20 Best Hats For Sweaty Heads (2023 Updated)

This was a gift so I can’t return it and the gifter will be disappointed when they learn I can’t wear it. Comparing this to another cap (premium from a registered run) adding an inch or using more elastic in the adjustable strap, could potentially change this to one size fits ALL rather than one size fits most option.

I like everything about this cap except for the adjustable strap which prevents me from closing the strap and only creates a problem with entangling my hair in the exposed unvelcroed part of the strap.

Really disappointed because the hat is stylish enough to wear even when I’m not running.

A little boxy but a good basic adjustable athletic hat. The material is nice and the fit is good – the side mesh panels make it breathable. It washed well and kept the shape, black doesn’t seem like it will fade.

Price is decent for quality.

I Absolutely love this hat! I constantly get compliments when I’m out and about. I own it now in every color. And the fit is the best I’ve found in a woman’s hat. Please don’t ever discontinue!!

I just wanted to share my experience from yesterday and the last year of owning a Melin hat. I was given 2 as a gift. I had some sweat stains on the one I wear to workout in and I couldn’t get them to come out.

I called customer service, they were slammed do I pressed * fir them to call me back. Which they did. I had the pleasure of talking to Sharmin Hakim. She helped look up the account and confirm the hats gifted to me despite me not purchasing them.

Melin and Sharmin answered all my questions and took awesome care of me. That kind of customer service makes a $70 hat well worth it. I normally trash a Richardson 112 in about 2-3 months in the gym.

Then it stinks, covered in sweat stains, and I toss them. Awesome hats, awesome customer service! Thanks Sharmin.

I ordered the headsweats chef caps but I wanted visors as an option too. In the end, myself and most of my people decided they liked the visor better. While the chef caps are really great, these visors seem to work even better.

We really like the extra thick padding on the forehead for sweat collection and softness. The elastic band around the back seems to be decent quality and I like how wide it is so its not applying pressure in a small area.

I will say the elastic part can bother you after many hours of wearing where the adjustable cap can be adjusted to a tighter or looser feel, but overall I still prefer the visor over the cap most of the time.

I only wear Headsweats visors for running. The elastic back does not pull my hair or slide. The fit is always comfortable, no pinching near ears. I run 50 miles a week and I run marathons throughout the year.

In any weather, Headsweats works for me. I can wash in bag on delicate cycle and gang to dry.

I love this visor so much, that I have them in several colors. I use this visor for long runs, walks, and golfing. Keeps seat off my face and allows my head to stay cool. It is not bulky, and looks great on women.

Visor is easy to wash, and is a great value.

The flamingo print is really fun and great colors. The construction is great and it’s so soft and comfortable. I’m now a fan of Sprints. I do wish they would add some solid colors to the line. I wear mostly baseball type caps daily due to chemo alopecia and the prints don’t always work well.

I love my new rainbows and unicorns hat. They took care to put a rainbow and a unicorn front and center on the brim— just like it the photo! Oh, and the 4 vents in the cap and the Velcro band adjuster are very practical.

So lightweight that I forget that I have it on. Great for running. Sits a little high on my head but stays on great unless it is really windy. I get a lot of comments on how cute the print is on the hat.

Really good , quick and good product

This is without doubt the best running cap I’ve found. I love it so much I’ve bought the black one twice, as well as a white, navy and pink. Would love to see it in more fun colours. I have a small head so most caps are too big but this one fits perfectly when adjusted using the elastic toggle – I love how quick and easy to adjust it is as well as being secure.

It doesn’t sit too low on the head, either, so doesn’t get too hot. It’s great quality (I bought the second black cap for when the first one eventually has had enough, but after nearly 2 years of multiple wears per week it’s still going strong!) and comfy.

Highly highly recommend.

I bought this with a birthday voucher, so it was half price. I’ve wanted a new cap for a while as I only have one and can’t use it when it’s in the wash. This cap does come up quite shallow compared to my other one, but is saved by the secure toggle at the back, which is really easy to tighten, especially mid run.

I have quite fine hair so I was concerned that it might not fit or fly off, but it stayed put. It was windy when I went out as well, so it passed the breeze test! I would definitely buy more in different colours.

Let me make this clear; this is a good hat. The fabric is quick-drying and light. It’s perfect for keeping the sun out of your face in the summer and the rain out of your face in the winter when you’re out pounding the pavement.

However, and this is important: YOU CAN’T WASH THEM. The washing instructions are basically do not machine wash, so not dry clean, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not immerse in water. Wipe with damp cloth.

The hat I got is WHITE. After one use the sweatband was stained with fake tan, after about 8 months there are visible fingerprints on the bill and THERE’S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT. It’s probably going in the washing machine at some point despite the warnings, I’ll update if I can and let you know whether it survives.

If it doesn’t I might get it in black, or I might get one somewhere else out of sheer pettiness.

