So far it seems to be picking up signals as good or better than the stock whip. It is getting very good AM radio reception. Love the shorter height and not running into the long whip antenna.

Easy install and looks a lot better than the long antenna.

Seems to work very well around my local area. Haven’t had it on the open road.

2020 roadglide with an air wing spoiler. This antenna fits under the air wing spoiler with enough length to still have great reception. Easy install. Unscrew old whip antenna and screw in the new one.

Just make sure to remove saddlebag and make sure the screws holding the antenna bracket are tight. Awesome antenna.

What a cool buy for my Spyder! Easy to install and looks awesome. If you would like a shorter antenna profile this is your replacement.

Works as advertised, reception is the same or better than a stock antenna. Much easier to get a cover on and off, and less worries about running/bumping into it while in the garage. Definitely less wind noise while cruising.

I’ve been running Francis antennas for years. There is NO comparison to wire wound junk called trucker’s antennas. You don’t have to tune these sticks like the others. They don’t De-tune themselves like the trucker antennas.

Plus they look a lot nicer on your vehicle with less wind resistance. My only complaint is that Francis don’t make the 7 foot antennas any more. I always tell people to buy these sticks and have never heard any complaints yet.

This is the 2nd one I purchased, Gives me a good SWR 1. 3 on upper channels 28-40 and fair on the lower 1. 8. It’s mounted on the side of a alum truck bed tool box with a custom built alum mount and braded ground strap on a F250 close to the cab.

Maybe that’s the reason for the higher SWR’s on the lower. The first one lasted about 6 years but the fiberglass was starting to break down but work fine, just if you touched it you would get pieces in your hand.

I may return it to FRANCIS for R&D to review the quality control.

There long and have a high reach and get out awsome and receive awsome. And the cost was a great deal. There great antennas. I noticed a great differance in my recieve and my getting out. And I’m getting out farther than before.

I was getting 8 channels with a passive digital antenna inside my rig. Without moving my rig, I installed this King SureLock Digital TV antenna I was shocked. I’m getting 48 channels now. It’s almost perfect except one thing.

The only thing I’m disappointed about is the store charged me $169 and I could have bought it for $136 here online.

This is a great antenna. I replaced a Continu. us antenna that came on my brand new Coachmen. I love the Coachmen but not sure why they went with such a bad antenna. I got some of the channels in the area with 1 bar and basically tv dropped so often it was not watchable.

After I installed the King Jack and turned it on I was surprised to say the least. I thought maybe 2 or 3 bars on my TV of signal strength, was hoping for yellow. I had full bars, from red right to green when I had the amplifier on.

From poor to excellent. I had 2 bars with the amp off which is double of what I had with the old antenna with the amplifier on. The trailer I had before I had a Winegard sensor. It was in between this antenna and the Continu.

us one in signal strength usually in the yellow. I am happy I bought the King Jack. I almost bought the Winegard as I was familiar with it but the new trailer had all black colored equipment on the roof.

The Winegard only comes as a complete kit all in white. I would have had to buy the complete kit and then buy a replacement black head. No thanks. I made the right choice with the King Jack and could not be happier.

Note, I have a permanent site and upgraded RVs and antennas but all tested from the same location. King Jack is by far the best, by far.

I didn’t even know that it was still manufactured. I like the grounding wire and the lower mounting bracket that it has (Just like OEM). This gives better contact for the ground and mounting strength.

This thing was made for my truck. It fit amazingly, took no time at all. It was too easy. Radio now picks up every station.

I bought this antenna for my 1995 4Runner that I removed the power antenna unit on. The power antenna got pretty bent up from trail use and would no longer go up or down. This is a perfect OEM equivalent in fit and function.

Looks stock, very sturdy and works great! Id highly recommend this for anyone with a Toyota truck (89-95) or 4Runner (90-95). Not sure of the other years.

Thank you – Thank you – Thank you. ! I have had 4 RV’s and tried so far 6 antennas. this Winegard RVW395 Sensar will be my last. Way better then a King Jack directional I had. Went from 3 basic local stations with a total of 11 stations that were hard to watch because of the constant freeze frame game to 9 stations for a total of 39 channels.

3 stations from another state. ! In the summer where I stay is in a valley with the worse reception ever. I more than tripled my channels now. If I adjust it a bit I can gain more but start to lose others.

but if i wanted to adjust it each time and tweek it I could get other channels as well. so soooo pleased. ordered off walmart app. delivery free in 4 days and install was simple. Those debating king jack or this – trust me.

