20 Best Headbands For Thin Hair (2023 Updated)

These headbands are awesome! I am glad that I took a chance and bought them to try. I am constantly looking for items that keep loose stray hair away from my face when I work in front of my computer screen during the day.

These work really well without slipping off my hair and without pulling hair. I also like them because they are thin and light. I highly recommend them!.

I made a grave error and decided to give myself bangs. I wanted these to hold them back. They work, but are quite tight. I do have a lot of hair to be fair. I do not wear them much due to this although I will try occasionally to stretch out.

So far, a bit of a waste since they give me a headache.

After wearing I immediately logged on and bought another pack. The only headbands I’ve ever been able to wear that don’t hurt my head or slip, and I’ve bought many brands over the years. Buy these. You will love them!.

I recently had a house guest staying for a few nights so I decided to spoil her with some Kitsch items for her stay and to take home with her when she left. I went with the floral print scrunchies, the floral print headband and the hair drying towel.

She is a plant enthusiast, so I thought this would be the cutest! She absolutely fell in love with them! Not only that, but after sleeping on my Kitsch pillow cases for the trip, she got home and ordered some silky, soft goodness for herself! I can only say how much I love and adore your products.

I search them out everywhere I go and when I see others wearing Kitsch masks I’m always quick to ask – “Is that Kitsch!?”. Thank you for making these products and I really hope you bring back the silk face masks!!!.

This headband is cute. I am actually surprised that I don’t use the pony tail hair opening like I thought I would. It didn’t turn out to be as practical for me and maybe it is for others. I just found the hole to be in a poor placement for my preference to get my hair out of the way when washing my face.

I now just put my hair in a high bun and use this bad to hold my baby hairs back away from my forehead. It is very comfortable and I enjoy the velcro because it is so easy to take on and off. The only downside to that is when I am bent over the sink the headband will slowly slide up and I have to pull it down often so it doesn’t completely slide off my head.

I only with it had some sort of grip. But since it doesn’t I guess it means that it is more gentle on my hair.

I love this headband! I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking I would only use it once in a while. I was wrong! I use it everyday. The action of pulling it over your head if you have a full face of makeup on might be a bit tricky, I have never used this headband in that instance.

I use it first thing in the am when I wash my face and do all of my morning skin care. I love the fact that it does not crease my hair in any way and keeps all of my hair away from my face. I love that I can tuck the length of my hair inside too without any falling out or being uncomfortable.

And if you’re one of those women that likes to do your make up with all of your hair away from your face this is the ideal headband. Like I said before, it does not crease your hair or mess up your bangs.

Let’s be real, any headband that you take off of your head, you’ll have to jooj your hair a bit but it does not crease it or make it bend in weird ways. I use this headband more than my other Kitsch Velcro one.

Although the Velcro one is great too. I love that one too.

This is everything I hoped it would be. I used to have to use multiple things to keep my hair up while washing my face (headband, hair clip), but this holds all my hair up and out of my face without fail, and without any twisting of the hair.

It’s also very comfortable! Does not make my head feel like it’s being squeezed like some other headbands. I was also very excited to discover that my shower cap fits over it, so I can use cleansing balm before showering and then wash my face in the shower, and then continue my skincare routine after I get out – and the headband stays put the entire time.

Whoever invented this is amazing. This is the only spa headband you will ever need.

It is super soft and great quality. I’۪m sure it works great for small or average sized heads, but it’۪s a no for me dawg. I have a melon head and big hair even in a ponytail and this thing barely covered the back of my head and hair.

It doesn’۪t slouch at all for ME personally in the back in order to tuck hair inside. If it was double the size, it would be a keeper for me but unfortunately it’۪s not. It’۪s probably great for kids and teens’۪ head size.

So big heads keep this in mind. It still gets 4 stars from me!.

This was a Christmas gift for our 13 year-old daughter who plays basketball and volleyball. While the color was an exact match to her school’s shade of red, the headband itself has been very popular with her due to its fit and ability to soak up sweat from her forehead!.

I finally found a headband that doesn’t hurt at all! I can wear it all day. That is significant as I have never found one that doesn’t eventually become sore due to the slight pressure it applies, even if it starts off apparently OK.

I agree with that “most comfortable ever” claim. You can bend and shape it just how you like to fit your head. I was so impressed I told many other curly haired people in curly hair online groups and many others commented they loved this headband too, many more deciding to go out and buy one! I have fine pretty soft and slippery curly hair and it sits on my head well.

If I move my head upside down or side to side can feel it move just slightly back and forwards on top of my head but settles back into place fine, the side parts of the band stay firm. That’s the beauty of being able to bend and mould it to your individual head.

