20 Best Hp Monitor For Gaming (2023 Updated)

I love this monitor, or at least the the ones manufactured in Mar 2020. I recently purchased a 2nd monitor manufactured in Jul 2021, and could tell immediately that the newer version is slightly off.

What I have tried will be listed below: Long story short, nothing worked. However if you read the last entry, I found the solution!!! -GPU out was HDMI and Display Port. I thought maybe HDMI 8K cable was better than my 4K Display Port cable.

So I swapped them, between the (2) monitor’s with still the same color results. -I went into system -> advanced display settings -> Noticed that main monitor was 144hz, while the duplicate was 120hz.

I couldn’t force my duplicated monitor to 144hz, so I changed my main monitor to 120hz. Still the same color results. -I went into the monitor settings and tried to change the color by user, with no luck.

-I called ASUS customer support. Let’s just say their products are great, but speaking with tech support is trash. Solution. I purchased another monitor and looked on the back of the 3rd “test” monitor and noticed that it was manufactured in Jul 2021, just like the 2nd “duplicate” monitor.

So I unplugged my main monitor “Mar 2020” and noticed immediately that the 2nd and 3rd monitor’s colors were identical. So essentially, if you know that your going to extend display’s, purchase both of the same monitor’s at the same time, more than likely you’ll purchase the same manufacturing month and year, and not having my situation.

I added pictures, of the color differences. It looks blurry when I attached them to this review, hopefully it shows up.

So I was looking for a new monitor for my Xbox Series X. While I had thought about getting a 1440p monitor, but 1080p still looks just fine. My main desire was the 120hz/120FPS capability on Xbox and this monitor delivers that.

The monitor and stand were very easy to put together, as it literally took less than a minute to set up. I love the adjustable height and how easy it is to adjust. The monitor looks good and has nice colors, but you will need to mess around with the settings to find the best picture for you.

I do wish some of the settings were more customizable, like Vivid Pixel. If you want a sharper image, vivid pixel will do that, but it goes up in increments of 25, and in my personal opinion, 25 is too high.

I wish I could set it at around 10, but it doesn’t allow you to. But either way, there’s alot of different settings you can try out to optimize the picture. The monitor comes with a Display Port, but if you’re playing on console, just use your standard HDMI chord and you’re good to go.

Don’t forget to go into the settings and turn on 120hz. It definitely makes the gameplay much smoother, especially on games that support 120FPS. Overall, great monitor for the price. There’s monitors much better out there, but for this price, it’s a solid deal.

This monitor delivers for its price. The colors are better than acceptable and the refresh rate is that sweet spot for modern games. You can get faster but the price goes up and the Law of Diminishing Returns kicks in.

1080p is a great spot if you’re running anything from an Nvidia 10 series to a 3060. In Warzone on medium high settings my girlfriends Asus Zephyrus G14 3060 laptop is hitting 130 FPS average with no screen tear or artifacts.

The 24” size is also perfect for 1080p as this size seems to be the sweet spot for pixel density. Most 1080p monitors I’ve seen bigger than this lose their sharpness as there are too few pixels for the screen size.

There is a tiny bit of motion blur on small far away dark objects on a light background but I’ve come to suspect that is more the laptop as it does the same thing on my $700 Acer Predator XB273U GX 27” 240hz 1440p monitor that I use for my much more powerful desktop.

This monitor is FreeSync compatible but Nvidia will not detect it automatically as it was not tested and certified to work with G-Sync. You just need to go into the setting on the monitor and turn on Variable Refresh Rate and then the “Enable G-Sync” will appear in Nvidia Control Panel.

Now for the only major downside: the User Interface is a total pain to use. Instead of giving you a joystick nipple to navigate the menu, you have 5 buttons that aren’t always clearly labeled on screen.

Add on top of that Asus’ TERRIBLE naming of monitor features (to be fair most brands seem to use proprietary names for everything from VRR to Backlight Adjust instead of calling them what they are) I eventually gave up and went to YouTube and found a review that explains the important settings and I haven’t touched it since.

If you’re in the market for a really good 1080p 144hz gaming monitor, I really think you should add this to your monitor comparison list.

I upgraded my Samsung sa300 series 60hz monitor to this alienware beast!!! I love it! Out of the box I didn’t do much calibration and it was already silky with rich colors and super smooth. For my hardware needs my computer can only output such high frames at 1080p.

So I’m really happy I didn’t go for the 2k dell monitor that everyone keeps suggesting. Always try to remember the screen is only good depending on what your computer can output for games. For high-end AAA games I can only average around 100-120 fps.

