19 Best J Frame Pocket Holster (2023 Updated)

This is the 2nd Sticky holster Ive bought. Obviously I like the first one well enough. Admittedly, Ive used them on a derringer and now a subcompact, with zero slippage or discomfort, but I am unsure how a full sized set up would perform.

That said, Im one of those guys who has to constantly pull his pants up because Im a little over in the gut and a little under in the butt; yet this holster never falls out! It stays in place and is very comfortable.

Better still, Ive had no issues with printing. This holster is just right.

I got a “free” sticky-type holster with the purchase of a Ruger. 380 LCP II, and found it to be the best, most comfortably holster I have owned. I literally forget i am carrying (appendix) with that holster.

No joke. Of course the Ruger is tiny and light. But I do feel a little under-protected with the small caliber, and I am not as accurate a shot with it. Based on the experience with that holster, I bought this Sticky Brand for my Kahr CM9.

It is just about as comfortable to carry the larger pistol. Obviously the Kahr is heavier, and not as easy to “forget” I am carrying, but it’s somewhat better than the kydex IWB I had been using ( and quit because it caused hipbone spurs).

The Sticky is easy to position when going from standing to sitting, and stays where you put it once you find a sweet spot. I highly recommend this holster if you use appendix carry. I also recommend ONLY carrying a double action pistol for appendix carry! The light trigger pull on a Glock or H&K would scare the begeezus out of me in that position.

I always remove the holster when reinserting my pistol into it, for safety sake. Just my opinions, but I value my groin.

I really like this holster! It’s a great quality, and comfortable to wear (you can’t even feel it, it fits so nicely!) It fits my Taurus 856 revolver like a glove. The hammer and trigger are completely covered, so there’s no chance for an accidental discharge.

I’m very happy with this holster, you will be, too!.

Excellent holster and the 4 position concept sets it apart. I like leather especially for revolvers. I am a former law enforcement officer and carried for decades in every manner there is. Being retired I spend a lot of time on a 4 x 4 or tractor or just driving my jeep or truck.

That means a cross draw works best much of the time. This one fits my 3 inch J frame 357, a handy little gun for many uses. It also is great for strong side carry for EDC. I have the same rig for the Walther PPK/s.

I have the much bigger holster that fits the large capacity 9mms. Most of my leather holsters cost twice as much, some even more. But these three have convinced me that I will buy these for any new ones that I buy.

The first one is about 10 years old and while I do not carry any single holster much it shows no signs of aging.

I do not carry a Beretta 92 or M9 as an everyday carry pistol. Personally, I prefer a. 45, and the Beretta is a real boat-anchor, a very heavy pistol. I wanted a protective holster that would allow me to carry cross-draw, and this is it.

It is reasonably priced and gives you a variety of carry options. It is not a Bianchi, but it’s not $100 either. The price is good for the quality. ERSJR.

bought this for a 327 magnum j-frame. not the snubby so I had to look around to find a holster. This one was the only one I found over an extensive search that listed the 3 inch barrel length. I looked it over and for the price I couldn’t not try it.

when it arrived I inspected it carefully and was duly impressed by the fit and finish of the holster. slid the revolver home and it was a perfect fit. tried it in all of the four postions advertised and they all worked.

I use a heavy belt with a metal inset for carry and had no trouble with the size of the belt slots. the retention is great and very secure. I have no fear of loosing the weapon no matter what activity I find myself doing.

I carry in every situation public, recreational, around the house, yardwork and this holster makes it easy and comfortable to due so. will be purchasing another soon as I can.

Carried in my pocket for years now using a Nemesis holster, but it wasn’t the best(for me). I found that it still made quite a bulge, I think it was that shape and stiff material. Tried the TecGrip and won’t go back.

It’s lighter and a bit thinner, but the entire exterior is “grippy” so it stays in my pocket every time, but the interior is really slick. I think it’s a winner design.

