20 Best Jeans For Wide Hips (2023 Updated)

I would have kept these beautiful jeans. I loved the color. I had to return them because they were like 2 maybe 3 sizes small. I haven’t bought another pair because I’m not sure what size to reorder.

This is the best-fitting, most comfortable stretch jean on the market, I believe. No pinching or nipping at waist, flexible to bend or squat in, and they do not pull down in the rear or belly, giving you that “hip hugger” feel, where you are constantly yanking them back up.

True to size. Molds your curves nicely. They do shrink a bit in laundering & drying, so if you’re between a petite and a regular in leg length, go with regular! I love mine, have in 2 colors, and will probably get the 3rd.

Overall I like these jeans. They are very soft and did well in the wash. The pair I got had a slight flaw on one thigh and the other, left discoloration where the sticky tags were:( I have a hard time knowing what size to order because I tend to be in between sizes.

I ordered the larger size and wished I had ordered the size down. I think it is because of the curvy fit, although, I do like how the back is taller than the front! One thing I didn’t like about these jeans is that the front pockets are way too shallow! Totally useless front pockets.

Love the color.

Lee Brand pants come in many different materials. This one has a high cotton content, and it’s thin. So it already has little balls forming on the upper inner thigh area after wearing it once. This does not happen with the other Lee Modern Series Curvy Fit offerings.

So I will be saving this pair for special events and washing by hand to help preserve them.

I first purchased these jeans in-store in Florida a year and a half ago. They were so comfortable and a perfect fit, with just the right balance of heaviness and stretch. The main reason I loved them is because they left room for my stomach while not sagging elsewhere.

I was excited to get these in the mail but was sorely disappointed! The fabric felt cheap and scratchy, I couldn’t button them at all (and if anything I lost some of my belly, not gained). I expect more consistency from a brand like Levi, and that is not what I received.

For reference, I am 5ft 7in and a size 4; I can’t go into a six because then pants are big everywhere else except my over 50 stomach. If you have no issue with proportion, you may like the fit.

If you were a huge fan of modern skinny, they have unfortunately switched modern skinny to mid rise skinny and they are NOT the same. The old modern skinny were soft and stretchy, these are stiff, very tight at the ankles with little stretch.

Plus they are mid rise so low in the back. SOOO disappointing, the whole switch and bait!.

I ordered these jeans off the item number on the size tag and ordered the same siz I currently have. The new jeans fit like they are a full size larger than the ones I have. They look to be the same in every way other than the fit.

Of course I took the tags and washed them before I tried them on. I’ve bought these jeans for a number of years and all of a sudden they run big. Just my luck.

I am 5’2 and was skeptical about ordering these when I saw another short reviewer complain about them but figure I would order them anyway since they were in the Nordstrom sale, and I’m really glad I gave them a chance! I had them hemmed (cut off just 2 inches) and they were perfect!! Even if I left them the original length and folded the bottom hem they would have been cute! I am 110 pounds and ordered size 26 and have curvy legs-but I get compliments in these jeans all the time.

They are really flattering. Unlike other Levis that I ordered from Nordstrom that were super thick material, this is thin and I love that they’re much lighter. These are my new favorites!.

These jeans are lighter than regular heavyweight jeans. Nice fabric, fit very well, well made and a great buy for the price. I ordered one pair, just to see how they were. After i got them and wore them, I liked them so much, I bought three more pairs.

I’m so happy with these jeans that I plan on buying more pretty soon. My job as a prep cook for one of the only restaurants open in my small town keeps me running around all day. Sometimes I absolutely have to wait till the last minute to get to the bathroom and fussing with a belt is just not where it’s at.

That’s why I love love love these! Also, the wider waistband has plenty of support so you won’t look dumpy like other pants with elastic waistbands.

These fit like a glove! Proportionately Hugs through waist, hip and thigh without being too tight. I hope they retain their shape. I love them (so far) not sure how they will wear and wash. But I have High hopes! you really can’t find good trouser like flare jean like this anywhere.

Dress them up or down! Super flattering and trendy but also a timeless retro classic! They are the perfect flare. 5’7″ 180 and got size 32, 34 inseam. definitely a one trick pony I will only be able to wear these with some sort of heel, platform or wedge for fun spring/ summer boho vibe.

I want to get a short inseam to wear with birks! Love them. The flare is perfect for example they completely cover my mirja Swedish hasbeens which is exactly what I wanted! Just a peek of the shoe as you walk.