I think if I was wearing it for strenuous exercise where my head is moving around a lot, say at the gym, it would still stay on as I’d just bend/mould it so it was tighter than I’d normally wear it just for that exercise period.

I wear my hair back alot when I’m home or running errands. My hair is thinning due to illness so I try not to pull it back tight I like using headbands, but I have a high forehead and low hairline in the back so fabric headbands never stay in place.

I love plastic headbands, but they always put so much pressure behind my ears and I end up with a headache. I found this at the pharmacy one day and decided to give it a try. It is super moldable. I can make it tighter, wider, whatever I need.

I do notice that it starts to get loose throughout the day and while it is one of the most comfortable plastic headbands I have tried, there still is pressure at the back of my ears. I think this would stay in place with less pressure on someone with thicker hair.

Totally worth the price and I am glad I picked it up. Yes, you can see my greys coming in in the pic, I’m due for a salon appointment lol.

I have very long hair and it is a constant challenge keeping it from my face while I wash my face, do a facial, etc. I have tried so many different headbands but they either don’t actually keep the hair out of my face or they do not look cute so I hate to wear for any length of time.

Superficial, but, it is the case nevertheless. I only use Turbie Twists to dry my hair so I was intrigued when I saw these. They come in all different pretty colors and are the same microfiber material as the Twist.

These actually hold my hair back unconditionally, without exception, and whether I have my hair already tied back or not. It’s a really wide band designed to tuck hair into it and it easily fits alllll my hair.

I never feel my hair tugging or have elastic marks on my forehead. They are very soft and comfortable. I wear them to bed sometimes when I forget I still have it on. It’s also kind of cute looking. My hair stays dry because the microfiber catches all the water.

I always look at the store for more colors. They are about seven dollars and I have washed mine over and over again without even the slightest fading or deformation. I really highly recommend giving these headbands a try! You can thank me later!.

The Turbie Twist Head band are perfect for keeping your hair away from your face. Whether you are cleansing your face/masking/or even while putting on your makeup for the day-these head bands work great.

They have several colors to choose from and they are easy simple to use. Another plus is that you can wash them in the washing machine. I always let them air dry myself, but I’m sure you can throw them in the dryer if you have a mind to.

I would say you should be mindful of the temperature you dry them in. I definitely recommend.

I did really like the concept because having a headband made out of that same tile material would be super good. The thing I didn’t like about it was it was too bulky and just too crazy looking when you had it on.

So it did do its job to keep the drops from getting into your face but it just looks ridiculous. It would make a lot more sense to make it where it was still kind of cute so you could actually leave the house in it I don’t feel like I would leave the house with this thing wrapped around my head.

I like these bands because they are sturdy and inconspicuous. The teeth help them hold my hair securely. I’m not one to choose wide or showy bands. I prefer function over fashion

Bought it for my daughter but i end up using one of it as i like the colour. its not that fragile but does not hold too strong or keep your hair back. suitable for thin hair or straight hair but not that suitable for thick and stubborn hair.

For the same price i might buy again for my daughter if got different colours.

My almost 3 year old thinks this is the cutest hair accessory I have. It is adorable. I have the perfect sweatshirt to pair this with. 90 points for cuteness but minus 10 points for not as comfortable for super long wear.

But my face slash head are sensitive. I get cluster headaches and have trigeminal neuralgia so unfortunately I can’t wear this forever. I always want to wear it to put my hair back while doing my makeup but get worried because it’s a cream color.

I always keep a pack of these around. I prefer the smaller headbands sometimes when I’m running errands or working out. These are small enough that they don’t draw attention from the width but they have a really great hold.

You get 6 for a few bucks which is a great deal. They do tend to get stretched out rather quickly but at that price, I don’t mind buying more.

I began to use Goody’s Ouchless headbands in 2009, but stopped last year because of this new design. This current design is horrible for people with natural hair. The older, thicker version of the smoother Ouchless headband was great for creating afro puffs and other natural hair styles because the headband could be doubled / twisted to appear as though it is two bands creating a large afro puff style.

(Goody’s ponytail holders are generally too small and thin for this. ) The former version also stayed in place. This version of the smooth Ouchless headband breaks easily, mainly on the 1st use. If I am able to put it on, then it immediately slides up, out of place, defeating the purpose.

Goody’s slide proof headband, which looks like it has a plastic zigzag around it, is not good for appearance purposes because again, to create an afro puff, the headband would need to be doubled, showing the zigzag plastic portion of the headband.

