20 Best Hand Mixers For Baking (2023 Updated)

The first 5 star rating I’ve give – EVER RAW POWER with sophisticated elegance is the only way I know how to describe the function of this hand mixer. The action is glorious and the controls are almost ‘Apple like’ in SMEGs attention to detail to size, function and lighting.

I almost got the KitchenAid and canceled the order when I saw the Barbie-toy-like power compared to SMEGs. I was so sold I bought SMEGs Espresso Machine Coffee Grinder Milk Frother …and the STAND Mixer is next on my shopping list I’m NOT a fan of their Blender, toaster or Kettle.

The Pro-Line series offered by KitchenAid is the king of standard that SMEG needs to achieve if they wish to change my mind. The steamer on their Espresso Machine also needs to be redesigned as it’s too short (almost too toy-like too be considered functional)….

hence the milk frother, which also makes an excellent hot chocolate OR ice chocolate so definitely not a stupid purchase. REALLY REALLY happy.

Really disappointed, This is so slow even on speed 9. the beaters are useless for creaming butter, I had a kenwood hand mixer for 30 years and the beaters had flat blades, the Smeg beaters have rounded blades which seems to be a design fault.

I was concerned before buying and chose not to purchase KitchenAid product for this reason and not realising the Smeg beaters were the same. ( was hard to see online) I brought this product so that I wouldn’t need to get my Kenwood stand mixer out all the time, but it was a waste of money, I should have just brought a cheap one in Woolies.

Smeg needs to seriously redesign the beaters and improve the speed of this product.

This mixer takes me back to my childhood—it’s lovely to look at, sturdy yet not too heavy, and a dream to use. It’s quiet and doesn’t fall over when you put it down! Then there’s the added bonus of three sets of beaters.

The KitchenAid hand mixer is a cordless mixer aimed at those who want to have the freedom of using the mixer anywhere. It is a very powerful tool and with the 7 different speeds you can mix even a tough dough.

Slow mixing is very well possible due to the lowest setting and the many gradual steps. The highest speed on the other hand is more than powerful enough to mix tough dough and fast enough to even beat up eggs.

There is no “turbo mode”, but I didn’t really miss it anyway. The beaters are easy to remove and easy to wash due to their simple design. The metal mixing pieces of the beaters don’t overlap much, making them easy to wash.

Due to this design, no bits get stuck inside the beaters. The only downside to these beaters is the fact that when you put them on the mixer, you must pay attention: there is a left one and a right one.

The beaters are thus not interchangeable. The beaters are however very sturdy, heavy and feel like high quality pieces. I’m confident they will last a long time. The only disadvantage: the mixer is rather heavy, probably due to the battery and the full metal beaters.

On the other hand, the battery does last a very long time and charging is very rapid. I hardly ever have to think about charging it. And if I do have to, there is a handy little LED indicator to show ou the status of the battery.

The manual states that you should charge it at least 10 minutes per use, however even 5 minutes is enough in my experience. I would recommend this mixer to anyone who wants an easy, quality no-nonsense mixer which will last them a lifetime.

I bought this a beautiful red mixer a month ago & l’m SO delighted with its design & functionality. Being cordless it can be used not only quickly but anywhere in your kitchen without being restricted to a space near a power outlet.

It is light & comfortable to hold & use for longer periods of mixing. It is very sturdily built & tackles with ease anything you want to do , from beating egg whites to more robust tasks like meatloaf.

The beaters are easy to fit & are a good quality thick metal to easily handle the more robust jobs. I LOVE the feature the mixer has of being designed to stand on its end so that the beaters can be positioned over the bowl while preparing other ingredients at various stages of mixing.

It’s easy to use & easy to clean & a delight to use. Cordless means quicker use & lots of freedom in the kitchen. I love the way it lets you know when it is half way through its battery charge , so you can give it a full charge if you want to before your next use.