Will probably look great with high platform espadrilles as well. Super excited to wear them. Side note. I exchanged from a different color to these lighter ones and I’m super glad I did! This color actually feels more structured so I was very pleased.

Okay, so here we go. I got a pair of these jeans for Christmas this year. At the time, they fit perfect but after losing a bit of weight and the normal wear of the jeans, they became a little baggy. Let’s fast forward to this week, I couldn’t stand not having another pair of these jeans.

I took the dive and ordered a size 26. I originally thought I was a 28. I got these jeans yesterday and freaked out because I thought they wouldn’t fit over the badonkadonk that I have plastered on the back of my 5’4 frame.

I wiggled and squirmed and to my amazement, they hugged the booty PERFECTLY. Wrangler, you outdid yourself with these pants. I must say I am beyond impressed with the style, support, and all around vibe of these pants.

I would own 30 pairs in different colors and patterns if provided and my wallet could afford it. I already have another pair ordered through boot barn than seem to be discontinued on here. I cannot express my love for these jeans in words other than HOLY BOOTY!.

These are a nice looking pair of flair jeans. They are a nice wash, they are nice quality denim, and have a little bit more of a wide leg trouser fit rather than the fit and then flared out look that some other flare jeans have.

They do run a little bit small in my opinion. I’m consistently a 29 in jeans but the 30 fit me best. Unfortunately the rise was not high enough for me. I think a 10. 5″ or 11″ rise looks best with flared jeans.

The rise on these hits below my belly button. I wish they had the rise measurement in the product details like some other jeans do. I’ll be returning them and will continue my search for the perfect flare high rise jean.

I bought these jeans after I saw them in a youtuber’s review, and I am SO glad that I did! As someone with about a 15 inch difference between her waist and hips, it’s extremely difficult for me to find pants that don’t fit huge at the waist and too tight everywhere else.

These are perfect because they’re super stretchy, which means you can buy a size that is true to your waist measurement and then the stretch will take care of the hips and butt. They are incredibly long but I still wore them and liked the slouchy look they had with my sneakers (I am 5’3″ and had about 4 extra inches of fabric while barefoot).

I’m usually a 18… or 1x on top 2x on the bottom. Read all the reviews which sometimes aren’t all that helpful!! One says omg size down then the next says no size up!!?? Really like wth!!?? Or the “love it!” nope not helpful at all!! That being said I sized down to a 16 and they are perfect! I have thick thighs and a booty but smaller waist and a 16 fits perfect.

They are super stretchy which is great! They might be a little long for most…. I’m 5”9 and they hit the floor. Im not a jeans person, they just never fit right, but these hug your curves, are super comfy and extremely flattering.

Beautiful color, no bleeding from washing, lovely fit. Four stars because If you’re short, you’ll need to take these to a tailor for alterations or wear VERY tall shoes. Also, these are high waisted which I was highly disappointed about honestly because I wasn’t wanting pants that come up past my bellybutton.

I’m 5’10” 145# 59 year old who’s worn NY&C jeans for over 30 years. These closely match my favorite wide legs from 2010. Length is perfect for me in flats. I feel confident in these jeans and I really appreciate the lack of details on the back pockets.

The fit and the length is great. I didn’t have to get them cut off. The material feels good against my skin. Soft to the touch.

I wish these came in curvy. Just didn’t work with my hourglass figure. Length was good, but the rest fell flat.

So the waist of these jeans fit very high and tight and supportive for this mom of three bod. I really like that aspect. But then the legs just flare out so wide. I have thin, toned legs. I could probably fit two of my legs in one side comfortably.

I don’t know if that’s the style, the wide leg all the way down? If it’s not then they kind of look ridiculous on me. The bell on the bottom of these jeans is huge! The pictures in this ad are misleading.

I thought the bottom would be a modest flare but I feel like im back in the early 2000’s wearing JNCO jeans. And the material is really abnormally heavy at the bottom. And the leg length is long. Would probably need a hem, bc they drag on the floor otherwise.

The petite fit wasn’t available in my size when I decided to pull the trigger. I’m 5’2″ and don’t usually buy petite fit. Also I don’t know what shoes bedside converses that can be worn with this style? I just don’t really know if I like these or not.

I bought these jeans per recommendation of the size chart but they stretch out terribly! I thought I could wash and dry them and they would fit better but they just stretch right back out and look real baggy, which I don’t want.

So I washed them again in hot water and dried them an extra long time and they’re still too stretchy. And now I can’t exchange them for a smaller size. So buyer beware. I would like to go a size down but they won’t let me.

