My brother knows me so well! He gave this to me for my birthday this year and it’s the best gift! I was really needing a new cutting board. This cutting board is so great! It’s very sturdy, very heavy and really solid! I use one side for cutting and the other I have been using for charcuterie.

It’s so beautiful and because of the size, it makes such an impressive display. The coloring and quality are gorgeous. A well thought out gift given with such love! Including the oil so I can keep to clean and in excellent condition! Always wipe with a damp rag, never submerge your cutting board, then a nice thin coat of oil to keep it moisturized and the wood won’t warp or split.

There are few kitchen products that I would describe as a thing of beauty and a kitchen essential but, my Boos Block maple cutting board is definitely one. I have owned many cutting boards over the years, plastic and woods ones that discolor, develop knife marks, slide around when using them and I hide when not in use.

The glass cutting boards don’t discolor but dull knives. The Boos Block board is wonderful. To start it’s a great size for almost anything I’m chopping. It has enough weight, so it does not slide around and when you are pounding out some meat on it, it absorbs the impact.

I like the two groves on the sides so it can easily be lifted and or flipped to use the other side. Before my first use, I have been following the instructions on sealing the wood with the Boos Block wax and oil and have found that nothing to date, has left a stain on the surface of the board.

A little soap and water and it look like new again. The maple is soft enough so its gentle on knife blades but hard enough that I have yet to damage the surface from cutting on it. The quality of the maple and manufacturing of the board is top notch.

I leave my Boos Block out on the counter when not in use as an accent in the kitchen. It’s adds a little flare to the room like you see in those design shows and food magazines. This will be the last cutting board I will ever need.

Once you start using a John Boos cutting board, you give away any other cutting board you own. They are made in the USA using northern hard rock maple. The craftmanship is wonderful. The Chop-N-Slice is 1 1/4 inches thick and a nice overall size.

I’ve cut a watermelon on mine without worrying about keeping it on the cutting board. This cutting board is solid, it’s not going to rock or scoot away while you’re cutting. It is reversible, both sides are usable.

Wood is also a very knife friendly cutting surface. I highly recommend getting the John Boos Cutting Board Care and Maintenance Set. It has oil, a tube of cream and an applicator. The applicator has a beautiful wood handle and makes caring for your cutting board quick and easy.

You absolutely need to follow the instructions and prepare your new cutting board to help it last a lifetime. I’ve been oiling my board every use the first month of use. I plan on using the cream monthly.

Water now beads up on the surface. I just give it a quick rinse with soapy water after use, rinse, dry, and apply a light coat of the board oil. John Boos Company has been making wood cutting boards since 1887 and it shows in their beautiful products.

A little disappointed. The bottom does not have any rubber stoppers, so the board moves all over the place when you use it. I ended up having to put a dishcloth under it. It’s beautiful on the counter but hard to use.

GREAT SIZE Although I would have preferred if there were if there was something on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the counter. There is also a knot hole in the woo grain that is actually a hole.

This is a beautiful cutting board and would make a nice accent to any kitchen. I love the cutout along the edge to avoid juice getting all over my counter.

It’s a beautiful board – the wood pattern is really lovely. I also like how it has gripper pads on the bottom corners so that it doesn’t slide around. It seems to be getting scratched up basically immediately upon using it, so I docked a star for that.

Omg the bestttttttttttt cutting board I have ever used. It is heavier than the plastic ones however I liked it because its big so I can do a lot of cutting at the same time. Also more presentable on the kitchen counter.

May leave some colour when washed for the first 1 or 2 times but overall I am totally I made this purchase!.

Such a beautiful cutting board! It is just the right size to keep on the counter and use daily. It also makes a great display with fruit and muffins for a brunch. Love it displayed with the salad bowl set too.

I received this cutting board as a gift for Christmas. To be honest, I would not normally purchase from Pampered Chef, but since it was a gift, I kept it. 4 months in, and the wood stain has significantly worn away, appearing faded.

It no longer looks good enough to be left out on the counter. The wood also has several knots, which originally added to the beauty of the wood, but has since partially fallen out, leaving holes in the board that will collect bacteria.

I would not recommend giving this cutting board as a gift.

Over the last 13 years of grilling I’ve used all shapes, sizes and material of cutting boards. A lot of them got the job done but made the cutting process so much harder. My least favorite is the “slip and slide” where you have your cutting board moving everywhere while you’re trying to cut.

I love love love this new cutting board. The blended wood tones are so complementary to one another and to your home. I actually purchased another one that I won’t use as a cutting board but as a display piece and set a bowl of fruit over.

It is gorgeous! It has fantastic gripping power and does not slide at all on my counter top while slicing and dicing up fruits and veggies. The size is terrific as well and perfect for my needs. By far my favorite cutting board!.

I was in the market for a new cutting board and really liked this one. I brought it home and washed and dried it. The next day I noticed the suctions on bottom are not evenly distributed so the cutting board is wobbly.

