Best Keyboards For Minecraft Pvp (2024 Updated)

This is my first experience with a mechanical keyboard, and even more-so, my first experience with a legit gaming keyboard. I really use this for work-related tasks, but perhaps will get into some gaming with it in the future.

The tactile nature of the keys feels absolutely amazing. I am in no way great at typing, but I am ok enough to get satisfaction out of a great feeling keyboard like this. It isn’t overly noisy, but it does have an audible click to it, especially when you type more quickly.

I again am not using this for gaming, and really don’t have an opinion on the RGB gaming type accessories. I do, though enjoy the different colors I can have that sort of breaks the monotony. The functionality is somewhat simple in that there are keystrokes that will engage and change the basic profiles preset in the keyboard, itself.

There is far more customization if you utilize the proprietary software that can be downloaded at the Corsair website (bear in mind that there is no support for Mac OS, which I feel is a huge miss by Corsair).

The iCUE software is a great way to customize ever nook and cranny, but there is a learning curve, or at least there was for me. The software lacks some intuitive functionality and I found that I was very frustrated with it for the first hour or so of trying to navigate through to see what fun stuff I could add to the keyboard.

All in all I am very happy with this purchase. It’s a pricey peripheral, but well worth it if you have the extra money that you want to spend on something of quality.

I am between a 3 and a 4 on this rating, because I wasn’t able to use the full functionality of the keyboard due to Corsair’s poor iCue integration and even worse customer service. The keyboard itself feels very solid and has some heft the frame, which I prefer.

Has a good deal of additional buttons, including multimedia and volume adjustment. The iCue scrollwheel is the only piece of hardware that seems a bit flimsy. To appreciate the full functionality of this keyboard, you must install the iCue software.

This would allow you to assign macros, adjust rob, create profiles, etc. Unfortunately I should have did my research on this software prior to my purchase, and saw the multitude of issues (both comparability and functionality) with iCue.

Long story short, after installing the iCue software, anytime I launched it with the keyboard plugged in I would get the BSOD. When customer service finally responds to my help ticket (3 day wait time between each of their responses) they are of no help at all.

Ended up returning the board since it shouldn’t be worth the headache. Was hoping to be able to utilize the multimedia buttons and macros, but I’ll be going back to my Ducky which doesn’t have all of these bells and whistles but has never given me any issues.

A very pleasant typing experience. It’s nice and compact with good switches and can connect to 3 different devices which is great. Also works in wired mode. Definitely better than an Apple magic keyboard.

The battery life could be better, but is by no means bad (with full brightness RGB backlight on). The backlight is not as bright as it probably should be, but if the room is dark its easy to see.

I personally like the streamlined design compared with the k2 I also own. It does however make it easier to bump the lower corner keys which can get annoying. The Bluetooth connection can take a few seconds to initiate between waking and typing which can also get annoying.

You end up hitting the space bar a few times to ensure it’s awake. These aren’t deal breakers but things I’d want fixed before I gave 5 stars.

Received the keyboard and installed all the necessary ASUS software needed to install firmware updates as well as check the battery status. I was charging the keyboard while doing so, and soon found out that the battery percentage won’t move past 50%.

So, I decided to unplug the charging cable and use the keyboard to see if the battery depletes. Surprise surprise, battery won’t go below 50% either. Many have been having this issue online and no solution was found.

Returned the product. Honestly, for a wireless keyboard that costs this much, battery should be the least of my worries. I understand that this could’ve been a defect from the manufacturer, but for the price, I’d rather spend it on a different reputable brand.

Bummer. Really fell in love with the keyboard. Huge letdown.

This keyboard is a great companion for an ASUS motherboard. The linear smooth actuation MX Cherry reds preform well and are not insanely loud. The spacebar has a nice thud to it and the stabs are acceptable for the price point.

If you have a cheap 60% and an ASUS mobo ditch it for this keyboard. Also the wireless is seriously good. I have not once had it lag out or miss a key press and as soon as you type it lights right up and doesn’t even miss the first letter like some boards.

All in all I would recommend this keyboard to my friends.

It’s a really great compact keyboard. Love the look and how it is set up. Even the feel of the keyboard! The only thing that annoys me was the Firmware update. No matter how many times you update it, it still pops up.

But all in all, GREAT KEYBOARD! Love it!.

I really wanted to love this keyboard, but two things prevent me from giving it a good review. It all has to do with the arrow keys. One: the arrow keys have been remapped to the u-h-j-k keys, which means in order to use them, you have to use your right pinky to engage the Fn key and then shift your other fingers one space over to the left (if you want to use the arrow keys similarly to how you normally would).

Contrast this with the Razer Huntsman Mini 60% keyboard, where the arrow keys have been remapped to the i-j-k-l keys, so that your fingers can stay where they naturally rest on the keyboard while your pinky engages the Fn key.

It’s a subtle difference but it makes the Razer WAY more usable for fast typing, whereas this Corsair is more of an inconvenience. Two: the windows key becomes a “lock” key when you hit Fn + Windows key at the same time.

This locks the Fn functions of the whole keyboard. This is probably not an issue on Windows, but on Mac OS, this prevents you from being able to use Cmd+Shift+Arrow keys to select blocks of text. Since you have to engage the Fn key to use the arrow keys, and the Windows key becomes Cmd on Mac, this creates a conflict between the key mapping of the OS and the specific function of that key with this keyboard.

These might be extremely niche use cases, but for anyone who does a lot of fast typing and uses keyboard shortcuts to select blocks of text on Mac OS, you’ll likely feel the burn of those missing functions.

I tried really hard to figure out a button remapping solution that would help, to no avail. You might say “well it’s a 60% keyboard with no arrow keys, what did you expect,” but like I said, the equivalent keyboard from Razer does not have this problem.

Corsair made a bad design decision, and it limits the capabilities of this keyboard.

Corsair has managed to build a keyboard that is both the smallest and the biggest I have ever seen. While the K65 Mini has a miniscule footprint, its nearly two inches of height makes for a somewhat imposing presence on your desk.

And I absolutely love it. Despite the plastic shell it is a remarkably sturdy piece of gear with absolutely no deck flex, a satisfyingly smooth (though not at all tactile) typing experience, and all the top tier features you’d expect from a premium keyboard from Corsair.

It is over the top, showy, and absolutely glorious. For those who haven’t tried mechanical “gaming” keyboards before, I should probably explain that they are one relatively few examples of gaming specific gear that actually does have a measurable impact on your gaming performance.

Standard membrane keyboards register a keypress only when you bottom out a key – and generally struggle to accurately register keypresses when you hit several keys simultaneously or in close succession.

Standard mechanical keyboards use individual switches for each key. These switches can be designed to trigger (aka: actuate) with much less travel, so you don’t need to bottom out the key before the computer registers you’ve pressed it.

Good ones also feature microcontrollers that can better track keypresses as they occur, providing full n-key rollover (registering multiple keyboard presses) and eliminating ghosting (when a keyboard fails to register a keypress because it happened too close to one that was already being processed.

) Gamers love them because the more responsive and reliable control inputs improve reaction times and make it easier to use complex keyboard commands or combos. They’ve also proven to be quite popular among particularly fast typists, who can sometimes have issues with random typos appearing as a result of ghosting when they’re going at full tilt.

