We have a problem with no-see-um gnats that bite ! They are in our screen porch and we cannot keep them out since they are small enough to enter thru the screen. We keep this machine going throughout the day, although the blue light is fairly subdued so not many gnats are caught until it gets darker. On some nights we use this in our bedroom to catch any stray gnats or mosquitoes that have gotten into the house.

I was worried about the noise from this product but it is actually very quiet, especially on the lower setting. We also found that it works better when placed near a night light as it attracts the bugs even more.

I bought this for my office after a recent outbreak of fruit flies. I was beyond exasperated with the endeavors of the operation team to treat the problem, so I purchased this on my own in an effort to try something to control the issue.

I ran this on silent mode overnight and returned to find a dozen fruit flies trapped on the sticky pad – definitely already making more progress than the professional bug service or the small cups of apple vinegar placed in various places throughout the office.

This purchase is worth every penny already, and I’ve had it for less than a day. I will say – the instructions say nothing about the 2 white sticky pads included with the machine. Simply remove the adhesive, and place the pad sticky side up in the bottom of the machine – as the flies fall through the machine, they will stick to this adhesive pad.

You can then discard the adhesive pad at anytime and replace it with a fresh one. I will need to research to see if you can buy replacement adhesive pads.

We are plagued with mosquitoes (thanks to neighbors with funky pools – ugh). We don’t like spraying chemicals in the house so I tried this product as a last resort. This stuff works pretty good to keep away annoying gnats, mosquitoes and flies. I buy a few bottles and give to friends as well as I have issues with horseflies as well as pesky flies and gnats when out cutting the grass as they like to get me when I’m not looking.

So I spray this on my face (eyes closed), arms. legs, pants and shirt as well as the backs of yourself especially your neck & shirt as they like to get you from behind. Smells pretty good overall it has peppermint, Geraniol, clove or Lemongrass Oil which they do not like.

Michigan customer. Stink bugs are all over southeast MI, so I bought this from home depot to see if it would help against stink bugs. I applied a spray around (pretty much) the entire perimeter of my house, both interior and exterior.

Aside from a few dead stink bugs here and there, this product is USELESS against them. I still see freaking stink bugs all over the main floor of my house, and occasionally the basement, and especially at the patio door where they mostly get it the house.

It’s been almost 2 months, and stink bugs are STILL getting in. Also, that’s just the insecticide part of things. This is such a horribly designed product, it’s amazing that it passed Ortho’s quality control.

Whoever designed this “comfort wand” needs to be fired. The wand applicator is flimsy and will randomly decide not to spray, or spray very lightly when the trigger is held. This has been the case right out of the packaging.

This made spraying high/hard-to-reach places an absolute pain, because at times the wand would spray with very little pressure, and it would end up dripping down the wand and and getting all over my hands/arm.

Absolutely worthless product, and I don’t plan on buying any Ortho products in the future. At least for stink bugs. It seems to work for boxelder bugs, but it does say stink bugs on the “works on” list, so this was still nothing short of a disappointment.

How does one tell if it works and will continue to work for an extended period? I am not sure how to rate this product. Getting the unit ready takes less than a couple of minutes – a minute and half to read the information and less than a minute to get the wand connected and ready to go.

The provided wand with the included battery makes it really easy to get going. The spray speed is controlled, steady and not forcefull and so the stuff does not get all over the place. This is good. And yes, unless one has oversprayed, the stuff dries pretty fast and does not leave any odor.

My biggest need for this product was to stop the ants from coming into the house as winter gets close. During summer, I use outdoor granules on the ant mounds in my lawn to get rid of the ants but I understand that the ants really do not die but just move/relocate to another place.

I cannot do anything about that but I am hoping that having sprayed the areas where I normally see them, they will not show up this fall/winter. I do not have to worry about roaches or other bugs inside the house.

I do see the occassional silverfish but ants are my big issue. I will have to come back to this review after a few months with an update of whether the ants packed it in and moved to a different location or if they laugh at me and still make their merry way into the house.

A couple of issues to share – the spray wand works and makes it easy but I fear adding more batteries and plastic to landfills. I am knocking one star out for this. The whiny sound of the motor does not inspire confidence of a long life although it got the job done.

Okay the biggest reason we got this is ants! Our house is old and I swear they are in the walls. Every Spring and then again Summer about 2-3 times they take over in the bathroom especially. A few or so years ago they took over in the kitchen and in one spare bedroom and we used Ortho (that was given to use to borrow from a neighbor).

That was enough to make me think this is a miracle product because those ants stayed away for good in those rooms now, except for a few that were easily gotten rid of again. The bathroom is where they keep returning no matter what and we had never used Ortho in there yet.

