20 Best Lightweight Comforters For Summer (2023 Updated)

I dont ever really leave reviews on stuff but this one deserved one. I’ve purchased other blankets that claim to “cool” you or stay cool and breathable, but none even come close to this! Its truly amazing.

Its pricey in my honest opinion for a blanket but it’s hands down the best sleep investment i have made. If you feel like you’re warming up at all, all you have to do is move a bit and any other spot you touch is very fresh.

Like a constant flipping of the pillow for your body without having to do much for it. If they made a mattress with this same tech/material and pillows, they can take all my money. I bought the california king cause im a large man at 6’6 and 380 lbs and use it all the time now.

While watching movies or cuddling the wife or sleeping. I dont want to get out of bed haha its my only negative comment. It feels so good you don’t its that much harder to get up every morning for gym time and work.

I literally fall asleep everywhere when i have it. Wife takes pics of me because she thinks its funny considering i have always suffered from bad insomnia, especially in the summer months of AZ, and now i sleep better than ever and at a reasonable time.

I’m one of those people that sleep with their feet outside of the blankets. My feet are always seeking a Cool spot to rest. This Evercool comforter is a delight, there is Always a Cool Spot. I like the very soft feel of the material.

The comforter is well made, with strong stitching and a smooth piped edge, and, most importantly the inner material doesn’t feel like it will bunch up. It’s not heavy but it has a little weight to it so I know it’s there.

I’ve also noticed that it also holds my body heat when I cover myself and will thusly be good through the winter months too. I’m confident that it will be with me for many years as a quality made favorite blanket.

Lastly, my sweet little dachshund dog likes it too, He clearly seeks out the coolness of the comforter in preference to his own blanket, I wouldn’t share with just anyone, ya know?.

I am conflicted about the purchase. I LOVE the feel of this comforter. It is so soft, has a nice weight to it, and just feels luxurious when I snuggle up in it. But I live in Phoenix- it is hot in the summer, so I thought a cooling duvet would be the answer to my nighttime overheating with my memory foam (ugh, hot) mattress.

The blanket is cool to the touch which I love, but once it absorbs the body heat it seems to reflect it back. BUT. I took the blanket camping in my trailer. It was 55 degrees overnight and the duvet was AMAZING! Cool to the touch, but at the same time kept me nice and warm without making me hot while I was sleeping.

So it’s a keeper for sure. I love it, just not really for summer use. But I do like to come home after work and lay across the bed for a few minutes to enjoy the coolness that it has from the A/C against my skin.

I have both the baby blue (aqua sounds more like a blue-green, this is baby blue) and the gray.

I am so happy with my new comforter. It’s a perfect thickness for me and it’s very soft. I always wanted an all white bedding set. I bought a very nice white sheet set on Zulily to go with it. Love that too! Extra deep pockets.

Nice! This comforter might appear thin but it fluffs up and will be plenty warm enough for winter too. I really love it!.

We upgraded to a much larger size (King) from our previous comforter. This works like any low-cost comforter I had before. Keeps heat in, but not overbearing, and pretty light weight. I would prefer a darker “Espresso” brown.

Also, I believe it’s the “down” inside that can be lumpy on some edges, and I’m not happy with those lumpy spots. I wouldn’t buy this brand again.

Although I live in LA; it gets cold at night and I like it warm when I sleep underneath big, poofy blankets. My current comforter was four years old and my cat as added her touch to it AKA clawed at it.

I ordered this Down Alternative comforter in grey (full size) to replace my comforter. The comforter arrived in a space saver bag with a ribbon around it (nice touch!) that instantly poofed up once the space saver bag was opened.

The color was a dark grey and exactly as expected per the photos in the item listing. The fabric of the comforter is soft and almost satiny; mimicking down feathers. In terms of thickness, it is almost like a sleeping bag don’t expect top-most quality but it isn’t bad.

It hold heat well so I am assuming it also holds cold air well (when using an AC). Some cons: the fabric wrinkles very easily. I noticed that even when I or my cat sit on it and stand up there are some wrinkles.

Also, the size seems smaller than a regular full so if you like the comforter hanging over the edge similar to the photos then consider ordering a size up. Overall, this comforter isn’t bad and definitely worth the low price.

Again, it isn’t a grade A comforter but it’s solid in the middle-ground. Recommended if you want a decent, comfy, soft, comforter but strapped for cash.

I purchased the pink comforter for my daughter which she loves as it fits her room theme. I was surprised at how soft the comforter was when it arrived. Now, its not a super thick comforter but it worked for us because typically, she has to blankets on her bed during the winter time but perfect for summer with this one comforter.