Plus the petite size was way too long so I had to take it to a seamstress and have her take off a couple inches. That cost me an extra $12.

I have been looking for some wide leg, high waisted jeans for a while and these are really comfortable! I only took a start off because I wish they offered their plus sizes in shorter lengths. I’m 5ft and got a size 20 because I usually am an 18/20 in old navy jeans.

The 20s fit great but the inseam goes way past my feet! there is no way anyone my size or height could get these pants without having to alter the length. Luckily, my mom is a great seamstress. The point is, plus sized bodies do not only exist on people who are 5 ft 11in! Some of us are short.

I’m a pear shape so jeans never fit my hips/thighs AND my smaller waist. Always buy to fit hips and thighs and pay another $47 to have them taken in at the sides of the waist and take off the length.

For plus size women, designers typically are overly generous in the belly and not in the hips and thighs. Pear shapes don’t usually have such a large belly as apples. Apple shapes are bigger in front and often flat in back.

This jean is best for pears and bubble butts. I am 5-4 3/4″ tall so not regular and not petite. Also plus size. My jeans are perfect in the hips and thighs but a little too big in the lower legs. Straight legs typically leave little extra room for calves because my extremities are more muscular than others.

The high rise fits my waist better than other jeans. I have been waiting since the early 90’s for better fitting jeans. I am going to buy a lot and put some away. The jeans material is a good heavy weight.

Color did not fade when washed in hot water. (Trying to shrink before I go to the tailor. ).

I used to be able to buy old navy jeans online and they’d fit without fail. Well, within the past few years that hasn’t been the case. Something with the fit has changed, which is so unfortunate. I can’t put my finger on it but I’ve noticed a change in the hip area (seems to create bulk) and the waist is too loose.

The older jeans used to have a nice snug fit at the waist (but comfortable!) while giving enough room in the butt area and really flattering and fitted through the hips. Oh well, guess I’ll have to go somewhere else for my perfect jean now.

As a nineties teen, I adored palazzos. Reincarnated, I wore them as wide legged trousers and pants in the 2000s (mostly Old Navy at that point, honestly). The last 15 years of skinnies have been abysmal for my thighs and fashion sense.

Girls with curves and thighs, rejoice! These are fabulously flattering and forgiving. A bit larger these days after children, I still feel confident sporting this silhouette. Comfortable on my between-14/16 hourglass hips in a 14.

I love the way ON has inclusive sizing and the way these jeans fit. I shop for myself and my girls because of the petite lengths on jeans/pants, so I appreciate ON for making them. ON needs to increase the volume on their petite sizing.

I think they don’t make enough though because it’s always sold out first. So please keep this in mind ON corporate. Make more jeans/pants for us shorter gals or teens who aren’t done growing and need the petite sizing.

Another BIG ASK. Please make the front pockets for women a little bit deeper. It’s not too much to ask, just a few inches more. We want to keep our phones in our front pockets instead of the back. We don’t want things falling out of our pockets if we sit down.

Deeper pockets PLEASE. Besides the short pockets, I love everything about these jeans. They are on trend, but not over the top.

I love these. They are so cute I did size up more than my recommended size and I am happy I did. They make my elephant legs look trendy. It was a little tight on my tummy but they should stretch a little with wear.

They give a nice shape and I feel comfortable. They are tighter on my thighs but I have large thighs. I think they look and feel good. Definitely higher quality jeans than some other Old Navy options.

The length was perfect for my 5′ 7″ body as well.

I have never loved a pair of jeans like I love these. I have gotten so many compliments on these from random women on the street. They fit like a GLOVE initially and then stretch out a fair amount after sitting for several hours, especially in warmer, humid weather.

I am 5’11, 250 lbs and usually wear a 16-18 at Old Navy. The jeans pictured are a size 18 regular length. I love these so much but the stretching out is enough that I’m going to have them taken in a bit in the hip/waist, as well as order them in a smaller size because I will probably be wearing these amazing jeans every day for forever.

These were almost exactly what I wanted but just my luck they run big and they don’t offer size 0 in tall but they do for every other length. Very frustrating. I will probably keep these but will take them in myself.

They are long enough (almost too long tbh) and I couldn’t be happier with the length being 5’10” long enough pants are hard to come by. I am glad old navy offers tall sizes but they need to offer smaller sizes when all of their pants run so big.

I am not a size 0 in any other brand so I couldn’t imagine someone smaller than me ordering from old navy. Jeans are great if you literally any other size than 0 tall.

