Best Kindle Unlimited Books Fantasy (2024 Updated)

Maybe I’m biased because I’ve always loved Alec Lightwood but I absolutely adored this book. I remember reading The Mortal Instruments for the first time and loving all the joking in the face of danger and Magnus in particular did not disappoint on that front in this.

This book is set during book 4 of TMI, City of Fallen Angels, which has always suffered from not having Alec or Magnus in it until right at the end. Alec and Magnus are traveling around Europe on their romantic getaway and get waylaid by demons and an evil Prince of Hell-worshipping cult named the Crimson Hand.

Early in the piece, Isabelle tells Alec that going on vacation together is a kind of relationship test and this really becomes the case when Magnus is linked to the evil cult. For the most part, I really enjoyed the exploration of Alec and Magnus as characters and them figuring out their relationship in these early stages.

However, it was a little strange to see them become closer and build trust with the foresight of what happens between them in City of Lost Souls. It wasn’t a huge issue but it did undermine a little bit of the character development for me.

Also can we talk about Helen and Aline? I had no idea they would make an appearance in this and it was such a welcome surprise. I’ve always loved them but the snippets of them we got in TMI and TDA are in amongst so much else going on that they rarely get a proper chance to shine.

It was nice to seem them in this a little more and see the beginning of their relationship. Helen is particular is an absolute gift, and so relatable, in this book (see below). “‘Go to Europe, Helen,’ they said.

‘Can’t be a homebody forever, Helen. Get out of L. A. , soak up some culture. Maybe date somebody. ‘ Nobody said, ‘A cult and its demons will chase you around Europe, and then a lunatic Lightwood will lead you to your doom.

‘” This book has all the demons, cultists, humour, romance and adventure you could ask for and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I absolutely love this book. I was originally a fan of The Mortal Instruments series and was so excited when I heard that there was going to be an entire book written on Magnus and Alec’s adventures in Europe and even more excited when I found out that there was going to be multiple books on the topic.

This special edition is stunning and looks so beautiful on the Shadowhunters shelf of my bookcase. I would definitely recommend this to any Shadowhunters fan!.

I love this book. If you want to read more about Alec and Magnus relation from the mortal instruments series, this is perfect for you. it’s a continuing of their stories and adventures together.

I have been desperately looking forward to reading this since I got my copy, but I had to wait while I wrapped up some NetGalley reads first. Having now finished it, my expectations were completely met.

I’ve loved all Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse books and Rule of Wolves was no exception. The story picked up where King of Scars left off and plunged us immediately into the action. I wondered where my favourite character was at first, but finally he made an appearance.

He didn’t get a lot of page time, but when he did it was meaningful, and I appreciated what Bardugo did with the character, giving him depth and meaning, rather than having him as a cardboard-cut-out villain.

Despite weighing in at nearly 600 pages, this book is fast-paced throughout and never drags. If anything, I wanted more chapters when it ended. Bardugo’s world building and character presentation were excellent as always, and I liked the way the ending was satisfying enough to be a conclusion if she doesn’t write more, yet left a clear path for further storytelling should she decide to extend the Grishaverse, potentially with another Kaz Brekker-centric work, given the lead in.

These books are definitely one of my all-time favourite fantasy series. Rule of Wolves is a clear 5-star read for me.

Let’s start with some of the things I liked about this book. I loved the action scenes and the main few characters. Zoya is great and I wish I could have some of her “take no nonsense” kind of attitude.

I also love Nina and pretty much everything about her. One of the major things I loved about this book is the inclusivity. The LGBTQ representation, the different bodys types and the different ethnicity essentially the fact that not everyone is white with blonde hair and blue eyes is amazing.

I think this added a star to my rating on it’s own. On the down side I disliked some of the POV characters and didn’t really enjoy those chapters. Some of them seemed unnecessary (I don’t want to say more to avoid spoilers).

Another thing was, like most Bardugo books, the beginning was pretty slow. Towards the middle it picked up but then for a few chapters it slowed again. It was hard to keep focused on the book when the pace fluctuated so much.

All in all I did enjoy this book but i won’t call it my favorite especially not in the Grishaverse. However, I can’t wait for the next Six of Crows book.

