I am taller than average, and have narrow torso and small of back area. While these still have the usual EB issue of a little too much fabric in the tummy, which then causes a droopy crotch, and a little less in back rise than preferred – I like a high rise in front and back, I think it’s not as bad as usual.
The thing is – these don’t have saddlebag pooches, but they are just the right amount of relaxed in the thighs. So often, I get good fit in other places, then the thighs are tight and the co depends on the stretch of the fabric to make up for fit issues.
These are comfy enough to wear frequently and not just occasionally, and even to wear at home. Granted, I prob could have worn a size down, but I don’t like casual jeans to be tight. These are relaxed without being slouchy.
And I like the tall option since it fits better overall and doesn’t pull my pants down at the waist when I bend my knees. They are called high-waisted, but really they just sit at your waist. Nice bit of stretch, but don’t bag out much.
I ordered these jeans after waiting what seemed FOREVER for this basic straight leg style to be available in petite sizes. EB jeans have been my go-to jeans for several years. I love the idea of these being made from recyled plastic bottles.
They are however, not like my old favorite hi waist, straight leg EB jeans. These are stretchier and baggier. I think they stretch out a lot more by the end of the day. I think the leg is cut a bit wider than previously.
They are quite comfortable out of the package. I ordered the light wash and it does look very light and very worn–not quite what I was hoping for. I’m giving these 4 stars instead of 5 because I like my old ones better–they were perfect! These are OK to pretty good.
I love the idea that these are made of recycled plastic. I’m not as enthused about them in real life. I waited what seemed like FOREVER for the petite version of hi waist straight leg jeans to come back into stock.
This version is it but they are not as perfect in my opinion as the older style. The leg seems to be cut wider so the fit is baggier and the material has a lot more stretch. They stretch out quite a lot by the end of the day.
They are very comfortable–just don’t fit quite like what I used to. I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because they aren’t my favorite jeans anymore. They’ll do for now but as much as I hate jean hunting I may search for something that I love instead of just like.
Ordered these in regent wash and black. I got the 4×28 because I have these jeans in a size 6×28. I get them, and they are too short so when I measure the inseam it’s barely even 27inches. Okay…I call and the customer service is super helpful, says they’ll send another pair.
I get the new pairs quick. Measure them both. Same thing. Now how are you selling jeans and literally not getting the inseam correct? I call customer service. They say they can do nothing and just say yeah sorry just return them.
Like what?? How can you not send me jeans with the length that I ordered?? So apparently 4×28 is actually 4×26-27. Craziness. Super bummed that they didn’t try harder whatsoever. Love the fit in the waist and they are comfy but apparently they lie about the length or just don’t care enough to make it right.

I love the fit of these jeans. Finally a straight leg pant that looks like a straight leg for those with curvy hips! I’ve tried other Madewell curvy straight leg styles, and most are a skinny jean from the knee up, and straight/flared calf.
This style fits truly straight from hip to ankle! I got my regular Madewell curvy size. For reference I am 25. 5” waist and 38” hip and got these in size 25. No waist gap. My one gripe is that these jeans are not black.
They are a dark grey or washed black at best. The color looks many shades lighter than what’s shown in the model photos or product photos online.
So after a lifetime of searching for good jeans I finally found THE pair. Sounds dramatic, right? Well I’m pretty excited about them. As someone with a bigger behind/thighs and small waist finding jeans that fit without having to wear a belt has been impossible.
They are actually high waisted and sit on my waistline, not an inch below like all others. They are snug but flattering, with just the right amount of give. I went a size down as Madewell is always a little big.
I’m 4’11, 100lbs with 23. 5 waist/36 hips. I got 23p. These are perfect. No waist gap, the inseam hovered right above the floor and was the full length style. I cut a few inches off to go for an ankle style but either look cute! I thought the rise wouldn’t be high enough but it’s a perfect! Right above the belly button and very flattering! Fabric is high quality with a little stretch, not too much.
For reference, I got a sz 23 in the regular petite, and it did not fit me at all! Waist was too low and huge waist gap. I love this pair, make more in different colors please!.