As a woman who is 70+ with weak ability to pull the slide on the Glocks, I really like being able to pull the hammer back and it glides for me So far I have fired about 290 bullet. I have just added rubber grips.

and plan to go to the range today. I love the left and right safety. I am left handed. It is a easy carry on my waist or on my leg.

Here’s a case where a generic fit will allow this holster to work with a Ruger LCR and a S&W J frame and even a Colt Detective. So one holster can do the work of three and be both comfortable and attractive at the same time.

I have a 5 round S&W M-60 So this is too loose, I cut some of the rubber spacer and it’s still too loose, so hopefully sweat & body molding will shrink it a bit more. In the mean time I don’t recommend wearing this while being active as your Gun will fall out.

I think if they made the metal front piece less wide it would help and still allow easy holstering.

I use the holster every day. It exceeds my expectations.

This holster is the most comfortable OWB holster I have worn. Typically, I use a shoulder holster but they are not practical in the Spring and Summer. This OWB holster is an excellent holster for those times you need to carry openly or with just a shirt covering the holster.

This holster in particular was well thought through. The difficulty with wearing most OWB holsters is that they show. This holster was made in such a way that the gun handle is more tucked into the side of the body — most OWB holsters let the handle stick out quite a way.

Not this one. I could wear it with just a Hawiian shirt or a polo shirt untucked. You have a difficult time seeing that I am carrying a gun, even with a full sized. 45. I carry every day and this holster has been comfortable; it holds the gun securely.

Galco makes excellent holsters. The leather and stitching are better than others as is their attention to detail. You can’t buy better than Galco.

I was somewhat skeptical about being able to conceal my FN Five-seveN using an OWB holster. Well, this Galco OWB holster’s design does the job, even under an untucked T-shirt. It’s well-made and rides nicely on the hip.

I also liked their break-in tip to loosen the fit some. Another bonus: it will also fit the new Ruger 57.

Galco makes high quality products and this concealable holster is no exception. I ordered the left hand draw holster for my Sig 229 EE. The fit is “snug”, as typical for a new holster. I have been using this holster for about a week now, and it has already begun to settle-in.

I always use the Galco EZ Draw material on the inside of a new leather holster, it greatly reduces the friction between the firearm and the leather lining, resulting in a smooth and easy extraction. Excellent product!.

This holster fits my Model 442 wonderfully! The leather is soft and supple. The clip holds the holster in place. The only thing I would say against this holster is that it is deep, so if I put my 442 all the way in, I am not able to get a good “meaty” grip on the revolver handle.

To avoid this, I do not push the holster all the way in. I think this issue is due to the holster being intended for several different j-frames. Overall, if you want a holster specifically for a Model 442/642, look elsewhere.

If you have a larger j-frame, this should do well. I’m happy with this holster and I would recommend it to others.

I was pleasantly surprised how well this holster secures my Ruger SP101 with a Crimson Trace integrated into the grip. I was a little concerned that the firearm wouldn’t stay in place since the holster has no mechanical fastener inside it to secure the gun.

But I have worn this all day with no issue of the gun creeping up at all. The leather is extremely sturdy yet still soft enough to be comfortable. I have no doubt this holster will last a lifetime. The leatherwork is absolutely beautiful – to the point I kinda wish it wasn’t concealed :-).

I bought the defender in brown leather for my S&W 360. It came in nice, sealed packaging. The leather is absolutely beautiful, very stiff when i recieved it, but slightly pre-curved for fit, and with perfect stitching, no loose threads or mars.

I followed the instructions of wearing it during the day and wrapping my snubby in a plastic grocery bag and stuffing it into the holster overnight. Took about 6 days to mold and now the fit is securely snug but the draw is effortless.

The holster warms with your body and is comfortable to the point of being unnoticeable against the skin. Im wearing it at the 4 position, have tried it in the 10 for crossdraw and it’s not too bulky for that but is most comfortable for me at 4.

This is an extremely high quality finish leatherwork item, i enjoy looking at and handling it every day. I give it an unreserved recommend. I wish I had purchased this holster years ago.