I tested the KitchenAid Cordless 7 Speed Hand Mixer model in Black Matte; but it’s also available in six other colours: Empire Red, Onyx Black, Passion Red, Grey, Blue and White. For me the biggest plus is that this mixer is cordless, especially when you have a small kitchen like me, with not much room and only one plug-socket.

This way the cord does not get in the way of stuff you have on your kitchen counter. I would have expected a battery life indicator on the mixer, so you will have to remind yourself to charge it after you used it, but the battery life is pretty long.

From complete empty battery, it takes around two hours to charge to full. A quick charge of 10 minutes is enough to mix up a basic cake batter. The mixer is very quite, not heavy and lies easily in your hand.

I got this item for Christmas. I brought it for myself. I have used it twice since then, today I tried to use it for the third time and the motor stopped. A funny, burnt smell came from the mixer and it just stopped.

Love how compact this hand mixer is. Everything fits inside the case it comes with including the cord. This mixer comes with a new design of beaters which is a helix. It helps to mix more thoroughly and it definitely made my batter stick to them less than traditional beaters.

I also loved that this mixer was able to continue mixing large batters. I have a large family and so I usually have to double, and sometimes triple, batter. This was able to mix it all without burning out the motor.

It has a more powerful, but controlled first speed which helps slowly mix batter without flinging it everywhere. All items are dishwasher safe and were easy to clean. This would be a great house warming gift or even a bridal shower gift.

I am really excited and happy that I was able to try the 5-speed hand mixer. I am very impressed on how well this product works and how great it mixes. I have used it a few times already for baking since I have recieved it, and I it one of the best mixers I have ever used.

The mixer itself feels nice in my hand while holding it to mix, it has a strong capability to mix cookie dough and even cake mixes. The mixer is made very well and I see that it will definitely last me a long time based on the durability that it has presented.

The attachments are also nice, different shapes and very easy to attach to the mixer and to also remove. I am very impressed and would definitely recommend this awesome mixer.

I just needed a hand mixer that would do the basic functions reliably. It appears this mixer will do that, and more, but only time and usage will show how it holds up to the tasks. The description here says 400w but the box says 300w for the 240v version.

No wattage is listed for the 120v model I got. All I care about is whether the motor can handle a load and still keep doing the job. I created a physical load on the beaters that caused the mixer to slow down slightly from full speed, but the motor continued running well without excessive heat buildup.

There are run-time limits listed in the instructions that I will try to follow. I doubt those time will create any real life problems with the uses I anticipate. If I needed a constant use mixer, I’d use a full counter sized KitchenAid mixer, which is overkill for most of what I need.

This hand mixer is relatively light and easy and convenient to use. The addition of dough hooks and a whisk is nice, although I have never mixed heavy breads with any hand mixer and would think that load would present difficulties for anything smaller than a full sized counter mixer.

All the attachments and the cord fit well in the clear container that the mixer sits on/in for storage. There is even a slot for the cord to make the fit perfect. There is a lot of plastic in the mixer, including the sockets where the attachments are inserted.

That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I will be interested to see whether that will affect the the longevity of the mixer. The runout on the attachments is not perfect, but it’s not bad either. There is some wobble along the same lines as with many hand mixers.

I don’t think it will affect the function. The eject button releases the attachments well and they are not difficult to insert. The 5 speeds are adequate for all my needs. The turbo function increases all the speeds except number 5 which seems to be the highest speed the mixer can generate.

I like the turbo button for a temporary speed boost. This isn’t the greatest hand mixer I’ve ever used, but so far it appears to be a good value for the money that will do all the common mixing functions will for a reasonable price.

That’s everything I wanted, and the mixer came with some extras too. Nice!.

Wanted to love this hand mixer. Nice color, swivel cord, good price, reliable brand. I had to replace my old, basic Kitchenaid 5-speed hand mixer, KHM5APWH7, which finally gave out (one of the beaters broke).

Because that mixer had worked so well, I figured I’d just buy another Kitchenaid 5-speed mixer. Unfortunately, Kitchenaid tweaked the design so that it’s now uncomfortable to use. The handle is wider, the mixer feels heavier, and the balance of weight might be different.