She is always wrapped up in this blanket whoever she is in the room. In fact, I liked it so much that I ended up buying one for my bed. It was just so soft and cozy. Love this comforter!! Totally recommend!.

I LOVE my new comforter! Arrived quickly, packaged very well. It’s beautiful, comfortable, and well made. The squares evenly distribute the stuffing so that it doesn’t crunch up and that makes a wonderful difference! It was a great price, and fits great! The color is exactly like the picture shows.

Ok, I have never felt this warm and cozy and comforted under a duvet. I live in the middle of the woods in the N GA mountains. I have been freezing prior to getting this comforter. Last night got down to 25F.

I had to take off my socks and extra sweatshirt. Soft and pleasing to look at, an overall pleasure. The pillowcases. leave them out.

Normally I prefer to fully test it out before reviewing, but I have to write this up within a limited time frame that doesn’t include the other three seasons. My initial impression upon touching the comforter is.

OMG so squishy soft. Is this actually a plush animal–er, cloud?! *daydreams* Anyway, I tested it very briefly because I prefer thin heavy blankets. To me, this felt super lightweight and super fluffy.

Possibly comfy, but I was sweaty and wearing jeans at the time, so comfort didn’t cross my mind. My mother was next to test it (and in her PJs). Like me, she prefer heavier blankets. She didn’t use the comforter long before getting up to switch back to her old blankets.

According to her, the comforter got bigger and heavier the longer she was under it. So, expect the comforter to continue expanding (and fluffing itself) HOURS after being freed from the confines of its bag.

My mother also found it hard to turn in bed–which is the deal breaker for her–but this is probably because the comforter is full/queen size and her bed is twin size. One pro she mentioned is how she quickly warmed up under it.

Lastly, my brother tested this comforter. His words the next morning after using it all night: “I felt like a marshmallow!” That’s right. The comforter was so soft and fluffy that he described it as a marshmallow, not clouds.

(Thankfully we have the duvet cover on, otherwise he surely would somehow stain it over time and call it a toasted marshmallow. ) To him, the comforter is light, comfy, and kept him warm. Compared to his winter “man” blankets–which I think are fleece–this comforter kept him warmer than those.

He is also using a twin size bed, but did not find any trouble turning like our mother did. (He’s way bigger than our mother and known for blankets magically ending up on the floor the next morning. ) TL;DR: If you like light and fluffy marshmallow softness in your blankets for the cold winter nights, the Serta Down Illusion Down Alternative All Season Comforter is sure to put a smile on your face.

(Too bad it doesn’t smell like marshmallows. ) But with how well it retains heat in the winter, it might be too hot in the summer (unless the AC is set to frigid temps).

Ok I have used plenty of comforters in my life and I have never had one like this one. Don’t get me wrong I love all of my comforters every one is unique to their designed. I like the way this one feels its like it has air inside and it’s so comfortable.

I have used it as a comforter just for the bed and I also slept with it like it was a blanket. I love the design and the color it reflex your room to have a nice crisp look. The sims are are perfect with no loose thread.

It is so fluffy, that you won’t believe it’s not down! I slept with it and let me tell you I felt like I did not have a blanket at all. Also love that it regulates to your bodies temperature. It is lightweight, cozy and it contains Allergen Barrier Weaving which prevents dust mites and other common household allergens, which it is a plus.

I do recommend this comforter.

I absolutely love my new comforter. I bought the blush which is actually a very light, beautiful pink. It is nice and thin which is what I wanted, and fits my king size bed with ample room on both sides and bottom.

The first couple of nights I woke up in a sweat, but haven’t since. The weather has been quite warm but the comforter has stayed comfortable without getting too warm. The pillow shams are flimsy, kind of like a pillowcase instead of a sham.

I plan to replace them when I find the right shade, etc. This comforter reverses to white. I bought the cottage pink colored print sheets too and they look very nice with the comforter.

I really love my bedspread. I bought the light pink one and it is beautiful and perfect in every way; I love it. It is comfortable and not too warm at all. I haven’t had to test it out though the winter months yet, but I know it will be perfect.

It is lightweight but so soft and cozy. My husband has not had to use it yet since he is always too hot in the summertime. I repeat though, this comforter is lightweight and not too warm at all for most people.

I had purchased the aqua and light gray fir myself. I loved it so much, for Christmas I ordered three more in different colors for presents to my two daughters and my sister. Thats how much I liked it.

Price is great, an the quality was wonderful and color is beautiful. I wash it and dry it in the dryer, came out beautiful, not lumpy like some comforters do after a wash and dry! Definitely recommend this comforter.

