20 Best Hairspray For Curling Iron (2023 Updated)

I was so excited to be chosen to try the new TRESEMME TEXTURE COMPRESSED MICRO MIST HAIR SPRAY HOLD LEVEL 1 from ChickAdvisor for free in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions. Tresemme is a brand that is not new to me.

I have used their products in the past and have always thought of them as a leader in the hairspray industry. I was so excited that they decided to come out with the micro mist line as I actually used to use their chubby green can of hairspray religiously for YEARS up until a couple years ago when I started travelling more and opted for other brands with smaller and sleeker cans.

So happy that they decided to switch it up and introduce a skinny and ergonomically advantageous can! Aside from being obviously smaller, the micro mist line also contains 50% less gas than the regular cans for a superfine ‘micro mist’ spray.

This product was so easy to use especially because I have naturally wavy hair. I like to let my hair dry naturally and then throw some product in to help enhance my natural beach waves and curls. I followed the directions on the can; shake, spray, repeat, and voila! For me it was more of a shake, squeeze, and scrunch.

but same idea and same result! The smell is so nice and light and it’s not overpowering or chemically in the slightest. It doesn’t leave a huge fog of hairspray in the room after either. My hair did not feel crunchy or greasy and there was no obvious residue.

It definitely helped enhance my natural wave where it looked and felt natural and had tons of movement. The hold lasted all day and even after sleeping on it, it still looked awesome the next day too! It also combatted my frizz, which I was not expecting, but it was definitely a nice bonus! I have been using this product every single day since receiving it and this is definitely going to be introduced into my regular hair care lineup.

The product brands itself as a level 1 hold and it holds true to it’s claim. At $5-$6 this product is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to enhance a natural wave or curl or is simply looking for a hairspray to naturally hold and lock in their style.

This is NOT for someone who wants an intense hold or is rockin’ a complicated style. But for those who are sporting natural hair or ponytails, top knots and braids. you will love this!.

I’ve used Tresemme hair products for years now including their line of original hair sprays, I always loved them however they were the worst for trying to travel (unless you got travel size) or just generally taking up way to much counter space, however the micro mist I adore the size of it, it’s more compact but still the same great product and the packaging is just the cutest, I love purple/pink detail.

I was sent the level 2, smooth which was fantastic as I want my hair to be held in place, but the texture to still be smooth and invisible, and it did just that!. It held up great for around 3 hours which is a lot longer than most hair sprays do for me, I have hair that is VERY long and VERY heavy so it usually is to heavy and I lose any amount of effort put into it other than when straightened, but I was quiet impressed.

I really like the micro mist, another issue with regular hair sprays is that it disburses to much product at once, and way to forceful no matter how far away I held my hand, so for someone with short arms it’s awesome because it’s a great amount put out without over doing it.

I really loved that my hair kept it’s regular texture and didn’t get hard, crunchy or sticky. the packaging again is super cute, super sleek and appealing to the eye. I think the price is perfect, and would happily repurchase and recommend to anyone who uses hair spray.

I’m rating it a 4. 5, I love it and the improvements however docking 5 points simply because the scent is still wildly over powering. But I love it non the less. Thank you Chick Advisor & Tresemme for giving me this opportunity.

I received the TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray for free from TRESemmé. I use TRESemmé heat protectant spray as well as their flawless curls mousse so I was very excited to try out this new product.

I used it on the daily to help keep my baby hairs maintained, as well as using it when I would curl my hair to keep my curls long lasting! I received level 2 hold which did its job but I may use a stronger hold as the baby hairs didn’t stay down all day.

When used to hold my curls in place it did a wonderful job! The smell of this product is pleasant, I got compliments on my hair smelling “clean”. TRESemmé always has yummy fresh smelling products. Although, I didn’t notice any long-lasting scent which is good for me because I like my perfume to be my focal smell.

The texture of this product is very light, it doesn’t leave a crunchy feeling in your hair like some other hair sprays, nor does it leave it looking too shiny or greasy. I’m not sure of the price of this product since I received it for free but the canister has lasted a long time… I have a ton of hair so I used a lot of product especially since I got it in the mail to make sure I could do an honest review.

