20 Best Hemp Oil For Dogs (2023 Updated)

This summer has been hard on my furry crew. The chiggers and seed ticks are out full force and environmental allergies they’ve been known to have in other years but were never seriously problematic have had me looking for relief high and low.

I’ve been giving this to my two most sensitive. Both on LD diets. My big guy is 140 pounds which requires 6 chewables and my other one weighs in at 50. She should get 4. I’ve seen improvement in both of them in the week they’ve been taking it.

A lot less scratching. The redness has gone away. They seem calmer. I just drop the pills into their food bowl. The big guy is quite picky and has no issue gobbling these up. Sadly this isn’t feasible for us.

120 total pills equal just 12 days of relief in my situation. I highly recommend for others though. For small dogs this would go a long way.

Our little pug (one year old) has developed idiopathic epilepsy that manifests itself in an atypical fashion. Even on phenobarbital, zonisamide, melatonin, and trazadone, he was still having 8-10 seizures a day, each seizures only lasting 2-5 seconds.

There has even been discussion of a possible sleep disorder, but that testing has not yet been done. He is now on phenobarbital and potassium bromide and while the number of daily seizures has dropped significantly (2-5), he has also started some compulsive behaviors including manic barking and “circling.

” We purchased the CBD 250 oil in hopes that it would help to at least control the compulsive behavior, if not the seizures. We noticed a change almost immediately. He still barks and still circles, but while on he CBD oil, he can respond to our commands and he will stop.

We haven’t noticed any change in the number of seizures, but it seems our little one is resistant to almost all meds. He takes the maximum amounts of everything and it doesn’t seem to affect him much.

I have a chihuahua who is about 16 years old. She has a lump on her chest (non cancerous but painful) getting old and her legs hurt, and in recent months. having extreme seizures. the worst was up to 5 times a day.

The chihuahua got constipated, but I reached out to Innovetpet about my concerns and they always reply within an hour or two addressing my concerns. We found something to help the constipation. So all is well and I just wanted to say if your animal is having seizures and your vet is telling you that it’s time to let them go (obviously if they’re really old) I urge you to try this product.

Also for pain, anxiety, appetite etc. :).

My husband and I have a lab/border collie (Bernie) and a yorkie/toy fox terrier (Grace), both 8 years old, and we had been adding this supplement to Gracie’s food for years now. Bernie was having fish oil pills given in his food but they were too big for Gracie so we had to research fish oil in liquid form, talked to our dog parent friends, and decided that Zesty Paws was the best option overall.

We had been giving it as a topper to her kibble, but then we switched them both to human grade food and thought that we didn’t need the fish oil supplements anymore because the selected joint recipe, which had extra fish oil in it.

Not entirely relevant but for full disclosure, we switched to softer food for Bernie for weight management and Grace for having really bad teeth. Anyway, during that time without the fish oil supplements, our dogs were shedding like absolute craziness.

They were both starting to get moodier also but I was attributing that to the fact that they were becoming grumpier seniors. Our vet explained to us that they could benefit from adding the fish oil supplement back into their food routines even with the extra that their fresh food gives them because Grace has arthritis and Bernie has a past of behavior issues.

We started adding this to both of their meals as of a few weeks ago and I’ve noticed a difference! I especially noticed how much shinier Bernie’s coat is and how Grace is less gassy. They both have happier demeanors overall, so it wasn’t their age after all! Bernie’s anxiety/panting has lessened if not halted entirely, which wasn’t the case when he was on the regular fish oil supplements.

We were trying to save money by going the pill route initially but now that we have seen how much this benefits both of our fur babies, we will never have them or any future pets go without this. This is a trusted brand among the rescue group I volunteer with as well.

I had purchased this before, and loved it for my fur babies. So, I bought a new (bigger) bottle, and the plastic from the pump ‘straw’ exploded, which is clear plastic, but I also keep finding white plastic in the oil, which would be from the bottle itself.

I think it’s just defective plastic because I did not have this problem before. Actually, the original bottle lasted way longer than expected/expiration because I stored it in a cool, dry place, with even temps.