Finally tall jeans that are actually tall. I am 6’2″ with a 36″ inseam and these skim the floor and fall perfectly with a pair of birkenstocks. I got my normal size 16 and at first i thought they were going to be too tight but once over the hips the waist fit perfectly snug and you can tell this type of jean is going to stretch out to the perfect size with a bit a wear.

I think if i would go up a size they would eventually become too big and baggy. I wish old navy would make more tall jeans that are TALL and not ankle length. Winner for us TALL LADIES!.

GET YOUR SIZE! I sized up reading the reviews and of course they were too big. Not worth the hassle to send them back so I’m hoping a wash and dry will shrink them a little. I just had a baby so I gained weight and still wear my normal size in FN jeans.

I think if I got my size they’d fit much better but still cute. Fit my butt and thighs okay, little baggy but kind of cute but waayyy too big around my waist, def tall girl friendly which I love. I’m 6’1, 180lbs and I wear a 13 usually, got a 15.

I usually wear a 9 in fashion nova stretchy jeans but w the mixed reviews about sizing I was confused what size to get. im 5 8 and 190 small waist. thick in thighs and butt. When I opened these I did not think they were sliding past my thighs but they did no problem.

They have a nice stretch to them , comfortable. They do not look like they yave stretch but they do. They have good length as well. I like these alot.

I got these jeans as they’re reminiscent of what I used to rock in high school. Maaaan. LOVE. THEM. I went a size up because I wanted them a little bit wider in the legs for that baggier look. However, FashionNova comes through again! Now I’ve been working out to keep my butt exactly where it needs to be and better.

Please make wide leg jeans in light colors that are not ripped. faded sections are fine, but I am too old for ripped. In the summer, looser clothes are cooler, but dark jeans trap heat, whereas light colored denim is an awesome sunscreen! Just Cana’t be tight! must be loose for air to circulate and cool a person.

Also – the wide leg jeans are necessary for those of us with the curviest figures who can’t take having things tight. Most “breathable” leggings still make me feel like I can’t breath because I have problems with rayon and Lycras and polyester in general.

Also, the lack of air literally makes me feel hotter than anything. I will try the “straight” jeans in this color (but thankfully not ripped!) but most “straight” jeans fit me like skinny jeans. and skinny jeans aren’t even an option.

And boot cut are the worst for curvy – since it just looks like our thoughts and hips are too big for a pair of straight ish jeans. Also – anything tight up top, feel hot. Truly – I want more wide leg that are wide all the way down, not barreled or tapered or jogger fit.

It only accentuates the fact that I am shaped like an old fashioned light bulb – plus – no air circulation.

I have wide leg jeans from old navy in size 6 that fit perfectly, read some reviews on this pair and ordered a size 4. I have curvier hips/thighs and smaller waist, and always struggle getting pants that fit my thighs.

They size 4 came in and I need even smaller, a 2 or maybe even a 0. They were HUGE on the waist and way baggier than expected (and I love the baggy fit). Great ego boost for me but annoyed bc now I need to exchange.

So maybe even size down 2 sizes!! They are also really long, (I’m 5’5″) so maybe order petite.

I really wanted to like these. The color was good and the fabric felt nice. Maybe I just got the odd pair in the batch but they just didn’t fit right, felt like they were trying to ride a little sideways.

Immediately took them off and returned.

The waist fit fine and I loved the faded black non stretch denim however the leg was just too wide. I felt like I had Jncos on from being in middle school. I’m down with the wide leg trend but these are just too wide.

I’m returning 😩.

These have a lot of stretch, but still have consistency. The fabric is durable looking, has a nice dark color and not a thin weight, but not super heavy either. The waist is not too high, hips and thighs are fitted.

I love the flare leg! It is enough to balance out a curvier shaped figure. If you have larger legs, the flare has a better balance than a boot cut fit. I am 5’5″ and usually wear 18 short, but to fit hips and thighs go up to 20 short.

The length is perfect, hips and thighs perfect, waist is big on me. I’ve not washed them yet or worn them all day, but my initial thoughts are great! I also bought the black ones and they are almost identically made, fit, style etc.

These jeans are amazing. I have so much trouble getting a flattering pair of attractive jeans that. fit properly. I finally found the ones! They are well made, stylish and fit like a dream. I am 5′ 1″ tall and weigh 136lbs.

I purchased size 10 to allow for my generous tummy. The length is regular since I love the “puddling” trendy look. Just perfect !!.

I wanted to love these jeans so badly, as flare jeans are hard to find, but I agree with another reviewer who said that while the fit in the the waist, hips, and upper legs was good, the size of the pant at the knee was huge! It looked so unflattering.