I ordered this comforter set in King Size and Pink Blush color. I read many, many reviews stating this comforter was too small for a king bed but I bought it anyway. I so happy that I did. It fits my bed exactly as most king size comforters have in the past.

The color is super soft, a very, very light pink. It is thin but I find it warm enough. As far as lasting a long time, I don’t know but I do know that at the low price I paid I am willing to find out.

I was looking for comforters, for a guest bedroom. I took a chance on Zulily since other major stores were either to expensive, poor quality or out of stock. I love these comforters. The soft gray tone was what I was looking for, for a small bedroom.

It not considered a heavy comforter, but a lightweight padding that won’t over heat guests. Its simple yet decorative. I can now add a few decor pillows and even another complimentary pillow sham to complete the look.

Well I order from Sam’s every month. Have never been less then just what I wanted. So honestly when my hubby opened it, he threw label and packing in the trash. My room was not quiet finished, so left it folded up for a few days.

When I undid the 3 pieces they were each slightly different in color. From cream to very old and yellowed looking. To small for my king bed. I could not recommend this item. But my very next order was all perfect.

Just not this one.

Rate it three only because it was so inexpensive. This is a very very lightweight, thin down alternative comforter. It actually wrinkles very quickly. It’s more like an oversized throw than a comforter.

Would work well in the summertime or if you want to just a very light comforter. But the biggest part of the problem is the color. It is a bright coral, not at all rust. The reverse side oatmeal is an accurate description but this is a bright vividly colored comforter.

No hint of “ rust” at all.

I like these comforters and bought in a few colors. They are very lightweight without thick stuffing. But, fabric is very soft. Colors are vibrant and pretty. Note though every color combination product picture is dramatically different from what has arrived.

So, if your heart is set on what you see in the picture do not purchase. For instance, this charcoal/misty rose is silver/pale lavender. Very nice inexpensive soft lightweight item.

Okay so if you’ve read any of the other reviews, you will see that there are some complaints about the color. So let me go ahead and tell you, it’s not quite as green as it looks in the picture. It’s a much cooler shade, somewhere between green and blue.

I thought it was blue when it came in until I put it next to my blue sheets and saw the difference between them. If you are looking for something that is without a doubt green, maybe go for something else.

But if you are okay with the color being slightly off, I would suggest this. It feels pretty fluffy but not too hot. The reverse side is a cream color, definitely not white like some people said. If you are looking for more of an oversized look, go up a size.

Especially if you have a thicker mattress. I got a king for my queen bed and I really like how it fits. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the color discrepancy.

I really love the design and colors of the Isla reversible comforter set. They are a soft grey, pink, coral and brownish pink. One side is a flowery paisley style with all of the colors and the other side is an oval pattern with the brownish pink/taupe color.

I love that none of the colors are bright and that they all are so neutral. Even though there is a good amount of pink and coral my husband doesn’t feel like its too feminine. It makes decorating so much easier.

The comforter is nice and thick and fairly soft. I do wish it were a little wider so that it went further down the sides of my king size bed but they hang about 12 inches on either side. The length is more than enough.

The set also came with a grey, flat bed skirt, 2 large square pillowcases that are solid grey with light pink trim, 2 king size pillowcases in matching paisley print and 2 throw pillows. The throw pillows are beautiful too.

One is a 12 x 12 square that has a coordinating design embroidered on it. The other pillow is a smaller rectangle with 3 of the flowery designs embroidered on it. I really love this set. It is so nicely made and feels like it will last a long time and the design will be in style for a long time.

I don’t know why these one got 5 star reviews. First of all its very different from the picture, the color is not as vibrant, its fade. The fabric is not soft in your skin, its rough and sharp. 1 star is for the design and print.

The only cute about this set is the 2 pillows. The quality is not good at all. Ended up returning.

They vacuumed packed the comforter and pillows. It looked awful and had loose strings all over it. They told me it had to be returned in the original two boxes which was almost impossible. I had to pay an additional $51.

87 for postage to return the item. I would never buy anything from this company again.

I bought the Ivory color in 2020 and came back looking for the White color in 2023. Was nervous as other reviews said the white appeared more of a cream/ivory but mine arrived a nice snow white color.

Thankfully they still sell this set!! It soft as a dream, the pleats make it looks cute and you dont have to worrry about wrinkles! It held up to my crazy tossing and turning sleeping and the antics of my pup and cat.

Old one is still fully functional and held up nicely, I’m only replacing because I needed a new color. 10/10 would recommend and will continue to buy until they discontinue!!!.