This book had me in a whirlwind of emotions, i was crying, laughing, and fangirling every time i opened it. Im going to miss Leigh’s grishaverse so bad 🙁 This book was, like the rest of the collection, was so beautifully written.

Each scene was set perfectly, and the characters were so deep and loveable, despite the fact the reader has known a character like Zoya since shadow and bone, and can still watch her develop and learn her past is just stunning.

Meeting old faves again was also a definite win, Leigh creates the best comfort characters and their interactions are gold. The ending left me warm and happy but also with a hole in my heart, since I know that nothing can ever replace this whole series for me.

This sequel to king of scars perfectly ties up the events of Nikolai, Zoya, and Nina in a wholesome way, and the pride I felt for the characters coming so far was real. Definitely worth reading, even if it tramples over your heart 🙂 “I am going to kill you.

I have enjoyed many years of reading about the dragonriders of Pern. I’ve re-read some of them many times. Thank you McCaffreys.

I finally to read about Xhinna the first girl to ride a blue dragon and about the others in this book, I’m sorry to know Anne will never get to write another book about Pern but her son Todd will do her justice in writing about Pern and its people like the other books he has wrote about, they are great to read if you want proof pick up one today.

This book has some interesting stories in it and how they got some more dragons to help them to fight, that dreaded Thread, and “how a Green dragon has a Queen egg!” i love to read this book and the others in the series of Pern.

I hope to read more of them!.

I first read Strange the Dreamer on my Kindle, and immediately knew I wanted the physical book. Because it was so well written, I felt like an autographed copy held extra appeal. Mikes Collectable Books delivered exactly what they advertised: a brand new, flawless, autographed copy of a beautiful book.

The packaging was of extra value, since it was delivered while I wasnt home and was left out in a light rain. (). Though the box was soggy, the book was dry and safe. I will definitely order from this vender again.

A tale that has wings all of its own. I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and went straight out and bought the boxed set. I would always read a series in order, it tends to avoid a lot of confusion on the part of the reader (i.

e. ME!). The composition of this story has a great beauty but is still capable of slapping you in the face. Laini Taylor has incredible skill.

Great read! I had intended to purchase the next book in the current series I was reading, but it wasn’t in stock. So I picked up Ruin of Kings quite at random. Glad I did! I now have another great author to select from,and a new series to read.

I’m a huge Sanderson ,Butcher fan,and if you are as well,this series will fit well into your tastes. Jenn Lyons does a great job telling a story,even if it took me a while to get used to her use of foot notes on every page.

Definitely recommend.

An epic fantasy with twists, turns and awesome, fantastical ideas that made my jaw drop. Kihrin’s story is something I absolutely want to keep following. Pick this up if you love ASOIAF or Harry Potter for sure, it’s quite the addictive read.

Jenn Lyons has done a really great job here.

I started this book and thought I wouldn’t like it because the story started slow for me. Once I got past the first couple of chapters I was hooked. I lost sleep reading this book. Can’t wait to buy the next.

This series has wonderful character development, an imaginative narrative without being childish, and a compelling progression. After reading about 30 pages of the first book I bought all five in the series.

I usually do not even buy books because I get them online from the library, but I knew immediately that this was a series I wanted to own.

This is an amazing series and I look forward to reading this book. Martin has an incredible ability to make so many memorable characters so easy to keep straight.

I loved this book along with the previous. Great books that have their ups and downs, fast and slow paces as well. I recommend you reading the book before watching any of the TV series if you plan on watching that as well because we all say that the books are better than the shows and these are no exception.

Definitely will be a classic and a must have to any library or collection.

these books are so fun and cute! my 8yo daughter loves dragons and fantasy stories and this series is right up her ally! we read together at night and I’ll read her a chapter and she will follow along with the graphic novels.

I highly recommend if you have a fantasy loving kiddo who has a lot of imagination.

My 8yo daughter loves this series of books. we bought this one because she was checking them out at school as her library book, and they are so popular that she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to get the next one when she finished the one she was reading/had checked out.

Bought this series for my 7 year old and not only does he love it but I now find myself reading the books in advance to help him as he goes through them. Loved this third book in the series! Focus on one of our favorite dragonets and helps us understand Glory better.

