20 Best Headphones For Audio Editing (2023 Updated)

They are nice headphone when they work. They are comfy. When functioning correctly they hold a charge for a long time. They sound nice enough and the ANC works well enough. But my first pair started to have issues with not charging after 4 months.

I tried resetting, changing the language to force software updates, changing the wire/charging block, etc. I contacted service and had to send in my pair in order to receive a replacement. The process took about 3 weeks and I got no notice when my replacement pair was shipped to me, they just randomly showed up on my door.

Fine. After about 3 months my second pair started to have the same charging issues but also had static noises and hissing coming from one side. I started the return process in January 2022 and I sent this pair in as well.

This time the return process took 5 weeks total and I had to contact Jabra after my headphones were sitting at the return warehouse for a week. In March I finally received my third, new in packaging, replacement pair.

These had the same charging issues out of the box! They would not charge above 60%. When I charged them with a 5v block the charging LED was solid green after a few seconds regardless of what the battery readout said when I turn them on.

When I charged them with higher rated blocks the LED light pulsed like it was charging but after being plugged in overnight they still wouldn’t charge over 60%Instead of exchanging my headphones AGAIN, Jabra refunded me for my full purchase.

I had these less than 1 year and I only had functioning 85h headphones for 8 out of the 11 months. Totally unacceptable for MSRP $250 and a company that wants to be taken seriously with the big guys in sound quality.

Buyer beware. TL/DR: You may save some money when the Jabra 85h go on sale from time to time, but that difference in cost when compared to other high end ANC headphones is not worth the hassle/reliability issues.

It has been an eventful 2+ years of owning these headphones and I must say all good things come to an end. These headphones have been my daily drivers every day. Battery life is godly!!! Charge this thing once a week with a 4hr daily commute.

Plus, super fast charging Call quality is superior to Bose and Sony and the price well worth it. The main reason why I got them. Has a bunch of bells a whistles (software related: conversation detection, knowing if it’s on your head) I could care less for.

But noise cancellation is pretty good muffling most 80% of a busy food court without music. With music playing at 20% volume ANC blocks out 98% noise. These are personal estimations. The bad things. Sound is great, not a picky audiophile, but reviews about bass issues are sadly true as it has good bass but some songs get messy to listen to at high volume.

Occasionally there are glitches with the headset regarding noise cancellation resulting in audio faults but they do occur. I’ve occasionally had to reset myheadset a year after purchasing because it malfunctions, disconnecting from my phone after periods of inactivity in the on position.

Lastly, and why I’m writing this review, the bands that have the company’s name on them broke. Actually, the plastic ends behind the bands seem to have began to degrade causing the bands to break and now I worry the headphones will slide out from the band and soon no longer work.

In short, build quality after two years of daily usage in Toronto Canada is my concern and has been my concern for other headphone brands as well. Eventually headphones fall apart. This headphone has been the best I’ve owned and the most expensive I’ve purchased ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

It has lasted me the longest from “reputable” brands like Sennheiser and Sony which have lasted a little more than a year between them. I do recommend purchasing these headphones for the following reasons: 1) CALL QUALITY!!! can’t say it enough.

2) The mute button!!! 1000% needed you don’t know you need it until someone is about to say something in appropriate while you’re on a call. 3) battery life 35h of glorious battery life that when dead you can still charge and use your headphones Bose can’t do that.

Other honorable mentions include: type c charging, swivel to wake, convenient physical button placement, water resistant material still try not to get them wet. Trust me ಠ_ಠ. and use the case when not in use you might get more than 2+ years from them.

I didn’t and I’m ranting to you about this mistake just do it. Side notes: if you have an average sized head I think you’ll be fine. Wouldn’t recommend any headphones for the gym, better to go with earbuds that clip to your ear in my opinion, but to each their own.

Where this product call quality preforms poorly is in areas where the wind whistles or where there’s a lot in your area like walking over bridges or around tall buildings, my experience. Currently considering buying a replacement pair, original purchased in late 2019, no headphone in this price point has matched it’s functionality in 2021.

