Best Horror Games Xbox 360 (2024 Updated)

I don’t know the ins and outs of the video game industry that well. I can say from a casual gamer’s perspective, Valve is titan of video game development. The few and far between games they do release seem to be pet projects.

There’s not a bad game on their roster (Half Life, Portal, Team Fortress, Dota, etc). Left 4 Dead 2 is no different. Left 4 Dead 2 ups the gore, weapons, graphics, and multiplayer features like a great sequel should.

And where it slightly dials down the horror atmosphere of the first installment, it cranks the fun up to 11.

**NOTE** Sorry for my bad english! Every game where there are zombies, infected, or generally not dead, attracted attention, because for gamers, this will no doubt prove a reasonable cause to “kill” an “enemy” who “deserves” a decapitation or amputation of a limb.

When the first Left 4 Dead many wondered what ever the case, a survival horror, a sort of plagiarism to resident evil. None of this, indeed, to the expense of just hype that the game was able to arouse the title soon proved a blockbuster, offering players xbox360, above all, the first real game where cooperation with other players is vital.

In this sequel mechanics are taken verbatim from his predecessor. A group of 4 human is forced, reluctantly, to having to cross southern areas of the United States crammed with infected, fighting, thus for survival with the use of weapons of body body, firearms and objects that effort will keep them for life as long as possible.

The new material is the introduction of melee weapons (10 to be exact) and the addition of new special aumentaranno infected (even more) the variety of situations both in story mode mode “adversary. ” Campaigns available are 5, time available right now for various modes playable, which classics campaign opponent, survival, it adds a fourth: the seeker, where, as in the opponent, 2 teams of 4 players in the shoes of infected and hinder Human collect cans to fill in, depending on the map, a car, a generator, or other items that allow the salvation of humans.

A very good variation of games “Adversary” as frantic and without frills, an excuse to throw “the fray” and begin to shoot, or jump on humans. Graphically the title is in order Very nice, nothing that makes a miracle, is well clear, but some points in certain campaigns are epic, see wheat field with a heavy rain, or marshes, which make the atmosphere so sublime that the game wants to give to the player.

So it’s not amazing, but well done to what you need. Then more day and night environments compared to the first chapter, with different situations and approaches more “tactical” mode opponent. The sound seems to be the Achilles’ heel of this title, nothing exciting and nothing will remain as a “tune” in my head, but what little is done discreetly.

The gameplay is perfect, after a couple of games you will know perfectly master the human and mechanics of the game, very intuitive, we will give also great satisfaction when you use the infected in match opponent, where you’ll have a world to attack the opponents with the new infected (the jockey, a kind of a jockey the spitter: an infected spitting on the ground and pools of acid do devastating damage to humans, the charger: it seems that a tank “Charge” literally as if they were human bowling).

The longevity, as the first title, will give you hours of entertainment, online course, especially if played with friends, where a minimum in the tactics of the infected (Both in “adversary” or with “seeker”), raise fun and the desire to test new strategies and new combinations of moorings.

The power of those infected in this Chapter really exaggerated, had inevitably rebalance the scoring in the opposing party, very well made and balanced, where indeed a meter more made to salvation than the opposing team may decide victory or defeat.

Left4Dead was back then, at the expense of the criticisms that have accompanied the game, you demonstrates, once again, and it does screaming, which is one of gaming experience more fun to live and online friends.

Lemme tell y’all something, my package was delayed by a couple days and this person emailed me apologizing! They are amazing. And so is this game. Thank you for giving me the chance to play it again.

It is as awesome as I remember, and a god-send since I can’t run it on PC. Sadly the free baseball bat expired in 2009 but I’m grateful it was still included.

Don’t get me wrong this game is super old now, but it is probably the best zombie video game of all time. Resident Evil is definitely the best zombie series, but Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are definitely the best zombie games of all time.

I am so excited for the possibility of a remaster. Great characters, good pacing, slight comedic relief occasionally and all around tense and high staked.

Incredible replay value with many modes, including 4v4 – 4 survivors vs. 4 infected and user-made coop maps and campaigns. Left 4 Dead has multiple difficulties to choose from which changes the gameplay experience.

The game is hectic and fun to play with or without friends. If you decide to play the campaigns alone with ai bots it can be quite frightening. The setting is as believable as it can get and oozing atmosphere through graphics and sound.

A great buy in 2008 and a great buy now with a still active playerbase online on the Steam platform.

This series was and will always be my favorite. I loved each and every moment of the whole game. Advancing through the different maps. I loved zombies since forever and this was one of the first games I played revolving around the subject matter.

Never have I played a game that had me laughing, scared and glued more than Deadly Premonition did. Absolutely under no circumstances do not let yourself find out anything about the story before you jump in to this weird and wonderful Action/Horror/Comedy.

You’ll love it that much more if you can keep it a secret. Pros: Some of the best storytelling, comedy, character development and setting I’ve ever seen in any video game. Ever. There is no other video game like Deadly Premonition.

It’s a shame too. I’d love to go back again to play it for the first time. Truly One of a Kind. Cons: Graphics are straight out of PS2 era. Tank controls (ala Resident Evil 2). Driving (at first! – it gets much better if you put some work in!) The map system is also a bit confusing at first too.

All this being said – I believe all of these “faults” are purposely done to the player and all contribute to make Deadly Premonition what it is. 5/5 stars for a gripping, insane and hilarious scarefest that is impossible to replicate.

If you think you’ve played everything – you haven’t until you’ve seen what this gem has to offer. Maybe some day we’ll be lucky enough to get a Deadly Premonition 2 where we learn a little more about York’s past adventures/cases.

One can only dream.

Deadly Premonition is both awful and absolutely amazing. On the one hand, the controls are clunky. The visuals are also PS2-esque. But for all its problems, DP shines as a unique comedy, horror, and story-driven game.

The cutscenes are delightfully amusing and hilarious. The characters are definitely memorable, with a few nods to Twin Peaks. And there are a hundred other details that keep this game fresh for a long time.

Even the occassional mistranslated sign is somehow amusing enough to warrant a glance and a laugh with friends. Whether you like this game or not will depend on your sense of humor and adventure. If you like pleasant eccentricity, bizarre (and sometimes awkward) humor, exploration, and laughing at the game a bit; then this game is for you.

