20 Best Home Phones For Elderly (2023 Updated)

I bought this for my 89-year-old mother for large buttons and the four extra buttons at the top. The good: The screen is nice and clear with big fonts and the buttons are a good size. The user interface is much better thought out than the Panasonic I sent back.

The volume rocker is useful but. (see below) The top four buttons are the reason I bought it and they great. You can use them as normal speed-dial or as emergency calls to four people where the press A and then calls all people on A, B, C, D until one of them answers.

Very long standby about 8 or 9 days The base is excellent as you can make calls to the four people on A B C D buttons and receive calls from anyone. If you can’t find your ringing phone just go to the base.

If you can’t find that either then you’ve got problems beyond the scope of this review!! The Neutral: The voice quality is not great but my mother understands everything said. I don’t know if it is the phone’s speaker quality or my line.

The Bad: This phone is more for the elderly and one thing they need is volume. Like many have said, the max volume isn’t that high. The phone doesn’t have speed dials on the main keypad – the four, A B C D buttons are all you get.

This is a silly decision by Siemens considering it is meant to be a £100 phone. Also, the ABCD buttons are really meant for their automated emergency functionality so why not put normal speed dials on the main keypad.

Now if you want to call your daughter, son, or a close friend for a chit chat you have to go through the phonebook. A very stupid decision by siemens, practically every landline phone at that price has keypad speed dials.

This quad handset is a replacement for another Gigaset which I was struggling to use, as my hearing has deteriorated, and I was mainly using the old one on loudspeaker especially on a conference call, Although slightly put off by the size of the buttons, they are easy to see and use and it’s also easier to see the letters than on my old phone.

We had a bit of difficulty registering the handsets as they all needed doing on the base station. The next issue was with the answerphone. We have a 1571 voicemail system which supposedly takes 21 seconds to kick in and the answerphone was set to auto with a response time of 18 seconds.

On that setting 1571 answered first and it took a while working out the problem. Now we have set it to answer after 10 seconds, it works fine but it doesn’t leave very long to answer the phone, although once you’ve done that the recording does stop.

The button to increase volume during the call is very useful and the general sound quality is good. When I put my hearing aid onto loop though, I got a buzzing sound, which I don’t think should be there.

It would also be useful to have a louder volume for the ring and a better selection of melodies, as the majority aren’t suitable for people with hearing impairment. We’re using the 1970s ring which is fine.

Our old phone handsets told you which one you were using on the screen – this one doesn’t unless you make an internal call and it highlights which one you’re calling from. These are all minor issues but I’m surprised that in some respects our new phones are not as good as the old ones, despite being the same manufacturer.

Easy set-up and powerful anti-telemarketer device. I was getting up to 12 telemarketer calls a day, beyond annoying. Since we got this phone we get 0 telemarketers coming through. The Smart Call Blocker is ingenious and so simple.

Just enter phone numbers you want to come through and Smart Call Blocker does the rest, robocalls need to press the # key. It also asks incoming calls to record their name and press the # key. In both instances, if they choose not to the phone does not ring and they are put into a “missed call” bucket.

Had five “missed calls” today and didn’t hear the phone ring. Silence is truly Golden! So glad we purchased this phone.

Instructions tend to wander, there is a notation about screening the message while it is playing for the first time, but then it does not say it will happen every time. And sometimes it does not happen.

The procedure to enter allowed callers is tiresome! It appears I must enter each caller by hand if I want to prevent them from having to press any button to be allowed to speak. The two portable handsets are easy and comfortable to hold and keep the charge while I gab a lot! Also, I did not see instructions on deleting the ‘Missed Calls’ count.

I’m up to 43!.

Cons 1. Today, the answering machine function says “not available at this time. ” So, I was not able to receive or playback or change any answering machine functions. What worked to restore the answering machine was to unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds and plug back in.

It looks like over half the messages have been deleted leaving only three out of 10 still on the machine. 2. After 3 months, I have not yet been able to block a single robo / scam call for this phone.

I have added the robo call phone numbers into the “Blocked Calls” directory and enabled smart call blocking, but the “blocked” phone calls still ring through. I found that I have to manually use the “mute” function on the handset to block the robo ringing.

