20 Best Leather Bag For Men (2023 Updated)

Although the Bellroy Venture sling has some thoughtful organizational features and I wanted to love it, surprisingly, the clip used to attach the carrying strap to the body seems to be made of thin, flimsy plastic.

When simply slipping on the sling for the first time (empty), the clip snapped, leaving it useless for carrying. Since the other end of the strap is permanently attached to the body, it’s not a simple matter of swapping it out, so this was an instant return—and a search for a more durable product from a different brand.

It’s hard to understand why a stronger, better designed part wasn’t used, as this felt cheap in a product that wasn’t. Also of note is that because of the Venture’s design, even when the main compartment is zipped fully closed, there are still gaps/openings at the ends of the sling, which means that small, loose items inside can fall out.

This isn’t something you should ever need to worry about in an EDC product. For the reasons mentioned above, I cannot recommend the Bellroy Venture sling.

I really wasn’t sure I was a sling kind of guy. But I hate having things in my pockets, so I thought I’d give this a try. Bottom line: it’s a keeper. The pocket on the front has a few slots for cards, but is big enough to told my iPhone Pro Max, as well.

The pocket that faces in forward the body is much larger, with plenty of room for a card wallet, keys, a hand sanitizer and more. There’s even a microfiber-lined zippered pocket in this compartment specifically for your sunglasses.

Technically I could fit two pairs of glasses in there. Turns out, I’m a sling guy after all. As long as it’s this Bellroy option.

Slings are great because they force you to be mindful of what you carry with you. This one will accomodate a phone, keys and a fairly slim wallet. Sometimes this is enough. Bellroy make exceptionally fine products and this is no exception.

If you need to take reading glasses and or tissues, sanitiser, mask etc. and don’t want to play Tetris fitting everything in, perhaps size up. I am so pleased Miligram stocks a good selection of Bellroy products.

Bought as a gift for my partner and we both love it! The space saving pockets and secure Zips are wonderful uses of bag technology! The robust material on the handles make it so it doesn’t slip off your shoulder constantly, it’s a beautiful size for a trip out and hold everything you need.

The bag was exactly as described. Sadly I haven’t used it for travel yet, but have used it going to a study day where I needed to take lunch, clothing layers, book, umbrella etc & there was plenty of room for everything.

Love the key ring feature, so you don’t have to empty the bag to find your keys at the bottom! I chose the Limestone colour & love it.

I would like to know what to expect out of the durability and longevity of this satchel. The only reference I can find is a social media post where buffalo leather is hashtagged with this product. I am going to assume it’s buffalo unless I am told otherwise.

The Kodiak Satchel I bought on black friday has held up very well over the last couple months, I have received a lot of compliments about it. I was kind of torn between this bag and the messenger bag because the satchel looks a lot better but the snaps are far more convenient than the buckles to open but I knew this when purchasing it.

The adjustable strap is nice but I do have a hard time keeping it fastened so at times the rest of the strap that I dont use can flap about. Other than that though its great quality looks great and I look forward to using it for years to come.

Perfect shoulder bag for my travel. I have been looking for a bag to keep passport and visa docs for all of my family while traveling. This bag is perfect for it. Also the shoulder strap help me to carry it safely.

I had to give in to the murse. the (possibly) dreaded man purse. I’m a type one diabetic and have stuff. lots of stuff that, as a responsible diabetic, I really need to carry at all times. And, surprise, surprise, most diabetic themed products are a little, no offense intended, geriatric.

As in no style, no flavuh flave. instead smacking of, “I’d rather have diabetes than carry this. ” It took a few tries at different satchels to get the right size, but if you want a smaller-than-messenger bag, but bigger than just-for-a-wallet-and-sunglasses kinda deal, this is it.

The leather is fantastic, and the over-all craftsmanship is superb. And the design, along with the charcoal color (for my tastes) is masculine to the point that I won’t feel metrosexual carrying this around.

And Rustico has proven itself to be a fantastic company to work with.

I love this bag and I have never received more compliments in my life!!! I have this satchel in burgundy and use it as my everyday purse. Aside from two small pieces of hardware on the bottom sides of the bag, it is all leather.

I love that there is nothing taking away from the raw beauty of the leather. It is simple, elegant, and only gets more character over time. The size is perfect to fit all of my daily essentials (and a little more).

There is a simple flap pocket inside for me to keep lip balm or any other small item that I don’t want falling to the bottom of the bag and there a larger flap pocket on the outside of the bag for anything I want quick access to (I typically keep my phone in this pocket).

The strap is perfect length to fit cross-body comfortably. I especially love the cross-body strap when needing to wear it in large crowds such as the Arts Festivals, Farmers Market, or any other shopping.

The strap is comfortable and I never have to worry about accidentally dropping my bag. I feel comfortable wearing this bag to all occasions. The leather is elegant and classy for nice dinners or work functions; along with the leather holding up well for any outdoor functions or park visits.