This year we caved and used it in the bathroom and now they are hopefully gone for at least another year, too. I have not seen any since we used it. This is probably the best ant killer ever. Not messy or smelly.

The directions on the label are easy to follow. I would highly suggest to buy it even if you don’t have bugs around because you never know when they will appear suddenly. No mess or smell, the wand is handy so I don’t have to bend.

Being older bending can be challenging. Great stuff! No one wants any bug in their house but ants have been especially invasive here.

I purchased this rug for my guest bathroom when I was planning an update. I originally picked this rug based on the color which I couldn’t find in other rugs. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rug once I had received it.

It is a short pile rug which works well in my bathroom since the room is small and the door has to pass over the rug in order to close it. Higher pile rugs don’t work in this bathroom since they don’t allow the door to close without moving the rug.

This rug also has a vinyl backing which makes it nonslip- especially important in a bathroom where water spills are inevitable. The rug is a good size, measuring in at 19. 5 x 32 inches and perfect for my guest bath.

The pile is soft and absorbent, and with the vinyl backing, water doesn’t seep through to my floor. The additional plus is price- always a consideration for me when redoing a space. Definitely a good purchase for my home.

I was really surprised that the product had no unpleasant odor. in fact it had no odor at all! Within days, I saw fewer bugs on the shrubs. I was so impressed that I decided to try spraying some on my beloved rose bushes, and sure enough, with a day or so, there were no bugs on them at all! This insect control has been approved for organic gardening and is designed to control a wide range of insect pests, such as caterpillars, codling moths, gypsy moths, loopers, leaf miners, spider mites, tent caterpillars, leaf feeding beetles, sawfly larvae, and thrips among others.

This is said to be safe to use on fruits, vegetables, berries, citrus, grapes, nuts, and ornamentals. The active ingredient is Spinosad, which is a mixture of Spinosyn A and Spinosad D. If you are searching for an organic insect control then I highly recommend you give this one a try.

Upon further research, this product IS safe around pets and food areas. I cannot speak to how pure the poweder is, as it seems quite a different price by far, abd other products seem to have a different feel to the touch.

This feels like talcum powder with less of a gritty tac than others. I have sprinkled it on the stove top and ants imediately stopped arriving to that area. I cannot speak to its long-term efffectiveness, but it is very affordable.

The bag is the size of a bag of dog food. I am happy with its value.

I swear by this product it does get rid of insects. Some types of ants might not be killed but it will deter them away from where you don’t want them, if you reapply it after awhile again. Make sure you get a fresh bag every year.

Then there is the fact it could kill other bugs you don’t want to kill outside so be sure not to get those involved. I think this is the most natural product to get rid of unwanted critters, even inside of the house.

Nothing’s better than DE to solve all of your pest problems around your garden. Just don’t breathe it in! I use a large shaker bottle like the one used by pizza places for cheese. Dip the bottle into the bag so you don’t have to pour it, but wear a mask and safety goggles just to be safe.

Sprinkle a fine layer around your plants like a light snow and anything that crawls or slides across it, some even try to eat it, will be history.

Had gnats in my grow. Ordered these things called nematodes. I have never heard of such things and so far I’m glad I have. The order came in days before it said it would have which was a major bonus.

I applied them to the grow 23rd of December. I have seen a massive decrease in adults since applying. And seeing that it’s working I am doing what is recommended I’m going to apply another batch to make sure they’re gone.

They seem 2 work so well I’m going to try their other products on the lawn and garden this summer to battle ticks and fleas.

I must admit it is a little early to tell all the benefits from applying this product Sf nematodes but if it works as good as the Sc nematodes I applied 8 weeks or more ago I will be dancing in the garden.

Within 2 weeks of applying the Sc which targets fleas and roaches our house, pets and yard is free of all signs of fleas and roaches. The Sf is more targeted to pests that are hard to control even with chemicals in your garden such as aphids and thrip.

I will really see the results when my fall blooming Orchids bloom.

They were warm when they arrived. I was skeptical. After following the directions though, they worked surprisingly well. I would definitely recommend them.

I was excited to get my Rescue Fruit Fly Trap because it’s summer and that means that the fruit flies are all over the place. I love that this trap because it’s made in the USA and it’s reusable. The trap comes with two packets of natural food-based liquid that is used to attract the fruit flies into the trap.

The trap is spill resistant and Rescue claims that the liquid will work for two weeks, however it does last longer than the two weeks. Once the trap is assembled, it’s ready to attract fruit flies and they will go to the liquid and get trapped in the funnel shaped trap without any weird stickie traps, or electric devices that are annoying to place around the house.

