Had to make an adapter by tapping a 5/8″-11 bolt with a 1/4″-20 thread; The adaptor works fine but the tripod is so rickety the level goes intermittent sitting on it, and the leg clamps slip and cannot hold the level up.

I am using an optical transit tripod with the right thread and very solid and easily adjusted.

This rotary laser level Is simple to setup and super easy to use. Within an hour of it arriving we had our concrete forms set for our building project and had figured out how much fill we needed for the grade on the next building.

I just got my machine. It came on time and I absolutely love it. I noticed significant tightening and shrinking of pores in just one use. Super excited. Seller is great and very nice.

We had a Brother MFC-J491DW ink jet printer that, frankly was a piece of junk and gobbled ink. We decided a laser printer would be more economical in the long run. I definitely wasn’t looking to get another Brother printer however reviews for competing brands in this price range were not good and the reviews for this printer were very good.

I decided to roll the dice on another Brother printer. We wanted a budget black and white printer that had an auto feeder and would do auto duplex printing. The initial experience with the DCP-L2550DW is very good.

It has much better, more professional administration software support. The brother utilities and Brother iPrint & Scan software are the same. The print speed is way faster than the old ink jet, just a few seconds for the first page to come out.

The auto feed and scan work smoothly and quickly too. So long as it doesn’t “eat” toner or start producing streaky pages it seems like it will be a great printer. [FWIW we used to have an old Brother Fax machine that lasted forever.

We eventually got rid of it when faxes became obsolete but it never stopped working well. Maybe the MFC-J491DW was a “bad apple”. ].

I bought this D2 after finally managing to break my Leica Disto Classic which I’d had for 18 years and which has earned it’s 300 original cost many, many times over during this time. I found that the D2 did everything my old Classic could do, it’s a quarter of the size & weight, uses half the number of batteries and cost just 129; it fits easily into my pocket.

I used it on a building survey two days after I bought it and it’s paid for itself already. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The laser itself is excellent: light, precise, not expensive, regular batteries (not built in, which I really hate). On the other hand it has a serious drawback: if the surface is even slightly reflective, it gets stuck, it is not able to take readings.

I work in constructions, with aluminium frames, and it’s a problem, even if the aluminium is mat. In such cases I have to use the more expensive Bosch, or to spray the surface with some mat paint. Maybe I should buy the much better (and more expensive) 7500i, which also has a pointfinder.

Most of the time it does the job, so I’ve got no special complaints.

IšverstiShow in original languageAlso own an older similar Brother model, MFC-8860, that has serviced me well for a decade. Except, changed computers, the software for scanning would not travel and Brother would not re-supply.

But this replaced an old HP and so far so good. Very similar to the other Brother printer, just a smaller footprint. Although I wanted black, Best Buy’s site described as grey. The good news it did come black.

Bottomline, after a week, does what it says it does, fairly quickly and setup on a small private network and mobile phone printing with no issues. Scanning, printing with duplex (2 sides) a breeze. One poster suggested using 300dpi as a print setting to save toner.

Tested and the print came out with little difference from higher settings or the 600dpi I previously used. Since most of my printing is for internal use, I’ll see if the theory works. Easy to change to a higher resolution for hand outs or presentations.

Highly recommend this product for home or small office.

The scanner worked fine for about two weeks, and then the touchscreen stopped working and I had to scan by opening the app on the computer.

Not a big deal, but frustrating. Now, about 50 percent of the time, the scanner does not successfully scan on the first attempt—the paper runs through the feeder, but the message appears “problem scanning.

Please try again. ” So I have to feed the documents back through the scanner—sometimes multiple times—before the scan actually succeeds and I can save it. The printer works fine, had a decent speed, and the cartridges, while pricey, last a pretty long time.

In fact, from the time I got the “toner is getting low” message, I got at least 200 more copies that were fine. When the toner was actually insufficient, it stopped printing, so don’t change your cartridge till that happens.