The pants are beautiful. The length is just like the pictures. i am 5. 3 in. 115 los. The waist rises to my belly bottom. Sadly I had to return because the pants is too tight around the calf. It presses so much it hurts.
For reference I have very skinny legs. So something went wrong with the measurements while creating the pants. I don’t think anybody can wear these comfortably because I don’t know many people who have skinnier calves than mine.
I bought 2 pairs of 28s and 2 pairs of 27, one tall and one regular fit of both sizes. I ended up keeping the 27s because they fit better. The others fit but as you wear them, they stretch and are too sloppy.
But I love the different lengths. The talls come below my ankle. The short right above. Perfect for different outfits and shoes!.
The inseam is petite but they forgot that usually shorter legs equals a shorter torso. The crotch in these is ridiculously long to the point that it bunches up awkwardly when sitting and is too low when walking.
They’re supposed to be “curvy fit” but the waist gap is huge on these compared to other Loft curvy fit jeans I have. I do not recommend.

I am someone who dislike wearing jeans. I find that most jeans are too stiff, too thin or straight up doesn’t fit right. I was skeptical to try Ann Taylor’s jeans at first but decided to try it since they had 50% off over the holidays.
I do not regret my decision at all! I love it so much that I bought two more colors. So I have all three colors now. My favorite color it has to be the vintage stone but they’re all great. They fit just right for my petite frame (5’0).
The length is a bit long. I will need to take 2-3 inches off, but it’s not a big issue for me. Go buy these jeans now!.
These fit me well, and I do like the quality – they’re heavy jean material (not for summer!) and feel as if they’d last for a long time. I like the mid-rise – they don’t tighten around the top so as not to create muffin top.
I’d rather have it a little tighter to keep my tummy in 🙂 but that’s what shapewear is for. ***I found these to be pretty short – ankle or just above ankle – which is primarily why I don’t like them.

I purchased size 35 and when I tried them on I fell in love! The quality is superb! These jeans held me in in all of the right places. No camel toe, no gap in the waist, no muffin top. Just pure perfection! The material is stretchy but not the flimsy kind….

I am usually a size 4/27 but due to recent weight gain, I now need a size 6/28. I purchased these jeans in a curvy 27 regular length and I am so happy I did! These jeans felt very tight at first but they adjust to your body.
They hold you in so well, they feel like jeans with shapewear! I have worn them twice and they seem to retain their shape and that magical elasticity! They look and feel like real jeans, not jeggings, and the back pockets are flattering to my shape.
I believe they will still look good and hold their shape when I go back to my pre-covid weight! The regular length is slightly long on me, but I think the petite length would either be a bit short or perfect on me.

I have a pair of curvy toothpick jeans from a couple of years ago and was excited to get another pair, especially on sale. These are flattering on and I love the wash, but they are also a heavier denim and much tighter in the stomach than my previous pair (same size – 33).
They really do suck you in and smooth everything out but be aware that the stomach is tight on these. Not sure if sizing up would have solved anything since they fit well everywhere else. I am keeping them in hopes that they stretch out a bit with wear.
I love the way these pants fit, and be warned they do bag out. But why is it that i was a size 14, still own a size 14, still fit into those 14’s, from American Eagle, and now I’m having trouble fitting into the 18’s and 20’s?? I used to absolutely adore the jeans from AE but I’ve had to return more of them than I’ve kept in the last year! I’ve ordered curvy jeans that fit everywhere except for my butt and hips, which is what was supposed to be modified for this line.

I love these jeans! They’re the first pair of mom jeans that actually fit me, they flatter in all the right places, and they’re super comfy to wear all day. I also have the 90s curvy jeans and I think these ones fit a bit better.
Also really enjoy the pocket size in the front which is big enough for a phone. I only wish AE would bring back the curvy mom jeans without rips so I can get another pair (seriously, please bring them back!!).

I have been a Talbots fan for over 30 years. I was a huge fan of the 5 pocket jeans from the past. I tried these but they were more stretch than jean. I will have to start my search for a great fitting blue jean all over again.