Buy this headset if you want a fairly durable set of headphones, the best call quality in my opinion, and the best battery life I’ve seen in wireless headphones. Peace.

I bought these on the recommendation of another user. I have been a Jabra fan for a long time and although they don’t get mentioned in many of the ratings articles, I think this brand is a bit of a sleeper.

First test for me was the weight and fit. Many headphones do not adjust small enough to fit my head, which is such a nuisance. This model and one other brand’s model are the only two I could readily try on that fit.

Phone calls to date have been very clear, and music listening has also been wonderful. Functionally they work really well. Cosmetically I would appreciate a softer colour than black, a tad lighter weight, and a tad more adjustment for my head size.

These are excellent headphones. Great quality. The fit and comfort is very good. The sound quality is very good. I have two other pairs of name brand headphones and these are the best. Strongly recommended.

This is absolutely a wonderful headphone and can easily be driven by a PC or a mobile phone. This is a “open headphone”. If you are new to Open-headphones, you might be bit disappointed. No noise isolation or separation.

Nice and solid build; no fatigue in hearing for one or two hours. Does not cause headache or pain in the ear. The sound is not neutral/flat. However, if you use it with Sonarworks SoundID, it produces a near-flat sound.

In addition, if you connect with a decent DAC (in my case Pro-ject), it produces a wonderful and pleasing sound. you can increase the volume without stressing the speakers. Definitely, worth for the money.

If you got more money to spend, include a quality DAC along the chain (and don’t go for an expensive headphone).

I use these for critical mixing and for listening pleasure, mainly for classical and choir music. The stereo placement is superb. They are very efficient and so may need some form of attenuation with some sources but for most mixing desks and portable equipment they are just right.

Don’t expect artificial bass boom as they are for professional recording and hifi listening. With the ability to change cables, brilliant build quality and excellent environmental credentials, these are a bargain and highly recommended.

One of the best sounding closed-back headphones. The imaging is one of the best you will get for a closed-back headphone. I haven’t heard a closed-back that has beaten this headphone on soundstage yet either.

For gamers, this could be your endgame headphone. You will be very immersed in your gaming sessions. You will know exactly where object sounds are located with these headphones. There is not much bass, but just enough. For my preference, it is more than enough. Combo this with a good amp. It needs power to draw out it’s full potential. Feed it good clean power and you will get good results.

I ran into an issue with my purchase for this headphone at first with the manufacturer and Headamp resolved it right away. Their support is extremely fast to respond and provides you with a positive resolution.

The HD820 is one of those pieces that you have to try to believe! The sound is more open than many open headphones. You realize that the sound is a bit more closed if you compare it with the Hifiman HE1000 series, the HD800s, Meze Elite or any other that is characterized by having a huge soundstage.

The resolution, dynamics and speed is on par with other $3K and $4K in most cases. You need a powerful amp for the entire frequency spectrum to do its job. A great buy for its price.

So far I was impressed with what they can do. I will say that the sound is clean in a headphone like this. Definitely need a Good amp and Dac to drive the headphone. I am running these on a S. M. S. L combo and has plenty of power to drive them.

Look and feel is nice not going to blow your mind. Soundstage is tough cause it’s trying to be a open back in a closed back design. But give it credit for them trying something different. I still think the sound they produce is quality for price.

Headphones are difficult to select unless, I suppose, you are able to spend $400-$500 and up; if so, you have better reason to expect fit and performance that will actually delight you. These headphones arrived today.

At first sight, I judged the ear cups to be too small for me. My ear are _not_ huge. However, the cushions are exceedingly soft and smooth, so I am hoping for negligible pain. (I am referring to the kind of pressure pain one can have, as an example, after accidentally falling asleep with an ear flattened by the head resting on a firm surface.

) These are called over-the-ear, but that terminology — without any measurements in inches or centimeters — is not ideal. The manufacturer’s photos show an ear cushion design that differs from the one I’m looking at here.

My comments are based on my years-long use of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro (wired), which sound similar, but the ear cups on them are larger and rounder. Seems to be a trend to make so-called over-the-ear headphone cups smaller.