This hat is great – perfect for trail running and hiking. The synch/bungee makes for quick and easy adjustments. The color and material are fun too.

I absolutely love this hat! I have a small head and I was able to adjust this hat so it fits me and doesn’t look big. It’s lightweight and you can throw it in the washing machine. I use it whenever I am going to be out in the sun for protection and the fabric is super comfortable.

My forehead sweats so much that I constantly have to wipe it with my glove. This cap solves the problem, it absorbs enough and wicks it away that I no longer have to wipe off my forehead or have sweat running into my eyes.

It also has a visor which is great for keeping the sun out of your eyes.

Long bill to keep the sun off & let you see, decent sweat capture (though I wear a headsweats band under it), adjustable so it doesn’t blow off (though I tend to hedge my bets by adding a hair clip to secure it).

Very very light weight and all but the bill is highly squishible, so easy to stash in a pocket or in your car so you have it when you need it. Love it.

I am typically not a hat person, mostly because I have a large head which most hats are too tight/small for, especially as a woman (why the clothing industry decided all women have small heads is a mystery to me).

HOWEVER, this hat is a dream. It’s big enough for my large head, and it’s adjustable – I have it tightened only about a third of the way. Perfect for a mid to low ponytail, which works for me since higher ponytails tend to give me a headache.

It’s so lightweight and breathable, I pretty much forget it’s on in terms of heat management on a run. The bill is amazing at keeping out both sunlight glare and rain. I have it in both black and grey, and I love it.

I love the lightweight, wicking fabric of the hat. And I love the sliding band adjustment since it is NOT Velcro. I do wear it on the smallest possible setting so please do not make it any larger. However, I am a woman with a small head so when I wear the hat, it covers half of my ears.

This gets uncomfortable for long runs or days spent outdoors. A “smaller head” version would be preferable to the current one size system. That said, this is my second chaser hat because I haven’t find another that I like better.

I have worn Headsweats Shorty Scull Caps for 3-4 years when road cycling (I discovered them during a tour de France commercial a few years back). While it may seem counter intuitive to wear something that covers your head under your helmet, especially here in the Texas Summer heat, these things work incredibly well and keep my head significantly cooler during my rides than when not using one.

Wonderful Chef Bandana this works great for my husband who has a bald head and sweats profusely. He said I truly prefer this over a normal chef hat because of how it absorbs sweat so well.

I have experimented with about 5 running caps and this one is right up there. It is not the lightest I have but it is a valid contender. The brim is very firm and the cap has that feel of a plasticized, water resistant material.

It is comfortable with a good clasp to adjust size that does not seem to slip. The colour is certainly vibrant.

This is by far the best cap I’ve ever owned for training. It’s now a staple in my running kit and I don’t go out without it! I’ve also worn it when not training too as it’s sleek looking in Black with the logo and not bulky at all.

I may have to get the white too! When it’s hot, the cap serves to protect both my head, eyes and face from the sun. Gone are the days where I have to keep pushing my sunglasses back up my nose! Very nice hat. I use it for running, walking, and hiking, and it is very light and breathable with mesh venting on the rear sides. Construction is high quality and the fit is adjustable (rear adjustment belt tucks into a pocket).

Unstructured so it can be washed easily. I got the navy and colour is true to the picture. For reference: I usually wear medium in hats (22″ / 56cm circumference).

I purchased this hat for river canoeing. The chin strap loosens easily. It’s removable but the clasps do not stay closed. Because of these issues it is suitable for canoeing in any kind of windy conditions.

I called the store where I purchase it and they wouldn’t do anything for me as I had worn it. There’s no other way to test the hat! I received it as a gift. Very disappointed.

Comes in different sizes. One size fits all doesn’t fit me. Those are always too big. Protection from the sun and a strap to hold it on at the beach is a real plus. Think I’ll search for more colors!

Excellent cap I chose it for the size to adjust the size, but in any case it is a bit small (especially in height) for those of us who are bigheads.

I like this cap because it is closed in the back and gives that fitted cap look! The size was perfect and the comfort and stretch of the material is excellent. Most flex-fit caps sit up on your head and can blow off when riding a cart or any high wind.

This one sits fully on your head and the bill is the perfect length for playing golf. The blocked look of the cap is professional so that the Callaway Logo sits squarely in the middle of your head. The material and design of this cap is great.

I put it next to another name brand cap and you could clearly see the better stitching and layer of the material on my Callaway cap. I only buy fitted caps and this one is right there with the best I have ever purchased.

I wear a lot of men’s golf caps because they seem to come in a lot more variety of styles/colors, and honestly I always thought my head/hair was too big for a women’s cap. I wanted something a little more classic looking without a larger logo, and I’m glad I took a chance on this Callaway cap! It fit nicely out of the bag with no adjustments, and I could still rock a frizzy ponytail while working on my below-the-forehead tan line.

