20 Best Hairspray For Wedding Hair (2023 Updated)

For many, many years I have used the Consort Men’s Aerosol hair spray and loved it. A few months ago i realized that i was getting low on it and found it almost impossible to find either at all, or at reasonable prices.

I then decided that I might try the Consort non-aerosol hair spray so that at least I would have something to use. When I got home I tried it the next day and was disappointed. The spray is too thick and wide.

As such, it gets all over one’s hand when spraying and it is too wet. By comparison the aerosol is a fine spray that can be controlled, covers better and holds how I want it to. Thinking that the aerosol version may never come back, I purchased several bottles of the non-aerosol, which I now regret.

Why? Not only because it is just not as good a product as the aerosol, but I recently was able to get a reasonable supply of the aerosol locally, which should hold me (no pun intended) for a while and hopefully the supply chain issues for it, if that is what is behind its lack of availability, will improve for all users.

Like a lot of guys, I need just a little something to keep my hair in place when going out somewhere that I like to look sharp, well-groomed. I don’t care for all the gels, etc. There are a million of them.

But they don’t work for me. They leave my hair matted and looking wet. They’re OK for certain hair styles, and younger guys. But I am older an look stupid with a bunch of gel in my hair. I have used this hairspray for years.

It is light, invisible, never soaks your hair giving it that wet-look in certain areas. Just spray it on, and you’re done. Can you feel it if you touch your hair gently? Yes, of course. It has to be strong enough to hold your hair in place.

If you are looking for something like what I have described above, I suggest you try a can. Once you do, like me, you will probably come back and save money by buying a 4-pack like this! Paul Texas.

Been using for a long time but sometimes it’s not available in drug stores or grocery. Therefore, I ordered online and got a better deal buying a greater quantity. It works good on my hair (what’s left of it) and the hold usually lasts the better part of a day.

To re-style, I just moisten my brush and brush my hair to my liking. I might or might not re-spray. I recommend Consort Hair Spray for Men.

I have been using this product for over 6 years. My hairdresser recommended it because I have baby fine hair. Also, I live in a high humidity state. This hairspray/gel is awesome stuff. It does block humidity and keeps hair in place without being sticky or stiff and yet it brushes out easily.

Husband also uses it. When I do buy it I buy in bulk (3 or more cans) because I never want to run out. I hope this company continues to make this product. Do not know what we (our hair) would do without it.

I might add I have recommended it to others including another hairdresser. Others are using it also and the hairdresser is actually selling it in her shop.

This product works best for my hair type. I have baby fine thin hair this product does not weigh it down and it does not feel sticky or stiff. I am able to use it to style as well. Wouldn’t do without it.

However it is pricy.

I love GK Hair, Stromg Hold Spray’s Fiber. I have been using it for over 7 years now. – It provides a natural matte look (as opposed to the “wet hair” look of gels and pomades). Just use a small amount (I use more than a pea size – about two small peas) and warm it up by rubbing your palms together.

Then play and style your hair with your palms, as you desire. If you want, you can always add some more. Don’t over-do it, though; it won’t look natural. – If you want a slightly sleek look, you can moisten your hair lightly and then apply the wax.

But the product provides almost zero hold with damp hair. – Since you will be using a tiny amount, the puck-sized can will last you about 4-6 months (depending on your usage). – It is not water-proof, which I like.

This means that I don’t need to shampoo my hair to get it out of my hair. – You can get rid of it from your palms and fingers by simply washing with water and soap. – If you run your hands through your hair later during the day, it doesn’t “stick” to your hand; I like that.

– In the can, the wax is quite soft and is not tough like mustache waxes (which require you to run them under hot water to soften the wax, or use a blow-dryer to soften the wax in the can). It is not fluid-like and won’t fall or move even if you keep the can upside-down at normal temperatures.

– I love its lemon-sage scent; it is subtle and not over-powering. It doesn’t smell nasty like so many other hair products filled with mostly artificial ingredients. – It works best with very short and short hair (up to 2.

5 inches). You can style the hair any way you want and it will maintain its shape. You can lay it down or spike it up or try a short pomp. If you want a more “fuller” look, ask your barber or stylist to add “texture” to your hair (this means, they will either thin it with thinning shears or a razor, or point cut it at an angle to give it a “choppiness”.

With choppy hair, the Fiber will work really well in giving a fuller look). – It provides a strong hold for short hair (not screaming strong hold, though). – With longer hair, it is sometimes a challenge.

Laying it down works best for long hair; but if you want to spike your longer hair up, this will not work. It is not meant to, so I don’t blame it. – My hair is mostly straight, but gets slightly wavy when over 3 inches (at which point, I get it cut shorter and then can use Fiber).