I also use Sennheiser 450 BT headphones, which are truly and beyond all discussion on-the-ear (the ear cushions never touch my face), despite the manufacturer’s use of the terminology over-ear. I suppose I’ll eventually accommodate my habits to these new headphones and will enjoy the absence of cord noise.

As a test, I played the colorful and dynamic first movement of Mahler’s Song of the Earth via a high-quality copy I had made from my CD and uploaded to my iPhone.

As expected, the reproduction is normal, or realistic, and not enhanced to a distracting extent. Thus, if the original media is well produced, this type of headphones will deliver all of it. The frequency range is very wide for Bluetooth headphones and I’ll have to try some Bach organ music to experience the low range.

I have only had these for about a day as I write this, and I have never owned noise canceling headphones in my life. I have had quite a few Sony headphones and earbuds in the past, basically all cheaper ones.

These headphones are pretty darn comfortable, but every hour or so I do have to give my ears a quick rest as these headphones have enough tension to gently press my ears against my head which is fine but starts to hurt my ears after some time passes.

The sound quality is rather nice considering Ive been using these mainly over bluetooth, but I’ve also been using Dolby Access (which costs extra) for the spacial and overall better sound. The battery life is outstanding on these so far.

The headphones talk in a female voice when you change sound modes or power, but beep when changing volume. I am quite impressed with how well the noise canceling works, I came into these not really expecting too much but the way I can stand in front of my furnace when its running full blast and not hardly hear anything – I had to take it in for a minute to really appreciate that moment.

These are cool. Theres a sound pass through mode thats supposed to let more outside ambient sound in while you wear them, but that one doesn’t seem to work as well as the noise canceling feature does.

Knowing now what these can do I’m very glad I bought these, and I bet the more expensive ones are even better but Im ok with these for the time being. If theres one thing I could change about these, I would appreciate better overall frequency response options over bluetooth.

These have a very nice overall neutral sound that will make nearly everyone very happy, these have nice bass too, but the sound, well its mid tier for the lack of words coming to mind about it. You’re basically paying for $60 Sony headphones but adding wireless and noise canceling to it, if you can do that math you can guess about what these can sound like.

For the $100 I paid for these on sale, Im very happy with them and this is a good price I think for this set, $80 would have been even better. One thing I would mention is if you plan to game with these, there is a very minimal input lag that I noticed from the muzzle flash of the gun to when you hear the shot firing, this only happens over bluetooth connection, on wired its no lag.

For casual gaming like i do its not even a big deal and you’ll get used to it and adapt quickly. I like these and will treat them with care as I have seen some others with cracks because of assumed rough handling.

Im aware of this somewhat fragile nature as I went to buy these and will give them a benefit of a doubt and we will see as time goes on if the materials stand up to time. So far, I have only had a positive experience and I look forward to enjoying these hopefully for a few good years.

Im very glad I went for these over earbuds because of the 30mm drivers in these, they do handle bass rather nicely.

I need to wear noise cancelling headphones nearly 100 percent of the time when I am at home. As I am currently located right in front of an agri business with flexible work hours the sound of bulldozers pushing dirt around may begin as early as 5 am.

While I had been a heavy user of headphones before here there is no good time to be without so versus gaming or working remotely ( as an early adapter so 13 years later I was able to help those not used to it on work- life balance ) the headphones in use stand a good chance of my falling asleep with them.

As it is a need ( I have synesthesia so unexpected sound is a bit like taking a blender to my brain ) I try to have no fewer than two working good quality and a back up whatever is on sale not to expensive so I am never without.

It took over 18 months for these to develop an unsolvable issue with the headband. The audio is still good but as a tight fit is vital to my needs this was a problem. In that time it outlasted a total of 3 ( 1 and 2 replacements ) of a brand primarily aimed at gamers which has a lot to say about durability and now my extended warranty with another retailer is not being honoured despite those ones having a 2 year manufacturer and add standard extended I am not there yet.