Make no mistake, DP has its problems. Exploration is made more difficult by a lack of map zoom-out. Combat is tedious, so set the difficulty to easy! Chase scenes that have you rapidly moving the thumbstick are a little tiresome.

In spite of all of that though, I find myself wanting to revisit Greenvale. And I recommend the Xbox 360 version. Though the Directors Cut has a better map, the added cutscenes detract from the story’s unity and mystery.

Don’t even THINK of buying Deadly Premonition if you’re easily offended by M-rated content (it’s NOT for kids!), expect a standard survival horror game or want something you can show off to your pals as some sort of new graphics benchmark on the 360.

What’s here is one of the most outrageously offbeat games of any genre I’ve played in years since Illbleed on the Sega Dreamcast. Deadly Premonition will absolutely push your buttons if you’re a graphics hound or demand perfection from every game you buy.

On the other hand, you’ll spend a wild amount of time either laughing your head off at the game’s dialog and more off-kilter moments while some of the scarier moments will have you under the couch with the cat or dog.

What’s here is part B-movie, part pure genius and part crazy on a game disc. In other words, DP is so bad, it’s great. The plot has you as FBI Agent Francis Morgan out to investigate a particularly hideous murder, which is standard genre stuff, right? Except here, you’re quite nuts for someone investigating any type of crime.

Morgan has an imaginary friend called Zach he chats with (often with others around!) and at times, the game feels like a mash-up of lost episodes of Twin Peaks and The X-Files with the added bonus of zombies attempting to eat Morgan’s face off.

To try and pinpoint what the game plays like is tough without a full video presentation, but here goes: Imagine an open-world game where you drive or walk around a fairly large town trying to solve a crime while events mostly play out in real time.

Add the craziness of the lead character, the aforementioned zombies, NPC’s with many lines of dialog and their own side missions that affect your case and more and you only get about half of what’s here.

DP is often bizarre beyond belief and has some issues in combat (moving and shooting is a no-go) and driving (it’s not the fastest cop car on the planet, that’s for sure). Nevertheless, it’s an amazingly long game and once it has its hooks in you, time will bleed out all over the place as you spend yet another hour in the world Access has put together.

No, it’s not GTA IV, RE5 or some other bigger-budgeted release. The less time you spend comparing and the longer you play, the game will grow on you. Yes, the game looks as if it’s only slightly upscaled from a PS2 or late Dreamcast release, but this makes it all the more enjoyable in my opinion.

the game is definitely more about substance, but it has a truly outrageous style all its own. The writing is great and very often laugh out loud funny, but there needed to be some serious editing/grammar policing in a few too many areas.

On the other hand, this actually works in favor of the loopy goings on that most will overlook the errors and keep playing just to see what happens next. The voice acting is suitably campy, but the music and sound effects are fantastic.

the scary music fits perfectly, but the jazzy stuff and a few other tunes will have you cracking up and/or shaking your head in awe at how well its integrated into the game. For $20, not only is this game well worth the price, it will make you want more games to have as much bang for the buck as what’s here.

That 5/5 score above isn’t for the barely acceptable visuals or occasionally clunky gameplay at all, but for the overall amount of laughs, scares and just pure FUN Deadly Premonition delivers. Just don’t let the kids near it and you’re all good.

Highly recommended for those who want it weird.

I am way late to the game on this one, but I actually loved this game! Having played Suda51’s Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes before this I wasn’t expecting a HUGE amount since I’d heard the least about this- But it is genuinely my favourite I’ve played now.

The game was funny, gory, occasionally challenging but never frustrating – as the game goes on a lot of basic enemies become one shot kills and the puzzles are usually fairly straight forward, which might take away for some people but I feel it adds to Garcia’s character.

He feels capable of dealing with this dimension. I am someone who will die trying to do something 2-5 times, get annoyed and turn the game off then go back to it the next day and magically do it first time somehow.

That happened maybe twice in this. I liked the world design, it always felt like the areas were different but part of the same world. The shop monster was fun too, the controls were easy to use but sometimes it felt like the laser aim lagged slightly so it was always a push trying to target weak points on enemies in some boss fights.

Some bad points are that the game is straightforward and there’s not a huge amount to think about, I really didn’t like the 2d/paper mini game which was also such a cop out for a huge antagonist boss fight, and I really didn’t enjoy the gentlemen’s club mini game – though I can appreciate that they did add in different gameplay aspects.

I guess some of the humour is juvenile and the game is fairly violent and gory if some people aren’t into that. Overall I would recommend this for people who enjoyed Suda51’s games, RE4 and Sam Raimi’s work.

Why this game never blew up is beyond me. I had to get it again when I knew it was available for xboxone backwards compatibility. The soundtrack is amazing. It is made my Akira Yamaoka who is famous for making the silent hill game franchise music.

The gameplay style is pretty similar to resident evil 5 so it felt pretty smooth. The story is one that has been told; guy goes to hell to save/get his girlfriend/loved one. But I love that as you go deeper and deeper to get her, your partner (who is also your weapons and a demon himself) Johnson tells you more and more about the demons and their role or purpose for the stuff they do.

The game is pretty immature with so many dirty jokes and they sometimes felt overused but overall, this game is just soooo underrated. It would have been so good if they made a sequel. I recommend anyone to get it, even if they’re just Akira fans!.

I used to have this game back when I was in my Xbox days (oh the old, naive days, whatre you gonna do?). Now that Ive blossomed into my Sony stage where I belong, I needed to find this game again! Of course Amazon wanted my firstborn child -who I will have to wrench from the Xbox phase when they come of age- for it.

This copy was half the price they were asking and it works like a dream. Im very happy with my purchase of a cheap ride through nostalgia!.

I’ve got Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U and I love playing it! The campaign has a good storyline, likeable characters, fearsome monsters but there is also camaraderie, cooperation, and a good sense of humour! Romance is also in the air! The Raid Mode is quite challenging with tons of enemies, hard to beat bosses and an array of weapons to choose from and to upgrade! I always go back to play more, to get better, to get more BPs to buy weapons and now with Resident Evil Revelations on my 3 DS I hope I will manage to beat the final boss and to complete the game! Five stars out of five :).