It’s just not ergonomic and is unpleasant to use. After just a couple minutes of mixing cookie batter, my wrist and forearm were tired and strained. Imagine how bad it will be after 10 minutes of whipping heavy cream or meringue.

Power-wise, I like the slow low speed, so that butter doesn’t go flying everywhere. The highest speed isn’t super powerful, but I was used to that with the older model, and I seldom use speed 5 anyway.

I don’t know why they changed the design. These are not improvements. Don’t fix what ain’t broke. I’m trying to decide whether to return it. I’m not sure the discomfort is worth the money. I just may look for a used version of the old model that served me well for so many years.

I have big lips thanks to genetics, but they’ve been quite chapped and shriveled due to the cold. You can feel the plumping agent but it isn’t painful like other plumping lip products. Im actually very sensitive to plumping agents and this is a nice warming slight tingling sensation.

I got 2 colors and this is the one I tried on first. Just take care not to click it all the way up and only click up what you need and your packaging won’t have a huge mess. If my big lips don’t cause the packaging to become a huge mess, with a little bit of care yours shouldn’t either.

The reason it doesn’t click down is because of how emollient the product is, it wouldn’t click down without a huge mess and messing up the product, the packaging makes sense. It was the girl who complained about this not being some crazy high shine formula with a picture of her frowning that actually sold me on this product, I didn’t want something crazy shiny.

I do like the shine and the sparkle in the formula isn’t crazy noticeable. Overall I really enjoy this and I’d suggest it if you’re thinking about it.

Don’t waste your money. Bought this a year ago, six months in it broke. Walmart was great and replaced it even though it was over their 90 days guarantee time. Today, Thanksgiving, I pull it out to do my mashies, it’s dead.

I only use it when I make mashed potatoes, and I only make them 2 or 3 times a month. Absolute garbage.

I’m so happy I found a electric mixer that doesn’t act like it has a jet engine. I had a hand held Betty Crocker mixer that I bought over 30 years ago and one of the beater’s started falling out so I bought a different one and it’s awful even on the lowest setting its crazy ! I’m just so happy I found this it’s perfect for a replacement of my old Betty Crocker mixer this actually has a low setting 🎉.

Not much power. Had to use turbo feature just to mash potatoes. All 7 speeds are about the same. Can’t imagine mixing bread dough with it. Beaters seem wobbly. Not easy to remove.

This mixer is a cooks dream!! Cordless that actually holds a charge long enough!! The cord is the biggest part of my struggle with my mixer and this solves all those problems!! No cord, no worries!! The battery last my about six uses and I’m talking making whipped cream, so not a small job each time! I love how easy it is to use and how comfortable it is to hold!!.

I love that this one is rechargeable and cordless. I hate when the cord gets in the way while you are mixing. The only caveat I will say is it doesn’t seem as powerful as a corded kind. Would still recommend this one.

Older model and definitely not as fast or strong as some of the newer models on the market. Has lasted over a decade though so definitely worth the money.

This is the best product for using and I’ve been using this few years now. I love using it for baking cakes and bread. It’s very light weight and can be sorted easily. It’s affordable price and they do last you long time.

It has a turbo speed which is great for lifting the base crumbs or flour. Also the fact when your making genesis cake.

I attempted to use this product one time to make some cookies. However, after turning it off to scrape down the sides of the bowl, it would not turn back on. Having read that the product can overheat (apparently after only one minute of beating time? I digress), I unplugged it and left it off for a couple minutes and continued mixing by hand.

After plugging it in, I attempted to turn it back on again to no avail. I tried several times using multiple outlets, and there was nothing. The potentially useful “hairdryer” heating effect would still activate when pressing its button, but the mixer was dead.

So let’s say you find one that works. There are still a couple design flaws that should make you reconsider this purchase. This thing is very bulky. The heating element portion seems to sit underneath the part of the hand mixer with the motor for the beaters.