But older games that I still play like left 4 dead 2 and rocket league I’m getting around 200fps+ and it’s awesome! Dell was very good at reimbursing me a 25 dollar credit. My shipping kept getting delayed so I contacted them with the inconvenience from taking time off to be home for my shipment and that is what they gave me.

Anyhow. I love my monitor and even though it is only 1080p, the silky colors and smooth gameplay make this monitor worth it! Just know I don’t upgrade monitors for years to come unless I have an issue with it.

Great high refresh rate monitor. Response times are noticeably faster than lower refresh rate monitors. Colors are pretty good but not great. May need to calibrate it some to dial in the colors better.

Overall, this monitor is perfect for what I was looking for. It is a second monitor that allows for fps gaming with a high refresh rate along with being able to put it in portrait mode when using it for document based work.

The inputs are ample and the back panel cover is much easier to put on and take off than older Alienware monitors. Stand is heavy and seems durable, although I have the monitor mounted on the wall so can’t speak to how well it works.

The OSD is pretty easy to navigate. Once the monitor is dialed in with the specs you prefer, you shouldn’t need to dive back into the OSD anyways. I would definitely recommend this monitor to someone looking for a smaller screen with a high refresh rate and low input lag.

I have to admit, I was skeptical about buying refurbished monitors at first. You hear so many horror stories over the years that it makes you really question whether the savings is worth the potential hassle.

Well, in this case, I would say absolutely (so far). I bought two, as I wanted a dual monitor setup, and 12 days in, the only complaint I have is that the monitor stands themselves have a larger footprint than I thought they would.

This was easily remedied by snagging a dual mount arm from another retailer, but definitely expect the base to stick out more than you think it will. Otherwise, these were easy to set up, and have had zero issue.

I went display port for both of them, since part of the allure of this particular monitor was the refresh rate. A few clicks in windows, and I have the smoothest views I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing.

The colors and edges are crisp and vibrant, there are no bad pixels, and the bezels are delightfully thin compared to monitors I’ve used in the past. If I push the two edges together instead of leaving a gap like I normally do, there’s no more than about half an inch of black between the two images.

As far as game play is concerned, everything looks smooth as glass and I haven’t had an issue with tearing or stuttering since I got these. I will say that occasionally, I have random, for lack of a better term, glitch flashes, but I think that’s more the fault of my poor, beleaguered RX570 than the monitors themselves.

TL;DR – if you’re thinking about buying this monitor, I say do it. They’ve been a purchase worth every penny for me, and I have no regrets at this point.

Curve is perfect for gaming. This monitor is perfect for Xbox Series X. You can achieve 120hz at 2k with the Freesync on. I went through a few monitors before finding on that can truly do this at this price point.

It will also up scale to 4k at 60hz if your interested in that as well. Lost of comments about the ability to put it on an arm. I have mine mounted on an arm no problem. It comes with pegs to raise up the plate so you can mount it to an arm.

Shown in my pictures. You just need to remove the quick release stand. It also includes 4 screws for a mounting plate with the 4 pegs to raise it up to the mount plate. 100% recommend buying. Has to be one of the best priced monitors for the feature it offers!.

I bought this because my old monitor was a dinosaur. Beings MSI, it had to be good. Took delivery and unboxed it. MSI thought of everything. It was packed in a Styrofoam cocoon. Well protected. Stand it came with was very easy to put together.

Rather beefy. Plugged all the cables in and powered it on. Immediately noticed the top left. Set at 165 hz. Now, before you get all excited, it didn’t start off as angels singing, more like a group of 8 year olds playing recorders for the first time.

I did have to go in and set my G Sync up on Nvidia. 1 click done. then at the back of the monitor, went and refined my picture. Only thing I can say is that MSI thought of everything. Already had presets for FPS, Racing, RPG.

This monitor increase all of the games I play. Armored Warfare, American Truck Simulator, and iRacing. The saying of frames wins games is very true with this one. And running a GTX 1660 TI Black, I have not had any problems with micro studdering.

Picture has been flawless. No tearing or or latency issues. And at the price, this def for those who are on a budget, or upgrade from another monitor.

ok. so on face value, this monitor is 5 stars across the board. Speed? check. visuals? check. RGB lighting, really really good, and tastefully done, and useful as well, especially if you mount it vesa on an arm stand like me.

Keep in mind, that this monitor is a little heavier than others, so you will need to adjust a vesa arm mount for the extra weight. G sync is flawless. period, luke warm feature- the downstream usb ports.