Corsair, in their typical fashion, has decided to fully embrace overkill with the introduction of their AXON microcontroller. AXON is able to check for new keypresses 8000 times every second. This is far, FAR more than any human should ever be able to take full advantage of, but on the flip side that also means that there’s even less time spent waiting between the moment you press the key and the moment it gets sent to your CPU.

And as if this weren’t enough they also built this particular board with Cherry MX Speed switches (also known as Cherry MX Silver, depending on who you ask. ) These actuate after just 1. 2mm of travel and require 25% less force to use than the standard clicky blue switches that have been the defacto standard for the last few years, making the keyboard even more twitchy.

They’re also linear switches, meaning they don’t have the tactile “bump” to let you know when the switch has fired and make significantly less noise as a result. Having used both I can tell you that typists will likely not find linear switches to be nearly as satisfying as tactile ones, since being able to feel each keypress land can greatly assist with overall accuracy, but for any kind of twitch gaming you’re going to be hard pressed to find much better than these speed switches paired with the AXON Controller.

And it doesn’t hurt that the keyboard looks great either. Corsair’s iCue software has come a long way since it first released and allows you to set up all manner of complex lighting effects and animations if you want, and the diffusion plate installed beneath the keys means that the entire thing glows with a softer and more pleasant effect than you get with most per-key lighting.

It’s particularly stunning with the optional “radiant” spacebar installed, though sadly this and the optional Corsair escape key are both painted single shot keys rather than the more durable molded double shot keys that the rest of the keyboard uses, which you can definitely tell if you look close enough as the surface finish doesn’t quite match.

As far as my actual usage experience goes, the only issues I really ran into come down to the fact that I’m just not used to using a 60% keyboard, which is really just a matter of practice. These keyboards are basically what you get when you decide that the already diminutive tenkeyless designs are just too big for your liking.

60% keyboards have no dedicated arrow, function, or navigation keys, requiring you to use function key combos for all of them. Corsair, to their credit, packed in a lot of these key combos. In addition to the usual arrow keys and function keys there’s a virtual mouse (which is just as clumsy as you’d expect trying to replace a mouse with a keyboard would be, but really nice to have if you ever find you actually need it,) media keys, macro keys, lighting controls, and the ability to lock the Windows key to prevent you from accidentally minimizing a game while you’re playing it.

There is a definite learning curve required to get good at these, and it feels a bit clumsy if you’ve gotten used to having a full keyboard available, but some will no doubt find it worthwhile to reclaim the desk space.

In my case, for example, I’m planning to mount the keyboard in a VR simpit I’ve built for games like Elite Dangerous or Microsoft Flight Simulator. The fact that I can attach it to a miniscule tray that I can swing out of the way without worrying that I’ll accidentally smash something in the process because I can’t see out the VR headset more than makes up for having to hold FN-K to scroll to the right.

I’d primarily recommend this to any gamers looking for a way to save space without compromising on quality or comfort who also don’t anticipate doing a ton of word processing.

This keyboard is an absolute pleasure to have. It is a sleek, compact, and overall very beautiful keyboard. One of the main reasons why I bought this keyboard was for the sound of the keycaps. I used to have cherry MX reds, which are satisfying, but I was looking for something less “clickaty-clackty”.

The K65, when I demo’d the display, felt amazing. It is very satisfying to type on and offers solid feedback when pressed with an accompanying solid sound that is not too loud. Another reason why I bought this was to reclaim desk space.

Switching to this K65 mini has freed up a good 70% of space. It is light, portable, and very easy to transport. This is NOT wireless, nor does it have a USB run-through near the top. The only issue I have with the keyboard is the positioning of the FN key.

The FN key is used when you want to do other actions that normal keyboards have a dedicated key for. The FN key is positioned to the right of the spacebar. If you play games that require F1 and do not want to rebind it, taking your hand off your mouse and then hitting FN+1 is a very cumbersome move.

This would have been a perfect keyboard if there was another FN key to the left of the keyboard or if you were able to reprogram the keys, but unfortunately you are unable. Overall, this keyboard is a 9/10 for me.

I was able to get it for 89. 95 which is an absolute steal.

I purchased this open box, complete. Staff let me review the product before checkout. The brown keys are not overly loud and feel responsive. I had a hard time adjusting my right hand keystrokes as I’m coming from a full-size keyboard but acclimated quickly to the change.

Backlighting is good. Software is fair. The Bluetooth connection has been easy to set up on several devices (cell, laptop, desktop). There’s a switch to quickly change devices. I like the size: my desktop feels cleaner, I can easily carry it in a laptop bag, and it still has some heft and firm grips on it so it stays put when in use.

My favorite features are the Bluetooth and size. Only issue I’ve experienced has been that a key was not functioning upon first use. The 6 key would not activate, unless I used the Fn key in unison, in which case the Fn6 (F6) would work.

This was odd. The issue resolved itself however within a day without any action on my part. There are better keyboards out there, but for a budget entry to mechanical keyboards I am happy with the quality, the price, and the features.

The keyboard is smaller then I expected. However, after using it for an hour I fell in love with it. I use it with my desktop and laptop simultaneously. The quick switch button works immediately. The keyboard feels really nice and does not make too much noise.

The typing experience and gaming are both excellent. The only thing I miss on the keyboard are the independent arrow keys. I just need to get used to using the FN-W-A-S-D keys for arrows. Other than that I absolutely love the keyboard and would highly recommend.

Overall pretty good keyboard, it’s hot-swappable, comes with 4 different types of key for you to put on your keyboard or just to have. It is USB Type C so you know it’s going to be fast. It has magnificent RGB lighting.

It seems and feels like a good keyboard for a Streamer/YouTuber (Wink Wink). The packaging was kind of fancy ngl. It’s brown switch (so you don’t have to slam your key’s so it’ll respond)So So it’s good for fast swift movements for when your typing/gaming.

It’s actually really satisfying to use it (Kind of like an ASMR keyboard) It’s good for setting up keybinds for when recording, streaming, etc. So in conclusion pretty good keyboard. For its price, it’s amazing actually! Detachable cord, Bluetooth, Brown Switch, beautiful RGB lighting Small and compact design, kind of heavy, and is really fun to use.

So I give this keyboard a 5-star rating.

It’s a 65% keyboard layout with fully programable keys as well as on the fly macros without using the software which I thought was great as I prefer to use it without software slowing down the OS. There’s also a touch-sensitive volume slider on the left side that’s programable, handy during gaming sessions and the keyboard is fitted with Cherry MX German-made Switches requiring 45g activation force, at just 2mm to initiate and 4mm bottom good for avoiding accidental key presses when typing.

As for battery life, it’s been going well since I ordered it at pretty much 100% with the lowest brightness as it’s rated for around 450 hour’s if set with RGB off. There’s also plenty of lighting option such as “Static”, Breathing, Colour Cycle, Starry Night, Strobing, Music, Adaptive, Dark and Smart.

The keyboard can also be used in a wired mode in case the battery becomes low and they included a protected tray to cover the keycaps when travelling or sit the keyboard in. Overall I would recommend this keyboard as it’s light, stylish along with great portability and form factor even if the pricing is a bit steep.

