20 Best Hdmi To Coax 4K (2023 Updated)

This HDMI extender via coax — Monoprice product #16046 — is spoiled by a poor IR flasher. The HDMI extension works great, but the reverse IR transmission fails because of the weak, directional flasher included with the extender pair.

My rating is a combination of 1 star and 5 stars, because if you’re planning on using the reverse IR transmission it’s the 1, and if not it’s the 5! I have two pair of these extenders that I bought a few years ago that each came with a much larger IR flasher — indeed a blaster.

There’s a picture of that large flasher visible on the end face of the transmitter on the Monoprice page. In my AV cabinet, the old pairs each control four devices on one shelf and a fifth on a lower shelf via a repeater.

The four devices and the repeater sensor are all within 4″ to 8″ of the old flashers, and everything works very well. I had to be careful positioning the devices relative to the flasher, that’s all. By the way, one of the four devices is a Monoprice # 4×4 HDMI Matrix Switch #15378 which I dearly love! When I tried to install this new extender pair to a third TV in the house, I could only make the reverse IR transmission control one device on that shelf and the second on the repeater, and it would only do that if I positioned and oriented the flasher perfectly — if it moved a tiny bit in any direction it didn’t work at all.

I tested the new pair by connecting the HDMI transmitter (IR receiver) to one of the old flashers and it worked perfectly, so it clearly is the new smaller flasher that is the problem. Monoprice sells these new small flashers separately as product #27220, Monoprice Blackbird IR Blaster — though it’s in no sense a blaster — and I would not buy them under any circumstances.

I have ordered a genuine IR blaster intended for a remote hub made by a well known universal remote maker and a 2. 5mm to 3. 5 mm adapter. We’ll see if that works.

Worked as advertised. Had problems getting them to work at first and then realized it was my older DirecTV receiver’s HDMI output. They don’t seem to like these modules. I upgraded my equipment to all HD receivers and then this system worked great.

Really high def picture using the coax already installed in my walls. Highly recommend this.

Got this to utilize an already-pulled legacy coax and it worked, but then suddenly failed after a few weeks. I elected to refund rather than replace since I anticipated needing more than 1080p. Ended up pulling new cables (thru difficult conduit) and used the SlimRun AV fiberoptic cable which has been great so far.

I bought the item because I bought a new Smart TV. It did the job. I am satisfied.

The image of the item I purchased is misleading. It appears on Walmart’s website to be a gold-plated HDMI cable, but what was mailed to me was not. (The gold-plated cables tend to cost more and are reported to be better quality.

I don’t know anything about cables, but got a new tv for Christmas. I read the reviews here and purchased the item. Great value, the first cable I bought was a lot more expensive and too short.

Great Cable. Expensive , but I know it won’t fail down the road like some of the other HDMI cables i have bought in the past. No sense in investing in expensive equipment and inexpensive cables. Also these cables are future proof.

I bought this cable to have the ability to move my streaming camera further than it could with the measly little 3ft cable I bought from Amazon. At 6. 5 feet, this cable should be dunking in the NBA.

This is the cable I needed to get my M50 camera to properly record and stream with no issues.

Always bypass cables from other retail sources – these cables cost less and work perfectly. Hooked them up to 3USB drive with 3D images from my camera to new LED TV. No problems. Perfect transmission.

I know all HDMI cables are digital but they are not all the same. I have bought many HDMI cables from many different manufacturers and Kramer by far stands out. Many times when I have setup for an event and had a problem with the signal I ended up swapping out the cable with a Kramer and the issue went away.

Kramer is all I buy now.

This cable is well-made and substantial. Strong connectors and tough sheathing. All in all, a great product.

I use this cable to run through an HDMI distro amp to supply several monitors on a broadcast set. Prices range from cheap to are they kidding me with HDMI. I decided to try a bunch of affordable brands, and so far see no difference in performance.

So spend less and get teh same.

The cables arrived on time and in good order. However, one of the two failed. The signal did not get to the display. If the cable was held a certain way it did communicate – let it go and the display turns purple, then no-signal message comes up.

It won’t be worth the shipping, etc to return the cable for an return authorization. This is my first disappointment.

The 24 AWG HDMI Cable’s diameter is very thick and I could not expect it to make the required semi-tight bends up through the conduit in my wall and out behind my new Samsung 60″ LED TV. With a Sanus Slim Mount that’s only is 0.