It does not stay it place while cutting. I have tried it on multiple surfaces and it is not level on any surface. I already have cut intentions in it so I’m afraid I cannot return it. Super sad about the unevenness.

This cutting board is great. It is super sturdy and the rubber grips on the bottom help it not slide around on the counter. It is large enough to use as a serving tray as well. Clean up is a breeze with this.

I wouldn’t suggest putting it in the dishwasher but if you do it’s not going to ruin it. It is a little heavier than I would like but is just a preference as this is not super heavy. I’ve used this numerous times and you still can’t see any wear and tear in it.

Love this huge cutting board. I could not believe the price when I found it. I have always wanted a big butcher block cutting board. We have a large family – 8 kids plus my husband and myself – and we cook from scratch, so we use it every day, from cutting fruits and veggies to processing our own chickens to making dough for bread, donuts, rolling out cinnamon rolls, etc.

It’s size makes it versatile for all kinds of things and it’s weight means it doesn’t slide around while being used. I have been using it for several months now and it seems to be very heavy duty and durable.

I expect it will last for years. I plan to order the mineral oil elixir to protect it. We may even end up picking up a second one. Although I consider it’s weight to be a plus, it would be too heavy for anyone who is weak for any reason.

That would be the only possible problem I can think of!.

First let me say this cutting board is very nice! Upon receiving my order there was shipping damage and a spot that was splintering and splitting. I went to the website and clicked the chat now link for help, explained my problem and was told they could reship or give me store credit.

EXCELLENT customer service! I chose reship because It’s a great board and I want it! It’s solid and does not slip around despite the fact that there are no rubber feet as it is reversable. Seems to be well made I think the one I received just had a defect.

I love the thickness and the size is perfect for home use, not too big, not too small. I took away one star because of a dent on the edge which I think was from shipping. It was in a perfect fit cardboard box with only a very thin foam sheet wrapped around the board.

Bubble wrap and a slightly bigger box I think would have prevented the dent. I hope my replacement is in good condition. The price is FANTASTIC!.

Excellent cutting board! It comes with two sides: you can prep meat on one side, and flip it for vegetables. It’s very thick and sturdy, made from a nice wood, a great size, and takes oil well. Since my apartment is on the smaller side, it gave just the right size without being too small or too big.

It also has some convenient handle grips on both sides, to make it easy tp carry around. Great quality, and way better than my previous Board. Highly recommended!.

Overall a great edge-grain cutting board, heavy and reversible, with a decent deep drip catcher. Looks really nice after a couple wood oil finishes as well. One small flaw is the knothole/defect on the smooth side of the board, looks like it may be a weak point in the board and was covered up by the packaging so I didn’t see it until I’d already started oiling the board.

Aside from that one section of wood that should’ve been caught by QC, the rest of the board so far is great.

Its really nice and heavy. The Maple wood on it is also very nice. The only downside to it, is that it is a little hard to store. Our normal place where we keep cutting boards doesn’t come close to being big enough, so just keep that in mind.

But once you bite the bullet and buy a nice board like this you can’t go back. Its great!.

I bought this about 5 months ago. I treated it with Paderno Mineral Oil as per the instructions. However, the board began to warp/curve upwards towards the ceiling. I’ve asked a gentlemen who specializes in making cutting boards what could be the cause.

The likely cause is the fact that the board is made from too many small pieces (18 in total). With fewer pieces, the wood slats are more solid and resist bending. Another cause could be water moisture trapped under the board.

If you were to attach rubber silicon feet to the underside, this may help to prevent it. I am going to attempt to return this item under the warranty claim, which is too bad, because I love the look and feel of the maple wood.

I was so excited to get this delivered. But it hasn’t even been a proper week and the board has started to curve. It says moisture resistant and it’s not. The only moisture it was exposed to was from the veggies I would cut on it so I don’t know why it has started to curve as though it’s been submerged in water.

which it hasn’t. I would not recommend this at all. Either get the really expensive boos block or just go with any other kind than this.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and so far haven’t had seen any warping, which was my main concern. I treated it with mineral oil when I first received it and have been alternating use on both sides which I think is helping to even it out.

I also had been using a smaller board previously and didn’t realize how much I was missing with the larger area of this one.

I have this cutting board in the dark finish. OMG, I absolutely love it. It makes a statement in my kitchen as well as being extremely functional. I normally would not spend so much on a cutting board, but you get what you pay for.

I also purchased the oil as well as the cream you can get to keep your cutting board looking it’s best. I highly recommend this product.

This is my first official cutting board after upgrading from an IKEA one. It’s a great size for cutting a variety of items and has a good weight to it. I ended up getting a third party wash, oil and wax kit and its kept my board in good condition so far.

I can see this piece being apart of my kitchen for years to come.

I bought this as a present for someone so I didn’t really use it to cut anything on, but I did open the package and placed the board on a granite countertop and felt that the rubber feet were too small to provide sufficient stability for the board.