In the summer, it’s inevitable to get some fruit flies in the house, especially if you like to keep fresh fruit around, so this trap is a necessity. I don’t notice the trap at all once it’s set up and don’t worry about it until I notice that the bait needs to be changed.

I would strongly recommend the Rescue Reusable Fruit Fly Trap to anyone that doesn’t like fruit flies in their home! I don’t have any issues with annoying fruit flies now that I have this trap in my home.

Does’t work as much as apple cider vinegar or just a simple pan filled up with dish soap and water. I wanted to try because I use apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap in it but the fruit flies problem was getting worst although it was catching a lot of it.

I put side by side to see who was caching more and this is the results: the first pic is the vinegar method, clearly caught a lot I did even bother to count them. The 2nd pic is the one I bought from Walmart caught 13 fruit flies.

Hand down the best is the old method but that night I left in the sink a little pot soaked with water and soap and the same night I had the winner, 3rd pic. Who knew that a simple container filled up with bubble water could catch so many fruit flies.

Don’t waist you money.

I got this because a couple times every summer I end up with fruit flies in the house so figured I’d keep it on hand. Well the time came to try it out. It’s small and looks pleasant enough. Much nicer to look at than the contraption I built with the top of the 20oz bottle cut off and inverted inside the bottom with red wine vinegar poured in it.

Although this contraption I built worked great, it wasn’t really great to look at on the counter for a couple of days while it worked its magic. This little contraption works in a very similar way, basically giving them space to be lured in by the scent of the liquid but making the escape routes very narrow so they can’t find their way out.

The device came with 2 packets of liquid mix. You use them 1 at a time. They smell strongly of red wine vinegar so I imagine after using both of the packets it comes with, you could substitute rwv and keep using the device.

I set up the device and left it on the counter for about 2 days. I didn’t have any more fruit flies! Basically they go down in the trap and drown, so all you have to do is take the lid off and dump it down the sink.

Clean and easy way to get rid of those pesky fruit flies!.

This product has helped to eradicate fungus gnats in some of my houseplants, but not all. And I’ve had to use it for many months – much longer than the instructions and some of my plants have the larvae, although the numbers are reduced.

I contacted Gardens Alive after using it for three weeks and they said to try for another three weeks. That was back in September. I’ve now been applying it weekly (as directed for heavy infestations) for over four months.

Overall, I’m disappointed, but will keep using it since it’s worked better than the other things I’ve tried.

I treated all my houseplants with a higher dosage (3 tsp/gal) weekly for about 7 weeks before the infestation was gone. After that I have continued with a slightly lower dose less often (most of my plants are semi-succulents so they really don’t need weekly watering).

I don’t know if this approach will work for you, but it worked for me. I also HIGHLY recommend using the pot stickers at the same time. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that I had to modify from the suggested treatment.

I’ve used this a couple times now. Last night there was a giant mosquito in my kitchen and I used this to kill it. It does take a few seconds of use to do the job. And that can be difficult on moving prey.

It does work though. As of this morning, my kitchen still smells. It’s not an awful smell, but it’s not the most pleasant. Overall, if you’re looking for something on the more natural side to rid your home of flying pests, this is the way to go.

I got this product to review. Honestly, works great for flies. However, these Florida mosquitos, don’t give two squats about this spray. They still try flying at me like the little vampire suckers they are! Flies want absolutely nothing to do with this spray.

Which I’m glad it works for said flies. Because they bother me way more than mosquitos!! I will definitely continue to use this for flies. But would love a product that actually works for both flying annoying creatures! Still would recommend for those pesky flies!.

Ok I was skeptical about this but we had a camping trip planned so I thought what a great way to test this out! Once we set up our site I sprayed this around our tent and chairs and campfire. Also, we were right next to a swamp so bugs were very present.

I have to say we did not have any issues with mosquitoes or flies while camping. None. Now was this all because of the spray I don’t know. We aren’t in peak bug season but we still have them for sure.

We had no bug issues and were able to thoroughly enjoy our camping trip.

I wasn’t expecting this to be so amazing but omg IT WORKS!! Our home is like a magnet to wasp and I know they’re good for the environment blah blah but after being stung by them multiple times, and this was when I would ignore them and let them be, as advised, it meant war! BUT I do also have dogs and kids that are usually outdoors with me so I can’t just use anything.

This claims to be plant based and so far the reading I’ve done I am impressed! The smell isn’t awful but definitely not amazing but it definitely gives me a herb/plant scent. The spray is very easy to use and shoots very nicely and works quite quickly.