Geronimo Stilton series is light hearted and fun. It is fantastic for getting kids interested in reading. Even if they have trouble reading, this series is engaging with it’s picture clues. The story itself holds the interest of a capable reader too.

The phoenix Destiny lives up to the series quality. I even read them myself because they arw fun.

My Grandson really enjoyed it. It had everything he likes in a fantasy/adventure book. Ollie is 9.

My 8 year old daughter loved the book and finished reading it within a few hours. The book contains great illustrations, making it very entertaining to read.

Bought these Geronimo Kingdom of Fantasy series for a second grader. Finished each book (500 pages) within a few hours. Each book has different story, so you don’t have to read it in order. I highly recommend this series to any young avid readers out there.

This is a great product — in fact it is so goo i wrote this review with it. I highly recommend it. You control the mouse by pointing the remote, it has great, high quality buttons, and it is overall amazing!.

My 4th grader has been collecting these G Stilton books for over one year now. These books are truly a gem of creative writing, excellent grammar, and fantastical images. As an adult, they are one of my favorite books to read to my children because they are so well written.

There is no slang and the characters reflect good values.

I love this whole amazing magical series! Tui T Sutherland had managed to make the best books in the world! If you didn’t know this book is based on Qibli’s perspective. You meet his family and understand more about him and his life including his crush on Moon.

(Pretty sad) He helps his friends stop the prophecy, and defeat Darkstalker with a bit of animus magic in a really weird way. (But also kind of cute) (you will see what I mean).

One of the only book series to hook my reluctant readers attention. Action, adventure, mystery, intrigue and of course Dragons! This series has it all!

Thank you for having this plus a box set of the first 5 books too! I know I ordered another one as well in which I will set a review on but this along with the other books I ordered for my son was shipped well and in a perfect sized box to hold them to be received in to our hands.

Furyborn was surrounded by ALL THE HYPE for MONTHS before it released. It was EVERYWHERE, and as a huge YA Fan, I knew I would have to read it, sooner rather than later. Furyborn was essentially: 1) A magnificent tale told across two millennia by two young girls 2) One lives in a land surrounded my magic, and the other in a land where magic is a fairy-tale of the past and all they know is the Empire that conquers all 3) One of these girls is an assassin and one is a temple acolyte 4) A story surrounding a prophecy about these two girls – a Sun Queen and a Blood Queen, one with the power to destroy the world and the other with the power to save it.

5) It has kingdoms, swoony princes, power, magical trials, angels and it’s just SUCH A GORGEOUS BOOK TO OWN! MY THOUGHTS: 1) I expected a LOT going into this book. A majority of the early reviews I read RAVED about this book, and I was very hopeful that I had found the NEXT THING I WOULD FALL HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH.

Now, as I sit at the end of Furyborn, I find that while I ENJOYED it, for the most part, this story was predictable and kind of MEH, except for ONE TWIST on page 343. 2) If I had to choose between Rielle and Eliana, I would definitely choose Rielle’s story.

They were both a little predictable, but I definitely loved Rielle’s dark and twisty viewpoint better! 3) Furyborn was QUITE a long book. I feel like a lot of it was running around, especially in Eliana’s story when she kept travelling from place X to place Y, and not much happened that we DIDN’T ALREADY KNOW? 4) I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Audric and Rielle together, with their forbidden, best-friend romance.

Honestly, I liked Furyborn, but I didn’t fall in love with it. There was a lot of hype around it, and it just didn’t live up to all that hype for me. A 3. 5 star novel, but I hope I will continue on with the series!.

This book has absolutely earned its hype, the “most anticipated” title that it’s being marketed with it is also well-deserved. It’s a rare thing to find a single fantasy story that is original, exciting and full of powerful, intriguing characters, let alone two within one book.

Rielle and Eliana’s stories are connected, yes, but it’s not in an in-your-face obvious way, which serves Furyborn very well. But for a few overlapping elements, they each read as fantastic, nearly standalone stories in their own right, and the way author Claire Legrand deftly weaves them together adds tremendously to the depth and magnitude of the plot.

It’s so interesting to see both sides of the coin in one story – Rielle’s story provides the lead-up to an earthshaking event (which we get tantalizing hints of in the prologue), and Eliana’s story is set in the devastatingly brutal Empire left in the aftermath of Rielle’s time.