This holster is perfect. Its small allowing for a quick draw and comfortable carry. Yet it has a tight grip on the firearm requiring no strap, snap or buckle. Im confident that it will stay in there til I want it, and itll be easy and smooth to remove it, when I do! Perfect!.

The Desantis IWB holster is made of quality materials and is clearly quite well made. It holds my Kimber Micro 9 pistol snug and secure without the need for a strap. The holster (and gun) fit nicely on my belt inside my pants.

The holster appears that it will hold its shape for some time, although that will only be known overtime. It is also a very nice looking holster with clean lines. The black coloring is very well done.

If I had one concern it would be that the belt clip is loosely mounted to the holster. This does not seem to affect the usability of the holster when it is worn. I assume it is mounted loosely on purpose, but I would prefer it to be installed solidly to the holster itself.

I bought this holster on black Friday. I have a Kydex holster for my Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm SHIELD. It works great except for when I have to sit down to drive, eat or bend down to pick up something I dropped.

The Kydex pinches my skin when doing anything other than standing straight. It makes it hard to conceal carry because you really want to adjust the holster. The DeSantis Pro Stealth is made of leather and soft material which adjusts to your movements.

I sat down to drive and was amazed that i was not pinched. I was bending down to tie my sons shoes laces without having to adjust my holster and let everyone know I was carrying. The best part is that it is made for my XDS 40 AND 9MM SHIELD.

I’ve used a few different pocket holsters and have pocket carried daily for the last several years. Trust me when I say this is the best of the best! It has a rubbery textured outside and a soft inside.

There’s a lip on the bottom so when you draw, the holster stays in the pocket. There’s several manufacturers claiming to have the best pocket holster, but I’m telling you right now the desantis nemesis is the best there is.

No need to waste your money on anything else.

A must have for Glock 42 owners. G42 is great for IWB. Although it is a tab big for a. 380, the G42 it is just small enough for pocket carry. The flap helps prevent printing and I’m sure it’s that big because it is a large.

380 but I feel it could have been cut a little smaller. Other than that it is of great quality. I have had Desantis SuperFly for my Ruger LCP for about 2 years and it is still in great shape and I am sure this will last for many years as well.

This is a quality holster. Nothing wrong with it. The only reason why I rated it as a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because it is a little too big for a front pocket holster unless you have huge front pockets.

If Desantis would trim it down a little, it would be better suited for a front pocket.

This holster is excellent for pocket carry of my Ruger LCR. It does not cost much but seems to be of good quality. I have carried this in my pocket for several days and it looks like I am carrying a wallet in my front pocket.

It does conceal the contour of the firearm well. At the price it sells for I am going to purchase another so if my original ever wears out I will have a back up on hand.

Holster is excellent quality. Very well made. Perfect fit. Arrived promptly!

It keeps my weapon from rolling around in my front pocket. Keeps it straight up and quick draw. Wasnt sure if it was what I wanted but definitely worth the the effort.

Desantis missed the mark on this one, compared to other Thumb Break slide holsters I’ve had for both 1911’s and larger Glocks. Only being able to have a forward canted holster is limiting for concealment, and the holster is TOO stiff.

Positive Points: It is extremely well-made and fitted. Suggestion: Desantis could have made one to fit both the 42 and 43. As it is, if you own both, you have to have separate holsters, and there’s such a small difference in the pistols themselves, it could be easily worked out by the design folks.

Right out of the package it fits well, tight as expected but expect after break in to be just right. This is my 5th desantis holster and am very happy with them all.

The holster fits my Hellcat like a glove. Due to the pandemic they are not easy to find.

The parts I disagree with are the fact that this holster is sticky and will not come out of your pocket. I live in Arizona and wear shorts year round. Shorts are not tight like jeans or pants are. This holster does not have any stickiness to it at all.