Without a rubber inside these won’t stay on my head for long. In fact none of them do really. I wear them with pony tails and within half hour it’s hanging on my pony tail. Shame I really like these because you can mix and match colors.

I will probably keep buying them though?.

I’m known by my friends and family to where a ponytail with a head band and I usually get those $1 stretchy ones at the beauty supply but sometimes my hair snags in them and eventually it loses all elasticity.

I can’t speak on my new satin headband’s longevity but it feels well made like it will last long. I will be buying more colors. I saw this brand a year ago and I’m sad I waited so long, but I’m glad I finally did.

I feel guilty, because when my hair has started to friz and wash day is near, I can put this headband on and stretch my hair another 3-4 days until wash day! It’s soft, doesn’t pull or snag my hair. The only downside? Not enough colors!!! If there were a variety of colors, it would be five stars easily!.

I enjoy my Slaps and satin lined headband. Gives me a sense of ease knowing my 4c strands are protected against breakage while looking stylish and keeping moisture locked in. I wear them for a quick errand run and at the gym.

These headbands are the worst! They are very cheaply made and cost too much for the quality of the item! They either dig into the side of my head and ears or slips off all the time, which is very inconvenient.

Especially when you are unable to fix it. When that happens it’s all you can think about. There is no help for these unless they should adjust for the present day fashionista. They are still stuck in the 1980s.

Its a no go for me. Wouldn’t even reccommend for children.

I really only use headbands to push my hair back to wash my face. Occasionally, I like to leave my hair down and wildly curly. So these headbands are perfect to get my “big” hair out of my face. They are a little snug and give you a headache.

So you might find yourself pulling it off to relieve that tension.

First of all I really like this brand , whatever product I had from them has worked great for me. I wear headbands while at work because working in a medical facility , they keep my hair out of my face.

They are thin enough to not look bulky, but also not super tight to where they give me a headache. I love these and would definitely recommend.

XL hairs ties are amazing for thick hair. Bought a pack of these just to try them out, along with several packs of the regular size hair ties. I love the XL size so much, I hardly touch the regular size hair ties anymore.

If I’m looking to put my hair up like Geralt of Rivia, then I have no problem using a regular size hair tie. If I try to do a full men’s tail, then a regular size hair tie is just too difficult and tight to use.

I can use XL hair ties in either situation and it works and feels great. Definitely going to buy more and hope that more color/pattern options are continued to be added in this size. The hair ties for guys are always of highest quality and are extremely long lasting.

I bought 2 packs of hair ties in 2016ish and didn’t need to buy anymore until this past year. It wasn’t because the quality had reduced over the years, but rather I just ended up eventually misplacing them all.

I appreciate that the emblem on the hair ties are now being sewn on instead of glued. That was my only complaint about the old versions of hair ties. They’ve done a great job making the colors/patterns look more vibrant in the new hair tie versions.

I plan on buying more often, not because I need to, but rather I want to collect all the color/pattern options. No plan on getting short hair anytime soon. I’m a customer for life.

These were bought in preparation for the real awkward phase, so I’ve not had a chance to use them yet, but they feel like they’ll serve their intended purpose. For now I’m considering them as chokers to really add to my awkward phase goofball look.

They feel much more stable than the usual bands you find in other places. I love the hold they give me and can’t wait to grow my hair even longer. Also the material feels soft but sturdy at the same time.

I was really excited about the designs of the headbands at France Luxe. I have thick hair and wear a headband daily. I enjoy having different colors to match what I wear. When I received the headbands I was excited but literally after one wearing, the band was too loose to stay on my head especially when bending over.

The teeth on the band are the only saving grace. I thought I was ordering a wider band, maybe that would have helped. I believe the band should be stronger to hug the head snugly. I would be interested in trying a wider band to see if they are more strong.

I will not buy another until the strength is improved. Thank you for asking.

For some reason I never bought any of the cork collection accessories in the past. I guess I was always put off by the brown-looking streaks to the pattern as pictured. In person, the streaks are actually metallic gold (the same as the cocktail collection) and much prettier.

I have both red and orange, and I love these colors with the gold; they’re both perfect for autumn! Very unique headbands.

i think these are the most attractive hairbands ever. i bought 3 and like all the colors that i could have bought more. i was disappointed that they hurt my head at the ears almost immediately and there were gaps at the top where the headband was sitting above my head not even touching it.

i have never had this happen before. it was packages well so it was not damaged it transit. disappointing.

I really like this head wraps, they are very good quality. Resistant and durable. Even when they get a bit more loose you can easily use them to hold your ponytail. They hold in place with the silicone they have inside.