I just don’t want the robo call ringers don’t wake me up in the middle of the night. 3. The main phone system does not have a manual switch to turn off the ringer. The answering machine has to be powered on to get anything other than a basic phone.

Pros: 1. Clear audio 2. No dropped connection unlike my old Panasonic phone. Not recommended for home use.

I bought two sets of these phones for two different houses. I thought I was buying new phones from Walmart. What I received was two open box items with Amazon stickers on them. I just connected the first set of phones and it appears to be working.

I’m just not at all pleased that I thought the price I agreed to pay was for a new, unopened device – this should have been made clear.

I like the system as well as any, but the one button on the handset I LOVE is “CALL BLOCK. ” For some reason we’ve been victims of an onslaught of spam calls lately and that button is the cure! I think this model (102) is the only one that has it.

They don’t ring at the same time. There is a delayed reaction on all of them. & with the volume completely up you still can’t hear. Have to repeat always! Plus makes a beeping sound all through your calls.

I wouldn’t recommend these at all to no one.

like the functions, The digital answering system saves up to 17 minutes per voicemail. Other features include dedicated call blocking buttons on the base and handset, baby monitor, digital phone book, noise reduction and key detector compatibility.

I also love the range of cordless systems outside the house for yard work etc. A huge investment for us. We have an older version that we just wanted to update. Will buy again and also recommend. Great Intercom, we use it a lot , instead of yelling your wanted, supper’s ready you’re needed at a location, the Intercom is the answer.

I purchased this phone at Office Depot in Jupiter ,Florida based on the suggestion of my very capable point man Keion. Since I still have a Landline this phone set up was a great choice for my needs.

Not thrilled. Replacing previous Panasonic set. This one was more difficult to set up and doesn’t have nearly as many places to use a “back” option. Instead, you have to hit “exit” and start the whole process over again.

From what I can tell–and it hasn’t been worth the hassle to pursue it further yet–the one-touch dial and speed dial are pretty much the same thing, so what’s the point? The handsets have fewer features and also don’t include the “back” option.

Harder to read and no volume control button on the the side that could be used while still holding the phone to the ear while talking to someone, a function I used frequently. Now you have to take the phone away from your ear and try to find the small print that tells you what to push for volume.

Also, in setting it up as well as in use, it repeatedly throws the intercom option at you–which, shock! can’t be backed out of–and I don’t have any interest in using one phone to call another inside the house, so I don’t know why they keep pushing that.

The instruction book is difficult to understand and on many things it’s been easier to simply try various things and see what works rather than read their convoluted descriptions of how to use what. Twice in two days I had calls during which the people at the other end simply stopped being able to hear me.

Don’t know if I got a lemon or if it’s a more cheaply made and overpriced version of the last version I had.

This is a good product, but not without it’s problems In setting up. I find this hard to under stand with a product aimed at people with a dlsabilty like trying to understand the instruction that are printed so small that even with glasses on my brother who helps me get it going had great problems in reading them.

Which is shame because it is good product only spoilt by a silly thing. Would recommend it, I nearly put no but hearing how it works and sounds I changed my mind.

the basic phone is easy to use. The amplification boost needs to work even if there is a power cut and batteries might be low. As i am deaf I need more volume than is available on the phone at present I can only use it with an extra volume external booster, which is not really suitable.

Super loud ring, adjustable hand set volume, large buttons and more, It’s given my 88 year old father part of his social life back. Great phone, definately recommend.

So we couldn’t wait to set up this Vtech cordless phone system. We got this 6. 0 set in white. The handsets have caller Id and call waiting built into each handset. The range works really well, and for me that was a big question and plus when I was able to use them in my small business shop area.

I frequently have to go to the back of the shop or outside to assist other clients and need to have a reliable wireless set that not only has good reception, but can also reflect caller id and call waiting when I have a client on the line.

These also have a great light display and loud ringtones. I’m extremely pleased with the handsets! They of course were easy to set up and come with everything you need to get started. For the caller id and call waiting feature you will need to be sure you have those features turned on via your service provider as well.