I compared it to a previous flare version I had from years ago, and it is so much bigger. Wish they were a keeper, but I had to return.

Bought these for my 10 year old daughter for school. She LOVES how they look. I measured her inseam to make sure they would fit nicely. I hate the look of ankle length wide leg pants, they’re dumb, but the petite fits her really well without dragging on the ground or exposing her ankle.

The holes on the jeans are exactly like what’s pictured IMO. The knee holes ARE pretty decent sized but that’s what she likes, so no complaints from me. Pictured is her wearing a size 8 petite. I believe we measured her inseam at around 34″.

She’s probably around 5’2″.

These might have been OK if they didn’t have giant holes cut out of the knees. The giant knee holes were not shown in the picture. Very misleading to show a different item that has just a little discreet distressing.

Also they were at least a foot too long for me. There is no way they were only 31 inches. I didn’t measure but they felt like 36 to 38 inches. I could make arm covers with the extra fabric. Really disappointing.

I’m 5’10. 5 and need at least a 35inchesand these were perfect, not too long or too short! The waist seems to run slightly tighter so maybe size up. I feel like I’m back in high school with these. I uploaded 3 pics and the jeans are definitely wider than the seem in the pic.

I went up a size because they were a touch tight at the top button but also because the next size draped beautifully in long lines, flowing like liquid denim. I am 5’9″ and they were just the right length in regular to not drag on the floor but still look long.

You can see on the model she has the smallest size she can wear and it’s quite fitted and then wide. Since I went up a size mine still fit but aren’t that tight and therefore look a bit looser throughout in a good way.

The reason it works is because the denim itself is lightweight, perhaps thinner than usual. So it really melts and flows. If it were regular thicker denim it would probably be too stiff and heavy. Anyway I am really happy because the jeans are different than all my other jeans and feel fashionable to wear.

To start with, I ordered these jean in August in my regular size(20) and they were a little tight, but to be fair I have IBS and so some days I bloat. So I ordered these jeans again 2 weeks ago in a size larger (22) thinking this would give me the extra space I need on those bloated days, WRONG!!! They were just as snug as they first pair, so I measured these against the waist of the size 20 jeans and it was exactly the same.

Also, these are supposed to be “boot cut” mine were so tight in the legs they could pass for rock star skinny jeans. I also ordered my jeans length in long, and what I got was definitely not long length, they were 4 inches shorter than the first pair I ordered.

Not sure what is up with quality control, but this issue needs to be corrected. This is the 3rd pair of weird fitting jeans that I’ve bought from O. N. in a row now, and all were off in some way with sizing or cut.

I’m done even trying denim from here. Too bad they won’t bring back their curvy line of jeans, those fit me like a dream. #bringbackoldnavycurvyjeans.

I think I have all of their bootcut jeans now. The light wash is a smidge shorter than the medium wash. I have longass legs and the regular version are barely long enough, but long length is never in stores.

They work and I love the fit. ON please don’t make your jeans shorter. It’s hard as all get out to find jeans long enough for a large part of the population. Just keep making all your jeans available in short length so you can keep everyone happy! And yes, the high waist version is perfecto 10,000 stars for those.

Please make a shorter version for others and KEEP the ones you have for us crazy long limb aliens. PLEASE!!!!.

First of all, I’ve been buying Old Navy Jeans for over 15 years because of the tall section. I haven’t changed sizes the last 10. I get that it every but will fit the same, but these were extremely small.

I get that they’re non-stretch, but doesn’t that mean you make them a more relaxed fit?? That’s what I was hoping from these. I would have sized up as well, but since being more “size inclusive” they got rid of their 20 tall and longs all together.

These hardly went up to my mid-thigh. Also why is every pair of jeans button fly? It’s not a look thing because it’s a hidden button fly that looks no different than a zipper. They invented the zipper more than 100 years ago, let’s stick with that unless it’s a design choice for looks.

I love the higher waist but I still had some gapping. I ordered a petite and they were still long. I feel like other brands jeans aren’t as gappy, I tried on the non-curvy jeans at ON and the waist is comically large.

I feel like this whole line needs to go back to the drawing board, the fit is just off. Same with the regular high waist straight leg jeans, the knees are baggy, you can see it in the models pictures too.

Also, this whole line can’t be found in stores, very disappointing for a company all about body equality. I’m sure they can spare a few shelves for us that women aren’t shaped like a shaped like a cardboard box.

I’d send these back but it’s not worth the hassle or the disappointment when the next size down doesn’t fit.