– It does not work for styling your mustache. Again, it is not meant to, so I don’t blame it. I tried it, but it failed miserably in achieving a handlebar mustache. – Is it the best hair product out there for a matte look? Definitely not! There are many others which provide stronger hold and work on longer hair as well.

But still, Fiber does the job really well in its category and I still use it because it works well with my hair. To sum up: good matte look providing, water-proof lemon-sage smelling hair wax for short hair up to 2.

I’ve been using this hair molding cream for about 8 years. I first discovered the more expensive name brand version of the “fibre” cream but it became more difficult to find and I stumbled upon this cheaper version which is every bit as good but is cheaper.

PROS:It does a great job holding shape while still looking dry. I have to use it when my hair is just slightly damp or it’s way too hard to use. Other molding creams I’ve tried either leave the hair looking wet (and thus darken the color) or aren’t strong enough to give a messed up look and the hair starts wilting.

If you use it when your hair is still set it will keep the darkened color of your wet hair (if you are blonde like me, anyway). I assume if that’s what you want then you wouldn’t get a product that’s supposed to have a dry look.

CONS:It doesn’t age very well, so after about a month or so it gets hard to use. It’s really dry and you have to scoop some on your hands and rub it in your hands to get an even coating on your fingers, but that doesn’t happen very well.

Instead it stays in clumps which you often have to pick out of your hair. There will be some parts of your hair that have too much and other parts that don’t have enough which is annoying. you have to really try to make it as even as you can which isn’t easy.

It’s hard to get off your hands so you have to wash your hands quite a bit which is also annoying. WARNING: Do not let it get warm! Keep it in moderate temperatures or it will melt. And when it melts it changes the chemical composition and the materials separate which you can’t undo.

I left a brand new tin in my car thinking it wasn’t hot enough to melt it, but I was wrong. I ended up having to buy a brand new one. 🙁 This is the second or third time this has happened over the years I’ve been using it.

This has been my go-to pomade/styling cream for about a decade now. I have tried a few others from Aveda, Fat Hair, Mitch, Paul Mitchell, and others that I can’t remember. I always come back to this.

I have also tried the other pomades from GK Hair, Stromg Hold Spray and found that they just don’t suit my hair well. Fiber doesn’t have any shine and my hair never looks like it has any product in it — a very natural look.

It does tend to make hair look fuller and “clumpy”, if that makes sense. The hold is moderate; if you need additional hold, you might want a quick spritz of hair spray afterward. When it gets really humid or wet, I find it still holds but not as well as hair spray can.

I will caution you that if you use this product and sweat profusely, or routinely get soaking wet, it can run down your forehead a bit and cause breakouts. You should also exercise caution when applying it, because if you’re sloppy and get it on your forehead you can bet on a few whiteheads there the next day.

Seriously though, use this stuff sparingly. My hair is quite short (1 in. or less, typically) and I use a pea-sized amount for my whole head. I read a lot of complaints here about how someone hair felt very oily and sticky after using this, to which I would say that you overused the product.

Even with daily use, this 3 oz. tub lasts me 6 months or longer. Also, when applying, be sure to rub it into your hands for a few seconds to activate it and ensure you don’t get a big clump of it into your hair.

Using it sparingly also means it will rinse very easily. Overuse is pretty obvious — if you run your hands through your hair (or get a lady-friend to), your hands will feel waxy.

I purchased Texture Takeover and Flex Reflect. Both smell amazingly yummy! I also love that they are very lightweight and don’t leave that sticky feeling to your hair. When spraying Texture Takeover, at first it’s great.

It really defines my layers and gives volume. Then I usually follow up with Flex Reflect. However, as soon as I go outside everything falls flat. I’ve tried using both products on my wet hair AND dry hair, but it still does the same thing.

I’m not sure if this is because I have thick hair or what. Maybe I need to try the Style Stay since that is for a more firm hold. I will still keep trying!.

I have thick, coarse, slightly wavy hair. this is the secret to a lasting and fabulous blow out. you must towel dry hair and use dryer to get out some of the water after washing so it doesn’t dilute the mousse too much.

I have long hair past the middle of my back so I use the size of a baseball or a little less for my whole head. I don’t just use at roots either. I finish with a serum on the ends and a light hairspray when done then touch up throughout the week.

Always allow hair to either dry on the brush or roll it and pin it until it cools. Sometimes you need to use the blow dryer to spot dry moisture in your hair through out the week. Use the nozzle always so you don’t create frizz or fly aways.

Always make sure the roots are dry or the blow out will not hold. Use a stronger hairspray throughout the week if needed. Your style will hold if you travel to more humid climates. just remember the blow dryer trick to get moisture out and volume back.

