12 Best Heads For Pontiac 350 (2023 Updated)

Customer service was great and shipping was fast. Beautiful head with great features. Runners are a little rough cast, but look way better than any stock head. Haven’t fired engine yet but so far I’m really satisfied.

Whole ‘nother game with these,definitely worth the extra money for better quality. Threw these on my l05 350, 64cc got the cr in the 9s and the sound and power increased 100%. I. Now hitting 0-60 times of 4-5 seconds and everyone that goes for a ride starts laughing once the secondaries open breaking the tires loose while rolling.

Has some room for improvement with port and Polish as expected.

Your on your own with these. If you dont have spring compressors,height gauges and pressure testers your taking an expensive chance with these and your motor. It says roller cam springs but no details.

I wasn’t using a roller and planned on checking measuring etc. Not everyone has the tools or experience to do that. As it turned out I made a new spring compressor for these and future LA heads. Oh they aren’t application specific either so grinding and cut may be necessary depending on the application.

Again no worries here but no for everyone.

Heads look okay as far as looks. The valve spring seat pressure is 140, Speed master says these are for a hydraulic flat tappet, excessive seat pressure for application. The seat is as wide as the face of the valve, longevity is compromised.

Going to machine shop to correct seat and changing springs to 1. 250 springs with 115 Lbs. seat pressure. The larger 1. 460 diameter spring on this head will not clear a factory rocker arm. Poor description of cylinder head on Summits end.

Heads look great, no major parting lines in runners, machining is very good. Only issue was the sales write up which talks about the large intake valves. Specifications page shows the intake valve size at 2.

202″ which is a major error. Should read 2. 02″ with head fitting all standard geometry rocker arms. I hesitated from purchase of these heads for a couple years due to the over large valve size. This should be fixed in all future product information if this gets to the supplier.

Potential sale lost from wrong information.

You MUST flycut the valve reliefs on the pistons larger if using stock pistons. Expensive mistake. You are better off buying model 5023 with 1. 9″ intake valves since they bolt on easy with no modification necessary.

The product is a great entry level/cheap head though so 5 stars! Keep the RPMs under 5,500 and valve lift is more like. 500 max! You can see the marks the intake valves made so you can clearly see the reliefs are not big enough (as in diameter, not depth).

These are perfect for their intended use, the street. I used them with a Comp Cams 274XE cam and a QFT 600cfm carb. They pull much harder through the midrange than the 351W heads they replaced on my 302 Ford.

Edlebrock is one of the few companies making great performance parts for small block Fords. Great bang for your buck with these heads. Outperform many more expensive parts. Autozone has a great price on these heads.

The first thing I noticed, is the guideplates will not line up the PR, lifter and rocker. No mater how many times you try to align your valve train, you will see a few push rods at about 20 degrees off center.

The reason for this is you have to move a Pushrod on a few cylinders away from the casting which puts them at a significant angle. The next issue I noticed is they suggest buying Felpro 1255 intake manifold gaskets, they do not line-up with the intake runners, alot of trimming involved, the next issue is you cannot move the gasket high enough on the head to line up the intake manifold blot holes, so I had to enlarge all of the bolt wholes to get the gasket in the right place.

None of these are show stoppers, but having been an engine builder for 45yrs, there are too many small issues for me to be comfortable with them. Spend the money and buy a proven product.

I am very impressed with these heads, fit, finish, overall quality and I have seen a big power increase in my 1968 Chevy 327. No dyno yet but I’m very happy with the Flotek’s. ( and they were a lot less $ than some of the big name brands ).

These are going on my mildly built small block Chevy in an 1984 Blazer. For the money you won’t find a better quality

I installed this set of heads on my high performance 306. Running Comp cam 575 lift 310 duration comp hardened pushrods. I have been running now for close to a year on street and strip. In my 62 Falcon 4 speed 3 55 posi.

Offenhuser 360 tunnel ram Holley duel quads. KB Dome forged pistons 12 to 1 CR. I Original purchase these heads planned to run temporarily. Now I decided to keep running the E Streets. My only problem is keeping tire spin under control.