In books with multiple POVs, I personally find it nearly impossible to not have a clear favorite, but in Furyborn, both Rielle and Eliana are strong, compelling, and fascinating in their own ways. I truly did not have a favorite, and was only tempted once to skip a chapter and get a peek ahead, and skimming can be a huge problem for me in other books.

Fabulous writing, action, character development, worldbuilding, magic. everything. Fabulous everything.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me a copy to review! Like Children of Blood and Bone, this book was majorly hyped. And it deserved all of it. When this book was first hitting the book scene, I was not really into it.

I am sometimes wary of super-hyped books but then I was, like most things, “Ahh, might as well try it. ” AND I LOVED IT. Though book seems to be like a lot of popular books; you will love it to pieces or you will hate every fiber of its being.

I have noticed a lot of people who are complaining about the size of the book. I have been lately wanting to read some long (about 500 page) fantasy books so I appreciated that fact. For me, Legrand did not add any scenes that I felt were unnecessary as the book is basically two stories together.

I love being thrown into the action and this book starts with Rielle fighting to save her daughter and yes it is very dramatic. You also get to meet Simon, who is the same little boy that Rielle gives her daughter to at the beginning of the book, who is also with Eliana during her time; yes there is a completely logical explanation for this.

Though I do have lots of questions as to how Simon managed that. The Blood Queen I enjoyed Rielle’s POV a little more the Eliana’s which is weird because you know that Rielle dies so it is not like there is any is-she-going-to-die tension.

Fear not, what it lacks in tension of when she is going to die is made up in how does she become queen? The answer to this question is wholely dramatic and I loved it though I definitely was not expecting it.

The Sun Queen Then there is Eliana who I would describe as Adelina Amouteru with the flair of Celena Sardothein. She once jumped off a 3-story building with a red cape because she can. Now tell me Celena wouldn’t do that and I totally would too if I knew that I wouldn’t go splat on the ground.

Now she is also invincible, well not completely as she does get hurt but she heals really fast so basically. And she is so much like Adelina because she is (extremely) morally grey but she does love her family.

I thought that Simon’s remark after the little incident with the army prison was a bit much but it did show Eliana how her actions do affect others. And because the reader knows about the prophecy and the fact that Rielle is called the Blood Queen, it is not hard to put together that Eliana is the Sun Queen.

But she does not know that so it makes it interesting for when she is told. Now, both Rielle and Eliana have bisexual feelings but it is not an in your face “THESE CHARACTERS ARE QUEER!!!!” remark. And that is perfectly okay.

One plot point that I was expecting to be a bit different was how the prophecy was going to play out. I was expecting a little more hush, hush on who was the Bloof Queen and who was the Sun Queen. The supporting characters are a strong part of Furyborn.

I loved Ludivine and Remy! Ludivine is Rielle’s close friend and the betrothed to Audric. She is completely okay Audric and Rielle loving each other because I think that she might be aro/ace but then again there is a whole plot twist thing and that might be the reason why she has no love interests.

And then there is Remy, who is Elianna’s little brother; he is adorable and I love the bond between him and Elianna. In a nutshell, I did really enjoy reading this book it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to read the next one! I know that I shouldn’t be quoting an ARC but I just love this line.

My 4th grade son is crazy about this whole series! I’m so glad I was able to order the last 3 books in the series (so far), especially with the schools and libraries closed.

It is really good for people that have wild imagination and the people that are really into : adventure, imagination, dragons, and mystery. I highly recommend it,

This book is the 13th in a series and is the most recently released so I would recommend reading the other 12 first. As the series progresses you can really see Tui’s writing improving and this book is the best so far! This book had an LGBTQ+ Main character which was perfect and only improved the books overall amazingness.

The ending was such a cliffhanger encouraging you to buy the next book and leaving you excited in suspense. This book had everything: Fantasy, Dragons, Magic, Representation, character development, world building and a great plot.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and I think despite being aimed at middle grade. Anyone can enjoy this amazing book!.

This book took a different direction with its characters and now has 2 female dragons in a relationship, 2 male dragons in a relationship and a human that identifies as a “they”.