Pros: Wow. Asus have done it again. I love Asus products. They are the best at what they do. What a great keyboard. The brown switch is perfect. The RGB is beautiful. I love the small size for my limited size desk.

Pros: I got the NX browns and they have a nice sound and feel. The keyboard feels really solid with the aluminium backplate. The touch bar is really cool and supports 5 different gestures. The keyboard cover is a nice addon.

Asus know how to make great stuff. Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Over the years, I have had hands-on experience with a plethora of keyboards spanning various form-factors, switch-types, and configurations. That said, the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini is the one of the most compact, customizable, and powerful keyboards I’ve ever used.

After opening the packaging, the keyboard’s size is its most noticeable aspect. Featuring a compact 60% size (i. e. , no dedicated arrow keys, ten-key pad, media function keys, function keys, or navigation keys), this keyboard sports only the keys you absolutely need while maintaining all the functionality of said removed keys.

The keyboard provides these functionalities via a responsive and robust “SteelSeries Key” located between the Right Windows Key and the Right Control Key operating much like the “Fn Key” found on many laptops.

While holding the SteelSeries Key, the user can access the secondary functions of each key which are clearly labeled on the front of each keycap. This sort of interface may be a dealbreaker for some, but I found it was rather easy to get acclimated to.

I spend a lot of time in productivity applications and, while a full-size keyboard can be easily operated out of the box with no extra thinking involved, I found I was able to achieve a comparable performance level with this keyboard after a short learning curve.

Another immediately noticeable aspect of this keyboard is its utilization of SteelSeries proprietary OmniPoint Adjustable Actuation Switches. Typically, I immediately take pause when a manufacturer touts its proprietary switches as superior to traditional mechanical switches; however, I was happily proven wrong on this one.

The actuation point of the switches is customizable via SteelSeries GG, a software typically bundled with any SteelSeries product, and offers settings ranging from an unbelievably sensitive hair trigger to requiring the key to be fully depressed for actuation.

This allows for a degree of customization that would have previously required you to buy a whole new keyboard with different switches. It is important to note, however, that modifying the actuation point of the switches DOES NOT modify the tactile or audible responses of the keyboard.

If I were to compare the feel of these switches to a traditional mechanical switch, I would say they are most similar to Cherry MX Reds where there is no tactile actuation feedback, and the keys need not be bottomed out for actuation.

Personally, I find that an actuation point of 1. 6 in SteelSeries GG offers the quickest and most sensitive response for my typing style while avoiding unintended keypresses. You may notice that the majority of the keyboard is constructed out of plastic; however, I would not consider this to be a downfall as I would with many other keyboards.

Whatever kind of space-age plastic they used in constructing this keyboard feels astoundingly rigid, premium, and hefty — there is ZERO flex to this keyboard whatsoever. The keys also have a grin-inducing texture to them highly reminiscent of the classic beige keyboards with purple PS/2 connectors.

Another aspect of the keyboard I would like to touch on is the customizability of each key’s individual function. Via use of the SteelSeries GG software, the user can reprogram any key to perform nearly any function including straight-up rebinds, execution of user-generated macros, and even dual-press keys.

I don’t typically make much use of features like this, however, I found that rebinding the Right Windows Key to function as a Second “SteelSeries Key” eliminated the few inadvertent keystrokes I was performing when initially getting my feet wet with the keyboard (and I never really use the Right Windows Key anyhow).

SteelSeries GG also allows users to customize the per-key RGB backlighting to their heart’s content. One potential downside to this keyboard is its lack of ergonomic considerations; however, I feel it should be evident that ergonomics will take a hit when dealing with 60% keyboards, especially considering the omission of a wrist pad.

If you think this may be a dealbreaker for you, I found that the dedicated wrist pad from my Logitech G513 provided some support, but a more ergonomics-centric keyboard may be a better option for you.

Overall, I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for an extremely compact platform ideal for travelling with all the functionality and customization options that a full-size keyboard typically offers.

The quality of the keyboard itself as well as the software bundled with it make this an exceptionally user-friendly product to set up, use, and customize to your exact liking.

This is my first time using a mechanical keyboard since before membrane keyboards were the norm. I quite like the nostalgia of a mechanical keyboard and the satisfaction of the clicks. I am not ready to mod or build my own mechanical keyboard, so I like that this has adjustable switches.

I like that this has two wireless options ((2. 4GHz and Bluetooth) and wired connectivity. I didn’t think I needed wireless but I am enjoying being able to put it anywhere I want. The included USB-C to USB-A cable is one of the best quality I have ever received included with a product (it is exciting when a cable is included these days).

It is 8 feet long and wrapped in nylon. I like that the keyboard looks clean and minimalistic. There is branding but not too much. The black sleek design allows the different lights to be the main focus of the keyboard.

The small size doesn’t take too much room on the desk and allows plenty of room for a mouse to be comfortably used next to it. It does take some getting used to not having certain buttons but you can customize the keyboard to your needs.

The casing and keycaps feel well made and I am not scared that I have to be gentle on the keys. You have to download the Steelseries GG software to make adjustments and configurations to the keyboard.

What is annoying though is that GG is not just software for the keyboard settings but also includes a whole bunch of other functions that I don’t want or need. I wish there was an option to only download the Engine application.

The software interface could be improved upon. I found that it’s not entirely intuitive and difficult to use. There are also not as many preset illumination settings as I would have liked. As fun as it is to make your own combinations up, it does take a lot of time and there is a learning curve to the software that not everyone will want to spend time doing just to have different colors.

I thought set-up was a bit of a pain because I had to do a software update on top of downloading the GG software, which involved plugging in the dongle and the keyboard. There is also not a lot of overall instruction or guidance on the site or included with the keyboard.

I couldn’t even find information on how to factory reset the keyboard when I thought I had made a mistake in one of the settings. The sound could be a bit more clicky but it is enough to be satisfying.

It is still plenty loud enough for someone who is not used to using a mechanical keyboard. The response times do seem indeed fast. The keys are smooth and consistent. I like the texture of the keycaps and hope that they don’t get smoothed out with repeated use.

A wrist support would have been nice to have been included but is not a deal breaker. Overall, it is an excellent keyboard but the downside of having difficult to use software.

When our last keyboard quit working I knew finding a suitible replacement for my avid gamer family wasn’t going to be easy. As all of us game but on different games. My husbands go to game is World Of Tanks & World Of Warcraft though not as much Warcraft since their most recent expansions.

Anyway my daughter and son play on Ark and while I do tend to find myself writing more than gaming I also play online games using the desktop. That said I knew I wanted to elimimate having to charge the next keyboard because to be honest charging a wireless keyboard constantly became more of a pain than being wired.

Then came the time to look at other features such as lighting even though that isnt nearly as important as other factors such as optipoint switches and doubleshot pbt keys both of which the Apex 9 tkl have.

The optipoint switches are engineered for speed so theres zero debounce and they provide virtually instant response time. The doubleshot pbt gives you tournment ready keycaps that are designed for competition.

Resistent to wearing down and durable so they will stand up to the regular and heavy use. The keyboard also has 2 point adjustable actuation so you can adjust the height at which your keystrokes activate.