I was introduced to RE through RE4. I love this game because it plays in a similar fashion while keeping the same creepy unsettling feeling the older games had. The majority of the game takes place on a ship that you navigate through.

You’ll find yourself going back and forth through certain areas to get through doors you originally weren’t able to go into until you progressed and found a key. It might seem annoying but in my opinion, part of the fun comes in exploring and looking around for new things to pick up (weapons, parts for upgrades, etc.

) The story kept me engaged as I didn’t know what would happen to the cast and was unsure of some of their motives. There was always that wonder of what would happen next. This isn’t a big triple A game but for a fair price, I recommend this game to all switch owners who like a slower paced action horror game to play.

I especially liked playing the game handheld.

I recommend it to everyone, is a unique and fun at a low price, plus the WiiU version, is the most advanced, I bought it on this site, and at home in this title game hours, why not take it! While Resident Evil 6 slowly begins to show itself, a new installment of the horror franchise from Capcom finally reaches Nintendo 3DS is Resident Evil Revelations, exclusively for the Nintendo portable machine that aims reported high levels of the atmosphere and the terror of the old episodes.

The end result is certainly not scary, in the literal sense of the term, nevertheless, Residen Evil Revelations does not disappoint, proving a title very accurate in every aspect. For a total involvement in the affairs recommend playing in a dark, quiet and devoid of any human presence.

Before going into detail in an in-depth analysis of the actual gameplay, it is imperative to consider a fundamental aspect of the global: the so-called control system. We report the presence of an additional Circle Pad, sold bundled with the game or separately, useful to facilitate certain movements.

Even without this new device, in any case, three different sets of commands provide some comfort to anyone, provided you have to compromise with the cumbersome nature of some actions have always been characteristic of the series.

In particular, the ability to move while you shoot (new) could cause some problems if you lack the circle pad, but with the right training, we did not encounter particular difficulties, they consider that such action does not even appear so necessary or useful for the purposes of survival.

Who would expect a real title from the strong hues of survival horror will be disappointed, because if it is true that the sunny locations and handled situations in Resident Evil 5 are just a memory, or at least take a small slice of the game, it is equally true that action shooter heavily certainly not lacking.

To understand, are more in Resident Evil 4, with the addition of some particularly inspired section in a position to bring to mind a certain Dead Space, albeit with due consideration and in a decidedly less distressing production.

Great game, especially if you played the first one! Definitely on the scary side tho, it is co-op so play with a friend online for a different story experience. Definitely a great price for it and on the cheaper side.

Dead Space 2 is an amazing game. I’m going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character’s internal struggle, but Dead Space 2 is about more than this. When I beat it for the first time, I sat on the couch with my heart racing and dissected the journey I had just taken.

Then, I started my second playthrough, and when that was done, I jumped into a new game for the third time. Dead Space 2 is just that good. It’s been three years since the events of the first game, but protagonist Isaac Clarke still can’t catch a break.

At the beginning of Dead Space 2, he wakes on a space station known as the Sprawl and finds the place is overwhelmed by an outbreak of reanimated corpses called Necromorphs. From the very first moment of the game, Isaac’s fighting for his life.

This is where you come in. As Isaac, you’ll pick up your plasma cutter, don an engineering suit and take the fight to the beasts out to kill you. The overarching goal is to find and destroy the religious idol (known as the Marker) causing all of this, but the story that makes Dead Space 2 great is the internal war Isaac’s fighting.

Unlike Uncharted’s Nathan Drake who can kill a few hundred pirates and never seem worn down by it, Isaac is totally ruined by the events of the original Dead Space. He saw things no man should have to during his time on the spaceship USG Ishimura, but it’s the fact that Isaac’s girlfriend died on the vessel after he encouraged her to work there that really haunts him.

Isaac’s losing his mind in Dead Space 2. The guilt is tearing his very sanity apart. That’s heavy stuff and it makes for a really engaging story. Isaac doesn’t let anyone else in on the fact that he’s coming unglued, so as a player I get to see who he really is and the facade he presents to the other characters.

Isaac’s internal conversations and hallucinations are among my favorite parts of this game. But I have lots of favorite parts to Dead Space 2. Right behind Isaac’s struggle on my list of cool stuff is the combat.

It’s more satisfying than it was in the original. Isaac’s fast and light on his feet. You can stomp crates in a jiff and melee attack bodies for loot, grabbing things with your telekinesis is responsive, and mixing all of this together with the different weapons in the game is a blast.

Slowing down a Necromorph, blowing off its arm, and using the severed limb to impale the foe on a wall is a thing of beauty that doesn’t get old. Dead Space 2 is pretty much the best haunted house attraction ever.

Visceral stripped out the stuff that slowed down the original game (backtracking, getting disoriented, etc. ) and ended up with a fast-paced game that’s suspenseful and scary at the same time. You’re funneled down these halls and corridors on your way from Point A to Point B, and ghouls pop out for you to blast.

I know that “linear” is a bad word in the video game industry, but the package is so well done here that I can’t knock Dead Space 2 for taking me on a very specific ride that’s marked by awesome moments, environments that range from a cheery schoolhouse to pitch black rooms, and sound that’s so well done I’d find myself trying to figure out if it was a monster making its move or my dog rummaging in the living room.

Toss in some new disturbing enemies and surprises I won’t ruin for you and you have a game that can feel like “the same old thing” at times but becomes much more than that as a whole. End result, BUY THIS GAME NOW!.

This game didn’t improve upon anything that was available in the first game. Well, unless you include the multiplayer. which I wasn’t able to play, because apparently I need a pass code that supposedly came with my manual, otherwise I have to buy another one.

Sorry, but from what I read, there isn’t much to the multiplayer on this game. There’s a couple new monsters, but most of them are just slight variations of monsters that already existed in the first game.

I found most of the battles in this game to be annoying, since the enemies would often spawn in front AND behind me. This is very problematic, since you can’t run and gun, the monsters are much faster than you, and they usually take a few shots before going down, so this means that you’re going to get beat-up quite often.

Despite that, I actually didn’t die very much in combat, and instead died plenty of times in the scripted, cut-scene parts. It sucks when I’m trying to see what button I’m suppose to be hitting (turns out, it’s always the A) when the directions keep floating in and out of the screen.