I bought this book for my 14 year old grandson. He began reading this series when he was about 10 and now has every book up to and including #13. He really enjoys the series and actually reads them over again once in a while.

He is always excited when another book comes out in the series and we scoop it up quickly via BAM!.

This book is a must for fans of the series Sunny is sweet, kind and caring but she knows her friends think she can’t look after herself, that they think of her as silly little Sunny. But nothing could be further from the truth! After hearing what her friends really think of her Sunny goes after three Nightwings, into the desert, who are angry about the events of The Dark Secret, (don’t worry no spoilers) determined to prove she’s more than just a silly little Sandwing.

Along the way she meets some long lost family and discovers some truths about the Sandwing queen Burn. She meets new dragons, some friendly and some who may be enemies. She also meets an old foe, one whom everyone thought was dead.

She soon leaves her home to return to her friends with an idea to stop the war without terror and bloodshed. But one of the queens is much more cunning than she thinks and she might have to look to a dragon who is not royalty to be the next queen of the Sandwings A must for Sunny fans and readers of the series who have been awaiting the end of the war! I love sunny so I loved this book.

I bought this series for a grandchild who has read the first book in the set and loves how its written. She has a hard time putting the book down. In other words, it is written in such a way that encourages reading and imagination to come to life.

An excellent author. Young readers are choosy about their reading material. It has to be on their reading level and be able to bring the reader into the story like these books have done for my grandchild.

I would recommend This series to anyone who enjoys dragon stories.

A amazing and enticing book, that anyone can read! If you decide to read this, you are in for a great time! I finished this series in 5 days, it was so interesting. I suggest it for anyone who likes to read.

Wheel of time series, cannot put the book down, Robert Jordan has a mind blowing imagination taking you to far off places. Hoping to read the whole 14 books. Holds your interest , never boring. Love them.

I admit I was reluctant to start a 14 Book series and it did take a while but I finished it and this book is what it started it all off. It is a great book written in a way that at the ending if you wish to stop there, it could be seen as the conclusion of a single book series but if you want read more there are 13 more to go.

This fantastical world is just ridiculous enough to keep kids laughing and wanting more, but the chapters are really short so that kids feel like they are making a lot of progress.

This was purchased for my grandson who is not a reader, but he specifically asks for these books. He has already lined up the next book. He loves the stories, the pictures are great, excellent value.

Once again Geronimo comes out the hero! Great series for kids to read before the more complicated Harry Potter books. Plus, the illustrations are amazing!

Took a while to get into the story, but not too long. I’ve already purchased the next two volumes and am looking forward to reading them. I’m recommending them to my daughter who has the same tastes in books as I do.

Having read all the early Hobbs books, this doesnt disappoint. Fits and Fool books remain my favourites and I got a bit fed up with the Liveship trader series but this made for quick and easy reading and book 2 seems to be following on nicely.

I look forward to completing the series.

After reading all the Fitz and the Fool books I wasn’t sure if I’d get into the Dragon series but it’s just as good as all her other books. Great characters and themes as usual. Well worth a read!

Came in good time and in good quality. My only issue being the elastic band that held the books together (as i bought a few at a time). it bent and marred the page ever so slightly. Its not too noticeable, but for someone who has a keen eye and is always focused on details i was a little upset.

Overall, a very good book, and a very good story.

Loved this book and the author’s writing style, the whole series was beyond my expectations!!!

Anne McCaffrey is an awesome science fiction/fantasy writer. This is the second book in a trlogy that provides background information to the larger science fiction world McCaffrey created in her other Pern novels.

The story is carefully crafted to take into account events in the Pern novels that are going on at the same time. Readers will be enchanted by Mennolly and her nine flying fire lizards. If I could live on Pern, I want one of those lizards if I can’t have my own dragon to fly on,.

Veering a little from the dragonriders, was not sure it would be as interesting, but I should not have doubted Anne McCaffrey’s writing abilitites. Its a great read.

I loved them the first time I read them, many years ago. I still love them today. They are ageless!

We had been looking for this book for quite a while locally – apparently it is considered as a ‘ Golden Book’ from the Geronimo Stilton series. These books are the only ones that take my 8 year old son away from electronic gadgets, and before he finishes them, does not put them down.

My son really likes these books. They are quite entertaining for him.