I am very happy with this antenna. Right here in my yard where I typically have poor reception I got 38 channels. We just returned from a campground in New Smyrna Beach Fl where I received 65 channels all crystal clear.

I ended up only changing the antenna and signal booster because there was nothing wrong with my old mast. I’ll just keep the new one as a spare. Very happy with my purchase so far but the real test comes in Sept.

when we head out to New Mexico.

I have the replacement head. I lived this antenna. Great coverage now.

Reception is good, if you run a luggage rack it will be pretty much touching but it has real good flexibility in the lower rubber part. I got my tail bag on no problems. And it looks way better than stock “whip”.

The long OEM antenna that everyone always seems to run into and get poked in the face is gone with this short good looking one. I have found no lose of picking up stations at all. Glad I bought it.

As with all HD factory and aftermarket products, stuff is expensive. So at $65 US for a pair, not so bad. Very high quality turning and coating. For the detail oriented like I am, even the label lined up same on both onve tightened.

Sweet. Getting rid of the factory danger whips was the best benefit. Second is I have found the reception, at least locally in Reno Nevada, as good as prior. I am still running the factory radio from 2002, so pretty good indeed.

And the cool factor puts them over the top for value. Buy them, remove and toss the factory whips (unless, I suspect, you are a CB guy), install the Stubbies and roll on. Enjoy.

Local stations don’t come in as clear as I would expected. Could be the quality of the stations, or the antenna? As far as looks go, it definitely eliminates the long antenna height and adds a sleek look.

Item did not help with receiving radio signals. We purchased a new car radio so we can use CarPlay. That is not the problem that works great but when you play the radio, you don’t receive radio stations.

Car antenna is working correctly. I was told that this item would work but it didn’t.

When I received this device, I decided to make some comparisons to the standard outside stick antenna in my 1955 Chevrolet before I installed it. On the FM band, The Metra 44-UA20 Antenna seemed to received a few more stations then my fully extended outside Antenna.

And as I suspected, it preformed pretty badly on the AM band, because of it’s tiny internal antenna. I would estimate, the Metra 44-UA20 Antenna received only about 25% of what my standard outside stick antenna received on the AM band.

I had the Metra 44-UA20 Antenna stuck to the center of the front windshield glass for the best reception. So, if you cannot or do not want an outside stick antenna, this antenna will work well on the FM band.

It works almost as well stuck to the top edge of a window, but not by the bottom edge. I hope this helps you make an educated decision about whether or not to purchase this antenna.

I bought this antenna to use on my 65 Chevy II. I have customized the car and wanted a hidden option for an antenna. Even though the directions and purpose of this on is to attach to the windshield. I placed it under dash for a totally hidden look.

It has worked great so far. My head unit is a Kenwood KMM BT515-HD and the reception has been excellent. Of course I live in a large metropolitan city and I think you could pull in radio signals in your dental fillings.

This is my first base antenna so I can’t compare it to others. I am taking the Technicians test in 4 days so I can’t test transmission yet. With a Boefang UV5R I am listening to repeaters that are at least 30 miles away with very clear no noise reception.

Connecting the radio to a battery powered computer speaker works better. The antenna is very well made and was at a bargain price compared to the other 2 brands at higher prices. I wrapped the 2 piece joint with plumbers rescue tape.

My feed line is 30 feet of heavy duty RG8 with PL259 connectors. I don’t have an SWR meter yet. The base of the antenna is 8ft off the ground and elevation here is 2,300 ft. I will give an update if I can when I get a license for transmission quality.

So far I highly recommend this antenna.

Installed the Tram antenna this afternoon up on chimney as high as possible @35 ft. I live in a valley also surrounded by tall trees – even the hurricane winds pass over me. Instantly picked up 5 repeater stations on 2 meters; I had none before with a vertical.

All antenna parts were received and seemed to be very good quality with no defects. I was expecting to find and had to pull the center conductor connector out of the top section by two inches in order to mate the two sections.

I also applied silicone sealant to the outside joining connector as is was a little loose. Assembly was easy (5 minutes), and easy mounting by one person. You can’t buy the materials alone for less than the cost of this antenna – great price @$51.

I highly recommend this antenna to anyone needing a good vertical for 2 meters – along with good coax feed LMR400.

