. It is exactly what I was looking for. Also the colors are perfect on this reversible comforter, which included two pillowcases.

“Light” comforter is about twice as ‘heavy’ as I would have preferred — I was looking for a warm season, non-down filler. That’s why it’s always nice when ‘descriptions’ of products mention overall weight and/or seasonability.

The cover material is substantial and has a nice sheen though. Will probably work for ‘shoulder’ (fall/spring) as well.

The product is exceptional and fluffs up nicely after being washed. We got the summer fill and it is perfect for our warmer climate! To say this company stands behind their product is an understatement.

This was a gift for my daughter and SIL who had just moved to Portland, ME from Arizona. Her words about the comforter were “So warm but very breathable and comfy. We really love it and needed it. And the cats love it too.

” It was worth the wait, which was over three weeks. But Sol Organics did say it would take that long. When I inquired after three weeks, they responded quickly saying they just got stock and it would be shipped shortly.

And it was. I suspect the ‘supply chain’ issues were affecting them.

This is totally amazing. I moved to a colder climate and wanted something warm and cozy for my drafty bedroom. Somehow this keeps you the perfectly comfy temperature all night. I also foresee this being usable in the hot summers.

It did not have a bad odor at all out of the bag and I was able to sleep with it right away without airing it out for a week or two like I often have to due to offgassing. I would so buy this again!!.

I’ve been using my Eddie Bauer comforter for a few weeks now. It’s a wonderful weight, not too hot, not too light, not too stiff. On size, I bought a oversized king for my cal king tempupedic and it was too big.

It might have worked if the bed was on risers. Downlight made it really easy to return it and get the standard and it fits perfectly.

I have had this comforter for a while now and it is still full and fluffy looking. It fills in the duvet cover nicely. I have washed and dried it multiple times. The weird down smell dissipated after it dried completely.

It’s perfect for cold winter nights, but might be too warm for summer.

this is light weight. it’s enough though for the summer and as I sleep hot, it will be just right for the winter here to. I live in Washington state so we don’t get really low temps. Works great in the duvet cover I bought for it.

Perfect for hot sleepers. My husband gets hot pretty quickly under blankets while I typically get cold. This comforter is the perfect balance for us. Highly recommend!

My four year old daughter ungraded to a “big girl” bed last year and I swiftly bought twin sized bedding for her, mostly looking for the best deal but not really thinking too much about what she’d need given that we live in a place that can be -20* in the winter and 100* in the summer.

This summer, I’ve noticed that she wakes up every day with her covers thrown off and her pjs pants on the floor. She was obviously getting too! This Serta blanket seems like the answer! It’s got a good weight to it for its size, but it’s also less bulky than her previous comforter.

She’s slept with it the past week and each day I come in, it’s still over her body in the morning. Though she’s four, I asked her how she liked her blanket. Was she too hot or too cold? I had to laugh when she said, “It’s not too hot or too cold, Mama.

It’s just right!” Little Goldie Locks is sleeping well and I’m glad for that! The only down side to this duvet insert is that there are no ties in the corners to attach to a duvet cover. I’m not too worried though as I’ll just sew on strings to each corner and use those to keep the blanket inside the cover.

Over all, this seems like a quality product. I’m happy with the blanket and look forward to seeing how warm it keeps my daughter in the cooler months.

Review for the CLIMA Comforter. It has a nice weight. It fit perfectly in the Sijo duvet cover I ordered. It was fairly easy to wash. It does not seem to regulate temperature as well as I expected based on the reviews I read before purchasing it.

For that reason, I am a little bit concerned about how it is going to feel in the summer. But, overall, I am content with it for now. And I feel like it is a high-quality comforter; especially appreciate that is is made sustainably.

Overall, I recommend it. Solid 4 out of 5.

Historically I have not been a fan of duvets as I find them too hot and too heavy. However my husband loves a duvet so we needed to find a compromise. Success!! We found the Temp Tune Comforter from Sijo.

We were first introduced to this comforter at an Airbnb and loved it. I searched for the label, went into the site and purchased one. Within a few days of ordering, we received and we have been sleeping well ever since.

I am so picky when it comes to bedding. I like fluffy, marshmallow-like texture, but I also get too warm, and all I want is something that can do it all! Luckily, this comforter is it! I love my Sijo sheets and was excited to see something new in their comforter range for winter time.

I slept so well and felt comfortable the whole night because I just wanted to stay wrapped up in this comforter. HIGHLY recommend.

I ordered this lovely comforter in white for our master suite. I was hoping that the color had no blue-ish tint, and it is spot on with the pure white color. In Georgia, we have 2 seasons in a day sometimes, so this is absolutely perfect for those winter nights used over another blanket.