I live this Sachel! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. Aside from the look it’s huge, I was manly worried about the size thinking I’d be quite small. I was wrong. The leather feels amazing and I will definitely order again.

Very nice bag for the cost. Would have like more smaller compartments and strap on back of bag to slide over luggage handle to secure bag while traveling.

The leather is really nice. Everything is sewn well, and holds up perfectly. Only feedback is that some seems are not straight, or sewn a few times over. Also not everything is the same size (the straps for the small pockets have different width, as an example).

From a distance invisible. We are used to having everything perfect, made with laser guided cutting machines and robot sewing machines to get the same product over and over. This bag is handwork, made by people.

I gladly accept these small imperfections and adjust my expectations. Actually I appreciate that this was made by real people, and I proudly explain this to others. And if I would need another bag, I would buy another one here, rather than at a big box outlet, that sells mass-produced product.

High hopes this would be a great work bag, couldn’t use until it sat in spare room for two weeks due to strong chemical odor. Noticed recently the dye used had rubbed off on 4 pair of $60 dress slacks the dry cleaner can’t remove.

Out $240 plus cost of bag. Sellers response, sorry! Now ill have to have local leather shop work bag over so no more dye stains on anything else. Worst ebay purchase I’ve made by far.

The product has unique value being vintage and all. I like the concept of helping simple leather entrepreneurs in Developing country. I just wish the leather can be processed to the level thats less smell.

I bought this for my new Lenovo, unfortunately the tablet I bought was this year’s model. Its 11in tall. While it fits in bag, I do not wish to ruin such a lovely satchel. So. When I want to carry bag, I use this for purse.

I love!! I have the large double zip leather coach wallet, I can put this in flight bag, plus glasses case, small medicine carriers, and cigarette case. Not overfilled. The zipper area is wonderful for my keys, no searching! The side pocket holds my Notephone & Ipod in cases without problem, and again no overfilled look! Great bag! I would use for iPads, but makes.

Got for Christmas 2021 from my husband. I have other coach bags but this is my first of this style. I’m rough on everything. He told me to USE it lol, to not worry about being extra careful & to just enjoy it.

It’s the perfect size for all the necessities – lots of pockets to stay organized. The exterior pocket fits my iPhone 13pro max with ease. The strap is adjustable & tough. Used & abused 9 months and looks new still!! Love love love this bag- looks good with everything from workout clothes to ripped jeans & Harley boots on the motorcycle.

Pros: Crossbody/good size Cons: zippers are scratchy/rough, no inside zipper so things get stuck in inside pockets/open I like the size/length, and I’m 5’1 so other bags I’ve tried are too long/hang low and big but this is much smaller.

it still holds my larger wallet, essentials. I needed crossbody, hands free and the step is fine. My biggest complaint is the rough zippers. They aren’t smooth and I’m not sure why they would choose these as they will need to be opened often.

Desk was not deep enough for my needs. So it is in the corner of my office slowly acquiring random stuff lol. The desk is decent for the price. I tried to use it and with a 6 monitor stand on it it was way too too heavy if I pushed back from the desk it would start to fall over.

Luckily I was able to catch it before it fell over as that would have been an expensive mistake. For the average person with a single monitor (maybe 2) set up it should be fine for your needs.

The desk is terrific! It was easy to assemble and quality of desk top was really nice thickness and size. packaged really well too. This desk is VERY reasonably priced. I’d argue it could be double the price that it was.

This Desk was perfect!! It matches the dresser and night stand that I already had. Perfect addition to the set. It is well made, easy to assemble and the price was good! I definitely recommend this item.

This is an absolutely stunning croc embossed satchel. The photo makes it look like there is a bit of a shine/gloss to it but there isn’t. Totally matte finish. Classic legacy handbag! Its a fairly large bag with room inside for pretty much anything you need to carry.

The hardware is beautiful. I love the exterior zipped pocket and the leather pull is a nice added feature. I am not a fan of the multiple studs on the bottom. I most certainly want a satchel with feet but I prefer four standard feet as opposed to the multiple ones on this bag.

I also am not a fan of the removable pouch. While it seems very secure snapped into place, I would have preferred an actual interior pocket (attached). Some though may love the idea of having a “second” bag to carry when you don’t need to carry as much.

To me, the bag is much to big for the shoulder strap but some may like that look. Its gorgeous either way and will be beautiful for a lifetime.

This bag is stunning, but the clasp is an irritant. There’s nothing quick about it. To close and secure the bag with only paper stuffing inside I found myself fumbling with the clasp. For me it’s definitely a two handed close to secure it.

When I tried putting in minimalist wallet, phone, lipstick (which all fit comfortably BTW), I fumbled even more. The internal part of the clasp visible in the photo sticks out which is awkward as well, and I’m not too sure how that sticking out part will last over use.