A week of daily use it still has a ton of product left which leads me to believe it will be well worth it! When I straighten or curl my hair and use this product I have been receiving compliments in which I tell people they must try the product! I would recommend to any friend or family member searching for a hair spray that will help their style last and leave their hair smelling good without the crunch! I would recommend Beyond the Zone Frozen Stiff ultimate hair spray because it is not heavy and it holds your hair exactly in place. It does not require a lot of the product so it is very economical. It has a light citrus fragrance which is unusually nice for a hair product.

It is not hard to wash out and does not leave residue. I absolutely love it !.

This is one of my 2 favorites! I love using this on my bouncy curls because it doesn’t make your hair crunchy! It helps so much with humidity and holds my hair in place with a fantastic fragrance! I love it and highly recommend!.

I love buying this product! My whole family uses this hairspray. It doesn’t leave a white residue. I have been using this hairspray for years now. I have 0 complaints.

Gives me a slight hold without adding a crusty layer. I’m no hair connoisseur but I want the front to woosh out and not woosh back. This achieves that well. I have very thick hair and a lot of it. I think this would also be good as a light layer of protection before going out.

It’s a big can. Have no idea about how long it’ll last but it smells good.

This hairspray gives the perfect soft touchable hold. It gives beautiful light form to the hair. I always keep a couple cans on hand and one mini size in my travel kit. I keep a bottle at work too in case I need a quick mid day volume lift.

Best of all, it does NOT build up on the hair no matter how many times you use it. And like every R&Co product it smells amazing!.

I’ve always really struggled with my curls keeping their hold even though I pin them up after using a curling wand or my straighteners. I was really looking forward to using this – anything to make the effort and time of curling hair last! You spray it on dry hair and it’s acts as a heat protector and styling primer.

The spray mist is fine so it doesn’t make your hair too wet, I waited a little to make sure it was definitely dry before using and hot tools. I curled my hair as normal and pinned them for 30 mins. I didnt used my GHD hairspray to see how well this really helped curls hold.

The curls had great definition, and they lasted the whole day (falling out slightly come the evening as you’d expect). It definitely helped them last longer, although you could feel slightly there was something on your hair, almost like you had used hairspray before curling your hair.

It might be trial and error to use the right amount but overall I’m really pleased with how much this helped the curls hold and reduced frizz! A definite must to those who struggle keeping curly hair curly.

I love this product! I have used this mousse a few different ways now. On wet hair for a blow dry, it’s amazing, loads of bounce and volume, while keeping it looking shiny, product free and really tidy.

As I have naturally wavey hair, I like to use this product on damp hair, before bed and sleep with my hair in the towel, and I wake up to lovely waves. When I do a simple pony tail, or updo, I use a small amount of this mousse on a toothbrush to tidy up any stray strands.

and it’s great for keeping my hair in place for the day. The best thing about this product. which might show my lazy side. it’s amazing for keeping hair looking fresh between washes, without showing signs of old flakey product on the roots.

it’s amazing. Its been 4 days since I last washed my hair and it still looks fine and I’m usually having to wash it every two days. The smell is amazing. it’s a lovely light mousse, no tacky feeling and best of all.

Ive never found any product that will hold my hair in amazing curls for over 24 hours. I can get up the next day, run my fingers through and the curls are back in. Love it!! Usually my curls will start to drop during the day but after using this spray it worked wonders, my curls had more definition than before and lasted much longer and it made such a difference.

It holds your hair and protects at same time also doesn’t leave your hair feeling like it weighs a tonne stiff and definitely not “Sticky” like some products. It smells nice, nothing strong but a nice subtle fragrance).

Nice formula, not sticky or crispy. 100% recommend!.

I’ve gone through hundreds of cans of this stuff over the past 5 years. It’s an absolutely awesome product and is the best on the market. I’m writing this review because of two issues that I’ve consistently experienced over the years, that would be awesome if they could be improved and, if it is improved, this hairspray would be literally perfect.

The first one is that about 1 out of every 3 (minimum) of the cans I purchase stop working properly with around 1/2 to 1/3 of spray left in the can. I’ve tried all the tricks cleaning the nozzle, removing it, etc.

