Since our couch backs up to the room and not a side wall, this is the first thing i see when i walk in the room, and it drives me crazy. i am working on a way to cover it up. – The handles on the side of the couch to make the chair recline are plastic (not metal).

I hope they dont break, but i assume they will at some point bc plastic is rarely as strong and durable as metal.

Ordered to use in our small living area to replace a non reclining loveseat! Very comfortable! It had a small cut area on the side by the reclining mechanism. I called and was offered 20% off if I wanted to keep it.

Since it was sitting next to end table and couldn’t be seen, that’s what I did! Very satisfied with customer service I received!.

Very good leather material and does not slip when seated as we wanted it. The reclining feature works great. Removing 1 star for the head rest not high enough, so for tall people 6 ft and above could be an issue.

Second about the delivery. They delivered two weeks after promised date. But given the sofa set itself is great, its ok since I was not in urgency of delivery. But could be problem for someone needing in time.

Love the couch and so did my dog! My dog completely chewed this armrests. So, if your dog is an agressive chewer I do not recommend. This is not chew proof. I give it 5 start because the couch is great! It is not the couches fault that my dog loves to tear everything up!.

Smaller and lower than I thought due to improper pictures but after I laid on it my dog got curious and uses it now. I curled up and almost fell asleep since its so comfortable. Overall good quality so far,, stands up to his wear and tear.

he’s not a chewer though,, just long nails. I test everything I give my dog first, he’s a big dog so if its good for me, I know its good for him.

Bought this for our senior citizen shepherd-Shasta. She loves this couch. As we all work remotely, I put it in my office next to my desk and she “sits in” on my remote meetings.

I’ve had this couch for about 6 months now. I wanted leather because we have a dog and I didn’t want to deal with dog hair embedding into fabric. Be forewarned. while the leather couch itself is holding up great to our Bulldogge that loves being on the couch with all of us.

There are a few cons you need to know: Cons: The fabric on the underside of the couch, and the backs of the cushions is a horrible type of microfiber blend that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to remove short dog hair from.

I spend about an hour every few weeks trying all the tricks (i. e. dryer sheets, sticky rolls, rubber gloves, squeegees, gadgets from Amazon to remove pet hair from carpets, vacuuming, stiff brushes to loosen the dog hair etc.

). This fabric used on the pillow backs allows the hairs to literally embed so deep there is no way to get them out. If you never lift your cushions or clean I guess you won’t be bothered – but is is gross to me.

I’ve had full-on fabric and microfiber couches in the past and never had an issue with using the tricks and tips above with getting pet hair out, especially if I kept after it on a regular cleaning routine.

I just spent another 45 minutes trying to clean the section of couch where the two pieces attach and it is STILL covered in dog hair. Its as if I owned the couch for 10 years and never lifted up a cushion.

I have no issues removing the dog hair from other furniture, steps or carpet – so it is definitely whatever fabric type they are using for the back of the cushions and the frame underside of the couch.

I think it we had a long hair dog with fluffy hair it wouldn’t be so bad, but if you have a short hair dog – be forewarned, the back side of the cushions and underside of the couch is going to be ruined in a few months with embedded dog hair you won’t be able to remove.

Pro: We got the midnight blue leather one. Its a gorgeous rich color that goes well with everything. The leather does not show dog nail scratches. The cushions are firm, yet super comfortable and are holding up well.

The couch is sturdy and looks great.

Keep a close eye when you read all of these reviews about this couch. People are just leaving reviews the second that they get the couch and hardly any of them have had the couch longer than a year. I bought this couch genuinely hoping that I’d have it for at least 8-10 years.

It was quite an investment for me and honestly I don’t know how long it’ll last considering it’s been 1 year and 2 months and it feels like you’re sitting on the wood plank underneath. The cushions are so saggy as well, to the point of no return.

No matter how much I fluff, they still sag. I thought it would get more comfortable with age, maybe I would have to break it in I thought. But it just keeps getting worse. The leather itself is wonderful, but my couch is falling apart, and getting more uncomfortable each day.

Liking my new couch! Only issues are- Plastic cupholders aren’t glued on well, it fell off immediately. The storage drawer is a bit smaller than expected, I had hoped it would hold blankets but it’s more for remotes and controllers.

Calling this material velvet is a stretch- I ordered velvet because my cats won’t claw it, but this is definitely not a true velvet. So far they haven’t scratched it so I hope this continues.

