Chromebattery manufactures/sells many different sla batteries. This review relates specifically to the 12V 7, 8 and 9 Ah batteries used in UPS backup systems, alarm systems, emergency lighting, and similar applications.

My experience with 12 Chromebattery 12V 7Ah sla battteries, less than four years old, is three leaked, indicating total failure. The remainder were completely worn out. The environment was ideal for sla batteries, 68-72 degrees.

They had been fully discharged about five times. In another instance, a UPS had been installed. Later, an external battery cabinet was installed to extend backup power duration. Eight (8) Chromebattery 12V 8Ah sla batteries were used in the external cabinet.

After five years the UPS and external cabinet were opened to replace the sla batteries. All of the batteries in the UPS unit were still good. One of the Chromebattery batteries in the external cabinet had leaked.

The total output should be ~48 Volts, but it was ~12V. This ups was activated on battery power about five times in five years. I also have a voltage standard that uses sla battery backup power for transportation.

The batteries it have failed in less two years, twice, using Chromebattery 6V 4. 5Ah sla batteries. It is difficult to imagine how Chromebattery still exists, if this was the whole story. Motorsports sla batteries must endure vibration and harsh environments.

So they need to be made better than backup batteries that don’t move and are indoors. However, I have ended my relationship with Chromebattery.

Reasonable shipping time. Exceptional manufacturer. Packaging was ideal as were the batteries themselves. I was able to install the batteries into my Jazzy power chair immediately after opening the box as they were holding a full charge.

The batteries are performing as you would expect and I couldn’t be happier since this was the best price I could find on or off line for these. You don’t have to wonder if this is the way to go, just buy them now then relax and wait for the truck to show up.

Fully charged it when I got it and it was. sloppy sounding then. Always had a trickle on it also. If I would have known it would only last 1yr I would have looked into different options. Aggravating on my yard tractor and always when you don’t need it to be.

Decided to try this for operating a 280 watt gate opener. Looked at the online solar calculators then upsized a bit to give some margin for error and inefficiencies. Read that a solar panel can still deliver 10-20% of it’s capacity on a cloudy day so oversized the panel hoping that even with clouds the battery would be charged.

That has worked to some extent but the battery doesn’t get fully charged if there is heavy cloud cover. So far the system is working like a champ! Guess we shall see a year from now. Supposed to have a years warranty on the battery so expecting at least that.

OK. I put this battery on a Battery Tender and made sure it was fully charged and took it out for an on-the-water test today. Kayak is a 14 foot ATAK Wilderness and trolling motor is a MinnKota endure 30 (30lb.

thrust five forward speeds) Ran boat at full speed setting for 15 mins. then varied setting for two hours while fishing a 150 acer. impoundment. THEN had to make a 3 1/2 mile run back to the dock into a 15 mph headwind.

A mile before making it back the motor started to lose power and I had to paddle the last 1/4 mile. Without the headwind deal,Conclusion is battery would have been fine for a 3 or four hour fishing trip with an hour of that at full speed setting and the rest at 1 thru 4 settings in a CANOE or KAYAK.

I would get a group24 or 27 for a johnboat or aluminium simivee hull. A Pontoon boat?? No Way! If weight is not an issue,pass on this little guy.

Don’t buy these batteries!!!! We had the batteries less than four months and the mobility scooter started dying suddenly. The batteries would go from a full charge down to no charge at all. We took it in for repairs and we’re charged over $500 for labor and parts and the scooter still kept dying suddenly.

We ended up having to buy a new scooter. Our brother bought these same batteries and in less than four months he started having these same problems with his scooter. He just had his scooter checked and they proved that the problem was these batteries.

After a lot of discussion I was given a $10 in store credit for the core. A classic flash-in-the-pan short life strong battery. I won’t be needing another of these.

I purchased this battery from my local AAP. They had four instock and all had date codes of 10-11 months old. Once I got home, I tested the battery. The results said caution, 47% life remaining. I then put a trickle charger on the battery and tested it the following day.

Result is caution, 52% life remaining. It will last me this cutting season I think, but forget getting a second year out this battery. Had I got a battery with a 1-3 month date code sticker, I would likely get two years out of it.

Basically this is a 2 year battery from the date of manufacture, not from the date of purchase.

I just bought this battery on April 23rd, 2021. It’s not working. I have to jump start it. I called the store and was told that it only has a 3 mo. warranty. If I want to pull it out and bring it in they will charge it for me, but, that is all they can do.

First of all I can’t take it out because of my wrist. I was then told to put a trickler on it. Really. This battery was only cranked approx 20 times. Hasn’t even lasted an entire summer. My last battery lasted 12 years.

I told the person that I sure hope the new car battery that I bought from them lasts a little longer. I just started shopping at this store. I think I’ll cash in my perks for free stuff and start going elsewhere.

This battery wants you to charge it with 2 little jumper cables to charge it. This is NOT practical since the battery goes into the large speaker and it has to be re-screwed into the speaker to close it.

I was very happy with the quality of the product. I would have gave it 5 stares, if it were nty for the customer service. I was very disapointed with the person at the counter when I went to pick the battery.

I relized that the battery had the positive termanal on the wrong side. ( Reguardless of what side, they retail for the same price). When I asked if I ould get the other battery with the termnals reversed, I was told they would have to charge me more because the “On-Line” price was less.

If I wanted it for the same price, I would have to cancel the order and go back home to reorder?? What happened to customer service??.

I’ve just made up my mind that $23. 00 per year for a battery is part of maintenance. If I get more than year out of one of these I consider it a bonus. Yes, I went out the other day and charged my battery to start my spring yardwork and it wouldn’t hold a charge.

Too bad for the recycling folks and landfill folks, because you know many of these will end up there. If companies built decent products it would help. I had a cordless phone battery die a few weeks ago.

I can buy a new phone with a battery cheaper than replacing the old battery. Yep, old phone and battery off to the landfill.

Used it twice. After about 5 weeks, mower wouldn’t start. Took it to autozone to test it – it was bad. Worst part is that it only has a 1 month warranty, and AutoZone won’t exchange it. Complete waste of money.
