13 Best Jump Rope For Kids (2023 Updated)

My 6 year old wanted to learn to jump rope. in store I could only fine the “rope” style. with the plastic on these they get an auditory cue that the rope is coming and she had jump rope mastered in about 1 week.

I also like that it has enough weight that if it is windy outside the plastic ropes still will work, the other rope ones are too light and don’t work on windy days.

My son loves this jump rope so much especially because it lights up different colors that are all very bright and the faster you jump the faster the lights change. It’s probably one of the best jump ropes we have ever owned and works great.

The handles have great support so that they don’t slip through your hands. I highly recommend this jump rope.

Kids loved it, I even liked it too! It lights up, though not very bright. It comes coiled up so it took a while for it to stay flat. Which made it hard to use for a while. Would be nice if there was a light button on both handles so you don’t have to look to see which one it on.

Very pretty colors, nice packaging, not so easy to remove, but i suppose its good for security reasons.

Got this for my eight year old daughter as she loves to jump rope and thought this would be different for her since it lights up. She loves the light feature and I was surprised that there are two settings of lights.

My only thought is that I wonder if the lights will eventually not work but for now it’s a nice product for her. Cool.

We use this product for party favors . They were a big hit . I will definitely purchase again.

I purchased these to go into 2017 Christmas Shoeboxes to be sent to children around the world who have nothing. I like that they are packaged separately with a rubber band around them. This allows for more things to be put into the shoeboxes.

I had ordered these for the 2016 Christmas and looked at one then. They are well made and suited for a child to have lots of fun. That is why I came back to Oriental Trading to order the jump ropes again when they offered free shipping.

I like that I can order a dozen of most toys to distribute among the shoeboxes. And the prices are great if you hit the sales and free shipping when offered.

The jump ropes are very cheap. They are so lightweight that our West Texas winds raise havoc on trying to use them. My students are only 7 years old and the rope is just a bit too short.

I was surprised to see how tiny each individual pkg. of a jump rope is. When I opened one I remembered they are plastic jump ropes. It’s nice that they are individually wrapped. I thought I would put up one for display and leave the others wrapped.

The one I opened took a lot of hand stretching to get the kinks out and still probably need to be hung for quite a while for the “rope” to look straight. I haven’t tried them out with children yet, but 7 ft.

is a very appropriate size for K and primary grade children.

These are so nice! They have a good weight to them so they swing well and they’re thick enough to not sting so bad when you catch your ankle. The simplicity of knots as the handles is great and makes them playing snakes with it slightly less terrifying to watch.

After several not great jump ropes, it is so exciting to find one that works for us- my eldest has been able to use it for it’s intended purpose, seems silly but I wish I could say the same for previous jump ropes.

My littlest (3) uses it as a fire hose, a tow truck rope, and so on. Really a very lovely outdoor toy.

My daughters (8 and 4) both love this jump rope. We love that the handle is adjustable by wrapping around it around your hand and the quality is top notch. It has not frayed from hitting the ground. We love this jump rope.

I purchased three different styles of jump ropes to preview before purchasing additional ropes for gym for elementary children. The segmented skip rope was the easiest to use for novice jumpers. The sound of it hitting the floor or pavement is a helpful timing cue, and the cord does not get tangled readily.

The other two ropes I tried were purchased from Walmart, produced by Spectrum. The Spectrum speed jump ropes would, I think, be useful for speed jumping by intermediate jumpers; I did not care for the spectrum nylon rope jump ropes because they did not hold their open shape unless turned fairly fast.

This review is for the 8′ segmented rope; the other lengths of segmented rope that I tested (7′, 16′) also worked fine.

I bought these for my daughters ages 10 & 12. These are heavy enough that they swing easily, unlike some rope material jump ropes. They are the prefect height for my girls, but I’d say anything much over 12 years old would need the 8’ jump rope.

My only complaint is that a few days after we got them, one side of the rope came out of the handle so I had to take 2 of the rings off to have enough slack to tie a new knot at the end. Overall, my girls are happy with them.

It is a good rope for a young person to use. Turns well. Easy to use. Easy to grip. Liked the different ropes as well.
