I am 67 years old and stopped buying canned crab because I was always disappointed in the product and ammonia smell. So glad after all these years I have finally found a good canned crab! Buy it, you won’t be disappointed!!!!.

Thursday, April 21, 2011, spent the day fishing the Gulf of Maine for cod. I am a great believer is scent when it comes to down to catching any kind of fish, from catfish to cod or haddock! This was my first experiment using Fishbite products when deep-sea fishing for ground fish.

Since I would be jigging for cod in over 250 feet of water, I opted to use Fishbite’s longer lasting version of scented bait, since it was suppose to stay on the hook longer and be less likely to be nibbled off by any fish.

For the bait to be “nibbled off the hook” when jigging, was not a factor to be taken into consideration, but having the scented bait stay on the hook for longer periods of time, was a prime consideration.

I was impressed with this Fishbite product! The scented bait appears to be molded into a guze=like material that is VERY STRONG! Once the strip of Fishbite was impaled on a hook, IT STAYED THERE and was even difficult to take off the hook, hours later.

I used a 3. 5 inch strip of Fishbite impaled on a jig and a shrimp imitation teaser to add scent to my terminal jigging rig. The combination worked for me, for I limited out on cod! Scented sauces, sprayed on scents, and oil-type of scent baits tend to wash off the jigs and teasers quickly.

and they can make a slippery mess on a boat deck or any surface. Not a Fishbite product! Fishbite scented baits are NOT expensive and are surely worth a try. Semper Fi, Captain.

Added this along with fresh bait to hold it on and worked really well. The texture was definitely gross after sitting in the water for a while but over all, very well made.

I’ve been using Fishbites for many years now with great results! It stays on the hook very well (crab meat is among the hardest to keep on a hook especially when casting), releases a good scent in the water, and it actually catches fish when compared to the real thing! I use the white Crab in the Longer Lasting scent formula and I catch Spot, Croaker, White Perch, Spadefish, Whiting, Speckled Trout, Ladyfish, and on occasion Striped Bass.

I’ve used this over the last few years after reading a lot of reviews. I like the long lasting, because it really is. You can put a piece on and it will last hours if it’s not abused by the fish. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because after you open the package, you pretty much have to use all of it while you are fishing, I mean in like a week or so.

I’m only surf fishing for a week at a time and I literally never run out of this stuff in a weeks worth of fishing. I usually have a couple strips left over and it doesn’t last through the winter and I’ve got to buy another packages.

Yeah, I lose 2 strips out of a $6 package of bait. Not a big deal, but it’s still not perfect. For performance, this stuff is amazing. If you don’t catch anything with it, its because there are no fish to eat it.

It doesn’t really do better than live bait head to head until you consider that it will stay on the hook until you catch a fish, and most of the time until you catch 5-10 fish PER PIECE!!!! You will likely get more bites off of live bait, but you will also lose a lot of bait from pinfish, crabs and other bait thieves.

So you may catch 3 fish for every 5 shrimp you throw out and the bites may come slightly more often than the fishbites, but the fishbites will yield more fish over the long run. Dollar for dollar I would say it’s 2-3X more effective that the real stuff, maybe more.

I cut them in about 1″ chunks as soon as I open the package, that way you aren’t fumbling with a knife in the surf or boat. I’ve used them on the surf, in the waterways, in brackish water and deep sea fishing.

I’ve caught small sharks, redfish, pompano, trout, whiting, porgies, ruby red lips, vermilion snapper, trigger fish, lots of catfish and others that I couldn’t identify. This is great for kids, because it’s clean to put on a hook and they can abuse it and it will stay on the hook.

This stuff will always be in my tackle box when I’m fishing salt water. I’m going to try the fishin’ chunks this year for red snapper fishing.

I am a big fan of fishbites and have been using them for years. They are very productive and it is nice not having to bait the hooks after every cast. The long lasting (blue bag) versions are what I use and I have tried every variety.

The long lasting version has a mesh backing and is intended for use when the water is at least 65 degrees. Occasionally some mesh is left behind on a hook and when that happens I cut the mesh with a pair rapala scissors intended for braid.

I also use the scissors to cut the fishbites. Out of all the varieties, I have had the most success with shrimp but they all will catch fish.

like the headline reads, they simply catch fish! soaked some small strips on a double dropper rig and caught a 24″ Black drum in about 10 mins! We ate well that night! whiting loved them as well!

Let me tell you, you will not miss eating dead fish. These taste like the crab flesh that you are used to. My husband is not vegan but I am trying with him. I made these I didn’t say what they were, he ate them all didn’t even save me any.

He came back in the kitchen and said you only made 4 crab cakes. where the rest! Basically he didn’t realize they were not dead fish until I told him and he started going to the store and buying these himself.

I am not saying these are the healthiest as it is processed!.

My wife is vegan and I’m an omnivore pretty much, but I try lots of stuff she makes. Some great some terrible. These are fantastic and can be used in many easy recipes as well. Gardein is one of the best meat alternative companies I’ve come across, maybe the best.

Don’t prejudge and don’t be afraid to make an actual meal with them though good on their own. Sadly I have to catch their products on sale to afford them, thus the low value grade. Assumed it meant price.