I have a pre pre teen as she calls it. She had stated she no longer wanted character comforter. This comforter is perfect for her. The soft blush color is beautiful, it’s very elegant looking, pictures doesn’t do it justice.

Returned this because it was dirty/stained. My daughter wanted a jersey cotton comforter and this looked like a winner. Also not the best quality-filling was lumpy. It was not expensive so I’m not all all surprised with the poor quality but I was not expecting it to arrive in bad condition.

It did arrive very quickly and the matching sheets are great. Not ordering the comforter again. Returning at the store took forever! I really feel bad for the employees as the computer system seems not to allow for quick and easy returns.

No issues when washed and dryed on delicate cycle. King size fit our king size bed, so not sure why someone else thinks it runs small. We have the grey one and no issues with color when we washed it also! It’s not that heavy, like my ink ivy comforter set so we are very pleased with this since we live in Florida and don’t need anything super heavy! We love it!.

I was reluctant as I have never purchased a down/feather comforter before. I gave it a shot though and was pleasantly surprised. The cover does have that crunchy sound. I got over it. The filling seemed sparse but I crawled under it and fell in love.

It is lightweight but warm. I did add a light quilt for the winter and to protect the comforter. I originally bought the full size and am now thinking of purchasing the twin size. I would recommend this to those thinking of purchasing this.

I would also like to add that although dry cleaning is recommended it was not practical for me. So, having a front loading washing machine I tossed in there and it came out beautifully, also dried well.

So who would have thought a down and feather blend comforter would be right for summer? Wayfair did, and it’s perfect. Not too heavy or hot, but enough to feel a bit of “comforting” weight. If I add a blanket under the duvet, it will probably swing into winter just fine.

Lightweight but still puffy once expanded from the compressed packaging. Breathable! We slept nice and cozy and not gross and sweaty. Only complaint is it is a bit noisy in our linen duvet cover. Overall would buy again, the price for quality is good.

My bedding was due for an upgrade and it was time for a new down comforter. I need warmth but breathability in case I get a little heated, so down alternative seemed like possibly less of a match. So I went ahead a chose this luxe goose down comforter.

I was concerned it might be a little too warm based on some reviews, but it’s actually perfect for me. Full and fluffy, but also light as air. It feels weighted enough to help me sleep, but I never feel overheated.

It traps my warmth and keeps me warm, but if I overheat, there’s enough air to keep me from getting too warm. That’s the power of high fill, high quality goose down. Very self regulating. It’s amazing.

And just in time for the chilly fall nights. Add the linen duvet set and the percale sheets, and my bed is a perfectly comfy cloud of white and sand. Love it!.

This is our first duvet. We looked at a lot of duvets online and read a lot of reviews before making our decision to go with the Quince All season Premium Down Alternative. In addition to good reviews, we wanted something that was washable and had a baffle box stitching/construction (most of the down alternative duvets we looked at did not have a baffle box stitching/construction).

We also wanted something that wasn’t ridiculously priced because we were having to look for a duvet cover to put it in (Our duvet was on sale at the time of purchase). The duvet arrived – it is very soft.

We almost did not want to put it in a cover (but we did). The way it looks on the bed is so inviting and it feels great when one is under it. We are very pleased with our purchase!.

This comforter is just what I have been looking for. Several years ago, I purchased a comforter cover, but made the mistake of purchasing a cheaper insert from another retailer. Since that time I have frequently had problems with the insert shifting to the bottom of the comforter cover “envelop” during the night.

Needless to say that was extremely frustrating, but this comforter was a great solution. The weight is not too heavy as fall begins, but not so light that it can’t keep me comfortable on most nights without additional blankets.

The cotton cover is smooth and the stitching prevents the “shifting” problem. There are variety of colors (I chose the Mariner Blue) and the price is reasonable enough to allow someone to purchase more than one, if they want color options.

It looks great and seems to be high quality and I hope to enjoy it for many years.

I am a warm sleeper. Although I won’t be able to use this in the summer, it’s fine for the other three seasons. The filling is nice and fluffy. And, I haven’t seen any loose feathers since removing it from its packaging.

I have a California King bed and wanted a comforter that would be long enough to cover sufficiently. Not all King/Cal King comforters are truly sized for Cal King beds. The generous size of this “King” comforter leaves about 12 inches over the sides and10 inches over the bottom of the bed when pulled up to the top.

There is plenty of coverage. The only caveat being that the 107″ x 98″ size created a challenge in finding a cover that would fit. LLBean covers measure 107″ x 96″. I ended up buying an oversized king cover from another site that was 120″ x 98″ and cut/sewed it to fit.