Not even a trace of stickiness. The nubs on it do not grab the material and the holster will come out of shorts pockets pretty easy. The other thing that needs to be known is that it does print in my shorts pocket.

The clothing that I wear is not thin material either. At the stitching where the material is compressed seems like where the problem exists. If this area had some padding to make it thicker I believe the printing issue would go away.

With the area compressed it prints very easily when siting down. I must say that the printing problem does bother me more than the lack of grip it has in the pocket. I do like this holster and wear it regularly, but I am still looking for my perfect pocket holster that won’t print as noticeably.

The Good: it’s well made, fits my p-32 perfectly, the price was good. The Bad: it’s not sticky. I own Sticky branded holsters and they stick; this one does not. It comes out of my pocket with the pistol every time.

Also, the holster and pistol seem to rotate in my pocket canting diagonally leaving me to make minor adjustments through the day. I wear wrangler jeans front pocket carry. I have not tried these in slacks with side entry pockets as opposed to top entry pockets my jeans have.

Overall it’s a nice sleeve but I’m going to shelf it once my Sticky brand replacement arrives. I need it to stay put where I put it.

Fits Sig P238 perfectly. Completely covers the trigger, but does NOT cover the safety. I like that, because I pocket carry the gun in condition 1 (cocked, locked, safety on) and I can disengage the safety as I draw the gun from the holster.

The holster fits like a glove. Not too tight. Not too loose. My particular P238 has iron sights, no laser or other add-ons, so I can’t speak to how it might fit with Crimson Trace or other laser sights.

Almost zero printing thanks to the slim profile of the holster.

The holster is well made and feels good. My middle finger is large so that hole in the holster is a little tite. May try to enlarge it. It is also hard to shoot with tring to a good grip. It is going to take some practice to find the right place to steady it and grip it with my left hand.

I like the concept but it may prove to hard to get were I feel good about it. It may only be good for like 6 – 10 foot range. I’m shooting it in the holster at 25 – 30 yards and can’t keep it in a foot square target yet.

I own a S&W. 380 Bodyguard. Why so I could CC. I don’t care for the IWB and certainly did not want to parade around with it OWB. Not the point of Concealed Carry. The bodyguard fits but the holster is very stiff making it difficult to get the gun in and out.

When carried in rear pocket it does the job hiding the profile of the weapon. About all I can say: It is what it is!.

Got a chance to play with the holster. Im very happy with it overall. I needed this holster for a wedding that requires I wear a suit. Obviously I cant IWB and ankle carry is just not for me. Tried this out and I really like it.

Fits a back pocket and doesnt hurt when sitting on for long periods of time. Also appreciate the ability to pull out and use while still inside the the wallet. Gun is firmly held with tension inside the holster.

no worries there Only issue would be changing mags. Very difficult to insert a mag while the gun is inside the wallet. Possible, but not easy to do. Big thanks to the seller.

I needed a holster to conceal carry in jeans. I rarely wear a jacket, and IWB holsters just weren’t working for me. I printed, and was unable to draw without undue motion and struggle. SO, I tried my daughters “sticky” holster in my pocket and it worked.

I mean there’s a “lump” but you really cant tell it’s a gun. I found this holster on eBay, for less money, and figured I could send it back, if I didn’t like it. It’s not going back. it works. It’s just a little larger than it needs to be, but I suspect, that’s because it fits multiple gun models, not just my Sig.

The gun fits into it well, and slipping my hand into my pocket, grasping the grip of the weapon, allows me to pull it free, smooth and natural. The holster stays in my pocket. The only time I have trouble, is when I try to remove the gun AND the holster from my pocket at the same time.

It goes into my pocket fine. the gun draw is smooth, and easy, and the lump in my pocket that people see doesn’t look like the outline of a gun. What more do you want for this price?.

Picked this up for my summer-carry B21 Bobcat; carried it all season and it works great. It doesn’t print in any of the shorts I wear, either. Easy draw, no snags, and the opening stays open so it’s easy to reholster your weapon.