Did I mention the handset backlit display? They have a great light display for dialing in a low light area. This is a great set for for home or office needs. Durable and works good!.

I had to finally write a review because this phone is so annoying. I normally buy Panasonic but the Panasonic seems harder to clean due to the rubberized plastic. I thought this phone would be good because of the big, flat numbers and more of a hard plastic, which it is.

That is what I like about it. The features are nice, numbers are a good size for convenience and it stays clean looking. However I had ask for the first one to be replaced within a few weeks, the speaker sound on the handset was crackling and the dialing numbers were sticking.

I always put it on speakerphone on the handset when I know I will have a long wait until someone answers or I am doing something else. AT&T provided fantastic customer service and immediately sent me a new phone without even asking for a receipt which I repeatedly offered to provide.

The new phone, same model, after again, only a few weeks or so–when I push the handset speaker button to dial, the numbers you press will stick, most of the time. However when it is not on speaker, the numbers do not stick.

There are other peculiar defects to it, for example I dial a number and it doesn’t connect. I have to hang up, wait a short bit and dial again. No idea why it is doing this. There are other small things that functionally (not feature related) don’t work from time to time.

I use this phone constantly due to work and need a landline. I wouldn’t buy an AT&T cordless phone again. The value is good if it worked and the ease of use is good (features) if it wasn’t defective.

I’ll either try another brand or go back to Panasonic.

Solid land line phone. I bought this for my parents (88 and 93 yrs old) to replace one very much like it that the keypad had worn out enough to be annoying. This phone has better speaker phone quality than the one it replaced.

The ringer is *plenty* loud even on the lowest setting (can be turned off completely if desired). It does announce caller ID info which is handy as well. The option to play back at 1/2 speed is also nice for listening to messages from fast talkers.

If you must have a land line, this is a handy phone for it.

The speaker on the base was broke, I believe some of the buttons as well, without sound I can’t confirm! I purchased online, but returned to neighborhood store. Awaiting replacement, however the replacement delivery was originally scheduled for Thursday, 1/13 but shipping has been delayed! Obviously I’m not a happy camper!!! I had the same model for 5 years and LOVED it.

I dropped the handset damaging the display which is why I needed to purchased a new phone and wanted ONLY the same model again!.

Since I already had the base, it is great to have the ability to purchase extensions; it is convenient to be able to answer my landline from my garage or other rooms that are without a telephone jack.

It is necessary, however, to read the directions carefully in order to “register” the phone and I do miss there being a belt clip or headphone jack. However, the price is reasonable for the convenience.

I absolutely love this phone system. It’s everything that I wanted and more. Love the keypad and speaker phone on the base which is Surprisingly compact. All the features are great. The keypad lights up in blue, which I love and the big bright LCD screen is easy to read day or night.

I purchased this to replace another phone where the screen was basically unreadable. The AT&T CL4940 lights up when there is a call and shows the name and phone number in large black letters on an orange background.

Exactly as pictured on the web-site and great for two-factor authentication for people without cell phones or who prefer to get phone messages instead of texts. Perfect for people with limited vision.

The buttons are also oversized, and the numbers clearly marked. There is no hold button but there is the option to put it on speaker. The ring volume can be increased and I finally had to turn it down because it was so loud.

I did not set up the voice mail because I don’t need it.

Phone workers great, all functions work. Brightness is very good, volume works three ways. Like the fact if someone calls the face lights up, I’m hearing impaired. I’m 71, had no problem setting it up by myself.

But I’m a tech. But easy to understand directions, for a layman. Just one draw back, if you don’t answer that handset, it registers the calls as “missed calls”. Love the phone, got it specifically for power outages, have hubby on hospice, need a working phone.

I bought this phone for an elderly friend who has Alzheimer’s. It was a fairly good choice for him. The only downside is the big red on/off button. He kept thinking it was the Play button and shutting off the answering machine function.

I finally had to put a piece of paper saying Do Not Touch on it. That seems to be working. Another problem is the tiny delete button. I have to go delete his calls periodically. Otherwise.

Scenario: You have cut your landlines but keep missing calls at home and have to play “telephone tag” since you don’t carry your cell phone around in your house/apartment wherever you are or cannot hear your cell phone’s ring.