55″ thick, there is no way this cable can be bent without possibly damaging it. Another unfortunate design flaw (probably on Samsung’s side) is this HDMI’s end connectors are way too thick and if I were to try connecting them in the Samsung’s very shallow recessed ‘bay’, the connector was looking at a 15 degree angle to the Samsung’s HDMI ports obviously the TV connector would be damaged as I doubt you could damage the cable’s very robust (but fat) connector end.

Another thing, this 24 AWG cable lacks the suggested Ferrite Cores at both ends, so I purchased the correct snap-on cores expecting them to be perhaps (maximum) 5/8″-3/4″ thick. NOT. The only ferrite cores that will fit these thick cables are almost 1″ in diameter and there is no way I could install them between the wall and the Samsung TV given the Sanus Slim Mount is only 0.

55″ from the wall to the back of the TV, and the recessed ‘bay’ for AV connections is (maybe) 3/8″ deep. This cable would be excellent for table top mounted situations or perhaps wall mounts that provide much more clearance than Sanus’ Slim Mount, but you may still have a problem snaking this beast down through wall conduit and making many ‘contortion-ous’ bends that are greater than (say) 45 degrees.

With the problems I encountered with this 24 AWG cable, I exchanged them with some 10 foot 28 AWG cables (w/molded-on ferrite cores) and a mix of 90 & 270 degree male-to-female adapters, a couple of swivel connectors, and a couple 8″ extension/adapters, to achieve proper ‘no-strain’ connections.

These cables and the extra items made it easier to make those tight bends down through my wall conduit, and the molded-on ferrite core ends actually fit (now) between the TV and the wall. MonoPrice’s exchange policy, active/on-line customer service ‘task force’ for immediate questions and resolution, and simple instructions for return of merchandise, not to mention quick refund, is absolutely the best I’ve encountered to date.

I got an Amazon Firestick, and it came with a tiny little extension. I wanted to plug the extension into my AV receiver and sort of suspend the Firestick in the air out behind the cabinet. What better solution than to get a heavy, 24 gauge Monoprice HDMI extension that goes from inside the cabinet, extending three feet out into the air.

It almost stands up by itself. It’s certainly easy to grab and move around. The Firestick is now out in the path of the wireless signal, plugged in with great plugs, and going through high quality, heavy conductors to the receiver for great audio and video.

All is well. PROS: Heavy duty, great plugs. CONS: Not flexible, but I knew it would be thick.

I got this for my Samsung Blu-Ray player but it ended up making my TV lag, also preventing me from turning it off or changing the source. When it did work, the image would cut in and out & there’d be white specks flashing all over the screen.

I ended up taking it back & bought the “Premium certified HDMI High-Speed Cable with Ethernet”, from the same brand. The change worked like a charm & it was only a $10 difference (I got the 6ft cable to have some wiggle room).

I purchased this HDMI to connect a monitor to my work laptop and it works well. I’m glad I purchased this, quick and easy to obtain. Love the accessibility of purchasing online and having it ready within 2 hours.

We needed a cable to connect the dvd player to out family room tv. This cable does the job. It’s just the right length to reach down to where the player sits.

There is not much to say about an HDMI cable. The connectors fit properly, the signal is appropriately transmitted, overall it just works as expected. It is nice to be able to store it conveniently in a spiral since I travel a lot, something not able to be done with round cables.

I bought this to replace a cable that got busted at the connector. I liked the fact that it isn’t terribly large in diameter and flexible making it easy to dress it so it doesn’t show. The very reasonable price got me a spare as well!.

Many stores will sell HDMI cables for upwards of $90, but they’re a scam. These cables work great and are built well, and cost much less than the overpriced junk from other stores. Perfect length for running a blu-ray player to a tv, or PC to your monitor.

This cord worked for a couple weeks and then the connection started to go in and out. Tried switching it with another cord and confirmed it was the cord, not the device.

I am not sure what I could say about a cable that you may not already know. However, the cable was long enough, and transmitted signals well. Service was good, product as described, and C2G has been, twice now, able to beat shipping expectations and provide a good product.

I had ordered similar cables from another well known online vendor which simply did not perform. C2G shipped, immediately, and was a pleasure to deal with. I also have to give them high marks for the clarity of the photos of the cable terminations, laying a cable on a table and photographing it from above doesn’t tell me anything about how the ends look of if they will fit.