If you’re looking for a no-frills pocket holster that will work every time, you won’t be disappointed.

I needed a temporary holster for a new Kahr CM9 while I was waiting for the high quality leather belt holster I ordered. This little pocket holster was such a low price that I dismissed it at first. The total of my Midway order fell just about a buck shy of what I needed to use a coupon that would take $15 off my order.

I added this to my order, got to use my coupon and it ended up just costing me a few bucks. I figured it would just end up in a junk drawer – but that’s where I was wrong. This is a really nice little piece that I actually use.

I seldom wear clothes that pocket carry is appropriate but on those rare occasions this is perfect. What I love about it is that it’s ideal for putting inside a golf bag that I use all the time. It holds the pistol securely yet I can still perform a draw by pushing the holster off with my thumb on top of the slide while dragging the holster inside the bag.

It has a great clingy texture that keeps the holster from being presented with the pistol. I have already recommended this to friends that may want to pocket carry. I was about to give this four stars but I got to thinking about how good it is at the price point at which it’s sold – that makes it a solid five.

Previously, I was not a regular concealed carry person. I am in my 60s, overwight and the most comfortable way to carry was OWB which was concealable in winter outside but not so much indoors. I saw the ComfortTuck on youtube and decided to give it a try.

I ordered one for my M&P Shield. I received it in about a week, put it on at the 4-5 o’clock position and wore it comfortably the first day. I now conceal carry at church, shopping, driving in my truck, and pretty much everywhere except when I am working out of my home office.

By having a quality gun belt, and pants with a waist size 2 inches bigger than normal, I can wear the ComfortTuck all day. I also turned around a purchased another for my CZ 75D PCR Compact. This is a much heavier gun but I can still wear it all day, although I will say the shield is much more comfortable due to the much lighter weight, but both work fine.

As we come out of Winter in Missouri this will be my main carry option until winter comes again. I am very happy with my choice.

High quality materials are used throughout. The leather against your body gets more comfortable with each use. The comfort leather shapes to your body. The holster grips my Masada and holds it in place even in a run.

I am a bigger dude and have tactical love handles and I wear this at my 430 position. The pistol is quick to draw. Even with the combat cut to give you a dater draw the pistol doesn’t touch your skin.

One of the other great features I tried out was the adjustable clip height. You can lower the holster position to bring the pistol grip closer to your belt. I could super conceal my full size pistol by using the adjustable clips.

The more I lowered it the harder the draw. So I adjusted back to the best fit where it offered the best draw and concealment. I highly recommend this holster for EDC. I WILL 1000% recommend Vedder. The fit and finish, ingenuity, use of high quality materials there is really no better choice.

Have been wanting to get the Rapid Tuck for quite a while since I already have two light tucks that I am extremely happy with. But unfortunately it arrive with the wrong belt clip, it was shipped with the long clip.

Adjusted at the same position as the light tucks but when I went to draw my 365xl my knuckle would scrape the clip. Fortunately Vedders customer service is second to none, and Rachel in customer service whom I spoke to realized that the wrong belt clip had been installed and had one on the way asap at no charge.

After installing the short clip I began wearing the holster on a daily basis. I can say that this Rapid Tuck is the most comfortable holsters I’ve worn, retention for a hybrid is outstanding. I ordered the the holster with the upgraded horse hide and dark earth kydex, looking forward to years of use with my new Rapid tuck.

Would highly recommend this holster to anyone looking for a comfortable reliable holster.

I bought Vedder Springfield Armory EMP 3″ 9mm OWB LightDrawTM Holster after extensive research online, and I must say I was not disappointed with the purchase. Over the years I have bought and used holsters from different brands (both IWB, OWB, Kydex, Leather, etc.

). This is by far the best holster I purchased. I got the one with the carbon fiber finish on the outside and standard black on the inside, along with the pancake clips. What a pleasure! FINISH: A very well-finished product.