A magnetic closure or flap with magnet would have been so much better. Alas, at this price point I need to love it. It’s going back to Nordstrom. Salvatore – everything is awesome on this bag BUT that clasp.

Back to the drawing board on that feature.

This little bag fits your phone, keys, lipstick, a pair of driving gloves, and a passport/ notebook just fine. The yellow here is a muted mustard yellow and not at all the bright sunshine yellow that is shown.

What I like about the color is that you can wear it with a black or brown or grey coat in the fall/winter and pull it off. You can wear it in the summer and it works great. The clasp is easy once you know how to do it.

Pull the clasp down to open the bag and pull it back up into the square that sticks out to close it.

I’ve been looking for a summer bag I can use as a belt bag – and this is perfect. The color is neutral without it being the usual black or brown color. It is also made of such quality material that you know you spent your money on something worthy.

The smooth leather usual makes me nervous for an every day bag – but this is pretty resistant to scratches. And it looks so good on.

The good: the bag does appear to be made of full grain water buffalo leather, as advertised. the stitching looks to be quality with ~5 stitches per inch and there are no painted edges on the leather (appears to be fully tanned all the way through).

the canvas lining is also nice – the leather is definitely tough, but i always appreciate a lined bag. Finally, the color of the bag is fairly true to the photos & there isn’t an overwhelming leather smell.

The bad: first, when i spend north of $300 on a leather bag that’s built by a company that prides itself on being rugged and durable – It annoys me to no end that the zippers on the bag are not ykk. When the bag arrived in the mail, the teeth on the interior zipper had actually SEPARATED.

easy enough to zip open and back closed to fix – but it’s crazy that higher quality zippers aren’t used. Second, the warranty on this bag (and all buffalo jackson products) is significantly below par for the price point they charge.

As opposed to other brands that are so confident in their bags that they offer 100 year warranties – a 1 year warranty on a bag that you “buy for life” doesn’t instill confidence in long term durability or quality.

third, and this is a PREFERENTIAL thing, i’m not a huge fan of the exterior pockets using buckles to close as opposed to a snap or magnet. Some of BUFFALO Jackson’s DUFFLE bags utilize this design and it looks/works great – i think it would really elevate this bag if they INCORPORATED it in this design.

Fourth is the sheer number of brass fasteners on this bag. For example, on the straps that close the exterior pockets. They are only held in place by a single brass fastener and not stitched at all. I absolutely see this as a potential area for failure and i intend to have these straps reinforced with stitching.

Finally, and arguably most important, buffalo jackson is branded as a classic american heritage company, but their bags are not made in america. That’s fine, as quality and geography aren’t NECESSARILY CORRELATED, but if you simply search “leather pilot bag” on ebay, you can find a plethora of results from sellers in india (where this bag is manufactured) that are labeled as “unbranded pilots bags”.

They use the same photos as buffalo JAckson does, and the description is almost exactly the same. I reached out to one of these manufactures to ask if the bag was full grain water buffalo leather, and completely unsolicited they said “it’s the exact same bag as buffalo jackson”.

These bags are approximately $175 on ebay. so significantly cheaper. not only is it frustrating to see exactly how much of a markup you are paying, but it also really makes me DOUBT buffalo jackson had any sort of hand in the design of this bag (hence things like no ykk zippers).

i feel like they just found a bag manufacturer in india, made a visually pleasing website, and marked up the bag 200%. my advice? save up and pay the higher price to go with a company who actually designs their bags & really spares no expense to put out a high-end product.

Great bag! I loved the bag. Seriously! BUT. you guys need to look at your manufacturing processes and the hardware you are using. I returned the bag. You have extremely tough, nearly saddle grade hide you’re using in the bag – leather that can nearly withstand a nuclear issue – and linking it together with third rate brass snap rivets – that aren’t even correctly seated.

They don’t hold well. I bought the bag to withstand the rigors of my profession and travel. It didn’t make the maiden voyage without hardware failure. I recommend copper – or brass – with burrs that need to be peened into position.

You are currently using those rivets on your waxed canvas backpacks – which I purchased to replace the Roosevelt Leather Pilot Bag.

Solid craftsmanship and classic. Incredible attention to detail. Simply the buckle on the hand straps to make one handle piece was impressive. Very thick leather and quality, excellent grain. So impressed when I grab the handle and make my way about.

It’s a beautiful bag, sophisticated finish and detailing. I bought it for overnights and weekend trips, and it’s the perfect size. The oxblood color is accurately portrayed on the website and looks great, as does the pebbled texture.

The email updates on the fabrication and craftspeople were a nice bonus, made the whole experience feel bespoke. Bought a matching Dopp kit as well, and am happy with all.

This bag is exceptional in all ways– looks (classy), workmanship (exceptional), quality of leather (also exceptional), color choice, ease of packing, and ease of handling (even when packed full).