I am probably a bit on the cranky side given the combination of both synesthesia and autism can make headphones invested in very life or death weight that may be fairly unique given auditory to visual field synesthesia is low incidence and the type I experience low incidence within it – I could be a set of one in how serious this is as a need ) With it difficult to afford the kind some friends easily get funded I had modest expectations for these when they were on sale in the first Black Thursday of pandemic mode but they stood up exceptionally well.

Their battery life may actually be underestimated which I have not seen in other electronics. Sound is good and while i used it mostly with computers that have additional audio programs when using it with my back up , is barely a computer device , the sound did not take that big a hit other than in nice to have personal streaming tuning but overall still great.

To start this, I am a bit of a Sony fanboy. (core series speakers, amps, alpha cameras, head units, you name it. ) I got these on sale, and i’m glad I did. Full price for these are too much. I expected “ok” to “good” noise cancelling, but instead got subpar.

I didn’t buy these for cutting edge NC, so that was not a big deal. The big drawback was these are NOT supported by the Sony Headphones app. At very least, i wanted this app to allow for the EQ to be set.

These, at default, are too low end mushy. It sounds like you are listening to things with a large bucket over your head. There is no reason not to have app support for headphones near the 200 dollar mark when lesser models have that.

The positives- –USB-C charging. I can toss them in on a roadtrip and not have to bring a micro-usb cord with. –Not bad head feel. Cushions wear in over time and dont pinch even my large head. –3. 5mm audio in.

Simply the best headphones I have ever heard. I have for many years been a fan of my ATH-M50s, never having heard any others with as pleasant an overall sound – but they are closed back headphones that have the bass resonances and the “closed in” sound stage that go with that.

So I took a punt on a pair of these budget open air headphones – primarily for watching TV and Youtube Music. Wow! – The audio is so good I can scarcely believe it. There is bass that goes all the way down and is very clean – no doof-doof here.

The rendition of voice and instruments is spectacularly detailed, but can have some sharpness in the highs on some tracks – when the source is mixed by a treble deaf muso I assume. The first thing I did when unboxed them was to fix the problem that is well noted – that they tend to slide down on your head and don’t feel properly supported – because they aren’t.

I simply put a cable tie linking the 2 wing pads and adjusted the length for a perfect fit. Problem solved – they are now superbly comfortable and well supported. Although the sound stage is very open compared to closed back headphones, they are still headphones and it isn’t the same listening experience as a good speakers and amp.

I have owned many headphones. I was very pleased with their sound and condition given their refurbished status. These would not appeal to bass heads IMHO. The sound is generally well balanced. But, Im tempted to equalize the bass, just a small bump up.

These headphones are the best I’ve had. I had to buy them again after my last pair died after 2 years of heavy use. The best thing about them is that they sound very natural and they don’t deafen me to the world, so I can still hear if anyone is calling me or something happens around the house.

The Mackie MC 350 is a pretty good relatively budget pair of closed back headphones. It has great detail and the frequency response is flat so it’s great for studio usage. The only downside for me is that the headphones are a tad bit small.

Pulling the headband all the way is still small for my head. So the ear pad is cupping and pulling up on my earlobe a bit but it’s not too uncomfortable. Size is the main factor besides personal preference for sound for deciding to purchase this pair of headphones or not.

I needed a better pair of headphones to monitor audio for livestream. The Mackie MC-250 proved to be just what I needed. The closed-back allowed me to hear the audio feed without hearing ambient room sound.

That was the problem I was having with headphones that let in too much of the environment sound. No matter how carefully I adjusted the audio, what I heard later on playback was not the same. These headphones took care of that problem.

Many years ago, I had a good pair of headphones with a padded wire headband — flexible and comfortable. The Mackie has a more rigid headband, but it is adjustable and allows extended listening with reasonable comfort.

I love these headphones! I’ve owned them for about 2 weeks now. They are very neutral, and all the frequencies come out great without anything being overpowered. The pads are awesome! I’ve yet to have sweaty ears, but I’ve only worn them for a max of about 3 hour at a time so far.