This Bluetooth compatible handset (comes in 2 or 3 handsets packages) will ring and alert you of that call. If you still have an analog or DSL land line than the base station allows you to connect to that.

You can pair a Bluetooth headset to the system according to the instructions. The only drawback is that only TWO separate cell phones can be paired at a time to the base station. Setup is quick but read the instructions.

Pairing the cell phones is easy (select phone 1 or 2 and it will detect that phone, Transfer of your phone number list is also easy). Text messaging is NOT detected only voice phone calls. You can also use the handsets in lieu of using your cell phone, so if your cell phone is in another room or floor, you do not have to run but pick up the handset instead.

Can use handset to make outside calls too (cell phone of course must be powered up and in “range” of handset. Can set up to 6 rings before the automatic answering kicks in. Handsets need at least initially 12 hours to fully charge then can last a few days without recharge or kept plugged in.

Could not find anything compatible at the competition and what was available was more “expensive”. Did not want to buy something online then have to go through the “hassle” of returning it but picked it up from the brick and mortar location to “look it over”.

Initially bought the 2 handset pack then found the 3 handset in stock and decided to cover 3 rooms for around $19+ more. You can add more handsets if needed but only TWO cell phones can be linked at a time (must replace one cell phone number with another) Like any review, what is “excellent”, “good”, “fair” etc.

to me may not be the same to you or your circumstances. For me this worked so I did not miss important phone calls. It does verbally warn of “Unknown Caller” if that number is not on transferred phone numbers from your paired call phone(s).

This AT&T Cordless Phone with Answering System is packed full of features. It has blue tooth technology which means that I didn’t have to manually add in every single one of my cell phone contacts! After pairing with my cell phone, it took less than five minutes to add in about 300 contacts.

This phone system has enough annoyances that I’m wanting to get rid of it after a year. First the good: Sound is decent. The bad: * It’s supposed to be “full-duplex”. It’s not. When I talk, the speaker is muted so I can’t hear the other party * The talking caller ID feature, one of the main reasons why I bought this, is terrible.

It’s not very clear, and it can’t pronounce anything properly (at least in English). I get better, clearer pronunciation in my 11 year old car system. * If someone calls and just hangs up, it records it as a message.

So I have to plow through dozens of empty messages all the time. * When trying to delete these empty messages, if I don’t time pressing the message delete button just right, the message doesn’t get deleted.

* The menu system is very complicated * If the key tone is enabled, it can’t keep up if you enter a phone number too quickly. It then will drop digits you think you entered. * When entering a number, the handset tries to insert dashes to make the number readable (area code-exchange-number).

It’s only readable AFTER the entire number is entered. While entering a number it’s hard to figure out what you’re looking at because the hyphens are in meaningless places. * Redialing a previous number is needlessly complex.

Redialing the previously called number should be one key press. I’m not using the cell phone/bluetooth feature so I can’t speak to that.

My mom is at a point in her life (94+ years old) where anything new is rejected because it confuses her. She still lives alone on her own. I ordered this phone and after a friend plugged it in and gave her a 1 minute tutorial, she was using it like a champ.

She can hear better with the boost feature and it has a small footprint, so it fits nicely on the table next to the chair she watches TV from. She will never attempt to learn all the features that the phone offers, but she can talk and hear and that is what is most important.

I live 700 miles from her and cannot offer hands-on help. I pray that she will alwys remember the boost button.

Works great, and there is a light on it that shows when there’s an incoming call. Sound quality is good. Now she can hear what the telemarketers and survey droids have to say! From my end of things, the price was very reasonable.

If you look around, you will find amplified telephones that cost a lot more (like 10X the price). Since I haven’t investigated these pricey alternatives, I can’t say whether or not they’re worth buying, but if you are the kind of shopper who is not easily taken in by “convenience”, “features”, digital bells and whistles and schmoozy sales talk, this phone may be right for you.

Had great hopes! Wear 2 hearing aids and found neither the volume control or the Booster button worked- not at all! Could not hear anything. Our my 25 year old phone back an could hear again. I was extremely disappointed so took it back to Walmart.

My experience with Walmart is positive- the product was terrible!!!.