Doesn’t damage your hair. I definitely recommend them!.

I like these. The length is good. They do grip and stay in place for the most part. They are pretty affordable too. The reason I took stars off is because over time, and not a lot of time btw, the grip strip starts to come off.

So they don’t last me very long.

This product is great for working out or anything active. The nonslip grippers on the inside really don’t slip. The only downfall would be they stretch out after about 3 months use but that doesn’t bother me because they work very well and are inexpensive.

I got the wine red color. It looks a bit more dark red in real life. It works as advertised. My hair stays in place when you wear them and it’s also comfortable to wear. It’s cloth wrapped around plastic and it’s light too.

The hairband does not pinch the back of the head. If you have baby hair or bangs, this headband actually keeps them in place for when you need hair off your face. I would keep this in my favorites if I ever need to get the other colors too!.

This hairband somehow manages to be too tight and not tight enough at the same time. Hair on the top of the head will puff up due to lack of restraint from the headband. Yet the headband was tight enough that it hurt around the ears after wearing for a few hours.

I don’t recommend this headband.

What can I say? It’s a headband. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. I love the teeth, and how they hold back my hair. I prefer them over headbands without teeth, which always slip off my head easily.

I got the black headband, and I’ve worn it three times already, since getting it less than a week ago.

I love that these basic neutral headbands have the elevated touch of suede texture. They are soft and comfortable, but still have enough hold to keep my thick straight hair back. Headbands often feel like they are digging in behind my ears, but these don’t bother me at all with the lightweight thin design.

I am in love with these super comfortable headbands. In my experience it is hard to find headbands that are effective in holding my thick hair back but also don’t pinch behind my ears, these headbands are my answer! I also love the colors that come in the pack.

Most headbands make my head hurt behind my ears, but these are lightweight enough to not press too hard. They are an easy accessory to add to any outfit. Some of the colors don’t look good with my hair color, but 2 out of the 4 colors work great for me.

The headband is quite wide but no larger than the one from Olaben. It has grip dots but showed signs of slipping in down dog so I was wondering if the headband would slip all the time during Vinyasa, if it would snag like the Airlift leggings but it passed the test.

You have to wear the slim part on the neck during the practice. It did slip 3-4 times during my Ashtanga home practice full of jumps to handstand, jumps through, jump back to chaturanga and inversions, but not to the point of bothering me.

So despite the salty price, I bought 2 more and I will buy each time same color drop as the set is available. Because the other thing that bother my practice is my face full of sweat drops and the headband helped with this.

The headband did not feel too hot, it did not show sweat stains like Airlift leggings do and it’s 33°c everyday in Saïgon Vietnam. If you get a cheap headband, cheap wrist bands, cheap microfiber towels, they do not absorb the sweat.

Slim sport brands headbands were good but the tropical weather in Vietnam creaks down anything that is made of plastic within 18 months, and overtime the elastic overstretched. Cinched side up and hair released give a cute classy look.

With a ponytail, large band up gives a unflattering nun look someway but it keeps the baby hair off my face, which is another bothering thing during the practice, when my hair look like it has been hit by a storm.

And I waste time redoing my ponytail several times in the middle of the class. The next test will be during real ashtanga Vinyasa class with my Indian Yoga Masters, which is faster and more intensive.

My biggest worry with all the Airlift leggings I bought is this fabric snags at first use. After the first class, guaranteed there will be a snag on the leggings. You end up having to be watchful of not damaging your Airlift set during your practice instead of focusing on your practice.

The Airlift excite bras haven’t suffered and surprisingly the Airlift headband have survived the rubbing against my multiple ear piercings. It took to hand wash it delicately tho and no serious yogi have time to hand wash their yoga sets one by one: I already spend 2h on Asanas + 1h on sadhana (mantra chanting + meditation) + 45 min shower, I don’t want to spend another 1h to do hand wash laundry immediately after use OK.

The care of our outfits should be our last concern.

Love everything about this color! I have the black already, and its wonderful-but the rust adds a little kick for me. I was hesitant at first about this color, but pics don’t do it justice-in person its got a nice sheen to it, little rubber like dots to stay on your head (which my head is slightly larger- I wear a 7 1/2-but the headband is not too tight-no headache-and usually wear with ALO logo in front! Overall-Recommend!.

If you move too much, the headband does start to come off (at least for me). Once I put my workout headphones underneath it ended up staying better and was tighter. I also found it was great for holding my bangs back underneath my snowboarding helmet, and doesn’t make it too thick, so that has been a nice alternative use for it.