It takes a standard 3. 5mm cable but it’s recessed in the headcup kinda far but you can use them with the Vmoda boom pro if you cut a little bit of the rubber off on the boompro. The short cable has a microphone and volume controls so you could just use that instead of the boompro.

The only con for me is that they don’t extend very far. I’ve got a med-large head and have them extended all the way out, so if you have a big head they probably won’t work. Also they are a circle shape instead of an oval so you need to bend the headband and that’ll give you a little bit more room too.

I’m only starting to get into mixing techno on my Pioneer DDJ-400, and wanted something more durable than my over-ear Sony XB950BT’s. The Sony’s are fun sounding headphones, but I knew I needed something a little more neutral and not bass boosted.

The build quality of the HD25 is most definitely plastic, but the headband and earphone hinges are durable feeling in the sense that they won’t eventually snap from taking them on/off your head multiple times during a mix/set.

The finish is this dark, almost matte-like low gloss – will help prevent scratches and hide wear very well. It’s also a good benefit that all HD25 components can be replaced, which adds to the longevity of the product and means less wasteful consumerism by buying new, throwaway product.

The sound – definitely an increase in highs and mids, with the bass not rumbly/boomy like my Sony XB950BT. The bass can get strong, but it is controlled and cleaner. I’m no audiophile, but I now understand that the type of messy, festival/rave bass isn’t the right kind of bass when it comes to mixing.

The HD25’s also have pretty good noise isolation considering its an on-ear design. I actually wore these for about 2-3 hours today after receiving them with hardly any ear soreness. The split headband does help alleviate some of the pressure off your ears.

Definitely noticed that I didn’t get hot or sweat (even during this hot afternoon). An over the ear headphone would make me feel the opposite. They’re very lightweight and comfortable, and adding 3rd party ear pads would only make the comfort even better.

Overall, for the $99 price I got these at makes this a very good value considering how these will probably last me the next decade – a timeless and robust piece of DJ kit everyone should have.

The HD 400S are the first pair of Sennheiser headphones I’ve ever owned. Having heard a lot about the brand for several years, I had high expectations for both the sound quality and comfort. Everybody knows the audio quality you’re getting when you purchase a pair of Sennheiser headphones — that wasn’t really in question.

However, I wear glasses, so I was really looking for a set of headphones that I could wear for long sessions without pain from contact between my ears, glasses, and ear pieces. For me, the HD 400S pass the test.

Unfortunately, where I’ve been slightly let down is in the contact between the top of my head and the headband. It varies, but on average after about 1 hour of wear, the top of my head starts to hurt quite a bit.

It’s not unbearable, but it is noticeable and bothersome. All things considered, this is a good set of headphones that I could happily recommend to a friend on a budget, but might encourage them to spring for a pair with a bit more padding in the headband.

I got these primarily to help me hear better in Zoom meetings as I’d often have trouble understanding voice (I’m not young and don’t hear as well as I did). I find they solve that issue very well. I’ve also been using them for streaming services and the sound again is better than listening on speakers.

As for the issue in a prior review of no bass. I don’t see this at all. I’ve played around with my sound driver’s equalizer and can get very nice sound and the music reproduction is every bit as good as what I’d expect from a lower end headset.

I have these now for about 2 weeks and I am very happy. This was a replacement for another pair of Sennheisers, some HD300 where the headband snapped – so much about Sennheiser being robust. These are straightforward wired headphones, no Bluetooth or noise canceling.

You pay for sound, no features or gimmicks. I use the HD400s mainly for music, some movies, and a little gaming and they are suitable for all of this. Sound is very nice on the Focusrite 2i2 Gen 3 audio interface that I generally use them with.

The 2i2 has a very nice DAC but the amp is not very powerful. The HD400s also performs very well on my phone or a FiiO M6 DAP. The HD400s feel more robust compared to the HD300 and the sound is better over the entire spectrum.

Punchy bass, beautiful mids, and crisp treble. Compared to the HD300 I can hear more details in music, the bass is deeper and there is more soundstage. The HD400s sound on par with a set of Sony headphones that cost me 5 times more.