IF you are using it on it’s stock stand (which is actually really good, and you can hang a headset on it) then the USB hub it provides is good, but the cable (think desktop) but if you use it on a laptop, the usb a to usb b (never even knew anyone used usb b) cable is a little “thick” and hard to route.

getting 2 downstream ports at the price of 1, for a net gain of 1 port is kind of a waste. You are running a thick cable for 1 extra port. Maybe, if you are charging a wireless headset, that’s the only reason I would use it.

I knocked half a star off for this. Now I am keeping this monitor, cause it really is awesome, but here is the biggest flaw. Audio output- it’s slightly distorted and has some static. I use my (bose computer speakers) with 2 inputs.

my ps5, and my laptop. both are getting audio from their respective monitors. I thought I had a cable problem, so I got 2 new cables, and my audio problem was still there. The problem is that the monitor “boosts” audio and there is no way to turn down the gain.

If you are older, you will remember what its like to have the gain on an amplifier turned too high. this is the exact same situation. unfortunately, there is no way to adjust audio wither on the screen, or through software.

half a star off for this. I have since switched to routing audio direct from the laptop, but I expect that a monitor in this price range, should have the ability to adjust the gain. maybe in a firmware update, but we all know that monitors never get firmware updates.

I purchased x2 of these to mount in my 2018 Freightliner Cascadia to complete my gaming/work station. My exact first impression on removing the 1st one from its styrofoam shell was “DANG, HECKIN CHONKI”.

On opening the second one my reaction was, “umm where are the HDMI cables”. Yes, this monitor is in my opinion a heckin TANK. Resolution is on point. The backlit screen gives my sleeper cab an entirely new atmosphere, which it definitely needed.

Overall im giving 3 stars because of the complete lack of a paper manual, which yes, can be found online. Thats not my deal here. My main issue is this monitor specifically requires a 45 degree rotating mount, which is not stated in the product information.

I was not pleased to say the least. But my work around was buying x2 thim metal plates and drilling a 100mmx100mm diamond and with the help of spacers i was able to attach them to my previous mounts.

Will probably be returning this monitor, it has issues running g sync in windowed full screen / borderless windowed. Saw it was on the nvidia compatibility list and thought that it would be ok but so far nothing but issues.

When I first hooked it up I had issues with both of my monitors blacking out and turning back on, then I turned g sync to work with full screen and windowed full screen and went to launch a game. The game launched and was a slideshow and crashed within 30 seconds, this happened with multiple games.

I changed it to fullscreen and it somewhat works but there is still noticeable ghosting. Speaking of ghosting if you turn the response rate up to fastest settings via the monitors menu the ghosting is unbearable, I tried different solutions that people had posted online to get g sync to work in windowed mode to no avail.

It will ether always crash the game on launch and a couple times it even hard locked my PC. I’ve used DDU and fresh install of windows and the problem still persists. If I’m going to spend this much on a monitor that promotes itself as g sync compatible I expect it work and not only work partially.

The hardware this is paired with is i7-8700k, 32 gb ram, RTX 3080, 960 EVO m. 2 SSD, I even tried this with my other setup that uses a RTX 2070 and it has the same issues. Will probably be returning this and trying to find an actual G sync monitor but it seems best buy doesn’t really carry much of a selection especially 1440p 144hz or higher.

The image quality of this monitor is subpar straight out of the box, you will need to do some heavy tinkering to get it to look good via nvidia control panel and monitor settings. Also if you have an AMD card free sync will probably work fine but I would not recommend this to any nvidia users.

The design of this M27f monitor is really impressive. I didn’t realize that HP made such fantastic products. It reminds me of an apple device. The screen is extremely thin (about 1/4 inch) from the top down for much of the total height.

For the bottom 25% there is a thicker portion but still is only about 1 inch thick. The boarder is miniscule on three sides, with a thin strip (less than 1/2 inch) at the bottom. This monitor is really very nice from a design standpoint.

It is very well built and weighs in at around 7 pounds; other 27 inch monitors are going to be around 14 pounds and with a much thicker profile. If this is important to you, I highly recommend considering this series from HP.

What I didn’t realize when I purchased this monitor (my fault really) is that it is only FHD with a max resolution of 1080p. Depending on your setup and how close you are to your screen, this can be a problem.

For this reason, I am planning to return this monitor and replace with a different one. Even so, I love the design so much that I decided to replace with the HP M27fq, the same basic design but with a resolution up to 1440p.