Also, the pump prevents oxygen and bacteria from getting in, so it still smelled fresh until the last little bit at the very bottom. I had originally ordered it when I had two cats only, but soon after the dog got abandoned to me, and more recently we adopted two kittens.

One of the cats is 18 now, and the dog (lab) is 10, so arthritis and joint problems, which I felt this worked well for them, and was fine for the others. I wasn’t super consistent giving it to them, but it still lasted a loooong time.

I’d give the original bottle 5-stars, so the oil itself. The low rating is only for the new bottle because the packaging is defective. The oil smells as it should, I just don’t want them eating plastic.

I’ll have to order a new bottle and put it in a new container or something. I’ll be using it more consistently now because Bugsy won’t let me give him any other kind of joint supplement and he really needs it these days.

My BBFF, Agnes, has LOTS of maladies and is allergic to. just about everything. She takes low-dose prednisone and Benadryl to keep her itches in check, but sometimes, that’s not enough. So I’ve been looking for something that’s NOT topical (because she’s had reactions to a LOT of those things, too!), that might be able to help her out.

After a lot of reading and consideration, I finally ordered this stuff from Zesty Paws. It’s GREAT. Aside from being a medical dumpster fire, Agnes is also weird about food. She’s PLAY motivated and would forego food for the rest of time, if it meant she got to PLAY more.

So, sometimes getting her to eat is a bit of a battle, just because. she’d rather be doing something else (she likes her food and tolerates it well, so we’re definitely not switching it anytime soon!).

Add a couple squirts of this stuff, and she eats EVERYthing, RIGHT AWAY! MIRACLE! In addition to her just LIKING it and having it make her eat her food more consistently (which, truly, is enough of a sell for ME!).

it DOES seem to be helping with her itches! It’s still pretty early on (she’s been using it for. maybe 3 weeks?), but it seems like she’s chewing her paws less. And her coat seems softer and shinier, even after this short amount of time.

I’ll update if she has any adverse reactions, but. so far, I’m sold!.

Rescue dachshund w ivdd. She has several episodes of losing function in back legs. I take her to accupuncture and cold laser for 6 visits. But a bad steroid before this given by her vet did my dogs kidneys a ton of damage.

She went into renal failure. Post 1600$ hospitalization 1. Accupuncture and cold laser now 2. Pethonesty cranberry chew 1/day 3. Liquid gold. 4 drops per morning meal only 4. Half cup kibble soaked in hot water I mix several spoons into a soup base w sprinkle of dr Harvey freeze dried veggies 5.

6 small meals per day in soupy mixture w shredded cooked cabbage and chopped green beans Hee progress was painfully slow Then I gave her 1/2 dropper of this 1 time w dinner and it was a lot judging from her poop But she started running suddenly and her coat is super shiny.

And she’s sleeping more peacefully instead of barking constantly. This supplements worth a try. But I wouldn’t give the full dropper til you see how your pet does on lower dose first.

I love that this product comes in liquid form because my dog can be picky with soft chew supplements at times. It’s so easy to just add the dropper to his food dish, and I’m sure he appreciates the added salmon flavor! I only ever purchase supplements or vitamins that have the purest ingredients and no unnecessary additives, so this brand is really great and I know my pup is only receiving beneficial ingredients! Even though milk thistle is generally used for liver support, this liquid supplement also provides curcumin and salmon oil, so I don’t have to add even more supplements for him to get additional vitamins or omegas!.

A little every day with his food helps older dogs with their joint aches and pains. I believe this has made a lot of difference to him. Active ingredients so important to a dogs quality of life. The picture is wrong – it does not come with a squeeze dropper (as pictured) instead it comes with a syringe.

Recommend don’t use the syringe. Measure the normal amount onto spoon then always use spoon to measure out the same required amount (the syringe gets blocked up and you waste a fair bit).

We purchased this for the anxiety side of it. We have a very fussy pooch! My concerns were she wouldn’t eat it! We are halfway through the bottle. Anxiety isn’t as bad as it has been. But we do combo therapy.