It’s a good thing that I can see where I have to go with just the press of a button, because the game doesn’t do a good job of showing or describing what you’re suppose to be doing. I also fell out of touch with the game when I saw Isaac go through ridiculous situations that should of resulted in death; it’s one thing to fight off numerous enemies, and it’s another when you watch your guy fly super fast through space, numerous times, and narrowly avoid splattering collisions, only to land perfectly in a vent or something and come out fine.

I don’t know about you, but I want to play as the guy that earns his survival instead of gets it luckily handed to him. To top off my complaints, I never actually even finished the game. The last part of it is pretty annoying, and when I finally got to the last boss battle (or at least what I thought to be the last battle), I just couldn’t handle being constantly swarmed by enemies.

I went through the whole game thinking “man, I hope the next battle is funner” only to never have it happen. I guess that does it for the complaints. The good stuff? Well. still nice graphics and scares.

I just really wish they would have done more than copy and paste from the first game, tweak a couple things, and take out the fun :(.

Dead Space series is one of the best horror shooter games around today. It has a great story line and some very unique enemies to kill. Some really creepy stuff happens on this game. The control to the game is really smooth far as combat and working around in the game enviroment.

Dead Space 3 is very different than the other 2. You have to find material and blueprints to build your weapons and there are only Suit Kiosks and benches around and also unlike the others, it only has automatic save or Save and Quit for the game.

I have played this game many times and I still enjoy playing after all these years. It is a tradition for me to play Dead Space as a treat for myself at Halloween. Scary good stuff. You really do get to feeling real sorry for Isaac and the mess he gets into in Dead Space 3.

What in the Necromorph can happen next to him.

Took me until 2022 to finally play this game! Loved the first 2 but the demo for the 3rd instalment never struck the same cord. I glad I did as its a solid game but not as good as the originals! It goes for pocket change so buy a copy, you wont be disappointed!.

Are you kidding me?! I repeated those words a thousand times and more, playing developer Visceral Games third installment of the Dead Space series. For those who’ve played the previous two youll find familiar atmosphere, returning weapons, a smooth continuation of unluckiest-engineer-ever Isaac Clarkes story, as well as some old and new foes to dismember – including humans this time.

For those without prior experience in the Dead Space universe, I recommend getting properly prepared. Lights off, volume up, and a couple changes of pants nearby for repeated crapping out of fear and sheer awesomeness.

Up until this latest iteration the Dead Space series has always been more of a survival horror genre, giving the player a claustrophobic sense of isolation. But this time Isaac is a hardened alien-slaying bad-ass with the ability to use the workbench to fully customize and create increasingly diverse and powerful weapons.

While this is admittedly pretty sweet, some of the horror is reduced by the player becoming so empowered. For newcomers to the series part of the scariness comes from the fact that it seems like youre always outnumbered and outgunned, and your opponents dont die from typical head-shots but from dismembering limbs.

It takes a little bit to get used to when every other FPS out there pits you against opponents with more-or-less human anatomy. Ultimately however, thats what this game is: a shooter. Its a shooter with a neck-tingling environment, a chilling Lovecraftian story, and bizarre monsters, but its still a shooter.

Its just not the same pure survival horror that its predecessors were. If youre looking for what Aliens: Colonial Marines should have been the perfect blend of horror and action then this is the game for you.

Its like what I imagine the lovechild of Resident Evil 6 and the movie Aliens would be. Except less face-huggers. With no HUD, breathtaking graphics, and subtly chilling score, it will draw you in and keep you on edge the entire time.

Its an incredibly huge change of pace from the brightly lit and shiny FPS that are wildly popular, where you generally run around as a soldier on a mostly tan map shooting other soldiers with assault rifles and rocket launchers.

The only times where the immersive experience is lost is when you have to run around doing much-hated fetch quests (surprise!). The sense of being hunted becomes something more akin to being harassed and enemies suddenly jumping out of vents stops being scary after a few times even if almost every encounter made me jump ten feet in the air.

I had a lot of fun playing this game, and I had just as much fun watching the reaction of my friends when they played. Only the most jaded of gamers could think that Dead Space 3 is anything short of awesome.

Even though the campaign is only about 12 hours long, there is a co-op mode that offers unique missions and requires a different strategy to be successful. That, combined with all the possible weapon customizations on the newly revamped workbench to experiment with, and youve got hours and hours of fun on your hands.

If you want buck-for-buck value on your gaming experience, then this gem is worth every penny. 4/5 Stars. Easily.

You ever have one of those moments when you buy something not really understanding why you bought it. Than you come to realize that it has something you wanted that you didn’t even realize you needed but you need it all the same.

That’s what Dead Rising 2 for Ps4 was like for me. I bought it out of a whim for $11 and it was a great nostalgic ride to the past. Dead Rising 2 is not a game to be taken seriously. It is an installment in a line of humorous zombie slaying games by Capcom.

I owned Dead rising 2 originally on xbox 360 when it came out in 2010 and I also owned Dead Rising 1. Dead Rising 2 is great mindless fun! Epic and stupidly funny psycho battles, huge hordes of the undead, big “open world” to explore, survivors to rescue, mysteries to solve, lots of varied outfits, and combo weapons! What is not to love.

Like I said the game doesn’t take itself seriously. So if you are looking for another “The Last of Us”, look elsewhere. The Ps4 version has crisper graphics, a steady frame rate, and amazing sound quality.

I personally like the somewhat cartoonish look to the game. It has a pretty color palette to the entire mall/city complex. And I even thought Chuck was a pretty relatable guy. He just wants to ensure his daughters safety and survival.

What more character growth ormotivation do you need? The dialogue is cheesy but I like that about it. This game kinda has a campy kinda feeling to it. Very relaxing to play. The only thing I didn’t like was not being able to explore Fortune City without a time limit.

For $11 I got this for a steal and I was amazed at the game I didn’t know I needed back in my collection. I haven’t played Dead Rising 3 or 4 seeing as how I don’t have a xbox 1 but when Dead Rising 4 comes to Ps4 later this year I will definitely pick it up.

This game made me a fan again. Here’s to hoping they make Dead Rising 3 for Ps4 too. Get back out there Chuck! Who else has the ability to make a lightsaber with just jewels and a flashlight. What, no hands are up? I thought so.