The beaters, which aren’t very long, then have to go through the blow dryer section to connect to the motor section, leaving them quite short. If you are using even a moderately deep mixing bowl, there is a good chance the beaters won’t make it to the bottom of that bowl.

The idea of softening butter with a blast of hot air was a good one. In execution, though, the innovation adds weight while taking away usability. For this product, it’s a fail.

I was so excited when I bought this. I bake alot and love the heat to soften butter and cream cheese. WORKED amazingly- well for a few months- then one of the metal beaters broke-simpley one piece of the beater came apart from the main stem.

I called and emailed over and over to the company- finally they said they would send me a replacement- well they sent me a WHOLE new mixer- all of it. So great. now I have one mixer that with only 1 beater.

anyways this christmas the heat unit stopped working- it was only about 8 months old. I can still use it but no more heat. So I got out the brand new one they replaced it with. BUT like another commenter said- the beater will NOT stay in.

This mixer gets the job done, but I have to agree with some previous reviews on here. I used my mixer for the first time this Thanksgiving to make a cake and while the heat soft technology DID make the process easier vs waiting for butter and cream cheese to soften, I was taken off guard by just HOW FAST & POWERFUL only level 1 was when mixing my cake ingredients up.

it is a bit much to the point I have to readjust my grip on the handle or use both hands to make sure the tornado like setting doesn’t make me drop my mixer lol. I agree as well that one of the mixer attachments usually takes several attempts or slight hits to get it in securely for it to stay; hurts your hand doing this more than once (very hard metal) & can be frustrating if you truly are in a hurry.

Besides those small issues, I still like my mixer, but Oster may need to rethink those speed levels before it causes a mess in someone’s kitchen LOL.

I get very emotional about my mixers. We got one for our wedding& it lasted 19 yrs!!! In fact it still works just not up to my standards. I bought a inexpensive mixer no name brand around Christmas each time i used it on the lowest speed, let’s just say cleaning up after everything was flung across the whole kichen& the cleanup took longer than the whole baking experience.

I just don’t like to use my big Kitchen Aid for smaller mixing & slower start ups. I trashed the “new” one and bought my Cuisinart hand mixer. It arrived within a day & I used it immediately after putting the beaters thru soapy water.

I was ready for a big mess of confectionary sugar but WALLAH! This wonderful mixer started at such a nice slow start I was hooked within the first 10 seconds!! It has a heavy duty motor that will do from fine to heavy duty mixing.

I had read some people having trouble keeping it standing upright. All you have to do is easily swival the cord the way you are setting it down& no problem. I think being ambidextrous helps. The cord is not a problem.

The beaters are nice& large not puney ones. If you don’t buy this particular mixer you will certainly be missing out greatly! Buyer be happy!.

Lots to like about this mixer, I exchanged it for one that was much heavier. This has a little weight, not impossible even with arthritis. Everything is well-thought out and designed. Longer beaters with no center post.

Dough hooks, wisk and attachment for soups or smoothies. It is SO quiet, even on the higher speeds. Starts on a very low speed and the digital display shows clearly what speed you are on. On/off works very smoothly and mixer goes back to default of 1.

No surprises when you resuming mixing. If I could change one thing it would be the cloth bag to store everything. Would much prefer an hard case as my house is old and dusty. May look for a case or see if Cuisinart has one I could purchase separately.

I’m happy thus far with this mixer. It’s fairly priced and works well. I needed additional space on my counter and purchased this so I could put my KitchenAid mixer elsewhere. I haven’t used it for cookie batter, just cake batter and mashed potatoes (did a fantastic job), but I wasn’t looking for a heavy-duty hand mixer anyway; therefore, it will not be a problem if it doesn’t have enough power for thicker batters.

It’s difficult to even find an egg beater. This one is sturdier than others I have purchased. I’m washing by hand simply because other egg beaters I have had in the past quickly deteriorate going through the dishwasher.

I purchased model BHM 800 in Silver April 25th, 2021 from Amazon because it received rave reviews from several trusted sources. I loved everything about it, until, as has happened with many other users, the silicone coating came off the beaters–I found chunks in my cookie dough.