I absolutely love these crabless cakes! They taste very similar to the real stuff but more flavourful and delicious. I love making the Tik Tok Sushi bowls with them or just have them as a quick appy! I just throw mine in the air fryer and they come out perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside every single time.

I love this product! This brand in general is absolutely amazing. It has such a smooth finish and non irritating to your skin.

This has saved me so much trouble and struggle. Diaper rashes are inevitable but this cream in particular helped ease my child every time within a day.

I cannot say enough about Aquaphor!! It was easy to spread, easy to clean off of myself, and IT WORKED!! My son is now three and mostly potty-trained and I still use it when he occasionally needs it.

Would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!.

It’s not bad, but it doesn’t taste like crab

An absolute must if using imitation crabmeat instead of the real thing, this blend will definitely make your crab dish something special. We used it as a dust garnish in a crab pasta dish and it gave it just what it needed.

We also used it in a crab cake recipe that we have not changed in a very long time, but now we use this product instead of a competitor’s. Great Product.

I took one star off based upon a somewhat misleading name. This doesn’t taste anything like other major brand seasonings (which knew coming in) – or really like a seafood seasoning at all. It *is* very good, however.

But there isn’t enough citrus flavor for me to naturally marry it with seafood. It’s very thyme-heavy (yum!), making it my new meatloaf seasoning!.

I got Regal brand’s crab mix to compare it to Old Bay crab mix packets. I find that Old Bay in large amounts is VERY salty, too salty for my taste. Regal uses quality ingredients and they focus on the spices rather than overloading you with salt.

This is my new go to when making crab cakes at home.

I’ve tried just about every popular diaper cream out there and this is the best one. I like that it goes on clear and does not have a scent. My baby’s bottom is moisturized and I notice that rashes are soothed faster than other diaper creams.

The bottle lasts a long time and is a good value. You can’t beat this diaper ointment. It’s truly the best!.

Was so looking forward to receiving this little jar filled with crab. Mighty Ape was, like always, Mighty Good at delivering this item the next day. All I can say is that it is an acquired taste and not to my liking.

I’ve used 2 of the 5 lbs I purchased now. Admittedly, this was an impulse buy while shopping online for King Crab. Overall, it’s good crab. Has a nice, natural flavor. Has some chunks (meat) to it and as I would have expected very limited shell in the crab.

You’re always going to get a bit of shell. Nature of the crustacean. 😉 Product was packed well and arrived within days of ordering, as expected. Overall pleased with the product from a taste and quality standpoint.

Cons: It’s packed in tray with water. I thawed and snipped the corner of the bag to drain off excess water, tip: keep water for a seafood stock. You actually end up with 13 – 13. 1 ounces actual crab meat & tray, my actual weights.

Note, that is not squeezing out the meat as you would do for crab cakes, that’s just allowing gravity to do its thing. Another issue is the PRICE. After purchasing I noted that locally frozen lump crab is half the price.

I get that there is shipping involved but paying double for each pound purchased?!? Ouch. That killed any repeat business from me. :(.

This crab is firm, white, and mild tasting. It was perfect for making Maryland Crabcakes. Thawed under refrigeration, drained, and the lumps are uniform, good-sized and firm. It made excellent crab cakes, and would be perfect for crab salad.

This is now my go-to source for crab, never using canned again.

This was more like shredded crab meat. Also had a lot of crab shell pieces that were very difficult to identify until in the mouth.

Louis Kemp is King when it comes to imitation crab!! Yummy bargain! I always add a little sweetener and Old Bay seasoning to mine! In SoCal we used to be able to get seafood cocktails in little fancy jars at every supermarket or corner store.

So now I make my own by added cocktail sauce I make myself with horseradish, diced celery and and catsup (sugar free for me =} I also flake it by cutting off the end of the bag then rolling it with a rolling pin back and forth then make crab cakes.

You can use any recipe but I line using All Bran cereal the kind that are like pellets no sugar and roll them in a bag also. That way its even more nutritious with the added fiber and I bake or air fry them so they’re fat free and low cal.

Great for dinner or snacks and yuu can even freeze them. =} Its all good in the Baja Kitchen!! lol.

The best We honestly buy at least 3-4 packs a week We make ceviche with it and it always comes out so good. Please do not stop selling Walmart. Literally the only place we know that sells and has a great taste.

tastes great and I’m so relieved to finally get a soy free option! with all the estrogen in soy products I end up with hormonal acne and it sucks. so I try to avoid eating it because it makes a difference.

Aquamar Immitation Crab legs or flakes is the best. I have been using this brand since the 70’s. Always Sweet and Moist, not dry like other major brands. This is the only brand I use and it is hard to find.

I keep trying the other brands when Aquamar is not available (Like something is going to change with the other brands. (LOL)). : I am always disappointed after the purchase and put it in the trash. Please try this brand if you enjoy immitation Crab, maybe more stores will carry it in Las Vegas, NV.

Super Moist! I loved this product. Most of the time with products like these you get a rubbery texture to it but not with this one! Every bite was a clean break and full of flavor. I highly recommend teying this product!.