I think that will work a lot better for my setup. For information, there is also a M27fd model which includes a USB-c connector and can power your laptop up to 65W, and includes two USB-a ports on the back which could be used for keyboard/webcam/mouse/etc.

My only complaint — I wish HP could combine the fq and the fd models — a QHD version with USB-c connectivity! That would be very handy as it would eliminate my need for a separate hub and power source! Anyway, all these models have the same beautiful design and I highly recommend considering them.

## Setup and Design It’s important to note that this monitor is not meant for wall mounting and has no VESA-compatible mount points on the back. Therefore, plan on using this monitor with its included base.

The monitor has a minimal design with very thin bezels along the top and sides (the bottom bezel is a little larger). The buttons for power and navigating the on-screen menus are located on the bottom of the monitor towards the right.

The setup menus contain options for adjusting FreeSync, the response rate, and image sharpening, as well as the normal brightness, contrast, etc options you will find on most monitors. The monitor has 2 HDMI ports and 1 VGA port for older systems.

This monitor is lacking a headphone jack, so you will not be able to output sound via the HDMI connection to the monitor. ## Performance The monitor has a 1920 x 1080 (1080p) resolution, so if you already have a 1080p monitor, you won’t be able to “fit” more on the screen just because this monitor is larger.

However, if you’re squinting at your current 1080p monitor and you would like the onscreen elements to be larger, the 27″ size of this monitor can definitely help. The 5ms response rate and FreeSync technology also make this monitor good for gaming.

I tested out the monitor while playing a round of Fortnite and gameplay looked great on this screen. The LED backlight and IPS display provides a consistent viewing experience across the display, even if you’re viewing the monitor from an angle or if you’re looking up at the monitor while slouched in your chair.

The monitor has a matte finish which helps reduce glare and reflections while still maintaining a surprisingly sharp image. This monitor includes an always-on blue light filter that reduces the amount of blue light you see, which can help reduce eye strain and help you relax more in the evening.

However, even with this filter in place, I didn’t find the image to be overly “warm” like a phone appears when its “Night Shift” mode is active. Colors still look great on this monitor, so you likely won’t notice that the blue light filter is even there.

## Summary The HP M27f monitor works great for both gaming and working-from-home purposes. The matte display with blue light filter should help those that suffer with eye strain from long hours in front of a computer.

However, you likely won’t be able to mount this monitor on a wall mount or other adjustable desk mount as there are no VESA mount points on the back of this monitor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic my son has not been able to attend Kindergarten in person. Instead, his school provided him with a Chromebook and, for nearly an entire year, he has been participating in Remote Learning.

We are lucky to be in a school district that was able to provide him with a computer, but the screen is so small that it is incredibly difficult to help him with his school work while standing over his shoulder.

Plus, such a small screen does a poor job at displaying each of his classmate’s video feeds. When his very first eye test showed that he needed glasses, we decided he needed a larger monitor. This HP Monitor has been quite a refreshing upgrade.

The 27 inch size is perfect. Not only does he have more real estate for his school work, but he can now actually see each of his classmates in greater detail. The monitor is incredibly lightweight, easy to set up, has clips on the back to organize the cables, and it easily tilts forwards/backwards – although unfortunately, there are no height adjustment options.

I also appreciate that the front of the monitor has an small icon that shows where the power button is. (All of our other monitors seem to hide the menu buttons which can lead to frustration. ) The screen appears to have almost no bezel at all – although when the monitor is turned on, there is about ¼” around the edge that does not display an image.

Also curious is that the Blue Light Filter is always on. We do like that the filter should be better on our son’s eyes, but I would imagine that many users would like the ability to turn off the feature so that images can be more vivid for content such as games, or movies.

Apparently almost all new monitors have a blue light filter option somewhere in their menus (usually “night” or “low light” settings). Even with the blue light filter always on, the screen’s color appears accurate (although I have intentionally avoided comparing it to another monitor as blue light filters tend to make images appear slightly more yellow).

Because the blue light filter cannot be turned off, because the resolution is only 1920 x 1080, and because the refresh rate maxes out at 70 fps – I would not suggest this monitor for PC gaming…. even though it does include AMD FreeSync (which is a technology that reduces misalignment between the screen’s refresh rate and the frame rate of the source content being received by the Monitor.

) HP claims that the color produced is accurate, but with the blue light filter this simply cannot be the case. Also, gaming now is commonly 4K at 120 fps which is beyond this monitor’s capabilities.