I’m sure the LLBean cover would have worked but it would have reduced the width by 2 inches and I wanted to be sure to get as much coverage as possible. Regardless of that, I do love my new comforter, even considering the high price tag.

You get what you pay for!.

We let our Vermont home get down to 55 degrees overnight, so this wonderful comforter replaced 3 blankets and a cheap comforter, which makes me much happier. I got the Baffle-box Stitch model to avoid the cold spots you get with the stitch-through, so it’s evenly warm that way.

I think I’m sleeping much better now, better temperature and I’m not constantly fighting with all the layers. But the description said the edge sections have less down, which we also wanted: 1) so it’s less likely to pull itself off the bed, and 2) so my wife (who sleeps warm during part of the night) can use just the edge section to have a layer without being too hot.

Unfortunately, the edges don’t seem tapered (or it’s not wide enough to notice), so both problems happen. When the comforter hangs off the foot of the bed, the down seems to shift to it, which gets really heavy and pulls the comforter down off us some.

On the other hand, our 2 goldens REALLY love sleeping with us now (which is a plus and a minus)!.

My very old and favorite comforter could no longer be repaired and finally needed replacement. I looked at many many new comforters, but they were not the same as my 80’s slick thick comfy. I found several big box store discounted comforters, but they were not of the proper thickness or ‘feel’.

This comforter is exactly what I wanted with a modern update of better liner material. It generates minimum static, so it is not a lint magnet. I love it, the price is fantastic for it’s thickness and material.

It came vacuum packed and once I cut open the plastic bag, I was amazed by the thickness and feel. I put it in the dryer on air fluff and after 20 minutes this comforter was poofed up and ready to keep my comfy.

Very pleased with this product. I have had many in the past before and they would jumble up and not lay flat. It fit perfectly in my new duvet I received for Christmas! I just moved to a very cold town and this is perfect for where we are living.

There’s nothing to it. I would hardly consider this product to be a comforter. I think sheet would be a better description. not what I pictured but I guess u get what u pay for if ur looking for an ultra light comforter this is the one for ya.

I love the comforter. I love the fabric and the steel is very soft. It is good in the summer and winter which is very important.

I was very disappointed in the Reese comforter. I was so excited when I purchased this and it was beautiful! Yet, first time it was washed by the cleaners the batting pulled and balled toward the center of the piece and no matter what I do to try to get it back to the edges it does not go.

Poor quality in that aspect and very disappointed as I expected more of a quality purchase.

I originally bought this for a guest room and loved it so much I put it in my bedroom. The bright white background makes a statement and I love that it has gray, mustard and salmon in it. It allows me to bring out the salmon color with pillows and throws for the summer and the gray in winter months.

Has a great texture to it to hide any marks my dog might make when he jumps on it.

This comforter is beautiful! This comforter is really only useful outside of Summer because it’s so thick and warm. I wish it was a duvet cover instead or was also offered as a duvet cover so the filling could be removed allowing it to be on the bed year round.

I think the sale price is fitting for this King comforter but anything over $25. 00 is not. It is soft but very thin. The stitching is very iffy too. The comforter also runs small/Queen. I do like the color Platinum, however.

Very nice! I’m essentially just using the comforter for extra bed padding or an additional cover at bedtime.

After the first time I washed it, the cotton in the individual “squares” all bunched together. It looks very clumpy. I tried really hard to salvage it, but it was ruined after the one wash. I continued to use it and have washed it a few more times (hoping it would magically get fixed), but it just got worse and worse.

I do not recommend!.

The comforter arrived nicely packed. As my daughter will be taking it to college with her in a very cold climate, she of course wanted to open it and check it out. We removed it from the package and wrapped it around my daughter.

At first glance I thought it was awfully thin and light. Not for long! The more we moved it the fuller it became. The bedding is fluffy and a nice weight. Perfect for a Wisconsin winter. I definitely recommend.

Very soft and thick comforter. It was just what I was looking for! I ordered the king size for my queen size bed as I’d like my comforter to reach the floor. It’s still pretty wrinkled but that’s to be expected.

I live in Michigan, so the weather is cold here a good part of the year. This may be a little heavy for summer. The pillow shams are very nice also, but I think I could use a little bigger pillows to go into my standard shams.

Beautiful light fluffy quilt.. gorgeous pastel pattern and soft silky fabric.. we ordered the whole set! NOTE, it arrives very wrinkled from the tight bag, and we had it steamed to smooth it.