Also use a chopstick to put your hair up so you don’t get any creases.

I have no idea how this product has 4. 8 out of 5 stars?!! I bought it because of the great reviews and was very disappointed!! I have thin and fine hair so getting my hair to hold a curl is not easy.

I’ve been using the Paul Sebastian hairspray but wanted to try something new that had great reviews. And I really don’t know how this has such great reviews?!! It made my hair look oily- which is understandable for hairspray but my hair fell before I even made it to my destination!!! I live in the south and the humidity is bad down here so finding a hairspray that hold such regardless is challenging- everyone said this one worked but that’s a lie! I literally sprayed this stuff after each curl and then a spritz at the end overall and I drove less than 15 mins down the road and I kid you not my hair was STRAIGHT when I got there- and then it was just sticky and tough- miserable!! DO NOT BUY!!!.

My stylist used this product while styling after a cut. I have about fifty different styling sprays and hair sprays. I know, I’m sure that I am not alone. My favorite has always been Chi Helmet Head for root holding and I use a medium hold for styling.

NOTHING I have used compares to my Chi strong hold hair spray but THIS spray, Masterpiece, is AMAZING! It holds without being TOO hard and it has a pleasant, fruity scent. It gives my hair a beautiful shiny and natural sheen.

It doesn’t itch my scalp or give me those dreaded flakes. It brushes out nicely and I can reactivate the hold by using a very fine water mister and lifting pick at the roots the following day. I love this spray! Make sure you hold it a good eight inches away while spraying as to not saturate the area you’re aiming for.

I take a section of hair, spray the base and then tease before it dries. I pick out and lightly smooth out for a beautiful, full and natural style. Totally recommend this spray.

This product gives a strong hold without being sticky. You can even apply with your comb to add lift when needed. Holds the same even in high humidity. I wish a size of container verity was offered including travel, regular and extra large.

This is definitely the hairspray to buy if you want to maintain your hairstyle all day. A little goes a long way and it will create stiffness which I prefer for my fine hair. Wonderful smell without it being overwhelming.

I’ve been using this instead of my tresemme strong hold hairspray as it had good reviews and it was on off 3 for 2. Been using it for about 2 months. Unfortunately I can’t say it’s a great hairspray.

Yes if you like hard hair, which looks slightly firm and greasy, then you might like this, but it doesn’t brush out, it leaves your hair extremely dry and covered in a horrible residue which you can literally pull out of the strands of hair with your fingers.

and actually pulls out some of my baby hair at the front. Which is why I’m going to get rid of the 340ml bottle I have. I wear hairspray every day for work to hold my hair against my head when it’s tied up, to keep my bouffant in place, and for a natural style when I curl the ends of my hair, but it doesn’t let my hair hold without looking clumped together.

When it’s long and wavy it tats together really easily ruining whatever style you’ve just made, and my Ghd curve wand always leave my hair soft and beautiful, so this totally ruined all the time put into doing my hair.

I’d give it 1 star but it does look slightly shiny, and it does hold. But it’s not very nice. I’m 26 so I’ve used a lot of hairspray and I am yet to find a bed head hairspray I like.

I also brought the Liss shampoo both smell devine. I towel dried my long hair after shampooing and then applied the Liss conditioner then covered my head in foil to retain heat, after 20mins I rinsed off the conditioner thoroughly and my hair felt and looked nourished and shiny.

My hair loves the keratin in products but loreal is the best and the smell is lovely made me feel I was in at the hairdressers. Great product at great price.

So after hearing review after review applauding this hair spray I decided to give it a try. I have thick, straight hair that knows what it wants and is very stubborn but this spray actually changes my hair type, you can do anything and I mean anything with it from messy to curly to parted and it works amazing with hair creams, pastes or puttys.

It smells amazing and washes out very easily and can also be reworked even a day after. The hold is medium but personally my hair doesnt even flinch when its in. The can is huge as well so lasts a while but youll be using this everyday so it wont last Overall 55 from me and I cant see myself trying a different hair spray any time soon and I have medium length hair, incredible stuff.

The only hairspray I will use Absolutely amazing I love the scent, like most Fudge products smells amazing the scent lasts. It is slightly pricier for hairspray but at the same time it lasts. Its got such a mediumfirm hold that you dont need much.

It never makes my hair go hard then unmovable. It doesnt make it look wet or hair with spray either which I love. It keeps waves in my long fine hair really well.

I have used this Ultra Hold Wella Performance (two spot) Hairspray for several years now, since first being aware of it when visiting my hairdresser. It gives a good hold to my fine hair, and brushes/washes out well, and it’s not ‘sticky’.