Well worth the money i surprised how well they work. Make sure you purchase the APR head bolts and washer kit. Correct hardened pushrods,make sure you line up the pushrod guides, don’t go cheap on head gaskets i don’t think the heads will give you any problems.

I’m attempting to put these on a stock 1969 351w. Things they don’t tell you you need are head bolt washers. Edelbrock says you need them in the instructions but Summit does not. You might as well get head bolts because they come with the washers.

Edelbrock says that they will work with stud mounted rockers, but not if you have the stock rail style. Really? If you are thinking you’ll just remove the guide plates and use your stock valve train, wrong.

Valve stems are too short and the valve retainers are too deep. So to use these heads you need a set of heads, a set of head bolts. a set of rocker arms and a set of pushrods. These things need to be listed in the Required Parts tab.

That would prevent a lot of hateful thoughts about Summit Racing.

I’m not sure what has happened to Edelbrock, but their quality control sucks. Meaning, their AQL is very low. I have used them for over 35 years and never seen something like this. I purchased these because I needed some better than stock, but not full out race heads.

What I got was good, but the quality control person should not have let these go out the way they are. What looks like parting lines are huge in some places, one exh runner has a “stick” of Aluminum protruding into the runner (pic 1).

Pic 2 is a spot next to a water port on the intake surface where it looks like the facing tool tilted some. Pic 3 shows what looks like an area of casting slag that was missed when they were cutting and cleaning out the valve seats and runner.

I expected cleanup, but not like this. If I wasn’t on a time crunch, I would have returned these heads. I’m just hoping the new Edelbrock intake that arrived yesterday is better than these.

I purchased these 185 Renegade heads based upon all the positive reviews and personal testimonies for my application. I can honestly say these heads are like pieces of jewelry , Beautiful to look at, they Scream quality.

If they perform as well as they look, then they should be Great! won’t know until spring as my motor is being built over the winter, but I expect them to be perfect for my 331 SBF Stroker Motor into My 64 Fairlane 500 Hardtop.

They setup beautifully. Guide plates and all. My 347 runs awesome with comp cams xe282hr cam , rpm air gap and Aed 750 carb with 4. 30s and a 6 speed. It really does run great. I did use 7/16 rocker studs with trick flow 1.

6 rockers. I can drive the car as smooth as butter all day long. A little bit of a stiff leg from the clutch but that’s expected.

Totally elated with the quality and performance of these heads. Machined masterpieces. Highly recommended for you small block Ford guys. Especially if you stroked your 302 with a Scat 347 kit. Take it from me GO ALL AMEICAN MADE!!!!!.

The heads are awesome and fit great! But when I received them the box was almost completely destroyed and when I took them out of the box 2 valve springs and retainers were off the stud and loose in the box.

Luckily I had the tools to put them back on but this could have been a issue and made them not bolt on heads.

These are perfect for the low compression big blocks of the mid to late 70’s. I am building a budget 440 RV motor that should be a monster street tire smoker for under $3000. Low mileage 440 from an RV, Hughes Whiplash cam and lifters, E-Street heads and RPM intake topped with a Quick Fuel Brawler 850 double pumper.

This combo has been dyno’d at 460-ish hp at 5000 rpm and 550 ft lbs of torque at 2000 rpm.

I have wanted a set of BLOCK SCRIPT Edelbrock heads for years now, and finally got a pair from Speedway. They were easy to install (would be worried if they weren’t), and sealed with the block the first time.

Obviously at. 410 chamber height, valve clearance for my street-driven rod was no problem. Eventually, I plan to on using these heads on a replica of a specific early lake racer, and look forward to many years of use.

Unfortunately, I don’t know what they look like compared to the original BLOCK SCRIPT head, and hope they appear a dead-on copy when installed.

Top of the line product, professionally manufactured at a reasonable price. What else can you expect?

The heads fit perfectly and were easily applied to the 46 Merc. Block. We started the engin in a stand and they sealed perfectly. I look forward to many years of service when I get the motor installed in my 49 pickup.