Comfort I would say is similar to the HD300, these are light and can be worn for hours. Happy to give them 5 stars in their price bracket.

I experience these headphones as both incredible and disappointing, it outshone my expectations in some areas and fell short in others. I would advise anyone that commutes, listens to podcasts, and likes to game with a wireless headset to purchase them.

I would be more hesitant to advise them to users that are heavily invested in music, or prioritize noise cancelling. Pros: The headphones are lightweight, durable, flexible and have incredible battery life.

Intuitive controls and good Bluetooth connection make them super practical. I wear them for 10-12 hours a day and they feel great. The battery life is also just a huge plus for me and I definitely will not return the headphones.

Cons: The noise cancelling is disappointing, gives me a headache and doesn’t actually filter out the higher sounds. It muffles rather than cancels. The sound quality itself is just ok, the base is fine and music sounds good but it’s far from impressive.

I expected a bit more at the price point and they are not significantly better than the very cheapest jbl headphones. In short, practical users (not sound snobs) will find these headphones to be the perfect everyday headset.

Those that are looking for exceptional sound quality should keep looking.

Starting with a summary, these headphones are genuinely superb. The fitment on the ears, milage may vary, was on point. No issues with putting them on and having them fit comfortably and having heat management not be a problem at all.

Sound quality is also out of this world, they mananged to get all the points that I usually have a gripe with solved in these headphones. Fitment: These would probably be considered “On-ear headphones” for how small they are, but what JBL has done is made the cups large enough to fit your ear and nothing else.

With mine at least, it touches the very “front” edge of my ear and rests itself just milimeters behind it. The exact measurement is 1. 5″ in diameter. Clamping force is nothing to rave about, strong enough to keep them on your head, but not strong enough for quick, fast movements.

There is no “pin-point” feeling on the top of the head, it’s a nice evenly displaced cushion. Technical: Your typical buttons do what they’re supposed to do, and yes, BUTTONS! Pause-play work as expected, and double click to skip and a bonus of triple tapping to go back.

Volume buttons are a gripe though. It suffers from the classic 2:1 ratio. For every “2 volume step” you go up an actual audio volume difference. It’s something you have to live with but it does get in the way when you want that”just right” level.

There is no ‘auto-pause’ feature when you take them off and ‘swivel’ them. But having the ability to swivel them around your neck makes up for that lack of a feature. Sound: It’s nearly perfect. I know I said it made strides in my previous gripes with JBL’s headphones and it truly does.

Bass is one area they knocked it out of the park. It’s tight but not rumbling, if there’s a song EQ’ed right with more bass intended you’ll hear it and not muddled. It’s clean, clear, and punchy, but not rumbling.

Highs are another problem I had, but they adressed this with cymbals and high notes coming through as they should, and some vocals, but never coming through where it’s painful (similar to a “nail on chalkboard” feeling).

Mids are a bit wierd. In some Rock and Roll songs, some electric guitars sounded to be overpowering and muddy as if they were trying to be there but someone was putting a towel between them and you. Nothing drastic, just didn’t sound right.

But overall I would rate the sound as more than what you would expect from headphones like these; amazing sound quality. I wasn’t able to test the NC on these headphones since I don’t have the typical “noise profile” most people have.

But from the limited testing I did, it did it’s job well. It’s not going to blow you out of the water, but it sure isn’t going to leave you hanging. Low rumbles and *high* peircing sounds did come through still, but that’s to be expected with those kinds of frequencies, but everything in the middle it did a swell job at doing it’s best to block it.

The JBL Tune 760NC is a great pair of wireless headphones that deliver neutral-sounding audio. Its sound profile is slightly bass-heavy which adds punch and thump to music without overpowering vocals and lead instruments.

These headphones are good for listening to different types of music and podcasts. A high-quality wireless headphones with active noise-cancelling features. Aside from the good quality audio, it’s comfortable to wear and it has convenient controls.

In terms of connectivity, I experience good Bluetooth connectivity with it. It was easy to pair them with two other devices simultaneously, and didn’t experience any issues during the process. This is extremely handy since I often switch between different audio sources.