For anyone now working from home, this monitor is a fantastic option. It is large enough that it should be able to be used as a single large monitor. But, be aware that if it is used in a dual monitor set-up, the image may look different if paired with a different monitor model (as again, the blue light filter cannot be turned off).

I’ve Unleashed and been using this ultra beast now for over one year now and I’ve been pushing it to it’s full potential extensively using my RTX 3080 Ti GPU & Gaming Consoles. Forget the “Pro’s & Con’s” Here is the Truth: I purchased the “LG UltraGear 27GN850-B model” which is pretty much the same monitor as the 27GL850-B but without the (USB-ports).

Let me tell you. This Monitor Dropkicks” the QHD 2K 1440p -144hrz & HD 1080p 100hrz gaming competition out of our solar system with it’s raw IPS performance!! It is a phenomenal gaming monitor and I have experienced three other gaming monitors so far, Now 4! It delivers vibrant, accurate, and consistent colors with the fastest response time speed equal if not better than any other IPS monitor in the market from 2020 into 2021! I’ve been giddy like a kid again enjoying the extremely low input lag, and tear-free G-sync action!.

There’s plenty of additional useful features that I am loving like the “Cross-Hair” input option that actually helps in fast paced FPS games. I thought it was just a gimmick but I was schooled by it’s attribute.

Other features like “Black Stabilizer” which lets you tune/tweak the blacks/shadows within games and media to your satisfaction! Also, there is a “Game Mode” a preset configuration of different calibrated styles like “Gamer Mode 1 & 2 which are for a variety of different games that gives you the ability to tweak & configure them both to enjoy your favorite games! There is also an “FPS Mode – RTS Mode” For when you need to quickly switch to the easiest optimized gaming mode as you jump in and out of multiplayer games.

Other modes like HDR Effect – Reader Mode & sRGB Mode gives the user the edge for entertainment & work related uses. But the best of them all. “My Favorite” = “Vibrant Mode” this mode (in my opinion) is excellent for Movie watching and especially for single player open world Games like The Witcher 3 & Red Dead Redemption 2, and also The Last of Us 2 which I’m currently playing on my PS5 and it’s Gorgeous running at 2160p/60FPS due to the wonderful radiant colors and finely tuned gamma/contrast ratio!.

I could ramble on about how good this monitor is but I’m sure you get the point. Now for the other Truth: My only warning to anyone who loves to use monitors in the darkest of rooms will of course notice there is some IPS glow from the edges of the screen and some minor backlight bleeding.

So to those who might be wondering what does that mean? It means the deep blacks within videos/movies that appear on screen look more like very dark grey and at bad angels there is shiny reflections/glowing from the corners of the screen but for games you can work around that with built in features/options as I described above.

Also easy fix is to just turn on a lamp or burn some candles which will brighten up the room a little thus negating some of the IPS glow. But with that said this small downside does not have a negative impact on me with my every day enjoyment/experience with it, but it might for someone who like I said, “Really Loves” to watch scary horror flicks or prefers to work/edit in the dark.

Overall: This LG UltraGear QHD LED IPS Monitor is a premium (Savage!) For the $400+ price-tag this is one of the top 5 best of the best gaming monitors you can buy hands down!!. For someone who is looking to upgrade or is a new adventurer in this landscape.

“I Highly Recommend This Product”.

For the money, this is an excellent 2K gaming monitor. Since I use nVidia, having the G-SYNC compatibility really does optimize this monitor. If you are going to use HDR, make sure you have a GOOD graphics card, such as the GTX 3060 series.

DisplayPort and HDMI are standard, but I always recommend DisplayPort for gaming over HDMI. The smoothness of the graphics on screen is wonderful, and I have not seen any issues on the borders of the screen while using my computer on Windows or playing games.

LG makes some nice monitors, and I recommend them overall. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars is for the monitor you can sometimes get the same or a little better currently, but this is still a really good monitor.

The other reason for the four stars is something I have issues with on many gaming monitors, and that is the on-screen controls from the bottom of the monitor. I have never been a fan of this, and I think there should be easier ways to use the onscreen controls for the monitor, even adding extra software for install on your operating system.

Purchased this monitor to use as a primary monitor for my 2012 Mac Mini Quad Core i7 with 16GB of RAM. I use this one along with an ASUS VG245H monitor. This monitor is connected via the mini-display port (V 1.

1). I initially had used the 1. 2 version of the display port and the monitor would suddenly click off without warning. I realized that the mini may not be able to keep up with the more advanced setting of the 1.

