20 Best Herbs For Sleep Aid (2023 Updated)

After a minor car accident one afternoon because of drowsiness caused by a melatonin rebound, I tried Herbal Sleep. I was surprised that it worked the first night. I was even more surprised that it worked all but one night for the first month–and that one was for unavoidable stress.

So, I put away melatonin (3mg, 5mg, fast dissolve & time-release), 5-HTP, and GABA. But, it’s foolish to expect one pill to work perfectly all the time. Like many supplements, the effect wore off after the first month.

And I reverted back to the other pills. But they stopped working again pretty quick. Then I made sure there was no late eating or computer, nothing stressful or mental before bedtime, the room was dark, quiet, and ventilated.

With everything else equal, I tried only Herbal again and it worked pretty well. But it works best for me if I take Herbal about 45-60 minutes before bed, and if I get up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep, I have at bedside a 3mg or 5mg fast dissolve melatonin lozenge to take.

If I know I’m going to have a rough night, I’ll add melatonin 5mg time-release just before bed.

I tried this product once before and seemed to have little benefit. I discussed it with the friend that had recommended it to me in the first place as she has had great results from it. So, I decided to try it again and I’m very glad I did.

It’s working perfectly this time — helps put me to sleep, provides somewhat longer sleep times between potty stops, and leaves no aftertaste or morning hangover. I’m sold on it for those reasons as well as the fact that it is entirely NATURAL.

This works well for me. It’s not a sleeping pill – it’s just a bit of melatonin herbs to help with relaxing. The fact that you can chew it or let it dissolve, with no water required, is helpful. The flavor is not strong, but is pleasant – easy to take any time of night or as prep for bed.

I buy the Gaia valerian root sound sleep from Whole Foods. They are pricey, I think about $35 per 60 capsule bottle, which is a month’s supply. I keep buying them because they have made such a difference in my sleep.

They help me get to sleep and sleep through the night.

I had used Mega Foods Dream Release before this one, and I loved that as well. I think this is the reformulation of the prior. But not absolutely sure. But it feels the same! I like really organic supplements, and this is great! It’s not a sleeping pill, and it doesn’t have any drowsiness.

It’s just when u fall asleep it gives u a deeper sleep. The valerian root and the ashwagandha combined are a godsend! Love!.

Many times my sleep pattern is to sleep 4 hrs or so, wake up and stay awake for up to 3 hrs before falling back to sleep which is not always good if I have to be up at a certain hour, especially if it’s early morning.

I found that taking Herbal Sleep insures I will sleep through the night. Glad to finally find something that works without the “aid hangover” I’ve had with other products!.

I’ve had insomnia for decades. I had to finally resort to Ambien which I hate! So, I decided to try again with homeopathic items. After months of trial and error, and buying virtually every sleep aid product on the market, I narrowed down what works for me.

This product is included. I also have it in capsule form and that works the same. I prefer the liquid because of ease of taking it and I also don’t like drinking as much liquid before bed so I don’t want to take the capsules with water.

So, I ended up with this, I take maybe one and a half times what it recommends, 10 mgs. of Melatonin, Somnapure, and a. 25 caplet of Benedryl and I sleep now. When I try to cut back it doesn’t work but that’s OK.

So happy I tried Valerian Root from Gaia. I’ve heard of valerian for a long time but hesitated because I always heard it smelled horrible. Well this brand has no bad smell or taste and it’s helping me relax and sleep.

I’ve struggled with sleep for most of my life. I have coped with night terrors and with being pregnant now, I needed to get some relief. The first night I took the tincture I didn’t wake once. There were a few days I was up a little but I’ve been using it every night and it has helped me to asleep and stay asleep (until I have to use the bathroom- you all know how that is).

The taste of this tincture is not my favorite. It’s very potent but, it honestly does the trick. I would highly recommend this to any exhausted mother to be out there or anyone that struggles with sleep disorders.

I’ve been an insomniac since childhood. I’ve tried every known remedy for sleep – herbal, pharmaceutical, food such as milk and cheese as well as meditation. I try not to take Sleepy Nights every night because I don’t want to become desensitized to it, but after I’ve taken a couple of remedies including CBD oil, etc and still can’t sleep I always turn to Sleepy Nights.

And though it may take a couple of doses, I always fall asleep. It’s the best thing in my arsenal. I wake up feeling great.

IšverstiShow in original languageFull disclaimer, I don’t normally struggle with falling asleep or staying asleep. I was however feeling like I wasn’t getting quality sleep when I woke up every morning.

I take the sleep juice every few nights. I subtly feel drowsiness an hour later and easily drift to sleep. I do see what other reviews mention about the smell but I don’t really struggle with it. I add it to a little hot water and I don’t breathe while I quickly drink it.

It doesn’t taste bad at all. Sometimes I take the peace juice instead depending on how stressful my day was. I have the sleep juice, peace juice, mood juice, liver juice and probiotic and love them all.

IšverstiShow in original languageOkay, let me start off first by saying I did not like this product at first. I bought this months ago and tried it a couple of times but I was experiencing insomnia. So, I put it back in my cabinet and never looked at it again.

Fast forward to now about 6 months later I wasn’t sleeping and I didn’t want to take melatonin so I remembered I had this in my kitchen cabinet. So I tried it again, and let me tell you I have been having wonderful sleep for about a month now.

This product will stay in my collection because when my anxiety is really bad then take some peace juice then 2 droppers of this with some water and off to dream land I go. Thank you Olivia for making such wonderful products! Also I joined the book club!.

IšverstiShow in original languageSeems to be working well in conjuncture with my other habits to promote restful sleep. Blue blockers, getting sunlight on eyes in the morning, afternoon and evening, getting to bed before that second wind hits and decreasing stress in the evenings.

I’ve struggled with some vicious insomnia the last 6 months where I can’t fall asleep until 2-3AM and this is a nice tool to have along with everything else I’m doing. My sleep has progressively gotten better since I’ve started using it and I’m finally falling sleep before midnight pretty consistently with little effort.

I’ll most likely buy another bottle once this is gone! Love every OO product I’ve tried!.