The quality of the Sven Charme Tan Sofa has been a double-disappointment because I made the mistake and bought TWO. It is not a defect in materials or workmanship, nor is it damage from transport; it’s the defect in quality- or rather: a quality deficiency.

Pretty cheaply made. I loved the style! You would think that mine would have held up better than the bad reviews because I bought 2 in hopes to double the longevity and outlast normal wear and tear. NOT SO.

An average lifespan of a couch is 7-15 years, but my Article Lifespan has been <3 years-- for 2 sofas in the SAME living room, (just throwing in: I splurged when the kids went off to college, and my husband and I are of average build, so that you know our sofas have had less that normal wear and tear.

) Delivery was excellent despite the wait time to receive the sofa. The initial look out of the box was amazing but, the bolster pillows were halfway stuffed so I restuffed them after delivery. Then after 2 months, the structure of the cushions started to compress and flop over, down the middle horizontally, so you can imagine how they looked after one year.

I ended up restuffing the back pillows with sturdier foam cushions and down pillows so that the couches would look a bit more neat and streamlined and not so messy. That bought me a few extra months but because the cushions are made of thin, unlined leather, they were easy to stretch and bunch into permanent creases, despite “fluffing everyday”.

I was expecting casual just not frumpy and slouchy. I also put several 3 inch strips of heavy duty velcro under the large seat cushions because they slid around and left big 4 inch gaps on either side (and still, dip in the middle).

You will need to pretreat this leather – condition it and buff it to a shine so that it wears evenly. Otherwise you will have nicely burnished bits in places and matte, rough leather on the unworn parts because it is dry as a bone and will soak up the tiniest drop of moisture.

It would have been nice if the back pillows and the main seat were covered on both sides since they were upholstered with zippers and are moveable and separate. That way, if the insides and covers are so inferior, you can flip them in addition to rotating them.

Both sofas look like they are 20 years old already. The size and dimension is good and the bones are sturdy. I just wish the leather and cushions lived up to the quality I expected. After the time, effort and cost of making these couches “do” for the last three years, the only thing I can afford is have these couches reupholstered.

–since I’m hoping the frames should at least last another 3 years. These pictures are taken at their best when they are just fluffed and the seats are repositioned so the gaps at the ends are not so prominent.

I purchased my sofa around two years ago and was initially very pleased with the purchase. The delivery guys were excellent and the sofa was beautiful in those first months. That said, the long-term quality has been very disappointing in the time since.

The main cushion offers very little support and over time has flattened out significantly, making it extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The cushions and bolster pillows are also constantly losing feathers and have completely lost their shape.

A friend of mine purchased a couch around the same time I got my Article couch and while my sofa is now in a sad state, hers still looks basically brand new (and she has a 6 year old and dog wearing and tearing on hers to boot).

I wrote to Article to let them know how disappointed I was that my purchase barely lasted two years, and their response was to condescendingly tell me that I must not be taking care of it properly or perhaps I sit on my couch too much (oh, and they offered to sell me a new main cushion for $450.

lol). I’ve had the couch professionally cleaned twice, fluff the cushions once a week since I purchased it, and have carefully followed the instructions I was given on how to care for the couch and velvet fabric.

And yes Article, I sit on my couch. because. that is what it is for. The fact that I have watched several friends’ couches stand the test of time in real time (and stand the test of jumping children too, which I don’t have) really pushed me over the edge to write this review.

Despite all my best efforts to take excellent care of this couch, it is clearly just a poor product or perhaps it is a show couch for a house with no one in it. I hope others are very wary before they purchase.

As the first new couch I have ever purchased, I am sad to say it will be going to the curb after only two years. So wasteful on so many levels and disappointing. Off to order a new couch now.

Many, many of the reviews here are posted soon after buying the Sven couch and the reviewers give great feedback. I have had this couch for ~5 years, and while I agree that this is an excellent piece of furniture right out-of-the-box, I have not been pleased with how it has held up.

The leather has aged nicely, but the coating is not of the highest-quality, and it will respond negatively to stains. Off the shelf cleaner won’t remove or buff out your basics (coffee, chocolate, blue stains from new jeans, etc), but they will weather over time.

The pillows are also nice, but have lost some shape–which I feel is to be expected. However, the polyurethane foam bottom cushion is of poor quality. The cushion has deformed and lost its spring/bounce over time.