You can play in two modes ultralight for quick action gaming and deeper presses for everyday typing. Speaking of which the keyboard makes the most satisfying sound when in use but isnt overly loud or obnoxious like some overly pronounced mechanical keyboards.

It comes with a key remover so you can easily remove or replace keys if desired. The lighting features are honestly a wonderful fun feature theres different settings but our favorite is the wave / breath setting where it looks like a wave of changing colored lights across the keys.

This is customizeable via a button on the keyboard. Theres also a scroll wheel in the upper right hand side that controls your computers volume. Theres also a high and low ergonomic setting for how high you set it.

Overall id say my mission while not easy was accomplished and we are a happy family of gamers and so thankful the our Apex 9 TKL to of joined our gaming family.

Needed a quiet, fast typing keyboard. Is all that. Is heavier than I expected, but my previous keyboard was a cheapo where the key rubbed off. I really like the texture on the keys. Not too slippery feeling.

Short keys with short motion so less movement needed to type.

This is very nice keyboard indeed, for the price. It is remarkably heavy, so sits on the desk firmly without sliding around. The keys have a distinctive feel, which I like. Very quiet so good in an office with other people.

My only negative comment is that it doesn’t have a sleep key as one of the extra keys. But I can map a different key to sleep using the free Cherry Keys software (I use the “New mail” button).

This keyboard has a great action if you are able, or close to being able to touch type. It feels very similar to a good quality laptop keyboard. The good action and means I don’t end the day with sore fingertips.

The keystroke is less than a traditional keyboard so it takes a few hours to get used to, but is good once adjusted to it.

Overall, the keyboard is very well built, decent RGB effects, and the perimeter of the wrist pad also lights up. One big issue with this keyboard is if you run an Xbox controller, your controller will not work as the keyboard is recognized as both a keyboard and a Xbox Controller in the device manager (for some of the analog controls).

In order to get your Xbox Controller to work, you need to poke around in your device manager and disable the Xbox Controller that was installed as part of the keyboard installation. Do a quick google search for Razer Huntsman Xbox Controller and you’ll see what I mean.

No perm fix in place yet as of 3/2022. One smaller issue I have is it’s a 2-cable connection to your pc. It uses one USB-A port and one USB-C port. It does come with a USB-C-to-USB-a adapter. Aside from that, very nice keyboard.

One of the quieter mechanical keyboards I’ve used.

This keyboard has a very good feel to it. When I type or use a keyboard for gaming, I want the keys to give me feedback. This keyboard does that. The keys are very responsive. I don’t have to guess if I tapped a key.

The keyboard cable disconnects, which makes this good for traveling. Other keyboards with attached cables are a pain. The keyboard has a solid construction to it. Nothing flimsy on it. The keys light up to many different colors.

This is pretty cool and helpful in low light conditions. The wrist rest that is included is comfortable. It doesn’t attach to the keyboard, but doesn’t slip around. The Razor Synapse app compliments this keyboard.

Macros can be created and stored in the app. Function keys have multiple levels of storage. Use the app to program each key for the function you need.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleFor years I loved using the wired Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard with the Star Programmable keys that allowed me to call up favorite documents and websites without other keystrokes to find them in File Explorer or a web browser.

But my 4000 died a few days ago, and I was sad to see it is no longer made by Microsoft. It has been replaced by several other models, but with without the Star Programmable keys. So I went to Best Buy and tried out five or six keyboards.

The closest replacement for my 4000 appeared to be the wired Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard priced at $45. But I wanted the best keyboard I could buy, and the Logitech ERGO K860 was $130, so I figured if it cost three times as much, it must be a MUCH better keyboard.

It was comfortable to use, and the back of the package said it had programmable F keys, so even it didn’t have any unassigned programmable keys, I thought I could program the F keys to call up documents and websites like my Microsoft 4000 did.

So I bought the K860. I hooked it up at home and tried to figure out how to program the keys. There were no instructions in the package. I went online to the manufacturer’s website to download instructions, which said the function of the F keys could be changed to other choices, but did not say they were programmable.

It just had a list of other commands you could change the key to perform. So for example, the F1 key, which normally brings up Word Help, could be changed to one of several other specified operations, such as printing a document, or displaying your email or calculator, etc, but there was no option to call up a specific document or perform a macro like you could do on the 4000.

I called the ERGO help line to find out how to program the keys, and they said, “Sorry, you can switch the function of the F keys to the alternate listed choices, but you can’t program to do something else.

” So I returned the ERGO to Best Buy, and got a polite refund with no questions asked. I bought the $45 Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard, which also said on the back of the package that it had programmable keys.

I was please to see that indeed it in addition to the F keys, it has three more unassigned keys that are fully programmable, just like the keys on the 4000 were (although the 4000 had five of those).

And this keyboard is just as comfortable to use as the ERGO at 1/3 the price! The only advantage I can see with the K860 is that it is wireless, but I prefer wired because there are no batteries to fail and a wired connection is always better than wireless.

By the way, the new $45 Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard is more comfortable with better key feel than my old 4000, so I am delighted with the new Microsoft keyboard. But if you want a wireless keyboard, don’t need to program your keys, and don’t mind paying $130 bucks for a keyboard no better than a $45 keyboard, go for it!.

I was pleasantly surprised that the wrist rests were comfortable and well designed. My wrists were positioned with no effort needed to “hold” my hands / wrists by the keyboard. And my hands just lie naturally without having to bring my elbows closer together, as before.

Now, my elbows are comfortably placed on my desk, shoulder-width apart. One thing I miss is the “right-mouse” click key that was on my other keyboards. It was easy to hit the “context” key to bring up the options that a right key would normally be displayed: spell checking, options for highlighted text or selected objects.

Another I have, unrelated to this particular keyboard, is “feeling” the slight bump on the “F” and “J” keys to let my fingers “know” where the rest of keyboard keys are located. I could no longer fell this slight “built-in” bump.

What I did was to punch out a piece of that thin (1/32″) Styrofoam sheeting used in shipping. I punched out two dots with a paper punch and, with some double stick tapes, stuck them on to the two keys.

These keys now have a very soft, palpable finger repositioning guide. Now, IF I can just find a mouse that _I_ can use. The semi-vertical mice would probably work well — but only for folks who, unlike me, have a thumb on their right hand.

Currently, the ONLY mouse that can work for me is the Logitech MU0007 mouse where I can pretty much cover and control my mouse without needing a thumb to grab the mouse to move it. I to have to work around accidentally squeezing the “thumb buttons” on the left side of the mouse.

Because my hand is so far “over” the mouse, this is generally not an issue; there is enough of gentle curve on the left side of the mouse my. thumb-stub can grab the back half of the mouse. Also, the semi-rubberized cover on the side helps alot.

My index and middle fingers can depress the left and right mouse buttons that make up the top shell of the mouse — as well as using the scroll wheel.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleI am a touch typist and usually type around 90-100 words per minute. Since I am used to typing on laptops, I was not looking for any mechanical keyboard. My experience with my brother’s Microsoft LXM-00001 showed me that the ergonomic layout can be very comfortable, but there is a learning curve.

It takes some time to get used to the new layout and your typing speed can take a temporary dip during this phase. When I finally got the Logitech K860, the quality just stood out from the moment I opened the box.