The replacement beaters are listed as out of stock, and other customers on Amazon’s reviews said they were offered a replacement mixer. The mixer is FINE. I wish they had beaters available without the silicone, and barring that, it would be nice to have a source of replacements with the silicone, so I could replace them as needed.

I paid the most money for this mixer that I’ve ever paid for one, and have used it fewer than 30 times, each time washing the beaters by hand. It’s extremely frustrating that I now have a mixer I cannot use, because the beaters are shedding into my food, and no replacements can be found.

This one flaw ruins every other wonderful thing about the mixer, because I can’t enjoy any of them without usable beaters.

We love Breville appliances and have a kitchen full of them. So when we wanted to upgrade our hand mixer we didn’t even shop we just ordered the Breville. It works great and my wife loves it except for 1 maddening aspect.

The beaters have some goofy rubber coating and after only a few weeks (and only hand washing) we noticed little dark flecks in a cake batter. After closer inspection the rubber on the beaters had started breaking up into our food.

Gross. We called Breville and they sent us replacements and the same thing happened in under a month. We called again and they said sorry nothing we can do. So crazy that we have 10 Breville appliances we love and just one experience like this and now we will be shopping for other options next time we need a kitchen appliances.

Come on Breville…make a regular metal beater set that will fit!.

First let me say that I paid far more than I should have to replace my hand mixer. I did it for 2 reasons. One, was a phenomenal review I had read and two, was because it was beautiful in the blue. Thinking how happy it would make me as I pulled it out to use it, I just shut my eyes and went for it! That being said, it does not look like what is online; the black parts and the blue parts run together as one! NO deep beautiful blue to be seen! The mixer (and what counts) is incredible.

I used it last night for the first time and a dip that I have made for years took on a whole new texture! I was even able to use the whipped cream without takeing the time for it to even reach room temperature! My dip was done in no time.

Although heavier than any hand mixer I have ever had, I loved that about it! In conclusion, what I don’t like is spending (what to me) a lot of money, going to leave a review and seeing multiple “I got this free”.

Bought this to replace my last Dualit hand mixer which lasted 14 years – cable has finally split. Had problems with previous one’s cable wind-up jamming occasionally, but always managed to resolve this.

This one seems lighter, perhaps slightly less powerful? Looks smart – shiny plastic is certainly better than the matt plastic of the previous one, which got stained and mouldy, though it makes the handle a bit slippery.

Speeds seem better ‘paced’ than the last one – doesn’t spit everywhere quite as much. The major limitation is not being able to use any of the beaters for any length of time, especially the dough hooks and whisk.

I have found this is particularly problematic when making meringues, and with bread dough. But it hasn’t stopped me using it – on the whole a useful little machine.

Had been eyeing this product for some time – but it went out of stock and had to look elsewhere. Got an email confirming back in stock so grabbed this version quickly. Looks so stylish, easy to use, not very heavy but just right.

The ability for the lead to retract back makes storage easy, then again so well made and good looking you might want to leave it on display. The supplied attachments are fab too. Recommend this.

This Dualit is hard work, heavy, unwieldy and with some silly features. The beaters are a pain to install, as each one can only be located in the correct hole. Even then they tend to fall out in use.

Messy. The retracting cable is again unwieldy and hard work. To retract it fully requires an awful lot of hard hand twisting. This mixer is over-designed and overpriced.

I bake several times each week and suffer from arthritis so cannot always hand mix eggs or cream etc. With this little mixer I can easily prepare eggs to go into cakes or whip cream to fill even on days where my arthritis makes everything difficult.

These little mixers are a pleasure to use and an absolute godsend. I wouldn’t be without mine. Very easy to use, pretty to look at and very good value for money.

This hand mixer replaced my previous Dualit, which had given me excellent service for 9 years, with weekly use. So it made sense to buy and invest in another Dualit handmixer. The upgraded model is less noisy, and has a smooth mix action.

Very sturdy, and fingers crossed it should last as long as my previous Dualit handmixer.