I’ve played the first Game, Dead Rising and it was very frustrating, poor controls, poor graphics and just very frustrating however back then, game selection was limited when the 360 was new, it was Dead Rising or play more Perfect Dark Zero.

Back then with so few 360 titles out, I “had-to-like” playing Dead Rising 1. Now, games have evolved since then, I’ve played lots and lots of games to name a few favorites: Bioshock 2, Batman Arkham, Left for Dead 2, Resident Evil 5, Alan Wake – just to name but a few.

Many games have improved and I have come to expect new releases to be much better than the older games years ago. Not so with Dead Rising 2, it is pretty much the same, in fact a little worse, the graphics rendering will give you eye strain.

Dead Rising 2 has video cut scenes with audio but in game there is text-only messages or when I interact with survivors in the game, its text-only – I ask again “why?” and why the dumb dialogue. I have to hit the “B” button at each sentence to continue in a paragraph dialogue.

Oops, I keep picking up junk with “B” button when I am trying to talk to this person whose moving around with loitering zombies. I have to feel for the aim to make sure I can button “B” talk. Time is ticking.

Yes, there are still time-limits to complete missions or “cases” and this time, the mall is bigger and “Chuck” jogs, he doesnt sprint, run or hurry, he just leisurely jogs. (I guess, find a bar, find a mixer, mix juice with coffee, something to make a “quick step” mixer or combination drink.

) and Missions, its almost a guarantee one needs Internet access to get answers to finding the “you know, that underwear store near the statue. ” like that tree in that forest over there. Clock is ticking.

Co-op, playing with someone else seems to be a good idea, helpful for those hard to take down Pyschos but again, me and my buddy are kind of dog-chained to each other, unlike survivors that can be accidently left behind, I cannot progress to the next section without my buddy, I thought we could independently explore and solve cases, nope, we “have-to” be together.

Tick-Tock. Multiplayer, if your like me, I play ranked games, there are 4 varying types of games to gain points, kill zombies and earn money (which can be used in the game). but it may take a while, people are not playing this game as often and like many other crappy multiplayer games eventually there will no one to play this online with.

Theres hype and theres type. Hype: To me , there is no real change in gameplay, no actual gameplay improvement, a follow-up title should be better than its original, this one is still the same. Type: yeah, its wierd and “OMG like” has zombies, its so campy and cool.

I kind of expected this game to be the same when I first seen its start up screen, I thought “perhaps maybe it changed, improved” but as the game started and I gained control of “Chuck” I was disappointed, and said “yep it still plays the same” and me remembering “frustration with the first game” I think, you have to “get-use” to this game and the gameplay in order to like it.

Like it enough to play completely through it, some people (like my buddy) didn’t like it and felt she was being “court-ordered” to play through DR2 with me. Oops, Time ran out, Fail. I can continue or restart.

Lets see, I have only 3 saves to choose from and I last saved about an hour ago in that one restroom way back there, guess I will have to restart from that one.

Dead Rising 2 is a pretty good Zombie Killing game. Not as good as the Left 4 Dead series, though. But, what is really cool about this game is that you can pick up so many different things to use as weapons.

What I didn’t like about this game was that it is single player. Co-op is online only- which I wouldn’t had bought this if I knew that. We only purchased this one because the description said ” Co-op play comes to the world of Dead Rising for the first time” and went on saying nothing about it having to be online.

No split screen. So, pretty disappointed with that. We are just taking turns playing this.

My favorite resident evil game for sure. What I like about this game is that it’s multiplayer offline too. The game is really long because you can play indifferent campaigns playing as different players.

My favorite campaign was Pierce and Chris and Leon and Helena. The scenery changes as well, sometimes you’re in the snow or in town. It’s really fun when you play with someone like I would play with my husband.

The only thing I didn’t like is that when you’re playing as the secondary player in multiplayer with only two people, you are always running out of ammo and it’s hard to find some. But you can also fight which is good.

It has a lot of action and weird creatures that you have to defeat.

Capcom got the controls down pat for the first time in the series. The game looks really good, there were some neat graphics and details to the creatures. Negatives- They went with a formula to the campaign that made the play out very similar, using many popular gaming schemes for example throughout all of them there are times where you have quick time running events similar to Uncharted series.

To me when they added these wrinkles in the game it just felt cheap. They added a new icon display you can pull up to direct the player to the objective similar to Deadspace/cod. To me they added all the things going for other gamers and in the meantime lost a franchise that use to be survival horror.

There are not many moments that scare anymore, the game feels and plays more like an action shooter, and as a die hard fan from the playstation one games, I was sorely dissappointed in what the became.

On a personal preference I dont like the perks/system that they use instead of leveling up weapons you have perk/skills and I am not thrilled with. The stamina health is great way to make close quarters combat fun and yet keep someone from just spamming meelee throughout the game.

The meelee includes over the top moves similar to those found in a professional wrestling ring that are tongue in cheek funny. Once again while they are neat and feel over powering, its hard to be scared when you are laughing or laying the smack down on zombies.

The game is a really good game, its just dissappointing that this is the direction a once awesomely scary franchise went.

I loved this, there definitely is not enough games like this. At first it seemed difficult to stick with the riddles and game play but I was very pleased I did, I felt such a sense of purpose. I really wish there was a saw 3 game.

Game came in 3 days earlier than expected date. Saw is a favorite movie franchise of mine and I enjoyed playing the 1st game. Wanted to get my hands on the 2nd one and got it

It was a really fun game, the story is very interesting. I do wish though the publishers (Tango Gameworks & Besthesda) had included all the DLC from the “Season Pass” already within the pc game. The only DLC you get with this game is the “The Fighting Chance Pack”.

The DLC that has to be downloaded seperately includes: The Assignment The Consequence The Executioner The price of the DLCS total to 24. 99. Overall I recommend this game and it was an amazing experience and quite addictive.

The twisted scenery invokes curiosity as does the derangement of the antagonist’s mind. Five stars for sure.

One of the first things I had heard about this game before I played it was that it was the “spiritual successor” to Resident Evil 4. Having never played RE4, i purchased it for the first time in my life.

Having played both RE4 and The Evil Within in about a two week span, I must say I enjoyed the similiarities of the two but ultimately thought TEW was a better game. Although I will admit, I returned the game after getting frustrated with the first hour of gameplay.