There is a clear/noticeable dip in the cushion where the foam has compressed and does not bounce back. I weigh 140 lbs, and I live alone. I do not have pets, and I do not place heavy objects on the couch.

I do not sleep on the couch. The foam isn’t the best quality. To replace it, Article will sell you the ENTIRE foam + leather cover, which is insane, because the foam is the cheap part, and it is unreasonable to expect that someone would want brand new leather on one part of their couch, which will of course have a different color and appearance than the rest.

To me, this is a poor customer service attempt at a resolution. Maybe I need to recalibrate my expectations, but I don’t think ~5 years is an unreasonably long amount of time for a $2000 couch to hold up.

Overall, very nice for a few years under “light use”, but I think you would be disappointed with the cushion sag issue if you were using this couch intensively.

Our Austin leather loveseat had an informative delivery system, very impressive. It is SO comfortable and firm/supportive. I’m praying it stays this way! The stitching is beautiful. only have had it a month, but satisfied so far!.

My love seat & chair are beautiful. The two men who delivered them were fantastic. It was so hot that day and even in the heat they both had smiles on their faces. I added white glove and it was so worth it.

First – for the sofa: Looks great in the photos online. The actual sofa has fabric that is loose, rippled, and made from very thin cheap materials. The couch cushions are somewhat soft (of average comfort) if you sit in the middle of the cushion.

Anywhere near the edge of a cushion and it is extremely first and uncomfortable. This sofa is comparable to the cheapest junk you can find on wayfair, but priced and marketed well above that. On to the customer service: Kardiel advertises a “365 day returns policy” What they really mean is that you will get approximately 50% of the purchase price back if you jump through all their hoops of packing it yourself, taking photos.

And they wont tell you how much you get back until they have your sofa. If they decide your sofa is not in the condition they would like? They will just give you even less than 50% and you still wont have a sofa.

Avoid kardiel at all costs. I recently returned a piece of furniture to costco – no restocking fee, no return shipping fee, no packing myself. Same thing with Joybird. Do yourself a favor an shop with reputable retailer, not Kardiel who operates like a 10 person shop with a website that is dropshipping junk across the pacific.

Overall not worth the price tag, feels Ikea like, and wish I would’ve waited for a C&B couch instead. Purchased because it was ready to ship and received about 5 days after purchasing. Green velvet is on the darker side so you only see it green in day light, otherwise it looks more grey-ish.

It is very firm, which I don’t mind, but it isn’t comfy to lounge in (nap) for long periods of time. After having for two months, pillows are misshaped and because of the firmness, it is almost impossible to fluff.

The couch assembly took hours due to the fact that there were no pre drilled holes to attach the connecting pieces. I needed a drill and drill bit in order to make my own holes- I HAD TO DRILL INTO MY OWN BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE COUCH- absolutely frustrating and ridiculous.

The contraption that’s supposed to keep the two pieces of the couch together does not do that so the pieces keep sliding off and I have to constantly push them together. Also very annoying.

My husband and I did SO MUCH research trying to find the perfect sectional. Wanting something modern but also comfy is not easy to find! I had this sectional bookmarked for months but we ended up purchasing one from somewhere else because we were scared to buy something we couldn’t sit on first.

WELL, that turned into a 5 month long fiasco waiting and waiting for a couch that never came. So I hustled back over to this site & after a super helpful chat with a Kardiel customer service agent I purchased this beauty and AM SO RELIEVED.

We fell asleep on it twice in the first week we had it, so for me that passed the ultimate comfy test. Plus it looks gorgeous in our mid-century modern home. Could not love this piece more!.

Are you honestly only allowing *only* the product vs. the experience to be the judge of your brand??? This has a direct impact on how I will view any Crate&Barrel review going forward. I tried to be honest about the product; but cannot honestly separate the overall experience from my impressions and feedback.

Every time we attempted to sit on it, we found ourselves on the floor with bruises on our hind ends — some sort of design flaw, I guess. _________________________________ Once we finally got our hands on it – the sofa is awesome.

high quality, right size. The delivery experience was laughable/dismal. Ghosted once, no-showed once, showed up three-days after confirmation once, and no day-before or 30-minute prior phone call for any of them – including the 4th (successful!) delivery attempt.

I get logistics can be hard, but at least give the customer the courtesy of a heads up if things change.

Since my last review, the Wells Apartment sofa has lost a star. The side arm pillows do not stay up. This wouldn’t be so bad if they were all leather, but the black nylon back makes it an issue. It also tends to slide forward and off the sofa when seated.