Since it is a laser printer, it does not use liquid ink which would clog in dry out. Those are issues that I do not have to worry about with this printer, making it so that the toner lasts a lot longer and can print more pages with consistency than a general inkjet printer.

I wish it had duplex printing ability as well as Wi-Fi connection (this printer only connects via USB cable/network), especially since those features are more common place with larger printers like this one.

The 2. 0 USB connection easily makes data transfer simple and secure. It offers accurate color scan for your scanning projects as well and crystal clear copies. In black print it puts out 19 pages per minute for fast and clear work.

It holds 150 sheets giving you plenty of work before needing the paper refilled. I am highly satisfied with this easy to use Printer and would recommend it to anyone looking for a really nice quality wired laser printer.

For years i have searched for a single device that can satisfy my needs for scanning, copying and printing as well as faxing. The Brother L2710DW satisfies all those requirements. I would have to say the best feature is being able to copy something with just a button click.

My wife loves this feature! No computer required and you still have control over copy count, density and scaling. Having a wifi network connected printer was a huge game changer for me. No more going to the computer whenever i had to print a document or user manul or woodwoking plans.

I can connect to the printer from the phone and print directly. Another wife pleaser too! Scanning multiple document pages used to take hours using my flat bed sanner. With the new L2710DW i can scan a whole document in minutes using the automatic document feeder.

It was quick and easy to learn. The only feature i have not fully examined is the fax capability. I may need this is the future for business purposes so i made sure it had the capabilty. Based on the excellent performance of the other features, i have no doubt the fax will be just as easy to use and intuitive.

Finally i would like to praise the fixed button specific controls. I have read all kinds of reviews that say that the menu driven single screen is the best format; I disagree! I don’t have to look a tiny screen with a small font on the L2710DW.

The screen is large and easy to ready and backlit and the apllication specific buttons make it super easy to switch between copy, scan, print and fax. This is a huge plus for this is the only office device i have and can quickly switch between features.

I give the printer and overall rating of a 5, even though i have not tested the fax feature. Im sure the fax will not disappoint and will be just to easy to use as the other features. The L2710DW is a real time saver, feature packed, easy to use smart device that evey personal or home office should have.

Replaced a 12 year old HP Laser Printer with this AIO because I needed a new laser and my Epson AIO InkJet was doing bad scans. For some odd reason, laser all-in-ones cost much less than equivalent laser printers.

Maybe it’s the lower capacity cartridges? For home use, this cartridge may only last a few years vs 5 years with a higher capacity one, but it’s still less than inkjet. I don’t give this 5 stars because sometimes the scanner document feeder doesn’t pull the pages 100% straight.

And the image quality on the scans from the feeder could be sharper for graphics. But it makes “kinkos” quality copies most of the time, which is better than inkjet AIO. I have had no issues so far printing from the Mac, Scaning to the Mac, printing over AirPrint, etc.

I have the printer connected via Ethernet. I haven’t tried faxing. One other reason I don’t give this 5 stars is that when it wakes up, it seems to draw LOTS of volts (not Amps). It is so strong that it can cause a voltage drop if connected to a UPS system, causing it to click.

I also have that connected to a voltage regulator, that clicks when the printer wakes up. This is before it prints. So it’s not the fuser drawing this power, it’s the machine waking. I had to connect the printer directly to the wall, bypassing these devices because I don’t want to shorten their lives or the lives of things attached to them.

I am assuming the printer itself is designed for this and hopefully will live a long life. But I have never seen another printer do that to the line voltage, so it is something to consider.

Easy to use straight from the box and actually capturing the measurements is very easy compared with some of the cheaper laser measures on the market. It’s not as versatile as its big brother the D2 though – fewer functions, no choice of position measured from and shorter range.

No reason to doubt claimed accuracy of +/- 1. 5 mm but the biggest source of inaccuracy with a tool like this will be you- ie pointing it on a diagonal rather than straight. The D2 has a few fittings and features which can help to minimise the danger.