What I mean by it works it’s enough to get the wasp to stop flying and fall down to their doom! Downside is eventhough I checked and it very easy to find and very inexpensive IT DOES NOT LAST then again maybe I’m using too much but you can’t be too safe lol.

I was skeptical at first about how well this product would deter gnats. Normally to defend your plants against gnats, flies and most types of aphids, it requires several combinations of pesticides (which pose hazardous for good insects like ladybugs and butterflies).

Well, I have found the perfect one-two combination; Growstone Gnat Nix! and GNATROL Organic BTI Fungus Gnat Control. My most successful strategy is to first allow my infested potting soil to dry completely out (recommend plants be strong enough to survive the absence of water for 10-12 days).

Once soil is dry treat with the recommended level of GNATROL in bottled drinking water being careful not to over saturate the soil with the mixture (wetting approximately 1-2″ of the top soil is enough for gnats, much deeper if your pest happens to be fly larvae).

Let the mixture settle (length of time depends on your amount of patience). Finally cover the top soil with the Growstone Gnat Nix! The bag recommends two or more inches of Nix being spread over the complete surface of the soil.

I was able to suffice with 1 1/2 inches for the job. Gnats and including flies were eradicated! However, I’ve not found ANYTHING in the market to rid my plants of one species of pest I don’t know the name for.

They’re cream to white in color, extremely tiny with a slender hard flat body (not round – but shaped like the tip of a straight pin). They jump out of sight when disturbed. And I’ve had to literally use the top of my nail to crush the few that I’ve cornered on my pavement.

I look forward to the company who makes Growstone Gnat Nix! to make a product that will rid my soil of these tiny insects. *****EXCELLENT PRODUCT***** THANK YOU!.

Started with 3/4 inch on top of my soil and it had no effect so I added more. 1 inch then 2 inches. They just seem to crawl right through it. I think sand would be a better option, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I’ve had about 2 inches on top of all of my plants for about a week and a half and I still have just as many gnats as ever. When I tap the sides of my planters, tons of gnats crawl out through the top surface of the gnat nix and start flying around.

Sucking them up with a vacuum is the only thing that seems to help. I tried yellow post-its coated with vaseline. The gnats land on the vaseline, walk around, and then fly away. They do not stick to vaseline.

I only water my plants once a week, so I don’t think I’m over watering them. Perhaps a week and a half isn’t enough time for it to work? I think I’ll use the rest of the bag as a perlite substitute so I don’t have to just throw it away.

This product works well, I’ve tried dozens of natural products to get rid of gnats and this is the most effective. Yes you will see gnats trying to crawl through the layer but they don’t make it through.

It takes a few cycles for this product alone to rid your grow completely of fungus gnats because it doesn’t kill or trap them just prevents them from laying eggs in the treated mediums. If you use this along with traps or other products that trap and kill them you will get rid of them faster.

This product will be used in my greenhouse in every container.

Sometimes I need to search for these so I was glad I found them on Zulily. I use one them in a group of house plant to let me know there are pests before they become a problem. These are great for trapping white flies which could easily become a winter problem here.

I received an off-brand sticky trap that looks identical to the one in the picture. I know its a off-brand because LIGHTSMAX is no where on the box nor the sticky trap. However, the are working great! I have had 1 trap in a house plant of mine for about a week now and I would says it has caught 20 gnats, and it is still sticky.

On paper, the product sounds great. Inside the package are 12 yellow sticky strips, as well as wooden stakes that I could stick the strips onto and then plant in certain spots. The usability is really easy and convenient.

Setting them up took about 20 seconds. They’re small and rectangular, so they should have enough surface area to catch more gnats, as well as fit into small spaces easily. I had a lot of fruit flies recently, and I really needed something to get rid of them.

I thought these would work. I put one near a window where I saw a lot of gnats, and a few others in pots that had tons of gnats. After 4 weeks, I’ve only caught 3 gnats. I’m not sure why they didn’t work.

It could be the gnats are just not attracted to the strip. Because the strip is very sticky – so it should work if the gnats just flew into it. So, unfortunately, even though the quality of the product is good, it just did not work the way the description says it should.

Prayed my yard with a broadcast sprayer. Mixed 2 oz per gallon. Sprayed 5 acres. Product has been in yard for about a week. (No Rain during that time). Mosquitos still around. Not as bad but still have a lot.

I normally use Bi-Fen IT but decided to try this due to price but does not work nearly as well as Bi-Fen IT. I live in rural Louisiana and mosquitos are an issue. This product is ok if trying to spray on a budget, but does not compare to what Bi-Fen IT.

I need the mixing instructions. My bottle got wet and writing is completely gone. You should make writing more durable also. But I’ve looked on several web pages and cannot find the appropriate mixing instructions.