I am so glad this (5KHMB732) cordless hand mixer exists. KitchenAid is a wonderful brand, a really beautiful design and a real beauty in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we only have 2 sockets in the kitchen in an illogical place.

Ideal that it is cordless and we can use it where-ever we want. What I immediately noticed when I unpacked the hand mixer was that there are only 2 stainless steel turbo beaters and no other attributes, which is a shame.

I hope they wil be available for purchase separately later on. I immediately charged the mixer before use. I started making merenques with my daughter. There are 7 different positions on it which is very nice.

The mixer fits well in the hand and is easy to hold even though it weighs more than 1 kg. It’s so handy that you don’t have to mess with a cord and electricity. After use, press the big black button and the turbo beaters come loose so that they can be cleaned.

You can easily store the mixer or leave it in the kitchen, because it is nice enough for that. I am very satisfied with it and we will continue to use it a lot.

I was able to test the Kitchen Aid wireless hand mixer for a few weeks. Design When unpacking, you immediately notice that you are dealing with quality. We have been able to test the matte black version and I have to be honest if I think it’s a nice device.

Because of the matte black color, you almost seem no stains and fingerprints. The mixer fits nicely in your hand and is of a perfect size. Even the children (3, 5 and 9 years) are happy to lend a hand with the cookies that are baked.

This all goes without a hitch. Usage This is really a breeze. Just click the beaters into the mixer and off you go. The device is equipped with 7 positions. The lowest setting (soft start) is great because that way you start slowly and do not shoot everything out of your batter.

Once started, you can operate and adjust the speed with just 1 hand. With children in the house, this certainly comes in handy. This has been seriously considered. In addition, the mixer is also very quiet.

Our previous mixer was a wired one with a hard sound so that you can hardly understand each other anymore. KitchenAid’s mixer is wonderfully quiet which is really a plus. The biggest plus is and remains that it is wireless.

Wonderful if you don’t have to worry about a cord if the children want to help. You are also a lot more mobile. This is something you’ll only notice when you experience it. Battery The battery has an excellent capacity.

After the mixer was fully charged, we baked pancakes for a whole family, made cake batter, baked cupcakes and whipped various eggs. Fully charging the battery from 0 to 100% takes approximately 2 hours.

The battery indicator shows with colors how much power is still present. In our house next to this hand mixer we also have another heavy machine stand for dough kneading. This one has a lot of power and is fully automatic what is desired with dough.

For everything else we just grab the KitchenAid. The mixer is really very good and a welcome addition to our household as we like to be busy in the kitchen.

When I saw the beaters that came with it, I thought “they appear very cheap”. HOWEVER. I only wanted a mixer for cake batters, and maybe cookies or whipping cream. I was amazed at. how light it was,, not heavy at all! It will sit right next to your mixing bowl and not fall over! It was a delight to be able to mix my cake mix! SUPER easy to use and I love the storage of the beaters so they do not get lost! IF you need a more sturdy beater you can always order it.

(Info on the manual included). It comes with 1 whisk attachment and I have not used that, I imagine that would work for whipping cream. The only issue was that in the manual, it does not say what the marking on the bottom is for.

I assume that the single picture side on the bottom by the beater holes is for the whisk attachment. It’s a great blender for basic things.

Great affordable hand mixer. I purchased it at Macy’s on sale for $21. Cons: 1. ITS HEAVY – your arms will be sore from holding this up. 2. The beater attachments WILL RUST if you leave them in water.

It’s better to wash them right away, dry, then store. Asides from those, it’s a powerful beater and has lasted me about 2 years (still going strong) with continuous use.

I have been using the Hamilton Beach – 6 Speed hand mixer for about a month, and so far I have been impressed. This is quite powerful, as I used to prepare the mix for cakes. The burst mood is a really useful feature.

Besides for some application when you want to to be slow, you can choose the lowest speed which is also something very important for me. The setup comes with a box on its back that perfectly fits the blades.

I strongly recommend reading the instructions carefully before the first time you use it to avoid any confusion.