I’m using these two Cables 2 Go HDMI cables as part of a surprise gift for my wife on Mother’s Day (a new 32 HD TV in our bedroom). I’ve used a number of Cables 2 Go products in my video editing bay for my home studio and have total confidence in their quality, performance and value.

Don’t get suckered into buying high end, high dollar designer cables at the big box stores. These cables are more than ample for 95% of most consumers’ needs. I like the thinner HDMI cables for side mount HD TVs because it is easier to get a flowing curve (where it plugs in on the side of the TV) to make concealing the cables behind the TV easier than thicker, bulkier cables.

I only gave it 4 stars because there are stouter cables made that may be warranted for your personal preference and needs. Otherwise this is an incredible value in my book any day of the week.

This ZILR HDMI cable works well for my needs and the secure connection is a big plus. I use this cable with my Ninja V connected to the Sony FX6. It is offered at more than a reasonable price. I wish I knew about this cable before buying the similar Atomos HDMI cable that costs nearly 3x as much.

So far I haven’t had any issues with speed in recording UHD 4K video. The secure connection feature lessens risk of the cable being unplugged easily. The pouch and velcro strap that comes with the cable is also a great addition.

Definitely a quality product. I only give it 4 stars because my cable came with some of the paint finish chipped off. So I think there could be better quality control but it doesn’t affect it’s function.

I’m pretty sure they included the length of the heads in the measurement of overall length. The actual length of the cord shorter than you might expect once you consider the lengths of the heads and the small bit of length required to make any bend out of the camera.

Otherwise, it’s lightweight and appears to work fine. I ordered two of them. You get about 13 and half inches of good working distance. You could go another half inch, but the cord would be taught. Any more and you’re straining the connectors pretty good.

This recent new HDMI cable is much superior to a cheaper HDMI cable that I purchase last year which failed because of its inferior construction of the cable to connector. I learned my lesson that it is best to buy a higher quality product.

This was a great cable for me. As a pastor who is still trying to ensure we’re streaming service well, we’re constantly learning what we need to do to improve. This cable allows us to have a better monitor for those of us in front while still keeping social distance.

I’ve ordered a few items from Micro Center and have been impressed with their selection and service. This was also the case with the long HDMI cable that I needed to connect my laptop to my HDTV. The product was as expected, price was good, shipment was fast – Micro Center is nice to work with.

I was using a gold plated HDMI cable prior. Signal looked amazing on the 4K. I was having hdmi issues (was a software issue in the end) but I wanted to rule out signal. When I plugged in the Monster cable I was shocked.

The picture was SO much better. I could actually tell there had been static in the signal due to the other cable. No longer with the Monster. Crisp clear 4k HDR with zero distortion. Sound is that much better as well.

Cables make a difference and Monster proves that beyond a doubt. Worth every penny. You wouldn’t think there could be that much of a difference in signal between cables. There is!.

Although this cable was kind of expensive, it was totally worth it. A must have if you want the best picture you can get on a 4K tv. Why spend a bunch money on a really nice tv, then buy a cheap HDMI and lose some of your resolution? Spend a few extra bucks and get this cable so your picture quality doesn’t suffer.

This HDMI cabe works well. However, I don’t see any difference in this one and other mid- range priced HDMI cables.

The SlimRun(TM) 230ft HMDI cable was a great solution for our long distance signal transmission. We used this cable to replace the HDMI extender over CAT5/6 which failed routinely within 6 to 12 months.

Recommend purchasing an HDMI repeater. This was needed to be able to boost the signal generated from a PC graphics card and a switcher/scaler. This cable worked well with a DVD player, so I recommend purchasing a repeater just in case.

PROS: Easy install. CONS: May require an HDMI repeater for some HDMI devices. (Note: this is an inexpensive add-on. ).

When you need a long cable and need to be able to carry a high bandwidth signal, cheaper cables just don’t cut it, especially after the crucial 10m mark where it degrades. It’s true that a more expensive cable doesn’t affect the picture quality, but with digital, either they work or they don’t work at all at higher resolutions and framerates.

Other cables failed where this one succeeded, and unlike other big chunky cables or more dodgy active cables that are very delicate, this just works!.

Absolutely brilliant cable. My picture is amazing and sound is so much better. Very expensive cable. But as other people say we spend lots of money on home cinema. So it’s worth paying extra for the cables that connects.