The edges are well-rounded (no sharp edges). The holster looks super elegant and feels extremely rugged. WEAR FIT: The holster sits snug on the hip. Best concealability achieved for an OWB holster. The pancake clips make this happen.

These clips also add to the inner curvature of the holster and allow a fair bit of sideways movement on the belt to change the position of the gun on the belt (appendix to four-o-clock). FIREARM FIT: The SA EMP 3″ 9mm fits in the holster like a glove.

There is a distinct perceptible click when the pistol is placed, reassuring that the gun will stay in and not slip out (even with rough body movements, rolling around). The retention screw is a significant addition, allowing adjustment of retention tightness.

I’ve finally found a Kydex holster that actually fits the Glock 42: the Vedder ProDraw Paddle holster. My handgun fit perfectly in the holster right out of the Vedder cloth bag (in which it ships). A half turn on the retention screw was all that I needed to get the desired ‘snap’ and fit when drawing and holstering my Glock.

The craftsmanship and quality of the ProDraw was immediately evident: smooth edges around the entire holster, snug fit without any gaps, excellent sight channel for easy holstering (for any variety of sights), excellent size for concealed carry, innovative paddle that fits over a belt or the pants, and high quality material construction.

In short, the Vedder ProDraw holster is the perfect Kydex holster for those having difficulty finding a holster claiming to fit a Glock 42. Incidentally, I recently purchased two paddle Kydex holsters from two other well known vendors for my Glock 42.

Both of the paddle holsters left gaps around the handgun and required some adjustment for a somewhat reasonable fit, although far from satisfactory. My impression was that these holster were made for the Glock 43, but advertised for the Glock 42.

Neither of the other holsters came close to the craftsmanship of quality of the Vedder ProDraw. I considered a leather holster, but most leather holsters have belt loops for 1-3/4 inch belts: Three problems – 1) most belts today are 1-3/8s inches, unless a belt is special ordered and a ‘gun’ belt; 2) most leather holsters move when a handgun is drawn, unless sinched very tight around the waist; and, 3) most pants for men only accommodate ‘up to’ a 1.

5 inch belt. The paddle on the ProDraw has a rubberized surface that adheres to pants, whether used in belt or pants mode. This unique paddle produces a snug fit that keeps the holster in place for drawing or holstering.

I highly recommend the ProDraw for anyone looking for a holster for the Glock 42, as well as other models of handguns. Now I know why the motto at Vedder is “America’s most comfortable holsters”.

I purchased the LightDraw out of a need for a concealable OWB holster for my G43x. It arrived in a timely fashion. And the packaging was impressive. My only issues with this holster was that the night stalker pattern did not come out quite as I had expected it as displayed.

The colors in this pattern did not stand out as much as I had an anticipated. It looks good, but maybe not worth the extra $20. If I bought it again I probably would have gone with the MAS Grey. The holster was a little wider than expected which kept it from forming to my body at the 3 o’clock position.

Granted it does have to make room for the streamlight TLR-7 sub. My final issue with this holster is how high the pistol sits in relation to the belt line. This effects the draw and it’s ability to be concealed.

If there was something that could be done to lower the pistol just a little bit I think it would make a huge difference. All in all it is a perfectly serviceable holster and I do plan on wearing it semi-regularly when not carrying IWB.

I think it is a good product that is exactly what it claims to be. It does print the pistol like a wallet but I have a pocket holster that is a little smaller and therefore a little more concealable but I still find this very useful is certain carry situations.

I am a 27 year law enforcement officer, 19 years on our tactical team. Concealed carry in a tropical climate is sometimes challenging. This is the only product that does not print regardless of pocket.

Most IWB holsters require a cover shirt. From my experience, any product that requires two hands to retrieve your weapon is useless. You may have to keep an attacker at bay with one hand while retrieving with the other.

Great holster of fine quality. Not suitable if you carry cocked and locked. Only for hammer down. I carry cocked and locked so this should be a range holster. If you need to be quick and ready on your draw I do not recommend.