I BOUGHT THESE PHONES FOR SEVERAL REASONS. I LIKE THE FACT THAT THEY USE 2 AAA RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES, THAT I CAN BUY AT ANY STORE. I DON’T HAVE TO SEARCH FOR BATTERY PACKS ANYMORE. WITH MY OLD AT&T PHONE, ONLY 1 HANDSET COULD BE USED AT A TIME.

TO USE ANOTHER HANDSET, YOU HAD TO TRANSFER THE CALL TO ANOTHER HANDSET. THESE UNITS HAVE CONFERENCE CALLS & ALL 3 HANDSETS CAN BE USED AT THE SAME TIME. THE DISPLAY LIGHTS UP VERY BRIGHT WITH A WHITE BACKGROUND.

OUR OLD ONE HAD A DIM GREEN DISPLAY. THE NUMBER KEYS ARE ALOT LARGER THAN THE AT&T, & ARE EASIER ON THE OLDER EYES. THESE UNITS ALSO HAVE A INTERCOM, THAT SAVES ME ALOT OF STEPS WHEN I WANT TO TALK TO THE WIFE IN ANOTHER PART OF OUR HOME.

ANOTHER PLUS IS THAT THEY HAVE A BATTERY BACKUP, & STILL WORK DURING A POWER OUTAGE. SINCE MY WIFE HAS COPD, & IS ON AN OXYGENATOR, SHE WILL BE ABLE TO REACH MY CELL IF THE POWER GOES OUT WHILE I AM OUT SHOPPING.

I BOUGHT OUR AT&T PHONES IN 2006 FOR $76. , SO FOR $80. THESE WERE A BARGAIN.

I have been using the Panasonic Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System for about 2 years now and haven’t had a negative experience. Each phone receiver has crystal clear reception on the receiver and sound doesn’t distort when I switch to speaker mode.

I find the caller ID to be very easy to read in all lighting situations and navigating through the menu is a simple task. I like that I can access all of my message from any handset, but it’s much easier to do so from the main unit by simply pushing a single button on the dock.

I have on several occasions misplaced a handset and had to send an alert to it from another receiver to locate it. I also like being able to use the intercom system to communicate with someone in another area of the house.

What I like most about this phone is that it has been left off the charging dock for several days and showed no signs of dying. I would definitely recommend the Panasonic Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System because it doesn’t require any upkeep, direct setup, and its compact.

Overall the phone does what I need. Set up was easy and I like the expanded phone book and call blocking which my previous Panasonic system didn’t have. (The old one died after 8 years). I have not used the answering machine as I have that through my phone company.

I have only found 2 things which that I’m not impressed with. First the sound quality and volume of the handsets are not as good as my old system; they are adequate but my old system was better. Second, my old system blinked when I had a message on my answering service with the phone company and this one does not.

It does show I have a message on the handset screen but the blinking on my previous model as more convenient. Considering the price I feel it is a good product.

The CapTel 840i Real-Time Closed Captioned Telephone is all that it is advertised to be. We had a bit of difficulty installing it, as we have wireless service and we didn’t realize that the phone line needed to be hooked into the router and the modem.

After talking with a second technician, this problem was eliminated and the dial tone was returned to this phone and the other phones in our house. The captioning on the screen is a help as if there is difficulty understanding a word in a conversation, it pops up on the screen and can be viewed and understood.

All in all, we are very pleased with CapTel customer service and the product we purchased.

I have had my CapTel for about two years and I absolutely love it. The printed caption is not live. By that I mean it does not appear at the same time as the spoken word, but is delayed a bit. That may be my ISP’s fault as closed caption on my TV and NetFlix is also delayed.

There are so many great features, not room to list. Their service is terrific too. There is actually a built in speed dial button for customer service. I paid $100 for mine.

It has large numbers for dialing. The close caption screen is easy to view and adjust.

It works beautifully! I now feel like I still have my landline with 2 portable phones and I do not have to wonder where I put my cell phone down. Very easy to set up – downloaded my contacts and prefer to call and answer calls from my Vtech phones.