The keyboard is extremely sturdy and has very little flex. The built-in write rest is a well-thought bonus. In addition to providing comfort, it helps me keep my hands stable, even at high typing speeds.

This helps me prevent mistakes I make when I move my hands too much. The keys are not mechanical but have a decent travel distance and the right actuation force for my taste. The keys are also extremely quiet so I don’t feel guilty pecking away at 100 words per minute even though I know people are working nearby.

This was a nightmare when I once experimented with a mechanical keyboard with cherry blue switches. They are extremely loud. I use the keyboard on both mac and windows and so far there was no compatibility issues.

When the computer goes to sleep, the keyboard turns itself off to save battery but immediately fires back up at the stroke of a single keystroke. Everything about the keyboard speaks of Logitech’s quality, the sturdy keys, the built quality of the keyboard and the stability of typing experience.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing invest in a good quality keyboard for long-term usage.

My keyboard 4000 started to show wrong characters, so I had to throw it out and get a new one. That was a nice keyboard. Too sad Microsoft chose to discontinue that keyboard and instead introduce this one.

While 4000 may look a bit dated, Microsoft could do a refresh instead of creating this keyboard which is difficult to use. The keyboard layout is just stupid. Why? Why? Why do you put a context menu key in next to the left control key? It is so cramped there, and when I first started to use the keyboard, I pressed the windows key many times instead of the Alt key.

And the office key and emoji key on the right? Seriously? Has ANYONE asked for them? You really think office workers are going to constantly send emojis to other people? And I created an ahk script just to disable that office key.

The placement of num lock, screen lock and pause are just idiotic. I get it that people don’t use these keys very much, but you could have just removed them instead of shuffling their positions? And they put print screen and delete next to F12, and the keys are tiny, which makes it difficult to find either F12 or print screen.

Otherwise the keyboard is ok. I still prefer the feel of 4000. Microsoft, please get yourself together and release a proper keyboard.

This is sometimes described as “mechanical” (not by Micro Center or Microsoft) – it is not. It is a direct replacement for the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard. Gone from the 4000 are some unnecessary features that, despite having been a huge fan of that keyboard, I NEVER used – the prev/next keys below the space bar and the zoom between the split sections.

The re-designed wrist rest section is foam-based instead of fake leather, which I suspect will last longer and not be as prone to flaking. One feature which will take some getting used to is that the F-row keys are simply too close to the number row keys, meaning if that you’re used to applications where you’re using the F-keys a lot, or the number keys, you have to think a little more.

I get that this, in addition with other cosmetic and media key changes, allow the keyboard to occupy less space than the very large Ergonomic 4000, but it does take a slight period of adjustment if you’re making the switch.

Cosmetically, it is a vast improvement in appearance from the Ergonomic 4000, which was my favorite keyboard until they stopped manufacturing it.

This keyboard is terrible compared to the tried-and-true Natural 4000 ergonomic keyboard. For some reason, the volume keys are in the upper left, versus on the right, the numlock is in a weird sport, and the keys feel mushy – poor tactile feedback.

The board and they keys feel thinner than the 4000, which doesn’t feel good to type on. It also feels easier to make typos on this model compared to the 4000 series. TLDR; This is a poor replacement to the Natural 4000 keyboard.

Keys are mushy and feel more shallow. Key/button arrangement feels unnatural compared to the 4000. Keyboard cable is thinner/flimsy. Keyboard body is thinner than 4000. I realize it’s hard finding a split keyboard, let alone a keyboard marketed as “ergonomic”.

So it may be difficult to find a suitable replacement. However, I would in no way recommend this product to anyone. Microsoft, if you’re reading this, know that you seriously dropped the ball on this one.

I’ve had the keyboard for a few months now and I can honestly say it is one of the better feeling keyboards I’ve owned. The materials/build quality are great, and despite them not using more mainstream switches, Logitech’s own switches still feel nice.

Battery life has also been very good. However, there are a few drawbacks which prevent me from saying it is a five-star product. Firstly, the software experience leaves much to be desired. While it isn’t as resource heavy and prone to crashing as other companies peripheral software, it could use some much needed redesigning.

I am of the belief that the consumer shouldn’t have to Google or go to YouTube to find out how to operate software for a keyboard, and I had to do that multiple times to find out how to change lighting effects, changing lighting profiles, etc.

While it wasn’t a horrible experience in the end, it could definitely use some refinement to be more user friendly. Which brings me to my second issue with the keyboard. It uses Micro-USB instead of USB C.

At first glance, this may not seem like a big deal, but if you are trying to market this as a premium product, you probably should use modern standards for charging/data transfer. I honestly can’t remember the last time I used microUSB, and it was genuinely shocking to me that Logitech would use it instead of USB-C given the market that this keyboard is designed for.

Instead of me being able to use my phones charger or any other device that uses USB-C, I have to make sure to keep this Micro-USB cable around and it just seems both wasteful in a way, and cheap. This is made worse by the fact that other Logitech’s premium peripheral’s like their lightspeed mouse, also uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C.

Lastly, the special characters and keys that have multiple functions (like brackets, hashtags, etc) while backlit for their major function, are not backlit for their secondary function. The backlighting is nice, but not complete for some of the keys.

I would semi-frequently find myself looking for the ampersand or dollar sign keys, but because they aren’t backlight like their primary function is, it can mean looking down and squinting to find where they are.

All-in-all what I’ll say is this, Logitech continues to make good quality products and I’m happy with my purchase, but in the future, dump Micro-USB. It’s a dead connection type. Apply the backlighting effect to the full key and put a little more work into the user experience for the keyboard’s software.

Let me start off the review by saying this – I hate wires and I will pay more to avoid them! I also use this for work and gaming. That means I want a product that can game at a high level, be a great office keyboard that allows me to type and take phone calls at the same time and have a GREAT battery life so I don’t have to plug it in (again I hate cables).

Gaming – The lightspeed USB plug-in for this must be magical because I game on this competitively with ZERO lag or latency. The keys also have heald up to constant typing and the lighting doesn’t fade with use as well.

Generally – if you like the click and travel then this is a great solution because it has heald up for two years almost now with zero issues. RGB/SOftware – The Keyboard does have RGB on it and while it isn’t Corsair blow your socks off level since it is wireless – it is nice, bright, and responsive! It doesn’t currently sync with other software however you can sync all your Logitech products together and then match the color to your other software relatively easily.

The Logitech software is also REALLY good with all your battery % displayed and every setting you could imagine adjustable for your product. Office – I work from home, which means I take calls and meetings and need to be able to type and type fast without everyone knowing I am typing away.

This keyboard has the perfect “click” to be satisfying while also being quiet enough that it doesn’t sound like a typewriter. The key travel is also in my opinion perfect. It doesn’t have huge keys with seeming feet of travel with a loud click at the end.

I can easily get my 80-90wpm out and keep moving without anyone noticing. Build Quality/battery – this keyboard is SOLID. It has no deck flex or any sort of low-quality buttons or switches. The battery started to die on me at a year and 6 months but was able to RMA it with ease with the help of BestBuy at my side.

The keys don’t wear and everything still works great with constant use day in and out so at the price point it is at ~200-250 depending on the sale I would buy it every single time. Conclusion- While $200 for a keyboard is a steep price, this is one I can vouch for as it holds up and does everything it says it will to an astounding degree of quality and accuracy.