, to no avail. It will either just sputter out a bad mix of propellant and spray, or you can hear a little bit of propellant coming out, with no spray along with it. The can becomes effectively useless.

The second issue, much smaller, is the consistency between batches with regards to the fragrance (which fortunately goes away once the spray dries). One out of about every 15-20 cans will have quite a strange odor that honestly smells literally like a garbage can.

And within this past month, almost every can I purchased had a different, new strange odor that’s a bit hard to describe, but almost smells like. rotting olive oil? Again, very minor because the smell is only there when the spray is wet (or my hair gets a little wet after the spray dries), but still.

Anyway, this spray is wonderful, please keep up the great work guys, thanks for this amazing product!.

I’ve been using this spray for almost a year because I absolutely love the results. Each bottle (and I mean EVERY BOTTLE) I’ve had issues with the nozzle clogging up. I’ve used hot water, a toothbrush, soap, even rubbing alcohol to try to unclog it.

Sometimes it works for a few days, but most of the time it’s a waste. So I just watch the spray direction in my mirror as I use it to make sure I’m actually spraying my hair and not my neck or the ceiling.

As of now, this will be my very last bottle. I plan to research other brands and buy another product.

I never use hairsprays due to the stickyness they leave on the hair. I had to buy one to make my daughter’s hair for her trampoline competition. A 2 hour training didn’t mess her bun at all, although I didn’t dare to use too much first.

I the evening I was worrying how will her hair look like next day at school as we didn’t have time to wash it. I just brushed her hair and for my surprise it was soft again, not sticky or rough at all.

I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry).

Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs).

I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate “hair sprays”) except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed.

I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. I took advantage of an amazing sale on this product and am well stocked 🙂 If you are looking for a great product that works well on damp or dry hair for heat protection with some styling benefits, I would give this a try!.

I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don’t use any other hairspray after. It’s not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair.

You can’t even tell there’s hairspray in my hair after I’m done curling. I make sure to spray it about 8-10 inches away from my head so I don’t blast too much on. It has a nice fine mist so I usually don’t use a lot and a bottle lasts me a long time.

I like everything about this product. It’s super inexpensive, it works well, and it smells nice. After showering I let my hair dry a little and then start spraying and scrunching. I have naturally wavy hair and sometimes I want it to be big and curly and when I do I reach for Aussie scrunch hairspray because it’s a new find that works the best.

If you’re looking for a scrunching spray this is the one to use. Definitely recommend!.

Good looking hair doesn’t have to cost a fortune! I swear by Tresemme! I have naturally straight hair, but sometimes I want curls. Rather than damage my hair, I add Tresemme mousse and instant curls! All day hold, light, clean, fresh curls.

My hair is not stiff or sticky, my curls look natural, and my hair stays damage free! You can find Tresemme just about anywhere that hair products are sold, at an insanely good price! Great product, trustworthy company! Highly recommend!!.

I knew something happened when I couldn’t find this mousse at any stores and when I did find it (the old formula) it was way more expensive. This new one doesn’t work like the other and I can’t even find that one anywhere either! I’ve been using flawless curls for, I want to say 10 plus years maybe, and it never failed.

I even had curls the next all I had to do was wet my hands and style. Companies always changing something good or discontinuing products people love. I’m giving the new formula 2 and a half stars but the old formula is a 5.

I love this product. I have always had thicky wavy/curly hair and never knew how to take care of it. Since my curls are larger, I cannot brush product through my hair with anything other than my fingers.

To avoid knots and tangles, I’ve learned to brush my hair before entering the shower. Before I exit the shower, I apply this mousse and comb through with my fingers ends to root. Then I t-shirt dry for about 15 minutes and air dry the remaining time.

I love how this product helps with frizz and my hair is still voluminous at the end of the day. I am always getting compliments on my hair. Occasionally I will get a little crunchiness but it is easily fixed with a little play.

I spray it evenly on my freshly washed hair to help with tangles, BEFORE I put any product on my hair. I’m SO GLAD that I found this leave-in. I had run out of what I had been using. It has an amazing scent, maybe coconut, but I cane quite tell.