Nevertheless the D2 also costs quite a bit more and for quick measuring of lengths and areas where accuracy can be good enough this cheaper model from Leica is well up to the task and perfectly good enough.

I bought the D110 to replace a 15 year old Disto Classic. It’s more compact – fits in your shirt pocket, clear to use and we’ll made. Having downloaded the Sketch up app, it took less than a minute to set up with my Android phone, and taking survey notes is simplicity itself.

While the measure only takes linear dims and area, it is quick and simple to use. Perfectly accurate and a great replacement. If you want a simple, quick clear way of taking survey dims this is it. I can measure up and sketch a room in less than 2 minutes, and more importantly can check i have all the dims I need easily.

Great product, good price. Highly recommended.

Got this recently on Deal of the Day, so 5 stars for value. Coupled with their Sketch app on an iPad, it made short work of getting all the measurements for our bathroom refurb. You could do it with a tape measure and paper then draw an outline in some office application then input the measurements, but the ease of use D110 means that you get all the details you need straight onto the diagram which you can save or email.

Also used it for quick area measurements for decorating all on my own, no flapping tape measures at 4+ metres. Have checked it with a tape measure and no observed difference between the two. (Amazing how we seem to trust tape measures but distrust electronics.

) I love useful gadgets, and this is one of the best that I have. Only had it a short while, has worked every time that I have picked it up, but gave 4 for reliability as I have no experience of owning it for more than a month.

I bought this for myself for Christmas. I’d seen remarkable reviews and testimonials so naturally I was excited and curious. I began using it immediately and have used it consistently everyday for about 3 weeks now.

I have to admit I was skeptical about achieving real results from an at home device. I am thrilled to report that I am seeing results. I am using it under and above my eyes, on my crow’s feet, forehead, marionette lines, lower cheeks, and under my chin and jaw line, so basically all over my face.

I am so impressed and am sold on this product. It’s a permanent part of my daily routine! I highly recommend it!.

This is our third Brother printer, hoping each new “generation” would be better than the previous one. But no, These are very cheap quality machines. Scanner is very loud and becomes louder with use.

Scanning coverage area is about 90% despite ample room on the scanning screen. Paper jams with the feeder are very common. Printing is loud too. These machines are not durable in our opinion. We’ve had OEM toner and drum issues plus more (see below).

We never had these issues with Lexmark and other brands. The installation software is ridiculous buggy. The naming convention of the downloaded files are absurd and completely irrational. The manual is ok but when you run into an issue when things don’t go as planned, the manual is useless and you’re forced to search online.

Should you need to add another printer such as a warranty replacement, the software doesn’t play nice when trying to install, especially the printer as a network printer. The consumables are not accurate after adding a replacement, especially when under warranty.

Brother doesn’t send drum and toner, you have to use the old one and insert it into the new. Even though the toner level is not 100% it shows up as 100%. There doesn’t seem to be a way to change this in the settings.

When you run into software installation issues, the only workaround is to re-install Windows or if you used the Brother uninstall tool which doesn’t work (and is not user friendly) system restore. The troubleshooting section of Brother’s website is again, not user friendly.

These devices are not user friendly. We will never buy Brother again.

The device itself is great. However, i am totally shocked that such a sophisticated and expensive device does NOT come with any kind of detailed operating manual. I even called DeWalt’s customer service.

Even their own rep was surprised that a $700 piece of equipment does NOT come with an operating manual. Another interesting fact is that there is a small metal piece in the package (that appears in the picture on their Canadian website only) that is not mentioned anywhere in the description.

When I called their customer service, I asked about this piece, and even emailed them a picture of it; their own customer service had no idea what the piece does or is. I am very disappointed in DeWalt; they were never like this before – I know because I own numerous DeWalt tools that I have always been happy with, and that is precisely why I was willing to spend this much.