Worst Mixer I’ve Ever Used! This mixer has 5 speeds and they are all HIGH. There is no low or slow. It’s crap! If you put it on the lowest setting (1) your cake batter is everywhere unless you use a very deep bowl.

I had a 40 year old black and decker mixer and it was so much better than this garbage. Very disappointed. Don’t wast you money on this mixer. I would have sent it back, but I didn’t use it right away after purchase, and when I finally did use it for the first time, it was too late to return it.

I’ll donate it and buy another brand. And I’ll be sure to test immediately.

Ok, this is going to be pretty niche here to start with! But I am a natural henna artist, and I mix my henna paste at home from organic materials before events. I used to hand mix with a spoon and a bowl and it would often take hours to get it perfectly smooth.

I’d end up with a tendinitis flare up, as well as a sore wrist and elbow. My husband talked me into getting this hand mixer and WOW! What took hours to mix by hand to a smooth paste now takes me less than five minutes! Talk about a game changer! It also works well for mixing things like mousse, and basic baking batters.

So far the mixer is working as expected and I like it. However, from the picture, I was under the impression that there was a separate button to release the beaters. I had to replace my previous hand mixer because the same button that determines the speed also served as the release button for the beaters.

I couldn’t get the button to release the beaters and there’s no way to open the mixer to fix the problem. So I was specifically looking for a mixer that had a separate button for releasing the beaters.

I thought this one did; it does not. The release function on this mixer is currently working correctly — but then so did the last mixer’s release function. I wish the information about the mixer had been clearer about the release function.

However, I like the mixer, and the release function is working well for now.

I’ve had this for 3 months now, and I’m not a fan. I have a stand mixer for most things, so I mostly use the hand mixer for mashed potatoes, and this hand mixer does not do that well. I feel like the coated beaters might work well with a runny batter, but when it comes to something with some density to it like potatoes it makes a HORRIBLE mess.

I guess traditional metal beaters cut into the potatoes easier, and these ones just seem to push the potatoes around. it literally flings potatoes everywhere. I’ve tried cutting my potatoes smaller and that helps some, but is a nuisance.

I end up using the beaters (with the mixer off) to smash the potatoes, turn the mixer on for a few passes around the bowl, turn off mixer, smash some more, repeat. I haven’t tried to cream butter with it but I assume it would do the same then.

As far as the speed, I can’t go past 1, once the potatoes are fully mashed using the steps above I can turn it to 2. What could you possibly need a mixer that goes THAT fast for? I can’t imagine what the higher speeds do! All in all, I’ll be buying a new one with traditional beaters and donating this one.

After 15 years with my current Hamilton Beach mixer, it was time for an upgrade. The new Hamilton Beach Professional 7 speed hand mixer is amazing. This mixer has extreme power to get through even the toughest cookie dough! It comes complete with the 2 standard beaters, 2 dough hooks (love them) 2 soft scrapers and a whisk attachment all in a secure plastic case that attaches to the base of the mixer itself.

I am loving the speed options on this, from #1 – to get my egg whites started to #7 for that thick dough. The LED speed is easily recognized through a window on top of the mixer. It’s not heavy to handle and the power function and grip is perfect.

The quick burst option at every speed makes quick work of my recipes. The cord is swivel which I truly appreciate, no more getting it twisted around my hand or bowl. The mixer is easy to wipe down and the beaters are dishwasher safe.

I love this Hamilton Beach Professional 7 hand mixer and highly recommend it to everyone.

I received the Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Hand Mixer with Case, and was able to try it out this weekend. I was able to try all of the attachments, by whipping heavy cream and egg whites, mixing cookie dough and cake batter, and mixing a glass of chocolate milk.

First, the unit itself is light enough to handle with one hand while still feeling sturdy. The speed control button is easy to maneuver while in use, and the power burst button comes in handy for when you need that last extra “burst of speed” to complete whipping cream.

The dough hooks, beaters, whisk and milk shake attachments are all solidly made, and attach to the mixer firmly – nothing shakes loose when in use. Having 6 speeds plus the power burst makes fast work of blending ingredients.