Logitech kills it again with the BEST wireless peripherals on the market.

tl;dr you don’t have to fully press the keys down to get them to register which is a huge problem for the price point, the keycaps are ABS not double-shot PBT, the software included is hit or miss, and the G keys are also hit or miss depending on if you take full advantage of the software please read the full review! let me get the negative out of the way before I get into the positive.

1. Initial impressions? after about 10 days of use I’ve noticed when I’m playing games or typing on the internet I don’t have to fully press down on the keys to get said key to register. I notice it more when I’m typing and it seems like it happens with keys that get used frequently.

“W, Backspace, Return, Spacebar. ” I can press down on the sides of the keycap and it will register as a full compression which is NOT a good look for a $250 price point. Mind you I don’t do this on purpose, I’ll be getting ready to delete something via backspace and put the SLIGHTEST amount of pressure and it will register as a press.

Nothing close to a full compression. 2. another big problem I have with Logitech specifically is they don’t give you an in depth manual for ANY OF THE FRIGGIN PRODUCTS YOU BUY. You know what comes with these devices you’re paying anywhere from $150 – $250? a very straightforward quickstart guide, a paper talking about the battery, and a packet talking about the safety instructions/warranty in 4 different languages!! You’re telling me I’m paying over $100 for both a mouse and a keyboard and the closest thing to a manual you’re gonna give me is G HUB.

At least there’s a manual for G HUB right? *on the internet* 3. a pet peeve that’s started to grow as I use this more and more is the keycaps are ABS and not double shot PBT which is INCREDIBLY disappointing especially when you consider the money you’re dishing out on this thing.

What does that mean? ABS keycaps are fingerprint magnets and they don’t tend to wear well. If you’re greasy/oily or you’re hands sweat while gaming I’d stay away. PBT keycaps? Better material and wears very well.

Sure I could go and spend more money and get a few PBT keycaps for WASD, SHIFT, and a few others, but I’m spending more money on a $250 premium keyboard that didn’t come with double-shot PBT keycaps.

also you must beware if you go to take this thing apart to clean it, the keycap clips are VERY fragile and very well may break when you try snapping them back into the switch. MIDDLE GROUND: G HUB is the software that comes with all the newer Logitech peripherals and it’s honestly a blessing and a curse.

The sky is the limit with G HUB. you can make macros that do a number of different things, change the RGB/ style to anything you want/ configure the G keys to certain things, and there’s on board memory.

This is very nifty, but G HUB is the most in depth and confusing software I have ever used. Razer Synapse was way more simple. Not to mention to use the G keys you have to go into the software everytime you turn on your PC, click you’re keyboard and activate G shift just so those 5 keys can be taken advantage of IF you have them binded to something.

I’m using 1 and 2 for DPI and it gets very annoying to have to open the software, turn on G shift and then be able to adjust my dpi via two buttons on my board. Furthermore G HUB doesn’t notify you everytime your mouse changes DPI, only when it initially turns on.

It very well could be that I’m 100% using the software wrong and all of the fixes to my issues as far as G HUB goes are right in front of my face and I’m just to foolish to see it, but it is a very complicated software.

Finally to the positives! you wont be charging the battery on this baby every other week this thing is rated for 137 hours with RGB on, it feels like I’m playing with a wired keyboard besides the double occasional double clicks.

What really drew my to this keyboard in the first place was the 2. 4GHz connection via USB dongle. It seems tough to find good keyboards that use 2. 4GHz connection via dongle. It’s also BT if that’s your thing.

It has adjustable feet with two different sizes which you don’t see very often another nice touch. I really enjoy the media control keys and I really want to enjoy my G keys but I just don’t understand G HUB enough to be able to take advantage of those currently.

Final thoughts: I’ve seen a few people say they don’t recommend this keyboard and maybe I understand why? I’m not getting the full use out of the G keys Like I wish I was because the software is crazy, the switches actuation level is very sensitive, and the keycaps suck.

I’m sure there are other reasons people don’t recommend it, but for the price and the reasons I’ve listed I can’t say I’d recommend it to someone in the market for a wireless keeb. There has got to be better keebs out there that are wireless and use a 2.

4GHz dongle.

This key board is specifically for MAC and Very popular because of having smart Illuminated and fast keys, having facility to connect Bluetooth, low energy technology, rechargeable and easy to switch keys to connect up to 3 devices.

It is rechargeable and once fully charged, its battery last up to 10 hours which is the most important bit for me. Besides this I like the keys colour which is not just white as compared to Apple. Its keys sound is simply great and fingers can be easily moved around and look wise its quite different style and look which give you better option to do more without compromising on typing speed or style of keyboard.

Brightness and music can be easily controlled by a single button which is just close to each other. I especially like its weight and the rubber grip which hold tight. Overall, very good quality keyboard along with nice packaging and boxing.

Really a great alternative if you want to change or wanted to do something more. Highly recommended.

Well, what can I say, this is such a great small keyboard. I am using it with a McBook Pro 15inches in a home setup and I have been a very happy user. The typing feeling is nice and consistent. The keyboard lighting comes in very handy for late sessions and can also be turned off as needed if you want to save on battery.

The addition of a screenshot and emoji keys are quite useful to save on a few clicks. I am mostly using it plugged as working from home so can’t comment on the battery longevity. The one thing that took me slightly by surprise is that the scale of the keyboard is different from my MacBook which means that switching from one to the other makes me mistype for a few minutes but not a big issue for me and this is not the fault of the keyboard.

All in all, I highly recommend it.

I’ve been using this for just over a week now, it has been a great replacement for my old Apple Wireless keyboard. It’s nicely built with quality materials not cheap plastic and has a solid feel to it not hollow, but at the same time it’s light and not bulky.

If you like the feel of apple keyboards but don’t like the over inflated apple prices this is a great keyboard. The key response is the perfect for me, the level of sensitivity I press the keys when I’m typing is important and it seems to pickup what I typed without double typed letters in the middle of a sentence.

It’s very easy to link via bluetooth, the battery is OK but it comes down to how often you use it and what for, I don’t think it would be good for gaming but that’s just my preference others may like it for gaming.

As for typing I highly recommend you get one.

As a senior software developer, I spend nearly all my time using a keyboard – working, gaming, chatting, etc. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and have dozens of keyboards – split, joined, ortholinear, chording.

You name it, I’ve tried it. I tried another brand’s “Red Linear” and it was awful for both the feel of the keys and the ringing noise after each press. If you’re serious about a soft touch and a good ‘warm’ keypress sound, The Huntsman Mini is in a whole new league and is highly recommended.

Perhaps it’s the optical switches, or just the build quality of the back board, but it feels fantastic. Of course, this is a 60%, so if arrow keys are important than avoid the mini, but if navigation shortcuts don’t phase you and you want a compact, full featured keyboard then look no further.

Typing speed out of the box was easily 70wpm for me with minimal errors and mis-strokes. The sensitivity seems to be dialed in perfectly. With a bit more practice on this board 100wpm+ feels easily attainable.

This is a worthy keyboard – especially for the price. Signing off, Keyboardiophile.

The Razer Huntsman Mini is the definition of SMOOTH. Firstly, the optical switches, whilst having a short travel distance, really do actuate at the speed of light as they say. And the linear switches.