I like that imitation crab meat is now available at Walmart. I live eating imitation crab meat for a quick salad mixing it together with mayonaise and celery and spread it across a bed of bed of lettuce.

My fave way to eat this is to take cooked sushi rice, combining it with some seasoned rice vinegar and then topping it with surimi meat. Then follow it with a generous sprinkle of Japanese Furikake and siced green scallions.

I can eat this everyday! Its so delicious and so easy to out together for a quick meal.

Aquamar Surimi 7oz Shreds are great to eat as a solo snack, plain and right out of the bag, save the rest for later. Just as great to throw in some mayo, salt and pepper and turn into a delicious dip with crackers to share at any get together.

So versatile, the possibilities are endless!.

I chop up the crab flakes, mix it with minced onion to taste, add 8 oz cream cheese. Roll into a ball, cover with clear wrap, and refrigerate over night. Then place in shallow bowl, and pour cocktail sauce to run down on sides of the ball.

Then serve with crackers. Wonderful tasty appetizer!.

Too sweet, not savory. Checked label — a whopping 4Gs of ADDED sugar creating 14 Gs for 1/2 cup serving. Taste is bland. Texture mushy.

This sushi is very tasty. My daughter and I can’t keep it in stock. She loves splitting the pack up and taking it to school for lunch. Comes with 2 soy sauce packets and 1 wasabi packet. I was hesitant at first to buy the frozen instead of fresh, but after a quick thaw, it tastes just like the fresh sushi.

Can’t even tell it was frozen. Definitely keeping a couple in the freezer as much as possible.

I absolutely LOVE this brand’s sushi, specifically the Philadelphia roll. I eat it every day for lunch! I’ve read that some people find the rice to be dry, but I’ve never encountered this issue and I’ve been eating it for months.

In fact, the texture is a major plus on this brand for me. The flavor is some of the best I’ve found from packaged sushi. Plus, at the price it’s offered, you just can’t beat the value. It comes frozen, so it’s going to last you, too.

All you have to do is defrost the number of pieces you want and bam, instant yum. I usually put mine into a plastic bag and submerse it in warm water; it takes maybe 20 minutes to defrost that way, so I can defrost my lunch for tomorrow while I’m doing the dishes tonight.

You just can’t beat this stuff. My only complaint is that my freezer can’t hold enough of it! I’ve recently found out that Walmart might cease carrying this sushi, and I’m quite upset. If anyone knows where else to buy it, PLEASE leave a review and let us know! I need my Banzai Phily!.

Since the holidays, I’ve been looking for quality appetizers. These did not disappoint, where so many other brands have. These cook up in approximately 10 min. for an entire box. Crispy on the outside, crab, cheesy and moist on the inside, with a hint of jalapeno that is not overwhelming.

I serve these with the dipping sauce, included and a side of cocktail sauce. Plated with fresh cut lemons, I can mingle with guests while the main course is finishing. Depending on your crowd, however, I would add additional appetizers, as there are only around 13 per box.

Personally, I would like to see either more product per box or larger boxes available within a reasonable price increase.

I baked these as instructions stated and they turned out perfect! We had them as appetizers the other night and honestly I could’ve just ate them and skipped my dinner! We have 3 kids in after school sports and I don’t always have time to cook. We love Seapak products because they are handy to fix for my family for either a meal or sometimes just a pre-game snack. This was my first time trying SeaPak’s Budweiser product (thank you, Seapak, for the complimentary coupon to try this in exchange for my honest review!).

I like the packaging and the box easily fit in my freezer. I baked them in the oven. I noticed the smell of the beer at the halfway mark when I flipped them but they didn’t taste strong of beer (which is good because I’m not a beer drinker).

The batter is thicker and not the crumbly type texture we’re used on on other shrimp products. While I think we prefer the other texture, we did very much enjoy this shrimp. It was crunchy and cooked fast (15 min).

I wish they printed Air Fryer instructions on the packages as I’d love to use my air fryer without the guesswork. Overall, great product. We’ll continue to buy these, especially for quick meals.

I read some reviews before posting mine. I wanted you to know, if you are expecting real crab meat, you will be disappointed. BUT, if you know what imitation crab meat is, it’s one of the best. I’m pretty picky, even for imitation crab meat.

It’s a great value because at my current store in the ATL area you can get this for $5. 99. If you go to a regular store here, you would pay $3. 99 on up for 16 oz. It’s great to use in Salads and I make a crab salad that’s great on a salad OR a sub.

I’ve even made Crab Alfredo! Definitely a repeat purchase for me!.

I don’t understand why there are so many great reviews. I currently get my imitation crab from my local asian market and they taste very much like crab. I thought to give these a try the last time I was at Sam’s because of price.

I was disappointed. They are very bland tasting at best. They might be okay in a salad where they taste like the salad dressing or maybe to add a meaty texture to soups and sauces. I will not be purchasing these again.

I use to buy this 2 packs at a time at least twice a mth. But the last five times I’ve purchased this, it has been bad. Ive also waited a mth or so before buying again thinking it was a bad shipment but no it’s gross now.

It’s slimy and has a terrible smell. Ive thrown it out each time. So i will never buy again.