2 version for the display port and once I switched, I haven’t had any issues since. Overall, this is a very capable monitor with great features that you can use to customize it to suit your requirements.

I use this in the 2560 x 1440 HD resolution and whatever I am viewing is always very sharp with outstanding color. This is a very bright monitor, which I wanted, but is adjustable as well. The monitor only has a 5ms response time but I don’t play games so I wasn’t concerned by this response time.

I also use the versa mount for both monitors and they look great together. I would have purchased two of these had the price been lower, but decided to get the smaller VG245 to complement this one and I am very pleased with the performance of both.

Also, I wasn’t sure the 2012 Mini would support two monitors like the ProArt. I really like the fact that the monitor has multiple connectivity (display port, mini-display port, HDMI) as well as 4 USB 3.

0 ports as I usually have multiple disks and accessories connected at any one time. Another reason I chose the ASUS monitors was because they come with a 3-year warranty. If you are looking to upgrade your monitor without breaking the bank, this is a good choice.

While I run an older desktop computer, this monitor will be around when I eventually upgrade my 2012 desktop. I do have a MacBook Air (M-1) and I can connect it to this or the other monitor without worrying that the monitor will not be able to keep up with the laptop.

I definitely would recommend this monitor to anyone.

Ordering was easy, arrived quickly, good build quality. Picture quality not as expected from a Dell monitor. Odd purple-ish color cast I couldn’t correct without ruining reds. Could not get whites crisp, looked light-grey.

Brightness (subjectively) doesn’t seem to reach 300 as advertised. Attempted manual adjustments, I don’t have confidence that it can be adquately corrected with a Spyder calibrator. HOWEVER, skin tones on photos are unexpectedly nice though not fully accurate.

Use: 2nd monitor for software development and photo editing. Replacing a mid-2010 iMac I was using as a 2nd display. Connection: Display Port to a late 2020 27″ iMac. Subjective comparisons to: a) past experience with Dell monitors on Dell machines, e.

g. sVGA/DPI, including photo editing. b) the 2010 27″ QHD iMac it is replacing as a 2nd monitor. Summary: Should be just fine for gaming and for office work if you’re not picky about color and don’t have it sitting beside an iMac.

PROs: + 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time + QHD (2540 x 1440) for a very reasonable price + Sharp text and graphics + Good color rendition, IPS panel is very nice + AMD FreeSync Pro; G-Sync compatible + HDR is an added bonus (although honestly rarely used) + Comes with HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Hub cables included + USB 3.

I purchased two of these and they are sharp and clear with mostly good color rendition (maybe they need to be calibrated?). These are G-Sync compatible, which is a plus for anyone with Nvidia graphics, although this only works over DisplayPort, not HDMI.

The menu system is very nice, although this leads to one of my complaints — the buttons on the back of the monitor are right aligned, so if you mount the monitor side by side, the monitor on the left is harder to adjust the OSD menu.

The USB Hub is a very nice inclusion here, and an unexpected one. I was not aware of this before purchasing, but it provides extra USB 3. 0 ports. This makes it easier to plug in peripherals as needed.

The 165Hz refresh rate is great, although not quite as obvious as the adjustment from 60Hz to 144Hz. Once you’ve tried a refresh rate 144Hz and above, it’s hard to go back. Cursor moves are smoother on the screen, and everything feels more responsive.

At full resolution of 2540 x 1440, text and icons do appear very small (I had to adjust Windows to 125% magnification to compensate). At 27″, this is about as high a resolution as I would go. If you want a 4k monitor, I would definitely recommend a larger screen size too.

The extra resolution does make graphics sharper and also provides extra screen real estate for applications. Overall, these are a welcome upgrade from my previous LG monitors. Dell is a consistent manufacturer of computer peripherals, and I am rarely disappointed by what they produce.

Solid construction, great picture quality, and a good price point makes these hard to pass up. Highly recommended!.

With this monitor, HP is definitely trying to deliver a monitor in that perfect sweet spot of performance and price to which this monitor definitely delivers. Upon first unboxing this monitor it is evident that the build quality is on par with other HP products as the stand is very sturdy and is visually appealing.

Upon setup, the functional aspect of the stand is great since it allows you to not only adjust the tilt, but also the height. In regards to the height adjustment, it is not as difficult as other models as it moves very fluidly with ease but also locks in so you don`t have to worry about it moving once it is locked in.