We have an electric blanket that we place this over, add it keeps the heat in very well. Used alone for those cool night, it feels dreamy soft and I love the way it feels on my skin. It is described as a microfiber-ish soft feel, and it has piping along the sides which makes it more luxurious.

It feels comfy. I want to order another in a twin, just so I can drag it to the living room to use when watching tv. It feels great! The quality is good, it is not too heavy nor too light. I suggest this for those medium temperature nights since it is not overly heavy.

This is definitely not a heavy comforter so order accordingly. I threw mine in the dryer, fluffed out the wrinkles, and made up a nice looking bed for the New Year. Maybe you can catch one on sale!!.

I purchased this intending to use it as a lightweight duvet insert. Since it didn’t come with loops on the corners I was planning on sewing some on. This “comforter” is not a good product. It supposedly has baffle construction to hold the polyester filling in place, however filling is so thin and some of the boxes have more filling than others.

Some boxes are severely lacking in filling. When I was sewing the loops on the corners I found that two of the corners had the filling jammed into the end of the corner while the other two had almost no filling at all.

Overall this product is not good. Too little filling, filling is clumped up and not evenly distributed. I decided to keep it because I wanted something light weight and this is light weight. And since it is going inside a duvet nobody will ever see it anyway.

But my recommendation is add a few dollars to your purchase and get something nicer and more well made.

I like this comforter, but it’s not perfect. I like that it’s really soft, pretty warm and it is thin but it’s nice because it actually fits in our washer and dryer. My only issue is the filling bunches up when you wash it.

It’s annoying but it’s not a deal breaker. We sleep with it every night and with our flannel sheets it’s very comfortable and keep us nice and warm. Also, it’s a little small. It covers our whole bed but it’s short length wise.

We are both pretty short so it doesn’t matter for us but if you’re tall maybe get a different one.

Not worth the price, very itchy when there isn’t a duvet cover on also there’s no ties to keep the comforter in place with a cover. Is very warm tho with a cover perfect for winter. Is light and fluffy but very warm.

The Martha Stewart white down comforter all seasons comfort 100 percent cotton, 300 thread count cover, 600 fill power in white down comes in a very nicely packaged zippered bag perfect for storage when not in use.

The full/queen size measures 90 inches by 90 inches and easily covers a queen bed. The comforter is made and stitched of a good quality and is the perfect weight that you will not get too hot while sleeping.

This comforter is very soft and looks very nice on my bed. You can easily add throw pillows to dress your bed up and add colors if you so wish to add a pop of color. I have had an amazing night’s sleep using the comforter and have not felt the need to kick off the comforter as I have with other bulkier comforters that would make me hot at night.

I have always been hesitant to try a down comforter as I live in a warmer climate and always thought down would be too hot but to my absolute amazement that is NOT the case. This comforter is all white, but do not let that scare you away. Just simply purchase a duvet cover and you will be fine, There are loops in different corners of this which make it easy to attach a duvet to prevent your comforter from getting dirty.

The material is soft against my skin and so comfortable to burrito myself in. Its so puffy, so it sort of makes me feel like a princess getting to enjoy one of the finer things in life. There is nothing that pokes out of this comforter and material is nice and thick.

It is lightweight but don’t let that fool you as it offers just the right of warmth. It doesnt make you too hot or cold. The size of this is perfect for my king size bed. It offers coverage on the mattress just as the photo in the advertisement shows.

One bummer for this is that it is dry clean only, but this is the first comforter like this that I have had, so I assume it would be the standard for most of these sort of comforters. I honestly didn’t know what I was missing by using a regular polyester comforter all these years.

I was a little surprised at first by how thick and fluffy this “cooling” comforter is. I have summer comforters that are just thin and barely stuffed. I also noticed a distinct chemical smell at first (and a “dry clean only” label).

Well, I put it in the washing machine and dryer and it came out great, fluffy and no more stinky. The first night I slept under it, I really liked the cool bamboo cover – it is silky and luxurious and feels great.

I purchased the Matouk chalet summer weight. It is very very fluffy and luxurious. The material is neither thick nor thin (thick material would have been a negative for me). The material is slightly crunchy sounding at first, but that stopped once I put the duvet inside a duvet cover.

My one issue with this duvet is that it gets a bit warm and I wouldn’t say it’s “summer weight”, but I definitely sleep warmer than the average person. I live in Boston, MA. I’m keeping it because it’s fluffy, luxurious, and cool-enough.