Keeps the sweat from rolling down your face. And DARN IT! I LOOK SEXY with it on!!! OK not really but the point is to stay comfy when doing your sport. In my case its cycling.

This cap was for ME. I have an issue with finding a hat that will fit me since I have a small head. Adult hats are way to big and a cap like this one doesn’t come close to fitting me. This is not the first time I have had to go to the children’s department for head wear, so I was very pleased that this cap fits perfectly! Hard to find any head wear that doesn’t look like it was especial made for babies.

Purchased the yellow for my son last year when he was 2. Its still in great shape but I figured he could use a second one. Just got the sky blue color for him for this year. He loves it! They fit great and are a great price.

Look, I’m not gonna be biased and say this is a bad hat, because it’s not. It’s just that this hat isn’t for everyone. I mean, if you’re an Xbox and Halo fan, I’m sure you’ll love this hat. Even if I was an Xbox and Halo fan, I wouldn’t wear this hat, because it’s too loud and attention-grabbing for my taste, but that’s just me.

It appears my first review with photo from a few months back got taken down. so here we go. The hat is good, materials, not so much. I bought this hat, and I had soon thereafter put maybe 20-40 miles of biking and running(3-4 workout sessions) on the it when I noticed a ‘sweat stain’ on the underside of the brim that would not go away.

It was a normal looking sweat stain but had a blueish tint. nbd. I attempted to hand wash it and saw the stain wasn’t coming out, and it never did. Odd, I’ve never had this happen with any of my other hats.

I bought the hat back in Aug/Sept and to this day the stain remains, and grows with the sweat. Something with the dye in perhaps the sweat band/lining caused it to bleed into the brim. The hat works ok, but now to others it just looks like I’m always sweating when I’m wearing this hat.

Also, after just a few hand washes, the perforated side and back panels began to get this weird ‘cheese grater’ texture. Never had a perforated panel hat so I’m not sure if that’s normal, just something to point out.

Great hat! Very similar to other lightweight, water resistant hats but at a better price point with much faster shipment! Just ordered two more in alternate colors! Only downfall is the lack of options as they can broaden the color palate and provide some additional styles etc.

I like this hat. I don’t have hair, so comfort is extra important to me, as is the way it looks on my head, as some hats I have tried can look lumpy in places where on other people’s heads hair might fill it out.

This hat is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. I like the way it looks on my head. The color in person is a mellow, mid-tone blue. It breathes pretty well. I have been wearing it for running and just casually.

I appreciate the subtle branding on the front. For me ideally there would be none, but I’d much rather have a simple geometric logo like this than the company’s name splashed all over the place. The only gripes I have are minor.

I have found a couple loose threads here and there that I’ve had to snip. The brim is very flat, and while I like a fairly flat brim I wouldn’t mind it being slightly more curved, and it hasn’t held the curve I have tried to bend into it.

I’m not in love with the bright turquoise color of the logo. But, again, these are minor flaws. As you can see I still gave it 5 stars because I’m happy with it and will probably buy another in the darker blue color when it comes back in stock.

The new bill on thew black is just not for me. I have Every color!! This is is my favorite had besides the new duck bill. Pluis black is my favorite color. The 1 Star is for the new bill on the black cap.

At least the homless gentlemen loves it! I gave it tothe gentlemen shorty after getting it. If this is this new bill they have lost me.

I’ve never owned a “running” hat. I would use my cotton/mesh hats to run and decided to give this a shot. This hat is so comfy, breathable and looks great backwards or forward. It’s so great I even wear it when I’m not running.

Easy to wash. Bill doesn’t change shape or bend no matter how you pack it in your bag. Easy adjustment to tighten and strap has a reflective tab to boot. Highly recommend.

I purchased this beanie based on another HeadSweats product I’ve been using for years (a headband with a sweat absorbing terri cloth lining). I guess I made an assumption this same liner would be built in around the base of the beanie, but it is not.

So. if you are looking for just a flimsy, light weight beanie for your skull (under a helmet) this is probably for you. If you are actually looking for something to keep the sweat out of your eyes and keep your head a little warmer on cold days – not going to work.

I’d return it but it’s not worth the aggravation and restocking fees. I’m sure there are better beanies out there for warmth and sweat absorption.

I’ve used quite a few different liners to help with sweating in the eyes issues while cycling here in Florida. Been through Halo, some generic brands, Castelli etc. This is equal to, if not better than the Pearl Izumi ones that I have.

Seems to wick the sweat away pretty well. No issues on first ride with it. I will say that the temp and humidity was down today but I’m a heavy sweater regardless and it seemed to work real well.

I have three of these so I always have a fresh one on hand. Keeps the sweat from soaking my foam helmet liner and my helmets always smell fresh and keeps them from rotting. Keeps my noggin cooler too, and.

keeps the sunshine from burning through the vents to my thinning hair. Worth every penny.