Despite this, it kept calling my name so I bought it again and I’m so glad I did. The Evil Within has one of the best if not the best uses of atmosphere and lighting that I’ve seen in a game. It immersed me in a story that was at first kind of confusing, but as you play and just simply think about the world around you and the main antagonists position in the world, it all comes together beautifully.

The creatures of the game are genuinely frightening. When I first played the game, if I was seen by just a simple enemy NPC, it scared the hell out of me because I never knew what to expect. But as you get more ammo and more guns you start to settle in nicely and realize they’re not as scary as you first thought.

The boss fights are incredibly challenging, and more often than not you will be killed in one blow if you get to close to any of them. Running and being mobile is very important in this game. If you sit still, you will die.

You need to be able to think fast as well as some scenes will require you complete a puzzle before being allowed to move onto the next area, whether or not you kill the boss and/or regular enemies. I did think this game felt incredibly similar to RE4.

Coins from RE4 is Green Gel in TEW. The shooting is nearly identical- both games have your aim instable and shaky and both give you the ability to improve it. Breaking boxes is similar, the hordes of enemy sequences are similar, everything feels pretty hand in hand.

That being said, I’m sure if I had played RE4 when it came out I would’ve thought it was better, but having played both of them in 2018 for the first time, TEW just felt as if it had more replayability, better gameplay and more mature storyline (RE4’s characters and voice actors felt elementary to me.

Especially the dialogue between Salazar and Leon). But as far as TEW rating goes, if it wasn’t for the beginning sequence of the game that ruined my first experience, I’d rate it 5/5. Amazing game, well worth your money.

Just get past the first 3 chapters and that’s when it starts to get really good.

What can I say about this absolutely amazing game? I’m not sure how to put it into words – the idea that this game is brilliant and so unconventional. It’s an idea that I have never seen before in the gaming world, and it was incredibly well executed.

The characters were realistic and likeable and I genuinely cared about what happened to them, the enemies were very well designed and actually made me shudder. This game is amazing, and I cannot record Ed it enough for someone new to the horror genre.

Never played the first Dead Island but I’ve had this one on preorder since last year when the steelbook cases were in stores. Always been a fan of the zombie genre and I figured this was a great place to start with the games.

Anyone picking up this game and not the first will feel a little lost at the beginning but the story is good enough to stick on its own and not leave you scratching your head. Some of the quests can be a little repetitive at times, but once you get to the point where you have guns; everything is right in the world.

Nothing quite beats that feeling when you put a sniper into the face of a boss mob and blow it’s head off in a single earth-shattering blast. It’s even better when a single shot takes out a group of zombies.

Grenades are great as long as you don’t blow yourself up, too. Riptide looks amazing as well. I felt the graphics were on par with Halo 4 and other titles. Didn’t mind standing on the top of a building or tree house and just looking at everything around.

Slightly long loading times were a tad annoying. And my only complaint is the multiplayer system. Both players should have to confirm that they want to join together rather than one person just deciding to join someone at random.

Would find myself in a party without even knowing it. Also, when someone joins a party, almost all of the zombies in the area respawn which can nearly get you nuked if they’re right on top of you. I spent 42 hours on the first playthrough and only got 71% completion.

Going to have to go back as the other characters and try for the rest. So many sidequests and stuff to do!.

The game itself is fair, but I didn’t get the Rigor Mortis Edition for the game alone. It’s still a LOT better than many games out there today, and it’s a good sequel to Dead Island. But I got the rigor mortis edition for the collectibles.

The briefcase is FANTASTIC. As is the little hula bobble girl and the hotel key. I love those little novelty items. Plus for the price, it was fantastic. The game itself IS quite good as well, and provides a lot of gameplay for the money, even though I’m more looking forward to Dead Island 2/Dead World.

There are a few holes in the actual story, but they’re forgivable. You’re playing this for the campy fun of a zombie apocalypse, and you definitely get that.

If you played the first dead island there you may find this to be a tiny but repetitive as it does sort of follow the main story lines flow but it does offer heaps of new missions and expirences plus a new twist to how the zombie outbreak is spreading.

The game is not as long as the first one but offers heaps of new fun things to do like running zombies over in boats, chainsaws, bazzokas, sniper rifles and even gattling guns off a helicopter. I definatly enjoyed the gameplay, at first I thought it was rather boring as was kind of annoyed that the game automatically starts you at lvl 15 when starting a new character but it does make sense since this is a continuation from the previous dead island game.

The game is not a buggy as the first dead island but there were still a few problems with it. The game was rather easy near the end as your weapons become redicously overpowered. The game had a good story with its own little twist at the end but pretty much same flow as previous game.

The graphics were alot better and game runs smoother then the previous dead island. Definatly recommend playing it if you enjoyed the first one.

I highly enjoyed the Silent Hill series on the PS2. I spent a lot of time playing these games back in the day and it’s great to be able to play them in HD. The voices take a little time to get used to but I feel they are an improvement over the over-the-top acting of the originals, though in SH2 you can opt for the original voices.

The game does have some slowdown issues when there’s a lot going on though it doesn’t happen too often. The games are really dark and still have the atmosphere they had back in the day. SH2’s storyline is a little bit better in that it deals with a lot of themes whereas SH3 is more straightforward.

SH3 does better in the creepiness factor, having better scares and creepier locales. It’s a shame though that SH4 did not make this collection as it would have been a solid piece too. Should you pick this up? I think the game plays better on a PS2 so I would recommend that if you are able.

My PS2 got ruined so this has been a nice replacement. The only ‘new’ feature is the SH2 sub plot ‘Born from a Wish’ that only appeared on the Greatest Hits and Xbox versions of SH2 so it may not be worth picking up if you already have the originals.

It is one of the greatest horror genre video games so if you haven’t played it, I’d recommend picking it up. The newer games (Homecoming,Origins, though I’ve not yet played Downpour) have not done the series any justice.

First off, the game came SEALED. That alone justifies its price point. This collection is so awesome and I highly recommend this seller. The game was delivered fast and without hassle!

RE: Revelations 2 is by far one of the best games in the series. It’s what RE 6 should have been in my opinion. The graphics are great, controls are intuitive and the HUD is way better than the ones found in RE 5 or 6.