It moved very easily without me applying much pressure on it. So, my recommendation to the company is to use wider and thinner rubber feet to provide better stability and prevent sliding when placed on a granite or similar surfaces.

Great quality and addition to the kitchen. Very good looking and exactly the size I was looking for. Only downside is the wood started to perl the first time I used it so be sure to thoroughly wax it.

Years ago while watching cooking shows with the wife, I noticed the appliances on some shows were Viking. I wanted something Viking. $6000 for a gas range, $9000 for a refrigerator? No way. A toaster was more in line with what I was thinking.

I found out almost all toasters had been recalled by Viking for electrical problems. This beautiful cutting board is Viking, with no electrical or moving parts. It MIGHT be used as a serving platter, or hung on the wall.

It is too nice to ever be used as a cutting board.

Dude, what’s a nice block of wood doing in a blade shop like this? I’ll tell ya, it’s taking a chopping a beating and a smooth greeting. I don’t like paying so much for something I’m effectively going to destroy, but I got it on sale.

I personally like Viking brand since years ago and always stick with this brand when it comes to my kitchen. The design is nice and it is strong. From cutting small veggies to using a big knife to break a strong bone of beef or frozen fish.

I have been using this chopping board for the whole year, a part of scratching on the surface as it has been using for many times/day per year, it is still very strong and still my favourite kitchen tool that I can rely on.

How did I possibly live this long without this essential piece of kitchen equipment. I finally have a board worthy of my japanese knives. The little legs on the bottom elevate the board off the counter and prevent it from accidently getting wet on the underside when working near the sink.

Brilliant. I will finally avoid the warping I have experienced with other products. The size I bought enables me to scoop my chopped food easily into bowls/pots. I smile every time I look at this piece of artisanal beauty! I also love that it comes from Nova Scotia! Those Cape Bretoners have it down!.

I love this cutting board, I’ve tried a few end grain cutting boards and some slouched because the glue wasn’t done right or whatever various flaw. This is a gorgeous board and hits all the spots. I get compliments all the time on how pretty it is when people come over.

Oh and the attention to detail is on point. There are no wood knots filled in with glue, very important to me!.

This is my first end grain board and I can’t stop looking at it and admiring the patterns and wood. Simply stunning! I don’t have any other boards to compare it to but the Larchwood feels so soft to touch and I can’t wait to try out my Japanese knives on it.

One of the corners of the board appears to have been chipped off and glued back together then sanded down. Didn’t notice it until I was seasoning the board. Very minor and hardly noticeable and you only feel a slight indentation when you run your fingers over it.

Since this board was handmade, little things like this can happen but just adds to the character of the board. Hoping that it can stand the test of time and last me a lifetime.

I went with this cutting board as it’s supposed to be stronger but still knife friendly (I have quality kitchen knives). Having previously had the usual wooden boards, of which the last one had split, I thought I’d try this one and the aesthetic appeal is beyond incredible.

As a retired chef I am partial to a good chopping board! This board is excellent, being of decent thickness and non slip on a marble top because of its great design. I use it for carving meat, chopping veg and cutting up fresh grapefruit – and this board is the best.

I just received this cutting board yesterday but couldn’t wait to write this review. This is a beautiful board. The wood is really good quality, although it is not from a single piece. It is sanded beautifully and well made.

It sits level and doesn’t rock at all. I have been looking for a board like this for some time and this is at an affordable price range.

Really nice cutting board. Liked that it was elevated by the rubber encased feet, except that during shipping some of the legs were damaged. Webstaurant Store customer service was fantastic. Replaced the board quicker than a lightning bolt.

Couldn’t have imagined this level of customer service, other companies need to follow their example. Enjoying the board, conditioner was easy to apply and clean up is a breeze.

I originally bought these for carving stations on buffets to catch any juices that came out of the meats. Which they do well. I’ve had them for over a year now and we still use it for that purpose as well as crudité or cheese boards.

They give a nice presentation and haven’t warped from constant washing. I would buy again if needed.

Nice quality, beautiful “food safe” wood, just the right sizes for grabbing to chop veggies etc. I also have a larger heavy maple cutting board but it is too heavy to drag out for frequent use. These will be my “go to” boards.

This is the cutting board that you need. The large is big enough to move cut veggies aside so that you can cut other veggies with plenty of space to spare. It is amazingly beautiful and very well made.

The expert craftsmanship shows. The food scoop I got with it helps a lot and does not scratch the board. It seasons beautifully using Clapham’s Salad Bowl Finish. After two weeks of seasoning once a week, the food just slides off when cleaning.

The board has a nice spring to it when cutting, especially compared to my old edge grain board. The cuts on the board heal nicely enough that I can’t even see them after a day. If you’re on the fence about spending the money on this board, pull the trigger.

If you take good care of it, It will become a beautiful and functional kitchen piece. You won’t regret it!.