In some specific cases I notice some latency in the sound specially with Android devices. So, you may want to check other options for streaming videos or use an application that can compensate for latency.

But experience may vary depending on the environment.

Just received these today (Nov 18 2021). Bought them to use with a small mp3 player for audiobooks. Seems to be okay for the price point, but don’t expect the world in regard to design. The headband is all plastic and doesn’t have a lot of “”””””””give”””””””” sideways.

It is “”””””””adjustable”””””””” as to “”””””””length”””””””” from ears to top of head. I think those with larger heads would have a problem with these. The wires that connect from headset to device are very thin – so I don’t think they will last all that long.

The sound is adequate for my needs – I won’t be listening to music. (Update edit: I listened to some jazz via my laptop and it sounded pretty good; nice stereo separation). I’m going to be very careful when I use them and hope they work for a while.

I understand I bought a “”””””””cheap”””””””” product, but I had a similarly cheap headset from more than a decade ago that was very well made name-brand, had great sound, and only just recently died.

It’s a shame that all of these recently manufactured cheap headsets are under well-known brand names where quality used to be a given, but there you have it.

Perfectly adequate sound. Anything this cheap and light weight is going to be fragile – so take care. Sit on them and they’ll break. A little duct tape & ingenuity and you’re in biz again. Think about the wire length.

This is a common length, but longer would be better for me. Extensions are cheap though. One GOOD point is no mechanical inline volume or on/off control to break. Those things don’t last – and good luck trying to splice tiny wires to bypass them.

I wanted to take a minute to review this inexpensive product because they are really quite special. Not bulky. Incredibly lightweight. If you are old school or if you value preserving your hearing, try these.

I hate sticking objects into my ear canal, so these old-fashioned earphones are really nice. Here’s what I do with them but I wouldn’t say that you should necessarily take this risk. I connect them to my MP3 player and use them for deep water running.

I don’t submerge the actual earphones in the water but the connection tip to the MP3 player gets wet. They’ve held up! I also use them for phone calls. I talk into the phone mic but wear the earphones.

I live in New York City so if they can hold up there with a noise, they can hold up anywhere.

Got these on a stupid deal of the day. While I plan to use them for recording monitoring, I plugged them into an audio source and pulled up a couple of songs that I like to use when checking speakers and such.

The clarity and frequency response is top notch. I was very impressed by the sound quality. They seem almost as light as on the ear phones, yet comfortable enough to wear for hours. They also block out the ambient noise as good as a set of heating protector muffs.

Definitely worth it.

I have listened to every sound device I own to see how they perform with these headphones. The frequency response is excellent, and the lows, mids and highs are nice and clear. I can pump these with earth-shaking lows if necessary, but I usually prefer accurate music and voice clarity over extra thunder, so I definitely like these headphones a lot.

There are a handful of better headphones out there, but not at this price point!.

Negaitives: -These are not studio headphones so the product is a lie -They do not have a flat frequency response. Bass is enhanced and treble is muffled. -The input connector is molded. Which normally is not acceptable for studio headphones, however, in this case, it’s beyond unacceptable, as the audio cuts in and out from the slightest movement of the connector to any angle.

You will read this elsewhere, and, it is true. -The cans are not the proper size. You may think, “I don’t have big ears”, well, I don’t either. And, I’m an audio engineer, and, these are not the proper size.

They are not half size, or 3/4 size, they are designed to fit over your ears entirely, but are just slightly too small in (I’m guessing) 95% of cases. I have never experienced this issue in any of my other actual pairs of studio headphones or the plethora I’ve used at various studios.

Pros: -Price – but only worth if it if you want to solder a new connector. Which, I probably will. -Decent materials on 75% of the product just not where it counts. Conclusion: I think that for the materials you get at the highly discounted rate it’s an ok ‘deal’.

But the design is so poor where it counts it’s hard to say. In any case, if you are looking for studio headphones, do not buy these, because they are not. Using these would produce terrible mixes with no bass (as enhanced) and excessive treble (as attenuated).