The Revelations series for Resident Evil have been a breathe of fresh air for the franchise. RE 5 was aggravating to say the least and 6, even though it was very good looking was ultimately a terrible game.

If you are craving something more akin to the earlier RE games then the Revelations series are for you. The first Revelations is good (and still better than RE 5 or 6) but Revelations 2 is just phenomenal in every way.

The Raid Mode is ridiculously addicting as well. This game gives you many incentives for multiple playthroughs. I already own this title for the Xbox 360 and I liked it so much I bought it for the One.

First of all it is the entire game which includes the main four chapters and two extra chapters. Game play was great I thought, a mix between RE5 and Code Veronica control themes in how you upgrade your weapons.

In saying that it is behind the back camera like RE4 ( which is what I much prefer) so don`t get confused, this game goes back to those jump scare tactics as best as possible and I think the balance between that and not feeding you too much ammo makes for an excellent play.

The story is quite good and isn`t so action based so horror fans welcome and there is a slight tweak in endings depending on how you`ve played the game ( yes no spoilers). Raid mode is much like mercenaries other than the fact that you upgrade your weapons and abilities and I`d say its done well but enemies start off too slow in the beginning difficulty levels but works its way up so not too much of a drag there.

The two extra chapters are unique to the main story, Moira`s extra chapter is really good and tells the story between Clair`s chapters and Barry`s. All in all the game last a while I`d give this an 8/10 and is well worth getting.

I have played/defeated Resident Evil 2, 5, 6, and Resident Evil Revelations. The game is compelling were you control 2 sets of people set a few months apart. The player must switch between the 2 characters as one is good for spotting things and the other is better at combat, yes in both groups.

It’s dark with a great story. The graphics are good, not great. I like the way you need to switch between the characters. It isn’t a pain and each character has slightly different advantages. If you like Resident Evil get this game.

This is one of the better stories. The controller is set the same as before and it is more survival based.

Great value for the 2 games, Saw gives me no problem, I can play it, stop it, start it again and it works fine. However saw 2 flesh and blood is not letting me play. I only got these to play for nostalgia as well as some Ps2 games for my Ps3.

Everything works fine except the one game. Disc looks perfect but for some reason it just doesn’t play.

The software would not install properly, and everytime I attempted to install it, which also caused my existing Doom 3 software to no longer work, forcing me to uninstall both & Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, followed by reinstalling my original Doom 3, and download its patches, to see if I find another way to install and get this Resurrection of Evil software to install & work properly.

I was fortunate the first to times that my original Doom 3 software managed to save existing point in the game, which was at the beginning of level 19 (Delta Labs 4). I also did my best to download load any need patches in amore than one logical proceedure.

On the third attempt to install Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, I received the same problems, and couldn’t get it to work. The last time I attempted to install this new software to my computer I lost saved point in my at the beginning of level 19 of my original Doom 3 software; therefore, I had to start from the very beginning of game on level 1, after re-installing my existing Doom 3.

What happened the last time was my fault from a certain perspective, because I attempted a more risky/unordinary approach by giving Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil its own seperate root folder in Program Files (x86), instead of going by the recommended approach that unfortunatly wasn’t successfull, by installing it within the existing original Doom 3 folder, within Program Files (x86).

Nevertheless, the received error messages that I experiences during the furious efforts of attempted installation, seem to be related to the form of drivers/setup of my video card and/or something similar to that nature.

When I attempted to install the Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil software, I virtually the same lengthy error message each time, which begins with the following: “Wrong game DLL API version. “. I wish I better defined understanding what the overall cause to why it would not install successfully; therefore, I would have more information to work with, so I could correct the existing problem at hand.

I understand that the error message that I received during installation may refer to driver issues. Nevertheless, I have all updates for my video card taken care of. My original Doom 3 software has never had any problems working properly, and I downloaded all the patches for my original Doom 3, plus I attempted to download the patches for Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil to see if that would help the installation proplems.

I haven’t gotten around to returning it yet. I have never had the experience and/or no how proceedure of returning purchases via ebay; but, I plan to do so when I can find the time. My time schedule is more difficult during this holiday season, amongst other things.

I don’t find any fault with this product to be related to the seller. The condition of software appears to be in good shape, as explained by the seller.

If I was reviewing this game when It came out I would have been more excited about it. I went back to play it just because I felt like I was missing out on a classic. After about 3 hours of play, I went and got the “duct tape mod”, which attaches a flashlight to most of your guns.

The switching between flashlight and weapons got old real fast. After I was searching a pitch black area and then walls drop to reveal enemies, I was shooting into the darkness not knowing what was going on.

I see how they tried to make it scary that way, but it just dosen’t work in most situations. I’ve played about 7 hours of the game now and I’m a little over half way, but I can’t bring myself to finish it.

It’s very monotonous and after the same tricks have been used over and over, you realize its just a grind. The game still looks good compared to todays standards (PC version of course), but the gameplay just isn’t there.

If your a die hard Doom fan this is up your alley, but if your looking for something more, look elsewhere.

This expansion pack for Doom 3 added some great new enemies and a good story that made creating a “sequel” seem worthwhile. The end boss was more of a challenge than the Cyberdemon from Doom 3 and thankfully wrapped up the open ending from that game.

If I had to list a “complaint” or something I would have done better it would have been to make the PDAs in this game add more story than just locker codes and even though this is a well-paced shooter, there were moments where I was left wanting a bit more story to keep things interesting.

Still, the level design is solid and there are some neat new mini-bosses which made this a good purchase. especially if you’re a fan of the Doom series.

I was late to trying the Dead Space game series (like super late, first played it on game pass on the series x). I like to collect the physical copy of games that I’ve played so once I finished it, I had to buy the physical copy.

DK Oldies had the best price and I was confident that the game would work. I’ll be back next month to buy the second game!.

Wow, this game is amazing. one of the best games I have played in a long time. When the first creature appeared I was startled and I liked that and you had to run from it to get your weapon. the graphics in this game are great.

the creatures look amazing and so do the rest of the characters and the background. the story is great and the voice acting is great. the intensity of the game is great as well, you are always on edge not knowing when a creature will come out and attack you and the music is just icing on the cake.

EA did a great job with this game and I hope the rest are as good or better. If you have not played this game then I recommend you do. This game is Gametastic.