I had one of these up on the tower for 15 years and it has held up and worked great all these years. A couple weeks ago a tree fell on the base of the tower and knocked it down so I bought this new Tram antenna that day.

I have it installed now and it works better (being new I guess) than the old one. That is I easily reach repeaters up to 75 miles away on 50 watts, and have consistent reliable QSO’s with closer repeaters / stations on much less power.

This is a very high quality American made TV antenna. The metal on this antenna is very thick for an antenna, so I expect this antenna to last a lifetime. Almost all the antennas for sale today will only pick up channels 7 through 13 if they even pick up VHF at all and then only if they are receiving a very strong signal.

This antenna will pick up every available channel. I am receiving all 42 channels including our low band VHF channel 6 and the signal is strong and consistent on every channel. Most full size UHF/VHF antennas are 14 ft 6 inches or longer.

I was surprised that this Solid Signal antenna is only 12 ft 6 inches and is well balanced. It doesn’t look nearly as big as my last full size antenna. If you want all your available TV channels and a strong, consistent signal forget the ‘toy’ made in China antennas and get a real antenna made in America with high quality materials.

I had bought this antenna to replace a similar one that the low vhf elements were damaged during an ice storm. I live in southern RI and enjoy both Providence and Boston area stations. Providence PBS 36 and Boston PBS 2 are in the low vhf bands.

This antenna has that frequency coverage. There is perfect reception even with no amplifier. I did install one afterwards for added stability for a 100′ RG6 cable run. Over 40 stations between the two locations there has not been any signal pixel breakup at all.

Works great with my Tablo 4 tuner DVR. If your looking for the best you can get this is the one.

I purchased this antenna because it was the biggest one I could find, thinking that it would give me the best signal reception. But it doesn’t perform as well as my 30 dollar antenna. Now to return and I have to go up retrieve it take it all apart try to find a box big enough to put it in because the box that it came in and was all torn up.

Very disappointed with the antenna especially for how much I paid for it.

Through the years I have tried different fm antennas that would improve reception on stations with weak signals, Terk Antennas that plug into the electrical outlet. Very little improvement. Saw this product recently saw the reviews from various sites and decided to try.

When I received this, it looked flimsy, wondered how could this product improve reception, what a great surprise! This works great! FM reception is great, easy to use, doesn’t look decorative, won’t have visual appeal in decorative room but does what it is suppose to, extremely happy with this! Note; I don’t usually write reviews, if I do they are short and to the point, but someone did write one previous for me to read, I would not have this important part of my Hi Fi system, so it my turn to pay it forward.

I had an outdoor antenna in the attic of the house I used to live in, so had good reception. Now I live on the bottom floor of an apartment so was skeptical trying this one. At first the reception was not very good.

I kept adjusting the direction and the unit and it now works good most of the time. I am glad I bought it. My antenna hides behind the TV. The bottom line is to work with it until reception is satisfactory.

This is not my first SR100. When I first got into audio back in the late ’80s, I was having trouble pulling in radio stations on my new NAD tuner. A friend of mine who introduced me to high-end audio recommended this bizarre looking antenna, which at the time I believe was around $25.

00. I bought it, hooked it up, and was beyond amazed at its ability to pull in the most distant stations. At that point, I was sold. In my new home, the stucco on the outside provides the perfect rf blanket.

In Central Florida, where the FM band is saturated, I could only pull in 1 station. I reached out to Audio Advisor and bought another SR100. Now I am able to pull in every station except 3. This is a tunable, bi-directional antenna.

So you might have to extend or reduce the center leg and turn the antenna in a certain direction to get the stations you want, but for such a low price, I don’t believe there is a better antenna for indoor use.

Need a nice affordable AM/FM antenna for new Fusion radio in my 98 Sea Ray 270 which in do massive upgrades to, looking forward to getting it installed. Make sure you purchase a mount for it as well so you can fold it down when you need to.

My old antenna gave up in a crumbled mess, it lasted 20 years so I figured there was no reason to change brands.

I can’t give 5 stars because it just doesn’t have the signal quality of a fixed antenna. That being said, I have installed one of these in my golf cart and 2 on my motorcycles. I would say I have an excellent signal about 80 percent of the time.

The exception would be in high traffic areas or inside buildings such as my metal shop. This is to be expected. The key to the install is to keep the wire coiled up. I’ve tried grounding the lead but coiling seems to get the best results.