Don’t get me started on those! They. Feel. CREAMY. They are so smooth that they compete with butter in terms of smoothness. And the onboard profiles give me really nice RGB effects out of the box. If you are after a keyboard that does the job extremely well, this keyboard gives you everything you need as the foundations for an excellent keyboard.

One simple recommendation is to lube the switches’ stabilisers so they don’t rattle, but you just won’t notice it in game really. Overall, this product not only single handedly saved my desk space, but also saved my eardrums as well as nailing the foundations for what makes a keyboard excellent, which, in my opinion, this product nails down exceptionally.

The razer huntsman mini is an amazing compact 60% keyboard. This white version provides a very clean layout that actually looks like an office productivity keyboard due to its non gamer-y layout with the fonts and its pristine white colour.

I was hesitant to buy this keyboard at first due to its originally premium price point, although as time passed by it has gotten so much cheaper and I was finally able to pick this up. The silicon dampeners make this keyboard sound great with minimal pinging and scratchy noises.

Absolute pleasure to type on. There is an issue connecting to a PC that has Ryzen CPU in it where it would slow down your computer on start up causing you to wait 5-10 minutes (or longer) for everything to run smoothly again.

THANKFULLY Razer did notice this issue and fixed it with a firmware update that you must MANUALLY navigate on their website in the support tab. After I downloaded it, the issue went away. I actually really love this keyboard to the point I may actually buy another one of these in black colour.

Despite some negative reviews I saw online, Razer did pretty good with this keyboard in my opinion. Just make sure to do some research first because my opinion may sound a bit lacking in detail or ambiguous.

Reason for Purchase: I had the wireless Logitech G613 keyboard and had no issues with the hardware or software. I just needed something smaller for my home desk. I have a black desk and wanted a white keyboard to go with my white PC case.

Initial Thoughts: I was hesitant to lose the Lightspeed connection, but the USB-C cable included with this TKL keyboard is attractive, long, and easy to interconnect to the back of the device. The keyboard is very good looking too and was a big reason for taking the chance with it.

Hardware: The keyboard is right-sized for my need and has pleasant feel and sound to it. This is my first entry into mechanical keyboards, so I cannot compare it to others. The color choices and patterns are wonderful! The “”Fn + arrow key”” hotkeys for switching colors and patterns were crucial to my 5 star placement.

Software: I had seen another review commenting on the poor experience with the software in managing this keyboard. I have my own experiences with the Armoury Crate software with my Rog Hero motherboard and Ryujin cooler.

Those experiences are usually poor, and in regards to the keyboard, they did not get any better. I cannot manage the keyboard with the software and refuse to troubleshoot that software any further. Final Thoughts: Buy it, skip the Armoury Crate configuration altogether!.

As the title suggests, I needed an upgrade from my chunky membrane office keyboard, I was lookin’ for MX Cherry Brown switches, in a TKL (TenKeyLess) form-factor, and a detachable cable. and that is exactly what I got! I’m an ASUS/ROG fanboi, so to match the rest of my peripherals it was the first brand I looked at, I didn’t want to get an Aorus or Razer product because all my friends have had horrible experiences with the quality, so looked at a few others, and even tried them out in-store, but this particular one I fell in love with, so here we go.

It was available in store, so reserved it, and picked it up the next day! *I got the Deluxe version, $25 more, which comes with a ROG wrist-rest* Likes – Textured Metal alloy faceplate screams high quality, with the rest of the building being a sturdy plastic.

– RGB LED’s are nice and bright, with 5 onboard customizable presets, plus a DEFAULT preset which can be cycled through the 10 different default presets. Although to change the 5 onboard presets you need Armoury ii, which is different from ROG Armoury Crate, and it took an excessive amount of searching to find the software.

– The Underglow is awesome, as it’s an 18-segment diffused strip. – The Wrist-rest is padded with perfection, the underside is the same sturdy plastic with a bit of an accent logo on the right side, although it is NOT magnetic! – The odd time that I slam my desk or keyboard, I’ve never had a problem with keycaps jumping/falling off, unlike other mechanical keyboards I tried – Detachable USB-C is an amazing feature, making it easy to take off my desk and clean, or if I need to take it somewhere.

I honestly think all keyboards should have this – Font on the keycaps is awesome, and they are fairly easy to take off for cleaning. Things to keep in mind. – Despite there being magnets in the front of the keyboard, the wrist-rest is NOT magnetic! like what was the point in putting magnetic in the keyboard of the ROG branded wrist-rest didn’t have magnetic! Ugh.

– The extended Shift key was cool, but I was a little concerned about it, but I’ve gotten used to the microscopic windows key – I wish I could universally change the incognito key (F12) to something else, I find it quite pointless.

disabling it is possible with Armoury ii, then I can change its purpose in-game, but can do anything Windows related. – When I first got the keyboard, the non-slip pads were like glue pads on my wooden desk, making it nearly impossible to slide the keyboard around.

Had to pick it up to move it the slightest bit every time, but they have become slightly worn and are much better – In summary, 5 outta 5, would highly recommend. I’ve had this thing for about 3 years now, and it is still by far my favourite mechanical keyboard, between the supreme build quality, and the features that make it stand out against something like a Corsair or SteelSeries, not disappointed at all.

TLDR: I switched to this keyboard from a cheap membrane and have used it for 3 months for both office work and gaming. My final evaluation: Mechanical is greatly overrated and not worth the cost. I came from a cheap Dell keyboard (the one that comes with your office PC).

It worked fine. I have PC gamed my whole life by I probably haven’t had a mechanical keyboard since the 90’s. So when I revamped my home office, I thought I would try mechanical again. Here’s the pros and cons: CONS – My typing accuracy plummeted.

Despite this keyboard having a very shallow engagement point, I miss keys all the time. The H is particularly bad. I will type a whole sentence and it will have no H’s. – I accidently press keys when just resting my hand.

This results in lines of repeated characters to delete, or an unintended action in a video game (which can really sabotage your game). – It’s loud. Of course I knew this going in, but it doesn’t change the fact that it makes a lot more noise than a membrane keyboard.

– No ten-key pad. Again, I knew this going in, but thought I might get used to it. I did not. Every time I type a number I wish I had the ten-key. I don’t do data entry, but I do sometimes type numbers and the ten-key makes it so much faster.

– Pointless RGB adding cost to the product. PROS – Looks good. (I do not include the RGB lights in this statement. The RGB was fun for 10 minutes but is really pointless and I forgot it existed after the first day.

) – More affordable than most mechanical keyboards.

I was looking to replace a failing keyboard and found this product during a sale, so I took the shot. At the beginning it was not really comfortable and even my children were complaining as it was easy to press the wrong key instead.

So, I got a wrist pad and everything changed, now I’m satisfied with it: good product, good quality, great configurability for multiple profiles, great price. Reason why I believe 4 stars are fair, as it is missing initial comfort, but it is easy to solve, making you get a great product for a good price.

Keys that don’t stick would be nice. Might recommend, but only if you get a good one, and the return expired (first I thought it was me, but key still down w/ my hands nowhere near proved otherwise).

What would I change? NO STICKING KEYS. That is is.