When we showed the vet what we were using, he said it was probably better for her arthritis then the injections we’ve been getting. Skipped the last one and while stiff getting up, she has improved. Overall happy with what we are seeing in our senior since starting this!.

I love this product. We have used it for about four months now, and our husky’s skin has not looked better. We originally had her on the standard expensive pharmaceutical allergy pill that is always prescribed, and her skin stayed the same, but never got BETTER.

No complaints about the product itself, but the PACKAGING is horrible. The cap is always slimy, even though I cleaned it after the previous use. The bottle always leaves a ring on the table. I don’t know how it leaks, but it does.

And for a product with such a small dose, it’s crazy to have a bottle mouth this huge. Imagine soy sauce in a mayonnaise jar. This product should have the same bottle as ArthriSoothe Gold.

I started using Hemp Mobility for my almost 11 year old Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, Harley. Harley has been extremely healthy and never had any mobility issues for almost his entire life.

As an owner of a large and medium sized breed of dogs plus countless fosters, we go through our share of dog treats. These are unlike any other I’ve ever given them. I was skeptical at first since I don’t really know that much about CBD products for humans so why would I think about giving my dog(s) these? A quick look at the ingredient list and I realized that my dogs would really enjoy receiving these daily and me as a pet owner felt comfortable enough giving it to them.

It is hard to evaluate much past the ingredient list for taste testing for the dogs but they begged for me to give them each their recommended amount, so that tells me that they enjoyed their treat. The smell wasn’t that great, but then again, what would you expect from a hemp product? As a pet owner who tries to read the ingredient list as well as what is or isn’t in a product it is great to see that there is no corn, wheat or artificial ingredients inside and that you don’t have to worry about giving them a messy liquid product to achieve the same benefits that they can get from these treats.

CBD is said to have a variety of benefits for dogs, including easing pain and anxiety. Since our little doggo has separation anxiety, I’ve been wanting to give CBD treats a try. Pet Naturals of Vermont’s Hemp+ treats are a great option since they’re made from organic hemp and other natural ingredients.

While we haven’t notice much difference with his anxiety, our pupper loves the chicken flavor and gets excited as soon as he sees us reach for the bag! I wish the treats were easier to break by hand since the recommended amount for dogs under 25 lbs is a half.

Overall, we were happy with these treats.

We got our newest pup in the midst of COVID while everything was closed, so we did not get to socialize her nearly as much as we wanted to/should have during her socialization period. This has completely stopped my dog from scratching and worked in the first 3 days. My dog has scratched ruthlessly since we got her. She was a rescue so we thought she had fleas. We bathed her and treated her and could never find anything on her, plus we live in the desert with not much of a flea problem.

Then we noticed she would scratch when she got excited or nervous so we thought it was just a nervous habit. We moved into a new house with a big backyard and her stretching intensified to nearly neurotic.

At least it was making me neurotic. We went to the Dog Supplies store and bought her this Grizzly Pollock Oil. I was afraid she wouldnt eat her food even tho it says dogs like the taste. She is finicky about even treats.

I wouldnt say she loves the taste but she still eats her food so that means it must be really good according to dogs. But I literally noticed her less scratching almost immediately. Within 3 days she was scratching considerably less maybe 3-5 times a day compared to constantly aggressively stretching herself.

And whimpering. poor thing. Since her finishing one bottle in about 3 or so weeks. Ive only seen her scratch 2 times. That was yesterday and we gave her a bath and no scratching at all. Shes been scratch free.

I 100% recommend it even for all skin or coat issues and general health wellbeing. I give her 7 pumps twice a day on top of her dog kibble. She is about 65 pounds Shepard/lab mix. It has the recommended dosage on the bottle too.

This stuff has been a godsend for my Angus – he suffers from extremely dry skin (especially during severe weather seasonal changes) and would dig, bite and lick himself to death. When brushing him, the flaking, loose dry skin would literally create billows of white clouds as it came out of his coat.