There isn’t much that’s NOT great about it, I other than the price maybe, ( a bigger bottle for the price, if I I was to be picky) but all in all not to bad.

I’ve used this hairspray for years, due to being unscented. It used to say I scented on front of bottle, but no longer. I still don’t notice any scent. It changes containers, but product stays the same.

This company had good price. Maybe a little longer to receive it, but that was fine.

My hair felt do dry and damaged before I started using this. After the first application my hair feels soft and manageable. I spay it on before I brush out my hair after my shower. Makes brushing my hair so much easier.

I have Cutaneous Lupus, and this is the first hair spray I have found that does not enflame and cause a flare- up on my scalp! Believe me, this is a Huge Win! I have been searching for about 5 years and tried SOoooooo many that did not work.

Adding to that, I am losing my hair and have extremely fine, thinning hair; I have to back comb the roots and spray them just to get a little lift/body. This product works great with a soft, touchable, non- sticky, natural look while still “ holding”.

I am Grateful and Thankful to finally find something that works for me. Hopefully, it will continue to work without causing irritation to my skin. The can is so small, I have used very little. There is only enough for about 4-6 “brief spray” uses.

It’s pretty expensive for the amount and I wish for a larger size. if it continues to work for me, I have to say; I would continue to pay the price!.

I have tried so many finishing hair sprays and I just have never been able to find one that doesn’t leave your hair hard, limp or even just not work at holding. It seems many love the trios cheek but I just don’t personally.

It’s okay but for me with my course, hoarse tail hair 😆, it just makes me lose my curls or straighter style and not necessarily because it doesn’t work. More like it doesn’t work because it weighs down my hair whether on the 1st setting or all the way up to the 3rd.

This hairspray definitely has the ability to make your hair a little rougher or harder so unless you’re going for super hair style to get to stay hardcore,, say prom or wedding, Try not using as much.

If I am light on my spraying it is hands down the best hairspray I’ve ever used. It’s worth a try even if you think you may not like it.

I purchased this because I had run out of Trois Chic (which has been out of stock for months). The product itself is quite nice. Great hold without stickiness or stiffness. Most impressive (for me) is there’s also very little scent.

I have tried dozens of other hairspray brands and have had to discard them due to the overwhelming scents. I’m allergic to many of them (as is my coworker). It’s been wonderful being able to use hairspray without triggering an asthma attack or hives.

The only downside is the cost/size ratio. This is a really small bottle for the price. Overall, I do like the product. I simply prefer Trois Chic overall.

I used to love this hairspray. I knew that a lot of their other products were not receiving good reviews when they changed the formula, but I was hopeful with this one because it WAS the best hairspray for my hair.

Unfortunately, the new scent bothers me. I preferred their old scent. I used this product once and have to return it. Not sure what I’m going to get now.

I have naturally curly, thick, prone to frizz, very porous hair. I have used several volumizing/curl mousses and this one is my favorite. It does not dry my hair! It defines curls without weighing them down! It also has an added feature of locking curls in place.

Often when I wake up my curls are still intact with very little needing to be done to redefine them. I use this on damp hair after spraying with a light leave in conditioner and Ouidad whipped curls conditioning primer.

My magic combo.

Awesome product for 4c hair. If you have a looser curl pattern than 4c it probably will not work for you. As for 4c, I put a generous amount on my hair from root to tip and then, to ensure hold, I place a teaspoon of super firm gel on top.

My hair is shiny, well defined. Because it’s not overloaded with gel I can spike it up. Great product very moisturizing too.

If your hair has a little natural bounce to it, a little bit of this rubbed into it will make it downright curly. Just put no more than a dime spot on your fingers and work it into the end of your hair.

Fingercomb it lightly and again when it dries. If the stiffness doesn’t finger comb out, you used to much. No one knows you have this product in your hair but you have shiny bouncy hair.

I have a slightly different version of this product, but I think they’re functionally the same, just FYI. I really like the smell of this and think it does its job well enough. I really like that it comes out in a fine mist and doesn’t leave my hair sopping like other heat protectants I’ve tried.

This is the best curl setting product on the market. I spray it on my dry hair before I roll my hair into heated rollers. Only 15-20 minutes later I have curls that are soft and defined and they last for days even if I sleep on them.