One other physical aspect of the monitor is the navigation buttons as this is something minor, but I have had issues with ease of use with other monitors where this monitor even allows you to program the buttons to your preferences which is great.

In regards to the actual performance of the screen, I must say I was definitely impressed with an IPS monitor that is also 144 Hz. I could definitely notice the difference in regards to the brightness with it being an IPS monitor along with the 350 nits of brightness.

Then on the other end with the refresh rate, this is something that can`t be stressed enough of the importance as once you go from 60 Hz it is difficult to go back so the fact they were able to incorporate this in the monitor with such a good picture at this price is phenomenal.

The only slight negative with this monitor would come into play if you were using a gaming console and a PC as there is only one HDMI port though you could always use the DisplayPort for your PC. Overall, for the price of this monitor you get superb build quality, great function of the monitor with it having both a tiltable and height-adjustable features, an IPS screen that delivers bright colors along with 144Hz for the price it really can`t be beaten.

My uses: Software Development, 3D Modeling, 2D Art. I had some high hopes for this monitor, so I bought three of them since I have a triple monitor setup. I was very disappointed, here are the issues: 1) There is always a noticeable sheen of light on these screens if you’re not looking at them perfectly centered, revealing very poor viewing angles.

I have a triple-monitor setup and I notice this especially on the other screens. There is no pure black, there’s always a dark gray light emission and it throws me off when I’m coding CSS to match dark colors that end up looking off.

2) Two of the screens appear to be defective, there is some seriously noticeable light bleeding from the bottom of two screens, especially since I work in Dark Mode. It’s very distracting when working on any graphics, web development, or even watching a movie.

3) One of my screens came with a dead/stuck pixel right in the center of the screen — at the eye level — that can’t be unseen. Absolutely infuriating. I will be returning these soon. The only good thing about these monitors is that they are very simple to setup, and the hardware itself looks nice and the base looks nice.

You can swivel and tilt, but you can’t rotate the monitor without rotating the base with it, this made it difficult to position a triple monitor setup with my desk setup. If you’re ok with light bleeding and not-great viewing angles, then you might be ok with these monitors.

They are pretty cheap for what they’re supposed to be, but that of course came at a cost of quality.

Bought two of these for a dual monitor setup. Once setup, I immediately noticed something wrong. One monitor was far brighter than the other. A quick check of settings showed they were the set for the same brightness (85), yet the right monitor was very dim.

Upon further digging, I noticed the OSD menu was slightly different on the dim one compared to the normal one. Thinking back to when I was unboxing them, the two monitors had different styles of styrofoam packing.

Why? Yet the boxes, model numbers, everything looked the same. More fiddling with the OSD menu, the dim one had a “max brightness” setting, where the bright one did not have that setting in the menu at all.

I turned it on, and boom! Instant brightness to match the other one. The other problem became apparent — the monitor that was dim has a reddish cast to it compared to the other one that has perfect whites.

So with the monitors side-by-side, put a browser screen right in the middle so it’s on both screens and you can easily see the trouble monitor is not white. I checked all the OSD menu settings and they matched the other one and nothing would fix it.

In Windows display properties,, I noticed something — Windows saw the good monitor as XF243Y and the bad monitor as XF243YP. A-HA! I checked the box for the “P” monitor and nothing on the label shows anything about being a “P” variant.

The labels were not the same either. They looked different. So, buyer beware, there is an inferior “P” variant. The easiest way to tell which one you have is the styrofoam. The packing for the “P” monitor is like a sandwich with the monitor and stand in the middle of the two pieces of foam that has to be fully removed from the box.

The good monitor has foam that you lift the top half out of the top of the box, allowing you to remove the monitor and stand and the bottom half stays in the box. The “P” monitor is going back, and I’ve taken pictures of the label of the good monitor to do a match.

My Quality star rating is based on an average of the good and bad monitor. The good monitor is excellent.

Great monitor, bought two of them refurbished. The max refresh rate is 165hz and they’re buttery smooth. The colors look great. The included stands are very easy to put together and are very convenient.

You can rotate them 360 degrees or move them up and down very easily, and you can also rotate the monitors themselves 90 degrees either way for vertical use. These monitors are a steal considering what I paid for them refurbished, and even at the brand new price, I think that they are good bang for the buck.

The menu is also very easy to navigate, much more so than other monitors I’ve used in the past, and there are a lot of convenient features in the menu. They also go quite dim if you’re like me and like your monitors dim.

The only negative I can think of is that per my calculations, the PPI of the screen is about 92. This screen size is the biggest I would go for a 1080p monitor, and if you sit close to your monitor (less than a couple feet away), you can see the pixels.