I originally purchased the summer weight comforter from the Montreaux line. However, that line uses only duck down. Which is pretty messy (smaller duck down clusters easily escape the lower thread count cotton of Montreaux.

) I live in NYC, but our apartment stays pretty warm throughout the year. However, the summer weight was definitely too light. I strongly recommend upgrading to the goose down Valletto line – for both pillows and comforters.

You get what you pay for. This Valletto comforter is beautifully made, and I expect it to last many years to come.

I purchased this comforter for our guest bed. The main factors for making this purchase for me were quality, organic materials, and the holiday sales were the final incentive to just go for it. I wouldn’t pay the non sale price though, around $400.

I’m rating four stars because while it’s clearly well made, the loft is inconsistent in each square (some have plenty, others not enough) and I’m skeptical that this will be cozy enough even though it is the Extra Warm fill.

But, with a comforter cover and some flannel sheets, I think this will do just fine for Maine winters. As other reviewers have noted, because the cotton cover is thicker, this doesn’t necessarily have the light as a feather loft quality that other down comforter have.

I try to buy sustainable products that are produced ethically and do the least harm to the environment and people. While this is down, the responsibly sourced certifications reassured me. The comforter came relatively quickly and was packaged well, which I appreciate since many boxes often arrive damaged these days.

I purchased this comforter (lightweight, king) 8 months ago but didn’t unpack and start using it until I moved into my new home four months ago. I’m sad that I didn’t unpack it and test it sooner. I have to vacuum every other day.

There are feathers all over my room and they show up on my dark comforter cover making it look dirty. I’ve come to vacuuming or lint-rolling my bed after I make it in the morning and am seriously annoyed with it.

I purchased the light filling, queen/double to replace a comforter that is older than I can think (maybe 30 years. ??!!), and has finally broken down and worn out. The Company Store comforter arrived in a large box, and was fluffy enough! As some reviewers noted, yes, it makes crinkle sounds (it’s brand new!).

The outer shell is tight-woven sateen fabric (of course it makes crinkle sounds!), that appears to be high quality. I’m not an active sleeper, so the sound hasn’t kept me awake. I debated about a heavier fill, but I often sleep with a comforter in the summer too and the one I’m replacing was a similar weight, and was a great year-round cover.

The Company Store comforter will be too warm for the summer probably, and that’s fine, I bought this for the winter months. It’s light-weight and cozy – perfect for the first few cold nights we’ve had already.

It warms up quickly when you crawl under it (I get cold very easily in the winter) and a couple of the first nights I slept under it I woke up sweating from the solid warmth. I’m not used to sleeping under a heat-retaining/reflecting cover! But I’m very happy with it.

After reading all the reviews and considering the options, I decided this comforter ticked all the boxes – and bottom line, I could return it if it wasn’t what I expected. I think I got a great deal and imagine I’ll have this one for another 30 years.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this quilt nor their sheets. Firstly the quality is average. There are multiple areas where stitching is coming out/loose. Secondly the buttons on the bottom of the cover don’t hold in the quilt tight enough so it often bulges out of the bottom with the buttons undoing themselves.

And lastly the quilt and the sheets move around a lot. They slide against each other to the point where it becomes a 5min ordeal each morning to try and get everything back in order. I heard about this before purchasing but I thought the ties on the corners would be enough.

Unfortunately they are not. The quilt still slips around and bulges and wriggles free. Overall I don’t recommend Ettitude unless you can get their stuff on sale. I want to support companies that are making a positive difference but I can’t in this specific case.

I give them three stars for being average sheets that get the job done, but introduce more problems then they solve.

This summer weight comforter was perfect for me as a winter comforter. I’ve been dealing with hot flashes and night sweats, and this comforter has been perfect. It is cool to the touch but kept me warm without getting hot and sweaty.

For a cooling effect, I just shift the blanket to a part my body hadn’t warmed. It is silky, soft, and breathable. I love it! The bamboo filling/batting makes a crucial difference if you are looking for breathability; I tried several other brands that had poly filling, and they were not breathable at all.

My only reservation with this comforter is that the tag said to dry clean it. I washed it in the washer, so I hope it retains all its great qualities. This comforter saved me! :).

We ordered the king Winter weight and sage comforter. We live in southwest Virginia and have a queen size mattress. This is the perfect size and weight for comfort and warmth In the late fall winter and early spring… summer and warmer nights are TBD.

We are average for body weight and height. The queen size comforter would never work for two. I don’t have night sweats as much as I used to. The sage is gorgeous and will go with a lot of room decor and sheets if you like the natural earthy tones.

4 stars bc the buttons come undone and the comforter starts to hang out. A hidden zipper would be way more functional.