I have found no product comparable. It also does not smell obnoxiously (the smell goes away or lessens when it drys).

I sometimes have issues with product weighing my hair down too much. That’s when I break out this stuff! I find it works better if I spray it on my fingertips and work it in down to the roots, then do a final spray at the end when it’s all set and the other product(s) have been scrunched out.

It really helps pump up the volume in my hair. There’s only one real downside I’ve found to this product and that’s the alcohol as the second or third ingredient; I condition every 2-4 days so I’m not *too* worried about damage but do take note of this.

This product smells horrible!! It’s a chemical smell so strong I can’t bring myself to spray my hair with it. It can’t be good for your locks. Sorry I couldn’t give a better review but to all the curly girls who love all natural products, this is a definite pass.

I have have straight white hair, not even a wave, except when I use this product. My hair is medium length so I just spray a light spray on my dry hair and let it dry. When I comb it through, it has the perfect amount of volume and I rarely use my curling iron any more.

I do a little back brushing on the top and that’s it, it looks like a natural wave. This is amazing.

My hair is really curly but also very fine. So it is often difficult to find products that do what I need without weighing down my hair. This is it! I think I may have found my holy grail hairspray. It leaves my hair smelling amazing, doesn’t weigh it down and my hair looks shiny and is not crunchy at all.

My hair is soft to the touch after using this and my hair stays in place. This hair spray is next level. The price is a little high but for the quality of the product and the high class packaging I am willing to gladly pay the price, I think it is worth it.

Oribe is my favorite haircare line so I’m really excited to see it available on Overstock. com! I’ve used the Oribe Super fine hair spray, Oribe Gold lust shampoo and Gold lust masque on my long color damaged mixed texture fine hair for almost 13 years.

The Super fine Hair spray is amazing! It holds without weighing down or making hair crunchy. Plus it is a workable hair spray so I can use heat tools (curling iron/wand) after application as needed on day 2 etc and it won’t cause damage.

The smell is Divine and draws compliments. I get headaches easily and none of the Oribe products bother me You don’t need to use much of this hair spray so the bottle last at least 2 months or more and the price with free shipping was a great deal! I recently switched to a new Hair Stylist( she’s amazing!) but the salon carries only Kevin Murphy products.

I’ve always purchased my Oribe at high end Salons and the Superfine Hairspray I received from this website is legit. * hint* If the nozzle stops spraying, try turning it because it can be locked*.

I was a little nervous to try Oribe Superfine Hairspray as I have been a ‘Shaper’ user for many years. I decided to give it a try after reading posiitve reviews. Recently (with Shaper) I’ve found that body/curls from my irons was not holding well anymore and needed a new go to hairspray.

We ‘hair girls’ 💁🏼‍♀️ know how difficult it is to find a spray that holds the style but that you can comb through as needed. This is my second time using the Oribe and I do like it. The first day I used i had waves/curls from an iron and I did find it to be a better hold then Shaper.

Today I didn’t use any heat beyond my dryer and just needed a few quick sprays to give a little texture and hold. Upon first spray it does firm up where its not easy to comb, but you can brush through if needed.

I’m still learning what’s best in terms of how much spray for a flexible hold. Its not the holy grail of sprays I was hoping for, and I probably won’t use if daily when I am wearing straight, but will use when I add curl.

The first time I used this hairspray i was amazed! It came out in an even spray and coated evenly. The spray wasnt very sticky feeling and wasnt greasy looking on the hair. It held up extremely well and all day long.

I love this hairspray over all my others like garnier and sexy healthy hair. I would buy this over and over again. The smell was light and doesn’t linger. It also didnt make my hair crunchy feeling.

I used this hairspray to tame fly-aways on my hair. I always get hair sticking up near the crown of my head and along the sides along my part so that’s wear I usually spray hairspray. It works well but I, unfortunately, do notice it in my hair.

It’s not heavy but it’s definitely crunchy when you touch it. I also noticed that when it dries, it flakes so it looked like I had dandruff in my hair. If you’re in a pinch or a budget, this works well but I would choose others before this one.