Bottom line is that it’s a great antenna for around $5. I’d recommend it for anyone looking to shave their antenna and save a few bucks!.

I bought this for a replacement antenna in my car, I do not regularly listen to the radio. It was easy to hide under my dash and picked up all my local stations. If you have poor reception in your car or boat you should be buying an amplified antenna.

It’s not as powerful as we’d hoped. Especially compared to our over 25 yr old radio shack antenna of same design but shorter. It seems to real picky as to where u aim it to get in signals. The radio shack antenna picked up signal in a more broad range.

It seems to be more sensitive to atmospheric changes as well. Rain will cause signal loss on some channels. Again not a problem on the old antenna. Some channels are coming in a bit better but the other issues are just about a deal breaker.

Not worth the extra money we paid for slightly better reception.

This replaced a 54 element antenna with definitely improved reception. Distant (50+ miles) stations come in with rarer drop-outs. The material quality is much better than imports. Thicker, sturdier metal and plastic parts.

Still, be careful when assembling. Open by putting pressure nearer to the fulcrum, not at the ends where everything can bend more easily. A real plus that it’s made in America.

Design of downlead box requires a staking of the contacts to 4 aluminum rods. Box is not sealed, only held with 4 plastic tabs, is thin warped plastic and leaks to elements and insects. My antenna lasted less than a year before surface mounted components and board corroded.

Contact with Winegard told me it is only covered for 90 days. That tells a lot that a manufacturer will only warranty a passive item for such a short time. New box is another $25, Winegard says you are on your own.

Very common problem with this antenna. Now in the recycling pile.

I like the chrome antenna, but since it is not flexible you should buy a hardened connector (to connect to trucks base) as the included connector broke when going through car wash. Luckily they were able to find antenna in tunnel car wash.

Now that I bought a hardened connecting threaded (dbl end) it is great. Although if you’re smarter than me you will remove antenna before running through car wash.

Great product, no loss of signal! Although do not go through a car wash that uses the brush machines. Snapped the antenna right off of my truck. The antenna is made not to bend so as soon as the rod the brushes hit it off it went.

The antenna itself did not break, the screw it post snapped off inside the antenna, luckily not inside my truck so I can replace it.

Searched for ever for this antenna. They beat the online prices and the quality is awesome! Can’t be beat!

Even though the Metra antenna I reviewed 2 years ago here quit raising and lowering before the 1 year warranty was up, I couldn’t get it returned in time to claim a free warranty replacement. The car was away with another family member until last month.

I just now bought another Metra because I didn’t want to take a chance that another brand would require running another different antenna lead through the dash of this auto and also a totally different mounting inside front fender.

Some of the hardware WAS different this time. Here’s hoping I am luckier this time with durability. It is working fine at the start.

This is a updated unit, the operating relay is now inside. The antenna is still to short for my application, but there is a YT video to help lengthen the mast section. Metra, PLEASE offer a longer mast section option !.

I purchased this product and installed it in my car, with no issues. It was easy to install, and all the parts/pieces I needed were included. The antenna failed after about 12 months, by the metal mast part breaking in half for no reason.

So I figured it may be a fluke, and ordered another one. The second one did the same exact thing after 14 months. I also find that they don’t lubricate and perform well even when they aren’t broken. OEM antennas on several of my other cars have lasted 10+ years with no issues.

I do not recommend this product. Spend a little more and get a better antenna.

Well, I bought one of these for myself, and mounted it. First I had it on an extendable mast about 20 feet up, close to the building, then when I didn’t have too good of results, I moved the 8008 away from the building, but still got the same results.

I decided to try a second one at my best friend’s home across town, and mounted it to his satellite antenna bracket, as he wasn’t using satellite TV anymore, and took the satellite dish antenna down to make room for the 8008.

The bracket or mount was on the West side of his building, and the pipe that I used attached to the satellite dish mount, had the antenna almost even with the peak of his metal roof. The one TV station was to the SW, and since both my location, and his location, had the antennas more or less on the West side of the building, mine was on the NW side, since one station was all we both could get, I decided to raise his up to about 20 feet or so on a TV antenna tower he had, mounting the 8008 on the South leg of his tower, but still got the same results.