SPACE! The final frontier because literally everything is trying to kill you. Very interesting gameplay mechanics: zero gravity (3 dimensional puzzles and combat), combat in a vacuum (that sweet flamethrower you built doesn’t work so well without oxygen, and neither do you, you dense meatbag), power to slow things and enemies, telekinesis.

Good variety of enemies and boss fights. Combat does get a bit repetitive after you master fighting strategies and weapons. Lots of jump-scares that get a little old after a while. No multiplayer – but you didn’t buy it to fight other people.

You’re a man, woman, or non-binary necromorph that enjoys a good story, with a twist!.

The controls for this can sound daunting but in truth I got used to them within the first 15-30 minutes of play. At the beginning you are rather concious of the ‘lag’ from when you perform an action to when the game carries it out, however within the first 45-60 minutes I found that I no longer noticed a lag.

I reckon it’s so small that you can begin to unconsciously predict it and time your moves accordingly. Surprisingly for me at least, I found the story better than I had first expected, the game takes the time to set the scene and guides you through with decent cut-scenes.

The graphics are in a sort of ‘House of the Dead’ style in which the gritty style seems well suited to the game. There is a wide variety of weapons which is good, and the game is pretty good at getting the targeting of individual limbs correct which proves helpful if your foe has a particular fleshy part you want to target – usually the head is a good bet 🙂 In addition to the storyline you can find ‘tapes’ left by a detective who was here before you and your group, and these were pleasantly interesting to listen to.

I found myself scouring every area to make sure I didn’t miss one because they always left me wanting to know what happened next. The variety of enemies is good and some well thought out variations require some thought before you tackle them.

For example if you find a banshee (who’s screams making you have to cover your ears – a great touch as Kinect recognises this) you will be vulnerable to non-banshee enemies who will attack you undeterred by the screaming while you are still covering your ears.

Other enemies who use some kind of projectile vomit can cover a lot of your screen with green-stuff, a good tactic is to try and lure an enemy between you and your ranged foe and wait your moment. When I got this game I brought the Kinect up from the family room (unlike most Kinect titles this is NOT a family game).

However I originally found the game unresponsive even after tweaking with the Kinect calibration and trying to exaggerate my movements. Then I came to a realisation. I was wearing black Jeans while using Kinect on a dark blue carpet (as opposed to the shiny wooden flooring of the family room).

I quickly swapped into a pair of cream shorts which, to my immense satisfaction, solved the problem entirely – they are now my dedicated Rise Of Nightmares shorts 🙂 Over all I think this game is a very promising start to full-on Kinect games, apart from having some bad points such as the inability to look up and down, I would say this game is a definite buy for anyone who wants to see how Kinect can handle a full game rather than only mini-games.

It certainly surprised me with how well it copes. It is exciting to think that developers are still fiddling with Kinect and hence future games should improve quite a lot further from this. The one thing this game requires is patience and for you to try and immerse yourself in the game and it’s controls.

Also, never forget the golden rule of Kinect – close the curtains (or someone might see you).

This is a great product for any Xbox 360 kinect fan who is also looking for horror. You walk through zombie infested areas while slicing and beating foes into submission. You walk by leaning forward or backward (or raising right arm), turn with shoulders, use your hand/hands to interact with objects (opening doors, grabbing weapons, etc.

), punch with fists, kick with either foot, throw items with hands, or beat zombies down with weapons(using hands). It has a decent story line that will keep you pushing towards the end!! There are various zombies and bad guys to keep horror fans locked in! Expect blood and gore!! This is a game that could get repetitive after a while but it is a great deal! I personally think this is a game I will revisit for years to come.

Game play is fun if you like lots of slasher gore without strategy. The kinect interface is a bit wobbly, but is unique and interesting as well. In the beginning I got stuck on simple things which was frustrating.

After awhile one gets use to game play and things improve somewhat. If you have a really fast xbox this game would be better. Waiting for the kinect hand to appear and wobble around to choose an icon can be tiresome.

As a good point, the game seems to work almost all the way in the dark, which makes a scary game more fun. To play you sort of wander about and slash at monsters that jump out. Or go into rooms and slash at monsters in there.

You can kick at them too. This game is a good try for what it is. Don’t expect a miracle, and don’t be all serious, and you will enjoy this game.

Love this game! played it myself a few times and then re-played with my husband and holy cow it was so much fun! Both with and without a partner to play with. The story is great and not as scary as the newer RE games but still worth it especially if you are just getting into the resident evil franchise!.

Well I played RE4 which was the first RE game I played and I didn’t think it could be matched but I was wrong. I won the game multiple times and got unlimited ammo for all weapons. The graphics, guns and sound are just incredible.

The underground mayan like adventure is incredible not too mention many great boss battles. Chris Redfield is so damn tough at fighting in this one it’s awesome!!! Love this game and will play again after I finish Revelations which I won’t rate as good as 4, 5 or 6.

Wesker is one tough SOB!!! Have fun beating him!!!.

I love the RE series, and would have given this 5 stars, but I think that RE 4 and RE Revelations are far superior. I like the fact that you can pull up a real-time map of the area so you’re not lost in mazes and the game allows you to set your weapons in a cross pattern within the 9 boxes of items you can have so you can quickly access them with the up/down/right/left button on the controller.

The graphics leave a little to be desired, but I think that’s because it is a little older than contemporary games. Be careful if you buy this used as the disc itself is identical to the RE5 regular edition.

It comes with a coupon in the disc case that allows you to download the additional adventures free of chars. However, if you already have RE5, you can get the same additions through Xbox live. The game is fairly generous with ammo and other items, but I don’t like the limitation of only 9 items in your case.

Also, the different weapons to buy and/or upgrade is a little confusing. Capcom still has done a good job continuing the saga of this still popular series. If you can get it used, do it as I wouldn’t plunk down the full retail price for this one.

I would rather spend the money for RE4 and Revelations.

Best game ever made for xbox 360 and part 2 is even better. You will be addicted to this game and it is much better playing a game requiring some skill than watching reruns of a tv show that went off the air 10 years ago 🙂 I wrote this review 10 years ago and still play this game online almost daily in 2023.

Batting hapless Survivors to death with the Tank is a joyous violent release. The Versus mode’s alternating teams ensure that everyone gets a chance to enjoy both factions and never gets bored.