Cleaning the attachments and the blender was easy. The addition of the snap on case for all the attachments is a great convenience – everything is in one place, and it doesn’t take up much space. Overall, I would say that this mixer would be great to use if you have small or large baking jobs, or just need to quickly mix or whip ingredients.

I would recommend this product for use in any kitchen.

My old Kenwood mixer died after many years. I looked at all the super duper models in branch and they were all very heavy and expensive. This Kenwood is extremely light to hold and has several improvements on my old one.

The additional speeds are great so mixing buttercream on the lowest setting does not send up puffs of smoke. There are also additional beaters for heavy duty mixing and/or bread making. I haven’t used them yet but will be handy.

For the price you simply cannot beat good old Kenwood. A fabulous product at a fabulous price. Thoroughly r3vommemd.

I’d like to give 0 starts if possible but not an option. For me this item is utterly useless. It can only be used for 3 mins (heavy mixing) or 6 mins (light) before it has to rest for 15mins. Unbelievable.

I’ve never had a mixer that couldn’t keep going for the 10 mins needed to make meringues. Nor have I ever had a mixer that needed to rest ! Speechless. The instruction leaflet in top of the box very clear (photo uploaded) so the mixer never made it out of the box.

Unfit for any purpose other than whipping cream as far as I’m concerned. Very annoying that this is not clear in the description before ordering. Yet another return, John Lewis product quality seriously lacking these days.

In a panic to get a new inexpensive mixer. Read many reviews for a range of products The cheaper end of the market reviews all said the same. Flimsy, whisks bent, two many speeds with not enough difference between them.

In desperation purchased this. Though recondition felt the brand gave it some starter points ! Well all I can say us its fab ! Sturdy, solid little machine that does everything I need it to. The slight draw back is that the slowest speed may be too fast for a professional.

It has 5 speeds, and I would tend to agree with reviews for similar machines. 3 speeds are enough. Slow, medium and fast ! But for me, it’s great !.

I chose this hand mixer because of the range of speed settings it has. My previous hand mixer was too fast on the lowest setting, throwing the ingredients out of the bowl, but this one is gentle on its lowest setting and the speed is easy to increase and regulate by simply rotating the switch while using.

It is also very efficient on its turbo setting. It is nice to handle, not too heavy and not too noisy. I also like the style and shape of the beaters, which mix evenly and smoothly. I haven’t used the dough hooks yet.

I asked the assistant in the store if she would plug in several hand mixers so I could test the speeds, as this was very important to me. This proved very useful and helped me make the decision that this was the one for me!.

I have been using this whisk for a few weeks now and it has become a very well used kitchen appliance. The whisk function cannot be faulted; I have made quite a few cakes and whisked up egg whites perfectly every time.

The user is able to gradually increase the speed at their own rate, without the need to use preselected speeds, and the highest speed is quite powerful. I also found the dough hooks brilliant. I’ve never used these before and was amazed at the ease at which the hooks cut through the dough, saving me much time and effort! The parts are easy to clean, with the actual blender being wipe clean only for obvious reasons.

The actual mixer is larger than I usually use, which posed no problems for me but might cause some for others with dexterity issues. I think it is a shame that you do not get a blender attachment included, although this and a chopper attachment can be bought separately, which I will certainly do in the future.

This product is highly recommended when all it’s functions are used. The hand mixer attachments consisting of dough hooks and whisks were great. The number of speeds and the shape of the whisks made us a great sponge mix which I would highly recommend.

The unit is bigger than most hand mixers I have used, presumably due to the ability to transform into a hand blender and a food chopper with further attachments. I found the dial used to change the speed a little more difficult with greasy hands however the variety of speeds did more than make up for this.

The further attachments would all have an additional cost and are not included with this product but they are fully detailed in the instructions if you want to know more before purchasing. Overall I would see this being an item purchased by someone wanting to use all of its functions or someone needing a more substantial heavy duty hand mixer.