I do not have phone jacks of course since canceling my phone service. I feel Vtech info is geared to those who still have landline service. There is no dial tone and says “No line” in display and no info listed about this that I could find.

Nevertheless it works perfectly and I am very happy to recommend it and give it 5 stars!.

I purchased this phone because our old one broke. I read the reviews and decided to order this one. We really like it. It is new, so we do need to check the instructions yet, but for the most part it is user friendly.

Did not use the blue tooth feature yet. Ringer is loud. Price was reasonable too. I would recommend to others.

Would not buy it again. Yes, it pairs with a bluetooth headset (in this case, a Plantronics Voyager Legend) – and. for incoming phone calls, you can answer using the bluetooth headset. BUT>>> IF YOU WANT TO DIAL OUT AND USE YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET – NOT HAPPENING.

So as I would consider their claim to pair with bluetooth headsets to be technically correct, I believe it to be misleading, as nothing is said about this deficiency in this phone’s capabilities. BTW, was on the phone numerous times with V-Tech support about this – their response.

so sorry, outgoing phone calls with bluetooth headset is not a working function with this phone. My response. so sorry, will never buy VTech products again.

Sound quality seems to be pretty good. People I have talked to said it’s good. Quality is pretty good on my end, but could be better. The phones are light weight, but stand up and comfortable in you hand.

Programming is a little challenge, but once you get figured out ok. I have to go back to the manual each time I do something x but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It is not selfexplainitory. Has backlighting on the numbers, but not on the screen, therefore I have to turn on a light to read the smaller numbers and letters.

The inexpensive price and extensions make it worth it to me. Like the find handset feature.

Good basic cordless phone with one significant flaw – the display font size and lack of backlighting makes the Caller ID very hard to read. IF the user’s eyesight is less than perfect – don’t choose this cordless phone.

That said, it has good battery life and average range when using the phone away from the base. I’ve previously been very satisfied with VTech phones but this set is a big disappointment.

I do not have a hearing problem, but due to working in restaurant environment, sometimes it is hard to hear from customers over the phone. When on internet and found exactly what I am looking for at your website.

I am very pleased with the phone, crisp and clear sound, can also adjust the volume as people speak, and big buttons. Would recommend.

This product arrived within two days of ordering. I am very pleased with it, easy to set up and very easy to hear conversations now with the boost control. Would definitely recommend.

Bought as an additional headset for a full unit I already own. I am told that the sound quality is good on telecoil hearing aids but I don’t use one myself. It can sometimes be a bit hissy on normal headphones.

The additional option of a microphone included in the headset allows the user to hear normal conversation without resetting their hearing aid but it does pick up a lot of background sounds that way so is not ideal in noisy situations.

vThese are intended for domestic use only and the base unit / charger (not included with the additional headset) has a maximum line of sight range of about 7 metres. It is important for the receiver to be able to “see” the transmitter – even arms folded over it or a newspaper will stop reception.

On many tvs plugging the connecting cable into the headphone output will mean a loss of audio output for other users unless a soundbar is connected via a toslink or other output. They can also be used with other audio equipment such as hifi, or tablet, but a line level input is required so it will not work with just a microphone as the sound source.

These headsets will also work with any other infra red assistive hearing systems (often found in theatres and museums for tour guides) as most work on 28mhz frequency but with ordinary earphones thesound may only be mono as some commercial systems do not have duplex (stereo) transmitters.

The amplicoms tv210 base transmits in stereo using 2 slightly different light wavelengths. Overall good value solution but I haven’t had it long enough to comment on overall battery life.

Bought this for my 82 year old mum. She really struggled using the phone and had lost a lot of confidence but now she can hear others and is happy using her phone. It’s also easy to use. Only regret is didn’t do this sooner!.

Me & my sister bought this phone for our 85 year old dad who is very hard of hearing. Straight forward to order and it came very quickly. It was very easy to set up and from what I have seen of the phone it seems easy to use.

My dad can now hear us perfectly when we call him which is great. It also has a button he can press when he is on a call which amplifies the callers voice even more. Great purchase.

I would have given this phone 5 stars for it’s clarity and general ease of use. However, I am docking 2 stars for the fact that its ability to block nuisance calls is ineffective. Perhaps naively, I had expected the phone to maintain a white list of acceptable callers and to greet callers not already on the white list with a request to identify themselves before ringing.