Even the chemical where you turned it in to state doesn’t say how much to mix!.

I bought this product to hopefully prevent mosquito bites on my dogs, rather than using heartworm medication – my dogs are Australian shepherds and I refuse to poison them with heartworm products when I don’t live in an area with a huge mosquito problem.

I have personally had an issue with a non-ivermectin based heartworm drug, supposedly safe for the collie breeds, that cost me over $1000 in vet bills. So, I tried this stuff and it does repel. It comes out in a very fine mist.

I sprayed it on my hand, then wiped it on my dogs’ faces, then lightly misted their bodies. My one dog hated the smell and did her best to rub it off in the dirt and grass. The other one didn’t care.

I would have rated this a 5, except for the smell that bothered the one dog. Otherwise, I do think it works. I sprayed it on myself too and the mosquitos left me alone.

I have a 10 pds Cavachon (Cavalier Spaniel/Bichon). I keep her hair short. When We take her for 1-hour walk every day, she loves to role herself on her back on the grass. She is 8 YO and for the first time last year she started getting fleas.

She wore an all natural product collar and I also sprayed her with an all natural product both from Dr. Mercola. These did not work last year. I started her on VB Natural Mosquito Repellent and that did not work either.

What does work is the VB shampoo to kill the mosquitoes. That product is good. I do need to leave the shampoo on for about 10 minutes. Actually, it doesn’t kill them per say but it does knock them out so I can pick them out and throw them in the toilet.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to start using some chemical collar that repels the mosquitoes and ticks. I did not have any problems with ticks last season though.

Vet’s Best Mosquito Repellent has a really strong lemony aroma that some people might find overpowering, but I find pleasant. The intensity of the aroma does seem to dissipate quickly, as the product dries.

Mosquito season is almost over in my area, so I didn’t have a chance to test the efficacy of this product on my beagle & cats. I live in southern Michigan in a wetland area, & mosquitos are a real nuisance during the summer months.

I will test this product thoroughly next summer (2020), and update my review with the results. I did apply the repellent to my beagle and several indoor cats to see how they tolerated the strong aroma.

The dog was indifferent to the smell, and was happy to receive a treat for his cooperation. He has skin allergies, but didn’t seem to have a reaction to applying the product to his fur or skin. The cats were very curious about the aroma, & really wanted to sniff it.

I spritzed the product on my hands & rubbed it into their fur, since my guys are spooked by sprays, even quiet pump sprays. They didn’t try to run away when I applied it, & sat around sniffing each other.

No allergic reactions from the cats either. I hope that the 2 strays that have moved into the feral cat shelters on my property will allow me to apply this product on them. All of my resident cats are treated monthly with Revolution for fleas, ticks, & heart worm, but that product does nothing to protect them from mosquito bites.

The outside cats really need some help during peak season!.

I had been using the Starbar Captivator fly trap and it was working well. When it was finished I would push the top back down and tape over it with duct tape to seal it up and put it in a trash bag by itself to seal up the smell of death.

I thought I’d give this Rescue brand a try since it was a bit cheaper and it also had great reviews. I hang them from a fence, about 3 feet from the ground (wire hook through the hole in the plastic top).

It captured lots of flies just like the Starbar, but not any more than, and not any quicker. The Rescue has a stronger smell that was way more annoying than the Starbar. Then when I went to remove it and tape over the top with tape, I noticed one of the plastic seams at the top pleat was open! I carefully tried to tape over it to seal that spot up.

Then I noticed it was leaking from the bottom as well. The seam at the bottom was opening up! Before I knew it I had a total mess dripping out on the ground. I covered it with dirt to keep the smell down.

It’s like the plastic bag was just falling apart from a little handling. Maybe it can’t handle the Texas heat and sun. I’ve got two more of these Rescue traps, but I’m not taking the risk of it opening up on me again.

I handle these things very gently because I don’t want any liquid sloshing out. I’ll stick with the Captivator since it is a rigid plastic pail with no seams to come apart.

These things work like a charm. We hang ours on a twig of our ficus tree in the middle of the heat of the Arizona summer. We have a problem with flies near our garbage cans and then they come inside the garage and eventually into our home.

Within 2 days of hanging a new bag there can be up to 40 live flies trapped inside. These little bags have been a game changer. Instead of getting 20 flies a day in the kitchen, we get 2. I spray the house flies with Zevo, (which I also buy/order from Walmart.

) Zevo is another complete and total game changer. I do not care for the smell of Zevo but it is not offensive to everyone in our family, only me, so I use spray Microban (which I also order/buy from Walmart) to wipe up the Zevo oily residue and dead fly.