I would buy this if on a discount, but if you can very well afford it, you should buy this. Top quality, worth the price, and I don’t think any better keyboard exist, maybe because It’s my first cool RGB gaming keyboard ever.

I bought the Logitech G815, with the tactile keys because I cant make the jump from membrane keyboards to linear keys just yet (I tried a Corsair Mk. 2 k70 rapid fire linear and the actuation distance was way too low and too sensitive for me, but a great look and feeling keyboard) I do not game a whole lot and am using this keyboard for typing mostly.

The logitech G815 is a great low profile keyboard which is what i like, and i love chiclet style keyboards too. The accuracy with typing is phenomenal and I cant complain. The one aspect of the Logitech tactile keys that should be mentioned is that they are a bit harder to press.

If you have heavy typing fingers this could be good for you so you dont randomly activate keys when resting your hands on the keyboard. This isnt a bad thing as my fingers are still adjusting from years of heavy membrane keyboard use, but something to keep in mind.

The keys by no means are difficult to press, but compared to competitors you can tell the difference. For me, it helps me to not make random key activations by just sliding my hands across the keyboard.

The Logitech GHub software is a bit disappointing for me. I dont have or need multiple profiles. My problem is that the on board lighting profiles cant be saved to anything super fancy (for the price, this is a downer).

The only way to use your crazy creations is to always have GHub loaded up. For me, this is not a deal breaker becuase I love the low profile and precise keys and overall feel of the keyboard. I just would have liked to be able to change the on board light profiling to my greatest creation 🙂 without needing to load up GHub everytime.

The keys are relatively quiet, as I didnt get clicky, but are still slightly noticeable in quiet rooms. I dont really have any detrimental complaints on the keyboard, as it is a great low profile mechanical keyboard.

The lighting profiles on board are a little lacking with the price of the keyboard but I wont downgrade a star as having backlit keys and some on board lighting customization is still great for me.

Overall, if you are a gamer, this is probably a pretty sweet deal. It does have clicky keys which make it kind of loud if you type a lot, but the tactile feedback is great. The problems with it are numerous though: It was absolutely the worst idea to put a column of keys to the left of the main keypad.

I am forever getting upset that my control key combos aren’t working when I realize that I’m not hitting the control key, I’m hitting G3 or G4. Same with the shift key. This is the second biggest design flaw on this keyboard.

Having that relatively useless set of custom keys on the left causes me to always mess up where I put my hands. I have to start typing before I realize that I am off by two letters. In order to accommodate the new switches, the keys stand up a lot taller than normal.

If you don’t have a wristpad, you will constantly be hitting the bottom row of keys when you don’t mean to. So this happens a lot: You reach over with your left pinky to hit the control key and instead open a new Chrome Window.

You find your way back to your post that you have been working on forever and you try to Capitalize the letter A, but because your hands are off, you just hit ctrl-A without realizing it. Now whatever you type erases all your hard work.

This happened to me dozens of times before I got a wrist pad and could elevate my hands high enough to avoid hitting the bottom row of keys by accident. A wrist pad is required for anyone who types. The fancy light-up effects are useless for designers or coders though they do have some neat effects.

However, when it lights up the keys, it doesn’t light up the symbol keys. Trying to remember which symbols go with which keys turns out to be a real hassle. $%(*#&@) You have to remember. It’s not like the SHIFT key would change the keys and light up their associated symbols (like it should).

Also, the keys come off all the time. Regularly I have to find a key that popped off and is sitting in my desk drawer for some reason. The USB Cables (yes, cables) that power it are pretty big and unwieldy–it’s best to set it where you will use it and don’t move it.

The volume control gimmick is just that, it’s a gimmick. Though it comes with Macros, there is no way to reassign keys. So if you are like everyone else on the planet and you never use the CAPS LOCK key, too bad, Every day about 10 times I hear the chimes going off that I have accidentally turned on and then off the caps lock–totally annoying.

Also annoying is that if you have a second (or third) keyboard that you use on occasion, you will get the CAPSLOCK message on screen for each keyboard every time you accidentally hit it. There is no excuse other than Logitech’s incompetence for not allowing the CAPSLOCK key to be disabled.

Overall, it’s the best keyboard they make and it’s a good thing this is the first round. Hopefully they will invest some time in fixing all of the problems. Ideally, they would release a professional keyboard that had the same keys and less of the pretty lights and fancy, but really dumbed-down, user interface.

Also, I had my first one for a week and the Enter Key stopped working. After jumping through hoops for 3 weeks, I finally got them to replace it. Not a good look for a brand new product.

Was very excited when I first bought this because I generally love Logitech products, but this keyboard has proven to be the exception. The updated G Hub software needed to program the keyboard is extremely bad, and forced me to use this new app with all my other Logitech devices as well, which were previously working just fine with the old Logitech Gaming Software, but now I have problems with these devices daily because of the awful “updated” software I’m forced to use.

I learned to deal with the software problems but now just barely six months after buying the keyboard I already have a broken keycap. This keyboard seems to be of extremely solid construction, except for some inexplicable reason the keycaps are attached to the switches with just two tiny flimsy plastic clips.

If you want to remove the keycaps and clean your keyboard with any regularity, you WILL end up breaking these fragile clips off and end up unable to reattach the keycaps to the switches. I’ve bought keyboards that were a fraction of the cost of this one that proved to be way more durable.

I’ve never had keys just break on a keyboard like this, and I’ve spent most of my life for the last two decades in front of one for at least eight hours every day. Extremely disappointed, this keyboard is way too expensive to have such a stupid and glaring design flaw.

I have done a ton of research before buying this keyboard and comparing specifically other low profile mechnical tkl keyboard. The G915 Tkl does not disappoint let me assure you. The wireless latency speed, the best mid point within actuating force on the keys, where it feels enough to get a light type but not so light that it just presses on it self making a ton of typos.

The battery life is absolutely insane, the size of the keyboard on the thickness is perfect because it feels like a mechanical laptop keyboard. Its low enough to rest your wrist on the desk and not have to bend your hand so up to type.

Its so easy on the wrist. And because it has the perfect amount of actuating force, its so easy on the fingers even if you type for hours. Also because its low profile, the linear switches are actually more quiter than the usual cherry mx mechanical linear switches.

The only minor down fall is that its probably the most expensive keyboard out there. But i would have to say, i do not regret or think twice about buying this. If it was valued around what other mechanical keyboards are priced maybe around 100, i would def give 5 stars for this.

This keyboard has all the features I was looking for 1. Individually backlit mechanical switches. I can customise the keys to my hearts content and have layouts for each game. I dim/turn off keys not being used so I’m not distracted by them.

The mechanical switches also give great reliability and typing pleasure. 2. Low profile and with awesome brushed aluminum finish. Just so aesthetically pleasing. I like a stealthy black/grey tone set up so choosing this keyboard was a no brainer.

3. Lightspeed wireless – reduce desk clutter, reliable and fast technology, and still awesome battery life. 4. Automatic profile switching via G Hub – recognises which game I’m playing and the keyboard enters my custom layouts.

Then, when I switch to work, I’m back to a fully lit no nonsense layout without having to do anything. Spent a bit of money for it but if I think about it, I probably won’t buy a keyboard again for 5 or even 10 years.