I’m seriously considering to return this item even though I really like the tool itself.

Two years ago I bought this to make lining up ceiling tiles easier but I keep coming back to it to speed up framing, laying tiles, laying out decking, leveling floor joists in old houses that have shifted and countless other things.

I even used it to trim my hedges! I now have the straightest and most level hedges in the neighborhood. 🙂 But seriously, I am a renovation contractor and this thing has paid itself off a dozen times.

I often get jobs based on the fact that I was so good at fixing other contractors messes using this level. True, I could have probably done it with another manufactures tool but I am a Dewalt guy and bought this one and it has performed flawlessly for two years.

The only trouble I had with it was seeing the line over 14 ft. distance on a sunny day while lining up a 36 ft second story deck. On that day I got over it by holding a white piece of paper over the area the line should have been to see it but have since bought the green laser detector for outdoor work.

Indoors I primarily use it just on the floor or attached to a Task extension pole that allows me to lift it to any height I need. Task sells an attachment that fits the base of the level and clamps to the pole.

Just picked up one of these lasers a few weeks ago and have been using it almost daily. I have used it for setting ADA grab bars and other commercial bathroom accessories, framing walls, setting welded and knock down frame doors, installing drop ceiling and I am sure more I cannot think of.

It is extremely intuitive to use right out of the box. I shouldnt say “box”, it is a very nice case with foam padding that does a great job holding everything in place and protecting it. Also you dont need an engineering degree to fit it all back in where it goes.

Fells very solid. Easy to use. Very strong magnet. I could go on.

I have been buying HP LaserJet printers since Series II -amazing workhorse. Unfortunately, a lot has changed in the industry due planned obsolescence strategy, etc. The average HP Color LaserJet Pro 300 and 400 Series design and quality has been a steady decline, each the device last less than the previous model and each was a higher model and more expensive! The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP479fdw is without question the worst Multi-Function device conceived by HP product engineers.

1. Touchscreen control panel: Not intuitive, Confusing, Annoying and Frustrating, easy for someone to accidentally reconfigure. 2. Touchscreen control panel: Poorly designed, and placed, users unable to scan a book due to screen being placed against scanning surface.

3. Walk-up USB por: Not easily visible, users have to squat down almost to port level to find it and use it, I cannot image how bad this device is to use for people with disabilities, access to port should be unencumbered.

10. Device is engineered to go through OEM toner like nobody’s business, the use of Non-OEM toner has been intentionally complicated, in one year the average SOHO will spend more on OEM toner than the cost of the printer by a minimum of two folds.

Every time I walk close to the unit, it senses vibrations in the floor and stops to re-calibrate. This contributes to the accuracy however, I think its too sensitive. Also the laser is not very bright.

Even in indoor use, if the room has big windows allowing a lot of natural light, the light is very dim when the unit is on full rotation. To increase the brightness of the laser I have to put it on “sweep mode” which means that the unit sweeps back and forth in approx.

1/8th circle. not make making full rotation. Since the batteries are not having to propel full rotation, there is more power available for the laser. This design is terrible because if you have to work all the way around the perimeter of the room, you have to keep advancing the laser position, which means that you have to hold down the button on the remote.

sometimes the laser doesn’t advance at all, or if it does, it goes right back to the previous position or it just shuts off altogether. REALLY Frustrating!!!!!!!!!!! Bad circuitry design.

We had one of the first lasers from Spectra Physics many years ago (35). This unit sets up automatically and levels itself without adjustment. It is a visible laser AND works with a portable target. So if you are pouring concrete you use the target, and if you are installing wainscot, the visable line on the wall works great.

From foundation to finish, this is a great machine.

Refurbished Bosch laser level looks and works like a brand new unit! Comes with rotary laser device, 2 DD batteries, receiver, clamp for the receiver and the carrying case. Only thing I needed to buy was a 9V battery for the receiver.

Works great! Highly recommend buying instead of a new unit for double the price.