Unfortunately that is not the case. It merely provides the facility to construct a black list made up of those who withold their number, all numbers with a specific prefix or particular numbers. With the degree of caller ID spoofing that currently occurs this form of protection is IMHO worse than useless.

I have docked a further star for the message count displayed on the base station. This is the total number stored in the station’s memory. Surely the relevant statistic is the number of NEW MESSAGES? It does seem that Panasonic have lost their way as far as this device is concerned.

Very disappointing and I need to consider returning the item.

First impressions on opening the box are that these phones are solid and seem very well made. They feel comfortable in the hand with an easy to reach volume button on the side of the handset. The buttons are big, so they are easy to find which helps with my failing eyesight and results in no mistakes like pressing the wrong buttons and dialling wrong numbers.

They have a large screen with large font which is very easy to read allowing you to see the caller’s number and it is also useful whilst navigating the settings menu or phonebook. There are 40 ringtones to choose from and the incoming ringtone volume is loud enough for me to hear anywhere in the house or out in the garden.

The phone also lights up well when someone is calling or whilst in use. Call Quality between caller and myself has been excellent. The phonebook is more than adequate with 150 entries which is automatically shared between the handsets and easy to use The answer machine has plenty of recording time which can be switched off should you wish.

The phone also has all the usual now familiar features such as Nuisance call blocking, Baby monitor and Speakerphone. On top of the usual features this phone also has Talking caller I. D which reads the caller’s number out or if the caller’s details are stored in the phonebook their name is read out instead of the number.

This can be turned off in settings easily if the buyer prefers not to use this feature although I do find it very useful. So far I am very impressed with these phones, I found the phones easy to setup and would definitely recommend them especially for elderly buyers or if buying for elderly relatives.

Having reviewed these phone’s, I must mention in this review that I was given the product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme.

These replaced an earlier trio. Yes, the numbers are clearer, but the sound is poor. With perfect hearing, I have to have the volume at maximum on loudspeaker and there is an echo on one phone. The phones feel cheap and plasticky compared with the previous set, which had become unreliable.

Clearly, there has been no improvement in the technology and these phones are worse than similar models 15 years ago. A better quality at a higher cost would be preferable. We are considering returning these as unfit for purpose, if we can face reprogramming again.

TranslateShow in original languageHabe das Gigaset E720HX, mit meiner 18 jährigen Basisstation Gigaset C250 gekoppelt. Absolut problemlos und innert sekunden erledigt. Somit wird es vorderhand an einem analogen Gerät verwendet.

Trotzdem habe ich künftig die Möglichkeit, das Mobilteil direkt an meinem Router an zu melden. Was das Gerät doch auch Zukunftssicher macht. Über Bluetooth wurde nun das Mobilteil auch mit einem Yeahlink Headset WH66 Duo gekoppelt.

Auch diese Koppelung ist sehr schnell und einfach erfolgt. Fernsteuerung ab der Station des Yeahlink WH66 funktioniert perfekt. Die gesamte Telefonliste konnte problemlos von einem der alten Mobilteile auf das neue gesendet werden.

Das Einrichten von Zeit und Datum, etc. hat sich von selbst erledigt, da er die Daten ab der Basisstation abgerufen hat. Bin also sehr zufrieden.

Das Bluetooth-Ausgabesignal scheint aber viel zu leise zu sein. Selbst wenn man die Kopfhörer-Lautstärke in den Gigaset-Optionen als auch die Lautstärke am Headset selbst voll aufdreht, ist es immer noch viel zu leise.

Dieselben Headsets funktionieren aber mit Handies tadellos. Die Kundendienstantwort dazu war von absolut keinem Nutzen. Auch scheint es nicht möglich, während eines Gesprächs mit dem Hörer auf ein Headset umzuschalten (zu 95% sicher).

Einzig die Entfernung Hörgerät zu Telefon ist etwas gering (man braucht Sichtkontakt). Gute Einstellmöglichkeit für alle Lautstärken. Einfache Bedienung mit grossen Tasten.