I purchased these jeans in black. Very soft material. Great fit, however wash these jeans as soon as you receive them. I opened my package and of course I immediately tried on my jeans to make sure they fit.
The black jeans stayed my underwear, my legs and my hands. My hands looked as if I rubbed them on a car tire. The jeans are in the wash now, hopefully this helps with all that dye rubbing off on my body.

These jeans fit in both the waist and hips/thighs! I usually buy pants to fit my hips and am left with a pants waist that is several inches too large and gaps at the back. Not these. The fabric is soft and has some give, and I was able to order down a size and still be comfortable (from my usual 14-16 in pants to a size 12 in these).
Even in the smaller size, there is still ease in the fit. I ordered the Tall although I am 5’6″ because I wanted the waist to come all the way up to my natural waist, and it does in the Tall. The length is still fine, down below the ankles, but not dragging on the floor.
No shortening necessary. Keep these coming in the basic colors, plus seasonal, etc. Love them!.
Finally found a great fitting, great looking pair of jeans for (barely!) under $50! (sale price). I am also 5’5″ like another reviewer and the regular length (size 12) is perfect – does not look like a cropped jean.
I guess if I were a size or 2 less, they would be shorter on me. After getting my first pair, I tried to order a 2nd pair in size 12, med. wash, but they are sold out so I ordered a size 10 (in the med.
wash). I’m taking a chance but because they have significant stretch I’m hoping they’ll work without creating a “muffin-top” on me! And as I said in the title, I believe these are not wide-leg, but definitely what I would call straight-leg jeans.
I’ve loved jeans forever but in the last few years I’ve struggled so much to find some I feel comfortable, confident, and cute wearing. I put these on after asking a sales associate for help in store and was amazed by how absolutely perfect they were.
I could immediately tell the quality of the denim. I love the curvy fit and how they go in at the waist. I’m so used to jeans gapping at the back of my waist and fitting too tight in my thighs. None of that here! It seriously feels like these could’ve been made for me.
The wash is also beautiful! The fit of these is particularly nice because they accommodate my hips and thighs while giving me the look I’ve always wished I could get with straight cut jeans. I’ve worn them several times and haven’t noticed them stretching significantly or losing their shape at all.
Not sure how they’ll be after washing yet, but I’m following the Madewell rec to wash every 10 or so wears. I definitely want more of these in other washes.
Sizing is all over the place with denim so I here’s my anecdotal experience. I have 2 other pairs of Madewell jeans – both size 24. (A boyfriend cut and and a slim roadtripper, both with a little stretch).
I initially got a 24 and could BARELY get it on over my hips, zipped, and buttoned. It looked awesome once on, because it was so tight! I tried to wear them for a couple of hours knowing the 100% cotton would relax but they were so tight I ended up feeling a little dizzy each time.
Returned for a 25. Much better. Snug at first, but relaxes to a slouchier fit after some wear. Love the light wash and 100% cotton. It’s a mid-weight denim. I am 5’6″, 120, and have a 27 inch waist at the navel and 37 inch hips (with the tape pulled snug for both measurements).
I have a long torso, so the waist comes up to just below my belly button and the length hits at my ankle. There is JUST enough length to roll up without the hems feeling too tight. Summer staple!.
There are so many things that I love about these Ainsworth wash jeans: The fabric is amazing (it’s thicker/more “jeansy”). The wash is beautiful. The fit is awesome; no sagging/stretching. However, these jeans sadly appear to have some quality issues:The first pair I got had back pockets that were at different heights (almost a full inch of a difference), which was really weird.
Not a problem, returned them, got a new pair shipped. Sadly, the second pair had the same issue. Drove back to the store again, ordered my third pair. FINALLY the pockets are at the same height. I am ecstatic and about to cut off the tags.
Until I slip my hand into the back pocket and notice a bunch of threads. Turns out the pockets didn’t get the usual overlock stitch on the inside, meaning that they’ll likely tear. Guess I will have to exchange again and hope for better luck with the fourth pair.
I recommend these nonetheless, but be aware that you may need to exchange until you get a good pair.