That said, at normal viewing distance, it looks absolutely fine. Definitely would recommend these monitors.

I cant find anywhere in the settings where you can set the 75mhz refresh rate. Also the colour was not as good as expected. But then MSI sent me some instructions on how to adjust the colour settings using the Nvidea (graphics card) settings and it was much better but still not as good as my laptop monitor.

I think it has something to do with pixel density not being as good. Even though this has two speakers, it sounds crackly and awful. Its a nice curved screen though. To be honest, I dont know if this is just typical for the price I paid.

The Design is topnotch, the color is almost accurate(This monitor i found better in this price point), PPI is also good, it emits less blue light. for programming it is really nice and productive for me.

Most of the time i am infront of the monitor so it affects less in my eyes. The internal sound should be improved and type-c should be included in future models.

I have only had this monitor for a short time, but so far it is met all my expectations. I was looking for a new monitor upgrade to support 1440p gaming and after hours of research including reading and watching reviews, this model repeatedly emerged as a top contender.

I certainly could have went with it’s smaller (and decidedly excellent) 27-inch cousin, but for the price I treated myself to the 32-inch. The cost was a bit of an extravagance, yes, but not unreasonably so.

The build quality is high, and setup was easy and quick, with HDMI, DisplayPort, power cable and the monitor-to-computer USB cable all included and saving me that extra bit of shopping or scrounging.

I did anticipate that I would have to tinker with the settings for the best viewing experience, but to my surprise this was not so. Whether this was due to factory defaults or an enterprising technician somewhere along the way, I do not know, but it was appreciated.

All in all, the monitor has done exactly what I have needed it to do. As stated, setup was a breeze, largely in part to the versatility of viewing angle, larger screen-size and height adjustment. The rotating feature is also neat, though I currently do not use it, but it is nice to have the option should I ever need it.

While others may disagree, the unit really does not have a huge footprint. The legs are well-placed and have a notably degree of clearance for cables and cord if needed, while providing a very stable platform.

This combined with convenient USB hub and “cable hook” — I cannot really call the latter “cable management” — allowed me to greatly improve my space efficiency. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a solidly built, versatile gaming monitor that delivers excellence performance.

I purchased this monitor as a secondary monitor after good experiences with other LG monitors, including the GL850 that this product is a refresh of. The panel quality is good, with minimal backlight bleed and no other display issues as far as I can tell, but there are two massive issues with this product that make it near unusable.

1. (Minor issue) LG has taken to providing a very short power adapter with the main power supply electronics in a large box at the wall plug (as opposed to either an internal power supply or one with cables coming out of each end).

This makes the monitor take up significantly more space than it should on power bricks and required a rerouting of my monitor power because of how short the cable is. 2. (MASSIVE ISSUE) Like some other LG monitors, this product has a broken implementation of “Deep Sleep” or DDC/CI, meaning that no matter what you do, when you turn off the monitor it will act as though it was disconnected, meaning that when you wake it back up, all your windows are moved and you get popups related to G-Sync.

This is *every time* it gets turned off, even with all related updates installed. This is extremely annoying and often means that waking my computer up from sleep takes 45-60 seconds, exclusively because I have to wait for this monitor to reconnect while my screens all flash repeatedly.

With this issue fixed, this monitor would be a 5/5 (like its predecessor). Without it, it’s entirely unusable.

I bought this to replace a way more expensive LG 34” 21:9 144HZ monitor that I just couldn’t get the frame rate I wanted (144) with two RTX 2080 Super Hydro Coppers. So with this monitor I am getting 165 frame rate a 165HZ no OC and 1 RTX 2080 Super Hydro Copper.

With video cards be way overpriced these days (stupid) a good monitor great Frame Rate and HZ balance is a must and LG has it pegged with this bad boy! Playing Call of Duty Vanguard the colors can be washed out and hard to see the other players unless you use NVIDA Experience which carries a lot of baggage, but with this monitor all I have to do is go into settings change from gamer1 to HDR like and you are not putting the monitor in HDR you just adjusting the colors and in game everything is brilliant.

You can see your enemies so clearly. With this new monitor the crosshairs stay in I do not have to turn them on every Time I turn the monitor on and I love that! Right out of the box super easy to set up.

I did purchase a longer DP cable and made sure it was capable so no issues there. LG awesome job. The one thing I wish could get better is G-Sync. If it was true G-Sync the game would be so much smoother.