We have the main Channels of 7, 9, 20 and 33 (was 55 but had changed to 33), about 45 to 55 Miles SE of here, and neither one of us have a good signal from any of those stations. If lucky, we get, “one bar” for signal strength, sometimes those stations come in, but barely, and sometimes they don’t, and only Channel 13 to the SW comes in with 3 to 4 bars, on my TV which 4 bars is full strength, and either 4 or 5 bars, which 5 bars is full strength on his TV.

So, my personal opinion is, that the 8008 is OK, if you’re no more than 25 Miles or so from TV stations, but for stations that are 45 to 50 Miles, or more, forget using this antenna. I’m sort of disappointed with the, “limited range of 25 Miles or so” performance, and, unless you’re in or near a larger city that has a lot of TV stations, covering all of the networks, I feel that you may be disappointed with this antenna, as I only get one main station, Channel 13, unless you count all of the signals coming from the same station, 13-1 (or 13.

1), 13-2 (or 13. 2), 13-3 (or 13. 3), 13-4 (or 13. 4), plus there’s another signal, but instead of showing 13-5, it shows 14-1, even though it’s the same station. So I basically get only one station with the 8008, Channel 13, when everyone else in town also gets 7, 9, 20, and 33 also.

So, I’m sort of disappointed with the results I get, both here, and at my best friend’s home across town.

I set it up for a friend on a fixed income who was being overcharged for a cable service that uses a dish to get the signal and sends out more advertisements to the client than genuine programs. I persuaded her to switch to an OTA (over-the-air) antenna, which I have used for nearly 25 years without paying a monthly cable subscription.

Sure, she’ll still get advertising, but she won’t have to spend a fortune for them. She now has access to more than 70 local channels, compared to only three with her old supplier. To say the least, a satisfied customer.

Her freshly obtained antenna channels are easily over 100 miles away in some cases. The house is located in a rural part of North Carolina.

I just got the antenna yesterday, and putting it together took around 30 minutes. I wanted to make sure everything was working, so I attached the mounting bracket to a 1″x4″x2′ scrap piece of wood I had on hand.

I then positioned it in the center of the room, pointing it in the direction of the stations. My house is now made of concrete blocks, with 24 solar panels installed on the roof above the TV room. I bought an Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna with a Long Range of 65-80 Miles a few years ago and was able to obtain adequate coverage on 12 stations.

However, I would get weak signals on a couple of the channels at least once a week.

Moved to an HOA community and didn’t want to hang my old Winegard 6′ Yagi in their faces. This low key appearing antenna more than met my technical needs, so I sprang for it, tho it cost almost twice as much as my old metal rig.

Very happy to have it perfoming great with medium to medium weak 1 edge signals per TV Fool. With it only 3′ high, I recieve HVHF and UHF signals separated by 35 degrees, with Tablo box scanning a ‘good’ strength using only the supplied gear.

Amplifier is a must for my location. Impressed the two dipoles is all it needs. Seems well made. Customer service rep was great, too.

My home is in an area of Florida with a lot of woods and interference from nearby airports, and I have tried other brands of antennas before with little success. My friend recommended the AT-800SBS to me, and we placed it in an area that is almost but not quite free of trees.

The top of the antenna was about 13 feet above the ground and to my surprise the channel scan resulted in 98 channels being received without loss and many channels that had never been received before.

I’m jumping up and down with excitement, this directional antenna is perfect for me! Very impressive.

The AT-800SBS accomplished what I was hoping for. I was a little concerned at first when I just used the antenna indoors near the TV. I only received about 12 channels and was missing a couple of key networks.

I then tried the antenna facing out the window on our east side and got 30 channels with all the major networks (shown to be about 55 mi on the signal map). I ended up mounting the antenna inside the garage (near the ceiling) facing east and got the same 30 channel reception along with a great spot to run cable.

A couple key points. it really needs to face a direction consistent with the signal map of the channels you want most (the mult-directional reception capability has its limits) and use decent shielded cable.

Also – watch for sales. I noticed Home Depot had the unit on sale for ~129 about a week after I ordered directly from Antop.

I had purchased what was recommended by CM for my area; but it just didn’t bring in the channels advertised, so I purchased the Advantage 60 and BAM! 117 channels. All the channels except ABC. I should have cut the cord years ago.

Now I only pay for phone & internet, cut my bill in half. I will recoup my money in 5 months.

The Advantage 60 works great for us. We are in a weak signal area. With this antenna we went from nine channels to 48. It was easy to install. The instructions could have been more clear on assembly.

Even so the assembly was easy. Happy with our purchase.