This should have been ironed out in the studio, designers. I have a few suggestions: embed a couple of magnets in the pillow and arm so the pillow stays up; add a flat base to the side pillow so it wants to stay upright.

I have currently sewn a concealed loop at the seams connecting the pillow to the arm. Ok for now.

Sitting in this sofa is like sitting on a super slider – as soon as you move even a little, the seat cushions slide out from underneath you and stretch out like a sleeper sofa. The side pillows, if they stay on the sofa, will be lying on their sides, usually the black nylon one.

The sofa looks great, and we really tried to make it work, but short of using velcro tape on the leather (which obviously isn’t an option), the sofa is a bust. Don’t buy it.

Leather Italia USA only deals with vendors not customers. If you have a defect your only recourse is the furniture store where you bought the leather furniture. If you don’t purchase the extended warranty, you are out of luck.

I purchased two love seats and a big chair. The leather on one love seat is deteriorating, faded blotches, discoloration. Leather USA is unresponsive and they DO NOT CARE. We only had this furniture for less than two years.

I love the sofa and loveseat I purchased. The only negative was that it took much longer to arrive then I was told. The delivery company had ongoing issues. be prepared to wait longer for your product to arrive.

The color definitely has a brown hue. It’s well made and pretty comfortable.

The furniture is very comfortable and sturdy. Love the colors and stitching. As for the delivery. It’s advertised with white glove delivery which means taking it out of the packaging and setting it up.

That’s definitely not the case. I had a delivery window the first time of 4 hours which was canceled that same day due to the delivery truck breaking down. The second time the delivery window was from 9am-5pm.

The delivery showed up at 4:45. The driver told me that they didn’t have any record of a white glove delivery and literally left the dirty boxes inside my new home which scratched paint off when squeezing the boxes through my front door frame and making a mess of my floors.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the whole delivery experience. I wrote an email about the delivery service and have yet to hear from BJ’s with an explanation.

Buying furniture online is always tricky. You can’t touch or feel it, can’t sit on it and so you just don’t know what you’re gonna get, especially when there are no reviews online. I took a gamble and bought this set because I was desperate for furniture and the price was right.

I am SO thankful I took that chance! They are a great value and I’m expecting them to hold up for a long time. They are plush and comfy to sit on. The leather is supple but still strong enough that my dogs haven’t managed to scratch them yet.

🤞🏻 They are a bit bigger than I had anticipated but still fit well within my family room. My only “complaint” is that I’m 5’4″ and my feet don’t touch the ground when I sit on them. But that’s easily solved by simply reclining them a bit, which gives me a foot rest.

Everyone who has sat on them loves them. Great value for a terrific price (I bought it on sale). Delivery was quick and flawless too. Each piece comes apart (the back separates from the bottom) to make it easier to move and transport as needed.

I’m extremely happy with my purchase. Ps, the color says it’s charcoal gray or something. as you can see in my pics below, they have a slight blue hue to them, which worked perfectly in my room. In certain light they look blacker or browner.

When first delivered they looked espresso. Regardless, they are a great color.

I was hesitant about placing an order for this furniture especially after shopping all of the stores near by and their prices for non leather sofa and love seat. I am so glad I took a chance! The leather is so soft and the seating is comfortable.

We went to Dock looking at fabric furniture to replace our old faux leather furniture in our 4 season porch. When my wife and I sat on this piece, it changed everything and we immediately changed our minds.

It’s extremely comfortable, genuine leather where you can see and robust so should certainly hold up long term. We also bought the loveseat to go with it and couldn’t be happier. They’re both very spacious too and can accommodate laying down comfortably on either.

Highly recommend! We have 2 couches and our sectional now from Dock 86, and have never been disappointed.

It’s not the exact same as the Beamerton I had. I replaced the couch but my chair and ottoman were still in good shape. Now the leather and the feet don’t match the new sofa. As for the couch, it’s good.

I wish the cushions could be flipped (couble sided) so that when a cushion starts to lose it’s loftiness you could flip it over.

We were looking for a more supportive sofa after living with our “slouch couch” for far too long. The Louis Leather Sofa was exactly what we needed. Very supportive, yet still soft and comfortable. The leather and stitching and construction are top notch.

I’m 6’3″ and its long enough for me to stretch out comfortably. It came with 2 large throw pillows that match perfectly. It sits high, which is great for me, but might be too high for some. Very happy with this purchase.
